300 Dance To 'The Lion King' For Children

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Nov. 9 (UPI) — An estimated 300 University of North Florida students staged a flash mob to music from “The Lion King” as a tribute to Children’s Miracle Network families.
The students staged the dance Tuesday afternoon while Jacksonville families supported by the network, which raises money for 170 North American children’s hospitals, were visiting the campus, The (Jacksonville) Florida Times-Union reported Wednesday.
Andrew Coconato, the UNF student who masterminded the dance, said he came up with the idea after meeting a young boy who was covering from a gunshot wound to the head.
“It really made an impact on my life. I wanted to do something for children,” he said.
Coconato said he enlisted the help of members of UNF Dance Marathon, a non-profit student group that raised money for the Children’s Miracle Network in 2010 with a 17-hour dance marathon. The group is planning a similar event for March 2012.
