Police: Man Threw Out Weed At Courthouse

WINTER HAVEN, Fla., Jan. 5 (UPI) — Police in Florida said they arrested a man who allegedly threw more than 20 grams of marijuana into a trash can outside of a courthouse.
Winter Haven Police said Demetrius Nickerson, 31, went outside the courthouse after security personnel found a hard object in his pocket and they called police after the man returned and proceeded through security, WTSP-TV, St. Petersburg, Fla., reported Thursday.
Police said Nickerson is believed to have thrown away a bright yellow bag containing several small 1-gram bags of marijuana.
Officers arrested Nickerson when he emerged from the courthouse and retrieved the bag from the trash. He was charged with possession of drugs within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
