I like your explanation of Keynesian economics, however, there is nothing whatsoever that even suggests that O’Dumbo has the interest of the country or its people taken into consideration.

Before he was elected, he told us exactly what he was going to do. It’s just sad that maybe half the country wasn’t listening. He said he was going to “share the wealth”. He also said, “This is the greatest country in the world. We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America”. Now I’m not a genius, but if something is the greatest in the world, WHY do you want to transform it & transform it to WHAT exactly?
He is intentionally spending us into economic collapse of the current system. People ask why he’d want to do that? I’ve used this example on this site before, so for those who’ve read it, just ignore it, but for those who haven’t, here it is:

By bringing down the current infrastructure & by destroying the dollar & our economy, it lays the foundation for him to rebuild the nation “in his own image”. When people lose hope & become desperate, they’re easier to control. When people have nowhere to turn except to the government, then the government has control over the people (tyranny) instead of the people having control over the government (liberty).

That’s why people like Van Jones, Frances Fox Piven, Steven Lerner, union thugs & other radicals are promoting violent revolution & it has already begun with the OWS who are being played like a violin by the left. Our so-called leader hates this country in its current state & thinks the Constitution is no more than a worthless piece of paper; so, there is no way anyone can convince me that this is not intentional. His only agenda is power, greed & control on the path to the New World Order. This has been in the works for a long time!

I acknowledge that that may be the case. I’m not blind to the grocery prices and everything else that has doubled. Nor am I blind to Obama’s conspicuous adherence to the Cloward-Piven strategy.

But it’s still not a sure thing. Democrats always try to hand out money to the lower class, and in general, my argument is that Keynesian economics teaches that government spending is necessary to fill the gap between wages and consumption when wages exceed consumption. This alleged hoarding of wealth, known as savings, is believed in this school of thought to slow the wheels of economic growth. If each dollar doesn’t circulate, then each dollar cannot create productivity to the next link in the chain and promote the continuation of the economic cycle.
The Keynesian solution is government spending. Through deficit spending, money is flooded into the system, resulting in inflation. Inflation devalues the currency, which, in essence, puts “idle funds” to work; i.e. it steals our savings out from under us. If $1.00 would buy a pack of hot dogs, but you choose not to enrich the hot dog industry by spending on the consumption of hot dogs, then it is necessary for the government to print money through deficit spending. By doubling the money supply, they reduce the purchasing power of your $1.00 by half. So they have effectively put $.50 of your hoarded wealth to work in the economy by printing it out from under you.
But, they claim, it is for the common good.

So when we are dealing with a recession, which is to say when people stop spending, the Keynesian solution is for the government to deficit spend. If we aren’t going to spend our money (if we’re going to be wicked thrifts who hoard our wealth), then they need to inflate the currency to put that idle cash to work.

And that’s what he’s doing. There’s a reason the government is spending money like water. There are many economists who sincerely believe that method is going to work. Consequently, by spending it on infrastructure and other government jobs, the theory of the multiplier kicks in, which I previously discussed. So not only are they effectively inflating away your savings as you attempt to save for a rainy day, they are also creating further recession and are utterly blind to it.

So there’s ample reason to believe that he MIGHT be trying to do the right thing, but just doesn’t understand the natural laws of economics and is being advised by a Keynesian economist. All one has to do is listen to a liberal economist to understand. After one of the GOP debates, they had a democrat economist on the panel, and she disagreed with most of the candidates. She said, “We don’t need to cut spending. In fact, we saw some small success as the multiplier started to take effect. What we actually need right now is MORE spending.”

So believe me, die hard Keynesians absolutely believe this stuff. And they sincerely believe it is the solution to our recessionary woes.

The Bible passage is Mark 12:17 and Jesus did say to his disciples to look at the coinage and who’s face is on it which was Caesars.He then said to “render onto Caesar things which are Caesars and to God the things that are God’s”. The coinage belonged to Caesar and should be given back to Caesar. I suppose the percentage could be argued into infinity.

Read the context again, Eddie. Jesus was not talking to His disciples; he was responding to a trick question from his opponents, the Pharisees. They hoped he would either appear to be a toady for the occupying Roman forces, or commit a crime by advocating refusal to paying their taxes.

The issue at hand is the purpose as well as the amount of those taxes. Romans 13:1-7 makes it clear – God’s purpose for government is to terrorize the evil (thieves, murderers, vandals, etc.), and this is why we pay taxes and honor the authorities.

(BTW, while I have no wish for Mrs. Pelosi to remain in authority, while she is there, we should hold her in some honor, even if we detest her performance. Also, as a fellow American citizen, she is entitled to basic respect. After all, every voting American citizen has a portion of government authority, so we should treat each other like royalty. And we should remember that Christ gave His life for every human being, whether a tiny individual just conceived, or a crook occupying high office, so let us not revile with personal attacks. Nowhere are redistributing wealth or caring for the poor mentioned in Scripture as purposes of government. Those are respectively the function of the market-place, and individuals and churches. However, using government authority to oppress one group of people to favor another is strongly condemned, many times. Oppression is precisely what happens when the government imposes unconstitutional mandated purchases upon people who cannot afford the legal expense of fighting them (e. g., the health insurance requirement). Oppression is when government traps people into dependency on government by confiscating money they could otherwise have personally invested for retirement, as in Social Security and Medicare. Oppression is when graduated taxes are used to prevent people from accumulating wealth they could use to do good personally. Oppression is when state regulations require paying money for permits, registrations, certificates or licenses before you are allowed to earn money at your chosen profession, especially when you may not yet have the money to obtain state permission. In short, when a government goes beyond its proper focus and starts terrorizing the good, as we have with the administrative state system you so obviously favor, it becomes oppressive.

I think Jesus meant is: Pay ceasar’s taxes if required while you are in this world, and give your soul to God for the afterlife.

Patriot, God’s system was a political and economic system as well as a religious one. In the example I gave, the reference was to the point that the 11 tribes were required to give to the 12th. The 12th tribe, the Levites, were also the ruling tribe. They handled all the temple business, made judgments concerning the law and between individuals. They, for all intents and purposes, were the government in the biblical example.

The “tax” the people paid to the Levites was 10% from the firstfruits of their increase. This was enough to keep the “government” functioning properly. The rest they kept for themselves, and the law was enforced. They didn’t add new laws and legislation that forced hard working Jews with a good harvest year after year to pay more than 10% so that the priests could dole out more to the lazy tribes who didn’t tend their fields or flocks earnestly. They law of Moses provided for small provisions for the poor, like not picking every last ear of corn, or leaving some of the grapes of your vineyard for the poor. But it didn’t demand of anyone that they give more than 10%.

That’s all I was really trying to say. Charity is something else entirely, and it is a personal decision.

You miss the point. If we are to give to the government at all, then 10% is a reasonable and fair limit established by the bible as an amount to give to the ruling authorities. If the Levites hadn’t been assigned the temple duties, they would have gotten an inheritance. But because it was their job to see to the temple and the duties relating to God, their inheritance was 10% of the firstfruits of the labor of everyone else. See Numbers 18:21 – “And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.”

So just in case you don’t understand your bible well enough, the 10% tithe was to the Levites. The Christian church is under no such obligation. See 2 Corinthians 8:8, where Paul says concerning giving, “I speak not by commandment.” Paul also says to let every man give as he is able, as he has purposed in his heart (2 Cor. 9:7). And he says, “For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened.” (2 Cor. 8:13)

All I’m saying is that it’s not a religious or political thing, but an economic one. Whoever it is who’s in charge, 10% is enough. So get off the religious thing. I get your point, but that’s not what I’m saying, so your objections are misplaced.

Point one from the original post was that if Obama were receiving instruction from God on taxation, job creation, etc., 10% would be the limit of taxation, because the government God set up had a tithe (read “tax”) of 10%.

The video spoke in terms of Obama saying that “God” wanted this or that. So I’m not trying to throw religion into politics. Obama mentioned God. God instructed certain laws and principles. Therefore, if God were guiding Obama, such guidance would be according to those laws and principles.

If that didn’t clear up what I’m trying to say, then I really don’t know how else to explain it.

Here some enlightenment about the history of the Tithe:

The Tithe was a command given by God to the Children of Israel for the support of the Levite priests. There are no longer any Levite priests.

There is only one High Priest after the order of Melchizedek. His name is Jesus.

This command for the tithe was given under The Law. Jesus fulfilled the law with His death on the cross. We are now under Grace. You can not mix the Law with Grace. And this is where many people, churches and pastors (who should know better) make a mistake mixing law with grace.

Yes, Jesus spoke of the Tithe, but this was BEFORE He laid down His life for the sins of mankind. We are now under Grace. His death on the cross fulfilled the Law. Jesus said “It is finished.”

What we are to give now is called a Love Offering, or what God puts on your heart to give. Give it all if you want. We are to give it gladly and not as a burden. God doesn’t want it if you can’t give it with a glad heart. When you do give, He returns it back to you.

But make sure there are jobs. I wholeheartedly agree – there is dignity in any kind of work. But it is a sad story when a great company like Qualcomm has over 300 jobs open but no qualified, educated, able people can be found to fill them. We aren’t going to get those jobs filled until the teachers teach them, and if there aren’t teachers, then they won’t be taught. Likewise, Alabama eliminated its Hispanic labor force, and the replacements were 25 times less efficient and lasted only one day. Perhaps we should transfer our farmland to Mexico if we can’t farm it here. Anyone have any ideas?

Eddie – I have to disagree that fewer illegals are coming across the border. My cousin is a border patrol agent in Texas. Their charter from the administration is to “scare them back across the border”. That is so the monthly apprehension numbers are down. They have also slowed to a crawl immigration deportation hearings in recent months.

The truth is that I have a Masters in economics, live in a very nice neighborhood with a lot of Methodists, Catholics, Presbyterians, and Baptists. They are all wonderful people, don’t push their religion on others, and generally are there to help anyone that needs help in the community. They are law abiding and decent people.

I do own guns and I hunt so if there is ever a food shortage I will be able to take care of myself and family while the liberals in the cities will be sitting on the curb waiting for the federal government to come to their rescue. I also have a nice garden and grow veggies and herbs.

I work for Habitat building houses for those that want to help themselves. I also mentor at risk children in my community so they can get to college and better themselves. We do all this without government handouts and no one gets a salary for their help, which is how it should be. Liberals just believe that the money I work hard for should go to those that don’t want to work; like drug users and pushers, alcoholics, failed social programs, illegals with fake ID, and uneducated immigrants that churches import into this country and take straight to the entitlement offices.

I’ve listened and want to vomit every time, but then I realize he is only a 30 million dollar a year clown paid off by the 1% who sandbag the rest of us and essentially all of us on this blogsite. He is hilarious, I must agree, but has the mindset and intelligence of a warthog.
