Loving Our Enemies

Loving Our Enemies

“We’re under attack because we love freedom, is why we’re under attack. And our enemy hates freedom. They hate and we love. We differ from our enemy because we love. We not only love our freedoms and love our values, we love life itself. Our enemy hates innocent life.” — George W. Bush, addressing schoolchildren, Sept. 23, 2002

Any discussion of Ron Paul as a GOP Presidential candidate inevitably begets rants from the paranoids about how Paul’s non-interventionist foreign policy would make America vulnerable to attacks from Iran or Islamic extremists from one Muslim nation or another.

Typical of the responses are irrational, fact-devoid screeds like these, taken from our comments section last week:

  • “Ron Paul is truly a loose cannon , short sighted and ignorant of world relations . On one hand he is correct , we should worry about America . On the other , we MUST worry about the spread of nuclear weapons in the hands of a militant regime who has no compunctions about using them in order to advance their agenda . If this half senile old fool thinks for one instance that Iran would be justified in closing down the Straights to prevent sanctions he should not be seeking the Presidency . Those who defend him should stop and think what it would mean to listen to him an sit back ignoring this bunch of crazed Iranian leaders as they lead us to a war no one will survive . You Have Been Warned !”
  • “Screw Ron Paul and Screw Iran. A vote for Paul will just Make it easier for the A-hole to get back in and finish his job of destroying the economy. As for Iran, they need to be taken out, NOW! They are a pus filled infection on this planet.”
  • “Is Ron Paul a Jimmy Carter replica? He needs to be sent off and released on the Afghanistan/Pakistan border. As a life long registered Republican, I will vote for Obama if Ron Paul win the Republican nomination. Puttin would make for a better President than Ron.
Ron is a total loser, a Bolshevik !!!!! How low has the Republican party gone, to have him a a presidential candidate. Disgraceful”

The truth is the U.S. policy of the past 50-plus years of meddling in the affairs of other countries by covertly backing coups, propping up friendly dictators and fighting proxy wars with Russia and China — using billions of dollars stolen from the American people — have only made the world a more dangerous place. Sadly, not more than three in 10 people seem to understand this. They’ve swallowed the lie that America’s overseas adventures are not empire building, they are simply making the world safe for democracy. They live in a state of confusion and cognitive dissonance.

What the U.S. and its European allies have sought is hegemony over the entire Mideast, not to establish democracy, but to control the oil and other resources there to the benefit of a few fascist elites.

In doing so, they have stolen our wealth; trampled our liberties; killed, maimed and left millions of people homeless; dropped bombs that destroyed infrastructure; installed and financed dictators who enslaved their populaces; and created hatred of America around the globe. And they have developed a majority U.S. population that is eager and anxious to attack and kill anyone who expresses displeasure with U.S. actions — even U.S. citizens — whether abroad or in country, and a Congress and a President that believe such a thing is acceptable.

If you buy the official government line about the 9/11 attacks — that Osama bin Laden encouraged 19 cave dwellers to come to America and learn to fly airliners so they could commandeer them and fly them into two New York skyscrapers, the Pentagon and some other undetermined building in Washington, D.C. — then logic suggests you must also accept the reason bin Laden gave for orchestrating the attacks.

In a 1996 interview with The Independent’s Robert Fisk — 10 days after a truck bomb had torn down part of the U.S. Air Force complex at al-Khobar in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, killing 19 American soldiers — bin Laden explained why he was taking the fight to America.

Not long ago, I gave advice to the Americans to withdraw their troops from Saudi Arabia. Now let us give some advice to the governments of Britain and France to take their troops out — because what happened in Riyadh and al-Khobar showed that the people who did this have a deep understanding in choosing their targets. They hit their main enemy, which is the Americans… This doesn’t mean declaring war against the West and Western people — but against the American regime which is against every American… The explosion in al-Khobar did not come as a direct reaction to the American occupation, but as a result of American behaviour against Muslims, its support of Jews in Palestine and of the massacres of Muslims in Palestine and Lebanon — of Sabra and Chatila and Qana — and of the Sharm el-Sheikh conference… When the American troops entered Saudi Arabia, the land of the two Holy places, there was a strong protest from the ulema and from students of sharia law all over the country against the interference of American troops. This big mistake by the Saudi regime of inviting the American troops revealed their deception. They were giving their support to nations which were fighting against Muslims.

Bin Laden went on to say, “We as Muslims have a strong feeling that binds us together… We feel for our brothers in Palestine and Lebanon… When 60 Jews are killed inside Palestine” — he was talking about Palestinian suicide bombings in Israel — “all the world gathers within seven days to criticize this action, while the deaths of 600,000 Iraqi children did not receive the same reaction.” Fisk writes that this was bin Laden’s first reference to Iraq and to the U.N. sanctions that were to result, according to U.N. officials themselves, in the death of more than half a million children. “Killing those Iraqi children is a crusade against Islam,” bin Laden said. “We, as Muslims, do not like the Iraqi regime but we think that the Iraqi people and their children are our brothers and we care about their future.”

In 2004, bin Laden was quoted as saying:

God knows it did not cross our minds to attack the Towers, but after the situation became unbearable — and we witnessed the injustice and tyranny of the American-Israeli alliance against our people in Palestine and Lebanon — I thought about it. And the events that affected me directly were that of 1982 and the events that followed — when America allowed the Israelis to invade Lebanon, helped by the U.S. Sixth Fleet. As I watched the destroyed towers in Lebanon, it occurred to me punish the unjust the same way: to destroy towers in America so it could taste some of what we are tasting and to stop killing our children and women.

Both the CIA and the 9/11 Commission have said that blowback — a CIA term that describes the repercussions of secretive U.S. foreign policy actions — contributed to the 9/11 attacks. Bin Laden blamed the U.S./Saudi Arabia alliance and presence of U.S. troops in the “holy land” after the first Gulf War, its alliance with Israel and against Palestinians, and sanctions against Iraq.

The FBI has used the blowback angle to set up terror plots that it then “thwarts” in order to give government more excuses to clamp down on civil liberties (via the USA (un)Patriot Act, the overbearing Department of Homeland Security or the newly signed National Defense Authorization Act).

It does this by infiltrating mosques to find patsies it can cajole, support and finance into setting up terror plots, allowing FBI agents to swoop in at the last minute to save the day. The patsies inevitably say their reason for wanting to pull off a terrorist attack against America is to exact retribution for ongoing attacks on Muslim citizens.

One such example is Rezwan Ferdaus, the American citizen charged with concocting a ludicrous plan to launch explosives-filled radio controlled airplanes and fly them into the Pentagon. When asked why he wanted to attack the United States, he replied: “’Cause that would be a huge scare… the point is you want to scare them so they know not to mess with you… They have… have killed from us, our innocents, our men, women and children, they are all enemies.”

It’s clear that U.S. policies in the Mideast have created blowback. Yet our government overlords and all but one of the GOP Presidential beauty contestants tell us that we must occupy Mideast nations, attack their citizens with drones, bomb them with NATO planes and place crippling sanctions on them in order to keep us safe.

We’ve been doing this to one Mideast country or another since 1990 (in addition to decades of backchannel and secretive CIA and non-government organization meddling in other countries’ affairs). Have 21 years of occupations, bombing and sanctions made us safe? No. They have made us broke and less free, and a whole new government entity, DHS, has been created and granted overarching unConstitutional powers to “keep us safe” because of it.

This is what Paul is saying when he says he wants to change U.S. foreign policy from one of empire and globalism to one of non-interventionism. Yet when he does, so-called conservatives get horn-mad.

During a recent GOP debate, self-proclaimed new front-runner Rick Santorum about came unglued when Paul said this, and he all but vowed to bomb the Muslim world out of existence on his first day in office. However, it doesn’t look like he will get his chance. President Barack Obama will have taken care of it prior to the election. As for Mitt Romney, he is simply a neocon, globalist puppet/echo chamber.

Americans have accepted as gospel that Iran is close to having a nuclear weapon. But reports of Iran’s nuclear capability are as dubious as similar reports were about Iraq’s nuclear capabilities — and are coming from some of the same discredited agencies and people.

Crazy is beating your head against a wall to cure a headache. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Stupidity is continuously buying into the lies of a consistently duplicitous Federal government.

Americans have been convinced that continuing — or doubling down on — a foreign policy that has led to attacks on America will make us safe, while that very foreign policy is what created in Muslims the desire to attack Americans in the first place.

George W. Bush, as I quoted above, said “they” hate and “we” love. We’re loving them to death and they hate us for it, and the only ones benefitting from it are the totalitarians, the banksters, the globalists and the military-industrial complex.

It’s true, the bullies are always hated and it just never ends. Why act like scared little rats, we have the capabilities,or atleast we did to take careof ourselves, I for one hate billies, and thats what America has become! Mind our business takecare of our own, fire the current incompetent agencies that made the so WMD mistakes, get some professional American people loving people in place, and keep an close eye. I thought we had it all! We could turn that whole area into glass and they know it! I say let peace have a chance, you all act like a bunch of scared rats, or is that the plan to control you also! “You have nothing to fear but fear itself” (FDR), and maybe the warmonger elites policies!Bring our troops home let them live the life you are you selfish beings, and help protect this country also!

  • Alex Frazier

I think that it is worth saying for the sake of those who would call Paul an isolationist, or who would declare his foreign policies dangerous, that Paul is not opposed to a justified war declared by congress. If there is a sincere threat in the middle east, he will do what is needful, and do it in a constitutional manner. He has said as much in the debates. What he is against is the never-ending parade of useless, harmful, undeclared wars. He is against the costly occupations.

But he himself has made it clear that he is not timid about military action if it needs to be done. And if it does need to be done, his position is that we should declare it through congress, go in and do our business, then bring everyone home. What we presently do is, the president sends troops without bothering with congress, does a little business here and a little business there, then sets up troops to occupy each place as we pass through. It’s crap.

  • John D. Beach

Amen! On 9/12/01, had we apologized for the offenses and turned our Christian “other cheek” and kept our troops home to protect our own borders and stopped all immigration, tourism, shipping and airline flights to and from those countries which were engaged in terrorist training and activities and strengthened the security at our ports of entry, we would have been of no offense and increased our security without incurring the incredible costs of a policy that has been a financial and public relations disaster. If Iran and Afghanistan revert to their old ways politically, it will have been a war fought in vain anyway and what can not be changed by man will have been better left to God. Would to God that leaders would learn that lesson before committing to waste the lives of patriotic citizens who, they think and, by policy, ensure, will have nothing better to do!

Has anyone ever heard JFK’s secret society speech? If not, simply Google it and listen. I’ll have more to say about this later, but now I have to go back to work.

Your dilusional, all the evidence is there, the government has been doing this for years, Iran dont even have an air force, and if they did get a nuke, are you telling me they are going to launch it on Israel? even though Israel has 300 nukes? Iran is the ones that would be wiped from the map. Just like they did with Iraq, o they have WMD, REALLY? I guess you bought into that lie as well, so 4 trillion dollars, and thousands of american lives later, ooops, there are no WMD’s …Israel can take care of its self, the republican party has become the war mongers, our constitution doesnt tell us to go police the world. Put 800 military dictatorships around the world, if any country did that to us, we would be terrorist as well

    • Firefly

WWII – FDR; Korea – Truman; Vietnam – JFK and LBJ! I seem to remember they were all Democrats. Vietnam was ended by Nixon, a Republican. Congress, both Democrat and Republican, voted to go to Kuwait and help in 1991 for Desert Storm. Both parties can irritate the dickens out of us but no one is all good, or all evil.

We are trying to elect a president who will not destroy the country but no one man can do that alone. We must replace most of those in the Senate too or it will be more of the same, or soon we will be so broke that REALITY will make us return home and tend to our own affairs. Only the guidance and inspiration of Supreme Being can
      help us at this point.

      • Vic Bailey

You can’t blame JFK for Viet Nam, Eisenhower started Nam in 1957, three years before Kennedy was president, he was going to end Viet Nam along with the crooked part of the government but they killed him for him trying, LBJ made Viet Nam because he didn’t want to end up like Kennedy! Semper Fi.

    • eddie47d

I understand your point firefly but how about McKinley Republican: Spanish American War, Reagan Republican: Central American Wars and Lebanon,G. Bush Republican: Iraq War and Afghanistan. How about Wilson Democrat: WWI. They all do it and they are all dangerous interventionists and we keep falling for them no matter who is in power. That is why Ron Paul is such a bright star among all the other dull minds.

  • http://printing-for-profit.com Gary

The mere fact that the press is ignoring Ron Paul should be enough for thinking people to take him seriously. If he were to win a primary with 90% of the vote he would written up to be at best 4th in the running.

As far as isolationism is concerned that goes back to Henry Clay and his American System. Abraham Lincoln caused the death of 600,000 citizens with an isolationist policy.

Decades of Department of Commerce tariffs and quotas have been isolationist policies of the worst kind.

  • Sj

Kudos Bob, the only people that dont agree with you are those that aren’t aware that a noose is being slipped around their necks and the eliteists themselves.

  • Steve

Well Bob, Bin Laden can say anything after the fact and you can armchair quarterback all day long, I can even do that. You don’t know where we would be if our policies had been different, no one does. The majority of businessmen, republicans, consertives, and tea party members want Obama out and his agenda ended. It is all about wealth distrubution to his regime and he rules like an organized crime boss, he is the worst. I like Dr Paul but I think he has no chance to get elected. He does not think he can get elected either, he has said that. He wants his message heard, and it is being heard. Paul’s message will have an impact on future decisions made by the eventual Republican nominee as I am sure Paul intended. I am just praying you and all the Paul supporters will target Obama if Paul does not get the nomination. It will take every vote to get Obama out, Obama and his cronies will steel 2-3 percent just like they did in 08. If Paul gets the nomination, we need support him 100%. If he does not, we need to support who ever does 100%!

    • tammom

You are right on Steve. We all have to help Ron Paul’s message spread. He’s got it and the main stream media is trying to keep it from being heard. Our duty is to help him! Did we ever think this is where America would be heading?

    • http://n/a sheepdog

      Right on, Steve.
However, don’t forget Congress. Who controls Congress, controls government. Look at Bush’s last two years.

    • http://911justasking.com metroman

Steve we have had Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama and now Romney do you really think it makes a difference. Obama is carrying out the Clinton and Bush policy. Bush passed the laws but a republican could not carry them out. That is the taking of our liberty and creating the police state we have today. Obama uses the Race for these unconstitutional actions passed by Bush administration. Don’t you see; heads I win and tails you loose. Ron Paul is the only wildcard in the deck that can change it. If you get a chance take a look at 911justasking.com

    • eddie47d

One thing that can be done(now not later)in support of Ron Paul is to write to all the other candidates or any media outlet. Then insist that Romney,Santorum,Perry,Obama and Gingrich accept the non-interventionist policies of Ron Paul. Let them know that it is in Americas best interest to stop looking for enemies and start searching for trading partners. Whether Ron Paul wins the nomination or loses we will not vote for any of you until you stop these false flag wars. We are losing economic liberties and civil liberties because of these foreign entanglements. Our commitments to other countries are disastrous sink holes sucking the very life out of us instead of creating prosperity for us or them.

  • the unfortunate truth

It was embargoes against japan that made the japanese bomb pearl harbor . Were the kamikazes not serious about dying for their cause . We stopped trade of cotton and oil going to japan over years .

Would you have told people who warned of such behavior leading to war they were insane . Had we listened to those people pearl harbor would never had been bombed ?

When you interfere with trade of other nations , and occupy their land , you are inviting american boy and girls to die. This is about being safe , not about ego justice, and being the tough guys of the world .

When you realize the policy is flawed , you correct it .

I love america and americans , and value soldiers lives and that of all americans.

Every great nation that has destroyed its currency and overextended itself militarily has perished and never remained great . From a historical perspective , we are becoming weaker, not stronger. We are using up military assets and destroying the dollar to do . That will never make us safer in the long run .

If you truly value americans lives, you will value the presidency of ron paul .

  • Polski

It’s not just the government’s policy. About 50 years ago a book called “The Ugly American” was published. On the cover was a picture of a fat, bald man, smoking a cigar, wearing a Hawaiian shirt and short pants, with a camera on a strap hanging around his neck. This says it all. This is the world’s perception of an American, an arrogant, demanding person who tramples the rights of everyone else. Sadly enough, when you read these forums, you see this person over and over.

    • Karolyn

Absolutely! Why would people not view us thusly? Look at our arrogance! We are no better than anyone else in the world.

  • VanZorge

you all are called “paultards” for a reason……… just sayin’

    • LibRep

We’re called “Paultards” because we get it. Tell you what – in fairness to other countries, let’s let our allies build bases over here in the US and have their people foot the bill to run and maintain them. Ron Paul’s own words – strong national defense with no nation building. How much longer will China and other countries loan the US money to maintain its empire? We can’t count on the Federal eserve to keep printing money and expect the rest of the world to accept it. One has to look at Weimer, Germany and Zimbabwe to see how well printing money worked out for them. The only thing saving the US right now is OPEC and the oil markets trading in dollars. When they start using another currency the US is screwed. Then we won’t have to be an isolationist nation under Paul. We’ll be isolated by the rest of the world.

    • eddie47d

When it comes to foreign entanglements Bob Livingston and Ron Paul get it and understand the consequences of these actions. No foreign nation or the USA wants troops within their lands. It builds resentment, increases animosity, builds underground terror cells and brings on wars and acts of sabotage we can’t win. We SET UP friendly government who are just as corrupt as the previous authorities and few citizens gain. The Romans did it,the Russians did it and we have done it. So many failures from over leveraging ourselves yet we insist in repeating our errors.

  • Tony

I can’t believe I just read a ton of radical quotes from a well deserved dead idiot named Bin-Laden! Does Ron Paul really dislike Jews as much as Bin-Laden? The Jewish people only want what God promised them LONG before the muslims were ever there, a small piece of land in comparrison to what the Arab nations own. If we don’t itervene soon in Iran, the nut case that leads that country will ultimately start a Global neuclear war. He has declared that he will not rest until the Jews and American devils are wiped from the face of the map. So, Pauls stance is….don’t intervene? Really? I mean is this the best he’s got?

    • Karolyn

“He has declared that he will not rest until the Jews and American devils are wiped from the face of the map.” Can you cite this? I was not aware of Achmadinijad stating such.

      • Laura G.

Giving background to this week’s controversy over remarks by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran, a story mentioned his previous call for Israel to be “wiped off the pages of history” (Britain walks out of conference as Ahmadinejad calls Israel ‘racist’, 20 April, guardian.co.uk). The translation of the statement he made in 2005, at The World without Zionism conference in Tehran, has been the subject of dispute. A more literal translation is: “the regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time”, and this is the translation we should have used (as noted in Corrections and clarifications, 28 July 2007).
Is there much difference between the two quotes? Either way,his intentions, behind his words, shouldn’t be viewed as non-threating.

      • Karolyn

I still have seen nothing about “American devils.” This is how hatred is spread – people repeating rumors. Of course, he hates the Jews. What else is new? They hate him too.

      • TML

“wiped off the pages of history”

I’ve also seen “wiped off the map”, which is an English idiom, has not the same meaning in Persian, and doesn’t represent the proper translation of what was said. The man never said “Israel” either, to imply any kind of genocide. He used a phrase that properly translates to “the Imam said this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time.”

    • TML

I second that. Give us a citation of them openly stating this, or quit regurgitation what ur spoon fed by the media.

    • DaveH

Where did you get that Ron Paul dislikes Jews, Tony?
Is it the fact that he doesn’t think Government has any business giving other peoples’ money away, whether to individual people or countries full of people?
If you want to help Israel, be my guest, Tony. Help them all you want — with your own money and life.

    To Everyone:
This is an excellent article. In essence, our nation has to stop being policemen of the world and need to start being realistic in their foriegn affairs policies. If you study history, this is the mistake the Romans made. See what happen to them. Also, look what happen to the former Soviet Union because of policies of expansionism.
If we don’t change, just observe where Russia is at right now. That’s
where we’ll be at in a generation or two. Think about it. Thanks!!

  • Frank

Is every other country in the world isolationist? Read about Operation Ajax? Who got the biggest contracts in Iraq and Afghanistan? Where did the 911 hijackers come from? If you can’t answer these question, you can’t make an informed decision. Unfortunately, most Americans don’t know history and can’t learn from it.

  • TriumphOver Evil

Wonderful article. Now if Americans would only wake up and see the truth of what has been happening and what will continue to happen if Ron Paul is not elected would be even more wonderful. American leadership has to stop their insanity because they’re signing the death warrants of every American citizen of not only today and tomorrow, but for hundreds or thousands of years into the future.

I wonder whether the other Republicans running against Dr. Paul actually believe their own lies and live in their own sick, little minds or they live in fear of the big, bad wolves called the world bankers. WAKE UP AMERICA because everything that’s been told to you by both Democrats and Republicans has been a fairy tale. American’s worse enemies are those who have been chosen or elected to represent them and nothing will change for the better until we change who work for us.

  • the unfortunate truth

It took me while to be able to accept this as true. But it is what it is . If we are safer by not expanding all over the world , then so be it . And ron paul will have a better energy policy than all of the others as well . He will allow us to be self sufficient in energy in the future .
Ron paul when given long enough to answer , almost always makes the most sense . And it is no different with foreign policy ,or energy policy . Understand the views take all factors into account and as always, paul has the US interest at heart.
    Another good article
Embargoes and trade sanctions provoke war , occupation and coups purport war. War does not make americans safe . Logic and reason will make americans safe .

    • Pepper

      I agree. LOGIC and REASON!!

    • Michael J.

      the unfortunate truth,
Through a process of natural selection we have evolved into the worlds dominate super power. We never the less must pull back from the brink of interventionist insanity to a more rational foreign policy approach. Ron Paul would implement a constitutionaly driven strategy towards that end.

metroman,I just watched this video and it looks very familiar.I’m not sure if part 4 had been completed when I first seen this, though. But,yes most certainly,I have question’s about this day,as well. And the completion of this video raises even more.

Thanks for sharing it,but I still have my reservations about a ‘cult’ that practice’s beheadings to unbelievers(and teaches their 12 year old boys how to do this with living subjects),a people that will stone to death a woman because ‘she’ was raped, female mutilation, and selling their young girls to old men in the name of arranged marriage so they can add a few more sheep to the herd! The more I learn about this culture, the less sympathetic I become and that is why I make my initial statement. If it wasn’t for 9-11,I wouldn’t have know any of this.

It’s none of our business. If the people of a country accept that country’s laws or rules, it is their business.

    • Karolyn

Laura – Then you sure don’t know much!

    • eddie47d

Why was there a 9/11 Laura? Who placed troops in Saudi Arabia and “trampled” on sacred ground. At least from their perspective. Why did we take so much oil from that country yet few in that country had any rights.King Faisal became wealthier while the ordinary person had their civil rights trampled on. That still exists today at least with the women population. Bin Laden was one of the Saudi Elites yet that same government and elites we traded with trained their Wahhabi students and future hijackers to hate America. We slept with the enemy and the enemy bite us hard but suffered no consequences. Next time and even now we need to know who is running the show in these foreign countries before we purchase their commodities. At least before we place troops within their borders.

      • Millicent

FYI Saudi Arabia asked for us to be there. 9/11 happened because Slick Willie brought our defenses down, just like Dr. Dementia wants to do, only worse. You are just too naive to recognize how Antiamerican Dr. Dementia is. He hates us and will destroy us just like the Kenyan. Slick Willie had the chance to take out bin Laden, but didn’t. That’s why 9/11 happened. Ross Perot another egotistical blowhard ran as a third party and we ended up with Slick Willie. No you want to saddle us with Dr. Dementia. No way, no how. I have voted in every election. I would stay home on election day rather than vote for this pile of garbage. Fraud, Liar America Hating Progressive/Leftist Ron Paul. Worse than Obama and that’s saying a lot.

      • Average Joe

Ron Paul / Andrew Napolitano 2012!!!!
        ;) ;)

      • DaveH

Ron Paul, even in his old age, makes far more sense than you do, Millicent. The problem is that you’re aren’t smart enough to know it.

      • NC

millicent, WhaT did the 9/11 terrorist use for weapons to destroy the buildings and how many of them did they have when Clinton left office 234 days before?? let me help you with the answers. AIRPLANES AND NONE! iN FACT THEY DIDN’T HAVE ANY PLANES AT 8 o’CLOCK THAT MORNING! WE WERE VERY FORTUNATE THAT THEY ONLY PLANNED TO STEAL 4 PLANES that day for it appears if they wanted 12 they could have gotten 12 from WHAT EVER WEAK A$$ED FEDERAL SECURITY system “the crawford cretin” had in place while he was reading his grade school book!

      • eddie47d

That’s the problem with you Millicent you don’t realize they are all blowhards. They all work together for the same goal. That includes Romney,Gingrich,Bachmann,Obama,Perry and Santorum. You support one you support them all. You don’t have to like Ron Paul but he has a different more common sense approach to our world view. He sees the causes and effects and how they endanger our nation. The other candidates only continue what we’ve practiced before and those policies are utter failures.

    • Bob Marshall

In that case you don’t know much.

  • Chuck Case

I diaagree with this article. Clearly, Iran has aided our enemies in Afganistan and Iraq buy virture of supplying arms, technology for IED explosives, etc. etc.
Further, the Iranians have avowed to “wipe Isreal from the face of the Earth”.
Now, they are without question from either Mr. Paul or many of his supporters and like-minded people, working towards a nuclear bomb.
It is not only the US and Isreal that fear the Iranians and thier nuclear quest, but most of the Arab countries as well. This includes Saudi Arabia, Quait, Jordan, etc. etc. The ‘Arab Brothers’ know that Iran is quite capable of prolificating nuclear technology to other countries, but also to terrorists that will attack Isreal, The Saudis, etc. and all Western countries.
In fact this morning, the Minister of Defense for Iran has offered to assist any african nation in learning the process of making weaponized uranium!
Sory Mr. Livingston, Mr.Paul, et. al., I personally do not have to see a nuke to believe that one is on it’s way in Iran. The consequences will be horrific.

    • LibRep

It’s only fair Iran arms the enemy. We supplied arms to Iraq during the war in the 80s.

      • Flashy

We shipped arms to both sides LR. We did favor Sammy Hussein in the dealings in that Cheney, acting on approval, arranged poison gas weapons to be shipped to Sammy. Maybe that’s why Cheney claimed he “knew” there were WMDs in Iraq…he gave them to Sammy.

      • http://mine d:-)

Correct Flashy!! Someone that knows their history, and the fact that interventionism LEADS to either spending billions supporting the regime or going in to clean up the mess we made!!! this crap has to stop.

    • eddie47d

That is easy to say Chuck Case but you keep insisting in creating new problems instead of correcting the old ones. Why is Iran mad at us? Because we overthrew their government and installed a puppet regime in 1953. We instantly created an enemy. Why does Iran have animosity towards Israel because we the Americans send them billions of dollars each year and have troops all over the Middle East.We have threatened Iran for decades which has only caused them to become angrier. Our bully pulpit isn’t going to work anymore than Ahmadinejad doing the same thing. We keep giving each other a black eye and have become blind to the underlying causes.

    • Millicent

Glad there are other here who know how AntiAmerican Dr. Dementia is. At least you can answer calmly. This pile of trash gets me very upset as he is helping the Kenyan.

Get some huevos, Chuck. The Iranians aren’t going to attack our country. They aren’t as stupid as our self-serving Leaders and their Crony Capitalists would like you to believe.

      • Flashy

Ummm Dave….weren’t you in the forefront yelling Sammy ws a danger and we had to invade because of WMDs? When any sane person was asking for evidence…you and your ilk were believing the lack of evidence was evidence? (yes…at the time, that was a line put forth by the wacked supporters of the right)

      • DaveH

You lie, Flashman, as usual. Show the readers where I have endorsed being involved in Iraq. Don’t worry, if you can find such a comment, I’ll teach you how to post the link.
        Of course you can’t, because I haven’t.
You know you have no credibility among the regular readers, Flashman, so why do you try to spread your slander?

      • Flashy

This is one the very few articles that accurately describes Ron Paul’s foreign policy and how it relates to the world’s view of this country. One only has to open a foreign newspaper (or read one online) to understand the animosity other country’s have for the USA. I wish more brainwashed Americans would read this.

  • http://none BAP362

The American belief system has been totally turned upside down. We believe war makes us safe and peace is dangerous. In the process we have become a warrior nation. I had already decided to vote for Paul long before this election cycle began. Unfortunately one of those other talking heads will probably become the next president.

“This was not hidden; Dewey and others came out publicly and stated the purpose of publication was to not educate but to indoctrinate through scientific social engineering. Despite the fact that Dewey and the Communist movement claim to atheists, the reality is that Karl Marx was a practicing Satanist. The Communist Manifesto that Marx wrote with Engels was simply a copy of the Illuminati Manifesto written in the late 1700’s. The six primary tenets of the Illuminati Manifesto are:

1- Abolition of Monarchy and Ordered Government
        2- Abolition of Property
        3- Abolition of Inheritance
        4- Abolition of Patriotism
        5- Abolition of Family
        6- Abolition of Religion

These are also the exact same goals of the World Communist Movement.”

The thing is Ralph if we hadn’t poked our nose into the internal affairs of so many foreign countries such as placing troops in Saudi Arabia there wouldn’t have been a Bin Laden forming an al Qaeda. There wouldn’t have been a need to send in Seal Teams into Pakistan to kill Bin Laden. We need to back up our foreign policies not grow them into monsters we can’t have control of.

    • Richard Pawley

Thanks, Terry! I needed a good laugh. The Dark Side does seem to be growing, but the motto of my home state is DUM SPIRO SPERO (While I breathe, I hope). We are in a very complicated situation and when good men and women of various political parties and religions are trying to do good and end up doing the opposite one can suspect the operation of evil. Of course to some on this site that is only philosophy or religion. They can’t conceive of the much larger non-physical universe or the operation of good and evil spirits in the lives of men. The only way we are going to survive what is coming is if all who believe in God call out to him on a daily basis to work His will in all of what is going on in this country, in all three branches of government, and in all who are running for office of any kind. We need His help. Without such help we will just lumber along until the dollar collapses or loses so much value (due to our out-of-control spending) that it will all be academic. In other words believers need to pray!

  • dg

You’re confusing policy with execution. America leaders over the years have made many mistakes in execution but the biggest mistake of all would be an isolationist policy, ala Ron Paul. It would lead to more danger for America as well as the rest of the world. I agree with Paul’s domestic agenda for the most part but my view is that, if elected, he would move immediately on his foreign policy endangering America and never be able to implement his domestic policy due to a disagreeable Congress.

    • http://www.boblivingstonletter.com/ Bob Livingston

      Dear dg,

I’m not confusing anything. You are deluded if think the results of U.S. foreign policy are simply innocent mistakes.

      Best wishes,
      Bob

      • http://TimeWarnerRoadRunner Joyce

Anyone who thinks we should be isolationists is living in a fantasy world. There will always be a country that has to help those who’s violent leaders, are killing, gassing, woodchipping, etc. their people to death. If I knew my next door neighbor was beating someone to death, I WOULD GET INVOLVED. How many Jews would have been saved if we had gone into WWII sooner, how many more Kerds would have been gassed or murdered if we had not gone in and stopped Sadam Hussein. There are reasons to go into war, and I’m not saying every war was warranted. We make mistakes, but saving others is warranted. I agree and think it is important to make our country more safe and secure our borders, but lets not live like isolationists, like nothing else matters in this world. That’s not America.

      • Karolyn

I certainly understand where you are coming from; however, (and this was mentioned recently) why has the US not assisted those poor people in African nations who are being starved and slaughtered? We only assist countries that can possibly benefit our country in the long run. In an ideal world we would all be helping each other. unfortunately, where does our helping get us? The Iraquis, for the most part, couldn’t wait til we left. Their country was more secure when Sadam was alive. We cost them (and us) more lives, and now look where they’re headed. It was, and is, a lost cause unless the people themselves take responsibility for their own country. It is the same in any country where the people suffer. Their attitude is “This is my lot in life – so be it.” and nothing changes.

      • Vigilant

“We only assist countries that can possibly benefit our country in the long run.”

You mean like we helped Kosovo? Clinton’s/NATO’s illegal foray into that province simply made it safe for the Muslim terrorist funding/arms smuggling to proceed at an increased pace.

But you are right about Africa. The massacres in Rwanda/Burundi will forever be a scar on this country (another Clinton fiasco).

      • Alex Frazier

If you don’t mind me asking, Joyce, why must it always be the United States that steps in to fix the world? Can’t we have a small respite from murder and bankruptcy so we can get our own house in order, and let some of the other member nations of the UN take care of the problem?

      • Jodi

Yes and amen to the comment about getting our own house in order first before we can have real resources to help those truly in need. We can’t aid those when we’re broke and in debt ourselves! All these years of war-mongering hasn’t helped and people want to continue this path of destruction? I know this is cliche, but truly…What. Would. Jesus. Do?

      • Robert

When asked “what would Jesus do?” Jesus would do what he did do when he left heaven and took upon himself human flesh and became GOD-man, that is GOD with mankind. He grew up in a nation that was occupied by Rome. His country was under foreign nation domination. Ruled by brute force of the Roman Legions that killed at will.

Jesus did not take up arms against Rome. He subjected himself to obeying the Law. Jesus being GOD, creator of the Universe, came to redeem his creation through his birth, death and resurection. Jesus came to Earth to defeat the Devil and he accomplished his mission. You and I now have access to the throne of GOD through, and only through, the name of JESUS. The Devil knows that his time is short so he is going to destroy everyone he can, anyway he can, and religion is his main way of doing it. Islam is a government as well as a religion. Its citizens are called Muslim. Its god is Allah, not Jesus who is the one true GOD and savior of the world. Its Judicial system is Shira Law. Its Constitution is the Koran. Its goal is world domination. Jesus came to give life and to give it more abundantely to everyone who repents of their sin and receives the free gift of life which is only found in Jesus – GOD the Son. Jesus came to give his life for his creation. Islam came to kill everyone who does not convert to its religious system and bow to Allah – god of this world system.

Jesus told us to live at peace with everyone if at all possible. To love our enemies. To do good and not evil. The actions of governments are not always what Jesus would want them to do. The current world system is being influenced by both good and evil people. When righeous people are elected to office God says the people rejoice; but, sin is a reproach to any people. The election of 2012 may sound the death bell for America or a reprieve by the grace of God if righeous people are elected.

May God forgive America and bless her people and bring peace to Israel and all Jerusalem – city of the great King, Jesus.

Seems here that people get confused NOT KNOWING the DIFFERENCE between “ISOLATIONIST” and “NON-INTERVENTIONIST”. Please refer to a dictionary. And if you want more wars, please send yourself and children to the front line. If any of you believe that we are in these countries for peace and not their oil, you are very foolish. Companies are making money off of these wars while Americans are paying with their money and lives. If you want to “SUPPORT the TROOPS” listen to what THEY are saying since THEY have a front row seat and SEE what is really going on!

      • Mark in LA

Pepper, they know the difference. It has been explained to them over and over and the lies are still repeated by the same “people”. They are using the big lie technoques. Notice that they spew the same thing without any facts or links to back it up. They are on the payroll of AIPAC or the RNC.

      • Eve

Not isolation but intervention…can you not understand the difference?

      • eddie47d

There is this myth that Ron Paul is an isolationists when what he really wants is an even stronger America who will always have the capabilities of defending itself. Ron Paul wants us to trade throughout the world through civilized means not by military intervention. He wants free trade between nations and deals negotiated through proper channels not by military decree.

Joyce – who gets to pay for your “compassion”. While in theory it sounds good to say we helped to save the lives of … Who paid the cost? It wan’t you was it? No it was some dumb kid usually poor and without much prospects in life who came home in a body bad so you can spout off about your generosity. The great part is the kid had very little say in it.

      • professor

        Mark, good point.

It is very easy for the politicians to spend “our” money and risk the lives of “our” children. Politician make war without ever having contributed to “the cost.” They profit from it instead.

We Americans pay the cost, including Joyce, even though she is unaware of why her taxes go up and the prices of good and services increase.

For example, rebuilding Iraq made the cost of building material skyrocket. The demand by the government for large amounts of these materials, to rebuild a foreign country, caused a “shortage of the same for Americans at home.” We paid more for less.

Ten years in a middle east country “winning hearts and minds” while extorting money from Americans to pay the bill, is insane! What better slogan could our government use to excuse their sucking us dry of blood and treasure.

People that argue about “isolationism” are distracting us from the truth. The truth is that our founding fathers warned us not to get involved in the politics of foreign nations and not to get into drawn-out military action with them…

RP is right about us standing back, regrouping, and taking care of America first. Close most of the military installations in foreign countries. They are no longer needed. Build more smart missles and hire spies. The money we spend protecting foreign nations has become nothing but “international welfare.” How many of these countries depend on the U.S. money to feed their economies.,

We should “strike” our enemies without reserve, from a position of power. Then, leave the offenders to clean-up their own mess! Next time they may think twice about attacking Americans or American interests.. No more “nation building” or feeding into the “business” of countries (and politicians) making war on America.

      • TrvlSEA

You don’t understand the difference between Isolationist and Noninterventionist.

RP is a Noninterventionist, not an Isolationist.

        These definitions are from http://www.thefreedictionary.com...

Isolationism/ – the policy or doctrine directed toward the isolation of a country from the affairs of other nations by a deliberate abstention from political, military, and economic agreements

(He would not have us withdraw from trade, if anything, we would expand trade… He believes in a strong national defense, not to be confused with a strong agressive offense…)

Noninterventionism/ – the doctrine that governments should not interfere in the politics of other countries

(He doesn’t think that it’s right or moral for us to prop up brutal dictators, create instability in other countries or otherwise cause strife around the world when it’s none of our business.)

      • Flashy

Trvisea … in this day and age, one cannot be one or the other. We are not self sufficient. Thus we need to keep the trade routes open and the markets available.

Take the latest “threat’ from Iran where it loudly whispered “Straits of Hormuz”. Pres. Obama took note. He’s lined up the IEA members and if the Straits are closed, the internatinal community will have enough oil drawn from emergency supplies around the world for 60 days. He has also pledged that, with the western allies, we will fight to keep the Straits open and they all have stated publically closing the Straits is an act of war and will be considered such.

There are those on the Right who say “drill baby drill”. OK..so we drill and by fantasyland we have enough for ourselves. What about the remainder of the world?

Imagine then since we do not have naval ability to toss around some power, the Chinese navy, or Indian navy comes up and says ‘we’ll protect your oil route”.

How long do you think before our trade takes a back seat to whomever’s navy is protecting the Straits? Or take as another example Japan. Now if we didn’t have enough firepower avilable and floating around over there … how long before the Japanese realize their best interests lie in cutting us out of favorable deals and turning to China?

how about Australia…already having the heebie jeebies with India right there and China coming down the pike. Ya want to just toss the Aussies overboard?

Oil is a big one though. If we can get not only us, but work with the rest of the West and wean ourselves from oil, we’d be a much stronger, more stable, more protected nation. THEN we can work on withdrawing from the ME and concentrate on keeping the trade routes open and our trading partners interests in line with ours.

      • DaveH

So in other words, Flashman, if they won’t trade voluntarily with us, you are fine with forcing them? How come I believe you?

      • Flashy

        Still having comprehension problems Dave?

Let me see if i can put it in simpler language. you have a choice between selling your widgets to two people. One has a gu to your head saying “I want them and don’t sell any to the other guy”.

Now…if you were a foreign leader and saw the Chinese or Indian navy outside in the bay..and they were saying “give us the deal and charge the highest to the Americans since we have the gun at your head and Pres. Paul ain’t nowhere around”…what do you think the outcome will be?

      • ralph herman

It’s been going on with Leaders from the dawn of time. Ron Paul is an Unnatural Politician and we should appreciate and help him every way we can.
In a way, Obama has actually done us a favor, because people have awakened like never before to the realities of Big Government. The vast majority of the Republican Leaders would take us to the same place that Obama is taking us, but they would do it more slowly, less perceptibly and as a result, the masses would have been much less likely to have wakened from their apathetic stupors.
We no longer have the luxury of time. We need to start fighting for our Freedom now or we can kiss it goodbye in a very few years. Even if Ron didn’t get elected, he is still spreading the message of Freedom that the majority of citizens have no clue about. Every movement has to start somewhere. People don’t just wake up overnight.

Actually, her ignorance is bad for our health….don’t forget….even without any common sense at all…she’s still allowed to vote…and that is really scary.

      • Average Joe

        JeffH,
I can find no sense in trying to explain Ron Paul to those who refuse to listen (such as Millitant). Therefore my only reply is what unhinges them more than anything else I could possibly say…his name…Ron Paul. Notice how just the mention of his name causes them to start salivating…and chomping at the bit…..just to get a chance to scream some vile comment (because they really have nothing intelligent to say)…because they lack any real intelligence with which to carry on a debate with…..My final response to these half-wits is simply….RON PAUL!!!!! (drives ‘em nutz!) and makes me feel better.

      • JeffH

        Average Joe, right on! :)

        Dear Bob,
You have been drinking too much of Dr.Dementia’s kool aid. I think you really care about America, but unfortunately for you you have lost touch with reality.

      • Vic Bailey

Millicent, your hatred and ignorance is the very thing that this Socialist Government counts on. The more hatred causes more innocent people to die, like our young men and women, and this Socialist Government doesn’t care as long as they can act like a school yard bully. The American people need to wake up while there is still a USA to protect, we can’t protect it if we are scattered out all over the world in countries where we SHOULDN’T be. One American life isn’t worth one half ounce of oil, put your hatred to rest Millicent, the world has enough without yours! Ron Paul CAN SAVE US ALL, even you Millicent with all your hate, without WAR we all will mellow, and we STILL can keep America FREE! Learn how and when to “TURN IT OFF”! Your neighbors will be safer. You have not been following Ron Paul for 20 years have you or you would not be bad mouthing Ron Paul? You certainly need some research on your part. As a matter of fact Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate that will renew our country as the “FOUNDING FATHERS” intended. An ignored enemy is a happy enemy. That is why we are fighting overseas now. Our government did not know how to leave them alone.
I hope you wake up in time.

Ron Paul better known as Porkulus Paul. He is #4 on taking the pork home. He sticks pork in bills, then votes against them, knowing full well they will pass and he then says Look what a good boy I am I voted no. He is a serial violater of the Constitution Article 1 Section 8. Lying fraud racist Progressive Leftist pile of offal. Worse than Obama. Once Obama’s supporters desert this nutjob, he will be down to 1%. He already cannot run on the Libertarian line because the other nutjob Gary Johnson is doing that. Next, Trump will block him on the Independent line. Thus we can be rid of this traitor scum once and for all. He will go down in histroy just like Henry Wallace, as an absolute disgrace to America.

It is simply your lowclass, guttersnipe, vulgar speech content that I find offensive (as do others here).
Instead of comming here and telling us about your candidate and why we should vote for him or her, you instead, only down talk another candidate that you don’t personally like (we get it, yu don’t like Ron Paul and we are happy for you). Instead of trying to convince us in a logical manner, you spew unsupported garbage with absolutely no basis in reality.
Based soley on your posts and their content, I would have to guess that you are an under-educated halfwit….who is only a Republican…because everybody else in the family is a Republican…you are a typical sheep…just following the herd…… no original thoughts….no original opinion…..just a playback machine wearing a human suit……

BAM…please be more specific when referring to the “FOUNDING FATHERS”. The problem with this phrase is that there were several Congresses and delegations, and hundreds of men involved. They all did not think nor view the Constitution nor this nation alike…

Jefferson and hamilton didn’t see alike on many issues, and there were many who disagreed with both. Lumping all of them together into one phrase is inaccurate, displays a tremendous amount if ignorance, is worthless as a referring source, and says nothing.

      • Vigilant

“Jefferson and hamilton didn’t see alike on many issues, and there were many who disagreed with both. Lumping all of them together into one phrase is inaccurate, displays a tremendous amount if ignorance, is worthless as a referring source, and says nothing.”

Flushy, your “knowledge” of the founding is superficial at best, ignorant at worst. The Founders are called such NOT because they had a monolithic view of how the Constitution was to be written and how the government was to operate. They are called that precisely BECAUSE they managed to write that document embodying their often opposing views. It was this dynamic that ultimately gave the world the longest surviving written Constitution in history.

Both Federalist and Anti-Federalist provisions are found therein. We don’t have a Hamiltonian Constitution or a Jeffersonian Constitution or a Madisonian Constitution, we have a Constitution FOUNDED on the views of the FOUNDERS.

Lumping all of them together into one phrase is accurate, displays common sense, is worthy as a referring source, and says much.

        There were not “hundreds.”

    • Flashy

International affairs is the game of realpolitik played with a no limit stake on the table. Defining “realpolitik” is simply a larger more complex game of “screw your buddy”.

Isolationist policies gets us exactly what we would be asking for…isolated and against the world. We were the Alpha Dog. top iof the world, the Equal amongst equals. And then th neocons came in, unfettered and unopposed the fed their corrupt machine and their cronies and bled us dry in the 00′s. they accomplished the US as being seen as a bully, interested only in domination, a rogue nation with an international outlook akin to a third world petty dictator. What moral stands we had as our bulwark against criticism were tossed out the window. For instance, we can no longer, for years ahead, object when tyrants use torture as a form of official policy or jail it’s citizenry without warrant or proof. That decade, with the neocons and wacked Right cheering … will forever be a black stain on our historical record. There were sad faces when the terrorists main recruiting poster boys, Bush/Cheney, were no longer arund to use to build their ranks.

Let’s see…two wars, two coup attempts in Venezula, heavy handed blatant power games and threats, withdrawing from any international agreement the Neocons didn’t control…egads..the damage will go on for decades ! And you think the American people want to hand it back to that gang of thugs aka Neocons??? You want to hand it back to them???

We have to stay in the chess game of international affairs. Our trade relies on having a standing…for if one country becomes overly strong and manages to tke the top of the mountain, and says ” don’t give the US any deals” … we’re at a disadvantage. Rome was unbeatable…until Alaric cut it off from the main world. It fell and was sacked within two years. Isolationism will accomplish nothing but allow the “Alarics” of the world surround us cutting us off.

Anyone who thinks isolationism would be a good policy for this nation is sorely lacking in knowledge of international affairs and is deluding themselves imagining an unreachable fairy tale land…

And that is the way it is …

      • Karolyn

I have heard no one speaking of isolationism, Flashy. Isn’t the term “non-intervention”, which sounds just peachy to me.

      • Flashy

Interventionism and Isolationism are the same thing Karolyn when Realpolitik is played.

      • http://mine d:-)

The rest on this sub thread…interesting you can criticize…don’t see any solutions being given as alternatives or a counter argument. But that’s to be expected from those who can’t think for themselves and need to be told what to think, believe and say. I’m surpirsed DaveH didn’t find a nonsensical link from Mises to put up…

      • DaveH

Ralph, you shouldn’t vote either, you are also an idiot.

    • Sunshine49

You really need to look up what an isolationist is before you accuse Ron Paul of being one.

North Korea is a good example of an isolationist country. They would rather let their people starve then allow interference in their weapons programs.

Ron Paul does NOT want to isolate us from trade with other countries, but he does want to protect Americans by protecting our borders.

What don’t you understand about protecting our borders like is
written in our Constitution? Obama sues our States for protecting
themselves. Do you think that is better?

    • fedup

I don’t understand everyone chanting this Isolationist blather. I was 4 years in the U.S. Navy and there wasn’t anything we couldn’t keep an eye on just floating along the Pacific Rim. My wife was P-3s and flying over the Atlantic she could read a licence plate # on a car parked in France, and this was back in the early 90s!. We have the technology to keep us informed and more without having to go to some country, kick their doors down and spend gobs of money. By the way, we have known the whereabouts of Bin Laden for some time. As far as Iraqs wmd b.s. All W. Bush did was run thru what Nixon tried to do when he was Prez, A.K.A Patriot Act. The thing that stopped Nixon was a power struggle with Hoover, head of the F.B.I who had his sights set on being the Know-all, See-all of the government. Bush had no such obstacles. You fools out there chanting big government propagnada, go right ahead. Let big government protect you right out of all your liberties and freedoms, but QUIT chanting “isolationism” when refering to taking care of ourselves and not meddling in other countries affairs!! Just because we aren’t over there staring in their eyes doesn’t mean we can’t keep an “eye” on them. That’s the problem with people today, they “know” everything because they have a satellite dish. Most people out in the U.S today, you could piss down their backs and tell them it’s raining and the first thing they’d want to know is what the government is going to do in case they flood. Pathetic:\

  • Michael J.

Thanks for putting Dr. Paul’s foreign policy into words so succinctly.
The media twists his words into what I call pretzel logic.

I feel that the effort required to derail the momentum of the globalist locomotive is to massive to overcome, but I will vote for Ron Paul as republican nominee or independent anyway.

    • Jimmy D.

Apparently Michael J and various others have not taken the time to actually read the Koran and see what it says about anyone who does not adhere to Islam and Sharia law. We are to die, preferably minus our heads. The Islamic mandate is total world domination by any and all means necessary so they can continue their savagery uncontested and force their heathen beliefs on us all. Ron Paul has his head up his butt when it comes to these animals. If anyone has any doubts as to how muslims handle differences of opinion among their own kind, much less us infidels, one needs only to review what Hussein did to the Kurds with chemical weapons. Kinda answers the WMD question too.

      • Karolyn

Only radical Islamists adhere to what you are saying. The majority of Muslims just want to live in peace with their families like anybody else. You are brainwashed.

      • Brian

Yes, you are brainwashed Jimmy D…Why would any government want to kill us EVEN though Islam says the things it says? Governments want the most money for themselves, even ‘Islamic’ governments – they are no more ‘Islamic’ than our government is ‘Christian’!

      • Millicent

Keep drinking the Ron Paul kool aid you idiots. Or is it too many hits on the bong. Ron Paul aka Dr. Dementia is a total and complete fraud. He talks like he wrote the Constitution. Dr. Dementia the America hating pile of garbage can bring home the bacon. He is a racist liar and to the left of Obama. Really, you could have stopped after the first one. We knew from that point that you had no case against Dr Paul.

Meanwhile the louder and louder the rants from the supposed conservatives against Dr. Paul tell me they are truly afraid that his ideas might actually be heard and understood.

Even if he is not elected/electable the spreading of his ideas is very bad for the people who would claim to keep us safe by killing others who have not even attacked us.

      • Vigilant

Mr. Livingston says, “If you buy the official government line about the 9/11 attacks — that Osama bin Laden encouraged 19 cave dwellers to come to America and learn to fly airliners so they could commandeer them and fly them into two New York skyscrapers, the Pentagon and some other undetermined building in Washington, D.C. — then logic suggests you must also accept the reason bin Laden gave for orchestrating the attacks.”

Afraid I need a little clarification here.

You’re saying that if you buy premise A (9/11 was an Al Quaeda and Al Quaeda only-orchestrated attack), then logic dictates an acceptance of conclusion B (9/11 was Al Quaeda revenge for US adventurism in the Middle East).

We know you don’t buy premise A, but you sure seem to buy conclusion B. The logic seems fuzzy to me.

      • http://www.boblivingstonletter.com/ Bob Livingston

        Dear Millicent,

You can always be counted on to provide cogent, concise, fact-filled rebuttals to any commentary. Thanks so much for your kind words.

        Regards,
        Bob

P.S. Your posts are in violation of our terms of use policy. However, in the short term I intend to allow you and your posts to remain for the comedic value they provide.

      • http://www.boblivingstonletter.com/ Bob Livingston

        Dear Vigilant,

Those who believe that OBL instigated, planned and financed the attacks must accept the reasons OBL gave for planning the attack. However, they are suffering from cognitive dissonance if they accept that our interventionist policy spurred OBL, but believe that we should continue the same policy. They are also suffering from cognitive dissonance if they believe OBL instigated, planned and financed the attacks, but ignore the reasons he gave. Both are illogical.

Some have said that Ron Paul blames America for 9/11. He has not said that. Paul has said that blowback as a result of America’s interventionist policy led to the attacks. (In other words, he takes OBL at his word. He also believes the CIA, when it says that blowback led to the attacks.) That is the point I’m making here, and the logic is not fuzzy at all.

        Best wishes,
        Bob

      • Vigilant

Let me put it this way, Mr. Livingston: You have said, if I’m not incorrect, that 9/11 was NOT accomplished for the reasons given by OBL, but was instead a false flag attack orchestrated by…whomever.

If you believe that, then OBL’s excuses are false, and US overseas interventionism is simply irrelevant.

      • http://www.boblivingstonletter.com/ Bob Livingston

        Dear Vigilant,

Irrelevant? I don’t believe U.S. overseas interventionism is irrelevant to the 6,000 or so U.S. military killed and the 46,000 wounded, and their families. I don’t believe it’s irrelevant to the thousands of innocent Afghanis, Pakistanis and Iraqis and the thousands of Libyans killed. It’s certainly not irrelevant where our loss of freedom is concerned–through the Patriot Act, the NDAA, etc. It is hardly irrelevant to our national budget. There are so many ways our overseas interventionism is relevant. You, sir, do not live up to your handle or you would see this.

        Best wishes,
        Bob

      • Vigilant

        Mr. Livingston,

I fear you are misunderstanding me. I’m not by any means talking about the irrelevancy of US interventionism to the things you are citing. I agree with you on that.

But I’ll not let an outside argument sway me. I’m talking about 9/11 ONLY, the 9/11 conspiracy theory vs. OBL’s statements as to why it happened.

I am talking about cognitive dissonance in this manner: one cannot believe that 9/11 was caused by some massive conspiracy (NWO, Bush, Mossad, etc., whomever) and AT THE SAME TIME believe that it was Al Quaeda’s rage at US interventionism in the M.E. that caused it. It has to be one or the other.

And if you believe that BOTH things caused it, that’s the very essence of cognitive dissonance.

I hope I’ve made myself clear.

      • Vigilant

“Some have said that Ron Paul blames America for 9/11. He has not said that. Paul has said that blowback as a result of America’s interventionist policy led to the attacks. (In other words, he takes OBL at his word. He also believes the CIA, when it says that blowback led to the attacks.)”

Well, which is it? “Blowback” or 9/11 conspiracy theory? Logically, if you accept Dr. Paul’s assessment, then you CANNOT believe in the 9/11 conspiracy theory.

      • Alan

        @Vigilant -
This “faux” argument that you have engaged in, with Mr. Livingston, is a typical ploy to try to confuse the issues. I was in Europe (Germany) when the USS New Jersey began shelling Beirut. The
“Blowback” we experienced in Europe was delayed but over the course of the next few months the terrorists stepped up their attacks on a myriad of places in Europe. As a result of or foreign entanglement in Lebanon, Tunisia, and Libya (remember our Navy took Yassar Arafat to Tunisia), Arafat began his trek to Libya where he empowered Mohomar Khadafi to bomb a Disco-tec in Berlin – killing 2 Americans and injuring 79 in April 1986. This all led to further foreign entanglements with B-52s sent out of Britain to bomb Tripoli. And, here we have witnessed the ever increasing tension between the ME and the West due to our incessant desire to control the World’s Oil supply. I have first-handed experienced the “blowback” of foreign entanglements due to our idiotic foreign policies of the last 30 years! Everyone, pull your heads out of the sand and stop believing the hypebol!

      • http://www.boblivingstonletter.com/ Bob Livingston

        Dear Vigilant,

Blowback is very real. As I pointed out, there are those who harbor a hatred for the U.S. based on its foreign policy. Some of those people carry out actual terrorist attacks. Some of are used as patsies by the FBI. They are entrapped, encouraged, whatever you want to call it (see the link I provided for an excellent article by Glenn Greenwald on the subject). It is possible that those who carried out the attacks on 9/11 were such patsies, legitimately enraged by the actions of the U.S. government and/or affiliated NGOs, targeted because of their beliefs and used to carry out the actions that were desired. As to 9/11 specifically, I am not certain exactly what transpired. I am certain that the government’s official story contains many lies. While there is no question that four jetliners were employed by someone(s) to carry out the attacks, the whys, whos and hows that come from the government don’t add up. So accepting that blowback is a part of the story and that there is some conspiracy involved in the 9/11 attacks are not mutually exclusive, as you seem to think.

        Best wishes,
        Bob

      • Vigilant

        Alan,

There is no argument, “faux” or otherwise. I was seeking clarification, not trying to sow confusion. And where did I say I didn’t subscribe to the blowback facet?

You have “first-handed experience” of blowback? Pray tell just what that was. I was sitting in a relatively defenseless NATO E-3A on station 20,000 feet over Sicily when we were buzzed by two Libyan MiGs in 1986, not a nice experience. We didn’t know if they were going to shoot us down. That’s first hand experience.

BTW, no B-52s were used to bomb Gaddafi, they were F-111Fs.

      • Joseph

Vigilant: I am talking about cognitive dissonance in this manner: one cannot believe that 9/11 was caused by some massive conspiracy (NWO, Bush, Mossad, etc., whomever) and AT THE SAME TIME believe that it was Al Quaeda’s rage at US interventionism in the M.E. that caused it. It has to be one or the other.

Vigilant, the reason you have difficulty in connecting the two, is because you honestly believe that Al Quada operates as an in-depended agency/organization, and not as an instrument/tool, created, and controlled by our CIA!

It is no secret that Osama Bin Ladin was a CIA agent. “Tim Osman” was the name assigned to him by the CIA for his tour of the U.S. and U.S. military bases, in search of political support and armaments. There is some evidence that Tim Osman … visited the White House. There is certainty that Tim Osman toured some U.S. military bases, even receiving special demonstrations of the latest equipment. Why hasn’t this been reported in the major media?

      • professor

Karolyn muslims are so nice I guess that is why they come to take over our cities like Dearborn Michigan where they want to force the courts to invest in Sharia Law. I guess that is why the police won’t go into the muslim ghettos…they are such nice and peaceful people.

Have you watched the riots in the Middle East….those are your muslim friends. Bring in enough of them and they will act the same way in this country.

Anyone that practices islam, is not compatible with the American way of life. When called they will be in the streets fighting us. I would hate to be living in Michigan.

Actually, they are already in a struggle to take our country from within.. They come as conquerors, to acquire land and wealth, just like the conquerors of old… this time the difference is that they come with “lawyers instead of swords” and they depend on people like you to give them what they want.

      • Flashy

I believe you are greatli in error in catagorizing Dearborn as “taken over” by Islamists. That’s one of the many lies spread by fear and hete mongerers wo trust people will believe it if told often enough. The other point you are failing in is your characterization of there being “Muslim Ghetto’s” … errr…is there any type of ghetto other than a “ghetto”? Shall we start referring to them in a religious bent..such as “Christian ghetto”, Bhuddist Ghetto” etc? just where are the Muslim ghettos?

      • Michael J.

        Flashman,
You neglected to mention the liberal ghetto which exists in the minds of liberals, literately.

I know non-muslim people from Dearborn who are trying to get out.
Thing is they have to take a serious beating on their now, near worthless property to do it. Now is that because it’s becoming a ghetto or is that Bush’s fault too flashy?

        Brad says:
“Hey Flashy, what do you call this, (link removed so I can put in my link)”

I would call that a bunch of liberals interfering with the right to speak. So much for their respect of the Constitution. Kinda like the yelling and screaming against Dr Paul.

      • Dave

Looked like a bunch of Tea-Baggers if you ask me. They yell like that, too.

      • professor

Flashy, lets put it differently about Dearborn so that you can understand.

Dearborn Michigan has the largest “settlement” of muslims outside of the Middle East….!

As far as your objection to the word “Ghetto,” I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want to call it like it is….what is the problem about identifying who lives in a particular neighborhood. We have Jewish neighborhoods, we have black neighborhoods.. What is wrong with identifying a muslim neighborhood that police won’t venture into…as a Ghetto! Libturds are the only ones that won’t call “a spade a spade.” Everyone else can identify what they see.

      • Glynn A.

Even though no less frightening today than it has ever been, none of this is new to me. I have studied and researched Islam for forty years and am more convinced now than ever that ISLAM spelled backwards is MALSI, another off beat, tongue-in-cheek reference to satan; among his many other titles. This whole idea of turning piracy into a religion was the brainchild of a renegade camel herder who happened to marry into money and used it, and a paranoid vision to turn his otherwise dead in the water future into a mega empire, worth untold millions. Of all the world’s 1.2 billion muslims, savvy old Muhammad was the only one with brains. There hasn’t been one of his intellectual and cunning brilliance since.

      • Henry Stock

Those adhering to Radical Islamic philosophy represents somewhere between 10 to 15% of all Muslims, which puts that number at somewhere around 150 million people. That is something to be concerned about, especially in light of the advantages of asymmetric warfare.

Another problem results from the intimidation factor. While those radical Muslims represent only a small percentage of the entire Muslim population, their influence is larger because they intimidate non radical Muslims into silence and even acquiescence. Even if you yourself are not a radical Muslim, it does not do much for the cause of peace if you remain silent in the face of activities on the part of radical members of your religion. The most notable Muslims, various Imams, are among the radical group and so that influence is growing.

Look at what is happening in Egypt. The Radical Muslim Brotherhood is taking over and vowing to abrogate the peace treaty with Israel. Similar events are happening all over the region. Let me ask you, if you were faced with a foreign leader calling your nation evil and promising to wipe your nation off the face of the earth while that nation was simultaneously working toward the building and / or acquisition of nuclear weapons, how would you react? Would you be willing to take a chance that it was a bluff? This is the kind of thing that Europe did with Hitler. It is a tough situation because you are dammed if you act and you are dammed if you fail to act.

I felt that this article was unfair because it misrepresents the feelings and beliefs of thousands of people that do not trust Congressman Paul’s views on foreign policy. We are not ranting idiots who have no logical basis for our disagreements with Ron Paul particularly regarding his views on Iran. Have any of you that agree with Doctor Paul studied the topic of the Twelfth Imam? Before you discount us, please study that topic in depth. You will find that what we consider rational behavior and what the “twelvers” believe is rational are not the same. And therein lies the problem. Doctor Paul apparently believes that if we just ignore the Iranians and get out of the region, that they will let us alone. We don’t think that it is that simple.

There are many things on which we and Doctor Paul agree. We agree on economic issues. We agree on many issues concerning freedom and the role of government. We even agree, in principle on the idea that we should pull back on our foreign presence and commitments. But we may disagree with the rapidity of that pull back and the extent of that pull back. We are a trading nation and we must thus be engaged in the world and we must be prepared to protect our interests just as Thomas Jefferson did when he sent the Marine to Tripoli to deal with Muslim Pirates that were interfering with U.S. shipping.

      • Sunshine49

You forget that Ron Paul will NOT be making these decision alone. He is NOT Obama, who just does what he wants and to hell with Congress and the Constitution.

      • http://simplynatural.blogtownhall.com/2011/04/08/wholistic_libertarianism.thtml SimplyNatural

Henry, your comment was excellent. As a self styled libertarian, I appreciate Ron Paul’s view on liberty…for example..I can say: you are the owner of your adult body, and NO DAMN government has the right to tell you what you can or must do with it in the privacy of your home. That is a self evident truth, but one that is sadly opposed by all our drug laws & many others. I strongly suspect Ron Paul would agree. But on the other hand, Ron Paul’s statement that he opposed the killing of Osama Bin Laden, as it occurred,is the epitome of what’s wrong with him. Bin Laden was the self confessed architect of the murder of 3000 Americans, a foreigner and not entitled to any rights under our Constitution. Paul’s viewpoint on this is out of touch with common sense and the overwhelming majority of Americans.

      • DaveH

You need to study up on the event, Simply. It wasn’t legal. We invaded the space of a sovereign country without their permission to take the supposed Bin Laden. Typical for the lawless US Government these days.

      • DaveH
      • billgoatee

Henry, you are right. Another thing to look at. It only takes 10% to 15% of the population as a political party or religious faction to take over any nation, and commence to screw it up. Most Germans were not members of the nazi party. They were just going on about their lifes, working, raising kids, not paying attention about what was going on around them, about about the same thing thats going on in America right now. Once they got in power, the country was screwed. This is the reason so-called moderate muslims need to stand up & speak out against muslim terrorism. The koran teaches the muslim to lie & deceive, a stab-in-back philosophy to achieve a world caliphate, and believe me they are trying every means they can to achieve this goal. Once you get rid of America & the constition,as we know it, it is all over for the world. The great satan “America” and the little satan “Israel” need to be destroyed as they are now for this to be accomplished. We have to listen to what they are saying and what they really mean when they talk. Every muslim leader I have every heard give a speech adhere to this philosophy. All of the middle east will come under one caliph, probably sooner than we expect. They will work outward from there. They are already making inroads here in America and every western nation as we discuss this. We cannot as freedom loving Americans sit on the sidelines and let this happen. We cannot pull back as Ron Paul wants us to do. There is to much at stake in the coming election to elect Ron Paul as President of this country. By the same token, we need to do everything we can to see that President Obama is not reelected to lead this great country. I implore everyone to read, learn the facts about whats going on. The truth is out there people, just look it up. I do not trust to many of our elected officials to tell me the truth and the whole truth. So lets get out and vote. We can get this country back to being run as the constition says it should.

      • Deerinwater

Of course, what you are saying Karolyn seems to be the “case”. BUT, still you can’t help but acknowledge they are ‘practicing’ Muslims and such disrespect, intolerance and “command” IS written into the TEXT their faith is founded on.

I find it most troubling from any viewpoint. If this can be explained away and make me feel better, someone representing the Muslim faith needs to try. To date, I have not heard such a debate or defense that goes what you offer, “Well,~ most of them are nice” falls far short of any explanation.

The Christian Faithful and their Holy Text is bad enough, as one can read “An eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth”. That it is written into the text describing early Jewish Tribal Law encourages some zealful Christian to accept and respond in kind as appose to the love and turn the other cheek Jesus subscribed later in the Gospels.

      • Karolyn

In the little reading I have done, Deer, it would appear that the Koran and the Bible have a lot more in common than one might think, in that interpretations and translations abound. Same old same old – It’s all in the eye of the beholder. It’s just too bad more people didn’t “behold” with the same eye.

      • Flashy

Organized religion is the greatest invention to control the masses. If they obey doctrine, the go to the Elyssian Fields. Dishonor the doctrine (i.e. the self proclaimed leadership who claim they have a local land line to the Man)…and it’s Tartarus for you.

Except for the story line and the organizational chart, there is very little difference between Christianity and Islam. And neither will admit it.

      • vicki

        Flashy writes:
“Except for the story line and the organizational chart, there is very little difference between Christianity and Islam.”

Just certain minor details like what to do with non-believers. There is very little difference between CO and O2 but one will kill you and one will keep you alive.

Now let us look at the 2 religions.
        http://www.dianedew.com/islam.htm
Note especially section “On Eternal Judgment”, “On Murder, Violence, War & Oppression” and “On the Treatment of Women”. use the search function to find the quoted headings or just scan down the list.

      • Flashy

Vicki…your refusal to recognize history is amazing. Allow me to quote from referenced fact from the last Crusade. As a city was being burned and destroyed, one of the advisors mentioned there were Christians being raped and murdered as well as muslims in the city being razed. The reply was “Let god sort them out”.

There are many stories of the Spanish rule in S America who killed the natives for any reason…sometimes just because they awoke with a hangover…the natives weren’t “true christians’ and thus had no soul…so death was appropriate since they weren’t “of the living”.

The 30 years War, The “troubles” of Ireland, Pogroms against Jews up to and including WWII in E. Europe and occupied W. Europe (the Nazis din’t round them all up by their lonesome y’know).

Vicki…you can’t defend the indefensible. All of the above and throughout history, Scripture has been cited to legitimize the blood lust of religions against “non-believers” …

      • Vicki

Flashy. That bad men will use their mis understanding of God for their own ends has been known since the beginning. That you accuse Christians for the actions of a few non-Christians (who might claim to be Christian) is so very stereotypical of liberalism.

Another common situation is that of the owner of firearms. Liberals are always blaming the innocent gun owner or even the gun for the criminal acts of a VERY few people.

~2 Billion followers of Christ didn’t burn any cities last year. Can you say the same about some other groups. Can you say the same about your own government? Please stop blaming Christ and/or the Christian religion for the acts of Satan’s followers.

      • Dr Anthony L James Sr

Do you truly know any foreign Islamic peoples, or even foreign nationals. I dont believe you are igornant, just min informed. Non arabic or Islamist that do not live inside the asian area some do abhor violence, however most that do live in asiatic reigons, demand violence, they have a hatred of the United States, cause we are the new poster child of the world, as the only super power in existance. This ia a jelousy of not only being upset that we are number one in technology, growth and life, cause of our belieaf that man has the power and ability to achive goals and find happiness with out a emon or gruhu to tell then what god wants them to do, they want total control. And the fact that we suppourt Isreal cause they feel they cheated out of ruling the world by the Jews. Believe this, they hate us, and want to destroy us, our lives, ecconomy and our happiness, they feel that Aliah has empowerd them to rule the world and will do anything to achive that goal. You can not talk to them, reason with them or try to befriend them. You are not islamic, you are a infedil and they do not respect you or honor any agreements cause you are not islamic. Even here in the United States, islamic born and raise here will not disavow or dispute all the terrorist acts, why the emons teach that islamic people stick together. That is the problem.

Please take a look at all the Muslim states or Muslim majority countries like Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt, Iraq, Indonesia, and even those with significant Muslim minorities such as the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, non-Muslims are either discriminated and persecuted, or intimidated into leaving their birthplaces by the thousands. All this, DESPITE the fact the majority of Muslims want to lead normal lives in peace.

Add Turkey to that list, where what some historians consider the beginning of true Christianity has seen Churches bulldozed under and Mosques erected right on top of them, all but wiping out non-Muslim religions. It may have taken them 150 years to accomplish it, showing just how patient Sharia- pimping Muslims truly are.

I really wish I could remember her name or book, but the interview was very interesting and compelling.

Anybody who looks into 9/11 and still believes the official story is insane and in denial of the laws of physics. Also, people who think Muslims in general are evil and out to get us really need to find a new country to live in. America is still America and i’m about to throw away freedom because you cowards are checking under your beds at night for men wearing beards and turbans. Grow up, children. Time to defend America FOR REAL. Read the Constitution. If we are fighitng terrorists who hate America, then why are we helping them out by sacrificing freedom (the whole idea of America). Its because we are being conned into serfdom. Man-up, children.

      • Vicki

      • DJ

Pretty self-important blather for someone who shows they are in denial of the reality of what happens when thousands of jet fuel explodes, and the resulting heat transfer from it Jeff. It’s almost as if you have never heated a cast iron skillet up to 400 degrees and then burnt your hand when grabbing the handle, because the handle too is 400 degrees. Ever do any welding or brazing? Ever step out from Mommies basement and live in another country? I,ve lived in Europe, Canada and all parts of the U.S. I have seen firsthand how Muslims hate all non-Muslims, and the so-called “peaceful” moderates also spend their lives giving money and covering up for the radical elements out of fear of being ostracized of even killed themselves. It appears that it is you who needs to grow up .

      • Alan

        Well Vigilant -
You are correct that F111s were used. As far as first-handed goes, let’s see, repeated factional bombings of southern German bureaus and Kasernes where I was based. It got so bad in the summer of 1986 we were on lock down and could not leave due to the potential threating position the terrorist groups had taken. Let alone the fact of heightened concern around Fulda Gap where our MI materials were stationed. Specifics are specifics and we could also debate the issues surrounding the Gulf war and what went on there. My point is that foreign entanglements only bog us down into protracted wars. We can continue to beat one another up or we can make conscience decisions to take another path next year. But, I guess some will never be content.

      • CJM

Bullhockey! If there are those “peace loving muslims” located in the US, then why aren’t they exposing the terrorist cells like they should? Because the felons are the “peace loving muslims’” brothers as bin ladin continuously said in his diatribes against the US? They are nothing more than a bunch of murdering, thieving, conniving INFIDELS who want to be the global leader and force everyone, including you, Karolyn, to be THEIR SLAVES. Hope you like your burkkah–what putrid color do you wish to wear? And are you willing to be ‘circumcised’ along with your daughters? Or your sons become the victims of the pedophiles the Middle East produces? I have yet to find a peace loving muslim–especially one with ties to islam.

I’ve read the Koran twice, front to back, and the bible 5 times front to back. They are not very dissimilar in their teachings. Honestly its no different than the bible advocating the killing of gays or “witches”.

There are radical crusader christians the same as there are radical muslims, and neither are a majority. Such radicals, on either side, should not be thought to represent the whole of each respectively.

Religious or not, you shouldn’t let your fear drive your reason. It makes one stupid.

But Of course, you are entitle to your views, regardless how you came by them or even if they are wrong. But you are right about one thing, he is not GOP. Mr. Paul make no such claim but is being forces to “run” under their banner by necessity and complexity of our two party dominated election process.

Yes, you could say that he is extremely progressive and threat to both parties as he attempt to steer that nation back away socialism and a federal government that has failed to provide quality leadership for all of it’s pandering and compromising of principals as offered by the original Constitution.

Ron Paul is a Constitutionist and a American Patriot.

The man for the job at hand? Maybe, I too hold my doubts as I find good ideas a dime a dozen and the sought job description is not “KING” but “President”.

Ronald Ernest “Ron” Paul (born August 20, 1935) is an American physician, author, Republican United States Congressman, and a candidate for the 2012 Republican Party presidential nomination. He has been an outspoken critic of American foreign and monetary policies, recognized for sharply opposing his own party on many issues. Since 1997, Paul has represented Texas’s 14th congressional district, which covers an area south and southwest of Houston that includes Galveston. Paul serves on the House Committees on Foreign Affairs and Financial Services, and on the Joint Economic Committee, as well as chairman of the Financial Services Subcommittee on Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Paul is a graduate of Gettysburg College and Duke University School of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree. He served as a flight surgeon in the United States Air Force from 1963 until 1968. He worked as an obstetrician-gynecologist during the 1960s and 1970s, delivering more than 4,000 babies, before entering politics in 1976.
Following his 2008 run for the Republican Party presidential nomination, Paul became the initiator of the advocacy group Campaign for Liberty and his ideas have been expressed in numerous published articles and books, including Liberty Defined: 50 Essential Issues That Affect Our Freedom (2011), End The Fed (2009), The Revolution: A Manifesto (2008), Pillars of Prosperity (2008), A Foreign Policy of Freedom: Peace, Commerce, and Honest Friendship (2007), and The Case for Gold (1982). His son Rand Paul was elected to the United States Senate for Kentucky in 2010, making the elder Paul the first Representative in history to serve concurrently with a child in the Senate.[3] Paul has been characterized as the “intellectual godfather” of the Tea Party movement.[4][5] He has become well known for his libertarian ideas on many political issues, often differing from both Republican and Democratic Party stances.
On July 12, 2011, Paul announced that he would refrain from seeking another term in Congress in order to concentrate on his presidential bid.[6] He campaigned for President of the United States twice before, first during 1988 as the nominee of the Libertarian Party and again during 2008 as a candidate for the Republican nomination.

He never said 9/11 was Americas fault and unless you are a policy maker that discounts you, he said it was the foreign policy of the US that cause the attacks. Bradley Manning is a hero and in the future he will be acquitted and they know it, the only reason they are mounting this show is to stop and scare anybody else that dares to do the same thing again as they have notice the dissenters are only adding everyday.
You could feed your ignorant famlily and friends your rethoric arguments about Paul but somebody with a little bit of logic could notice that Ron Paul is a real patriot and our last hope.

In responce to your link I read the responces to it and found one of the replies that seems credible…I want to link it as many people will only read the link & not the replies to it. So here it is…

        Voltaire says:

        1/15/2009 at 1:22 pm

“The issue is the impression in some peoples minds that somehow NGO’s are official UN arms.
Some years ago I web wandered into the Lucifer Publishing/Lucis Trust, which claims to be the Spiritual foundation of the UN.

        From their web site:

        The Lucis Trust

The Lucis Trust is the Publishing House which prints and disseminates United Nations material. It is a devastating indictment of the New Age and Pagan nature of the UN. Lucis Trust was established in 1922 as Lucifer Trust by Alice Bailey as the publishing company to disseminate the books of Bailey and Blavatsky and the Theosophical Society. The title page of Alice Bailey’s book, ‘Initiation, Human and Solar’ was originally printed in 1922, and clearly shows the publishing house as ‘Lucifer Publishing CoIn 1923. Bailey changed the name to Lucis Trust, because Lucifer Trust revealed the true nature of the New Age Movement too clearly. (Constance Cumbey, The Hidden Dangers of the Rainbow, p. 49). A quick trip to any New Age bookstore will reveal that many of the hard-core New Age books are published by Lucis Trust.

At one time, the Lucis Trust office in New York was located at 666 United Nations Plaza and is a member of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations under a slick program called “World Goodwill”. In an Alice Bailey book called “Education for a New Age”; she suggests that in the new age “World Citizenship should be the goal of the enlightened, with a world federation and a world brain.” In other words – a One World Government New World Order.

Luci’s Trust is sponsored by among others Robert McNamara, former minister of Defence in the USA, president of the World Bank, member of the Rockefeller Foundation, and Thomas Watson (IBM, former ambassador in Moscow). Luci’s Trust sponsors among others the following organizations: UN, Greenpeace Int., Greenpeace USA, Amnesty Int. and UNICEF.

I didn’t correct the various spelling errors, such as Luci’s instead of Lucis. I wonder if Luci is evil like Lucifer?
Additionally there is Benjamin Crème and Maitreya! The World teacher…One woman clains to have channeled Maitreya to the UN.. I listened to that and it was creepy.
Seems a lot of nuts are somehow attracted to the UN.

Well now that that information is out, we will all have to make a decision. I don’t think I am interested in joining any of these clubs….but to each his own.”

God Bless & I hope this helps shed some light on the insiduous UN!

        Good post, TML.

      • George E

        TML,

Just for my own education, please tell me where the Bible advocates killing gays and witches?

      • Howard

        Great question, George.
Perhaps we are not reading enough Bible, I certainly don’t remember the Bible advocating that we are instructed to kill gays and witches.
However, Ecclesiastes chapter 10, verse 19 says “A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things”. What does this verse say to us about the current election cycle? That money will decide? Looks like another four years with the Narcissist in Chief.

      • TML

Lev. 20:13 – If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them

Exodus 20:18 – thou shall suffer not a witch to live

You may proceed with your appologetics, but I won’t respond until you first apply the same convictions of appologetics to the verses in the Koran that so many Christians JUDGE Muslims for.

        Good day

      • professor

George, I would also like to know where the Bible commands that Christians should “Kill all non-believers!”

I would say that is a BIG difference between the Bible and the Koran.

      • TML

Deuteronomy 13:7-12 – “If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him.”

      • JR

I have also read the Qu’ran twice, cover to cover, and the Bible perhaps hundreds of times. That you would conflate the two is utterly staggering. Only the most superficial reading of the Bible could cause one to come to this type of conclusion. I strongly suggest you read Paul Copan’s “Is God a Moral Monster” short work if you have problems with the Old Testament. However, in sum, from the very start – dealing with utterly basic issues such as God’s immanence, His means of interacting with man, His method of dealing with sin – and indeed the very nature of sin itself – etc. are world’s apart.

I strongly urge you to better inform yourself. Copan is a good start.

      • TML

Superficial? I think you mean reasonable. Of course you would be shocked, since you hold a religious bias for one, and against the other as your prerequisite to reading them. Try reading them both objectively, if that’s possible for you, and judge the facts objectively. It might interest you to know that the Muslims recognize also the old and new testament. Islam, is technically supposed to be the children of Ishmael, first born of Abraham, to which it is written god will make a great nation.

        Good day

      • JR

Very weak comment. I have also read the Qu’ran twice, cover to cover, and the Bible perhaps hundreds of times. That you would conflate the two is utterly staggering. • SM ISAC

If you have really read both Koran and the Bibles (“Old” and “New”) and came to your conclusion, then you have missed some key, crucial differences: The Old Testament is a historical document. The prophets like Abraham and Moses do not claim to be perfect human beings, though links to the divine whereas according to Islam, Mohammed is the SEAL of prophet, the last and the perfect one to be emulated for all times. This is the reason that Sharia, the Islamic jurisprudence has remained the moral and legal code reminiscent of the 7th century dessert tribes without changes.

      • Michael Hardesty

Nothing historical about the genocidal Old Testament, it’s a pile of contradictory nonsense written and rewritten by certified lunatics whose only expertise was in making up nonsensical wordsalads.
Take your Christ Cult and go to another planet.
You have caused nothing but misery and damage on earth.

      • TML

SM ISAC says – “then you have missed some key, crucial differences: The Old Testament is a historical document. “

I don’t know about you, but I consider them both to be ‘historical’ documents simply due to their age, even if someone considers them fictional stories.

SM ISAC says – “The prophets like Abraham and Moses do not claim to be perfect human beings, though links to the divine whereas according to Islam, Mohammed is the SEAL of prophet, the last and the perfect one to be emulated for all times. “

But, according to Christians… Jesus does, and they worship Jesus as if he were God. Muslims see Jesus as a prophet, but don’t worship him, nor do they worship Mohammed, because they believe there is only one God, and that we are all his ‘sons’ (and daughters).

SM ISAC says – “This is the reason that Sharia, the Islamic jurisprudence has remained the moral and legal code reminiscent of the 7th century dessert tribes without changes.”

Yes, and if they chose to do that, and it works for them… let them. If that scares you, then you should educate yourself with exactly what Sharia law consists of.

But I will say, there is no difference in such a system of Sharia law, as you describe it, and the Christians who seek to make their religious morals into law, based on text from many centuries before Christ. (gay marriages for example) How then can you belittle, and fear, their culture and their ways… when Christians right here at home are trying to practically do the same thing: make their ‘barbaric’ religious morals into legal code?

Until you can tell the truth about yourself, you can never tell it about others.

      • professor

        sm,

You referred to islam’s “last and perfect prophet,” the one to be emulated!

This “perfect one” was a warmonger, pedophile, killer of the innocent, mutilator, and destroyer of countries…a barbarian of the worst kind. This is the man that muslims emulate and revere?

It is no wonder that muslims treat their women like “property” to do with what they will , put bombs on their own children and blow them up, mutilate their enemies before sawing off their heads, kill thousands of innocents, practice bestiality, and try to kill all the infidels in the world!

Sure am glad Millicents said that the Bible is the exact opposite of the Koran….wouldn’t want to think about Jesus Christ being compared to the “Perfect One.”

      • professor

I believe I hear a “muslim apologist” that knows nothing about the experience of religion, but yet states there is no difference between Christians and muslim terrorists!

      • CJM

The similarities exist because the so-called mohammed plagerized the original early Christian texts….he was well travelled and knew about the christians of his day. They didn’t have plagerism laws back then.

      • CJM

FYI Addendum: The author of the Qur’an, Muhammad, was born in 570 c.e.; he wrote the Qur’an beginning in 609 c.e. and died in 632 c.e. It was not until 650 c.e. that the shar’ia came into existence and became the legalistic law of the Middle East. According to the ORIGINAL Muslim texts women and children were to be the prime beneficiaries of the almsgiving and were to be protected. That was destroyed with the incorporation of the shar’ia, when women and children were reduced to chattel that have a ‘value’ less than that of the livestock. The shar’ia reveres manhood and promotes male supremacy, particularly in regrds to sexuality….which is why the female gender is mutilated. There are many resources available to the general public if one cares to look it up.

      • Lawrence Ekdahl

The bible does advocate the killing of witches and queers, but that is only for Jews under mosaic law. True christians do not advocate murdering anyone. Romans 13 asserts that the government ordained by God has the responsibility of putting to death murderers. Misguided so called christians down through history have thought to take justice into their own hands and kill muslims or even other christians with whom they disagree.

      • DAVE

        AMEN!

      • Michael J.

        Jimmy D.
Apparently you are unaware that Iran’s military is no match for ours even if they have a few nukes. And I know all about the 12th Imam, and that they would like nothing better than to start Armageddon to hasten his return. But being possessed of a shade-tree diploma in human nature as I am, let me assure you that the Mullah’s although willing to create death and destruction on others including their own countrymen, are somewhat reluctant to see the prayer rug under their knees warmed by a thermo nuclear retalliation even from, and most especialy from Ron Paul with the consent of the Congress.

      • Pepper

So we should go kill these “heathens” and their women and children first! Just in case they take over the world. Jimmy, you get on up to that front line.Or you could just go research for your self instead of just listening to all the propaganda and talking points.

      • eddie47d

Sorry Jimmy those aren’t our countries to own or control. We are the United States of America not the United States of the Middle East. We have our own borders to live within and territory to protect. We have wore out our welcoming map in these Globalist conquests and the blow back has not been favorable. We shouldn’t be trying to export our religious beliefs anymore than we would want them to do it to us.It’s unbelievable that we try so hard in winning these new Crusades and like the first ones these Crusades are not winning friends but creating enemies. As far as those chemicals go they were sold to Iraq from France,Russia and the USA. So apparently we approved of them in people control.

      • Eve

Actually if you go to Ron Paul’s site you can easily find what he intends for our military. It is to use the money that we have spent overseas and gained nothing from to build a military with new technology that would be used to DEFEND our country. He wants us to have the greatest military on the face of this earth. I would suppose he thinks we deserve this since all those foreign countries throw our efforts to help them back in our faces. Help only works if it is given by charities and people who wish to donate to them. The government has proven it is of little help to those in need. Most of the money winds up in the pockets of dictators and bureuocrats.

      • Tammy Wolff

        Well said.

      • Geno

The core of the dear mongers beliefs rests on the notion that Muslims are determined to kill infidels.

Here is where this comes from:

Muslims have the belief that as of now, the world is a house of war Dar al-Harb & till it accepts Islam it will remain so. Thus, the duty of every Muslim is to turn this “house of war” to a “house of peace” Dar as-Salam.

Now how do they achieve it? The Quran provides them with a solution. i.e kill non Muslims if they refuse Islam.

“Muhammad said, ‘You are commanded to carry out jihad against the unbelieving infidels until they submit to Islam’ ” (Qur’an 47:4)

Qur’an (8:12) & 107 other verses in the Quran echo the same message of Jihad.

Muslims are also given the assurance that if they kill non Muslims they will get eternal rewards.

Quran (9.111): Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they FIGHT IN HIS CAUSE, AND SLAY AND ARE SLAIN: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur’an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme.

Verses like Qur’an (4:74) & many others speak of eternal rewards.

So basically Muslims don’t care even if they die while doing their Jihad because Allah has promised an eternal reward for them. Muslims that follow Islam are very faithful towards their religion & they believe that whatever is there in the Quran is for real. This is Santorum’s belief.

But is all this fear mongering justified?

This is not the belief of most Muslims.

Actually the “Muslims must kill infidels” mentality is taken out of context and taken to fundamentalist levels called “Jihad” (misinterpreted as “holy war”), but most Muslims believe in the code within the Qu’ran which stipulates that it is not okay to harm “people of the book”. “People of the book” are Jews and Christians, the Islamic faith is based on the Old and New testament, the Qu’ran is written as an additive with many of the same characters and beliefs, even Jesus is in the Qu’ran….”jihad” actually means “to struggle.” The truth is Muslims are commanded to struggle in their faith just like all the other “people of the book.”

Always keep in mind that people are people and fundamentalism is everywhere. Please don’t let a stereotype ruin your understanding of a vast group of people.

The idea of killing infidels actually came out of the sect of Muslims in Saudi Arabia. And we are allies with Saudi Arabia! Go figure!

Now that doesn’t mean there are some fundamentalist Muslims who do want to kill infidels. And the CIA is quick to exploit those people. But this no different than the fact that some Christians want to kill Muslims or some Jews want to kill Muslims. However, to classify an entire group of people is ignorant and racist.

Most Muslims are peaceful and rational people. In fact, the reason most conflict is happening in the Middle East is not because of religion (although some is), but rather because of rampant poverty and oppression.

Americans have been taught to believe the opposite, however, so that those in power can justify aggression to further their own agendas (e.g., New World Order and the Military Industrial Complex). In addition, if we are constantly living in fear (i.e. of terror or drugs or whatever) then we become dependent on those in power for our own safety. Most of the time threats are constructed not out of rationality or logic, but out of a need to keep the majority of people in fear and to facilitate dependency. That’s why we have the Patriot Act and the NDAA.

Consider this fact: There’s 1.2 billion Muslims in the world today. If even a small percentage of those people (say 1% or 12 million) were actively engaged in wanting to kill Christians, don’t you think we’d be in big trouble? So what does the math allow us to conclude?

That the very vast majority of Muslims just go on with their daily lives and have better things to do, like most other people on Earth, than to plot ways to kill this or that perceived enemy.

So don’t let politicians with an agenda turn you into the obsessive minority of humans that is ultimately causing all the problems. In my opinion, Santorum is a war monger. Remember, he was on the Defense appropriations committee. Do you think he has an agenda?

Ask yourself who benefits from endless wars against Muslims? The Military Industrial Complex! Our young men and women are sent to risk life and limb to fight a hyped up enemy so a few people can get rich from the profits of war.

Murder is a major sin in Islam! The only circumstance in which a Muslim is allowed to kill someone is in self defense, as it is in America. Muslims are not out to kill anyone. Also there is no such thing as ‘holy war’ in Islam. “Jihad’ just means ‘struggling’. The only reason there were so many wars in the prophet Muhammad’s time was because the non-Muslims were the ones killing the Muslims. So in other words it was just self defense on their part.

“Dispute not, unless in kindly sort, with the Christians and the Jews; save with such of them as have dealt wrongfully with you: And say ye, ‘We believe in what hath been sent down to us and hath been sent down to you. Our God and your God is one, and to him are we self-surrendered” (Quran 29:45).

If Muslims are not allowed to even dispute with Christians, unless “in kindly sort”, then how are they allowed to just go around and slaughter them?

I believe most of the terrorism we see is sponsored by the CIA. There are some ignorant “Muslims” who actually believe the Jihad is a Holy War and are persuaded to carry out the CIA’s agenda. There is a lot of proof of that. In fact, Al-Qaeda was created by the CIA during the Afgan war against Russia. Osama Bin Laden was a CIA asset. Terrorism is the perfect enemy the U.S. needed to convince the people to give up their liberty for security. Hence the unconstitutional Patriot Act and the NDAA, which makes every American a Terror suspect. Santorum will not repeal the patriot Act. In fact, he wants to strengthen it and take away more of our liberty.

In my opinion, the Constitution should always be first. If we compromise our Constitution to defend ourselves from terrorism then the terrorists have already beat us!

      • Karolyn

Absolutely agree, however, when emotions get mixed in with the thought process anything can happen.

      • Millicent

Tell that to Ron Paul a serial violater of Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution for 24 lackluster years in Congress. He is aka Porkulus Paul because he brings home the bacon. Ron Paul is just another career politician and lower than a lot of them. He is pure trash and a threat to our nation. This garbage pile is to the left of the Kenyan.

      • Geno

Milli: Where do you get your info? I think you are being intellectually dishonest here. Ron Paul explained on several debates exactly what he does when bills are proposed. The key is in the Constitution, as you claim to know: The Feds do not have money that does not come from the states or the printing press. Ron Paul does his job within the constraints of a corrupt system to ensure tax payer money is returned to his constituents where it belongs. It is unfortunate that he has to resort to ear marks to accomplish this but it is what it is. When he is president I am sure he will make some change so this kind of thing is not necessary.

      • http://n/a sheepdog

You’re very slick, Geno. Have you been practicing taqiyya for long? Most that read your comments will accept them as learned commentary, out of ignorance.
You and I both know that Islam is derived not only from the Koran, but the Hadith and Siri, as well. This forms the triad. Furthermore, that Sharia is the law of Islam and is inviolate.
Taqiyya means sacred deception and is encouraged to be practiced on Kafirs (non-muslims) as you well know. Most non-muslims, unfortunately, do not understand that it is acceptable for Muslims to lie and deceive non-muslims in all things.
You say jihad is merely a struggle. In Bukhari 4, 52, 268 Mohammed said, “Jihad is deceit.” Could it be that you’re practicing jihad as well as taqiyya.
You and I both know that Islam cannot be compared to Christianity for the simple reason that Islam is a complete civilization with a detailed political system, religion and a legal code–the Sharia.
Jihad is political action with a religious motivation.
Political Islam is the doctrine that deals with the non-Muslim.
Sharia Law is the political implementation of the Islamic civilization.

HERE IS THE BOTTOM LINE, GENO:
Article 6 of the US Constitution states that the Constitution is the highest law of the land and cannot be subjugated to any other legal code.
Sharia claims it is the highest law in the world and that all other legal codes must submit to Islamic law.
Every time Sharia law is implemented in the USA it is in direct violation of the US Constitution.

Yea, you’re slick; but not quite slick enough, Geno.

      • Geno

Sheepdog: Not slick, just looking for the truth. You reference a few fundamentalist’s ideas. I studied the Old Testament, New Testament and Koran. In my opinion they are all ravings of primitive thought processes that we should all abandon. The world would be a better place without the hate filled rhetoric of these convoluted tomes.

But if what you say is true then the Muslims already won! They have succeeded at turning American into land of fearful robots who are willing to shred the Constitution to be saved from the evil bogeyman. Instead of the land of the free and the home of the brave we have become the land of the slaves and the home of the cowards.

If you follow statistics, the 1.2 billion Muslims out there should be able to wipe Western civilization off the face of the map. Why don’t they? Are these 1.2 billion Muslims being unfaithful to the law?

If we are so afraid of the Muslim bogey man our leaders should be reinforcing the 2nd Amendment. They should be making laws that require us to get armed and trained. After all, we must all join in the fight to beat the Islamic threat.

If you look at our record in the past 10 years I think our military needs help. Those impoverished cave dwellers seem to be very good at warfare. Two of the most powerful military nations have failed to beat them! Why is that? Does Military Industrial Complex and war profits have something to do with it?

As Ron Paul said: If we want war then let’s declare war and beat them and get it done!

This is why Ron Paul is so important to our future. By focusing our defense budget on building a strong military here at home we have the ability to stop any threats. We can deploy an effective defense any where in the world in a matter of minutes. How many subs does Iran have? How many nuclear warheads and long range missiles? And if we make better use of our defense budget, as Ron Paul proposes, we can leverage advanced technologies to make any enemy stand down. And we can do this without the help of the TSA or NDAA. We can strengthen our borders. And if every American carries a weapon with them on every flight what terrorist would dare hijack a plane?

What do Americans have to fear but an overreaching government that over spends and over taxes and is a busy body in world affairs?

      • vicki

A strong military (that would be the standing army that we have and our forefathers warned us against) will not protect us for what are a few against the many. Our strength came from the WHOLE of the PEOPLE being armed and dangerous. THAT is why the 2nd Amendment. It’s about defense of the People from all enemies both foreign and domestic.

Thank God for the Oathkeepers.org and the fine people in our military who know that their allegiance is to the Constitution above the CIC and even Congress.

      • professor

sheepdog you have got the geno by the yang.

      • professor

Geno, good try covering up for what you call, “peace loving muslins.” I must have imagined those planes flying into the Twin Towers, manned by muslim pilots! But, of course, it had to be the fault of our own CIA, they are the ones really doing the “killing” of Americans. How dare us think badly of muslinms that have hated infidels (us) for as long as we can remember.

But, the muslims hate a lot of people. They even hate other muslims.
Iraq shouldn’t even be called a country as it is made up of “waring tribes” that have fought and killed each other for Centuries and will continue to fight each other until the end.. But, again, we must not be so hard on these “rational muslims” maybe the men are just frustrated since they have very few “dates.”

Then, you brought up the fact that muslims are “upset” because they are oppressed and indigent.. Don’t remember my having much to do with that… Maybe if muslims stopped the fighting long enough, they could start up one or two businesses, hire a few employees, or sell a little more oil. They could get a few more Trillion in US Dollars. Just a suggestion…

Or, the leaders could do what some other ME countries do. The oil money is split among all the citizens making everyone rich. None of the Kuwaities work, for example. They hire people from other countries to do all the labor..like building their palaces and such.
Possibly other ME countries could follow that example and the indigent could forget about killing Americans to work-off their anger.
        Just another thought.

Oh, and I am so sorry to hear that the poor, peaceful muslimns like mohammed, were just minding their own business and the Christians kept trying to kill them! How awful that must have been. We should give them reparations, at least! Those rational people like mohammed had to suffer undo mental anguish…

Now, we keep bothering the peaceful muslims because our politicians need something to do… They just “pick” on the poor muslinms until they have to fight back… we should be so ashamed of ourselves. Those people are minding their own business, bombing our embassies, and barracks and we never did them the “honor” of declaring war on them. Shame on us..

And, to TML, you said that Christians worship Jesus as God.. Not true!
Cut us a little slack. Evidently you are not Christian, probably an atheist. Christians know the difference between God and Jesus… At least when I pray, I pray to God…no one else!

Oh yes, TML, usually it is sexual perverts that would think U.S. laws against homosexuality are “barbaric.” Frankly, I am not sure which American laws could be called “barbaric.” If you want real barbarism go to the Middle East and test their laws against homosexuals. I believe that you will find the muslinms a little more eager to enforce their laws “man-boy love.” I am not sure how they dispose of homosexuals but I bet that it isn’t pleasant..

      • Laura G.

Professor, thank you for saying what needed to be said.

      • TML

“good try covering up for what you call, “peace loving Muslims.” I must have imagined those planes flying into the Twin Towers, manned by Muslim pilots!”

Immediately you show that your emotions have compromised your judgment by allowing the few radicals in those plans, to speak for entire nationS of Islam.

“And, to TML, you said that Christians worship Jesus as God.. Not true!”

Doctrine of the Trinity… it is true.

Oh yes, TML, usually it is sexual perverts that would think U.S. laws against homosexuality are “barbaric.”

Laws based on religious moral values which violate individual liberty are tyrannical. Believing that doesn’t make me a sexual pervert.

      • professor

TML a very weak response…thought you could do better..

BTW, this is a Christian nation and our laws are based on Christian values…just in case you have forgotten!!

We don’t strap bombs on our kids and blow them up.

We don’t cut off hands or arms as punishment.

We don’t “stone” women to death or beat them when we have had a bad day.

We don’t saw-off the heads of people we don’t like.

We don’t mutilate women and girls.

We don’t mutilate and disembowel our prisoners or give them a death of “one thousands cuts.”

        We don’t murder for “honor.”

We don’t hide our soldiers behind women and kids and endanger their lives to hide the cowardly.

And, your favorite, we don’t execute homosexuals.

And, I know that “the holy ghost” you believe we Christians worship would not condone any of these barbaric acts.

      • Joseph

What the professor conveniently left out:

BTW, this is a Christian nation and our laws are based on Christian values…just in case you have forgotten!!

        1. We don’t strap bombs on our kids and blow them up, but we do send in un-manned drones and kill, indiscriminately, innocent civilians. We also prey on our children, for sexual purposes (porn-industry), we abort them by the thousands, we medicate them, we indoctrinate them through the education system to make them obedient, non-thinking, automatons, to serve the imperialistic, and insatiable greed of the State!

We don’t cut off hands or arms as punishment, but we do rob, and oppress our citizens through our central banking system!

        2. We don’t “stone” women to death or beat them when we have had a bad day, but we do treat them as sexual objects. Islam and Muslims have long been accused of mistreating women. Whether it is by Orientalists, or the “average Joe” or Josephine relying on the media barrage of awful stereotypes to formulate his or her opinion. Muslim men are perceived as violent, cruel and barbaric towards women in general, but especially towards their own wives, daughters and sisters.

The fact is that such disgusting behavior does occur in the Muslim world, for many of the same reasons it occurs in the United States: a cycle of abuse in the family, socio-economic factors and jealousy.

However, what could be said to distinguish women’s mistreatment in the Muslim world is the general lack of Islamic education amongst men and women about day-to-day matters, including the roles and rights of women. Mistreatment and abuse of women, and wives in particular is condemned by Islam.

Consider the following Hadith narrated by Abu Huraira in Tirmidhi: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said,”The one most perfect in his faith is he whose conduct is best and the best amongst you is he who behaves best towards his wife.”

        3. We don’t saw-off the heads of people we don’t like, no, we just bomb the sh*t out of them!

        4. We don’t mutilate women and girls, but you may ask; HOW MANY ABUSED
WOMEN ARE THERE IN THE U.S.?
Women age 12 or older annually sustained almost 5
million violent victimizations in 1992 and 1993.

Women and girls ages 12 and up annually reported about 500,000 rapes and sexual assaults, almost 500,000 robberies, and about 3.8 million assaults.

WHO ARE THE ABUSERS
In 29% of all violence against women by a lone offender, the perpetrator was an intimate (husband,ex-husband, boyfriend or ex-boyfriend).

Women annually reported about 500,000 rapes and sexual assaults Friends or acquaintances of the victims committed over half of these rapes or sexual assaults. Strangers were responsible for about 1 in 5.

HONOR KILLINGS IN AMERICA?
Of the 5328 women murdered in 1990, FBI data indicate that about half or more of them by a husband or boyfriend.

VIOLENCE AMONG COUPLES
A minimum of 16 % of American couples experienced an assault during the year they were asked about it, and about 40% of these involved severely violent acts, such as kicking, biting, punching, choking, and attacks with weapons.

A 1993 national poll found that 34% of adults in the United States report having witnessed a man beating his wife or girlfriend and that 14% of women report that a husband or boyfriend has been violent with them.

THE PHYSICAL DAMAGE
CAUSED TO WOMEN AND CHILDREN BY ABUSE
During the last decade, domestic violence has been identified as one of the major causes of emergency room visits by women.

From 20% to 30% of the women who are seen by emergency room physicians exhibit at least one or more symptoms of physical abuse.

10% of the victims were pregnant at the time of abuse.

10% reported that their children had also been abused by the batterer.

        5. We don’t mutilate and disembowel our prisoners or give them a death of “one thousands cuts.” But, A federal judge in 1999 concluded that US prisons were pervaded by a “culture of sadistic and malicious violence.” In 1995, a federal judge found a stunning pattern of staff assaults, abusive use of electronic stun devices guns, beatings, and brutality at Pelican Bay Prison in California, and concluded the violence “appears to be open, acknowledged, tolerated and sometimes expressly approved” by high ranking corrections officials.
In recent years, U.S. prison inmates have been beaten with fists and batons, stomped on, kicked, shot, stunned with electronic devices, doused with chemical sprays, choked, and slammed face first onto concrete floors by the officers whose job it is to guard them. Inmates have ended up with broken jaws, smashed ribs, perforated eardrums, missing teeth, burn scars—not to mention psychological scars and emotional pain. Some have died.
Both men and women prisoners—but especially women—face staff rape and sexual abuse. Correctional officers will bribe, coerce, or violently force inmates into granting sexual favors, including oral sex or intercourse. Prison staff have laughed at and ignored the pleas of male prisoners seeking protection from rape by other inmates.

        6. We don’t murder for “honor.” We only murder for money!

        7. We don’t hide our soldiers behind women and kids and endanger their lives to hide the cowardly. But we do send our soldiers to die over unnecessary, and fabricated wars!

        8. And, your favorite, we don’t execute homosexuals. No, we don’t execute homosexuals, but we condone and encourage the lifestyle, because damn it, we’re a Christian Nation!

And, I know that “the holy ghost” you believe we Christians worship would not condone any of these barbaric acts.

        Amen professor!

      • DaveH

Apparently, Jimmy, you have not taken the time to figure out that for every action there is a reaction. We’ve caused the death of a couple of hundred thousand muslims, and they’ve cause the death of less than 20,000 of our people and most of them were messing around in the Muslims’ countries. What do you expect?
Face the facts, Jimmy, you and your like-minded cohorts are the Aggressors.

      • SM ISAC

Excuse me, but could you point us to some facts to back up your claim that US is responsible for a couple of hundred thousands death in the Muslim countries.

Bob Livingston also states in this article that 600,000 Iraqi children have been murdered by the US/allies. I keep hearing these numbers, but never real sources to support these claims.

      • http://www.boblivingstonletter.com/ Bob Livingston
      • Vigilant

SM ISAC ays, “Bob Livingston also states in this article that 600,000 Iraqi children have been murdered by the US/allies.”

        (1) Bob Livingston didn’t state that, he was quoting Bin Laden in a 1996 interview.

        (2) Bin Laden didn’t use the word “murdered,” he said “deaths,” in reference to UN sanctions against Iraq.

        (3) Mr. Livingston cites a December 1995 article that refers to Sarah Zaldi’s comments from the Center for Economic and Social Rights, a socialist organization that believes in “social justice” (where have we heard that before?).

        (4) No mention of the deaths of children under the “Oil for Food” program, in which Hussein’s henchmen took the money and used it for personal enrichment or military purposes. Sanctions or no sanctions, those children would have died anyway.

      • DaveH

SM, I don’t know about you but I don’t believe everything just because it is on the internet. There is way too much propaganda by the Marxist left…. Our friggin history books are even being “rewritten” for G’s sake!

There are people that don’t like America and they want to blame America for everything bad that happens in the world.

OK, then, stop taking our money!

Stop calling us when you need food and medical care, don’t bother us when there is a natural disaster! Keep your hands in your pockets and quit extending them wanting Billions of our nasty American dollars. And, don’t call us up when your neighbors invade your village and try to kill you. If you want police protection, we can send you a list of fees for the services of the U. S. Military! Soldiers don’t die for free anymore, and if they are wounded on your job, there will be a miscellaneous fee added to your bill.

And to those people that live in America and still hate her, I bet there are a few of us that would help you pack and get you on the bus.

      • http://www.personalliberty.com Patrick Corrigan

I agree we are definately involved in other countries affairs way too much. But, Iran is not just another country. That country is a loose cannon and its people do need some help. I also do not trust Muslims in general. I don’t want a lot of them living in my country. They do not get along with each other very well and I can imagine them carrying on there hatred against each other right here in our country. It seems not even they want to live in a theocracy. I certainly do not want the problems that England has.

      • DaveH

Nor is Afghanistan just another country, or Iraq, or North Korea, or Pakistan,….
There is always an excuse that arm-chair warriors will buy from the self-serving Leaders. The reality (with the possible exception of Afghanistan) is that the United States are the Aggressors. Our Leaders are the same kind of people who would be used by our Leaders as an excuse to attack another country.
There is only one excuse for killing another human being and that is self-defense. It doesn’t matter whether it’s done by individual citizens or People in Government, Murder is Murder. It’s high time we quit letting our self-serving Sociopathic Leaders lead us around by the noses, and it’s high time we quit excusing away immorality just to satisfy our blood-lust.

      • George E

        DaveH,

I interpret your remarks as being based on the assumption that the US has a record of invading other countries for the purpose of controlling them. If that is correct, I don’t see enough evidence to agree with this notion. I do see the US taking military action where it believes its strategic interests are at stake. While the difference may not be obvious to everyone, to me the primary difference is that we don’t often install and maintain puppet governments for long periods in countries where we have our military forces, and tax those countries or take their resources or assets for our benefit. If anything, it looks to me like more often than not we invest or simply give those countries a lot more money and things of value than we take from them. It hasn’t escaped my attention that countries that go to war with the US often come back economically stronger than they went into the war. I don’t see how that would happen if the US was simply in the business of conquering weaker nations for the purpose of controlling them.

      • DaveH

        George E,
Read this book. When you have come to the realization that Leaders are self-serving deceitful people, then we can talk:
        http://mises.org/books/pearl_harbor_greaves.pdf

FDR’s deceitful actions in WWII are just the tip of the iceberg. There have been false flag events to rally the citizens into almost every conflict we’ve been involved with. What kind of proof do you need? Perhaps you could do some studying at the wikileaks site to learn some reality about the Sociopathic Leaders’ motivations.

      • DaveH

And, George, you say “I interpret your remarks as being based on the assumption that the US has a record of invading other countries for the purpose of controlling them”.
Exactly why do you think we would invade any country militarily if it isn’t to control them? If the majority of their population feels they are being mistreated, don’t you think they could take care of their own problems? There are always two sides (or more) to every issue.

      • DaveH

Here’s another one you should read, George, to better understand the nature of Propaganda:
        http://mises.org/books/whileyouslept.pdf

      • professor

DaveH…”there is only one excuse for killing another human being and that is self-defence..”

DaveH tell that to the muslims!

You said that murder was against the law in muslim countries. It may be against the law, but “murder” isn’t even investigated, let alone prosecuted. Those people murder there own daughters and wives….and it is NOT against the law! Why would they be concerned about murdering someone other than a family member..like a slave (yes, there are slaves in the middle east.)

Posters on this board have very little knowledge of the muslim world, I don’t care how many quotes you can make or how many links you can post. Just because people read a bunch of “garbage” from muslim apologists, it doesn’t mean they have the inside information on how muslims “take out the trash!”

      • Jim C.

JC: I’m afraid you have it backwards. Dr. Paul’s belief that the U.S. Military can only be engaged if Congress has issued a “Declaration of War” is absolutely false, i.e., “anti-Constitutional”, as is his desire to have an open borders policy. The primary purpose of the U.S. Constitution is to ensure the safety and security of the American people, i.e., the “common defense”. Any failure of the Federal government to do that violates the Constitution.

      • JeffH

Jim C., What does our Constitution say about war? The Constitution divides war powers between the Congress and the President. This division was intended by the framers to ensure that wars would not be entered into easily: it takes two keys, not one, to start the engine of war.

The Constitution’s division of powers leaves the President with some exclusive powers as Commander-in-Chief (such as decisions on the field of battle), Congress with certain other exclusive powers (such as the ability to declare war and appropriate dollars to support the war effort), and a sort of “twilight zone” of concurrent powers. In the zone of concurrent powers, the Congress might effectively limit presidential power, but in the absence of express congressional limitations the President is free to act. Although on paper it might appear that the powers of Congress with respect to war are more dominant, the reality is that Presidential power has been more important–in part due to the modern need for quick responses to foreign threats and in part due to the many-headed nature of Congress.

ARTICLE 1, SECTION 8 – The Congress shall have Power: To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water…

ARTICLE II, SECTION 2 – The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States….

He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur….

        http://www.ronpaul2012.com/the-issues/national-defense/

        * Make securing our borders the top national security priority.

        * Avoid long and expensive land wars that bankrupt our country by using constitutional means to capture or kill terrorist leaders who helped attack the U.S. and continue to plot further attacks.

        * Guarantee our intelligence community’s efforts are directed toward legitimate threats and not spying on innocent Americans through unconstitutional power grabs like the Patriot Act.

        * End the nation-building that is draining troop morale, increasing our debt, and sacrificing lives with no end in sight.

        * Follow the Constitution by asking Congress to declare war before one is waged.

        * Only send our military into conflict with a clear mission and all the tools they need to complete the job – and then

Jimmy, any religion, depending on the clergy, can be taken and radicalized, stood on its head, or used in such a way as to reflect the maniacal delusions of its leadership. Not all adherents, or proselytes, will necessarily follow in their, spiritual leaders, footsteps. Need i remind you of Christianity, and the awful crusades?

      • professor

Hmmmmm, I thought the muslims fought the Christians in the Crusades. Didn’t realize that the Christians did all that fighting and the innocent muslimns didn’t life a finger against them…

Oh, and the women absolutely are not safe to go to Saudi Arabia….muslims don’t tolerate any woman from anywhere, running around thinking she is a “real person.” Sharia law is enforced with great gusto.. This is the only country left in the world where women are not allowed to drive a car..

Let me see…Do you believe the BIBLE? Well if you do, here is a good one for you…Jesus just tells everyone: (Luke 6:27-36)[27] “But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, [28] bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. [29] If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. [30] Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. [31] Do to others as you would have them do to you. [32] “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ love those who love them. [33] And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ do that. [34] And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ lend to ‘sinners,’ expecting to be repaid in full. [35] But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. [36] Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. And then a few sentences later says “But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.” -Luke 19:27…Hmmmm…sounds like either a major contradiction or possibly Christianity is a VERY VIOLENT religion that wants to kill Muslims. I think that it is a violent religion. Just look at what has been done in the name of it since it was “revealed”. ME? I’ll take Thomas Paine’s religion any day over ALL the worlds revealed religions…THE WORLD is my COUNTRY, MANKIND are my brothers and TO DO GOOD is my religion. Trash the rest.

      • professor

Mark, you have to have some sense when it comes to interpreting the Bible. But, I am glad for your input. It has given me a purpose.

The Lord your God, whether you like it or not, never meant for Christians to “tremble in the presence of their enemies.” Christians must protect their families and their right to freedom. It is more important than ever. Christian are not to stand-by, waiting for someone else to save them, never yielding their own swords. They no longer must accept masters, as in biblical times.

Christianity was not meant to make men weak! Christian are not called to bow at the waist and obey their enemies. Rather, being Christian makes men strong enough to act with honor, instead of becomimg barbarians. Nor, are Christians called to give away their wealth to criminals that would take all Christians have, and take it without guilt. That is not what is meant by the quotes to which you referred. You miss the point of what was written, in my opinion.

Time is now when Christians must fight (in many ways) to keep our religion from being obliterated from the face of the earth. This country and many of its citizens will face the wrath of God for turning away from Him. And, believe me, I am not a religious fanatic, no matter what it sounds like! But, I enjoyed living in a moral country that guaranteed my freedom. Now I see what is happening to this country! It made me realize how bad thing have gotten. There wasn’t a way that America could have been taken prisoner (some of us still think they are free) by our enemies if evil had not entrenched itself in many men. Everyone must come to realize that there truly is a battle between good and evil happening in America. All must choose a side and soon. No one will be allowed to “sit it out.” (And, for those of you that don’t care for religion, it will come to most before things are over. Til then maybe you can just fight for your right to enjoy and live free….)

“The total number of people killed during WW1 (including civilians) was 16.5 million

Eight million soldiers, including more than 50,000 Americans died. An estimated 12 million civilians died. German’s losses 1,700,000 killed and over 4,200,000 wounded. France had 1,300,000 deaths and over 4,200,000 wounded.

The total number of people killed during WW1 (including civilians) was 16.5 million

And 50-70 million killed in World War 2
Estimates range from about 50-70 million killed in World War 2. The Wikipedia article “World War II Casualties” favours the relatively high figure of 72 million. Of these, 61 million were on the Allied side and 11 million were on the Axis side. The article gives a figure of 23 million dead for the Soviet Union and 20 million for China. These figures of course include civilian dead. (Note that the figure for China was recently revised sharply upwards from earlier estimates of about 11 million).

For Germany the overall total is given as just under 7.4 million

Can Jimmy.D and other tell how many of 88 Millions were killed by Islamist or Muslims during WW1 & WW2? America and its Allies have killed millions of Muslims in Iraq and Afganistan. Do not they have right to kill you in revenge as you did with them. Sooner or later the Nature is going to take revenge from all those who have committed these crimes. Nature has its own way to take the revenge of the innocents who are being killed by America and its Allies! WAIT & SEE!

      • Jay

Jimmy says: Apparently Michael J and various others have not taken the time to actually read the Koran and see what it says about anyone who does not adhere to Islam and Sharia law. We are to die, preferably minus our heads.

Jimmy, you should read what the “Council of Trent” says regarding heretics. Are you at all familiar with the counter-reformation(Council of Trent) movement? Probably not.

What is Dr.Paul doing in office? Is his patients cured or dead?He is an antisimite and who knows what else. The idiot coward Bush was quoted is that the best you got the father of this recession that we are finally being brought out of.Bin Ladin is dead and who sent the Seals in and made our country safer.

      • Brian

Ralph Herman – you need to put your thoughts down in a more concise way…The way you have chosen is practically unreadable…

      • http://www.personalliberty.com Patrick Corrigan

RP doesn’t have to win the presidency, he has already won a lot. He has opened up a lot of eyes including mine. He is consistently the most honest and clear speaker on stage. He points out very clearly that our worst enemy is ourselves. We need to control our own spending and our own lives and then maybe we will deserve some respect from others.

      • DaveH

        Right on, Patrick.

      • JeffH

Patrick Corrigan, right on! Ron Paul is the only candidate that has it right…adhere to the supreme laws of the land, of the Constitution.

Bob Livingston, once again Thank You for your contributions of truth.

      • John Lilleburns ghost

        Exactly

      • Mark Are

Let me get this straight…so if Ron Paul wants to remove ALL foreign aid he is somehow an “anti semite”. But if the rest of the gang want to blow up all the rest of the brown people in the middle east somehow that is “ok”? And Paul’s followers are the kool aid drinkers? Say what?

    • Bill Lee

If you vote for RP as an independent you are voting to hand Obama the election and end our country. It will end as Perot did and the bad guys win. I can’t understand your logic. He should give it his best shot in the GOP. Frankly, Perry, Santorum and Paul should hand Gingrich the reigns and let him take out Romney and then Obama. He’s the only true conservative with a record that proves it. Right now the anit-Romney crowd is too crowded and will end-up handing the nomination to Romney and then….well it’s all over.

      • Michael J.

        Bill Lee,
Are you aware of Democrat support for Ron Paul which would come into play in the general election?

      • Pepper

Oh and don’t forget the “independents” and just plain tired of the same thing from Both parties!

      • Eve

This is true a growing number of fence sitters, Dems, etc..are now following Ron Paul. In Iowa they saw the greatest number of ‘first time’ voters they saw in years in support of Ron Paul.

      • Karolyn

After watching just part of the debates Saturday night, this democrat is even more determined to spread the word about Ron Paul. Rommney is looking like ing George these days; and Santorum is just plain scary!

      • Flashy

Huntsman would give Pres. Obama a run for the money. The rest will just be fodder for the talking heads on how bad the margin will be in the Obama landslide.

      • Buster the Anatolian

Huntsman’s family are major obama/democrat supporters that alone is reason have reservations about him. Huntsman has also praised obama and his policies, another reason to have reservations. Since you are an obama worshiper and support Huntsman that is evidence enough to conclude Huntsman is an obama clone or very near to one and definately not the candidate to vote for.

      • Millicent

Gary Johnson is running as a Libertarian, strike Dr. Dementia from that line. If by some insanity this lowlife were to try and run as an independent, Donald Trump would beat him to it. So much for lowlife pile of trash Dr. Dementia. How many Obama trolls do you think are voting for this garbage pile? In the end they will desert him and his following will be down to the 1% lunatic fringe where it really is. RON PAUL A LYING LOWLIFE AMERICA HATER. Despicable piece of trash.

      • eddie47d

Ron Paul loves America more than any other Presidential candidate and that includes Obama when it comes to foreign policy. The other candidates ( not sure about Huntsman) are DEADLY to say the least. The lust for war is entrenched within every breath they take. Foreign entanglements is their motto and conquests are their creed. Enough is enough!

      • DaveH

Obama would end our country? Maybe, Bill, but who else but Ron (or Gary Johnson) would make any effort to change the conditions that have gotten us here in the first place?
I heard that same kind of useless drivel when Jimmy Carter had trashed our economy. And guess what? Our Government just kept growing, like a slow cancer.
It amazes me that the majority of our Founders could have been so much wiser two hundred years ago than the majority of our citizens are now. That on top of a much greater struggle on their parts just to survive. They gave their lives for Freedom, and most of us can’t even be bothered to study and vote intelligently to keep ours. We should be ashamed of ourselves.

      • Millicent

Absolutely correct. Gingrich is the only one who can take Obama out. He has an outstanding record as Speaker. Obama’s supporters are using Dr. Dementia. They reregister or vote as Independents in the primaries to make it look like he has support. In reality, when these Obama people drop out and go back to the Kenyan, Dr. Dementia’s supporters will drop down to the fringe 1% nutjobs that actually support this pile of trash. He is Obama’s best weapon.

      • Average Joe

        Millicent,

      • eddie47d

You seem to be Gingrich’s best weapon and also a believer in more foreign entanglements Millicent. Ron Paul attracts Independents and those sick of the continual parade of those supporting the same old broken polices.

      • JeffH

Millicent, you must be a plant for the GOP! What is it you will lose if Ron Paul becomes POTUS? Your GOP job maybe but not your freedoms.

      • JeffH

      • http://deleted Claire

Gingrich??? You mean the con-artist? Good grief. He couldn’t be faithful to his own wives, let alone be faithful to America and all Americans. “Trust” means a lot to most people. Gingrich is one guy I would never trust in a million years. And you refer to Ron Paul as Dr. Dementia??? Perhaps you better take a Prozac and calm down. You are fighting a losing battle on this site.

      • TrvlSEA

I call BS on that comment.

Gallup put out a new poll that I received in my inbox this morning.

40% of voters are registered Independent
        31% Democrat
        27% Republican

Saying that he cannot win is untrue. Also, if you search poll after poll, you will see that head to head, Ron Paul has the best chance of beating Obama.

      • Deerinwater

LOL! funny, ~ people don’t want to accept all their parts or their origins. So they make up stuff! religion! That offers explanations and comfort and all is righteous in the shire, until you question it and find yourself deserving a label of scorn, an object of contempt.

      • Geno

Imagine there’s no heaven…in my opinion religion is the root cause of all evil in the world! The NWO agenda exploits these religious zealots to achieve their agenda to control the world and turn us all into slaves. God did not create religion. Man created religion to control and subjugate other men. Man created politics to control and subjugate others. Religion and politics are opposite sides of the same coin.

Now don’t misunderstand…there is a difference between religion and faith. This is what distinguishes the true Christian and the true Muslim from the fundamentalist zealots. Religion diminishes the glory of God. All religions are based on the same truths but these truths have been covered up in lies and self-serving agendas of religious leaders.

I believe Ron Paul understands the core truth of Christianity. He has true faith. That is why you never hear him talking about is faith like Rick Perry or Santorum or others. We should always be wary of those who make a show of their “christian” values. These are the hypocrites and liars.

      • professor

Geno you said that people who openly display their Christian values are “hypocrites and liars.” What does that make Tebow?

Religion is not a crutch for weak-minded people! It takes a very strong person to live in this world and practice Christian values.
Again, you can take Tebow, as an example. It would be much easier for him to “hide” his faith and not “offend” non-Christians. But he is a strong person and it is a good thing he is… I would not want to be one that criticizes a Christian like him. Whatever you want to call the “universal power” (God by any other name) it is there and you can tap into it, and it does bring rewards. For those that refuse to believe…too bad.

One other thought. The NFL should be holding Tebow up as an example and set him on their “collective shoulders.” In the past they have heaped way too much praise on the “criminal elements” and so has the press!

      • professor

        Other thoughts to Geno…

I fully understand your objection to “organized religion.” I have been disgusted by it many times.

But, I do not think that religion is the scourge of the universe..or the cause of all bad that happens in the world.

      • Millicent

The Islamists are waiting for the Mahdi to come and start a holy war against Israel and “people of the Book” as they call Christians. They await the Mahdi and the fake Jesus to war against the real Jesus. If Obama wins, we lose as he supports this being a Muslim himself. If Dr. Dementia runs as third party, then Obama wins. If Dr. Dementia by some insanity got the nomination we still lose as this Progressive Leftist is even more to the left than Obama. WWIII comes with either one.

      • Average Joe

Ron Paul / Andrew Napolitano 2012!!!!

I was thinking the same thing yesterday. Plus, Napolitano as VP would be an assassination deterrent.

    • Andee

      Michael,

Do you feel, too that the dumbing down of Americans is to blame for their inability to think cognitively and rationally. What Dr. Paul suggests is completely right; I have many friends across the ponds and one of the single heartaches and complaints that I hear is: We wish America would keep their nose out of our country, our lives.

Consider this: We poke our noses in where not wanted and this is what we do…we tell them, you need help in anything, we will help but you will do and live, run your country as we say…how fair is that and how right is that.

Romney gets in, mark my word we will have another Obama four years and therefore not a nation..he cannot be trusted and he surely is not smart enough to get this nation out of the chaos it is in..it is going to take not only a very deep thinker, but also one that is willing to buck the status quo in Congress and in other areas of our government.

Michael, do you not think: Ron is willing to work toward rescinding the Patriot Act (Americans live in fear of their government and fear leads to depression and depression leads to domestic violence and sometimes violence outside of the home), Patriot Act goes, TSA and Homeland will fade away….what these two departments are doing is illegal and Homeland is an illegal agency as I see it…then he is willing to go after and out of the UN…couple all of this together, freedom, freedom, return to feeling good about your country and the government, helps us want to reach out and move forward without fear of losing our lives and/or our little monies that we might have left, domestic violence recedes and people become hopeful and hope, hope can do a lot of things, that is for sure..we do not need Romney but you wait and see the RNC will force this culprit down our throats…he cannot think beyond the end of his nose and he walks with crap in his shoes.

      • Michael J.

        Andee,
For the rationale behind the dumbing down of Americans and the planned breakdown of the American family culture, read up on “The Origin of Political Correctness”

As for “poking our noses in the business of other countries”, The United States Military is the enforcement wing of the NWO agenda under the guise of protecting and spreading democracy.

Romney is being groomed as Obama’s replacement by the Bilderberg roundtable elite in the ongoing process of world domination. Party affiliation has little meaning except to preserve the illusion of the peoples choice in the left-right paridigm mind game.

I fully support Ron Paul, though his chances are faint. If he is however successful, he should be clad in Kevlar body armor even when visiting the restroom, and warned never to ride in open limosines past a school book depository.

    • Millicent

So how do you feel about Dr. Dementia wanting to put Dennis Kucinich in a high gov’t position? Give me a real good excuse for this anti American lowlife I can hardly wait.

    • Old Henry
    • Vic Bailey

Ron Paul COULD SAVE US ALL, as soon as the American people get their head out of their ass and QUIT believing the LIES of this SOCIALIST Government. How many times do the STUPID American people have to be LIED TO before they realize that this government hasn’t ever had the citizens best intrest in mind? These Bastards want blood and they don’t care who’s blood, they have proved that by killing thousands of our young men and women, and all about LIES, every war the US has been in since WWI they have ALL been started by a bunch of lies and FALSE Propaganda, and this Socialist Government is still doing it and keeping the citizens in the dark with MORE LIES. Ron Paul will try to stop the WAR CYCLE, STOP THESE LIARS, while we still have an America alive! Semper Fi.
