CNN Haters, Bachmann Accusations Do Not Deter Paul

CNN Haters, Bachmann Accusations Do Not Deter Paul

Despite the fact that the mainstream media have pulled no punches against Republican Presidential primary hopeful Ron Paul, his campaign is continuing to gain steam as the Iowa caucus, the first in the Nation, approaches.

Two polls released on Wednesday show Paul in a dead heat with fellow GOP contender Mitt Romney; however, the polls conflict one another, each reporting opposite leaders by similar margins.

A poll conducted by Public Policy Polling shows Paul leading the pack among likely voters in Iowa, with 24 percent saying they would vote for him over Romney’s 20 percent. PPP accredits Paul’s popularity to his ability to unite non-traditional Republicans, independents and some Democratic converts. Romney still takes the most favor among mainstream Republicans.

“If Ron Paul really manages to change the electorate by turning out large numbers of young people and independents, he should win Iowa,” said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling. “If it’s a more traditional turnout with an older electorate, Romney will probably win. And given his personal popularity it’s worth keeping an eye on [Rick] Santorum in the final week.”

CNN and Time conducted a separate poll that shows Romney leading with 25 percent to Paul’s 22 percent heading in to the caucus. It has been pointed out that the CNN-Time poll — unlike the PPP poll — surveyed only a list of declared Republicans that was provided by the Iowa Secretary of State.

Many people have in the past week questioned if CNN is running a campaign against Paul after the news network repeatedly aired a heavily cut video that makes it appear as if Paul walked out on an interview with reporter Gloria Borger after she asked him the same question several times about controversial newsletters published under his name.  The full video of the interview reveals CNN’s sleight-of-hand reporting tactic and portrays the interview in a different light.

Despite the CNN-driven controversy, Paul is continuing to pick up key supporters, some even from the campaigns of fellow candidates. Michele Bachmann’s Iowa campaign chairman, Senator Kent Sorenson, jumped ship on Wednesday to offer his support to Paul’s campaign in a decision that ignited headlines throughout the media.

Sorenson released a statement saying that he had a difficult time choosing which of the two candidates to support from the beginning but, given Paul’s surge in the polls and real chance at the Presidency, he felt joining the campaign was in the best interest of the country.

A portion of Sorenson’s statement reads:

Ron Paul is the only candidate to predict the current mess we find ourselves in economically, and he’s the only candidate to offer a true plan to cut spending and balance our budget.

He’s also consistently spoken out against government spending, assaults on individual liberties, and unnecessary trillion-dollar military adventurism for over 30 years. Polls show he is the Republican candidate that can take on and defeat President Obama in November 2012.

Bachmann denied that Sorenson’s decision was made for love of country but contended in a Wednesday announcement that it was for love of money, saying, “Kent Sorenson personally told me he was offered a large sum of money to go to work for the Paul campaign. Kent campaigned with us earlier this afternoon and went immediately afterward to a Ron Paul event and announced he is changing teams. Kent said to me yesterday that ‘everyone sells out in Iowa, why shouldn’t I,’ then he told me he would stay with our campaign. The Ron Paul campaign has to answer for its actions.”

Despite the accusation from Bachmann, Iowa political director for her own campaign, Wes Enos, denies that money could have been a motivator for Sorenson’s decision. His comments appeared later on Paul’s campaign website.

“I won’t say much about the situation or the conflicting statements beyond this; I can say unequivocally that Kent Sorenson’s decision was in no way financially motivated,” said Enos.

Sorenson’s decision to endorse Paul comes just after one of the Texas Congressman’s former aides, Eric Dondero, attempted to do damage to the campaign by saying Paul is “unsettled by being around gays personally” and is “out of touch” with black and Hispanic voters in an editorial on RightWingNews.com. The Paul campaign described Dondero as “a disgruntled former staffer who was fired for performance issues.”

The New York Times reported Wednesday that despite the flurry of accusations and controversy media and other candidates are drumming up around Paul, droves of college students are currently arriving in Iowa to assist with the ground campaign in the State. The young supporters, whom Paul has embraced in the past as “having a better grasp of the meaning of liberty than many lawmakers in Washington,” are expected to be vital to the success of the Paul campaign.

I believe Romney to be the answer for all voters. He will say what you want to hear and if you don’t agree with today’s speech it will be the opposite one tomorrow. He sure slammed Newt around in Iowa with all the mysterious super PAC funding coming in from Wall Street.

    • Karolyn

I like that. So with Rommney, we can hear what we want to hear if we just wait long enough for him to flip.

      • JC

Same with Gingrich, Obama and all the other bought and paid
        for NWO shills.

  • Brogan

Average Joe, Ron Paul simply can’t beat obama. He is a isolationist which in this day of age does not work. He may be smart in domestic affairs but as I stated before he is not smart on foreign policy.

    • Karolyn

So are you one of those war-mongers/young men sacrificers? Which is what we’ll get with anybody else.

    • JC

      Garbage! Absolute propogandist Garbage!
Non-intervention and isolationism are two different things.
America needs to look after America for a while and stop being the biggest tool in the Globalists tool box.

Go sell it down the street…

    • Joe H.

      Brogan,
I suggest you look up the difference between non-interventionist and isolationist!! You have made that mistake here at least three times!!!

  • Ann Wilson Kingsley

Michelle Bachman is a sore loser! In addition to slandering Sorenson, Bachman threw her PAC support to RINO Romney instead of to front runner “Conservative” Ron Paul. Bachman has distinguished herself as being a RINO. Of course, Sorenson went to Ron Paul’s campaign. Some people actually live by their principles. We are happy to see that Sorenson is a principled Conservative.

    • Joe H.

As long as he doesn’t get in and sabotage R. Paul!!!

  • JJM

I believe what Sorenson says. As well, the more he is critized and called a ‘nut case’ the more I believe that both parties fear the power they would lose over the people with Paul in office.
As a Consistent Constitutionalist, least likely to be bought off or threatened away from his solid principles, Paul will continue to defend our Freedom and Liberty.

    Re: Steven’s Comment & Washington’s Income:
In 1955 my parents bought a home in Sunnyvale, CA which would much later become the silicon valley. Back in the day the big companies were…Lockeed. As per my dad when Lockeed took off, our govt was buying houses & paying huge wages for Lockeed employees. The result? Housing in the entire area skyrocketed to the point that many, including my parents, almost could not afford the property taxes. This kind of thing spawned Prop. 13 which wiped out the schools. “Back in the day” when kids came INTO CA they needed to play catch up. Now, when they come in they are sometimes 1-1.5 years ahead. How do I know? I had a choir student come into my choir. When he was told he would fail tha course if he didn’t rehearse or attend performances, his comment was “I don’t care, I only need 2 courses to graduate.” The student was 1/2 way through his SECOND YEAR of high school.
We need A REAL candidate who is consistant and that we can trust. My dad was a union man for over 35 years. He liked Reagan because of that quality. Reagan made no bones that he wasn’t pro union. The difference was…..HE SAID IT AND DIDN’T COVER IT UP.
I see this in Ron Paul. He has been saying the same ideas for years and has been very up front with them. There’s no hidden aganda.
    2012 RON PAUL!

  • http://www.personalliberty.com/conservative-politics/2011-was-a-rocky-year/?eiid= William L Collins

i’ll put it this way vote Obama and his addminastration and get all your rights and freedoms taken away from you OR vote for RON PAUL and start getting our rights and freedoms back because RON PAUL will only apoint people in his addminastration that will up hold the rights and freedoms of we the people of the U.S.A.no matter raice or creed so vote RON PAUL

  • http://Boblivingston Gottaplenty

A little late here,,, I distinctly remember how many times i applied for employment and being a Korean war vet I was set aside for a vietnam vet. They came before us. But ,hey Im not crying about it That is the way things go. I made out very well anyhow. Shure as hell didn’t join up with a bunch of whining occupiers.

    • Joe H.

      Gottaplenty,
Not disputing your post, but I remember when I got back, most all of the Korean vets were working already!! The VietNam vets were the ones that were labeled as “crazy vets”!!! ALL wars are hell, dude!!

  • Patriot Diva

To anyone who thinks Ron Paul is a nut case or worse, go to his website ronpaul 2012, and actually read where he stands on the issues. I did not seriouly consider voting for him in 2008, because sadly I sort of believed what the media was saying about him. I am a lot more saavy now. Anyone who is savaged by the media on both the right and the left now immediately gets my attention. The RINO’s hate him just as much the libs do. Think about that. I’ve never seen so many lies and distortions about a candidate in my life. He’s got my vote. He also needs our prayers from those of you who are believers in Christ. They will surely try to assasinate him, just like they did John F. Kennedy. Kennedy also wanted to end the fed or at least have it audited. John, Jr. wanted to open up the files on JFK’s assasination, and suddenly a skilled pilot’s plane goes down. The NWO elites will stop at NOTHING

    • DaveH

If they did assassinate Ron, they would be making the biggest mistake of their lives. Most people would realize why he was assassinated and he would become a martyr to Freedom. The smartest thing they could do is to continue pushing the Propaganda and hope after he’s gone there is nobody strong enough to replace him.

  • Geno

Vote for Ron Paul and our children have a future. Vote for anyone else and our children will end up as slaves, working to pay taxes and unable to afford a home. If we fail to get Ron Paul elected we will be the generation that lost the REPUBLIC our founders passed down to us.

Only Ron Paul can beat Obama. Obama has said the Constitution is obsolete and needs to be replaced (with the Communist manifesto).

What American really wants to throw away the Constitution and Declaration of Independence? Ron Paul will defeat Obama on that issue alone!

    RON PAUL
    2012

    • eddie47d

Obama doesn’t want to replace the Constitution with the communist manifesto so you lose ground with that jibberish. Would Paul be better on Constitutional issues, absolutely. Build up Ron Paul with facts not unproven fears about Obama. Ron Paul is not perfect but he is firm in his beliefs and we need a steady ship.

      • Geno

I appreciate your comment, but the fact is Obama is a communist. If you compare the 10 planks of the Communist Manifesto with our current government policies you will discover remarkable similarities. True, these government policies existed before Obama, but Obama has clearly stated that the U.S. Constitution needs to be replaced. Google Obama Comments about Constitution and Obama Connection with Communism and Google 10 Planks Compared with U.S. Government.

      • John Lilleburns ghost

Yes you are right the Obama has said that all land should be collectived and everyone should work on these centralized communal farms and businesses!
No! Wait a minute he has never said that. He’s not a communist You make your own arguments less valid by using terms that you obviously dont understand.
You may not like him or his policies I dont know him so cant comment on the man and I am no fan of his policies but try to keep up.

      • DaveH

Here’s one comment from the Donkey’s mouth:
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_xNyrzB0xI

  • http://yahoo scout

Why is the media so dead set against Ron Paul? The big boys with money want another “yes man”. They want someone they can control. They can’t and won’t dictate policy to Ron Paul. Ron, like me, is a contrarian. We need someone to oppose big government and we need them NOW. I’m behind Ron Paul all the way. If he’d been elected last time, Just think how much further down the road we’d be in re-taking America.

    • Realist

Agreed! Dr Paul is the onlychance we have to save this nation.
A vote for any of the other GOP candidate NWO puppets and well
lobbied go-fers, is a vote for Obama’s NWO.

Let us slowly awaken the nation!

      Ron Paul 2012!

    • John Lilleburns ghost

I like a lot about Ron Paul but his change of views on immigtation policy makes me uneasy. I believe him to be an honest man who has changed his opinion but by moving away from a libertarian agenda to a traditional right wing one makes me uneasy.

  • Bill Rice

I’ve enjoyed the comments of readers. Apparently more and more people “get it.” The “status quo” is what is ruining this country. For decades, policies (often unconstitutional) have increased the size of government, making people more dependent on same. Liberties are being eroded. It’s too easy to go to wars that have nothing to do with our real national security. Ron Paul alone has loudly and consistently spoken out against these trends – often all by himself. His life in politics is actually a “profile in political courage.” To change the status quo and restore America to what made it great in the first place, we must elect a leader like Ron Paul. The establishment is definitely afraid of Ron Paul and REAL change, thus all of the recent attacks. As others have posted, that the establishment of the left and the right is so virulently anti-Paul is yet another reason why free-thinking Americans should support him. This might be America’s last best chance to return to the “first principles” that can save our nation and make all of our futures brighter. We are at a tipping point. Let’s hope we as a country choose wisely on this referndum about what type of government we should have going forward.

  • Crystal

The pulse on the young people today, many of them, tells me that they are reacting to the mistakes of their parent’s generation….love of money, devalued relationships, lack of esteem for others outside of themselves, not living truth(hypocracy), lack of close relationship with the father of the family. If they are influenced too much by college professors that is a total reflection of the parent’s failure to raise the child at home. What a stark contrast they must see…home vs. A man of his word like Ron Paul and the relationship they see between he and Rand..RESPECT!!! Strong family….STRONG NATION!!!

  • Steven Jokinen

Mary you use the word “parasites” that is funny Thomas Jefferson used the same word.

I think myself that we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious

The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground. History, in general, only informs us what bad government is. A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor and bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government. Most bad government has grown out of too much government. The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. Were we directed from Washington when to sow and when to reap, we should soon want bread. The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. Thomas Jefferson 1776 Lets start the revolution !!!!

  • Steven Jokinen

Gayla Thanks So lets start waking up the law abiding conservative civilian’s of a free democratic society of what they want as well. Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. the revolution has started!!!!!

Glen Xx good job keep up the fact’s.

  • http://personalliberty.com frank

your site used to be a favorite of mine until you started backing this senile Ron paul .good riddance to you.i have to unsuscribe now!!!.

    • cawmun cents

      Late.

    • Geno

Frank is a typical example of a troll who hates freedom of speech. If someone says something he disagrees with he just quits the debate. He can’t stand the fires of truth so rather than offer intelligent discussion he just flees like a bat out of hell.

    • eddie47d

Stick around Frank and enjoy the fireworks. They get shot off everyday with some being brilliant and some real duds. Heck I get attacked and mauled all the time yet I just sling it right back. Now Frank tell us why you don’t like Ron Paul as compared to whom.

      • Joe H.

frank??? Frank??? HEY FRANK!!!! Guess eddie scared him off!!!

      • eddie47d

Proving yourself to be an idiot again Joe. He came across as a Republican who doesn’t like Ron Paul so it must of been you who scared him off. He could only take so much of you incessant insanity.

      • DaveH

        Seek help, Troll.

      • eddie47d

Stop playing with the idiot machine Dave because your mind is going fast.

      • Joe H.

Yes, DaveH, quit playing with eddie!!!!

  • Glen Xx

Riddle me this wall mart employee ( who probably got fired)

Bachman voted yes for the NDAA which gives us indefinate detention.

Ron PAUL vOTED no ! TO THIS abomination and affront to liberty.

    • Karolyn

One of a small minority who did vote NO.

      • Joe H.

        karolyn,
now what is this the definition of??? “The ability to keep ones head while all the others around them are losing theirs”! almost sounds like a definition of Ron Paul to me!!!

  • Gayle

Thank you Steven Jokinen, I feel exactly the same way. In the past RP was passed off as a nut job. Like you took a closer look and am now with RP. I feel bad because I did not look harder before. Have started listening to what is said and not said. One thing Bachmann said got me, “I will cut departments spending and the military, but reform farm subsidies”, reform is a loose word. Can go up or down and since she collects farm subsidies 1.5M a yr and Boehner collects 4.2M a year, makes me suspicious. Watch out for third party candidates. The regime is trying to form one now.

  • Ted Crawford

I’ve heard it said that people dying of thirst in the desert, believing the mirage to be real, will drink the sand. Ron Paul is just such a mirage! I profoundly hope that most Americans are wise enough to realize this and not drink the sand!

    • Pepper

I think you just ingested the sand….One man stands alone in the crowd. The “establishment” fears him, and the rest of the pack goes along with the establishment. So No, I think you are the one drinking the sand.

      • Ted Crawford

There is often a good reason one stands alone. Perhaps it’s simply they have a body odor. Perhaps they are dangerouse to ones personal safety! Ron Paul is the most dangerouse candidate, followed closely by Obama, currently in the field for our national safety!

      • cawmun cents

Lets see….Mexican drug cartels have lobbyists in our Nations capitol.Millions have come here, through our poorly policed border states, bringing crime, disease, and illicit substances, into our nation, practically unabated. We spend trillions of dollars until our grandchildrens grandchildren, have to pay for our abuse of financial accruity. We attempt to nation build in countries where 90% of the population are illiterate, because of religious indoctrination. We attempt to project power through a corrupt entity known as the United Nations, only to have that entity block nearly everything we ask it to do.There are millions being taught socialism in our institutions of academia, and applying for grants which never get paid off.The science of districting has made it so that career politicians can wrangle nearly everything they want to before being set out to pasture.50 million abortions, makes the genocide in this nation comparable with Chairman Mao in its debauchery.Mal-contents rule the streets and the ports.Police are killing folks and it goes the same for folks killing the police. Our prisons are so full of convicts that they nearly burst, and there is talk of letting the criminals out to commit more crime.Businesses are being ruled and regulated so much that they can no longer function correctly.Politicians are running amok, teying to create prosperity by controlling major sections of the economy, and failing miserably at it.The rights and freedoms which this nation was founded on are being taken away by those who wish to have power over you at every chance they can grasp.
These conditions are just the tip of the iceberg.
Yet you think that keeping the status quo is the right thing to do.
Think about the fact that all of the information you get is biased in one way or the other.Reflect on the fact that only one candidate is hated by both sides of the paradigm.
        That candidate is Dr. Paul.
Perhaps a few of his ideas seem radical to many.
But the media is attacking him from both sides.
That should tell you something, even if you are brainwashed.
        -CC.

      • Victoria

        Very well said, thank you.

      • Joe H.

        CC,
while I agree with you, and I am behind R. Paul 110%, I would like an answer to one question. When these drug addled azzwipes get so zoned out that they can’t take care of themselves because of a SELF INDUCED problem, who is going to take care of them and with whose money? When they are so burned out from hard drugs that they can’t even wipe their own azz, who is going to take care of them and with whose money??? Let’s face it, if the Gov taxes it enough to cover these costs, nothing is going to change. The ones that want and/or need it, are not going to be able to afford it and they will still go to robbing, rolling, killing to get the stuff. So if they make it cheap enough for ANYBODY to afford it, WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING TO COME FROM??? I don’t do drugs, I don’t drink, so why should MY tax money go to support them when they use drugs to the point they can’t support themselves???

      • cawmun cents

Seems to me to be an argument of one thing or another. If we have Otraumacare, then that will take care of them….meaning you and I the tax paying Americans. If they are in prison, doing time for drug violations, clogging up the courts and jails, then who is paying for it?Again, you and I the taxpaying Americans. If there is no Otraumacare and the gubment wants to deal with it,then again you and I the taxpaying Americans pay for it.
Even if the drug laws are given each state to its own,who will pay for it?You and I the taxpaying Americans. So you see there is a condition of paying for it.And it will likely be foisted on you and I the taxpaying Americans,no matter how you try to deny it.
        Welfare.
        Social Security.
        Medicare.
        Disability.
        Paperwork done in foreign languages.
        Mandatory Health Insurance.
All these things are paid for by you guessed it,you and I the taxpaying Americans. Not to mention that this again is only the tip of the iceberg.
Look I get it,you dont want to pay for someones drug habits.
But take a look around you pal.You already are.Its just that the drugs you are paying for are approved by the FDA,and delivered by the pharmaceutical companies. The illicit ones are paid for by you too.
Only their cost is magnified by a war which cannot be won,a victim which cannot be saved,an offender which cannot be rehabilitated,a system which is FUBAR(an acronym for {expletive deleted} up beyond recognition. All these things add up to someone paying for it.
You and I the taxpaying American. That isnt even taking into account that its the tip of the iceberg. You have people you have never seen, parking on your street, shooting assaulting, shouting, stealing, robbing,
And making carbon copies of themselves by having children.
Why on earth would you be worried about having to take care of some heroin addict? You already support these things daily by paying taxes.
Why not legalize them and keep the court system rolling,in a more conventional manner. When people harm others,or steal their stuff, jail them.Otherwise let them commit suicide by drugs.
Did you ever stop to think that you could weed(not a pun)some of the worst of Americans out that way?
It could possibly mean you may pay less taxes.I doubt it,but it could.
Until then…..may all your dreams be pleasant.
        Cheers.
        -CC.

      • DaveH

You have given us nothing but your personal and biased opinion, Ted. How about some real facts?

    • Carole H

Ted, I see it the opposite, all the others running including Obama are the mirages. Ron Paul is real. The others are the ones who are not what they appear to be. What you see is what you get with Ron Paul.

      • Ted Crawford

That alone is an adaquate deterent, Carol H

      • Joe H.

        Ted,
I suppose you think the flip flop romney will be any better?? Or the self centered Gingrich will be?? Or perhaps you follow the woman that supports areesting American citizens without probable cause, Bachmann?? Even with the little bit that I don’t agree with on Ron Paul, there is FAR MORE that I agree with in him than the others. I believe in our constitution and what is contained in it, not in the rest of them jumping on the war wagon when the urge strikes them!!! I have two daughters that are the FIRST generation in my family history that has NOT served this nation in a time of war. While they both would, I would like to see them get through life without the scars of battle. My father had sixteen brothers and sisters, and all of his brothers, including him, have served in battle for this country. I believe it is time to THIN for once before trying to destroy the youth of this country again!!

    • Geno

I think “Ted Crawford” is just a plant for the establishment. Here’s how you can recognize a troll: They say negative things about a person without offering any premises to support their arguments. They resemble the one-sided distortions presented by the MSM.

      • Karolyn

Why is it that anyone who disagrees with so many of you people has to be a paid troll?

      • Ted Crawford

        Geno
Anyone who regularly posts here will verify that I am an outspoken opponant to the current administration. I’m also aware of History, it was forced on me in school, a fact for which I’ll remain eternally grateful!
In the ’20′s there was a bellicose, belligerent nation making threats. Most countries fell into two groups, those who ignored them, believing them to be simple breggards, and those who attempted to appease them. England and America fell into the last group. Neville Chamberlain agreed to anything Hitler wanted, and Roosevelt was handcuffed by the likes of Charles Lindbergh and Joseph Kennedy! 50 Million peop[le died because of this appeasement mentality!
I’ll close with a thought from Douglas Adams “Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experiences of others, are also remarkable in their apparent disinclination to do so”

      • TML

But isn’t the other side of that coin a preemptive war policy, under the banner of nation security, or ‘to keep us safe’?

Wise man once said… those who would give up liberty for a little temporary safety, deserve neither, and will lose both.

Since you are so partial to history, I’ll close with a quote for you…

“And now, friends and countrymen, if the wise and learned philosophers of the elder world, the first observers of nutation and aberration, the discoverers of maddening ether and invisible planets, the inventors of Congreve rockets and Shrapnel shells, should find their hearts disposed to enquire what has America done for the benefit of mankind?

Let our answer be this: America, with the same voice which spoke herself into existence as a nation, proclaimed to mankind the inextinguishable rights of human nature, and the only lawful foundations of government. America, in the assembly of nations, since her admission among them, has invariably, though often fruitlessly, held forth to them the hand of honest friendship, of equal freedom, of generous reciprocity. She has uniformly spoken among them, though often to heedless and often to disdainful ears, the language of equal liberty, of equal justice, and of equal rights.

She has, in the lapse of nearly half a century, without a single exception, respected the independence of other nations while asserting and maintaining her own.

She has abstained from interference in the concerns of others, even when conflict has been for principles to which she clings, as to the last vital drop that visits the heart.

She has seen that probably for centuries to come, all the contests of that Aceldama the European world, will be contests of inveterate power, and emerging right. Wherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be.

But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.

She well knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication, in all the wars of interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy, and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standard of freedom.

The fundamental maxims of her policy would insensibly change from liberty to force…. She might become the dictatress of the world. She would be no longer the ruler of her own spirit….

      • JC

Ted your heart may be in the right place, but a cursory look at your sequencing of the events of WW2 and the players you named tells me that the “history that was forced on you” was innaccurate.
It wasn’t until the mid late 1930′s that Hitler’s NAZI’s began to actually be a threat to their neighbors. yes they were forming before then, but not nearly powerful enough to be a threat.
And the difference between the comparison you’re trying to make between America’s involvement in WW2 and Ron Paul’s policy of non-intervention is that America actually declared war on NAZI Germany.
Unlike any war since where we have simply been UN tools.
        Go Ron Paul…Go Constitution.

      • DaveH

Ted said “I’m also aware of History, it was forced on me in school, a fact for which I’ll remain eternally grateful!”
That wasn’t history, Ted, it was propaganda designed to get you to be a good little follower of an Empire Building, Crony Capitalist, Big Central Government.
If you want some real History on WWII go here:
        http://mises.org/books/pearl_harbor_greaves.pdf

Also pick up a copy of “The Real Lincoln” to get a good feel of how severely we’ve all been propagandized by our public schools.

  • Steven Jokinen

Look at what we have here Bachman’s campaign is in trouble with her ship sinking the captain is looking for a new ride, one that he thinks will keep him afloat all the way to the white house. So he picks none other than Ron Paul think about it, why not, he has the best record of anyone running and a clear message of what should be done. Ron Paul says, “We need to get rid of IRS and the income tax. We also need to reduce Government. He wants to get rid of entire agencies and departments, such as IRS, EPA, Education, Dept. of Interior, National Park Service, which were stolen from the states. That land should go back to the states that they are in. There are many such agencies and departments that need to go. Also, they need to fire about 1/3 of all the Government employs and to reduce all Government salaries by about 30% to bring them in line with the private sector. Did you know that in 2010 – 2011 inside the beltway of Washington has the highest income per person than anywhere in the USA? Why does anyone in government get paid so much? Is this serving the people? He wants to take a Trillion Dollars out of spending in his first year in office. I am not looking for a person that will balance the budget in ten years I am looking for a person that will stop the spending of our money, NOW.
I need a person that for 24 years has been saying the same thing the same message without change (please check his record). At first I thought Ron Paul was a nut, not the person for mainstream America then if not him who was? I carefully studied all the candidate and found there is only one that defends the constitution (which all who go to office take an oath to do so) but most all do not. I even read the Constitution to see if this was so and to my surprise we are way off base in our thinking and the way we handle our affairs. Ron Paul’s Liberal views after much consideration have got me to say that I am a libertarian as well and now for the first time in a long time I am proud to be an American that stands behind Ron Paul. Its what most of the law abiding conservative civilian’s of a free democratic society want as well. Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. You will not find that in Huntsman, Mitt, Grngrich or Bachman.

    • Greg

You also won’t hear them say we should legalize heroin either.

      • Mary

What is needed in this country is to copy the way the Chinese got rid of the Opium adiction. To big problems big solutions. We need a deep cleaning period.

      • Geno

So what? If they legalize heroine are you going to run out and buy some? It is not an important issue.

      • libertytrain

Heroines are almost always legal and well thought of. Heroin is another issue.

      • eddie47d

        Good catch libertytrain.

eddie, I’m a visual person and imaged this fine woman being sold… so had to address it…couldn’t help it. :)

the Constitution clearly says whatever powers aren’t given to the Federal govt are LEFT TO THE STATES. the Federal govt has CLEARLY overstepped their bounds by declaring the “Drug War”.

      • libertarian58

Greg, The false assumption is that if heroin is legalized, everyone will run out and buy some. I won’t, will you? If so, that says something about you. We waste billions fighting against a non-problem. Did prohibition work? It’s the same issue. We repealed that because of all the crime it spawned and guess what? We did NOT become a nation of drunks. Go figure.

      • DaveH

I’ve had two life-threatening confrontations in my life. Both were from Alcohol users. Alcohol kills 4 times as many people as illegal drugs. Yet we learned our lesson 70 years ago about the dangers of alcohol prohibition. Or did we?
Now, Mexico, Columbia, and others are suffering the results of the US Drug wars. They have enriched the worst segment of Society (the Drug Lords), and they’ve given Big Government an excuse to grow bigger and trample our rights to privacy and security in our own homes. I’m afraid now to defend my own home. Is it a gang of thugs outside breaking down my door, or is it a gang of Government thugs. In those split seconds, I have to decide whether to shoot or to quickly throw down my weapon before a crazed militarized gang of Government thugs takes me out in my own home. And I don’t even take aspirin. Yet, I’ve been put in this untenable situation by the Big Government that is supposedly protecting me.
The joke is on us. They are simply building their Power and Perks. The bigger they grow, the less we can do to stop them.
        http://www.cato.org/raidmap/

      • Average Joe

        Greg,

Where do you come up with this stuff?

Ron Paul has never, I repeat…NEVER… said that he wants to “legalize” any drug whatsoever.
What he stated (and correctly so), is that the Federal Government has no Constitutional reason to be involved in the regulation of drug laws…period……as it is an issue better suited to be handled at the State and local levels. He says that the Federal Government’s war on drugs is a failed policy and needs to be ended…and let the States make their own decisions in the matter of drugs.

Ron Paul / Andrew Naploitano 2012!

      • DaveH

        I second that nomination.

      • Karolyn

Recent stats I came across: 3.9 million drug addicts vs. 15.2 mil alcoholics in the USA (’02-’03). http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0880105.html
What is legal and causes more death, destruction and pain than anything else?????? ALCOHOL, the #1 drug in the world; and look at all the money it brings in. Imagine what legalizing drugs would bring in, besides the savings in getting rid of the DEA!!!

      • TML
      • DaveH

        Very good article, TML. Thanks.

      • DaveH

Greg says “You also won’t hear them say we should legalize heroin either”.
Of course they won’t, Greg. That’s their gravy train for Power and Perks, and how else can they excuse away their trampling of our citizens’ rights?
What would we do without the Drug Warriors terrorizing and killing innocent people?
What would we do without the Wealthy Drug Lords who got that way on the ridiculously high prices of drugs thanks to their illegality?
We have to keep those drugs illegal because they kill half as many people as do prescription drugs. And they kill 1/4 the number of people that alcoholic beverages do. Oh yeah, I forgot, they also aren’t taxed. Who’s going to pay for all those bureaucrats if they can’t raise revenue on drug taxes?

I thought that about Paul too. He is the one with real vision. I agree with him must of the time. We need his foreign policies to stop the bleeding of our arm forces.
Must of the time we are lazy and ignorants. I’m glad I got rid off the old dust. I undestand that before things get better they have to get worse first. To many irresponsible people, parasits. Corrupt government. To change bad habits it’s not going to be easy. We have to start from Zero. It’s going to be ugly but we allowed the politians to sell us out to the point of no return. Now there is no easy way out and we all know that. Ron Paul candidate for the republicans I have to see it to believe it.

    • cawmun cents

      The worlders and media/academia,fear Dr.Paul.
That is enough for me to cast a vote for him.
When he claimed that he wishes to audit the fed,he was already my candidate.Nobody else has stated that they wished to see the fed audited.Fox News wouldnt even ask the question,
Thats when I knew that Dr.Paul was the best choice. When a man is hated enough to be thrashed by both ends of the media spectrum,he has to be the best choice. When they have a person who claims to be a Christian, trying to use Fox News to bury Dr.Paul in a scandal that doesnt exist,I know he is the right choice. When you see the animosity that Dr.Paul is subjected to,by memebers of the media,Then you know he is the best choice.Perhaps some of his policies are not ones I agree with, still the very fact that the media tries to crush him is good enough for me.

      Cheers!-CC.

      • Carole H

I have to agree with you, Ron Paul scares the hell out of the Establishment, that is what makes him so attractive.

      • Bob

        Desperate times require desperate measures.

Ron Paul seems extreme only because America has drifted so far from her heritage and moorings.

If the man is such a “kook” how come his son came out so well. The problem is not Ron Paul being peculiar it is that America has gone so far to the left that Ron Paul seems weird, the problem is America not Ron Paul who is merely espousing traditional values.

If he does have a few weird ideas, he is running for President not Emperor and all ideas have to be tempered by both the Congress and Supreme Court. So I am not worried about any purported idiosyncracies, his main ideas of fiscal conservativism, responsibility and following the Constitution will be supported by many in Congress and we may have half a chance as a nation.

  • ddh

Who cares, for him its just a job, so whats it have to do with M.Bachmann or her campaign. Maybe he wasn’t bought off in that sense but the difference between the two candidates is far enough that it wasnt over values. Was there a raise involved, or promises made who knows.

  • former walmart person

Getting excited over Ron Paul is like being thrilled that you found a $10 bill in your home while the entire house is burning. Our eceonomy will collapse. Its a question of when, not if. With NDA almost in place, and a historical precedence for soldiers to just follow orders without question, we are in for a rough time. (afterall, the pot bellied elitists themselves can’t be bothered from their nightly cocktail parties to personally engage in the oppression themselves. I would at least give them credit if they led the stormtroopers on the battle field like a modern day Ghangis Kahn or something, but your average 21st century elitist hasn’t known a day of pain in their whole lives, and would probably cower in abject terror if ever found alone with a “useless eater”.) Thank you soldiers and policeman. Without you, tyranny isn’t possible. Looking forward to getting my head smashed in a FEMA camp. Happy New Year you effing pigs.

Yep, that pretty much explains it in a nutshell. Because if we focus on our own food sources, our own energy, and see that we can become self-efficient and buy our own goods etc… We won’t need their Targets, and Wal-Mart’s to nourish our drone like existence. We can be a great nation that creates and makes a contribution again to mankind other than contributing to its demise. I’ll answer your Foreign Policy question now.
If Iran or anyone nuked us we could whip them out period. If anyone tried to invade us we would fight till the end. Until that happens we have our own problems to resolve, black, white, yellow, purple we can and will be united again. It will happen! Ron Paul 2012, down with KING!!!!! We aren’t scared of them! • Capitalist at Birth

Ron Paul cannot win the general election, and write in votes are not counted in all states anyway.d A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Obama.

      • Greg

I’m not to sure about that. He’s pulling the young voters away from Obama. I’m not a Ron Paul fan, but then I’m not a fan of anyone running for President on either side.

so you’ll just vote for the lesser of 2 evils again? Romney, newt, etc. bought and paid for by the bankers all with NO military service and unlimited money!

        granny mae,
According to wiccipedia, Ron Paul served from 63 to 65 in the Air Force as a flight surgeon. From 65 to 68, he served in the air national guard. HE HAS EARNED HIS STRIPES!!!

      • Carole H

Capitalist, I would not write off Ron Paul, he might get the nomination and if he does, I would love to see him debate Obama, I bet he can beat him. Well….maybe that depends on who is hacking into the voting machines. Wish we could go back to the old way of voting.

      • Brogan

I believe that ron paul has a slim chance to be nominated much less elected.Mr. Paul has too many radical and extreme ideas.Of course nobody is perfect and each canidate has their own flaws. Ron Paul may be smart in domestic policy but certainly is not in foreign policy.

      • Average Joe

        Brogan,

“Paul has too many radical and extreme ideas.”

Actually, his ideas only “appear” that way to those folks who lack the ability to comprhend them. To rational, sane and most folks who are somewhat cognizant of the world around them, his views make perfect sense.

Ron Paul / Andrew Napolitano 2012!

      • Brogan

Average Joe, Ron Paul simply cannot beat obama. He is a isolationist, which in this current day in age does not work. As I stated before he has smart ideas on domestic policies, but foreign policies not at all.

      • TML

        “He is a isolationist”

He is non-interventionalist… not isolationist. There is a big difference.

“…which in this current day in age does not work. As I stated before he has smart ideas on domestic policies, but foreign policies not at all.”

So considering that all other GOP candidates promote continuous war with Muslim countries, and that Ron Paul does not, I must assume that you support such preemtive wars which is why you ignorantly write him off.

And you have the nerve to say that Ron Paul’s ideas are ‘radical’?
Is it not the radical idea to support continuous wars, nation building, and intervention of forgeign affairs, and police the world… all of which have direct impacts on the domestic problems, to which you admit he has smart ideas?

You should rethink your position critically so as not to be a hypocrite.

      • Average Joe

        Brogan,
“He is a isolationist, which in this current day in age does not work.”

Did you even bother to read what I posted? I basically told you that you aren’t bright enough to understand Ron Paul’s ideas….and you turn right around and post this drivel….proving my point. Look up the words: Isolationist and then the word Non-interventionist…..(take notes please, you need all of the help you can get)…I wouldn’t want you to spend the rest of your life in the state of confusion that you currently reside within.

You sound like someone “in the know.” So, you think Ron Paul can’t win the general election….please explain the reason for such brilliant political insight? Is it because the American people are too dumb to see through all of the MSM BS? Is it because the American people hate the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence? Is it because the American people like where our country is going and want more of the same?

If We the People love the Constitution and want life, liberty and the right to pursue their happiness without government interference then the people will elect Ron Paul.

        RON PAUL

Thank you Geno…well said. I’m standing with you. Frankly, i think a revolution is coming. Why? To much excess of everything in America, the lack of morality in people and the lack of personal responsibility…people helping people works in the most difficult times…people using people never works.

Shameful as it is to say, 10′s of millions of people taking up space in the USA are a drain on the planets resources…the day of reckoning is not far off.

Ron can and WILL win this election. People are waking up to what is really happening in American. I dare say if he doesn’t win, America is toast.

      • vic

“a vote for Ron Paul is a vote for obumma”? um, NO. a vote for perry/romney/gingrich/santorum/bachmann IS a vote for obumma. every single one of them wants to go to war w/ iran. not a single one of them has a viable budget plan. none of them abides by the Constitution. they are all the same, neo-cons. Ron Paul is the on true conservative. if Ron Paul doesn’t win the GOP nomination, YES i will write him in because if he doesn’t win, NOTHING will change anyway. this “vote for your party” thing is stupid. espescially when the GOP has been hijacked by neo-con war mongers who spend like an 18 yr old w/ their first credit card. the solution to this is if people vote for Ron Paul in the first place and don’t split the vote. but if not, i’m resigned to this country being destroyed if we get anyone but Ron Paul in office.

Capitalist at Birth, where do you people get this drivel? A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for not spending our sons and daughters lives in useless skirmishes around the globe; where we are not wanted in the first place, a vote for the American way of life, a vote for the Bill of Rights, and a vote for something that YOUR recent elected official have worked hard to eliminate, The Constitution of the United States.
Love it or leave it, and if you love it you will vote for the only man that will stand beside you and fight for what is right. RON PAUL.

      • DaveH

        Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah.
Crony Capitalist repeats his tired old mantra, and as usual with no evidence supplied to back up his contention.
It makes one wonder what he is so afraid of. It certainly isn’t an Obama win, because Ron Paul already polls well against Obama, and that is without the help of the MSM, who either dis him or ignore him. Imagine how it will be once more voters become familiar with his agenda.
It kind of makes me wonder if Crony Capitalist isn’t really on Obama’s side and trying to help some establishment Republican like Gingrich who won’t stand a chance against Obama once the Liberal Media starts exposing his Newt’s hypocrisy.

      • Joe H.

        DaveH,
CAB has made it VERY clear to me that he WANTS Abummer to win again! Short of that, he wants the closest thing to it to win!!! I wonder if it coulde be he is afraid to lose that disability he’s getting???

That is without a doubt the most unintelligent statement I have read. NO VOTE IS WASTED if it’s cast with intelligence and you believe in the candidate.

  • CP

I will say I have personal experience of what a bunch of college kids can do when aimed in the wrong direction. They cost us one war, and put a lot of veterans who at that time had no choice but to join up or run to Canada in a very bad light. In the early to mid seventies, being a Vietnam vet was worse than being a recently released felon. The ex-con was more apt to get a job than the vet unless the vet knew the people who were looking for employees personally, and even then he didn’t have a really great chance.

    • former walmart person

Cost us what war? No, those college kids SAVED us from that RETARDED war. Go look up the Gulf of Tonkin incident. Our own government STAGED that incident to get us into the war in Vietnam. Its declassifed. 911 may or may not have been an inside job, but the Gulf of Tonkin was an inside job. Yeah, that was a war worth fighting. Almost as completely stupid and retarded as World War I. Almost…

      • meteorlady

We didn’t enter that war to win – the politicians ran the war just like today.

    • former walmart person

I agree that Vietnam Vets, who were foricibly conscripted, were treated like absolute crap. People should have been mad at the generals and the politicans who got us into that stupid war, not at the people forcibly conscripted. That just proved how short sighted and just plain stupid people are. And parents talk about generation X…. Go to hell baby boomers. All the tranny in congress is from baby boomers. Also, let us not forget the 30s gangsters who killed each other over boos.

      • ddh

Ex walmart, who do you think were drafted in the sixties, the baby boomers you just “f’ed” off. I guess you believe in anarchy, and sorry to hear you just learned the world is a very imperfect place.

      • libertarian58

You were making a lot of sense, up to the point of blaming “boomers” for all our problems, they go back much farther than that. And, when all the boomers have retired and GEN X is in office, they will be blaming YOU for all their problems. . . Please read “The Creature From Jeckyl Island” when you get the chance.

      • granny mae

Boy you can take your ideas of who did what and who was to blame a put them where the sun don’t shine. It was decissions made by democratic presidents, (Kennedy and Johnson) that put us in that war. There was a draft and the boys didn’t have a choice as to whether to go or not. Some of your cowards like the hippies and Cascious Clay (Mohamad Ali) went to Canada or went to college like your famous president Clinton so they wouldn’t have to go to the war, but most of the boys went like they were ordered to, knowing they probably would never come home again. Then of course you have your traitors like Jane Fonda that made matters worse. The truth of the matter is that war was not fought like it should have been because we had never had to fight a gorilla war before and our military had no idea of what they were doing, so we got our Azz kicked. When my brother got home after two tours he was walking down the street in San Fransisco and a hippy spit on him, it was a while before he could spit again because my brother beat him to a bloody pulp and I’m proud that he did. That man is not afraid of anyone or anything and if some of you idiots were to spout off in frot of him today he would show you where the bear crapped in the buckwheat ! He didn’t want to go and has suffered much since he came home, not just from what he went through when he was over there but also from idiots like you that don’t know your fanny from a hole in the ground ! former walmart person, you are too damn young to know anything about that war, either that or you were one of the hippie defectors in either case you don’t have my respect !

      • Joe H.

        granny maer,
I am a vietnam vet. I have to disagree with you on Cassius Clay.(Muhammed Ali) At least he believed in his opinion to go to jail for them. It’s the “runners” that I have little to no respect for. The ran from duty and their fellow citizens to avoid service and then when Carter decreed “amnesty” on them came back like cowards with their tails tucked between their legs!

      • eddie47d

Ron Paul doesn’t like foreign intervention including Vietnam.I would say you are not a true Paul supporter since you favor one illegal war over another. Too much doublespeak from some of you.

    • Jimbo

For years I’ve been reading claims by Vietnam vets that they were treated poorly by the public after they returned from the war. I was draft age during the war (never called up), and remember in detail what went on. With the exception of a few traitors like Jane Fonda, the people who protested the war had nothing against any of the soldiers except the Lieutenant Calleys and others who committed crimes. I never saw any discrimination against Vietnam vets in employment and other issues. In fact, most were treated with respect and compassion. Not saying it didn’t happen in places, but it wasn’t the norm.

As for Ron Paul…..Newt Gingrich was recently heard saying that Iowa didn’t matter, that New Hampshire does, and “Ron Paul will never be the nominee”. What an ARROGANT man. Paul threatens the entrenched political parties because he has the courage to point out that decades of Federal policy has increased the gap between rich and poor, eroded Americans’ savings, emptied the treasury, and enslaved future generations. He opposes all these elective wars, and “nation building” we’ve gotten embroiled in, and wants a return to the days of respect for the Constitution. All one has to do to see the disastrous results of our foreign policy is look at the results of Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan. What did we get for a loss of thousands of American lives and trillions of dollars? Our soldiers did their job with honor and distinction. What needs to be asked is WHY we keep sending our finest to fight these foolish battles.

      • libertytrain

with respect to your comment that it wasn’t the norm. The norm from my window view was senseless verbal attacks on Vets and discrimination — I saw it, my own father worked to prevent it and worked with the returning Vets, and I’m betting there are many Vietnam Vets that will attest to same. I don’t know where you lived -

      • granny mae

        libertytrain,
What do you bet he was sitting behind a desk in some college somewhere. He sure wasn’t out amongst the real world. Those hippies they think were the ones to stop the war were the very ones that were doing the shouting of filthy things and doing the spitting ! The world sure looks different from behind school doors and when your running around smoking dope and throwing around flower power bull crap ! I saw the mess as it was going on and I too know who did what. Most of these people have no clue ! I agree with Ron Paul that we should not have gotten into most of these wars but there were some that we just have to give it back when the jerks hit us first. You don’t turn your back on a rattle snake, and if he strikes at you, you had better kill him or he will get you when your back is turned ! The thing is you don’t go and rebuild a country that has brought war to your door step after you have shot him up, you let him figure out how to do his own rebuilding. It will keep him busy thinking of how he shouldn’t strike you again. 9/11 was one thing but some of the others were not our problem. That is what happens when you let someone like the UN tell you that you have to do something about it ! Get rid of the UN they don’t like us anyway. Keep our troups in the bases they are already in and let the rest of the world fight their own battles for a while. We are such bleeding hearts in this country and we always feel as though we have to make everybody’s life better. NO WE DON’T ! Let them make their own life better and that even goes for some people right here at home !

      • libertytrain

I’m with you kiddo. And my dad was himself sitting behind a desk (a World War II vet) who made certain he was there to help Viet Nam Vets as they came back that served in that war – a war he was not fond of. At his funeral last month there were those who brought up what he did back in the day for those that came for his assistance – the Vietnam Vet –

      • eddie47d

I never had anyone say anything disparaging against me when I returned in full uniform. I think because the war was unpopular no one wanted to talk about it and the vets felt ignored. As if their sacrifice never happened. Many returning vets were outspoken against that war so that confused the public which lead to this huge silence in support. Drug problems were everywhere especially when vets found out they were lied to by government officials in how the Vietnam War started. It’s so sad that we still have officials making those same mistakes in our newer wars. The good outlook for Iraq veterans is the nations support and respect for them and the numerous stories in the news about them. That is everyday in Colorado. The bad things are the high suicide rates and being deceived by our leaders in why that war was started. We hear many stories about the bravery of WWII veterans but no one talks about how many turned to booze to solve their shell shock. Yet is was easier for them in the sense that it was a true mission accomplished.

      • Ed Dosh

Eddie47d I hope you are old enough to remember but it sure doesn’t sound like it. Vets coming home were kicked, slapped and spit on, when my son came home from Iraq he was approached by network news for an interview, he refused and told the reporter when you start reporting the truth and get respect back for the veterans of the Viet-Nam war come talk to me, until then I have nothing to say.

      • eddie47d

Never heard that from any Vietnam veteran myself. I do hear it from 3rd hand sources like yours who may be repeating something they heard.

      • Joe H.

        eddie,
I came back in 1971 and when I got off the plane in Cali, I was called a baby killer by a group of dirty hippies that looked like they slept 24/7 on the floors of the airport! Do NOT try to tell me it didn’t happen! You are a mindless FOOL!!!

      • libertytrain

Joe – I know it happened to you and to so many others I’ve spoke with over the years and I remember seeing people do it. I am so very sorry that so many were absolute idiots particularly the students or wannabe students in that time frame. I know, my house was on the next block over from a huge city campus – I saw it, I heard it, I did nothing. I was an idiot as well.

      • eddie47d

Why were we in that war Joe. It certainly wasn’t for Liberty or our Constitution so maybe you haven’t woken up yet and are the fool. You certainly don’t have a grip on Ron Paul’s message.

      • JeffH

eddie says “Why were we in that war Joe. It certainly wasn’t for Liberty or our Constitution so maybe you haven’t woken up yet and are the fool. You certainly don’t have a grip on Ron Paul’s message.”

What does this comment have to do with what Joe just said other than you will avoid addressing any challenge by anybody.

eddie, you’re not a fool, you’re much worse than that. Get help for your grandkids sake.

      • JeffH

Joe H & libertytrain, when my older brother returned from Viet Nam he changed into his civies to avoid any problems with the anti-war crowd. It became commonplace for vetrans to dress down because of the conflic here at home. As usual, Berkely & SF were at the forefront of the returning vet’s harrassment during that period.

      • libertytrain

I’ve talked with Viet Nam Vets all over this Country and they all have the same kind of stories, with the exception of Eddie.

      • DaveH

In fact, the Vietnam protests were what woke me up to the hypocrisy of Liberalism. It was quite common to hear them whining about the administration not allowing them to speak, and then for them to later shout down a speaker from the military. Their Freedom of Speech applied only to themselves.
I saw firsthand how the Propagandist Professors worked their trade during those years. One Professor said that Mentally Handicapped people tended to be very conservative because they were afraid of change. He quickly said that he didn’t mean to imply that Conservatives were mentally handicapped (sure he didn’t), but the seed was planted whether he meant to plant it or not. Liberals are a sly bunch of immoral people.

      • eddie47d

The only immoral people are hypocrites like you Dave who tell people to stay out of wars and then condemn those who protest against those wars. Those military speakers were encouraging those same illegal and immoral wars you rail against. You can’t have it both ways!

      • eddie47d

Jeff is the one who needs serious help. When it comes to war few of you are true Ron Paul supporters because you take both sides of the same issue. Which forces these wars to continue unabated.

      • Joe H.

        eddie,
you finally exposed yourself for what you are!!! NOBODY here is up in arms because they were protesting the war, you hypocrite!!! They are pissed off because they were protesting the Soldiers!! Of course, a mindless Abummer minion, like yourself wouldn’t be able to tell the difference!!!

      • Curtis Bostic

obviously you’re another bull thrower, you know the Ron Paul haters group.I was in the service in the 60s and when I got out no one would hire us and even the vfw didn’t recognize us.Also stay out of commentary if yo
        u’re that stupid!

      • WickedPickle

Jimbo.. Question: “WHY do we keep sending our finest to fight these foolish battles?”… Answer: “$$$$$$$”… J.J. Moneybags.

    • ernest

I was in that mess, it was lost because the politicians just like every war we fight.

      • Bud Tugly

similar experience… I was involved with gathering information. It’s amazing how the truth was ignored and we acted upon “information” generated in washington that had little to do with reality on the ground. The result was lots of dead and wounded on both sides, people who fought for what they believed in but were treated like pawns in some game played by the leaders. All they saw were lists of numbers and lines moving around on maps.

      • Bud Tugly

Dr. Paul will not support messing with other people’s countries where we don’t belong.

      • Joe H.

        Bud,
One of the biggest scum in RVN was Westy westmoreland!!! He used to take troop strength reports and cut them by 25 to 50% to make it look like the NVA and Cong were being decimated. The same thing was done with the enemy KIA reports to make it look like we were winning the war!!! Our own upper echelon were getting our men killed uselessly!!!

      • Bud Tugly

you are absolutely right… my point exactly

      • granny mae

My brother told of the millions and millions of dollars that Johnson alone made over there with his oil. Those boys knew every tanker that came in over there and who owned them. That was a war for the politicians !

      • granny mae

In the case of Viet Nam , Ron Paul would have been right ! Not in 9/11 ! We should have slaughtered everyone and then left but no we got to be so nice and try not to harm civilians and so on. If they would have wiped them out from the start there would have been a lot less life lost ! All this talk is giving me a very hateful day !
        Baah humbug !

      • Bud Tugly

ever see a pile of dead village children, Granny? They really deserved to be wiped out. After all these years I am still haunted.

      • DaveH

        Granny,
There is Never any excuse for killing innocent people on purpose.

      • Joe H.

        Bud,
The old ghosts seem to last the longest, don’t they?? I try not to get real exhausted, I usually have visitors in my sleep.

      • meteorlady

So you advocate going into a sovereign country and annihilating people simply because we were attacked by a known enemy? We should have stayed out of those countries and just operated in the shadows to get bin Laden and the rest of Al Qaeda. Lost of innocent people died because we had to flex our muscles and show strength, but nothing really a happened but a growth in Al Qaeda right? Oh wait – intelligence got bin Laden with the help of a small Seal team…. Meanwhile Halliburton and all the other war mongers made BILLIONS in war profits.

    • Karolyn

“college kids….lost us one war?” What? That war was lost before it got started. Another debacle that so many unnecessarily died for. That’s what comes of fighting other peoples’ fights.

      • libertytrain

the behavior at that point in time is an embarrassment in our history… as far as I’m concerned. And I was there, and I was young and I got carried into the stupidity as well. I just realized it sooner rather than later that we behaved like idiots.

      • Joe H.

        karolyn,
” that war was lost before it started” how do you figure? We won EVERY major battle of the war, Never lost one major advancement, and kicked ass whereever we went in that country. Even in Cambodia where nixon said we had no ground troops!!! That war was lost by public opinion and the damned politicians, damn sure NOT by our troops!!!

      • libertytrain

The loss of the war was begun as a campaign by the media – I believe it has been pinpointed down to beginning with a specific Life Magazine spread.

      • eddie47d

It was lost because we had no business being there. We were conquerors not liberators. Big difference and Ron Paul is right about all these military excursions.

      • libertytrain

whether we should have been there or not is not the question. Why we lost is, and it is and has been attributed to the media creating a new public opinion, and because of that our soldiers suffered, the country suffered. We all lost. You can choose to think what you like. Fairytales are fun to imagine sometimes and you’ve been wrapped in a few this week.

      • eddie47d

Then continue your dog and pony show on the issue of wars. Reap what you sow.

      • John Lilleburns ghost

It was the only war without censorship you mean. The only war where people were allowed to actually see the horror of it. Now we are back to embedded (censored) jornalists and empty BS crap about glorious heros when everyone is a brave warrior, no dead bodies and twisted words “collaterol damage”. Dont give the public the facts so they cant draw an opinion.

      • meteorlady

“Journalists” today write opinion pieces. They toe the line for their bosses. Unfortunately there are getting to be fewer and fewer media sources that are independent. Too many mergers and consolidations going on in the media outlets to be non-biased and that’s why the internet is important. You have to cover a lot of websites and do a lot of searching to get the truth anymore.

    • Ed Dosh

CP you are exactly right. If anyone would want to pay attention it is the foreign of Ron Paul that would have prevented that entire fiasco because it was never approved by congress, but then it was not a war it was a UN police action just as Korea was. A vote for Paul is a vote for reestablishing the America we all want back.

  • Andrea B

Well she had to say something…she lost one of her campaign people to the opposition.

I’m happy that you think she’s a ‘stand-up person.’ You should watch the video in which she supports Ron Paul.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRRr9hii3w8

    Ron Paul 2012

    • eddie47d

That video also shows CNN allowing Bachmann and Paul to speak their minds. During another debate Bachmann stood up to Paul and denounced his views on foreign affairs. The important thing to remember it is Republicans tearing down Republicans for political posturing not the mainstream media or the “CNN haters”. I like Ron Paul yet he has faults like all the candidates and the news media will report those idiosyncrasies like with any other candidate. It’s called reporting the news!

      • Joe H.

Ok, eddie, in your brilliance(?) name one candidate that has LESS faults than Ron Paul??? You can’t there isn’t one with less faults than him, while there ARE PLENTY that have MORE!!!

      • JeffH

Now, now Joe H, you just upset eddie’s applecart and of course you really didn’t expect anything more than name calling…did you?

      • eddie47d

Proving yourself to be a complete ass again Jeff? There was no name calling in my above comment or are you practicing your troll skills?

      • eddie47d

Your a fool troll Joe. I know several faults of Ron Paul but choose not to use them because I like the guy. Stop being a big dummy in your smirky remark. Because I’m not convinced I’ll vote for him so all it might take is some smartazz like you with a flip-pity flop mouth to keep me from doing so.

      • Joe H.

        eddie,
Why don’t you admit the truth! The only reason you support R. Paul is you think he has no chance. By this thought process, you support him so your hero Abummer can get re-elected!! Well, I got some news for you bubba!! R. Paul CAN and WILL win the election!!! I’m gonna laugh so hard at you when he does that it’ll take one whole thread to do so!!!

      • Enoch888

Uh oh, Eddie…you stepped in it now. You are surrounded by Paulbots & confessed to them that Paul is, indeed, just a mere mortal man, having fail-abilities like the rest of humanity. You also confessed he has faults LIKE EVERY OTHER CANDIDATE & mentioned how the media will report on those things the same they do with EVERY OTHER CANDIDATE.

No, no no, no, no! Paul’s Army will be quick to let you know of your error in that he is more than mere mortal man and that reporting (ya know, the same reporting done against all the others equally in GOP?) is biased against Paul because they fear him. The GOP fears him. Neocons fear him! Obama fears him! And the dems! Everyone fears him so there’s a conspiracy in the midst! I hear it rumored if you don a cap made out of tinfoil you might be able to deflect the expected onslaught. (or maybe even fit in!…your call!)

      • DaveH

Instead of personal attacks, emotional appeals, and non sequiturs about Paul’s supporters, could you tell us what you don’t like about his agenda, or his actual voting record?

      • Joe H.

        DaveH,
He can’t!! That would take conscious thought and being another mindless minion for Abummer, like eddie, that is not possible!!

      • meteorlady

Liberals are just too unintelligent to state facts, so they call names and hurl insults like grade school playground children. I have stopped even reading their comments for the most part, it’s not worth my time. There is usually a lot more interesting reading material out there that is truthful and intelligent.

  • 1minuteman

i am sorry but college kids are led by the hand by ultra liberal professors. i love this web site but i believe bachman and another woman said sorenson said the same thing to her more than once. i think bachman is a stand up person.

    • Donald

Seems she denied the preacher ever asked her to step out of the race. Her comments about the Paul campaign sounds like sour grapes.

      • vic

someone on her own campaign denied that Paul “bought” this guy’s endorsement and he was subsequently fired. the truth is, bachmann is a liar. she will say ANYTHING to get the GOP nomination. she is a fraud and is just a different kind of romney/gingrich/perry/santorum. she makes real christians cringe.

      • Dennis Wright

Freedom is about taking responsibility, not just in the sense of owning up to one’s mistakes and wrong doings, but in how we take care of each other. Perhaps it’s the fault of the Cato Institute, but I hear a lot of “not this for me” from liberatarians and not much “I will take up this for the good of others”. One tries to talk about a social contract with them and they act is if they heard curse words.

I say this is perhaps the fault of the Cato Institute because the Institute took a political belief in small communities meeting their own needs and perverted into a free fall society where the richest and the most powerful get to rule and do what they want while others work harder and have less. They presented the romantic notion that trust in the richest and most powerful is best for all due to their enlightened self interest.

We have seen over the history of this country and specifically in the last thirty years any enlightened self interest of these forces may have revolves around their remaining the rich and powerful. Does this not make some basic sense considering human nature? We are neither all good or all bad, but capable of each.

We have a social contract. The philosophy of liberatarianism as it stood before the Cato Institute perverted it, had a social contract as the core of it’s existence. Lately it has devolved into something like “I don’t want to pay taxes and the government can’t make me do it”. I admire Dr. Paul who openly steps away from the secondary proviso that we should meddle in the affairs of other countries, but find fault in his apparent inability to accept we need to take care of our own affairs.

We had deregulation and lax federal intervention for thirty years. It lead us where these policies always lead us, to economic chaos and instability. Dr. Paul offers us more of the same and I am afraid that will have disasterous effects on our economy.

      • Curtis Bostic

Wow do you have him wrong!Besides you write too long of a paragraph explaining why you can’t see a foot in front of your face!

      • granny mae

Well based on the things he has said himself in the debates, his policy would be to eliminate everything and forget about foreign countries that openly say they want to kill us cause they will go away if you ignore them and bring all the troops home from other countries to save us money and leave us without the ability to defend ourselves, when those people that don’t want really want to kill us attack us again, and we can just go hunting for a foot hold for our defence teams to work from ! Smart thinking Dr. Paul. Like I said he is one spooky dude at some things !

      • TML

You seem to not understand what Ron Paul is saying…

“his policy would be to eliminate everything”

“Everything”? No… just the Federal Reserve and some of the alphabet gangs such as the IRS and DOE

“forget about foreign countries that openly say they want to kill us cause they will go away if you ignore them”

No, he says that we should not go to war without declaring the war through the Congress. We shouldn’t make preemptive war or preventive war.

“bring all the troops home from other countries to save us money and leave us without the ability to defend ourselves”

Bringing our troops home will strengthen our nation defense, not leave us without the ability to defend ourselves. It is weak now, being spread across the globe seeking monster to destroy.

“when those people that don’t want really want to kill us attack us again, and we can just go hunting for a foot hold for our defence teams to work from !”

Given today’s technology in weaponry I don’t think that will be a big deal… but you first have to define your enemy through a Declaration of War… not undeclared endless wars on a ‘tactic’ or anyone who is deemed by the government to be a ‘terrorist’.

      • Ed Dosh

Dennis Wright, spoken like a true liberal democrat. You’ve heard of “he who has eyes but will not see and ears but will not hear”, don’t be a part of it. Pay attention and stop letting network news form your opinions. It has been decades since we have had an American like him and with what is in the balance, could be the last.

      • meteorlady

I think there is not a single liberal that is not selfish and mean spirited. They pat themselves on the back as they ask for more and more for the masses.

I go out and work in my business, make a profit and create jobs but hey – I’m selfish to want to do that. I should have a social conscience. Well here’s the deal… I pay good wages, give health care benefits, and take care of my employees safety. That is what I’m supposed to do if I have a social conscience.

People like you pervert things. Look at Model Cities (Detroit was the best example), War on Poverty (failed – there are 20% more people per capita in poverty today than when the bill was passed), amnesty for illegals – sure reward criminal activities, and all the Department of Education – education levels have been dropping for years since they federal government got involved during LBJ’s reign.

Liberals expect others to work to support their social experimentation and it never works. So when I close my doors and walk away from my business who will support your social programs? Who will be left to hire employees and provide work?

To put it another way, would you enable your child to grow up and live with you without working for the rest of their lives? Because that’s what you have done with your programs, enabled a ton of lazy people to sit around and collect the fruits of my labor while living on the government plantation.

I work hard for local charities and we all work for free. There is no salary and we help people help themselves. If they are not willing to take responsibility, they don’t get help. I have yet to see a liberal volunteer to build houses, mentor students or any of the jobs we do here.

      • granny mae

        Sorry vic,
        Not this Christian !

      • Joe H.

        granny mae,
do you remember what defeated Hitler??? He over extended his forces till they couldn’y re-supply them!!! The very people he was trying to destroy started to destroy their own provisions when defeatede, denying hitlers troops the ability to use them, thus stranding them! Rommel was a brilliant tank commander, but the inability to re-fuel in the desert defeated him!!! Do you want to see the same thing happen to our troops? Ron Paul knows where he speaks from! Neither romney nor gingrich have served a day in their life!!!

      • granny mae

No she did not deny it. I watched the interview on TV where she said yes he had asked her to get out of the race. Who in the world does he thing he is to ask anyone to step out of the race? As for Ron Paul, he has some good ideas but his foreign policy ideas scare the bewaddens out of me ! Nope Ron Paul is not for me ! He can be one spooky dude sometimes !

      • TML

“As for Ron Paul, he has some good ideas but his foreign policy ideas scare the bewaddens out of me !

Don’t be so afraid, granny, this is the home of the brave… not the home of the fearful.

      • Ed Dosh

Granny Mae, can you quote Ron Paul’s foriegn policy? What I have heard him say is that he would support any wars approved by congress and none else. Now can you explain to me exactly what is so wrong with that?? Again network opinion.

      • Vigilant

“What I have heard him say is that he would support any wars approved by congress and none else. Now can you explain to me exactly what is so wrong with that?? Again network opinion.”

You would do well to research the last time Congress cut off funding for an undeclared war. Dems and Repubs have consistently supported presidents of both political persuasions in their military adventurism.

As recently as November 29th, “the U.S. Senate voted on an amendment to the Department of Defense authorization bill to formally end the war in Iraq, introduced by Sen. Rand Paul. It was defeated, 31-66.”

It takes more than one man to change the course we are on.

      • Vigilant

BT, that’s not “network opinion,” that’s fact.

      • Christin

        granny,

        Did you forget already?
George soros is ‘the spooky dude’… you know the billionaire dude who thinks he’s god and pulling all our strings.

      • meteorlady

So Granny – name one of our foreign policies that have endeared us to the rest of the world? Ron Paul doesn’t believe in empire building or propping up the weapons manufacturers that’s all. He believes in letting SOVEREIGN countries handle their own affairs.

Take Libya – do you actually know that we supported the Islamic Fighting Group – that’s a group we and Britain placed on the terrorist watch list about 5 years ago.

    • Andrea

BUT SHE VOTED TO EXTEND THE PATRIOT ACT……….! Who is she standing up for?? She acts like she read the Bill of Rights but she doesn’t stand up for it when it matters most. The country needs Ron Paul badly. Folks are just too silly to see it clearly because of all the gameplay. Good Luck America.

      • Enoch888

It’s more the ones supporting Paul that are silly. Did you check out his base? They have the violence, irrationality, radicalism,& general lunacy equivalent to Obamabots. They tend to be college know nothings, anarchists, mental patients, & anti Semitic. In 2008, my wife & supported Paul, until we went to a fund raiser. We definitely didn’t want to be associated w/such an unbalanced group. We didn’t belong there with a group of anarchists & rabble-rousing scrabblers. Wisdom teachers that like attracts like, the old birds of a feather. We walked away from Paul. Good move as it gave us time to educate ourselves to make a genuinely informed decision. Now we vet all candidates for every office so we don’t make that (almost) mistake again.

Paulbots are the OWS crowd just claiming to be true conservatives. If you have a differing opinion, they rile up in a second. Most swear they’re victims or feel picked upon. They’re quick to attack, slander, vilify, & some have even threatened the well being of others merely because Paul isn’t being supported. They’re extremely immature & hypocritical. They fully expect you to support Paul but if your guy wins, they won’t return said support. It never occurs to them that others might feel equally excited about their own candidate. Yet the supporters of all other candidates agree to support whoever is the nominee, even if it’s Paul, which the majority of us dislike. Don’t expect a Paulite to return the favor.

Paul groupies say if you support anyone but Paul, the MSM & establishment are telling you how to vote…all the while THEY are telling YOU HOW YOU MUST VOTE FOR PAUL. If you don’t vote for their “only hope” (a title once reserved for Christ alone) they will call you a ‘tool’, ‘stupid’, ‘silly’, ‘uninformed’, ‘unpatriotic’, etc, etc, etc.

And Paul vets have this tendency to announce to the world they are vets and therefore patriots & demean anyone who hasn’t served. The vets of other candidates (like myself) never feel the need to announce our title nor will you ever find us denigrating any civilian that has NOT served. We are mature & RATIONAL enough to understand that not every person is cut out to be a soldier (sailor, marine, airmen, whatever)but those civilians are just as patriotic as anyone else. And I got news for you – not every vet is a patriot. Consider John Kerry. Not every active duty serviceman is a patriot. Consider Pvt. numb-nuts who fed Intel to wiki-leaks, he couldn’t be more UN-patriotic!

I mean..c’mon! I saw this one comment where a self proclaimed vet threatened a commentator for saying something he didn’t like about Paul & literally warned him to never cross his path or he’d be hurt! Do you realize how much of this we see from Paul supporters?! Paul, like it or not, is just another politician. I’ve seen groupies in my day, but groupies of a politician??? Never seen the likes of that before Obama & Paul entered the scene. It’s WEIRD!(Now we see how cults take off)

Paulites claim they’re all about the constitution. Yet deny everyone their 1st amendment rights if your showing support for someone other than Paul or speaking about something you don’t like about Paul. They claim they’re tired of Washington insiders & want term limits yet support a guy who has been in congress for more than 3 decades.(of course they will sadly justify that obscene amount of time) They will also justify Paul’s earmarks but everyone else’s is criminal.

Paulitas, allow us our constitutional rights & freedom of choice without verbally or physically assaulting those you disagree with or would otherwise silence, if you can. Allow others the right to support who they believe is best. Allow others the freedom to dislike someones policy’s. Allow them the freedom to be a patriot on their terms, serving as they see fit, whether it is serving in their own way as a civilian, serving at home or in the Armed services.

With regard to Kent Sorenson I saw his interview answering the accusations from Mrs. Bachmann. His story was clear and coherent. In 2008 when he ran for the Iowa legislature the only Republicans who helped him were the Ron Paul people to whom he ascribed his success. The same thing happened again in 2010 when he ran for the Iowa Senate.

His brief biography was enlightening. Before he entered politics in 2008 he owned a janitorial business. It was therefore a shock to him to discover the extent to which politics has been compromised and how few people he met who were genuinely working for the benefit of the people. At least that was my impression of what he said. The people he felt were most honest were the Ron Paul people. The Iowa Republican Party establishment were not interested in helping him at all.

In 2011 Michele Bachmann contacted him to ask him to work with her campaign. He then called the Ron Paul office to find out if he was planning to run and to offer his services to them if he were. They told him that nothing had been decided so he went ahead and agreed to help Mrs. Bachmann because he got on well with her.

It is now the end of the caucus cycle and it is clear that Mrs. Bachmann will not win. Kent has kept in touch with the Ron Paul campaign because they are his friends and he feels most close to them of any Republican group in Iowa. Now that it appears that Ron Paul may win in Iowa he wanted to do all he could to help him get out the vote. That is the entire story so far as I understand it.

It has been established that he did not receive any monetary inducement to help Ron Paul given the supporting evidence from Wes Eno. Mrs. Bachmann has asserted that he did. She has also said that “hundreds of thousands of Ron Paul supporters” are now supporting her. This is clearly an exaggeration of stupendous proportions.

Her performance at the debate on December 15 when she claimed that the IAEA report confirmed that Iran was developing a nuclear weapon also suggests that she has a tendency to say things that are designed to support her position regardless of their accuracy. Therefore to conclude that she is now perhaps feeling desperate as her campaign for the nomination collapses and is resorting to saying things to prevent this happening is in my view not unreasonable.

I would have never chosen Michele Bachmann over Ron Paul, but in the past I had high admiration for her. That admiration has evaporated having witnessed her campaign behavior. I now believe that she is just another establishment Republican who has said sweet sounding things to get votes.

      • JeffH

DaveH, I agree. As you know, I was a bit of a Bachmann fan myself but I became disappointed with her over her support of the Patriot Act and her pro-war stance. Those two issues closed the door on Bachmann with me. Still, she’s still more conservative than Romney, Gingrich and Perry could ever be.

      • DaveH

Talk about fallacious, Enoch. I didn’t see one sentence in your comment stating why you did or didn’t support Ron Paul’s agenda. It was all based on the behavior of some of his supporters.
Go now, and vote for the pretty guy who tells you what you want to hear.

      • Elevenarrows

Enoch, what state do you live in??? Here in SC, a notably conservative state, Ron Paul supporters dominate at every political rally/event. They are mostly conservative Christians who would label themselves staunch supporters/defenders of the Constitution…you know, that little piece of paper our leaders are sworn to defend. Paul supporters clap loudly and whistle every now and then at events, but other than that, I have yet to see the whack jobs you described.

I find it laughable that you describe Ron Paul supporters (who you say you saw at one event)as violent, irrational, radical, lunatics that are anarchists, mental patients and anti-Semitic. I would have to say that ALL the Ron Paul supporters I’ve met are the exact opposite of those descriptions with the exception of “radical”. Webster defines “radical” as “going to the roots, going to the foundation or source of something”. You are right on in your assessment that WE, Ron Paul supporters, are radical. We believe in returning to the roots/foundation of what made America great: a respect for God, a humility towards others and FREEDOM as defined in the Constitution of the United States.

Since it is obvious, you do not agree with the Constitution or share these core values, you should perhaps consider making your home elsewhere. There are many other countries that hate the values most Americans hold dear. You might be more comfortable in one of those.

      • DaveH

And in those countries that hate Freedom, most likely it is their Leaders who hate Freedom, and the followers have been either heavily brainwashed, or they don’t have enough power to change their lot in life.

You sir are a liar. Ron Paul has had my vote for a long time. I have been to fund raisers and to meetings with him. He is well loved in his district and he is honest.

He gives back a portion of his operating budget every year
He has never voted for war
He believes in abolishing the Federal Reserve’s hold on our money supply
He believes in smaller and more accountable Federal Government
He does not participate in the congressional retirement or health care plans.
He has never changed his message

In 2000 he made a speech before the House called “A Republic If You Can Keep It”. It was riveting and prophetic. He is truly a brilliant mind and will represent the true American, the country we were and still can be again.

to say that you supported him and then go on like you did is just propaganda and I don’t believe you truly did any of that.

      • Betty Jo

It is cleary not true that people who support Ron Paul deny others free speech! Where did you get that? Not from Dr. Paul.
It is the liberal media who want to silence everyone and take over the internet. It is Obama that is doing that.

    • libertarian58

The young people I have talked to about RP are disavowing what their professors are telling them and are supporting Paul in spite of what they are “told”. They are seeing the writing on the wall and have a fresh interest in Liberty, exactly the opposite of what you are assuming.

    • Truthseeker

Yeah, she stood up FOR H.R.1540 ( National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 ). This legislation gives the president the full power and autority to arrest, and detain indefinately with out any reason, any American that he wishes. No court, no appeal, nothing. Ron Paul voted against this unconstitutional legislation. Why would anyone want to have this kind of immoral legislation made legal? Still like her now?

    • Daniel

Calling the allegation “ridiculous”, the Paul campaign also cited a statement by Wes Enos, Bachmann’s Iowa political director, also denying the bribery charge.

“I can say unequivocally that Kent Sorenson’s decision was, in no way financially motivated,” Enos said in his statement. “While I personally disagree with Kent’s decision, and plan to stay with Michele Bachmann because I truly believe in her, I cannot, in good conscience watch a good man like Kent Sorenson be attacked as a ‘sell-out.’”

Enos has now “quit” the campaign, Bachmann herself revealed in an interview with CNN today. It remains to be seen whether he too will join the Ron Paul campaign.
