NYC Authorities Nab Would-Be Terrorist

The New York Police Department’s anti-terrorism unit arrested an alleged terrorist on Saturday. Police say he had planned to bomb police departments, post offices and returning U.S. soldiers near the city.

The suspect, 27-year-old Jose Pimentel, is described as an al-Qaida sympathizer who had a fascination with Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein and even referred to himself as Osama Hussein, according to Infowars.

Authorities said on Sunday that the Dominican Republic native was using his New York apartment as a factory for making bombs to use in attacks.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the suspect’s uncle, who shared the apartment, said that the young man had converted to Islam two years ago. Authorities said the suspect was inspired by the American-born al-Qaida preacher Anwar al-Awlaki, and had accelerated a plot to make bombs after al-Awlaki was killed in Yemen in September.

According to officials, Pimentel ran a blog, trueislam1.com, where he published articles discussing Islamic religious issues. The site contains sections dedicated to such things as defining what jihad means to Muslims and why it is superior to traditional war.

The terrorist plotter followed bomb-making instructions from Inspire Magazine, an al-Qaida propaganda outlet, authorities said.

    Anyone who is prepared to run around with a bomb attached to his/her body in order to blow up anyone or anything at all has to be indoctrinated and subsequently mentally disturbed. It seems that this is more prevalent amongst the Muslim nations for whatever reason. The reason is obviously because of an inbred hatred for those who do not share their views, which is absurdity itself. However, we must understand that we are as inhabitants of this planet totally and without exception, all absurd to some degree and our extinction would be a blessing so that the planet could get back on track again. With such hatred that we feel one to another, which grows worse by the minute, there seems to be no relief and we need to take a good long look at our behaviour and make amends.     I see Jose Pimentel as a classic non-white hater of what white America is doing in, and to, the Middle East. Our Israel-first policy in the Middle East had alienated the world from us. Israel loves it, and everytime we threaten to bring our troops home, Israel provokes another attack on themselves and we reassert our loyalty to Israel. We will be there till hell freezes over.

We have dangerous Militia members here in America who operate as individuals or in groups and some are openly Christian. There are dangers every where and there are good Christians and good Muslims. The evil ones in both groups aren’t doing anyone any favors especially when religion is on the line.

        eddie… I must admit I haven’t heard much about the militia and how they hate Americans. I always thought they banded together to fight domestic enemies. I never knew they were a threat to anyone except those who threaten them.

        It is the militias’ definition of “domestic enemies” that is the problem. These include African Americans, Muslim Americans, Latino Americans, American Jews, liberals, progressives. I don’t see any of these people as domestic enemies. They are all my neighbors and fellow citizens. The militia movement has a very different opinion of them.

        As far as I know there are militias here but there is one big difference between them and people like this character. The members of the militias are at least patriotic to OUR country – not to someone somewhere else. And to tell the truth, I’ve not seen any Christians attacking anyone anywhere for several years now (like all my life) because the others weren’t Christian or for the glory of God. The Muslims seem to do that all the time. There is a SLIGHT difference.

I was under the impression, having read some of your posts, that you had a better grasp of America’s history, with respect to it’s middle-east, murderous policies. I guess i was wrong.         You should check your info. The US hasn’t had a Mid-East policy for many years. They simply asked the oil companies to deal with the Mid_east when they wanted something. The oil companies set any policy there might have been.

        Our only Mid-East policy was to support Israel. And I have to admit, I believe that even the Jews have a right to live. They were given land that was controlled by the British. The Palestinians didn’t own it – they just lived there. And if our policy about ISrael is what is knotting your panties, you should read a little more about the history of how things were set up there.

    skyraider6, as to the reason Osama bin Laden went to his watery grave so quickly, that was a locally made decision, not one depending on headquarters approval. When the local commander can actually command, it seldom takes long for a decision to be made and acted on. I still haven’t figured out why it takes ten books and fifteen different web sites to figure out how to build a most effective bomb. A trip or two to the plumbing supply store, a trip to an automobile salvage yard, and a trip to your nearby shooting supply store will get more than enough supplies to take nearly anyone or thing out of commission.
