Mom And Daughter Give Birth On Same Day

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill., Dec. 22 (UPI) — A 35-year-old Illinois woman said she and her 17-year-old daughter gave birth to infants at the same hospital about 6 hours apart.
Jessica Rotter, 35, said she was supporting her daughter, Briana Guerrero, 17, as the teenager was preparing to give birth Wednesday at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, but she had to be moved to an adjoining room when her own labor pains started, the Chicago Tribune reported Thursday.
“In 20 years of practicing, I’ve seen a lot,” said Dr. Alex Lipowich, who delivered both babies. “I’ve certainly had mothers and daughters pregnant at the same time or in the same year. But I have never delivered a mother and daughter combination on the same day, and I can’t believe that’s very common.”
Rotter, who has yet to name her infant son, gave birth about six hours earlier than Guerrero, who named her son Ayden.
