Something To Celebrate

My favorite Christmas present. Since Christmas is still around the corner, I haven’t opened all of my gifts yet. But it will be hard to top the delight from one small package I received. It’s the 2012 Barack Obama Out Of Office Countdown calendar. And, yes, it is exactly what the name implies: a day-by-day countdown until the time a new President has been elected. The subtitle is “Yes, The End Is Near!” The list price is a measly $12.99. The message: priceless.

Another person who won’t be flying anywhere. Minnesota’s maverick former governor, Jesse Ventura, refuses to fly anywhere these days because of the Transportation Security Administration’s invasive airport inspections.  In fact, he sued the TSA for violating his 4th Amendment rights to privacy. The case was dismissed for lack of jurisdiction. Ventura hasn’t decided whether to appeal.

Who says Ron Paul can’t win? The Wall Street Journal, among others. In fact, “Why Ron Paul Can’t Win” was the title of a column last week by Journal political analyst Kimberley Strassel. It will be interesting to see if Republicans in Iowa agree with this neoconservative mouthpiece. I have a hunch a lot of folks think Representative Paul has a lot of the right ideas — even if he got only 89 seconds in a nationally televised debate to share them.

Another victim of the OWS protests. Even though those “jobless, clueless, soapless” protesters, as I called them last week, have been forced to vacate New York’s Zuccotti Park, the damage they caused continues. The latest casualty is Milk Street Cafe, a restaurant adjacent to the park. Barricades put up by the city, ostensibly for “protection,” are still blocking access to the cafe, even though the protesters are long gone. Mill Street’s closure will result in the layoff of 70 employees. It laid off 21 people in October because of slower business brought on by the protesters. I wonder if that bothers the “idealists” of OWS even a little bit. Somehow, I doubt it.

      Now who in hell would want THAT to happen? Even the Hillary is openly rejecting that proposition and for good reason.. She knows and realizes that her winning the nomination either to run or replace Obama and IF she wins, there will be no letting up of the general public accusing HER (a woman) of much more than their piling up on our present President.. It would be a major tactical error and not only does she realize this but so does her party.. and the GOP? Well, the GOP would definitely have a hay day.. Put H.Clinton out of your mind.. She won’t touch it until at least 2016 (if even then).

    You can keep that ( the countdown calendar )as a souvenir Chip to stare at in horror when the countdown is completed, because Obama will definitely be re-elected and the Republican muddlers have’nt a clue when it comes to picking a candidate. This is like the one team getting the victory by default and I,m afraid that you are going to be very disappointed, but hey, enjoy the Festive Season anyway and be blessed.

      keep on dreaming dude. Two years ago, we had a three time Demorat representative in our District….even the Republican (RINOS) biggies of the largest city in that District made TV ads. Our little candidate was a black constitutional school teacher and we were told that the Demorat could and would not be defeated….well, with the help of the tea parties across the District, we hit the streets and the shopping arenas and worked from home on our computers, and when the dust settled, guess who was the representative…it sure as hell was not the 3 term Demorat…our little “nobody” had beat him really badly. So, you keep on dreaming….Obama is going to be a one term president regardless of how dirty his politics are.

      Peter, you indeed live in la la land. obama is about to get slammed! I can’t wait for debates when whoever brings out fast & furious, solandrya, spending trillions and no one can account where most of it has gone. and without his teleprompter he’ll be stuttering all over the place. See ya obama you’re history and history will not be kind to him! Love it.

        Read the political connotations surrounding that ‘failed’ project.. When Obama okay’d this green project, the parts for it were expensive but not altogether unprofitable but just as the green light came on, China glutted the market with these parts which caused the investment to fail because the parts had already been acquired BEFORE the drop in prices which would have made them all lose profit on the market to keep up (similar to usps’ profit margin before rivals fed-x and ups came on the scene). No one could have anticipated that China would pull off such a ploy but THAT is what helped caused the bankruptcy.. Read up and realize there are other Countries jealous of our success and will at any time squelch our good intentions.. That’s why it’s crucial that we bring back American made products else other Presidents will suffer the same fates.
