Savage Offers Gingrich $1 Million To Drop Out

Conservative radio talk show host Michael Savage has offered Republican Presidential primary hopeful Newt Gingrich $1 million to end his bid for the Presidency.

The offer, which Gingrich would have to agree to within 48 hours as of Tuesday, stems from a list of grievances Savage has with the candidate’s lack of a strong conservative leadership record.

A statement on Savage’s website reads: “The Republican Presidential field has come down to two candidates who have a real chance of getting the nomination: Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney. While it’s true that Romney is not as strong a conservative as many would like him to be, the most pressing issue before America today is defeating Barack Obama. And that is something Newt Gingrich cannot do.”

The radio host goes on to sight Gingrich’s failure to deliver his “Contract With America,” his global warming commercial with Nancy Pelosi, his immigration views, his financial gain through working for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, his divorces and his assertion that the GOP is guilty of “right-wing social engineering” all as reasons the candidate is unelectable.

Savage wraps up his list by saying that Gingrich is a “fat, old white man” who could not stand up to Obama in a televised debate no matter how he performed.

    Another political ploy. Savage offered the money, Newt will refuse. This is supposed to make Newt look like an “honest” person? Give me a break. This entire situation is a three-ring circus, complete with clowns. This fiasco would be hilarious, the only problem is that this is serious business and they are all acting like schoolkids.

      I laughed like heck at the guy that shook hands with Salamander Man and said” you are an embarrasment to the republican party. Why don’t you drop out before you make a fool of yourself?” It was on the news the other night!!! All newt could say was “I’m sorry you feel that way!”

    Ron Paul has been a consistent conservative for 30 years. If Ron Paul wins the presidency, you KNOW that he will end the wars. as opposed to Obama who extended the wars.

    Ron Paul consistently tells the truth.

    And Ron Paul garners more independent and democrat votes than any other GOP. Iowa poll shows Ron Paul 42-42 against Obama. Making Ron Paul the only GOP in Iowa capable of beating Obama. Ron Paul can win against Obama. Mitt Romney? Not so much..people don’t want 100 year long wars.

      I completely agree! Ron is the only candidate who is worth anything on this next ballot. Newt is an slimy little worm and Mitt is just meh, typical.

    How do you feel about Ron Paul?

      I think he is an honest man and has been TRUE BLUE to the constitution but he doesn’t appear to be Presidential to me. Just my opinion of course.

      In any event, my mind is not completely closed on Him but he will need to pick up the pace in the debates and demonstrate to me that he can defeat Obama. He picked up the pace a little in the last debate against Newt and I want to see more of it!

      A true leader must be able to take on the issues, HEAD ON, DIRECT and Unafraid. This is the core reason Newt is leading in the polls. Most people at this point clearly see the absence of leadership in Washington. The wet noodle days coupled with this progressive daycare mentality is coming to an end in America and it will require STRONG leadership to get this ship back on course.

      I currently support Newt because he has the ability to shred Obama in the debates, just not sure about RP. He seems to have difficulties at time communicating and that is a prerequisite to being a good effective Leader.

      Regardless if it is Newt, Romney or Paul, I will VOTE FOR THEM in the general election WITHOUT A DOUBT. The silly kid in the WH has got to go in 2012 or we are DONE as FREE Americans. i.e.; welcome to the new world order of progressive-foolish socialism.

    Some people might use this topic to imply that Savage is a card-carrying member of the idle rich. Even if he IS rich [how do we accurately understand rich?], I can’t look at him that way.
    Savage has his own talk radio program. That keeps him busy via planning in advance and staying current with what’s going on in the world, so he CAN’T be viewed as idle – let alone idle rich.
    I think he has some interesting views, and while he can be outspoken [whether SOME people like it or not], we DO have the 1st Amendment here. I’ve heard some things over the years that bordered on sheer insanity, but those comments are protected via the 1st Amendment. And those comments came from across the political spectrum.
    Will Newter take the money? NO, he won’t take the money. He knows that a mere $1 million can be had fast in Washington. There are friends. Some friends have friends. Groups have money. And their friends have money. And, as a last resort, one can ALWAYS become a frickin’ lobbyist.
    I think this is simply a way to show people that Newter wants to be a prez more than he wants easy, quick money. Even a utopian knows that Washington is a money funnel.
    LBJ got rich using that funnel. Elected slimeballs
    are getting rich right now [at OUR expense], and it still goes on and on, folks.
    Let Newter explain his position on the $1 million offer. It’s nothing that will cause Savage or Newter to lose any sleep. It’s politics, plain and simple.

      Interesting you should bring up Lyndon B. Johnson. I am currently reading a fascinating book called “LBJ: Mastermind of the JFK Assassination.” The author claims LBJ had 8 people killed in order to fulfill his childhood dream of being president. JFK did not want LBJ as VP, but was pressured by J. Edgar Hoover to choose LBJ or else Kennedy’s 32 affairs would be exposed. Soon after, we had the Bay of Pigs fiasco, and Kennedy would not provide sufficient air cover to have a successful mission, leaving 1,400 rebels to fight Castro’s army of 200,000. The CIA was furious and so was LBJ. They coordinated the parade route in Dallas on Nov.22,1963. Ten seconds before the 3 shots rang out, LBJ was seen ducking in his car, a couple of cars back from the presidential limo. LBJ fulfilled his dream.
