Actually that would make it more imperative since no one knows when or who would attacks so the information has to be given out quickly and to everyone. The World Trade Center collaspe only happened in NYC but did affect the whole nation. No one knew upfront how serious it was and some treated it like a regular news story and went about their business. I’m not sure if Americans could even handle a real crises.

thank you earl……. i AM scared…. and an old fart like you – or at least at the approval of the calendar! and i’ll admit again…. i am scared! i don’t want to be hauled off from my home and gardens and farm animals. i fear the goats would not know how to go to the feed room and get their corn! we are SO low-key….. we don’t even own a cel phone. i get to stay at home and grow food and care for animals and cut grass. we don’t go out to eat hardly ever!! i have done SO much canning this year – even purchased a pressure canner, learned how to use it and DID use it this past summer….. a LOT!!! got lots of cabbage, turnip and collard greens growin’ in the garden now. along with onions, garlic and brussel sprouts. yeah….. i’m scared. bought as much ammo as we could afford this year. wasn’t much. no money. takes all hubby makes to pay the bills, buy FOOD, feed and gas. no jobs here in the country – especially when we have OLD vehicles that cannot make it to a job that’s 30 miles away… yeah….. i’m scared. certainly couldn’t BUY another vehicle…. still no money. our only hope is that i live with my husband who grew up right on this property and knows the woods and swamp real well… hope we can get there before SHTF. again…. thanks for the shoulder….. i’m still scared. i’m just sayin’…….. god bless

I see your point and no one should be forced to have a vaccination or forced to relocate for their own good. If you refuse a vaccination and you die then that is your own fault. Now if there was a war somewhere and you had to be moved or be bombed to oblivion then I reckon I would move. Depends on various circumstances. Now if the government comes and tells me I have to move and they take my house without compensation then I would stay and fight for it or die.

I have a CB in the truck, and about seven others that I could mount in other vehicles in avout 5 minutes per. I also have my SW meter to match the antennas.

Better find a better primary source, CBs have about a one mile range, what with all the clutter on the airwaves, and when the SHTF it will be much worse. We have better service from the GMRS/FRS toys.

Actually with CNN, CNBC, and all the rest WHY do we need EAS?

As an example: During 911 EAS was not used. Yet America had eyeballs on screens moments after the first plane hit from the news choppers of the local TV stations. America watched the second plane hit live. We were also able to see GWB and the kids.

Please, explain to me how EAS can reach more people faster… It’s an extra expense for local community stations. They chalk it up to community service.

What we need is on each electronic device (stereo, DVD player, TV, even game boxes) is an input for a wire from a WX cube (cost about $10) so that no matter what you can get instant information for life saving information on things like like tornados. It could even be set to wake one up out of a deep sleep, or not if you don’t want any warning.

It’s cheap, reliable, and hugely more practical than what’s in place now and what’s going to be in place.

How can a person feel better when they took over the TV for 5 minutes saying there was an alert in the District of Columbia. They do these tests so often that nobody is going to pay attention when the danger is real.

While I agree that this is a frightening abuse of Federal power, I would advise caution is making a claim that Obama might declare Martial Law in order to not leave office. The Libs claimed that about G.W. and it didn’t happen. Speak to how this is an abuse of power, not about conspiracy theories of a President wanting to become a dictator. Folks tune that out.
