Coming In 2012: Target Tehran

Coming In 2012: Target Tehran

Target Tehran is a new production set to be released worldwide in 2012. Washington hopes it will be a blockbuster.

The story is of an all-out air and naval assault on Iran by the forces of freedom and democracy: the U.S. Navy and Air Force. It is yet to be decided if the U.S. infantry will be written into the script; but with an unlimited budget, it very well may happen.

Details of the story are undergoing final edits at the Pentagon. President Barack Obama has already signed on to direct the project. Insiders say it could save his career.

(Unfortunately,  Target Tehran will not follow the same plot as its namesake, Target Tokyo. When that film was released in 1945 — narrated by Ronald Reagan who, ironically, would become president — there was no doubt that America was fighting a global struggle for freedom. Many historians have called it America’s last good war.)

The first production, Iraq II, was directed by two Presidents at a cost of $1 trillion. Not since Ishtar has there been a bigger desert bust.

Almost 4,500 U.S. soldiers perished during the making of Iraq II. Another 32,000 U.S. soldiers were wounded. No U.S. agency officially keeps track of the “other side,” but estimates indicate that between 100,000 and 300,000 Iraqis died.

Counterpunch.com describes the Iraq war in a paragraph that reads like a movie review:

In the U.S. narrative — as repeated in U.S. media — this war was waged to prevent Iraq from terrorizing the world, never mind that all the “evidence” was trumped up. It is mind-boggling the notion of killing and maiming untold tens of thousands of Iraqis and displacing hundreds of thousands of them, and for U.S. politicians to continue to invoke notions of U.S. sacrifice and heroic deeds in the same breath.

There were also indirect costs of Iraq II, including a five-fold increase in the price of oil and a declining opinion of the United States. Two generations ago, America was seen as the great liberator. Today, many people consider it the great instigator.

There is no happy ending. Iraq is as far away from democracy as it was during Saddam Hussein’s rule.

Saddam was a ruthless butcher, but that hardly distinguished him as a Mideast ruler. Today, Iraq is being ripped apart by sectarian violence and is on the verge of a bloody civil war.

Such post-production details matter little to the neoconservatives who conceived the project.

Only a few weeks ago did production shut down in Iraq. In response, The Washington Post published this opinion piece by Jessica T. Mathews, president of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace:

The public may also never know exactly why or when the Bush administration made its tragically misguided decision to go to war. Former Treasury secretary Paul O’Neill has said that unseating Saddam Hussein dominated a meeting with President George W. Bush 10 days after Bush’s inauguration — eight months before the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Among the many reasons posted — avenging an Iraqi attack on Bush’s father, getting the United States’ hands on Mideast oil, extending democracy across the region — only the charge that Hussein was building weapons of mass destruction came close to selling the American people on war.

Bullets Over Broadway

As misguided as it was for America, Iraq II was embraced by Obama, the second director brought in on the project. Continued work ceased only after the Iraqi government, which owns the lot where the production was being made, declared that U.S. forces could face prosecution for their actions.

It seems almost impossible to believe that the U.S. government, which seamlessly transformed Japan and Germany into rich democratic nations following World War II, could fail so miserably in the Mideast, yet that is exactly what has happened.

Springtime For Hitler

Washington is intent on further Mideast productions. In a case of life imitating art, Target Tehran seems much like Mel Brooks’ production The Producers.

Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton seem as careless as Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom in turning their play into a flop — as long as their careers can be furthered by it.

On the PBS program Victory In The Pacific, the narrator says: “The emperor, who had worried about a rebellion from his subjects, helped ensure his position by posing as their savior.”

I expect the same of Obama in 2012. His re-election looms in less than 11 months, and nothing has proven to be a better prescription for winning than engaging in war. What better target than Iran? Unlike George W. Bush, Obama doesn’t have to lie about weapons of mass destruction. Many Americans are convinced Iran actually has them, and Washington is already in pre-production mode. Consider the recent public relations offensive:

  • In a speech at the 71st General Assembly of the Union for Reform Judaism on Dec. 16, Obama said: “Another grave concern — and a threat to the security of Israel, the United States and the world — is Iran’s nuclear program. And that’s why our policy has been absolutely clear: We are determined to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.”
  • In an interview with CBS Evening News With Scott Pelley that aired on Dec. 19, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta declared that Iran might be only a year away from acquiring a nuclear bomb. “If they proceed and we get intelligence that they are proceeding with developing a nuclear weapon, then we will take whatever steps necessary to stop it,” Panetta said.
  • On Dec. 20, CNN reported that Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said “I am satisfied that the options that we are developing (for attacking Iran) are evolving to a point that they would be executable if necessary.”
  • In a Dec. 21 interview with Israel’s Channel 10, Dennis Ross, Obama’s former Mideast adviser, said: “This is a president who has prided himself on doing what he says, so I think if he draws the conclusion that what is required is to take a certain kind of step, he’s prepared to take those steps. It means that when all options are on the table and if you’ve exhausted all other means, you do what is necessary.”
  • On Dec. 23, former Pentagon adviser Matthew Kroenig’s essay “Time to Attack Iran” was published in Foreign Affairs. Kroenig builds his case that an American assault on Iran should be undertaken sooner rather than later.

Further Irony

Over the holidays, Obama’s Hawaii vacation included a workout at the Kaneohe Marine Base. Later, he hiked with family and friends along the Lanikai Pillbox trail on the Windward side of Oahu, a short distance from Pearl Harbor. Not far away, Obama was likely planning his re-election campaign and the centerpiece of it: Target Tehran.

Mr. Myers writes, “It seems almost impossible to believe that the U.S. government, which seamlessly transformed Japan and Germany into rich democratic nations following World War II, could fail so miserably in the Mideast, yet that is exactly what has happened.”

Apples and oranges, John, apples and oranges. Japan and Germany were both advanced industrial nations with relatively homogenious populations. Germany was Christian and Japan was Shinto/Buddhist. Neither wished to destroy ALL Christians.

The Middle East is filled with adherants to a religion that seeks to destroy the western infidels. Afghanistan is a country run by Stone Age warlords and Iraq muddles on (but not for long) with two distinct religious and ethnic groups.

So your premise is wrong. It is VERY possible to understand the lack of success in nation building in the M.E. Neither Clinton nor Bush understood this, to their discredit, and history has shown the abject futility of trying to impose the template of democracy upon peoples who have neither appreciation for, nor moral values to support, such principles.

    • Dave

And to carry your analogy further, we understand next to nothing about this 7th Century religio-political-legal-cultural system which everybody seems to kow-tow to.
Not really an aside – have you heard ANY political candidate (other than the current POTUS) talk about Islam and how we’re to deal with this totally antithetical system in our country which is 180 from the Constitution, and even our current lifestyle??
More than the economy (the fruit on the tree) is the root; our founding documents which are being systematically dismantled to make way for whatever the U.N. foists on us.

  • mark

Against conservative wishes, Obama decided to pull ALL U.S. troops out of Iraq last month. He inherited that immoral, wrongheaded war from Bush/Cheney. There is no way that Obama will launch an attack on Iraq this year. It is too huge a risk with completely unpredictable consequences (unlike Libya which was a piece of cake in comparison. Zero U.S. dead, zero U.S. wounded for a country that only cares about U.S. dead. Also no impact on world oil supplies and prices). Obama is not that stupid. As a result this whole article is ludicrous.
On the more important point that is strangely yet understandably absent on the website today, Ron Paul came in a disappointing third in Iowa. This virtually ensures that he will not win the Republican nomination for Presideent. If Paul could not win in Iowa, his best environment ideologically and structurally (with the caucus set-up), he will not win anywhere. This was his best shot and his supporters failed to deliver.

Rules of Engagement! OK, sure why not give them a full mapped out plan of attack while you’re at it! Here is the only rule of engagement….F with us you die! DONE! I do agree on the tit for tat you state re: china/iran and Isreal/USA ….Russia and China will kill each other off before the ever get to us anyway…heehee good for the world if you ask me. The rest of the middle east should be wiped out and turned into a Vegas II! F the camel jockies!

    • Joe H.

      Fiscalsound…,
“Good for the world”???? Do you have any idea what the world would look like if China and Russia went nuke only on each other??? Just that little screw-up in Japan has seals with radiation poisoning washing up on Alaska, what do you think full scale nuke war between two nations with an overabundance of them do??? Give it a little THOUGHT before you post!!!

    • Karolyn

Sick man! It’s people like you who have this world in such a mess!

    • CoCowboy692000

Ok fiscal – You’re really not that bright are you?

Look, I have no problem with the war issue: If we fight, WE DO IT TO WIN – That means people die. Ok? I get it AND, I AGREE WITH IT.

HOWEVER, If you really think the Ruskies and the Chinese are going to kill each other off, you really haven’t been keeping up, have you…

You are another one of these blithering idiots who needs to close your mouth more often and open your eyes.

TRY DOING SOME RESEARCH – HECK, FOR THAT MATTER, YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE TO DO THAT – ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS READ THE DANG NEWS FOR THAT LIL PIECE OF TRUTH!

As for the “Camel Jockies”… Welp, if they’d just live and let live, there’d be no issues… we’ll see where this goes… but they’re not going to commit harrie-carrie without taking someone with them…

  • Patriot

WWIII will start with the first shot seemingly being fired by Iran, but; they will not be the ones that fired it! The story and the script is exactly the same, let’s not be fooled again!

    • Dave

Their “fifth column” is already set up here – “moderate Muslims” currently working in their victory mosques in a town near you.

Oh come on Jimmy… Stop already…

I remember when George W. Bush Jr. delared while standing besides the firefighters in New York that those people who brought down the twin towers would be hearing from us soon.

    • TML

Interestingly enough, I remember reading a very similar situation in which Hitler did the same thing.

What this country needs is a clearly written out doctrine as to our rules of engagement, and to let all others know exactly what they are and what they exactly means & keep them simple to understand. We do not have one as of today, why? So China says if anyone invades or strikes Iran it will be a threat against them, okay if anyone strikes or invades Israel then it will be a threat against us.

  • http://www.ghughbodell.com G. Hugh Bodell

I always think fiction that walks a fine line with fact is always more interesting than pure fantasy.

“Wag the Dog” ( 1997 – Before elections, a spin-doctor and a Hollywood producer join efforts to “fabricate” a war in order to cover-up a presidential sex scandal) was a great satirical portrayal of what was reality at that time.

The reality of the push and shove with Iran steers more closely to Iran making the big push, vies-a-vi http://www.thebooknikita.com where Iran stockpiles and brokers to Americas enemies a lot of nukes.

  • http://donthaveone Beberoni

There was no war for oil as you claim. I mean, hey, where’s the oil??? Come on man. Thats rediculous. That was just a left wing liberal cry to associate their opponents with big oil, a think that they tell is all is evil, even though each and every one of us uses oil and oil products every day of our lives. Well, almost all of us.
And truthfully, I wish we would have taken enough of their oil to pay for this whole thing, and rightfully so. They are liberated and free. For now. But the muslim nation is seeking its best to keep that from happening, as they dont want freedom, they want power for the few in charge, and hopefully for them its their faction in charge, and they just put the the sword anyone who disagrees with them. Saddam needed to go, and he went. Millions are better off because of it. But I truthfully think the steps the Obama admin took in the end, pretty much was designed to make the whole damn thing collapse, so they could continue to point the fingers and say look what Georgie did. They got off track, and let it go to hell in a handbasket. I know. I talked to many who were over there, and some who still are. Its appalling the things that changed when this admin came in, that allowed the enemy strongholds and basically gave them to them, undoing all our hard work, because we all know, its in the best interests of the democratic party if the whole thing collapses. Had they stayed on track and it became a huge freedom success story in the middle east, it would have be catastophic to the democrats. They couldnt have that now could they? Think about it, and look at the changes that happened over then once they came into power. Its sad that our political parties have made it all about themselves, instead of about the United States of America. What a shame.

      AMEN!!!!!

    • DaveH

It isn’t a Party thing, Beberoni. It’s the Leaders and their Crony Capitalists against the rest of us. Do some studying and learn the reality. We have all been heavily Propagandized. It’s time we throw off the blinders.
Read this book to get started (just the tip of the iceberg) on your road to revelation:

      • jimmy the greek

Capitalism and Communism are two sides of the same coin !

      • DaveH

No, Jimmy, we haven’t had Real Capitalism in this country for a very long time. Even in the beginnings of the US, the Government was favoring banks, and with Abraham Lincoln the Federal Government got their hands deeply into favoring their selected Crony Capitalists. And they’ve had their hands deeply into our Marketplaces ever since. Real Capitalism requires Government to butt their Political nosey noses out of the Marktetplace. With Real Capitalism, the consumers are king, and companies live or die at the will of the consumers rather than at the will of self-serving Politicians.
        Ron Paul 2012!

      • Mark in LA

Jimmy you know how delusional DaveH gets about “real capitalism” he thinks it actually can exist. He doesn’t realize all capitalism since the beginning of time comes under his definition of “crony capitalism”. The closest thing to real capitalism we have in the modern world is the illicit drug trade or the mafia. People making money any way they can without government interference.

      • DaveH

Talk about delusional, Mark. Those last two sentences say it all about you.

      • DaveH

And to say pure capitalism has never existed (just as perfection has never existed), Mark, is an easy call because Government will always at least try to mess in the Marketplace. Poo-pooing people who are striving for betterment serves no purpose at all. But then, you are a Liberal, so I understand, Mark.
At any rate in the beginning of the 19th century Government spent only 7% of our GDP. I would happily trade our 40% of GDP Government for that.

      • DaveH

By the way, there are some of you (most likely the Liberals) who probably didn’t get the irony of Mark’s ignorant comment “The closest thing to real capitalism we have in the modern world is the illicit drug trade or the mafia. People making money any way they can without government interference”.
In fact the illegal drug trade is just the opposite of Real Capitalism. It demonstrates the reality of a very heavily regulated marketplace, in this case a prohibited marketplace. The results? — Black markets, Crime, extremely high prices, and costly law enforcement.

      • Mark in LA

No DaveH once again it is you who can’t think your way out of a paper bag with this:

In fact the illegal drug trade is just the opposite of Real Capitalism.

No dave the illicit drug trade is illegal for everybody. The government gives no favors to one group over another. You are mistaking the fact that it is an illegal trade for “government regulation”. The two are not even close.

      • Joe H.

        Mark in LA,
” The government gives no special favor to one group over another” YEAH??? Tell that to the frikken CIA!!! Ever heard of Air America???

      • JC

Or the CIA themselves smuggling South American drugs?
Or the poppy fields in Afghanistan that are once again fourishing under UN control? (The Taliban had nearly eradicated them)

    • DaveH

      Rick Santorum? Please.
The establishment Republican minions are doing everything in their power to keep those blinders from being ripped off their face. Ignorance is Bliss:
      http://www.ronpaul2012.com/2012/01/04/ron-paul-campaign-celebrates-great-victory-at-iowa-caucus/

      • CoCowboy692000

Yup – Let’s not forget that Rick stated flat out and without apology that he voted for the Patriot Act and felt that it wasn’t strong enough yet! The last time they voted on the Patriot Act, there were 3 sections that the congress wasn’t even allowed to read!!! They voted BLIND! Yet, Rick wants it STRONGER… And this in the face of NDAA as well – what the he||???

I can’t in good conscience vote for him. Santorum is another moderate republiturd that I can’t reconcile my voting conscience with… I hope everyone starts looking at him more seriously and realizes what he’s really about.

    • Mark in LA

Yeah keep on drinking the kool-aid:

      They are liberated and free

I am sure all the dead Iraqis and the people who see the bombings every day agree.

  • CoCowboy692000

Point 1: NOT unless we are attacked (Straight of Hormuz). The John C. Stennis Aircraft Carrier Group is an incredibly capable group! This nuclear AC Carrier has F/A 18 Hornets… among other things. This carrier has seen much war, so they are very battle ready and trained. It would be an amazingly STUPID move on the part of IRAN to attack this carrier group or this ship! The response would be unrelenting! In addition, we have 95,000 troops not to far from Tehran. Just how stupid are they? I shudder to think… Additionally, we have the 7th fleet as ready carrier fleets near Australia (remember?), we have 5th Fleet in the Mediterranian… all with additional Aircraft Carriers and battleships. I cannot believe that IRAN would be dumb enough to attack us. I haven’t checked where the French or British Aircraft Carriers are yet… Planning to do that today… This would be a slaughter of the Nth degree… if we really want it to be!

Point 2: NOT unless Congress DECLARES constitutional war and ONLY in support of Israel or actually keeping INTERNATIONAL waterways open in compliance with international law.

Point 3: NOT unless we have unwaivering support of ALL Europe. We take ZERO oil from Iran. Therefore, we have no skin in this game, really. THEY, EU, MUST STAND SHOULDER TO SHOULDER WITH THE USA – PERIOD. Nobody is going to go running to the press screaming; “Oh the USA went off on another one of their tyrannical tangents again!” NO WAY! THEY WILL STAND SHOULDER TO SHOULDER WITH US – PERIOD… Because it’s a friggin sure bet that China and Russia will absolutely stand with Iran!

Point 4: Take opportunity to directly negotiate through the EU as offered by Iran this weekend, FIRST. Negotiate for IAEA inspection of ALL Nuclear facilities and verify their status per their signed nuclear non-proliferation treaty, etc. THEY MUST COME CLEAN!

Point 5: As part of the DIRECT NEGOTIATIONS, make sure that they know, we are ready to “PULL THE TRIGGER” the moment we walk out of the door from the negotiations if their response is unsatisfactory and they’re not willing to stand down. There will be no DPRK II !!!

    That’s where I would start…

    • Dave

      You forget the Islamic “CIC”!!

      • CoCowboy692000

And I care about them becauseeee? What? You want me to get them a boat so they can go back? We’re talking IRAN here. I thought the CIC came for a NEW LIFE… Not to relive their OLD life…

We don’t care about that old crap. If they came here, they need to leave that crap behind, or leave… PERIOD… Move on… get on with your new life and make the most of it… You’ve been given an opportunity, not a new battle ground.

    • jimmy the greek

You seem to be forgetting something ! Do you really think china and russia is just going to sit back and let all that bu!!$hit go down ? Put down the crack pipe its making you crazy .

APPARENTLY, you don’t know how to read… I already stated that… Put down YOUR crack pipe or get a pair of reading glasses…

      CoCowboy,
you also forget the Tonkin Gulf incident!!! History repeating itself???

      • CoCowboy692000

Yeah, I hardly think so… Try looking at our new weaponry then see if you still feel like asking that question… Not happening.

        TO TONY:

THE FACT IS, AMERICA MUST INSIST UPON A NEW ADMINISTRATION THAT WILL RE-EVALUATE EVERY RELATIONSHIP THAT WE HAVE AND THAT INCLUDES THE LIKES OF EUROPE. WE HAVE ENTIRELY TO MANY FRIEND-ENEMIES. PERSONALLY, I HAVE NEVER SUBSCRIBED TO THE THEORY THAT THE ENEMY OF MY ENEMY IS MY FRIEND. BUT WE HAVE ENTIRELY TO MANY BACKSTABBING, CHICKEN-SH|T COMMIE “FRIENDS” IN EUROPE WHO DO *NOT* DESERVE OUR FRIENDSHIP! THE SAME CAN BE SAID OF THE MIDDLE EAST AND A GOOD PART OF ASIA. THEY ONLY WANT WHAT WE HAVE! IT’S TIME TO ROLL ALL OF THAT BACK ALONG WITH ANY TREATIES UNTIL THEY KNOW WHAT A FRIEND IS… NOW THEN, WITH ALL THAT SAID, LET ME GIVE YOU ONE EXAMPLE:

How they vote in the United Nations:
Below are the actual voting records of various Arabic/Islamic
States which are recorded in both the US State Department
        and United Nations records:

Kuwait votes against the United States 67% of the time
Qatar votes against the United States 67% of the time
Morocco votes against the United States 70% of the time
United Arab Emirates votes against the U. S. 70% of the time.
Jordan votes against the United States 71% of the time.
Tunisia votes against the United States 71% of the time.
Saudi Arabia votes against the United States 73% of the time.
Yemen votes against the United States 74% of the time.
Algeria votes against the United States 74% of the time.
Oman votes against the United States 74% of the time.
Sudan votes against the United States 75% of the time.
Pakistan votes against the United States 75% of the time.
Libya votes against the United States 76% of the time.
Egypt votes against the United States 79% of the time.
Lebanon votes against the United States 80% of the time.
India votes against the United States 81% of the time.
Syria votes against the United States 84% of the time.
Mauritania votes against the United States 87% of the time.

U S Foreign Aid to those that hate us:
Egypt, for example, after voting 79% of the time against the United States, still receives $2 billion annually in US Foreign Aid.

Jordan votes 71% against the United States
And receives $192,814,000 annually in US Foreign Aid.

Pakistan votes 75% against the United States
Receives $6,721,000,000 annually in US Foreign Aid.

India votes 81% against the United States
        Receives $143,699,000 annually.

        GET IT???

      • Joe H.

        CoCowboy,
do you honestly think the vietnamese attacked our ship??? If you do, you are very naieve!!! the same thing could happen in the strait of Harmuz. We “attack” our own ship to make it look like we were attacked and then hellow Iran, we’re here to collect!!

      • CoCowboy692000

That doesn’t even deserve a reply.

      • Jay

I think it does deserve a reply; JoeH is 100% correct!

      • CoCowboy692000

I don’t care what you think Jay… some of you guys here are absolutely certifiable… No facts, no links, no nuttin… just BS… I read through this column sometimes and seriously, I’m just waffin my friggin ass off. I’m not sure whether to laugh at the left, or you guys on the right… and really, there’s not a difference.

Oh, so sad Cowboy. Does this mean you’ll be taking your ball, and going home? Boo hoo..falling teardrops..

    • Mark in LA

Maybe you forgot – it’s not the Iranians who want war but the US who wants a reason to start the war.

    • Walt

Hmm! The Persians invented the game of Chess. Let’s see here:

1.China and Russia have warned us not to attack Iran and would consider it an attack on them.
2.Russia is helping Iran build their nuclear facility.
3.U.S. aircraft carrier groups are being concentrated to surround and support a possible attack on Iran.

I wonder. Are the pieces on the chess board being purposely positioned by Iran, so as to move our carrier groups to areas where they will be ineffective to defend the U.S. homeland?

      Whose minding the back door?

      • CoCowboy692000

        2ND, 3RD, AND 4TH FLEETS… NO WORRIES…

      • CoCowboy692000

If you’re wondering what the global breakdown looks like:

        • United States: 11 carriers (Nimitz Class Carriers – dual nuclear reactors with 4 screws. Top speed not disclosed but is greater than 34 knots) Each carries between 85-90 aircraft.

        • Russia: 1 carrier

        • France: 1 carrier

        • Italy: 2 carriers

        • India: 1 carrier

        • Brazil: 1 carrier

        • Netherlands: 1 carrier

” Hmm! The Persians invented the game of Chess. Let’s see here: ”

A game of chess is exactly why Obama did not fill his campaign promise to pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan immediately.

I am sure the intelligence community sat him down and explained why we needed a base in Iraq.

      • CoCowboy692000

As for the chess game, lemme think… when was the last time a Persian won the tourney?

LMAO!!! Well, I’ll give you the game of Chess Big Bad John… But, he didn’t fulfill his campaign promise because the military sat him down and TOLD him the facts of life and that he would NOT be allowed to RISK soldier’s lives… A Jr. Senator with ZERO experience of ANYTHING other than procreating a couple of kids is no COMMANDER.

As for the base in Iraq, Obama didn’t even contact the POTUS of Iraq since February… I’m not sure I get that one… especially since we built a multi-billion dollar embassy there… We’ll see. I know we’ve got at least 1000 Blackwater guys there and there are some other merc’s there too. So, it’s not like we have no presence.

      • Joe H.

And you KNOW he hasn’t contacted him HOW??? Are you sitting on obams lap every day??? You aren’t privey to anymore information than anybody else here! AS FAR AS YOU KNOW he hasn’t contacted him, as he hasn’t announced it!

      • CoCowboy692000

Because I read it in a couple of articles (LIGNET and one other publication) and then I saw the story on the news. GEEZE…

      • joe H.

Yeah cowboy, and we ALL know how open and above board Abummer is!!!! I’m sure every time he talks to some middle east despot he calls the press and advises them of his conversation!!! You ARE naieve!!!

Iran, which has the world’s third largest known reserves of oil behind Saudi Arabia and Iraq, has been on the drawing board of the Pentagon since 2005. Curious, how all the countries the US has invaded so far, and now controls through the assistance of terrorists organizations, are countries with an abundance of oil. Oil, which the west so desperately needs. But, more necessary than oil, world domination, stimulates these oligarchical, mad-men!

    • CoCowboy692000

IRAN has been on the Pentagon drawing board since 1979… quit kidding yourself…

    • em

some of this doesn’t make sense ,, the u s imports oil so that they can refine it and sell petroleum products as their biggest export and undersell other countries so that it is not profitable for them to build their own refineries and at the same time bilk the u s population ,,, oh’ , wait a minute , somehow that does add up , perhaps there is an organization that wants to take control of the entire world and they need the money (real or fiat) to pay their disposable minions to assist them in their diabolical enterprise …

    • Vigilant

“Curious, how all the countries the US has invaded so far, and now controls through the assistance of terrorists organizations, are countries with an abundance of oil.”

Horsesh*t! Iraqui oil production is STILL below pre-Iran/Iraq war levels. If the war were for oil, don’t you just possibly think our mission #1 would have been to improve oil production?

“…(US)…controls through the assistance of terrorists [sic] organizations…”

      You’re positively raving mad.

      • Jay

        Or positively correct!

      • Joe H.

NOT A CHANCE!!! We haven’t recieved a barrel of oil from Iraq!!

      • Jay

If you mean, WE, THE PEOPLE, never got a barrel of oil, i agree. The question is; who profited?

      • joe H.

I mean the bpeople in the US never USED a drop of it!! IS THAT CLEAR ENOUGH???

      • Jay

Here Joe, this should put the issue into perspective for you. It will explain the real reason why the west is so obsessed with the middle east. Contrary to media propaganda, its not for humanitarian reasons, or nation building, nor terrorism. But the bubbling brew!

“The first production, Iraq II, was directed by two Presidents at a cost of $1 trillion.

There were also indirect costs of Iraq II, including a five-fold increase in the price of oil and a declining opinion of the United States. Two generations ago, America was seen as the great liberator. Today, many people consider it the great instigator.”

THIS MESS WAS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF BUSH AND THE REPUBLICANS! BUSH TOOK THE WORLDS SYMPATHY AND TURNED IT INTO LOATHING.

“As misguided as it was for America, Iraq II was embraced by Obama, the second director brought in on the project.”

WOULD YOU HAVE HAD HIM CUT AND RUN???? I WOULD GO AS FAR AS SAYING THE REASON WE ARE FINALLY GETTING OUT IS BECAUSE BUSH’S OIL EXPLOITS DID NOT PAY OFF!

THIS WHOLE IRAQ ADVENTURE WAS SO F’ED UP THAT FROM THE BEGINNING IT WAS OBVIOUS TO ANYONE WITH HALF A BRAIN THAT BUSH WOULD BE TURNING CONTROL OF IRAQ OVER TO IRAN – AND THAT IS WHERE WE ARE NOW!

    • fiscalsoundbiteme

Just so you know, Bush’s cabinet was made up of Dummycrats…he also did not use anyone to blame any mistakes or missteps he made, he took the steps he was required to take with CONGRESS’ full backing and support…I believe it was a setup to make him look bad. So with that said, and out in the open, Ovomit was a Senator voting “present” whilst in the background setting up his soon to be illegal presidency. What the donkey’s did to this country is nothing short of treason. Keep that in mind ya kook

      • Dave

The same holds true during his administration – locking Republicans out and now crying that they don’t want to help him!!

      • BigBadJohn

Bush’s cabinet made up of dummycrats?
So you think Rice, Powell, Gates, Rumsfeld and Ashcroft were democrats? LOL too funny….

“he took the steps he was required to take with CONGRESS’ full backing and support”

The president is supposed to be privy to the highest intelligence gathering that the USA has. Yet Bush kept repeating “Saddam has weapons of mass destruction and we KNOW WHERE THEY ARE” Bush never said that but Rice, Powell, Gates, Rumsfeld and Ashcroft all did. Combine that with “You either with us or against us” and “the United States will hunt down and punish those responsible for these cowardly acts” democrats truly did not have any choice but to go along with Bush.

    • DaveH

I would expect him to keep his campaign promise, John:
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bneEocEBGqI

March of 2008. I think that was missed (badly).

      • BigBadJohn

I agree, Obama made a lot of promises that he did not keep.

When Reagan was president he was able to push his policies through a dem controlled congress by getting on TV “My fellow Americans….”

Obama showed no such leadership. In 2008 Obama was handed a clear mandate – and he fiddled it away try to compromise with republicans…….

      • JeffH

BBJ, compromise with Republicans? I really thought more of you. C’mon, Obama doesn’t compromise on anything unless there’s a HUGE return…but then again, that’s why every politician compromises.

Compromise is nothing more than smoke & mirrors.

      • Joe H.

        BigBJ,
Yeah, he compromised with them, alright!! By locking them OUT of all discussion! Or perhaps you forgot that????

      • BigBadJohn

Sorry not the way I see it.
At every turn if Obama was for it, republicans were against it.
There were times when he accepted their compromise only to have them change there mind and say no.
They even said the only compromise they would accept was Obama’s resignation.

Since Obama took office republicans at every turn tried to block anything he did just to make him look bad.
        Politics at it worst!

It will be the same as when Clinton was in office. They will sit back and let them mobilize and set up whatever it is they want to set up, create a dangerous situation, then when the democrats get voted out of office they will leave it for the next guy to clean up, then whey they have to take action, they will stand on the mountaintop and call them a warmonger. You watch and see. We can do the stork thing, and stand there and stick our head in the sand and act like everything is fine and that they arent a threat to us, then watch things get blown up on our soil, and wonder why. I dont like war either, I abhor it. But I also know if you sit around and let those who hate you go unchecked, they will, if not already, arm themselves and become a threat to you, then your at war anyhow. Either way, now or later, we will have to fight to protect what we have, and that is just a sad fact of life. They arent going away that is for sure. And they would like most of all to anihilate us off the face of the earth. Again, that is a fact everyone knows. To sit around and say they are not a threat to us, is just plain irresponsible and wrong. But only time will tell if I am off my rocker, or if Im right. Question is, do we stick our head in the sand and quiver, or do we tell them to knock it off now or else. You cannot appease them, that is a sure fire road to defeat. So then, what do we do? That is the question. Again, they arent going away.

    • fiscalsoundbiteme

      ALL AMERICAN TERROR FIGHTER
CLINTON developed the nation’s first anti-terrorism policy, and appointed first national coordinator of anti-terrorist efforts.
Bill Clinton stopped cold the Al Qaeda millennium hijacking and bombing plots.
Bill Clinton stopped cold a planned attack to kill the Pope.
Bill Clinton stopped cold a planned attack to blow up 12 U.S. jetliners simultaneously.
Bill Clinton stopped cold a planned attack to blow up UN Headquarters.
Bill Clinton stopped cold a planned attack to blow up FBI Headquarters.
Bill Clinton stopped cold a planned attack to blow up the Israeli Embassy in Washington.

Bill Clinton stopped cold a planned attack to blow up Lincoln and Holland Tunnels in NY.
Bill Clinton stopped cold a planned attack to blow up the George Washington Bridge.
Bill Clinton tried to kill Osama bin Laden and disrupt Al Qaeda through preemptive strikes (efforts denounced by the G.O.P.).
Bill Clinton brought perpetrators of first World Trade Center bombing and CIA killings to justice.
Bill Clinton did not blame the Bush I administration for first WTC bombing even though it occurred 38 days after Bush left office. Instead, worked hard, even obsessively – and successfully – to stop future terrorist attacks.
Bill Clinton named the Hart-Rudman commission to report on nature of terrorist threats and major steps to be taken to combat terrorism.
Bill Clinton sent legislation to Congress to tighten airport security. (Remember, this is before 911)—-The legislation was DEFEATED by the Republicans because of opposition from the airlines.—-
Bill Clinton sent legislation to Congress to allow for better tracking of terrorist funding. It was DEFEATED by Republicans in the Senate because of opposition from banking interests.
Bill Clinton sent legislation to Congress to add tagents to explosives, to allow for better tracking of explosives used by terrorists. It was DEFEATED by the Republicans because of opposition from the NRA.
Bill Clinton increased the military budget by an average of 14 per cent, reversing the trend under Bush I.
Bill Clinton tripled the budget of the FBI for counterterrorism and doubled overall funding for counterterrorism.
Bill Clinton detected and destroyed cells of Al Qaeda in over 20 countries.
Bill Clinton created national stockpile of drugs and vaccines including 40 million doses of smallpox vaccine.
Of Clinton’s efforts says Robert Oakley, Reagan Ambassador for Counterterrorism: “Overall, I give them very high marks” and “The only major criticism I have is the obsession with Osama”.
Paul Bremer, former Civilian Administrator of Iraq disagrees slightly with Robert Oakley as he believed the Bill Clinton Administration had “correctly focused on bin Laden.”
Barton Gellman in the Washington Post put it best, “By any measure available, Bill Clinton left office having given greater priority to terrorism than any president before him” and was the “first administration to undertake a systematic anti-terrorist effort”.
      THEN CAME 9-11

John says “When that film was released in 1945 — narrated by Ronald Reagan who, ironically, would become president — there was no doubt that America was fighting a global struggle for freedom”.
Sure there was doubt, John. Before FDR wrangled his way into the war about 80% of the population didn’t want to get involved. But FDR and his Crony Capitalists were making big money selling weapons to the Allies. After cutting oil and other supplies to Japan, FDR could see growing animosity coming from the Japanese, and he knew that things were coming to a boiling point because the Japanese code had been broken a year before Pearl Harbor. Japan, by the way, was staunchly anti-communist. But FDR was fond of Communism. To FDR, Stalin was Uncle Joe.
So, at a cost of 2400 lives in Pearl Harbor, FDR finally got his way. We then proceeded to get involved and eventually win the war only to turn over a large portion of the Hitler-conquered countries to the tyranny of Russian Communism. Some Heros. Hardly “Freedom” givers.

        Here’s an interesting read:
        http://www.sobran.com/friends.shtml

      • Walt

For the most part, prior to WWII, if you were a communist, you were most likely Jewish. The Lincoln Brigade, sent to Spain to support the new socialist/communist government was put together and financed by Jewish banking interests from New York.

In America, during the 1930s, it was strong Jewish activism that supported the communist movement, and has today translated into the fact that there are close to 80 openly declared members of Congress that claim membership in the DSA (Democratic Socialists of America – the American affiliate of the Socialist Internationale), and many are Jewish, along with dozens of African American and Hispanic members of Congress. “Rules for Radical”, written by Saul Alinsky (mentor for Obama and Hillary Clinton) was Jewish.

Of the close to 400 core revolutionaries communists that sparked the Russian Revolution to overthrow the Czar, 390+ were Jewish. Lenin, Trotsky, Marx were all Jewish.

In Germany, most of the key political leaders of the Weimar Republic were Jewish. These are the folks that brought Germany to its knees with “quantitative easing” and the disasterous hyper-inflation, which brought about the rise of the NAZI party and the subsequent roundup of Jews and other political activists during the late 1930s.

The infamous Woodrow Wilson surrounded himself with Jewish advisors like as did FDR with Morganthau and others. The plan for the Federal Reserve was drawn up by New York Jewish banking interests and the Rothschild banking syndicate and was handed to Wilson for rubber stamped approval.

As Liberal and Progressive tradition follows, Obama is also today surrounded by Jewish handlers like Rahm Emanuel, Geithner, Axelrod (all Jewish) and has been financed by George Soros (Jewish). He benefits from support in Congress from the likes of Charles Schumer, Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein and a host of other Jewish members in the Senate and House.

Do we see a pattern here?

      • jimmy the greek

Oh yes , And only hope to live it see the day when the lot is rounded up in this country and sent to summer camp .

      • Walt

Jimmy, while I may point out that a certain group of citizens may be working against the interests of our nation, I don’t advocate anybody being rounded up and “sent to summer camp”.

That is the methodology of folks like Hitler, Mao and Stalin. My purpose in presenting these points of historical fact is to educate and make folks aware of those that seek to “fundamentally change” our country to their foreign and alien ideology.

In 2010, we made great strides to remove some of these folks from positions of legislative power and hopefully in 2012, we will make greater inroads to remove many more and replace them with folks who understand the great threat our Republic is under.

Rounding folks up is NOT the solution. Removing them from their current positions, where they excersize destructive power is the goal.

Otherwise we are no better than what we accuse them of being.

      • http://Personalliberty Tony

        To Jimmy the Geek again:
Sir, what mental institution did you escape from!?! Honestly man, the things you talk about are way out there. I have a question, do you want to live in a society such as Nazi Germany, where you had no freedom? Something else, Adolf Hitler, along with many of his cronies
were part jewish to full jewish. Heck, his right hand man, Rudolf Hess, might of been part black. Google the true ethnic identies of the
Nazi leaders. Afterwards, get some help for yourself. God knows, you need it. Good Bye for now!!

    • Walt

Regarding the Japanese before the outbreak of WWII and the attack on Pearl Harbor….has anybody researched that all (without exception) of the countries in Asia were under colonial rule by either the U.S. or European powers.

Just think about it. India, Burma, French Indo-China, Phillipines, China, Thailand, Indonesia, etc. Not one single Asian country was free from colonial rule. Only the Japanese were free….and unacceptable to the western powers.

Yes, Japan invaded China in the early thirties; but, they viewed it as a war of liberating Asia from European and U.S. imperialism. This was a time when Europeans held hundreds of millions of people under subjugation in Asia and Africa and the Middle East. The U.S., with it’s Monroe Doctrine, reserved the Western Hemisphere as its private fiefdom, supporting dictators like Trujillo in the Dominican Republic, Batista in Cuba, Somoza in Nicaragua and wielded power through the like of the Dulles brothers and the United Fruit Company (Standard Fruit today) in many other so called “banana republics”.

It was a different time than today, America was not considered a beacon of freedom or the “the shining city on the hill”; but, rather a brutal oppressor, along with England, Spain, France, Italy and the Dutch.

Japan saw itself slowly being strangled economically. Embargoes on oil, steel and other commodities were imposed to bring this last holdout to its knees.

These are the sad facts, NOT my opinion or biased revisionist view of history. Check these statements out for yourself…don’t take my word for anything I have stated.

Given the same circumstances as Japan, what would America have done?

      • DaveH

        Good one, Walt.

      • eddie47d

Although a great analogy Walt I’ll have to agree with Mark on Japan’s invasion into China. They were also expansionists and brutal to the core.

      • Mark in LA

        Well this is not true:

Yes, Japan invaded China in the early thirties; but, they viewed it as a war of liberating Asia from European and U.S. imperialism.

The Japanese looked upon the Chinese as inferior and the Japanese were murdering them not liberating them. The liberating thing was probably the normal propaganda used to convince the home crowd of the actions of the government.

      • jimmy the greek

They were inferior ! as the pols were inferior because of the high levels of khazar blood in them .

      • Joe H.

Well, jimmy, now I’m gonna tell all my trucking friends to avoid a skinhead acting illegal acting trucker that is biased against all races but his own!!! you are one sick puppy dog!!!

      • DaveH

And we should take the word of a Liberal, Why?
Japan was expanding its empire by occupying Manchuria. No doubt their excuses for doing so were much like those we hear from our Leaders.
        http://mises.org/daily/5235
        From the article:
“When the Bolsheviks seized power in Russia, Wilson applied his self-concocted criterion, and refused recognition. Henry L. Stimson, Hoover’s secretary of state, applied the same doctrine when the Japanese occupied Manchuria, in northern China, and established a subservient regime in what they called Manchukuo. It was a method of signaling disapproval of Japanese expansionism, though there was no doubt that the Japanese soon came into effective control of the area, which had been more or less under the sway of competing warlords before”.

      • DaveH

For those who want to get deeply into it:
        http://mises.org/books/whileyouslept.pdf

      • DaveH

The above book is a true revelation into the webs we weave when we take a side in other countries’ conflicts. Everybody should read it.

      • Walt

Thanks Dave, the PDF book “While You Slept” is a great read. An eye opener to the “behind the scenes” dynamics of the world players at that time.

It seems that the Japanese were also playing “interference” against Stalin’s ambitions for that region; along with securing much needed raw materials for their own intentions for Asia.

      • Buster the Anatolian

Other than the desire to rule as much of the world as they could with an iron boot on the neck of the conquored Japan’s taking over other countries was for a supply of raw materials.

      • Walt

Perhaps you are referring to the slaughter at Nan King, where the entire city was killed.

As a student of history, I don’t approve of what the Japanese did in Nan King; however, one must understand that Japan was very much still under a fuedal mentality, with war lords and codes of honor. Very much the mentality that Europe had in the Middle Ages.

Also recall that at the Alamo, General Santa Ana also gave the defenders of the Alamo the option to surrender or face “no quarter”.

The Japanese offered the defenders of Nan King the same option…they declined and paid the price with their lives. That’s the Middle Age mentality that the Japanes were under at that time.

Brutal? Yes, but no different than other similar brutal repressions by colonial western powers in India or Africa; or by the U.S. in the Phillipines against Phillipine freedom fighters, who fought along American troops to “liberate the Phillipines” from Spain, and then were betrayed, slaughtered and denied Phillipine freedom, only to become another American imperial colony in the Pacific.

Them’s the facts my friend…everybody has their own perspective on history, some get it by objective research, while others get it from reading “yellow journalism”.

      • eddie47d

        Thanks for your clarification Walt.

      • Karolyn

Can’t leave out the brutality of the colonists against the Native Americans.

      • libertytrain

It is a pity karolyn that you can’t go back in history and correct all the wrongs with all your knowledge or you could just live in today and work on those problems that still exist today. How about human trafficking/slavery – that’s a biggy that goes on all over this world right now. Have a go at it.

      • Karolyn

Actually. liberty, the organization I work for is expanding into human trafficking.

      • DaveH

        Karolyn,
That cut both ways. The Native Americans were warring with each other long before white man came along. The worst atrocities they suffered were at the hands of Government assassins. Leaders have a problem with morality. That’s no secret.

      • libertytrain

Karolyn that’s good. Something that actually could be worked on today rather than pointing fingers at the human beings of yesterday who lived in a different reality of right and wrong than we do today and probably different today than what will be considered right or wrong 10 years from now. Look how many times we have seen what is considered the “right and ethical” way to do things in just our lifetime has changed. Scary.

  • Tom

    John,
My question to OB… If you had to choose one of the following which would you choose and why?

Put our young men and women in harms way in Iran to insure our oil supply?

Increase the U.S. oil/gas drilling to be self sufencent so we are not dependent on Middle East oil?

    • Joe H.

      Tom,
Guess what was reported as the largest export from the US just the other day? you Guessed it OIL!!! We can produce all we have, but if WE don’t get to use it, then how independant are we???

      • jimmy the greek

You are not right on that its refined product not crude oil we import crude and export gas , diesel , jet fuel , ect . I know this because i am in the trucking business and haul additives that go in as the tanker ships load along the gulf and on the Mississippi river we send finished product to the middle east , Europe , Africa, ect. We import over half the crude about 30% of the crude is from America .

      • Joe H.

        jimmy the greek,
It was reported on the news just last niht! Fuel and crude is the number one EXPORT from the US! I didn’t say IMPORT! As far as additive packages, A company here in Wickliffe Ohio has the patents on about 90% of those packages and they have branches in about 14 different countties world wide!! Their largest competitor is Exxon! You may transport those products, but you don’t seem to know a wit about the companies you carry for!

      • jimmy the greek

The additives i carry are made in panama, china , Europe , and conroe tx the stuff from china is to raise the octane level on gas bad stuff at 94% it well kill you if to much gets on you. the ctain is from texas no one i deal with has any thing to do with ohio , i have bin doing this for about 20 years and have seen none of the things i deal with coming out of ohio most of the chemicals come into the port of houston and go into warehouses that i get them from and transport them to were the ships load some of what i haul can not be made in the USA because of the EPA .

      • jimmy the greek

Ok yes we do export some crude from Alaska .

      • Vigilant

Jimmy the GEEK says, “the stuff from china is to raise the octane level on gas bad stuff at 94% it well kill you if to much gets on you.”

Obviously, you exposed yourself to just enough of that stuff to kill your brain.

      • Joe H.

        jimmy the greek,
i suggest you look up a company in Wickliffe Ohio named Lubrizol corp.! They own the patients on pretty close to 90% of the additive packages produced in the US. they are in China, France, England, Japan and other countries as well. Look them up!!!Look under Specialty chemical companies if you have problems!!! The company started about 60 years ago in some guy’s garage and is now a world wide company. buffetts holdings just bought them out a few months ago!! It’s in the papers all over!!!

    • wes

You hit the nail on the head Tom, but few will listen, especially on the left. They are too busy tree hugging and making up mythical oil spill scenarios to worry about real reality. The crude under that Bakken deposit and the off shore rigs would keep us in oil for a few hundered years, by which time I’m sure we can finalize the research and production of alternative fuels. That simple logic obviously escapes these left handed wackos and they will continue their efforts to shut off the Keystone pipeline, with naturally no alternatives to replace it because they don’t think that far ahead. The safety record for the Alaska pipeline has been almost perfect for over 50 years, but for some reason they tell us that won’t be the case with this new line. As far as Iran, I truly believe the Israelis will hit them hard soon, and without tipping their hat to this occupier of our white house whom they do not trust, with good reason. Israel as the aggressor and the US as their back-up is the best possible solution to that nutjob and his obvious intentions.

      • DaveH

They’ve been thinking ahead for decades, Wes. It has nothing to do with baby seals, polar bears, melting ice caps, oil spills, or energy independence. It has EVERYTHING to do with Progressive POWER. Environmentalism is just a means to their ends. Their goal is nothing less than the taking of our Freedom.

      • Joe H.

        jimmy,
A lot of what you are spewing is BS pure and true!! If the additives you are carrying couldn’t be made here there is a very good chance that the components of those packages aren’t on a list of aproved components to be transported legally in the US. You ARE carrying LEGAL aren’t you , jimmy??

He’s shown it by his deference to Islam in every way possible dating back to his childhood, his repugnance with the Jews and Christians, and his alacrity with Islam, their “holy days”, with Allah and his messenger Muhammad, etc. He has specialized in “apology tours’, laid out the red carpet to Islamic leaders around the globe and bashed such as Netanyahu, Churchill, and most of all Jesus Christ!!

Israel should be at the point of this issue with Iran. Why are we to decide if Iran gets nuclear weapons or not? Israel has the means to defend herself against Iran. What if China all of a sudden said, ‘The US must be eliminated!’? Since they already have nuclear weapons, would this mean we should attack them? So I bolster Myers argument that the administration does wish to use this issue as a campaign ploy for Nov. 2012.

Hey That’s what Ron Paul has been saying. He’s the only sane voice in this miserable lot of candidates. Let’s get behind him 100% and get rid of the OBummer/Blammer in the White House, and preserve our Republic.

      • NC

Amy, we are not going to get a libertarian in the White House in 2012!None of the smart money backss that possibility. Libertarians have been waiting for that longer than the Cubs have been waiting for a pennant!SO, which do you want? A candidate that must promise the conservative base the same kind of things that bush promised to get the nomination or a President that has already stopped the bleeding of jobs, a crashing stock market and the war driven foreigh policy of bush that sapped us of young lives and money. With all due respect to Mr.Paul, we are going to get one of these! Ask yourself ” much how much differently do Romney and Santorum sound from bush/cheney and McCain/caribou barbie??Just close your eyes and you won’t know the difference.

      • Mark Are

Ron Paul represents the 99% (though many don’t realize it). He represents an IDEA. He represents FREEDOM, LIBERTY, SELF RELIANCE, RESPONSIBILITY. The other candidates, including the current usurper in Chief, represent the 1%. Since there are many more of us, WE can rally around Ron Paul, and change the face of the world. Ron Paul said, “I am not interested in winning to be President. I am interested in winning to change history.” When he wins, history will show that the 1% are not the rulers but rather WE THE PEOPLE who the Constitution was written to be the guide of government for, are the rulers. The question…do we continue down the road to slavery? Or do we allow a true abolitionist to free us all from the chains of bondage that the Federal Reserve and world banksters have placed around the necks of every man, woman and child on this PLANET? THAT, my friends is the real crux of the matter. ARE WE GOING TO BE SLAVES for the 1% or are we going to have a planet of FREEDOM for the 99%. YOU CAN DECIDE, and say screw what “they” want! . RON PAUL 2012, 2016 RAND PAUL 2020, 2024!

      • DaveH

NC says “or a President that has already stopped the bleeding of jobs”, a crashing stock market and the war driven foreigh policy of bush that sapped us of young lives and money”.
Well, let’s see, When Bush left office Unemployment was at 7.8%. And it peaked at 10.1% after 9 months of Obama. And it’s still at 8.6%, which very well could turn out to be an anomaly since only last month it was 9%:
        http://data.bls.gov/pdq/SurveyOutputServlet?request_action=wh&graph_name=LN_cpsbref3
The crashing stock market largely crashed (2 weeks before the elections) because Obama was going to be elected. It now is nominally recovered to it’s pre-Obama prices, but the dollar is worth 30% less compared to the Canadian and Australian Dollars, so the actual value of the Dow Industrials is now about 30% less than it was just months before Obama’s election.
And with Obama we had the Unconstitutional military involvement in Libya, and involvement in Pakistan, as well as Afghanistan. We are only out of Iraq because the Iraqi Leaders didn’t want us there.

Try as you might, NC, you Liberal Zealots can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.

      • Joe H.

        DaveH,
Don’t forget N. Africa and the fact that Abummer is allowing Mexican troops to stage on US soil for the purpose of incursions into Mexico. Later, when Calderone prooves to be ineffectual as a president of Mexico, Abummer will send troops there to bolster him and battle the drug cartels!!

    • Louis Gurske

Don’t be so sure. There is people in are town that have their heads so far up you now what that he can do now wrong.

      • Alex Frazier

Bro, if I had to live in a Liberal town, I think I would lose my mind. I openly, and even rudely sometimes, criticize the few Liberals I run into down here in South Carolina. In recent times, we’ve been being invaded by Yankees from New York, Mass, Illinois, and similar places. The cost of living for them up there has gotten so out of control that they come here where our cost of living is about 1/4 what theirs is. And when they come, they bring all their Liberal ideas with them.

It apparently never occurs to them that their politics is the reason the cost of living in the north is so damn high. When you give hand outs to everyone, create government jobs for everything, right down to scrubbing toilets on the Union tab for $20 an hour … it inevitably leads to unsustainable debt. The only solution is to raise taxes and add new ways to collect funds through fees, licenses, permits, etc. And the end result is a higher cost of living. It’s not an accident that New York and California are so expensive to live in.

But we don’t do a lot of that nonsense here. We have programs, surely. But it’s nothing like the north. Except that those f*cktards are bringing their mentality down here.

So when I hear a Liberal spouting their trash, I’m very vocal in putting it in its place. If I lived in a town rife with Liberalism, I would truly go mad.

      • Karolyn

Alex – Where I live in SC there are actually quite a few native liberals. The cost of housing and taxes might be lower here, but food costs are higher than up north. Also, it’s precisely jus because of the good ole’ boy network here that nothing much is going on in this state. In some of the areas near this county, the powers-that-be want no change at all – Keep the peons down.

      • libertytrain

karolyn what do you call the good ‘old boy network’ in Chicago, New York, New Jersey and on and on in just about EVERY city however large or small in this country….
Taxes are lower here, home prices are higher where I live than in some areas of the North – perhaps lower in your part of SC – things vary ever so much depending where you visit whether it is the South, the North, the West or the East. Including food prices. Some things are less here some less up North.
You really need to travel more.

      • Karolyn

liberty – I really am not a stupid as you think I am and am well aware of those points you made. I really don’t care to travel. If it were not so expensive, I would not mind going back to Jersey – northwest. Many of the points I make are carried by many of the people who are native to this area. That’s what I base my perceptions on. If they’ve lived here their whole lives and tell me something, why should I doubt them? I have never been faced with the conditions I come across here, although, of course, I am aware that the exist elsewhere.

      • JeffH

libertytrain, I live in Commiefornia which has no equal to liberalism. As a matter of fact Commiefornia sets the highest bar for liberalism in the nation yet I live in what is most probably the most conservative area of Commiefornia. If I based my judgement of this states liberalism on this area I’d have to say that Commiefornia was a conservative state that would be called California…alas…I know better because I can see past the end of my nose…it ain’t “utopia” out there.

      • libertytrain

Karolyn I don’t think you’re stupid. I can tell you until I left the North and returned for visits, I wasn’t aware of how many of the same things they so cutely accuse us of here in the South are in full bloom there and I have noticed that every place I’ve spent time in including Germany. Not prison time :) just have been fortunate enough to spend long blocks of time in many places in our world.

      • libertytrain

      • Alex Frazier

Negative. Unless by “class” you mean rude behavior.

      • libertytrain

Alex, I live in the mountains near Greenville. I can only agree with your assessment. I don’t get why those like Eddie on the left always want to continue to spread bigoted statements like that. Proves to me their lack of tolerance in general for folks.

      • Karolyn

liberty – Greenville is one of the places I have thought about moving to, but I think I might go to Greensboro to be nearer my brother. I haven’t been there but have heard a lot about it. The cold and snow are a drawback for me, though.

      • libertytrain

I would think you might find Greensboro a little more to your liking, i.e. closer to Raleigh and Chapel Hill. I did go through a wicked bad snowstorm in Greensboro last Christmas but snow is not as common as here in the Asheville area. And yes, I think you would find yourself very much at home in Asheville. However, it is very expensive in Asheville (compared to what you have in your area) and surrounding towns on this side of Asheville and I think to go to the other side of Asheville you’d find a whole lot more snow and cold but less expensive housing. I don’t think you’d like Greenville based on what I’ve read from you here.

    • NC

T-TEXAS, I would be ashamed to admit that with all the money being controlled by the Republican Party and a 6-3 republican supreme court that such an obviously (to you, at least) inelgible person is sitting in the Oval Office and has served in the US senate. • Vigilant

Like I said, Ignorance, thy name is NC. Your question has no merit. SCOTUS doesn’t vote that way, that’s why it’s a odd number, to break ties.

How in that walnut-sized brain of yours do you imagine they could vote 4-4 and then have Justice Kennedy say, “I’m going to vote ‘swing’ so neither of the sides holds sway?” No, sonny, he votes either Conservative or liberal. The vote therefore becomes 5-4, of which a great many decisions have come down to.

I know the mathematics may be too deep for you; just study it for about two hours and you might get it.

Stop all the crap and cut to the chase. Mass media and America’s political drones are gearing up to the next target of Rothschild’s dictator round-up. Now that America is in the bag, efforts are being focused on the last NWO holdouts, Dictators like Saddam Hussein, Hosni Mubarak, Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, Moammar Gadhafi, Bashar Al Assad and finally Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Rothschild’s dilemma is how to convince such individuals to relingquish power to a one world government when these dictators feel they own the land, the people and all the natural resources contained within their borders? How do you buy such people, who are in some cases as wealthy as those who sit at the Bilderberg round-table? The answer is you don’t, you instead over-throw by any means possible and then replace them with maleable politicians who are easily purchased in a smoke screen known as the spread of democracy now showing in a theatre of war near you.

    OPEN YOUR EYES PEOPLE!

Sorry, it doesn’t wash. You can bet your bottom dollar that the Muslim Brotherhood, Hesbollah, PLO, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Al Quaeda, et. al., will never accede to the phantom NWO “malleability” you speak of. In fact, it was precisely the powerful dictators like Mubarak and Quaddafi who were better candidates for such foolishness.

If anything, the turn of events in the M.E. has been decidedly AGAINST the cultivation of NWO interests, if they exist at all.

“I guess the real question is, what would you do if the next American Revolution started tomorrow?

        Would you answer the call?

Would you leave your comfortable world to step into the unknown?

Would you do the right thing when everyone is telling you, “don’t do it”?

Would you sacrifice your life so that others can have a shot at living?”

“A…sociopath…might see demons and angels masquerading as ordinary people. He believes cosmic forces are at work in the simplest events. His world is the place of constant high drama and immense conspiracies.”

You sound just like a Liberal which is unusual for you.
Since when does a seemingly intelligent person like yourself become completely unable to research anything on their own?
        You want some leads?
Try “America: Freedom to Fascism” by Aaron Russo for starters.
Then read: “The Creature From Jekyll Island”
The research: Meyer Amschel Bauer and Prince William of Hanau.

Once you begin to understand the history of the Rothschilds and Central Banking you just might start to see the big picture.
But for sure, nobody is going to be able to impart “months” of research and education to you in a couple of paragraphs.

        Do some homework.

JC, you may be right, but I’ve seen so many wild and conflicting claims about the NWO conspiracy that I am skeptical about it all. That there is a group of super rich people in this world that want to maximize their financial power goes without saying. That they want to take over the world is a stretch of imagination. And, given the so-called record of assassinations of political leaders, as well as the alleged fomentation of virtually every world political upheaval, tell me what power would we mere mortals have against such a steamroller.

Along the lines of conflicting statements are the claims that the Arab Spring is some kind of outgrowth of NWO planning. Can there be any doubt that the dictators originally in power were more “malleable” than the Muslim Brotherhood stooges who will eventually take over those countries? Does anyone seriously believe that the mobs in Egypt, Syria, Tunisia and elsewhere gave a damn about Bill Ayers and Co.? Or that imposition of Sharia Law conforms to the aims of the NWO?

Conspiracy theorists, and those who purposely agitate them, are having a field day. But they are “true believers” who will deny every piece of hard evidence that doesn’t fit in with their neat theories. The 9/11 theory, for example, is so shot full of holes, on both a logical and evidential basis, that no truly sane person could deny the voluminous contradictions to it on a number of levels.

NWO is blamed for EVERY crisis, EVERY upheaval, EVERY military action, and EVERY consolidation of central government power. I choose to believe that the changes in the human condition are attributable to scores of factors unrelated to the neat classification of every evil thing under the umbrella of NWO puppeteering.

As for “information” sources, we see every day tremendous mis- and disinformation that’s out there in print and on the web. My recommendation to the theorists is to apply some logic to what they are being spoon fed, and to get away from the “pro” sites and hit a few debunking sites that can offer a more balanced view of the world, if one is as open to the conflicting “information” as they are to the allegations made on the conspiracy sites.

        _____________________________________________________________

Understandable. Which is why you need to form your own opinions from your own analysis. By dismissing all claims of conspiracies you are doing yourself a disservice. Certainly there are a great many fronts on which the NWO are making their advancements. So many in fact that it is impossible to follow them all of put everything you hear into a cohesive train of thought.
My approach is not to confuse or concern myself by trying to analyze absolutely everything I hear or read. I “try” and see the big picture and identify the most important factors working against us. The rest is collateral and designed to distract.
To me, the single most important tool the NWO/Globalists have is the ability to control currencies by way of Central Banking Cartels.
Without that, and as long as we remain very well armed, they would be powerless over us.
I know you have probably heard about the UN initiative: Agenda 21 and like many you may have written it off as too horrific to have any basis in fact…but it is fact. And they aren’t even trying to hide it. Combine that with the verifiable presence f over 800 FEMA camp locations and we’ve “theory” way behind and we are now aware of a Clear and Present Danger to We the People.

        Keep some powder dry. ;)

I’m shocked, shocked I tell you, that libtards would use the word “Target” in any planned offensive. Don’t they regard the word target as offensive (i.e. Gabriel Giffords, Palin’s reference to a demorat candidate being in the crosshairs, etc)? This has to be tongue-in-cheek as the world’s most fearless leader would take eons to decide to attack Iran (he’s delayed the Keystone pipeline till after the 2012 election afterall). John Bolton said the window is closing on the time to attack Iran but I just don’t see it happening, although Israel should give it deep consideration. As should other Arab states who know the dork in Iran is a card-crrying lunatic…

JimBob writes, “John Bolton said the window is closing on the time to attack Iran but I just don’t see it happening, although Israel should give it deep consideration. As should other Arab states who know the dork in Iran is a card-carrying lunatic…”

I foresee no boots-on-the-ground invasion of Iran in the cards. You may see a naval engagement around the Straits of Hormuz, and most likely an Israeli surgical strike on Iranian nuclear sites, but that’s about as far as it will go. The US has insufficient funds/troops to do anything along the lines of all-out invasion.

The military mavens long ago recognized the futility of invading Iran. It’s land area is about 5 times that of Iraq, and its terrain is prohibitive to classical conventional war operations. Moreover, the American public is so fed up with our adventurism in the M.E. that I doubt either Congress or the prez would consider such a tack.

      • Alex Frazier

One might be inclined to think that would be the case. Yet, the primary reason folks are against Ron Paul as a candidate is his foreign policy, which aligns itself appropriately to our financial capabilities and available forces. We don’t have the boots, and we don’t have the bucks. But no one wants Paul because his realistic foreign policy is “dangerous.”

Whatever happened to the concept that if you hit me, I’ll hit you back? It was CALLED SELF DEFENSE. If I was any other small country on the PLANET I’d want a big a$$ed nuke to put in my basement so that I could tell the USA…you punch me, I’ll punch you back. I might be able to only do it ONCE, but I am still going to punch you back. Will all you morons who think that you are so much above the rest of the world go climb under a rock??

A response, if any would more likely be a half hearted conventional one, just to save face.

Besides, the state of Isreal is for the most part a Rothschild creation and although it is being dangled like bait, the elites will see to it that no real harm comes to it.

Remember that Rothschild is not only the Russian mortgage holder, but also sits in the directors chair behind the scenes in this action adventure production.

Biblical prophesy which has proved to be 100% correct for the last 6000 years approximately says Israel is the last man standing though other battered nations also have a remenant. Jesus Christ is coming back to rule from Jerusalem on the throne of His ancestor david. This is as true as the virgin concieve and bore Him 2000 years ago approx.

Elam, part of Israel which is in Baesher where the main nuclear plant is, is to become a place for flocks and thus uninhabitted. The Russia too will be destroyed by God on behalf of His chosen land, Israel, Israel has still not got its full inheretance from the river nile in Egypt to the euphrates and thus we may be seeing the prcursory movements to allow this fulfillment of Biblical prophecy.

I suggest readers have a look at Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38-39 so as they may begin to see what may be the next future ‘war’ declared by God some 2500-3000 hears ago. Christians look up for the Day of The Lord is fast approaching, not Harold Camps day but The Lords day which is known only by Him.

I can’t believe they would be that stupid. We would be at fault. You should know that Israel, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, China, and Russia all have nuclear bombs, none of them have dared attack us nor any other nation, directly. Even the current and previous defense ministars of Israel say that Iran is no threat to them, and they don’t need America “protecting” them. This production is as big a scam as Bush’s unwarranted invasion of Iraq. If we don’t find a way to get rid of Oblammer before he sets off another useless war we will find outselves further into the status of a third world country, closer to a Hitler-like fashist-communist profile, and beyond redemption as a free and honorable country. Dr. Ron Paul is the only presidential candidate who can see this. If you keep poking a stick into anyone’s eye, sooner or later he will poke back with a bigger stick! While we’ve been making every effort to curb schoolyard bullies, we have been setting them a federal example to follow.

      • http://unknown barasheet

Funny you mentioned Hitler. Chamberlain the Prime Minister had a meeting with Hitler pre second world war and saw no threat but that did not stop world war 2. Churchill saw it and navigated the Brit thu the war and ‘luckily’ Japan attacked America which brought the sleeping giant into the fray.

The Leaders of Iran have an entime theology which says in a time of Chaos the 12 imam, The Mahdi, will arrive to kill all Jews and Christians, He will get rid of all crosses and all pigs. Their false Jesus, Isa, will help the Mahdi to do this by slaughtering the Jews and Christians. This is an exact photo negative of what the true Word of God says.

The Iranian president is also on record to say that Israel is to be wiped off the face of the map and that the Great Satan America is also to be done away with. Now you tell me If you had a next door neighbour who is Phycotic threatening to kill your children, grandchildren, animals , and yourself and has shown tendency to do this what would you do. Make no mistake a nuclear Iran is a threat to America and every other freedom loving nation on planet earth more so than Russia and China because they, the radical muslims dont have a MAD probe in their thinking. allah will save them and if not the misogynist have 72 virgins waiting for them.

Ps to my first comment I meant Elam is part of Iran not Israel

If he starts a war before election day he will be gone. Everyone is tired of war no matter what the circumstances are.

      • Karolyn

That’s my feeling. However, as evidenced by some people posting here of late, there are many who are of the “Wipe them off the face of the earth.” type.

      • Earl

Before all you war hawks go off the deep end about “wiping Israel off the map”, Please read the text between the double commas, paying particular attention to the [triple asterisked] section. I have repeatedly posted this tidbit, but everyone still insists otherwise. A clear case of “cognitive dissonance!!”

“”It was reported a week ago that the UN International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) released a report that argued that Iran may have been attempting to build nuclear weapons based on the fact that it had computer models of a nuclear warhead, in addition with other information. On the matter, the report itself states Iran conducted computer model studies and the like, but gives no conclusive damning evidence.

This has led many to argue that Iran is in fact attempting to build a nuclear weapon. What many fail to realize is that not only does the UN report not state the Iran is attempting to build a nuclear weapon, but also the fact that the UN report may very well be biased due to the head of the IAEA’s ties to the US and also that this report could be used as part of a media war for the US-NATO-Israeli alliance to wage war on Iran.

The UN may seem like a neutral organization, but in reality, it can be influenced by outside forces. An example of this is with the head of the IAEA. It was reported last month by The Guardian that a cable released by Wikileaks stated that the new head of the IAEA, Yukiya Amano, “was solidly in the U.S. court on every key strategic decision, from high-level personnel appointments to the handling of Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons program.” [2] In addition to this, when Amano had his first post-election meeting with the US, the Americans came away with the notion that the meeting “illustrate[d] the very high degree of convergence between his priorities and [America's] agenda at the IAEA” and that the coming transition period would “[provide] a further window for [the US] to shape Amano’s thinking before his agenda collide[d] with the IAEA Secretariat bureaucracy.” The fact that the US had plans to shape Amano’s thinking should make one wonder how much influence the US had over him.

The US and Israel could be using this report to argue that their countries should go to war with Iran. However, the information could potentially be false as it was noted by Russia Today that the UN “has found no smoking gun, but has succeeded nonetheless in hyping up fears that Iran is continuing its research on nuclear weapons” (emphasis added) and that the information could be false as
some, like former CIA officer Philip Giraldi, have grave doubts about the value of the IAEA report.

“I would be very skeptical about this report that is coming out from the International Atomic Energy Agency, because the IAEA doesn’t really have any intelligence capabilities of its own. It is relying on reports that are coming from other people. I would rather suspect these reports are coming from the US and Israel,” says Giraldi.

The precedent of US intelligence presenting false evidence to build a case for the war in Iraq raises alarm bells as to the accuracy of the atomic agency’s latest report on Iran.

“You may have a piece of evidence of some kind, but that piece of evidence is subject to your interpretation,” Giraldi says. “When they saw aerial photographs in Iraq showing certain things, they interpreted those photographs to mean something which was not correct.”(emphasis added)

***The possibility that the IAEA report could be using false information is quite possible as the US-NATO-Israeli alliance has been looking to invade Iran for quite some time and has been waging a media war in support of this objective. One major example being the myth that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stated that Iran wanted to wipe Israel off the map. This proved to be completely false as Iranian president was quoting an ancient statement by Iran’s first Islamist leader, the late Ayatollah Khomeini that “this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time” just as the Shah’s regime in Iran had vanished.

He was not making a military threat. He was calling for an end to the occupation of Jerusalem at some point in the future.(emphasis added)***

While this was proven to be false, war hawks in America and Israel still used it as an argument of Iranian aggression. However, the current situation is quite dangerous as Israel may be making moves to bomb Iran, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arguing with his Cabinet for Israel to take such an action. In addition to this, the British military is currently “stepping up their contingency planning for potential military action against Iran amid mounting concern about Tehran’s nuclear enrichment programme” as the British Ministry of Defense thinks that the US may go ahead and strike key Iranian facilities via missile strikes and that Britain will unconditionally support the US. Despite their plans, however, the war mongers may find it difficult to achieve their goals as Russia recently stated that it would “do everything possible to prevent a military strike on Iran and push forward political dialogue on Iran’s nuclear issue.” “”

Contrary to popular belief, a pre-tribulation event of believers being caught up to meet the lord, aka. the Rapture, has been taught for centuries. Ever since the teachings of Christ.

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmDOsrcXscU
        http://www.mayimhayim.org/Academic%20Stuff/Pre-Tribulation%20Rapture.htm

The word of God hasn’t changed. It still talks about the Lord keeping us from the hour of temptation that will come upon the whole earth. Now, everyone ought to be prepared for tribulations in this lifetime. God doesn’t prevent us from experiencing wrath at the hands of man, however, God will prevent those who trust in him from experiencing the wrath of God.

Christ experienced the wrath of God as the penalty for us being sinners so we wouldn’t have to. To state that believers will not be raptured and that we will experience God’s wrath is to also say that the sacrifice of God’s son on the cross was not enough. God would be unjustified to make someone else pay a price that was already paid.

For those who do not believe in Jesus, then God is justified in coming to collect that price from them. We must all pay for being a sinner. We cannot expect to go to heaven once we die, without settling this debt with God. You can try to pay it off on your own, but that will not be enough. Only by accepting what Christ has done, can this debt be paid. Thank God that he gave us such a simple way to pay an incredible debt. Accept the truth and believe in Jesus. We don’t have to ‘do’ anything to earn our salvation. It is a gift freely given, but ultimately must be willingly accepted.

Hey, Bryan. Bless you brother, but get your facts straight. A pre-trib rapture was NOT taught or believed in until the Pope ordered a Jesuit priest in the 1200′s to come up with another explanation concerning prophecy. He did this to stop people from associating him with the Antichrist and the Catholic church with the Beast. If you read your Bible carefully (use your Strong’s concordance!), you will find NO secret rapture, NO semi-second coming of Christ, and NO reason to separate the 70th week of Daniel’s prophecy from the 69th week. Read Matthew 24 CAREFULLY: Christ makes it clear! The current accepted “interpretation” of Biblical prophecy is a red herring made to deceive, if possible, even the Elect.

        The Rapture

“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” – Luke 21:36

“But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethern, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which remain alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall desend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” – I Thess. 13-18

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” – I Cor. 15:51-55

      • Thomas A. Wathen Jr.

All we can do is try to tell ‘em brothers and sisters. When all of a sudden we’re all gone, they’ll know what happened. Then the only choice they’ll have will be to wash their robe in the blood and go into hiding. It’s been reported that in a resent poll, 75% of all Americans identified themselves as Christians. If the rapture were to happen today, I’d be totally in awe if 75% of church members, not to mention the general population of the United States, would be present at that great meeting in the air. (I Thess. 4:16-18) Do You know what the Olivette Prophecies are? Before entering Jerusalem for the last time, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives and told the Deciples for the third time what was going to befall Him. They just weren’t getting it. But He told them not to worry because He would come again. When asked what would be the signs of His return, He gave them these prophecies. (Matt. ch.24, Mark ch.13, and Luke ch.21) Luke ch.17 also touches a little on the End-time Prophecies. Along with many other Old and New Testament prophecies. Study them! Know them! Memorize them! Is your lamp trimmed and burning? (Matt. 25:1-13) Because if you’re not looking up, (Luke 21:28) you surely to God must be blind!!! (II Cor. 4:3&4) Jesus is coming everybody!!! I pray that you’re ready! If you’re not, you may pray a prayer similar to this: “Dear God, I know that You love me. I admit that I’m a sinner. Please forgive me for my sins. I place my faith in Jesus as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.” If you prayed that prayer and meant it with all your heart, know for a certainty that it is impossible for God to lie! (Rom. 10:13) This is what it means to be born-again! (John 3:3) Go find yourself a church, forget about a perfect one, they don’t exist. Surround yourself with Christian friends, they won’t be perfect either, that’s why we need Jesus! Emmerce yourself in Gods’ Word so you’ll know how to fight off ole’ nick. (Eph. 6:13-18) You’re in the Army now, soldier! And now it’s your job to bring as many lost sheep back into the fold as possible. (Matt. 5:14-16) What?! Did you think it was going to be easy? (II Tim. 3:12) But to those of you who, for whatever reason, don’t reach for the lifeline now and find yourself on the other side of the Trib, it’s a win/win, whether you die for Christ or suffer to the end as long as you accept Jesus and DON”T TAKE THE MARK, you’ll be with us in paradise. But why go through all that?!!

What the U.S has been doing and getting away with for the past decades has actually come home to roost in its homeland. We lost our freedoms, Respect, and now our economy. Unfortunately there is no sight of change ahead and things could get very different here in the U.S and so much that most people would rather live in a country like Germany or any other country that has kept themselves at distance with Americas Foreign Policies. Watching the Media propping up all these Pro War Candidates is going to be the reason why this country is going to fall like the Roman Empire did.

      • John Hunter

        Bryan V.
So nice to learn of you, my brother. Very good post.
Allow me to comment on what you said about:
“To state that believers will not be raptured and that we will experience God’s wrath is to also say that the sacrifice of God’s son on the cross was not enough. God would be unjustified to make someone else pay a price that was already paid.” To say that Christians will
experience God’s wrath is also to call God a liar, because we are not
        appointed unto wrath.” I Thess. 5:9; 1 Thess. 1:10; Rom. 5:9.
To me the surest Biblical proof of the Pre-Trib. rapture is the fact
that God could not destroy Sodom and Gomorrah until He got Lot and his family out, even though Lot was carnal and should not have been in Sodom. The Angel had to take him by the hand and practically drag him out. Reminds of how I like to refer to the rapture as “the
Grand Ripoff”, the time when God will “rip Christians off” because
they are delaying and not ready to go.

Clinton and Obama want”to rule instead of represent”. For another President who serves 8 years as effectivly as Clinton, I would give up my front seat in H*LL and sit in the back on a nail keg!! When compared to the economic wreck and dumb wars that bush left us Obama is not doing badly either> See job loss figures of bush’s last months and the Dow falling to 6547>

FIND YOURSELF A CHART OF THE DOW BEGINNING FROM OCTOBER OF 2007, 15 MONTHS BEFORE OBAMA TOOK OFFICE AND WATCH THE DOW BEGIN TO FALL SOME 6000 POINTS BEFORE OBAMA TOOK OFFICE AND ON DOWN TO 6547 IN THE NEXT 40 DAYS! DO YOU THINK THAT JUST MAYBE THE REASONS FOR THE FALL STARTING IN 2007 MIGHT JUST BE THE SAME REASONS IT CONTINUED TO FALL AFTER OBAMAS WAS WORN IN?? I’LL BET THAT MOST ADULTS HERE WILL SEE THE CONNCTION! THERE IS AN OLD SAYING THAT “WALL STREET LOVES THE DEMCRATS’! DO YOU WONDER WHY THE SMART MONEY LOVES THE DEMOCRATS> IT’S THE DEMOCRAT RECORD> SEE ” BULLS, BEARS, DONKEYS AND ELEPHANTS” GET ME SOME REPUBLICAN OR LIBERTARIAN FIGURES TO MATCH THOSE FIGURES!! NO REPUBLICAN (CONSERVATIVE) HAS EVER COME UP ANY FIGURES TO MATCH THEM! A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF “WHY” IS WHEN BUSH CHANGED THE CLINTON APPROACH WITH “TRICKEL DOWN”, PROMISING A SURPLUS BUT PRODUCING MORE DEBT !!CLINTON STARTED WITH THE DOW AT 3500 AND IT WAS 10,591 bush’s first full day in office and headed to 6547 when he left! 200% INCREASE under Clinton and 40% LOSS under bush!

Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you. Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.” – James 5:1-8

You people and your Clinton surplus garbage…never was any surplus under Clinton…you know it and I know it! Jeesh, and you’re ‘sposed to be a proffessional…sheeple?

Not once during the Clinton Administration did the national debt go down, nor did Clinton leave President Bush with a budget surplus that he spent at a frat party kegger. Yes, the budget was almost balanced in FY2000 (ending in September 2000 with a deficit of “only” $17.9 billion), but it never reached zero–let alone a positive number. Clinton’s last budget proposal for FY2001, which ended in September 2001, generated a $133.29 billion deficit. The growing deficits started in the year of the last Clinton budget, not in the first year of the Bush administration.

Clinton did not achieve a surplus and he didn’t leave President Bush with a surplus. Only in Washington can you use these accounting principles and not be convicted of accounting fraud under Sarbanes- Oxley aka; also known as the Public Company Accounting Reform and Investor Protection Act of 2002.

You can thank a republican congress for a lot what clinton was supposed to have done. He does not deserve the credit for all of this. Especially in his second term being distracted by his dalliance with Monica Lewinsky. (I did not have sexuall relations with that woman). Which we all know was a outright lie. Don’t build up this persons reputation. He came into office a crook and went out of office as a richer crook. Like they all do. Again Clinton is not responsible for all the good things that happened during his eight years. Congress had more to do with that.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Truth is Clarence, Bill Clinton raised taxes more than any president in history. He sold our technology to China. He cut our military and intelligence in half and left us vulnerable for the enemy to set up and pull off 9-11, and there isnt a doubt about that. Not even arguable. He sold our jobs to Mexico, and he defiled the office of the President of the United States. He weakened us before our enemies, and left us a laughing stock after he let them bomb the USS Cole and did nothing, and the first WTC center basement bombing, and he did nothing. He was offered Bin Laden, and again, he did nothing. He set up the bank collapse with his American dream of everyone being able to buy a house, by taking federal money and telling the banks that old Uncle Sam would back their loans, and to lend to anyone, even if they didnt have a snowballs chance in hell of paying it back. Then geez, things look funny, and Bush calls an investigation, only to be turned down by the appointed watchdog, Barney Frank. Thank Bill Clinton and his democrat cronies for the bank collapse also. The guy was a leper, the worst example of a president we have ever had. And he left us in a major recession pal. Did you forget that? And he left us naked to our enemies, with a plundered military and intelligence agencies, which lead to the bad intel that led us into Iraq in the first place. Again, all the fault of one William Jefferson Clinton, the leper. History is telling the tale, and as more and more time passes, this guy is getting exposed over and over again for the jerk that he was. And dont forget, he even tried to steal the furniture on the way out the door. What a hillbilly.

If you could cite some substantive policy success of Obama, it would be nice. He did select the right option in the opportunity regarding OBL; however, his silence on the waterboarding resulting in the key information for this opportunity was deafing. He has without question failed in the private sector job environment with his taxpayer spending by “stimulus” going to unions with “no shovel ready” jobs. All anybody has to do is check the radical people within his administration. What movie could possibly salvage such a discredited administration?

Virginis, have you ever asked yourself WHY the American people put the Democrats back in power after 12 years of REPUBLICAN congressional control and 6 years of bush. Could they see the economy getting weaker and the failure OF the trickle down to produce the PROMISED surplus? Their first major legislaton was to give bush the stimulus money that bush came crying for SO THINGS MUST HAVE BEEN GETTING VERY BAD> IT WASN’T THE FIRST MONEY THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION HAD PUMPED INTO HIS DYING ECONOMY!

I don’t know how successful we’ll be come November. Do keep in mind that only one Republican candidate is against going to war with Iran. The rest all want military action to prevent Iran from getting what it doesn’t have and that there is no evidence they even will. So if war with Iran is a potential cyclical turning point in the freedom and prosperity of the United States, then we are in for a real inflationary ride no matter who gets in office … unless it’s Ron Paul.

But, they say, his foreign policy of “stop antagonizing other nations and try peace and diplomacy” is “dangerous.”

On a good note, if Obama takes us to war with Iran, I will no longer have to consider that aspect of the campaign with the current crop of candidates. Up until now, I wouldn’t have voted for anyone but Ron Paul, because I didn’t want to vote in someone that would take us to war without good cause. But if we’re already at war when the election comes, I can weigh the other merits independently. I still prefer Ron Paul, and I have every intention of voting for him in the South Carolina primary. However, I will have less issue voting for someone else in the general election if Paul doesn’t get the nomination, due to the fact that the war will have already begun.

I still don’t like Santorum because he voted for the Patriot Act. So I don’t care what sort of momentum last night got him, he’s still on my sh1t list. BUT, he’s definitely the lesser of two evils if he gets the nomination. Nevertheless, I’m not happy with his betrayal of his oath.

I make the effort to share this information because it gives me, at last, a plausible answer to a long-unanswered question: Why, no matter how much intelligent goodwill exists in the world, is there so much war, suffering and injustice? It doesn’t seem to matter what creative plan, ideology, religion, or philosophy great minds come up with, nothing seems to improve our lot. Since the dawn of civilization, this pattern repeats itself over and over again.

The answer is that civilization, as we know it, is largely the creation of psychopaths. All civilizations, our own included, have been built on slavery and mass murder. Psychopaths have played a disproportionate role in the development of civilization, because they are hard-wired to lie, kill, cheat, steal, torture, manipulate, and generally inflict great suffering on other humans without feeling any remorse, in order to establish their own sense of security through domination. The inventor of civilization – the first tribal chieftain who successfully brainwashed an army of controlled mass murderers – was almost certainly a genetic psychopath. Since that momentous discovery, psychopaths have enjoyed a significant advantage over non-psychopaths in the struggle for power in civilizational hierarchies – especially military hierarchies.

Behind the apparent insanity of contemporary history, is the actual insanity of psychopaths fighting to preserve their disproportionate power. And as their power grows ever-more-threatened, the psychopaths grow ever-more-desperate. We are witnessing the apotheosis of the overworld – the overlapping criminal syndicates that lurk above ordinary society and law just as the underworld lurks below it.

During the past fifty years, psychopaths have gained almost absolute control of all the branches of government. You can notice this if you observe carefully that no matter what illegal thing a modern politician does, no one will really take him to task. All of the so called scandals that have come up, any one of which would have taken down an authentic administration, are just farces played out for the public, to distract them, to make them think that the democracy is still working.

I’m no expert on this but some here are believers don’t believe in the rapture while others do. However, it is much like the Bible Code (not the Divinci Code which is fiction). There is a lot of evidence but one doesn’t HAVE to believe in it, AND it is dangerous if it’s a substitute for living well and growing in the spirit (the real purpose of life). Sadly it seems like it always the Democrats who get us into war (WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam – the current one is an exception). If we were allowed to use our own oil we wouldn’t have to be over there to begin but with the Democratically supported EPA we cannot so it would seem that more war is inevitable.

Additionally many things have to happen before the rapture if there is one. The comet or asteroid hitting the ocean that John saw in a vision and recorded in Revelation, and a host of other things have to happen first. (Think “Deep Impact” – the movie – on that one, if you are really interested. I recorded in my autobiography how the Spirit of the Lord told me in 1998 as I sat in the theater waiting to see the movie, that “One day, something similar, to what you are about to see, will happen”.)

In any event we would be wise to prepare for the really hard times that are coming, the big inflation, and even food shortages. Even the atheists and elitists who think they are above such things, will be affected. We who are believers need to grow closer to God so we will not be swept away in the all that is coming or fearful. I know of no one that God has told, “if you do this I will spare the USA or the world” but of course, we need to pray for the congress and the president that they will do what is best, and not just what is expedient. God has, however, warned many in dreams and visions and out right verbal wisdom of what is coming.

Yes, it will be a taste of His righteous judgement. What we do with those warnings is up to us but I have tried to warn others, though I’m not very good at it. My advice would be to try to live your life so that even atheists will want to know what you have that they do not. God loves them as much as you and me and the coming hard times may last for a long time until the country or the world returns to righteousness (on that I can only guess) but even here the Bible gives us some idea. Israel was led into captivity for 80 years! Things are speeded up in our times so hopefully we would learn our lesson sooner. May God bless you and all who read this.

OK AJ. let’s see. Bush/Cheney lied us into Iraq…supported by the craming angry cadres of the Right. Sammy was not a good guy by any stretch of the imagination, but we had him bottled up and controlled. But the Right screamed, ranted, raved, and called for supporting the lies which were out and out blatant and unprovable. Heck…even daring to ask for proof was considered by the Right to be jailable time.

And what was Sammy to iran? Sworn enemies. No love between ‘em. Sammy would have freaked out had he been faced with a nuclear Iran. So Bush/Cheney conjured up the lies, told the minions what to think, and went to war despite the majority of Americans saying ‘wait a second here..something is not adding up”.

So Bush/Cheney and the wacked Far Right strengthened Iran. Immeasurably so. Fact is, Bush/Cheney were either grossly incompetent, or they did it deliberately.

We now have a full fledged “silent war’ going on with iran these past three years. Hacking computers, shipments disappearing before they arrive, sudden disappearances of kety scientists, electrical outage at key times etc. And increasing tightening of sanctions.

To the point this ‘silent war’ isn’t exactly silent amongst the international community. Not when iran tries to knock off the Saudi Ambassador in the US as retaliation for what we, GB, and Israel are doing.

So…instead of complaining…suggest something. What would you do? .

All the dems voted to go to war. The president cannot go to war, without congressional approval, well, that is until Obama went to war with Libya without it. But again, all the dems cried he had to be stopped, and they all voted for war against Iraq. So stop your Bush illegal war lies. Just stop it. Its pathetic.

How many inspection teams had been in Iraq since bush took offiCE(1/20/01) before the invasion in 3/03 and what had they found as WMDs. The same thing 1,000,000 troops walking over the country found in the next6 years! NOTHING.How many flyovers and spy satelLite passes had occured and what had they found? NOTHING! CONGRESS MAY DECLARE WAR BUT ONLY THE COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF CAN SEND IN THE TROOPS.What did the chump-in-chief KNOW FOR SURE that made Iraq a big enough danger to get 4500 killed and 30,000+ seriously wounded? NOTHING!!!

What was in either resolution that demanded that bush invade before he was positive of his “reasons’ NOTHING!! Even if the people who voted for the resolutions assumed the reasons existed did they not have the right to assume that the ivasion would be carried out in a profesional manner? Properly researched which obviously wasn’t done and properly ececuted which was so bad that even bush and cheney apologized for it! “GREET US WITH CHOCOLATES AND FLOWERS” MY BIG FAT BUTT!!

“How many inspection teams had been in Iraq since bush took offiCE(1/20/01) before the invasion in 3/03…”

How many of those inspection teams were allowed to go anywhere they wanted when they wanted without any delays…ZERO. They were supposed to have instant access to any site they wanted to inspect but at best had to wait weeks before they were allowed into any instalation. A lot can be concealed or moved in weeks. We know Sadam had WMDs because he used them on both his own people and the Iranians.

Try again IT. Sammy let them go where ever they wanted to. They had sudden flight changes to see if they could catch him at shuffling the deck. Nothing. Remember bush saying ‘we knew where they were’ but refused to tell the UN Inspection team?

BTW..Congress authorized the use of sufficient force to do whatever was necessary to protect against Sammy….they did not direct the military be used. The choice was left to Bush/Cheney.

And the Religious Right and ignorant who later made up the TP swallowed the lies.

      • Buster the Anatolian

You try again flashy pants. I remember numerous news reports about the inspectors being made to wait and having to turn around and come back at Saydum’s convienence instead of being allowed to inspect when they wanted.

      • Dennis48e

I only remember reports of how the inspection teams were turned back from different sites they wanted to inspect. As far as the satalite coverage mentioned, we did not have satalite coverage 24/7/365 over Iraq. There were significant gaps in the coverage that the Sadam used to move things around (the Scud missles are one example).

      • speedle

Get off the missing WMD story NC. As previously stated every swinging ding dong in Washington (including most Democrats) thought there was WMD and went along with the invasion idea. That said, who knows if whatever WMDs were in Iraq were not immediately (upon the start of war) shipped off to Syria or some other dirty little oasis in the middle east?

In any case it is an old and tired smear with no meaning. The biggest mistake made by Bush was Bush 41′s failure to finish the job in the original war. And we should have had an “oil for protection” deal worked out after that.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I know that teams from the United Nations went in there before Bush, and had an inventoried list of WMD’s that were supposed to be destroyed, but never were, and just like Houdini, they disappeared. Gee NC, you dont supposed Iran, or Syria or Libya or Somalia or someone like that would take them and hide them from us do you? No way, those guys are just misunderstood nice guys. Right? Gimme a break. And dont forget, before Bush was even a candidate for president, before he was a candidate, many a democrat stood high on his pedestal and yelled to the country on live TV and live radio, that Saddam Hussein was a mad man with weapons of mass destruction and he had to be stopped. I witness this many, many times. Bush was not president when I first started hearing this stuff. They all voted for the war. They all pushed for it. Then they turned around and ran and acted out against it like the traitors they are. Of course, thats just the truth. Dont be afraid of it.

      • eddie47d

Stop trying to put a pretty bow on the Iraq War Beberoni. It wasn’t justified then and it isn’t now and no matter how you try to tie that bow it is still Bush’s War.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

No sir, it is the war the democrats intentionally sabotaged in their vile efforts to make the whole thing collapse after we leave, and they will get their way. Ive talked to way too many guys that were there, and the difference was night and day from when the Obama admin came in. They set purpose to screw it up. You know it was bad news for them if it all followed through to be a peaceful end, where all the middle east wanted peace like Iraq could have had. It was bad business for the democrats if it succeeded. It was death for them. But hey hey, if they could make it all collapse, they could get out their little soap boxes and continue to point their fingers, and say look what Georgie caused. Look at all the lives and money he wasted for nothing. All in order to make themselves look like a better party to vote for. It makes me sick. All those young people gave their lives, just to have politicians do what they have now done, and sank the whole thing. Yeah, thats what I see, and thats what I hear from those who were there. But I assure you, when it all falls down, and it will because the democrats have taken the steps to make sure it falls, its not going to make them look good. Its going to make America look bad to the world. Thanks democrats. Thanks a lot. Bush wasnt perfect, and I know many of you hate him, and hate the fact that he was willing to punch back at these guys, but you can only stick your head in the sand so long, before the sand around you starts to get disturbed by the shrapnel exploding around you. Does anyone even remember 9-11. Have we that easily forgotten. I havent, and I wont. Its not time to sit around the camp fire and sing kum-baya all day. They are still there, and the still hate us, and they will be coming after us again. There is no doubt about that. All of you can hate war and think we dont need to fight anyone, but we will be fighting this on our soil soon, if we choose to sit back and do nothing. Some say, leave them alone and they will leave us alone. If you seriously believe that, you will awaken one day and find out how wrong you are. Do you just let them keep blowing up thing after thing, building after building, and pretend its just a few guys, and that there arent regimes and countries in the middle east behind it? Come on man. I want someone to tell me what we are supposed to do, besides sit around and wait for them to come get us and start lobbing nukes at us. Because when they get them, oh yeah, they will use them. There is no doubt about it.

      • Karolyn

All blame cannot be placed on democrats. Repubs & dems are all the same.

      • Mark Are

The president isn’t supposed to go to war WITHOUT A DECLARATION of WAR. Not “congressional approval”. Oh, that’s right, they don’t follow the pesky Constitution any more.

      • http://yahoo JAN

blame bush THEY ARE ALL ABOUT BLAMING SOME ONE ELS..The Dems like to go to war. This action Obummer is calling for is the most ridiculiuos one yet. He has put us 3 WARS since he came in ofice.

“I had rather be governed by a competent muslim than an incompetent Christian.”

      • DaveH

The question is, Flashman, since you imply that you’re against the wars, why aren’t you expecting the same moral behavior out of Obama that you expected out of Bush?
Is it because your Principles change depending on who’s in office?

      • DaveH

Or is it because you don’t have any Principles?

      • Flashy

in what way am I contradictory? We had Iraq bottled up pre Cheney/Bush/fear-led Right. Sammy was well in hand. Then Cheney/Bush manufactured evidence, misled Congress, had their cronies pay a few off…and the sanity went out the window.

I have not spoken against the “silent war” because it is what we need to do thanks to Cheney/Bush. Folks who say nothing is being done are those who desire all out war. Obama is dealing with the cards dealt by the GOP and the fear led minions ,mouthing what they are told by the Right.

Obama knocked off bin Laden, Qadaffi is gone as is Ben Ali. Yemen’s President is for all purposes gone, Mubarek is gone. Assad is holding by a tenuous thread. 80% of al Qaeda leadership are pushing up flowers. Seems to me without war Obama has done a darn good job nailing supporters of terrorism. Far more than Bush/Cheney…who created al Qaeda, strengthened it, and lightly slapped it a few times for PR sake.

So Dave..what would you do with Iran? Send them a birthday cake?

      • DaveH

Flashman, don’t insult the readers’ intelligence. Anybody, who takes the time to read enough of your comments, knows that you are just a Big Government shill. Your flip-flopping Principles would embarrass Mitt Romney.

      • Flashy

No answer eh Dave? Hmmm…Mises must not have a web link covering this for you. You have no idea what has been done, haven’t bothered knowing what is being done…yet you think you can complain and someone actually listens? Isn’t that sort of like making up something and saying it’s legitimate when no one else considers it close to legitimate..ala’ “Austrian Economics”

BTW…have you ever read some of the stuff you link out as ‘authority’ supporting your view (or attacking someone else’s?) most of the time it isn’t even relevant to the point you wre trying to make.

        Now…who’s the shill?

      • eddie47d

Although the Republicans and some Democrats did poke and prod Iran in stirring the hornets nest before Obama was elected. Obama now needs to lead by example in avoiding any confrontation with that country. Flahy is correct in saying the Republicans started the ball rolling but that doesn’t mean the Democrats have to follow like lemmings. A Republican warmonger is no different than a Democrat warmonger. To stop this freight train we need to lay off using terms of coward, appeasement or saying this is in the best interest of our country. It’s not worth it no matter who is in charge.

      • JeffH

That’s correct eddie “A Republican warmonger is no different than a Democrat warmonger”…but to think Obama is any different(speaking of warmongering) than Bush is purely naive. The Obama administration has made it pretty clear that:
        1. screw the states and the American public, I’m the head master and I’ll use whatever I have in my arsenal to get my way

        2. screw the Constitution, I can circumvent the constitution with EO’s or just ignore the Constitution completly and let the courts sort it out

        3. war is now good because I say so – Libya, next is Iran, Afghanistan/Pakistan, Syria and in Obama’s own words: “U.S. forces will deploy into Uganda, South Sudan, the Central African Republic, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.”

Obama should have listened to his own anti-war 2008 talking points but then again, he’s a lying community organizer and a faux politician just like his predecessors.

      • JeffH

Hear Hear! eddie…”It’s not worth it no matter who is in charge.”

They all want power and they all want money…war is the easist way for politicians, the huge corps and the BANKERS to get both…they really don’t give a damn right or left…they use those that have a cause to get what they want.

Same way they need a right and left to wage war…2 sides to finance…2 ways to profit…a win win situation and a great way to reduce population…it would only satisfy them more if they could kill us of faster.

Defense Personnel Transport Uranium Ore Out of Iraq
        By Jim Garamone
        American Forces Press Service

WASHINGTON, July 7, 2008 – Defense personnel have completed the transfer of 550 metric tons of Iraqi uranium ore to Canada, Defense officials said here today.

The Iraqi government asked the United States to help transfer the yellowcake — as the ore is known — from Tuwaitha Nuclear Research Center near Baghdad to its buyer in Canada, Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said today.

The military dubbed the movement Operation McCall, and it ended July 5. DoD’s portion of the operation involved the transfer of the ore.

Yellowcake is a uranium ore that can be processed to become nuclear fuel. State and Energy Department personnel also participated in the transfer.

Officials transferred the uranium by convoy from Tuwaitha nuclear research facility to a secure location in Baghdad’s International Zone, Whitman said. The ore was in 110 shipping containers. The shipping containers were placed aboard Air Force C-17 Globemaster III airlifters and taken to an intermediate location. It took 37 sorties to transfer the yellowcake.

At the intermediate location — which Whitman could not name — the ore was loaded aboard the SS Gopher State, a Military Sealift Command ship, which took it to Montreal.

“This was material that was discovered when we initially went in to Tuwaitha,” Whitman said. “It was under the control of the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency since that time.”

Whitman stressed that yellowcake is not of direct use in a nuclear weapon. “It is a commodity that is traded routinely in the global nuclear energy sector,” he said. “It can be used as a feed material for nuclear weapons if a country has access to the necessary fuel technology.”

The cost of the transfer was $70 million, and the government of Iraq will reimburse the United States for a portion of the cost, Whitman said.

        Flashy,
Realize that Bush/Chaney did do it deliberately under the same puppet masters as Obumf_ck. Do away with the Rothchild dynasty and the problems of the world might have a chance at being overcome.

    • skip

What nonsense, guys. The Iraq war was started for absolutely no good reason by W and Cheney and ruined a nation, and that nation – Iraq – was a foil to Iran and a threat to no-one else. Now we have to pay the price for that idiocy. Iran is a nuclear threat and a threat to world energy supply disruption. Now we have one hell of a mess, and Obama has to deal with it. The world told us not to adventure into Iraq but we stupidly and with manipulation blundered in, converting French fried to freedom fries. The world now is uniformly aligned against Iran’s threats, which are real and are known. To call Obama a war-monger is the height of mendacity – the Bush administration brought us into 2 humdingers which we had/have no chance of winning, did nothing to fund them except to help bankrupt the nation.

      • Flashy

Fits Bush to a “T’ doesn’t it. Now how do you explain the mindless robots of the Right who supported his policies and denigrated those (including calling the treasonous) who dared question that insanity

      • JeffH

Give it up Flashy, give it up…who cares anymore except maybe you and a few other stragglers hanging around. It’s all about the here and now and has been for quite some time now but that thought kinda threatens your reason for being here doesn’t it. Can’t you see that your beloved O’man is as much or more of a warmonger than Bush/Cheney and they’re being manipulated by the same group of masters? Is that too far over your head to understand?

      • Joe H.

        JeffH,
Flashy’s point of attack is to try to create a chasm between the voters here at PLD so we will be at each others throats and not agree that Abummer is the cause of our problems NOW! He is doing absolutly NOTHING to rectify the problem of the budget, the economy, or the value of the dollar. As long as he continues his “do nothing” term, we will languish in major debt and turmoil!!!

      • JeffH

Joe H., Flashy is like the “white noise” that is in the background…after a little while you don’t even notice him…LMAO!

      • greg

You say the wars that Bush started bankrupted our nation? Did you ever notice what our national debt was when Bush left office and what it is now? Obummer has quadupled our debt since he’s been in office. And now it’s OK to go to war with Iran since Obummer is going to lead it. You say Europe is on our side. We have been warned by other countries such as Russia, that if we do, we are declaring war agaisnt them. Wake up you stupid liberals. Obummer has walked all over our constitution in several ways, such as going to war without Congress’ approval, making several new laws that are against the constitution, etc.

      • skip

Our current president had to deal with the horrific mess that was dealt him – two unfunded wars, Wall Street gone mad, a population that had no restraints on spending what they didn’t have, and a bunch of crazies in the Congress and Senate who believe in one man rule – one filibustering idiot after another preventing even appointments to the Printing Office. That mob should be sent to Leavenworth and allow the country to be governed. The biggest bunch of know-nothings, do-nothings, hate mongers ever assembled in a governing body. Obama is center-center right in the political universe, so far from a socialist or marxist that it is laughable to suggest that. I guess you consider Medicare and Social Security socialist and Marxist as well, also stop lights, speed limits, the FDA, and the FAA. About time for you to live in the desert or backwoods where you can avoid these threats, and gun down park rangers if you are unhappy.

      • Joe H.

OH, I see your train of thought skippy!! It’s wrong if the population spends out of control, but it’s ok if the president and the government does it!!! Thank you, it’s so much clearer now!!! NOT!!!

      • mark

No, get your facts straight, the national debt was around $11.5 trillion in Sept. 2009 when Obama submitted his first budget for the fiscal year which began Oct. 1, 2009. Today the national debt is $14.8 trillion. Obama did not quadruple the national debt. Bush doubled it from $5.5 trillion in 2001 to over $11 trillion in 2009. Reagan tripled the national debt from 900 billion in 1981 to $2.6 trillion in 1989. Obama will in all likelihood double the national debt to around $22 trillion. He will not quadruple it.
By the way the best deficit president of recent years was the hated Bill Clinton. He inherited a nat’l debt of around $4.2 trillion and when he left office it was $5.5 trillion an increase of only 30%. In fact in his last 3 years in office, Clinton actually had some annual surpluses that began paying the nat’l debt down. But Bush immediately stopped this with his endless wars and tax cuts, returning us to our horrible debt slide – DURING A TIME OF RELATIVE PROSPERITY 2003-2007 – NOT DURING A MONSTROUS RECESSION 2008-2011.

      • JeffH

mark, mark, mark…again, Clinton never had a surplus…see my response to swinney furthe up. FY 2000, -17.9 billion deficit isn’t a surplus and FY 2001 -133.3 drficit wasn’t a surplus either.

        jeff, he’s a libby…they don’t need facts.
They just have to “feel” that there was a surplus.
So it “must” be true…. ;)

Rep & Dem are in bed with the special interest that use our military for personal gains that have nothing to do with Nation Security. people are so ignorant and accept the propaganda feed to them through the media. This country has been falling economically for decades and it will fall further, with Obamma, or a Romni .

      • Vigilant

I doubt that GWB ever thought his nation-building exercise in Iraq would fail, but we’re right now on the cusp of discovering just how big that failure will have turned out to be.

It was not democratic ideals that kept the lid on Iranian aspirations, it was the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein that maintained the balance of power so necessary to bottle up Iran.

The military adventurism in Iraq has accomplished just the opposite of what was intended. The political weakening of Iraq has given Iran the opportunity to expand its influence, and I believe it’s just a matter of time before Iraq comes under the hegemony of the fanatics in Teheran.

Thomas Rick’s excellent book “Fiasco” lays out the frightful scenario as follows: all it would take to embroil the M.E. is an Iranian excursion against the Sunnis or the Kurds in Iraq. Saudi Arabia and other Sunni nations would be brought into the conflict as a result, and the carnage would be historic. Even Turkey could take a hand, possibly in league with Iran, to put down the Kurds whom they so roundly hate, and who sit on the richest oil resources in Iraq.

The footholds already established by Iran via its surrogates Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad have almost encircled Israel. You can have no doubt that Iranian operatives are active in Lebanon and Syria. For Israel to remain out of the picture in such an embroilment is difficult to imagine.

Such is one of several scenarios, but the bottom line is clear: our military adventurism in Iraq, rather than serving to strengthen that nation, has merely divided it so someone else can conquer it.

Well truth is, the two humdingers you talk about, had this war won, had it under control, and had peace coming fairly quickly, until, wow, enter Obama and the democrats. Now the democrats could not have this go well, as it made the republicans look good, and they would never get a vote, so they did their dirty little deeds, and they turned the tides of war. Look at what is happening already. Nice job Obama. You guys got what you wanted. But it doesnt make you look good like you thought. Those of us paying attention, think it is disgusting that you think that little of the American lives lost over there, to make it all in vain and let it collapse on purpose for your political advantage. Its going to get exposed, and it will catch up to all you democrats soon. Real soon. Shame on you.

Springtime for Hitler [ala The Producers] was very funny, John. Target Iran is not at all funny. It’s entirely possible that TPTB [ala the world's puppet masters] have found the perfect, universal bad guy.
As long as it’s a movie, that’s OK.
If the damned thing ever gets ‘on the road,’ it will get more than interesting, and it will get that way FAST.
It sounds like the basket case in Iran wants to be a unique martyr. If he’s willing to let everyone else in Iran suffer for his mental problems, there isn’t anything I can do about it. It sounds like a most unusual way to talk to God, only to find out that God does NOT hand out mortal franchises to ‘do His work.’

Obviously, Iran is run by a cabal of both secular and religious nut cases, much to the dismay of most of the good people of Iran, and there ARE a lot of good people there; well educated, most of whom know far better what’s going on in the whole world than the average American! Unfortunately, our military, industrial, financial complex, and their hirelings (the vast majority of our politicians – especially the current Republicans) need to continue our “state of perpetual war”, so Iran is stupidly setting themselves up to be our next “victims”. “Target Tehran”?? Heck, you can take that to the bank! It’s a “done deal”.
