Herman Cain's 'High-Tech Lynching'

November 4, 2011 by

Herman Cain's 'High-Tech Lynching'

Six months ago, a virtually unknown candidate for the Republican nomination for President predicted that he would be the victim of “the same high-tech lynching that [Clarence Thomas] went through” — once he became more popular with voters.

Congratulations, Herman Cain. That is exactly what has happened.

I knew very little about the former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza when I was asked to introduce him at a large conference in Las Vegas last July. And to be honest, neither did most of the audience. The overwhelming majority of the people who packed the ballroom that night were there to hear the speaker who would follow Cain: Kentucky’s newly elected freshman Senator, Rand Paul.

By the time he had finished his rousing, passionate address, though, Cain had made many new friends among the 2,000 or so people who heard him. In fact, many of them followed him to a private meeting upstairs, where he received several donations and pledges to help him reach more voters with his message.

Thanks to his magnetic personality, his unflagging energy and his novel policy proposals — including his 9-9-9 tax idea — Cain has climbed in the polls as rapidly as others have fallen. So it should come as no surprise that his prediction last May is also coming true. The smear campaigns have begun.

Just like with Thomas, the media dug up an unproven, decades-old allegation of sexual harassment. And virtually overnight, it was treated as the most important story of the month. CBS News led its evening broadcast with it. The New York Times put it on the front page the next morning — and announced that it was assigning seven reporters to track down the facts. (Read: Pass on every nasty accusation and unproven allegation they can find.)

Cain has denounced the accusations as being “totally false.” Many people who worked with him at the National Restaurant Association, which he led when the rumored harassment took place, have leapt to his defense. But no matter. The smear artists of the national press think they have found a nice juicy bone to gnaw on. And you’d better believe they are going to do everything in their power to chew it — and Cain’s aspirations — to pieces.

None of this should come as a surprise to Cain. After all, here is the rest of the quote that I used at the beginning of today’s column: “I’m ready for the same high-tech lynching that [Clarence Thomas] went through – for the good of this country.”

Of course, if any white conservative comes to Cain’s defense, it will just be more proof to those on the left that we are racists.

Think I’m kidding? Listen to what Karen Finney, a former spokesperson for the Democratic National Committee, said on MSNBC last week:

“One of the things about Herman Cain is, I think that he makes that white Republican base of the party feel okay, feel like they are not racist because they can like this guy. I think he is giving that base a free pass. And I think they like him because they think he’s a black man who knows his place.”

Knows his place? Cain thinks his “place” is in the White House! How’s that for being “uppity?”

In the twisted logic that passes for thinking by the left in this country, it simply isn’t possible to be a black and a conservative. These liberal do-gooders actually believe that every minority in America is beholden to them. They view any black who has the temerity to be a conservative as a traitor and a turncoat. If they can’t convert black conservatives or frighten them into silence, then they will try to destroy them.

The worst example of this in my lifetime was the campaign to destroy Thomas’ reputation and aspirations. I had seen nothing like it since the communists and their allies set out to ruin Senator Joe McCarthy. Unhappily for our country, they succeeded with McCarthy. Happily for us, Thomas stood up to the worst they could throw at him and emerged victorious. Thank goodness we have someone of his rock-solid character, powerful intellect and unwavering adherence to the Constitution on the Supreme Court. I wish we had half a dozen more like him… of whatever color.

Many on the loony left honestly believe that if white conservatives don’t like the policies of Barack Obama, it means we are racists. And if we’d much rather see Cain in the White House, that really proves we’re bigots.

Don’t look for any logic in this rationale. There isn’t any. The left loves to rig the debate. I can’t tell you how many variation of the “you’re a racist” argument I heard before, during and after the 2008 Presidential contest. No matter how calmly we presented our objections to some new socialist scheme from Obama and his “community organizer” buddies, you knew there would be some liberal somewhere who would denounce us as “racists.”

This well-worn slander worked for a while. But today, almost everybody is fed up with Obama’s failed policies and arrogant posturings. The few remaining exceptions are students, intellectuals, Hollywood elitists and union members — or, as someone remarked about the Occupy Wall Street protestors, the homeless, the jobless and the clueless.

And then along comes Cain, the fast-food entrepreneur with a skin that is several shades darker than the current occupant of the White House. His rise in Republican polls is driving many on the left absolutely crazy. They simply can’t believe that an intelligent, successful black in America can be a conservative. And when they find one that is, their fury knows no limits.

So their only recourse is to do what Cain himself called a “high-tech lynching.”

I hope Cain is strong enough to withstand all of the lies, smears and nasty allegations the left and their allies in the media throw at him. I suspect he is.

I also suspect that many Americans are sick and tired of such mudslinging — even when (or especially when) the perpetrators are the self-appointed guardians of the public good on network TV and the national press.

Please do your part to expose their lies. Your country will thank you for it.

Until next time, keep some powder dry.

My entire family was staunchly in the democratic fold..Then came the liberals who highjacked the party and turned it into the elitist, communist leaning thing it is today. Most of my family are now independents (a few misguided souls remain democrats). The things these people say and do are quite anti-american.We can only hope that Mr.Cain has the stuff to stand up to this digraceful bunch of hippocrits.

How could anyone support this man? Why would you put someone who has no understanding of economics in the White House while our economy is failing and our dollar is about to collapse?

    http://www.tomwoods.com/blog/one-week-before-collapse-cain-says-economy-great/

    http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/politics/9375-tea-party-presidential-election-primer-paul-v-cain-on-economics

Herman Cain thought the economy was fine one week before the collapse. Even the media was warning Americans, yet Cain stood up against all logic on this.

Herman Cain thought the Fed was transparent and didn’t need an audit. He used to work for the Fed. Then shortly after an audit reveals that there were over 16 trillion (yes trillion) in secret unreported bailouts. Much of which went to foreign countries.

Only a fool would know these things and still support Herman Cain at a time like this.

It was even worse in the late 1900th and early 20th century in this country and even any other country.

  • Johnny Galt

This is a non-issue. The important issue as to why you don’t want to support this man is that he is a world elitist who served on the board of the privately owned Federal Reserve. If you vote for him, you are voting in favor of more of the same. More Taxes, less freedom, more regulation, less liberty, and more WARS. He is no different than Obama. The only choice in the next election is Dr. Ron Paul, a long time Congressman from Texas. He is NOT an establishment politician, but he is, a seldom used term today, a Statesman. Also he is known as “Dr. NO” by D.C. lobbyists, because he does not give in to their bribes, unlike everyone else in Congress. He has never voted for a tax increase, and wants to end the IRS and the income tax. He has a grass root support unheard of today, and truly has your best interest at heart.

Support Congressman Ron Paul in the primaries coming up in your state. To learn more about him, visit: http://www.RonPaul2012.com

When Cain first began to run for office, I heard several people say he was bad because he worked for the fed. I thought that if he had worked for the fed and wanted to work to abolish it, then he would be perfect for the job. I have now seen where he stands. He calls people who want to audit the Fed, “ignorant”. He then lies and says he didn’t say it, even though it is on tape and millions have seen it. He has promoted Greenspan who thinks that the income tax is useful only for controlling people. If the government needs money, they can just print it (which causes high inflation which is a tax on all americans). If this is what Cain believes, he is actually one of the worst candidates.

      • Patty

He never called them ignorant. Someone else said he called them ignorant and took what he said out of context. …he did say those who want to audit the Federal Reserve “don’t know enough about it.” That is a far cry from calling someone ignorant. Political posturing on Ron Paul’s side. I still like them both, but I think Ron Paul has polorized himself from the mainstream. He is too truthful, and sorry to say, you won’t win the election that way. I would much rather see him (Paul) behind the scenes where he could accomplish a lot more.

      • pa

aren’t you saying the same thing? ignorant is not knowing enough about something.

      • Patty

By definition, yes. But he did not call them ignorant. That is a total misquote. When Paul was saying that, he was putting it as a quote.

      • Patty

HERMAN CAIN HAS MY VOTE.I DON’T WANT A CONGRESSMAN OR A SENATOR BECAUSE YOU WOULD HAVE THE SAME OLD GOVERNMENT.AND MORE TAXES AND MORE OF THE SAME.I THINK CAIN WOULD BE THE BEST PERSON TO CREATE JOBS WITH OUT GIVING MONEY LIKE THE DEMOCRATS SPEND ALL THIS MONEY AND NO JOBS WHERE DID THE MONEY GO.

    • http://www.r3voluti0n.com/ Jason

      Your CAPS LOCK is broken.

Ron Paul is a congressman and he ALWAYS votes against taxes. He always votes in favor of the constitution. He always votes for less government. He always votes against spending. He always votes for liberty and less government.

Have you been following this election at all? Herman Cain is NOT the liberty, less taxes, less government, less spending candidate. That is Ron Paul.

      • Vic Bailey

Jason, they don’t read the truth about Ron Paul because they would rather vote for someone that can blame so they can’t blame themselves for being SO STUPID! Just like the last time the voted someone into office that we STILL don’t know anything about him! Other than he is Gay, A Liar, A Kenyan Citizen, A Musulm, A Socialist, A Narcissist and he has the most corrupt Puppet Master Soros in charge! So they don’t want to admit that they SCREWED UP. Semper Fi.

    • Lost in Paradise

Cain cannot create jobs! No Way. Please do not be so DULL. The only thing that will get our jobs back is about 50% less government. Elect Ron Paul, and things will improve almost immediatly. Paul will not actually create jobs, but he will create a mfg friendly environment, by elimiating much of the government agencies that are really responsible for job loss.

Personally I think most Americans are stupid beyond belief, in thinking a president can actually create jobs.

      • DaveH

        Good comment, Lost.

  • Al Hill

If you want a candidate you can believe in, back Ron Paul.
In the debates and all the media nonsense, Dr. Paul has not been accused of anything immoral or fraudulent. That’s because he is morally above reproach and tells the truth. On top of that, he has proposed a specific plan for starting to straighten out this country. It would be painful but if the status quo isn’t changed drastically, you will see another 10 or 20 years of government destruction of this country.
Compare Ron Paul’s specifics to the rest of the Republican candidates and the incompetent president we have now. They are all bloviation and obfuscation.
How about a president who backs what he says with what he does.
    That would be RON PAUL!

    • SCConservative

It’s simple. No one has bothered to attack Ron Paul because he has no chance of winning! Why waste your time on a non-issue? Herman Cain is a true conservative with the wit, character, and charisma to win the election, and it scares the heck out of the media. He may not be perfect (no one is), but I believe he is uniquely qualified to save our country from near-certain destruction. God has never chosen perfect leaders to implement his plans, but he always chooses the right ones. I believe that Mr. Cain is the right leader, and he couldn’t have come at a more important time in our history.

      • bob wire

We will just have to forever disagree.

It’s good we live in a nation where we can.

      • DaveH

It grates on me to no end how the Right-Wingers have co-opted the “Conservative” label. Cain is a Big Government advocate who pretends otherwise, but all we need do is read his issues page to see that he thinks we don’t have enough National Security. We don’t have enough? Holy Cow, can it be any more stifling than it already is?

A True Conservative doesn’t advocate Government meddling in our Marketplace, in the World, or in our Personal Choices.

I cushioned Cain never to trust Republicans and TEA Partiers – he refused to listen to me. They have now turned against him. In fact if you’re white woman, Black, racial minority, Catholic, government employee or worker in private sector, please avoid patronizing with Republicans. They want your money and thoughts – nothing in return. That’s what happened in Wisconsin. TEA Partiers “put syrup” on their mouths and voted Republican. See what happened. Republicans turned against the voters. Now they are crying: “we did not know Republicans were that bad”. But I had told them before the election what republicans think of others – nothing. We have chance to vote them out in November 2012. Cain also should think about changing parties to be democrat. Otherwise his political and personal life is gone.

    • pilot

I happen to know Wisconsin a little! I can only say what kind of glasses are you wearing,– Ray Charles’s favorites?? First of all how are you going to pay for all that “free stuff”, very high retirement pensions and other “government gifts” asscociated??– The same way current admistration is, — by spending a few bilion, (or trillion) more from an “empty bank” account?? Of course I guess they could raise taxes on exorbanent retirement funds, and Raise taxes on homes over -say $300,000!! I know my place with almost 5 acres, and a 100 year old house that has been in family since the 30s – is only worth about $85,000,- but it is taxed at $98,000, and still costs me around $1,800 in property tax! That is because nearest town over 10K popupltion is 11 miles away, – over 25,000 over 30 miles away,- and over 50,000,- 50 miles away! So we get by cheap by living on the fringe of civilization! That will all have to be taxed to the “ears” to pull what you wish off! And then you will “get yours”, and we will “lose ours”,– wonder why some object! With the money we made farming, we couldn’t afford a union to protect us! Oh well it will all wash out in the depression that is coming anyway! Because we can’t “spend our way out” of that when “the money is long past gone”!

      • Patty

He plans to pay for it with other people’s money, of course!

    • Patty

You “cushioned” Cain??? Isn’t that a form of sexual harassment? I would rather vote you off the island of America.

      • http://deleted Claire

        I think he meant “cautioned.”

      • Patty

Yes Claire, I know. I was pointing out how sensitive these women are at yelling harassment at the drop of a word.

      • Patty

Frankly, politics has a way of bringing out our nation’s concentrated stupidity. Some of you are purely “spooky.” Some mean well, but you don’t know how to express yourself.
If I was in trouble over a traffic citation, I’d gladly pay the fine and get my posterior out of the
building. Our nation is a country in which the predators are in control of the hen house, the hens are scheming with the predators, a new herd of predators is entering the back of the hen house to torch the place and the rest just don’t get it.
We’re in deep stuff. Our “educated” semi-elite think they’re controlling the predators, and the puppet masters still telling us what we can and can’t THINK.
If we don’t have an engineered civil war on our hands before I die, it will be a fluke. America, you might as well go into defense mode, because you can’t handle offense. This game is rigged, and you can’t see it. I’m so glad I’m an adult, because America’s children will suffer and pay the price for our faults.

    • Patty

You don’t have any kids that you worry about thier future?

  • Whatever

    Mr. Cain lynched himself.

    • http://deleted Claire

They all do. Eventually. Truth comes out sooner or later.

  • Kookie

I don’t believe Cain is the right man for the White House and to put our country in his hands. Yes, he is a successful man, but not in the experience of politics for running the country. This could be another Obnama who doesn’t know what he is doing. And also lying about his past before admitting it after being caught.

    • AnnaS

You are absolutely wrong about Obama. Obama knows very well what he is doing: destroying Christians, because they represent personal responsibility; destroying small businesses owners, because they will never accept socialism; increasing unemployment, because more people will depend on government’s leftovers; increasing government employment, because government clerks prefer socialism; destroying Americans as you knew it, because, no matter where he was born, he grew up in the family where true American values were always hated.
Please don’t compare Cain with Obama just because they are both black.

      • eddie47d

Kookie didn’t mention their blackness only their integrity.

      • Patty

Exactly the point. It is the only thing they have in common. Only Cain is an American Black and Nobama is a Kenyan Black.

      • http://deleted Claire

Black? Green? Purple? I could care less. All I know is that I would never vote for Cain. Ron Paul? Yes.

      • Patty

I only wish. Every time I try to talk him up, people think he is crazy. I know it is wrong. We have until the primaries to change peoples minds. Vote your primary.

    • Morduin00

      Politics=backstabbing

You do realize that there is always politics going on in every organization. Even more so at the top of every organization. Even the military is fraught with politics. So Mr. Cain does know politics.

However, unlike other politicians, maybe he refuses to play most of the political games and prefers straightforward interaction.

You can see during the debates that Mr. Cain does know how to play the political game. How and when he chooses to use that tool is what makes him the man that he is.

  • Alan Spik

I hope that comparing Cain to McCarthy is unfair. The communist witch hunt was a farce and unamerican. Although I would never vote communist I served so that every American could voice whatever stupid opinion they held. An attempt by any person or party to restrain speech is an attack on the constitution.

    • Suzanne

Herman Cain keep up the good work. I am so tired of the left acting like immature people. I am so tired of all this political correctness. Debate the important things that are necessary to get the US back as a christian nation.

      • m

All you white women been keep falling this black man.

      • Patty

        WTF – public schooling, right?

      • Anthony

Yes I can not wait to start paying 20% sales tax here in Tennessee. Plus 3000 more a year in income tax! MAN WANT THIS BE GREAT!!!!

      • Patty

You pay 11% sales tax in TN? When I checked it said 7%, which I thought was high for TN. But it is what it is. The good thing about it is that you wouldn’t have to pay on used items. Hello Craigs List!

      • Patty

Plus, your federal income tax will drop to 9%. Less than what you are paying now overall, I am guessing.

    • eddie47d

McCarthy was a fear monger and “a loony” for the right so that was a cheap shot from the author(CW). Cain is being vetted for honesty and as yet doesn’t pass the smell test. Was there a “smear test” against Edwards or was it only Americans exposing the truth.Edwards deserved the smears and if Cain is covering something up (flip flopping) then he will deserve it too. If Cain can prove those women to be false then his popularity will soar. If not then it will be continually used against him.

  • Capitalist at Birth

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. I think, that if the alleged women do come forward, their lives and stories should be investigated thoroughly, including financial and political affiliations, before any deciding either way as to their veracity. I am unimpressed with Cains ability to be President, or Vice President. I sill contend that Newt is the best candidate for President with Palin, Rubio, West, or Bachmann as the Vice Presidential candidate. I would and Paul and Santorum as Cabinet Secretaries as well.

  • TOCB

What you are saying Chip, is simply untrue. The truth is many people who worked with Cain in the NRA have said Cain’s behaviour made them uncomfortable. If this is the best Republicans can do, I am sure Democrats are willing to do everything they can to help you nominate Herman Cain as your standard barer. Personally, I think he would be a great nominee for the Republican Party.

    • Patty

That is not true. He has worked with hundreds, thousands of people and many women have come forward to say these are unfounded. Just because you accuse someone of something, and it is not worth thier time, and they take money to go away, does not make you guilty of anything but being prudent.

      • eddie47d

Were those “many women” in the same room as the accusers were and can provide testimony against those accusers. If not then that may be irrelevant to the sexual harassment charges.

      • Patty

Eddie 47 – I stand by what I said. There was no sexual harassment. Just some woman and the % will go up according to the amount of contact with individuals. What is “they felt uncomfortable” with what he said? He call them honey? Sugar? Very popular words in the south. I think they took it out of whatever context it was presented in and saw a chance to make a quick buck. Period. I know a lot better ways to get to a jerk guy, and it is through his wife. Behind every strong man is a stronger woman.

  • http://www.r3voluti0n.com/ Jason

      • http://www.r3voluti0n.com/ Jason

What are you talking about? I didn’t give Clinton a pass for anything. I am not even a Democrat. Don’t blindly attack anyone who points out legitimate flaws with a candidate and assume the are a Democrat. This is not about right and left, this is about right and wrong. If the guy did these things, and lies about it, he is no better than Clinton. Attacking the Democrats (or even a conservative) who points this out is not making your candidate look any better. Wrong is wrong. Evil is evil. I stand by the only principled candidate. I stand by the only real conservative candidate.

I support alot of Republicans at home here in GA. Sadly at this point I will not be voting for any Presidential Candidates Republican or Democrat. Democrats won’t get my vote because they just don’t get it. Republicans lost my confidence with their Cut the budget double talk with undertones of ” protect my self serving interests ” we need term limits on all elected Officials. We need New Fresh Clear minded individuals. As for who should be President Hey pull Joe Citizen off his tractor and put him in office. Rich the Wealthy aren’t in touch with the working man or woman they don’t have to face the realization of possibly losing their homes to forclosure whilst barely making ends meet. You don’t see wealthy politicians comming down from the Hill and getting in the trenches with Struggling Americans trying to find employment while the cost of gas is so high and the cost of feeding a family is now reaching a state of ridiculous. These same wealthy politicians and political wanna be’s like Cain are the same employers who are down sizing. cutting jobs, freezing hiring, laying of workers, or forcing them into early retirement. These same big spenders don’t care about the working class only the Corperate dollar Share prices and excessive living and spending.

    • winolet

I agree with limiting terms for Representatives and Senators. In for 2 years – then out with them.

      • Dave

While the idea seems good, 2 years is not the answer. It takes experience from school age timeframe on to become a knowledgable political type. Rules of order took up a lot of my time when I was a student Senator.
The inexperience with all the basic rules needed to get legislation in place would overwhelm most people and limiting terms would bring disorder to the proceedings.
Better to get transparency of all proceedings, it’s our government for crying out loud.
Track all lobbying activity and donations of large sums. Unfortunately, all attempts to change that has been trumped by the parties involved.

Don’t get your hopes up about “joe citizen” getting off his tractor, and going to D.C.! I was one of those 50 years ago!! And I would rather stay on that tractor, where I am fully visible to GOD, and able to see the sun shine. I am ill equipped to enter to a “Den of Theives”, (with no protection wahtsoever)! It woud take at least 3 elections in which incumbent “politicians” would be totally voted out, – no matter party affiliation!! — After that a Max of 2 terms, then out of politics! Max wage of possibly $65,000 annually, Not retierment (other than the S.S. they are paying – just like the rest of us)! “Company car provided, – possibly one of regular cars fom the “motor pool”, – no private trips that they don’t pay out of their own pockets, – only government planes provided for office holder, and his essential staff! No lobbyists, no “under the table payola”…… Again no retierment!! Now a “career politician” can hold each office possibly two years, but does not stay in any one place longer than that! …… As I said I would not want to be in current system as a “public official”! The chance of remaining honest and on course, is about the same as a bull fighter in the ring with 280 raging bulls,- with no cape, no piccadllos, no sword, and no shotgun! You only get gored, trampled or destroyed by “unexplainable means”!.. Or you join the Hurd! ..It is a whole lot safer up there on that tractor! You might even carry a firearm in the fields, (for rodents, and varmints of course)!

Remember the break down of word “Politics”, is the greek word “poly”,-(meaning many) and “tics”- “websters dictionary”,-are (little blood sucking leeches)! And they definately are!

It’s not a rumor if Cain has admitted to the payouts to these women. Why didn’t he tell the truth from the beginning? We don’t need another liar in the white house.

      • Morduin00

I don’t know if he is outright lying or just recalling past history as it comes back to him after he thinks about it more and more.

Regardless, he is not handling this well. As I said many times with Clinton, and I will say it here. If he comes out with a coherent, plausible message on this matter, it will end quicker than it began.

I think we would all appreciate honesty about past actions. If he was fuzzy on the facts, he should have just deferred the questions and had a press conference when he got his thoughts in order. Speaking off the cuff didn’t help him here.

    • Dave

Sarah Palin opened her mouth proving her lack of reasonable knowledge on most any topic. Figurehead is all she is. Thank God she no longer is Governor in Alaska.
A Dem. didn’t pass this info along, Cain says it’s an ex campaign staffer for him.
Passed along by the other candidates is now who Cain says it is coming from. This isn’t out of the norm for the Republicans or anyone one in politics.
THis “dirty” politics has been around since the dawn of politics. You only hear more about it because of modern media, not Liberal media, media in general. They need to fill 24hours a day with somethingso they repeat it every 30 minutes at minimum. I get more stuff on my phone than I ever got from reading a paper in the past.

      • DaveH

No man, or woman, has enough knowledge to micromanage our economy or our lives. That’s why we keep getting liars in office. They have to lie to convince people that they can accomplish the unaccomplishable.
It’s high time we start unraveling the Beast which devours 40% of our economy and keeps us in chains. Big Government is the Problem, Not the Solution.

      • Don

Dave, modern media, as you call it, is liberal media, idiot, prove me wrong !!!!

      • eddie47d

I would think most news sources have Conservatives in charge of the companies and making lots of money doing it. There are plenty of Robert Murdoch’s out there who are only interested in the money not what is presented on the shows.

      • JeffH

eddie says, “I would think most news sources have Conservatives in charge of the companies and making lots of money doing it.”

Excuse me while I laugh. Are you serious?

Hmmm, liberal bias exists within a wide variety of media channels including network news shows of CBS, ABC, and NBC, cable channels CNN and MSNBC, as well as major newspapers, news-wires, and radio outlets, especially CBS News, Newsweek, and the New York Times.

The arguments intensified when it was revealed that the Democratic Party received a total donation of $1,020,816, given by 1,160 employees of the three major broadcast television networks (NBC, CBS, ABC), while the Republican Party received only $142,863 via 193 donations. Both of these figures represent donations made in 2008.

Here is a list of medias that George Soros does not own but contributes to in a big way. Like most back door liberals. I seem to always wonder about any outlet that has .org after it. http://www.mrc.org/bmi/reports/2011/George_Soros_Media_Mogul.html

Networks Hit Cain Story 50 Times in Less Than Four Days; Ignored Clinton Scandals

Over a period of just three and a half days, NBC, CBS and ABC have developed an insatiable hunger for the Herman Cain sexual harassment story, devoting an incredible 50 stories to the allegations since Monday morning. In contrast, over a similar period these networks mostly ignored far more substantial and serious scandals relating to Bill Clinton.

This pattern continued on Wednesday night and into Thursday as the evening newscasts and morning shows highlighted the story 19 times. On Good Morning America, Brian Ross offered innuendo and slung gossip, recounting, “But behind the scenes, several of the campaigns are still urging reporters to continue to dig, George, saying, there’s more to be found in the private life of Herman Cain.”

      • eddie47d

I didn’t stutter Jeff so laugh away. The OWNERS of news outlets are Conservative and wealthy. They don’t care what gets printed or put on the airwaves as long as they get their payout. Their employees probably do give to whoever they please and they may indeed support Democrats but I wasn’t referring to them.

      • JeffH

Whatever you say eddie, whatever you say! I know we can take you at your word because you’ve always been up front and honest.

Now I suppose YOU will point out who all of the “conservative” owners of the news sites are because you know it as fact, right?…or is it that YOU know that “corporations” own these news sources and YOU know how evil these corporations are and YOU know that only conservatives own these corporations?

Grace all of us with your all knowing sources eddie, just this once…please? Of course you know and I know that you don’t have any source to cite and that this is only your opinion and you’ve made it very clear that you do believe opinion to be fact.

      • JeffH

eddie, while I’m on a roll here, I’d like to add another kink to your anti-conservative, anti-corporate, pro-liberal, pro-Democratic armour.

Human Events did an analysis and examined only those Fortune 100 companies that operated nonprofit charitable foundations that made grants to groups we identified as on either the political right or left. That reduced the number to 53 corporate foundations. They examined the most recent tax- return filings for these foundations (IRS Form 990) and compiled the dollar values for grants and matching gifts to left-wing groups and right-wing groups.

The results are the exact opposite of the common perception. The Fortune 100 foundations gave more money to the political left. In fact, the grant-making was lopsided: The political left received nearly $59 million, while the political right received only about $4 million, a ratio of 14.5($58,928,393) to 1($4,049,405).

If the Fortune 100 represents corporate America, then the belief that corporate America is more generous to public interest and advocacy groups on the right is clearly wrong. Unfortunately, that misperception is embedded in American consciousness. How often are groups on the left derided as “corporate lackeys”?(hint-almost never)

If This woman is not going to speak up about this then why didn’t SHE just KEEP her Mouth Shut and the same for each one of the women who claim they were harrassed by Mr. Cain it couldn’t have been that bad if they didnt report it when it happened. At least it would have been on record back then.

    • Dave

They did report it. Two got money to stay quiet, which they did. When Cain said it never happened he didn’t keep quiet, violated the rules of the agreements. He messed up not the women. They received $35,000 and $45,000 and moved on with their lives. Cain didn’t have to do anything, unscathed at the time. Not now, though.

      • Morduin00

I find it interesting that you believe Cain violated the agreement first. If I remember the sequence of events, he was responding to a reporter’s questions about the alleged sexual harassment. Therefore the reporter brought it up first. Then there is “where did the reporter get the story?” issue. Someone would have had to have been the source and more than likely it wasn’t Cain. If it was from one of the women, mere mention of the fact that there was a harassment case would have violated their agreement. If it was from a member of the Restaurant Association, then the Association broke the agreement. Not Cain.

      • JeffH

heard this on the radio but not confirmed…all the while the “attorney” for the “victim” is pandering the story to every media outlet that will listen. Supposedly the “victim” has told the “attorney” to cease and desist…the attorney says she wants to make a statement?

…is it real or is it Memorex…

      • Patty

Now THAT I do believe. Beware of the attorney who only wants to put his hands in your pockets to keep them warm.

  • Christy

Anyone who is having doubts about Mr. Cain should listen to the interview Sean Hannity did with Mr. Cain yesterday. Mr. Cain is telling the truth. He is a good man and even FOX NEWS is not getting the truth out there but instead going along with the mainstream media and reporting inuendo rather than the cold hard facts. You can listen to the interview if you go to hannity.com.

    • Suzanne

Fox is run by a man who is linked in to the elites in the Republican Party, all of whom are determined that a moderate get the nomination for POTUS. Roger Ailes isn’t going to do or to allow anything to advance a true conservative. In their own way the Republican elites are as bad as the Democrats in their determination to self-destruct. They know that only about 25% of registered Republicans want Romney but they will support him anyway. They are setting themselves up to lose 75% of their voters either to a third party or to those who will simply stay home rather than vote for another moderate. What fools they are!

      • Bruce D.

Really it is up to the individual host who he likes. O’reilly is a moderate so he would support a moderate. Hannity is more of a conservative so he would lean more toward a conservative canidate. They have said many times that management does not tell them what to say.

      • DaveH

Yeah! Just what this country needs… another guy who doesn’t understand economics, who failed to see the collapse one week before it happened, spoke out against it, and thought there was no need to audit the Federal Reserve where this man used to work. Then we get an audit (thanks to Ron Paul) and find out about over 16 trillion (yes trillion) in secret unreported bailouts. Much of which went to foreign countries.

Yes, Herman Cain is just what this country needs… someone to drive it further into the ground!

      • moebears

You got it right! Cain is, as Ron Paul said, “an insider”.

  • Robin from Arcadia, IN

I think it would be fantastic if there was at least one media source out there that wouldn’t be biased. A source that treats all equally, regardless of skin color or political association. That only relay facts, not hearsay. As much as I love this website, I know it is conservative, which is my preference, but wouldn’t it be great to find that website that was facts only?

    • pilot

Try FOX, — I know they are not perfect, (they are human you know), but at least 75% of the time they get the facts right, (even if slightly skewed), and they do show “Liberal debaters” on air LIVE! Though not perfect,- they probably present the truth about 50% more than the other “sycophant stations”! There were a few radio stations that were presenting the “raw” truth, but they have been forcibly removed,—wonder who would do that?? One was “rebel radio”, who talked freedom, constitution, bill of rights, self defense, and Christianity —(and other stuff nobody wants to hear)! And of course the “biggie” was discussed, which was surviving possible uprisings and collpase of a wonderful government!! So obviously it had to go!

Being female, and having gone through a legitimate sexual harrassment suit (I was the victim) during the exact same time frame as thomas was happening, I did sympathize with the ‘victim’ on that suit. It is true many women do not come forward due to the proceedings that follow and being ostracized once again trying to prove you are telling the truth.
I am hoping I get the opportunity to vote for Cain for president. I consider myself a fair and honest person, and I do believe in this attack on Cain it is a pathetic attack with something that was already dealt with in his past. I pray others have enough sense not to follow the ‘herd’ mentality and exaggeration’s with the media. That’s how we got this president. It’s amazing what media/marketing can do. Cain is the first candidate that doesnt ‘run’ from legitimate questions. In my view all the rest are your typical ‘politicians’. This attack on Cain has not swayed my vote for him in the least, as I’m sick of unethical tactics the politicians use.

Even if he, and I’m sure he didn’t, slapped a female on the but it doesn’t mean he want make a good President. All he needs is a good forign affairs VP.

I would agree with you on that madog2. Just the fact that they had to go back ten years to find something of this sort shows desperation on the part of the left. Even if he did invite the so called third woman up to his room she claims she said no and it did not affect her job in any way and that was the end of it. So what’s the big deal?

      • JUKEBOX

I believe Herman Cain should carry a hangman’s noose and a cross with a handful of nails to every one of his rallies, and invite his opponents to finish his lynching and crucifixion. The driveby media would go apoplectic.

These people did the same thing to Sarah Palin in 2008….they even broke their necks to get to the 24,000 emails when they were released, and only found she was a hard working governor. Now they are investigating Cain….but they never, ever investigated their Messiah Obama….where did he come from? Why won’t he release his college records and passports from the 80′s? Why did he and his lovely wife both “voluntarily” gave up their lawyer licenses? And the biggest, why did three young men whom rumor has were having a sexual affair with Obama while he attened Rev. Wrights’ hate America church, suddenly die within one month of each other, right before Obama hit the road in 2007 to campaign for president, one died of natural causes, the other two were shot professional style? Why doesn’t someone investigate that?

      • denniso

If the charges are ‘totally false’ and ‘entirely fabricated’,then why were the women paid off w/ a yrs salary? The media or the left is not ‘lynching’ Cain…these women didn’t come forward first, but rather the story was leaked to the media, and Cain blames the campaign of Rick Perry.

Sexual harassment is serious and not a petty charge. All executives and CEO’s know this by now,so why would Cain allow himself to even come close to doing that?

Do the rightwing supporters of Cain know that he was on the board of the Fed?

      • Patty

Because thier accusations were baseless and/or petty. They must have known this, or why would they settle for such a petty amount? It would be to thier benefit to keep thier mouth shut, least what the left wing media will do to push them to the fore front will certainly not be worth the pay out, embarassment, and hassle of having the media camp out on your front lawn.

      • Blueshoes

        Denniso,

You amaze me as to how totally ignorant you are. Every article I read and find you on it, you just never learn anything. Try reading and intelligent things instead of the comics.

First of all, Sexual Harassment can be: “Your hair looks good today.” “Boy, you have a great smile.” “Do you drive to work or take a bus.” “Is that a new dress? I’ve never seen you in that one before.” “How long does it take for you to get to work in the morning?” “You remind me of my wife, when you smile that way.” “Yes, I’ll have a coffee… sweet. I like things that way.”

None of these have anything to do with sexual harassment but the person can, in THEIR mind, take it as something sexual… intentionally, by mood or attitude.

As for being “paid off”. In some cases, that’s what the women wanted and that was the reason for their claim. Others, it’s just a matter of letting the person go because your organization does NOT NEED that type of employee, that is either mentally ill or troublesome. A “Go Away” settlement.

        Get an education, Dennis… O!

      • http://Evangelinestraub@gmail.com Truther

Can anybody actually believe a litigatious person, who sues for no real “damage!”, for easy money? People have said mean things to me that were clearly sexual, and those made me angry. Did I think of sueing? never! So “she says, and “he says” and guess what, i think i would rather believe a man who actually rose from poverty, earned his money the responsible way, has the courage to leave the” slavery plantation” the Democrats have persuaded most blacks is paradise, is actually clever without the propaganda the ” Harvard Prop offers,” and is an unapologetic Christian. Nobody is perfect, and since Democrats protected clinton who may have actually raped a woman, and defend a pres. Who is bankrupting this country, i believe they are in no position to criticize Cain.

A person such as Cain is special, and it would be a shame to give up on him for no verifiable and good reason

So what if Mr Cain was on the Fed board, if you would do more research you would find that alot of CEO’s and even Governors sit on this board. They do it in an advisory capacity. Just a short investigation would have brought up enough questions to at least shelve him until the next election, using the time to thoroughly vet him. What a mess this wonderful country is in because they didn’t! The entire synopsis sickens me. Now that the door is open, it will be next to impossible to close it. The hurricane-force winds have been loosed.

      • http://Evangelinestraub@gmail.com Truther

My dear, you are presuming that Cain is guilty! Verbal abuse is not like raping, and with so many mean spirited people saying all sorts of hurtful and really damaging things, often protected by ” freedom of speech,” It may also be helpful to know that during the time of these accusations, many women were suing for “sexual harrassment,” and getting offers for settlement despite lack of merit, for reasons of expediency. The fact that the settlement for this case was so low is proof that this accusation has no merit. And shame on her lawyer for voicing her accusations while allowing her to keep her identity secret! Believe me, this person will come out once she is offered substantial money or a lucative book deal. Mark my words.

As for you, be careful, what goes around comes around. A little kindness and fairness is always a good thing!i

      • Ranger 1

Boy, would he ever need a “great” foreign affairs V.P., because Herman doesn’t appear to know anything about the rest of the world, (“we need to stop China because they’re developing nuclear weapons” . . . . . . . . sorry Herman, we’re a bit late! China has had nukes since at least 1964) and while one formal complaint about sexual harassment might be questionable, a total of three complaintants, all of whom are reluctant to be exposed for fear of their jobs, pretty much means Herman is probably a serial sexual harasser, and I’m sorry, but that definitely speaks to his character. At least with Clinton and most others, the sex was consensual. Not so with Herman. I also take umbrage with the characterization of “high tech lynching” that Chip referred to, including Clarence Thomas. If anyone has actually read the one or two legal decisions Clarence has put out, you’d realize that he, like Herman, is also an idiot!

As a lifelong registered Republican (although the last one I supported was Eisenhower), I hate to say it but Obama is going to win in a landslide in 2012. Oh, maybe not quite as big as in 08, but he’ll win for certain, and that’s because the jerks heading up my party at the present time are obviously morons!!!! Look, Obama is really vulnerable; he’s pissed off most of his youthful supporters because he’s failed to deliver on over half of his promises from 08 (that’s why the Tea-Baggers took over the House in 2010, simply because only 1% of the 18-25 yr olds bothered to go to the polls because they were “ticked”, while in 08 over 18% of that demographic group went to the polls, and almost all of them voted for Obama).

If the Republican leaders had any intelligence, they would do the following:
        1) Go along with a huge tax increase on the top 1%, like over 60% of the public wants. If you crunch the numbers, it should be easy to convince Billionaires and Mega-Millionaires that it would be to their fiscal advantage to pump more of their tax dollars into a proposal like Obama’s current plan, only go him one step further and double it! As anyone who’s taken Econ 101 knows, putting more money into the hands of the middle and lower classes results in them spending every last penny on demands for goods and services, new businesses start up, and the economy soars. Hell, the Dems figured that out 60 years ago, which is why anytime we have a Democratic administration, the economy takes off, as opposed to all recent (starting with the biggest idiot, Reagan) GOP Presidents’ who still believe Milton Friedman’s disproven and thoroughly repudiated “Supply side” economic theory, because the rich would fare far better in a booming economy, even if they’re paying higher taxes, than in a depressed economy like now, when they’re paying very little in taxes.
        2) Support the Occupy Wall Street movement, which has probably several orders of magnitude more support than the Tea-Baggers could ever muster in their wettest dreams! Polls show that for every demonstrator (not the few rowdies) holding a “down with Wall Street” poster, there are thousands of citizens who agree with them. The Republicans should try to co-opt that movement, like they did with the Tea-Baggers, who were initially opposed to the current disparity of wealth until their movement got co-opted by the Koch brothers, Karl Rove, and other numbskulls like Grover Norquist (a “pledge” to avoid raising taxes on the rich??? That alone may have lost the Republicans any chance in 2012). The Republicans have got to return to supporting the populist movements, like they used to in their early history, or 2012 is going to be another disappointment. Look at the numbers. Of all the registered voters in this country, 49% are Democratic and less than 33% are Republican, with the rest being independents, Greens, Libertarians, Peace & Freedoms, etc. All the Dems have to do is get a good turnout and they’ll swamp the Republicans, and the current Republican-led House reluctance to support any jobs issue is going to kill them! Unfortunately, I’ve called every national election correctly for the past 40 years. Those neophytes the Tea-Baggers got in in 2010 have not helped our cause one iota.
        3) Find some decent, intelligent, electable candidates. I don’t think this country is ready for another D minus, imbecilic President like Dubya. (who managed to go through 8 years without ever learning how to pronounce NUCLEAR!) The only one so far is Jon Huntsman, from Utah, but he doesn’t appear to have a prayer. Stop allowing nuts like Marcia Bachman, Rick Perry, Newt Gingrich, Herman Cain, and even Mitt Romney to clog up the air waves with their non-sensical, illogical, flip-flopping on issues drivel. Thank goodness complete loonies like Sarah Palin and Donald Trump bowed out early.

I’m very pessimistic that the Republican party will find wise leadership this next year, so I guess we’d better all come to grips with having to say, “President Obama” for 4 more years. We CAN do better, folks.

      • Sandra M.

There are too many proofs in your writing that tells me that you are really Democrat or liberal disguising as a Republican. Go back to Politico or Huffington!

      • Matt Newell

I agree you have a democratic way of writing (goofy).

      • http://Evangelinestraub@gmail.com Truther

Ranger, it is amazing how every liberal actually think they are intelligent– is that why you and they actually name call. Even that singer Belafonte calls Cain stupid when he has no education! For your info, Obama got very low grades while at Occidental Univ.and then got admitted to Harvard! Now, how did that happen? This is beyond affirmative action.

When one gets into government, they appoint experts in Foreign Affairs. The important thing is one has the security and welfare of this country as his first priority, and the wisdom and chracter to make wise decisions. Obama certainly fails on all this, plus he does not even like this country! I’ve met so many of these country hating liberals while taking graduate studies here as a foreign student. That always perplexed and bothered me.

This is a good country! Let us not let political affiliation divide us.

      • Desert_Fox1015

If His Majesty ‘Mr O.’ gets his way and the taxes are raised on the so-called 1% you’ll see more people loosing their jobs and the cost of everything going up. How would you like paying $10 for a loaf of bread, or $12 for a gallon of milk, or even $20 for a Ham Sandwich which cost about $1.50 now?

      • Kay Morgareidge

PLEASE learn to write the English language. Get a dictionary to help your spelling, and proofread. I agree with what I think you were trying to say, but clarity demands better writing skills.

    • Marilyn

I don’t believe this has anything to do with his race. Three women stepped forward because of their concerns…three of them. That shows a pattern. He lied to the people and he was caught in those lies. He had an inkling that he would be exposed and that is why he is running on the race card. Not only that, but his responses to the allegations shows his complicity. His story changed too many times. He has NO experience in politics and that is evident in his speeches. We need a candidate that is not a flip flopper and a Constitutionalist that will bring us back to what our founding fathers gave to us. I only see one campaigning that has that track record…Ron Paul.

      • winolet

As far as Cain changing or adding to his recollections; did you know where you were on such and such a date in 1980 (or any year in the past) and can you recollect exactly what you did on that day? If someone asked me to defend a statement or action I did in the past, and if I couldn’t remember (and it was important), I would keep thinking about it and eventually things would come back to me little by little. I am sure that is what happened to Herman Cain.

      • Dave

I certainly would remember something as big as three Harassment charges. Maybe not what I was wearing or what I had for dinner. But these things happened, the settlements, and he damn well knew all about them. Why didn’t he prep himself even after he admitted he knew they were going to come up. Come on He’s running for the office of the most powerful person in the country and the world.Noway does he have my confidence any more.

      • Nelson

Don’t let the media confuse you, there was only ONE filed harrassment, so how could he remember 3? Also, don’t forget that the liberal media is all over this and will and do state non-facts just to keep a story going.

      • pilot

Well Dave, — I guess then that he should get even more backers, and
increae his lead in the race! It worked for “Slick Willie”,- Lewinski made him a folk hero,- (to say nothing of his continual insinuations) and exposed affairs outside his own bedroom! Now Ted kennedy “the olympic swimmer”,- didn’t lose much forward progress after He took that “unseaworthy boat” off the pier, at Chappaquitica either! And our current leader – under the pall of “unproven citizenship” is not a doing all that badly either,— or is he??
Would Herman Cain be a “hero” if he WAS a Democrat??

      • Bruce D.

His story was not clear enough for sure. His campaign manager should be fired for his poor showing on the matter. It is possible he would have done better if he just told the media that he said something not appropiate and regretted it -if- that is what happened. Then refuse to talk about it anymore because he doesn’twant to contribute to the feeding frenzy and because there is noth more to the story.

      • Don

The LSM did not make Mr. Cain.

Cain made Cain with the help of God Almighty, so the LSM will not be able to bring him down unless he caves, and I don’t see that happening. This guy BEAT CANCER. The LSM are simply another malignant tumor that he will overcome.

Hey Dave, do you trust Obama, Matthews, Carney, and all of the other purveyors of bovine fesces explicitly? Sorry for using more than one syllable words.

      • eyeswideopen

Nelson, as usual, the facts are not important to the radical right are they? Just so you know, there were two suits, on settled for 35k and the other for 45k. It was a years salary for each woman who had to quit their jobs. The third incident was not filed, as the other woman knew that the other two had filed and hoped that he would change his actions.

      • JeffH

eyes talks about facts and yet provides nothing more than hearsay. So much for the facts.

Anyone can make allegations of any nature including predatory lawyers. It does not mean they are true, nor does it mean that if two women did receive separation packages that it was due to harassment. Sorry, I prefer facts rather than rumors and allegations. Until these women come forward and can be grilled on the facts and why they settled, it’s all hearsay. Until the NRA confirms the alleged payments were made because of Cain’s mis-conduct it is nothing more than political conjecture.

      • Liberty Minded

Excuse me! You mean you wouldn’t remember a paid settlement, that is so lame. Here we have not one but three women coming forward which tells me this can’t be a set-up. At the very least, Cain has compromised his integrity. Ron Paul is the only honest statesman we can vote for.

      • ALL AMERICAN

Hill and Bill “forgot all about” their investment in Whitewater and that was a significant investment for their income level at the time. When it was revealed all you liberal dupes gave him a free pass on it.

      • Old Henry

Well AA, Dr. Paul is exactly crrect. Why is it ANY of our busness what any other sovereign country does as long as they do NOTHING to us? WE ARE NOT THE WORLD’S POLICEMAN.

India has nukes. Israel has nukes. We have nukes and WE are the ony country to have ever used them. So, all other nations should demand that we disarm.

This country has been sticking its nose into other countries business for 60 at a minimum. What has it gotten us? Bankrupcy.

Do you tell your neighbors what they should drive, what they should buy at the store, how they should raise their kids? I doubt it because IT’S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.

      • eddie47d

Bill wasn’t given a free pass on Whitewater but there really wasn’t much there. They lost their investment like others did. They were conned like thousands of Americans are each and every day in these kinds of investment scams. The crooks who plotted this bad deal should have gone to jail and not harrassment of innocent investors. The whole situation was over blown by the right wingers for publicity.

      • Patty

Clinton didn’t get a pass, but he was bailed out. That was the scandal. Whitewater:
Most of Clinton’s involvement in the Whitewater scandal took place while Clinton was governor of Arkansas. Whitewater is the name given to the alleged banking and real estate scandals of Clinton and his friends. After money loss and a failed real estate venture, an illegal method to recover the losses was conceived. The scandal involves Clinton allegedly pressuring Arkansas Small Business Administration (SBA) worker David Hale into making an SBA loan to Madison Guaranty Savings and Loan. The money from the loan was then funneled out with cashier checks and personal accounts (many under false names) to pay for Clinton’s debts from the failed Whitewater land project. In other words, tax dollars bailed Bill and Hillary out of a financial crisis after illegal means were used to acquire them.

The President’s friends and land deal associates, Fmr. Gov. Jim Guy Tucker and Jim and Susan McDougal, who were involved in Madison Guaranty Savings and Loan and the Whitewater land deal, were recently convicted for their involvement in the scandal. Subpoenaed billing records of the Rose Law Firm, which Hillary Clinton worked for and which is involved in Whitewater, mysteriously showed up in the White House in January 1996. Among the finger prints on these records were those of Hillary Clinton. While this case has been open for several years, facts are still being revealed. President Clinton testified on behalf of his convicted friends during their trial. After countless trials and hearings, Susan McDougal refuses to speak on the issue, though a bailout check signed by her, and with Clinton mentioned on it, has been displayed as evidence Mysteriously, few reasons exist for her to remain silent except what many allege to be pressure and/or threats from Bill Clinton. This scandal is still under investigation. Over a dozen convictions have come from it thus far.

Mr. Cain did not pay a settlement – the National Restaurant Association agreed to a settlement deal with the plaintiff’s attorney, after Mr. Cain left his position there. At most, he might have received a letter informing him that it was all settled and he didn’t have to worry about it any more, so long as he agreed to keep it all confidential. I’m sure as CEO of a national restaurant chain, he’s had to deal with dozens of legal matters over the years (on the order of the infamous McDonald’s hot coffee suit), so this would be just another hassle to forget about when it was over.

      • http://www.revoltingmedia.org Jesse Wooding

Actually, Cain was not a party to the settlement. The N.R.A. was, but he had nothing to do with the settlement. The organization handled it with lawyers (and likely insurance). The organization’s lawyers handled it, leaving Cain in the dark about it all. Even if the N.R.A. manages to lift some of the confidentiality clauses from it, he would not know directly what is in the settlement unless it comes to light by either the lawyers or the accuser mentioning it.

      • Rick

Come on now Old Henry, you’ve got to put everything into it’s proper perspective here. The leaders of India, Pakistan, France, or any other freedom loving nation have not publicly stated that they would use nukes on another nation if they had the capability. Iran’s Ahmadinijad has done just that! When you have a loose cannon with more than a few marbles rolling around in their head, and nothing else between their ears, telling the world they would use a nuke against Israel if they could you have to sit up and take notice. How many times have we heard this nut case get before the U.N. or some other world forum and say he believes it is his duty to wipe Israel off the map and if that means turning his own country red with blood then so be it. Then he goes on to say that his people will be martyrs as a result of it. Kim Jong Il has already been proven to be unstable but at least his rhetoric hasn’t come out and public threatened another nation with the use of a nuclear weapon. But if you let a madman like Ahmadinijad get nukes and he follows through with just one lobbed over Israel then all bets will be off and, I believe, Kim Jong Il would not hesitate to launch several of his at that point.

Ron Paul may be brilliant where domestic policies and our financial problems are concerned. I’ll give him that. But his consistent remarks on foreign policy are ludricrous to say the least and shows how naive and/or ignorant he is when it comes to foreign issues. And ignorance in those matters is enough to get us all killed. One other area I’ll give him credit is the fact that he hasn’t flip-flopped on any of his positions so at least we know where he stands on the different issues. But when I first heard him say that “he believes Iran should be able to obtain nukes if they want to and it is not our place to tell them they can’t have them” I pulled my support for him immediately. And I WAS one of those in his camp rooting for him. Not anymore and never again.

      • moebears

Rick, Old Henry and Ron Paul are right on the money. Iran can’t even get itself together to make a gallon of gas. Furthermore, they are not suicidal. They know that if they even looked like they might launch a nuke (assuming they can even get one made), they’d be blown off the face of the earth before they hit the button. How’s our current foreign policy working for us? Pretty crappy, I’d say. We’re bombing and occupying left and right, and fast running out of money, not to mention our troops are already spread too thin. The ones coming home are ending up with more serious injuries than ever before, and we can’t even take care of them. Ron Paul is the only one with the right foreign policy. If Ron Paul isn’t elected, this country will go down, faster and faster.

      • Buster the Anatolian

Bill and Hill got a free pass from the liberals. They insisted since Bill and Hill said they forgot all about the investment it must be true. There is no way they forgot all about the investment for it was a significant amount for them at that time. If Bill and Hill had said something to this effect “yeah we invested in it and lost our shirts” very little else would have been said.

      • Patty

All of this is so past history. I work with attorneys in my business. 3 of them have been slapped with harassment, protected class type lawsuits or threats of them. ALL baseless. All paid 5 figures just to make them go away. Because of the loud mouthed so-called women activists, when a woman claims harassment, everyone cowers. I have seen more women flirt and harass men than I have seen visa versa. It is to the point where you cannot have a conversational exchange with someone of the opposite sex, or a private conversation without some busy-body eves dropping and then putting thier 2 cents worth in telling you how you were just sexually harassed. Have I been harrassed? You bet. Did I take care of it. You bet. Did I sue? Not worth my time. Those women would be wise to keep thier mouth shut. From the exchanges that have been published of the so called harassment, they were not harassed at all. The one that has come forward and said he invited them to his corporate apt. I question if that conversation ever took place. For a group on the left who gave Wm Clinton a pass when he used state troopers to be his “wing men” and bring women to his hotel room, expose himself and tell them to kiss it, what can they possibly be thinking???? Same rules must not apply as usual, same old, same old. Bottom line, this is a none issue. Drop it, move on.

      • ALL AMERICAN

        Thank you, Patty.
        Well said.

      • JeffH

Patty, HEAR HEAR! A lot of time and money can be spent on these types of accusations, whether true or not. The board of the National Restaurant Association along with their legal council are the one that will make the decision to fight or pay to make the alleged allegations go away, not Herman Cain. In most cases, I’m sure it’s much cheaper to come to an amicable agreement just to avoid the negative press and the cost of a hearing/trial.

As others have said, how convenient that these allegations have have become public at a time when Cain is leading all comers in the polls. Coincidence? Not even close!

        Ron Paul/Judge Andrew Napolitano 2012

      • libertytrain

I’m wondering why these women waited till this prime moment to come forward. I’m a woman. I’ve seen a lot in my life but I get tired of this kind of crap. Maybe it was real, though we don’t quite know what it was and what they deemed harassment. Maybe it was not real… convenient though…

      • Patty

        Ditto that one sister!

      • eddie47d

Why was it a Republican who exposed this yet you blame the Liberals. Why did Cain blame the Republican Perry campaign without any proof. You ought to go to the source of these allegations instead of rolling over on Liberals. Take your fly paper somewhere else and catch those Republican presidential spiders who are smacking each other down and place them in your web of intrigue.

      • JeffH

eddie, was it a Republican that leaked the story? Did you little crystal ball tell you that? The actual source of the leak is unknown, so put that in you pipe and smoke it!

Cain and Mark Block, his top aide, blamed Rick Perry, then they backed off.

The response from the Perry camp? To blame Mitt Romney.

Aha! they said. Evidence of the possibility that maybe Mr. Romney’s aides were behind the story. Not true, said the Romney camp.

But wait! A brief report in The Washington Times quoted an anonymous source who believes that Rahm Emanuel, the former White House chief of staff, now the mayor of Chicago, is also involved. A friend of the Cain campaign believes a National Restaurant Association employee out of the Chicago office leaked the story to the Perry campaign via information and influence from Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s office.

words from this old Elvis Costello song may provide the answer…

        Blame it on Cain
        Don’t blame it on me
        Oh-oh, oh, it’s nobody’s fault
But we need somebody to burn

        Blame it on Cain,
Oh-oh, oh, please don’t blame it on me
        It’s nobody’s fault
But it just seems to be his turn.

libertytrain, this is one of your guys who witnessed the harrassment. The women didn’t seek out the media, quit the reverse. The witness to Cain’s repeat actions, is a republican, Chris Wilson. http://biggovernment.com/awrhawkins/2011/11/02/audio-political-consultant-claims-he-witnessed-cains-alleged-harassment-refuses-to-discuss-details/

eyes, in your haste to hate all things Republican(hasn’t yet figured out that both parties are full of scum)you don’t even know if libertytrain is a Republican supporter. You can be such a dufus sometimes.

Political Consultant Claims He Witnessed Cain’s Alleged Harassment; Refuses to Discuss Details

This morning, on KTOK’s “Mullins in the Morning” (Oklahoma City), Oklahoma political consultant Chris Wilson (WPA Opinion Research) claimed that he had been a witness to GOP presidential frontrunner Herman Cain’s alleged sexual harassment of a former female employee some twenty years ago.

When Mullins pressed Wilson to provide details on what he supposedly witnessed, Wilson declined, citing a reluctance to be drawn into legal disputes. He would only say: “If she comes out and talks about it, like I said, it’ll probably be the end of [Cain’s] campaign.”

Chris Wilson is a Republican American pollster and political strategist who has conducted hundreds of public opinion studies for over 100 of the Fortune 500, influential associations, foundations, elected leaders of the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives and state governments. Wilson served as Executive Director of the Republican Party of Texas when President George W. Bush was governor, working directly for Karl Rove.

I can only spectulate that Wilson’s allegiance is to the “Beltway Republicans” and to preserve the status quo that exists in our government.

      • libertytrain

Jeff, I expect they will be coming out of the woodwork to make claims of what they saw. I’m not a Cain backer, but I’m sick of the lib left trying to crucify the black men that are not lib left. They are so racist they will do anything to try and stop a black man from succeeding -

      • JeffH

libertytrain, you are so right on. I’m not a Cain backer either but you can almost darn well predict he actions of the MSM and the lefties when they feel threatened, especially by a person of color or a female. What’s interesting is that Cain’s popularity in the polls has gone up which instead of the opposite. I’m content to pay attention only to the point of seeing if this situatio is true or not. I’m quite sure that many people are sick of the manipulating and just want to get the best candidate(RP)to oust the cancer from the WH.

      • libertytrain

Jeff, it’s ridiculous when the left makes these racist slams on these black men and then like somehow claim they are not racist…I can’t quite figure how they figure…. :)

      • http://PersonalLiberetyDigest Lawrence

Marilyn, we have a ton of experience in Washington D.C., and all of it has put America in trouble. This philosophy of experience is away of making people think, you need to know your way around Washington before being an elected official. We send so called “good people” to Washington every election, only to be inbred in several months to become dishonest and money hungry thieves. My problem with “Sexual harassment” is the definition applied by our law philosophy? We do not have equality in our law system. I’m sorry to say, but the president is not the only leader in Washington D.C., we cannot blame him only. The only way we will get our constitution back, is for the people to stand up to this corruption found in Washington D.C…”stop all donations by lobbyist”.

      • Iris

But Marilyn, just what constitutes sexual harassment? Flirting? Silly comments that may have been meant to be cute or complimentary? The whole issue of sexual harassment came into being because it then meant the absolute requirement of sexual favors or losing your job! What has been quoted is that these women FELT uncomfortable. What does that mean????? How is Herman Cain or any other person supposed to control how someone else FEELS? HOGWASH!!!
If Cain blackmailed a woman with job loss unless she ‘puts out’ then let us get rid of him. If he innocently or even flirtingly made a comment that is innocuous, then FORGEDDABOUTIT.

      • Liberty Minded

Then why would he pay settlement if there wasn’t some truth to it.

      • Morduin00

Quite frankly it is cheaper to pay someone 50K than it is to go completely through a lawsuit.

      • Patty

It wasn’t even 50k, it was 35k. 1 years salary. It was a baseless accusation and the pay off was to just make them go away. As said earlier, it was the cheaper route to go. I process every settlement that goes through 1 of my clients’ business (attorneys, it is thier business to sue people). How many settlements have I done because it was cheaper for the company to settle? I average about 10 per week. Maybe, maybe 1 per month are actually justified. Torte reform, you betcha.

      • alex

        HE DIDN’T PAY IT

      • Patty

Alex- Well duh! They didn’t sue him, they sued the company that he was working for at the time. People rarely sue people personally. To hard to collect.

      • ALL AMERICAN

TO END THE B.S., BECAUSE MANY WOMEN NEVER SHUT UP WHEN THEY ARGUE A POINT. IF THERE IS/WAS CONSTANT ARGUING OF THIS CLAIM, HOW WOULD THAT AFFECT MR CAINS CAREER? USE YOUR HEAD. THIS IS THE LEFT’S ATTEMPT AT SLANDER. DROP IT.

      • John Woodbury

Liberty Minded, I remember the 90′s, men could not even sneeze whit out being blamed for sexual harassment. Remember when the suits were filed Cain was gone. I am not surprised the NRA settled, I am sure their insurance took care of it. The suit was against the NRA for permitting a atmosphere of sexual harassment, not Cain as he was gone.

      • Morduin00

You are right. He didn’t pay it. The Restaurant Association did.

For that matter, did he even sign the agreement? If not, can he be held to the agreement to not discuss it?

      • Old Henry

        Morduin09:

Cain did not sign the agreement. It was signed by the attorney representing the Resturant Association – after CAin had left the Association.

I just heard on the radio that the agreement was signed in September of ’99. (9-99) Hmmmm.

      • professor

Sounds like the NRA kicked Cain’s rear, out the door. Then, they settled the case against them. That is probably why Cain doesn’t have details about the agreement. He was gone and not involved.

      • Karolyn

Sexual harrassment is determined by the victim. What is innocuous to one may not be the same to another. That is why men should know better than to flirt or tell dirty jokes or make sexual remarks to women they don’t know, especially in the workplace. As in muc of the world, we live in what is called a “rape culture” where women don’t get the respect they deserve and are STILL subservient to men. (as evidenced by the rate of sexual assault and comestic violence in this country) I work in this field and am more aware than the average person of just how much goes on in the US with regard to women being abused by men.

      • Morduin00

With all due respect Karolyn, what about the men that “ignore” comments, actions, or the style of dress from women who are above them in the corporate ladder because they would be ridiculed for making a complaint or think it is cool that a woman showed interest in them?

Sexual harassment goes both ways but is rarely reported by men when they are harassed by women in positions of power.

When I was in a Navy, I asked about that type of situation during a Tailhook stand-down and was told that women practice “sexual politics” and men practice “sexual harassment”. Typical BS.

When men and women are held to the same standards, then you will see alot of these accusations disappear.

Just as men need to shut their traps when they think they may say something inappropriate, women need to be cognizant of the way they look and behave that may bring those comments out.

And before you make the accusation, I don’t at any time believe a woman was “asking for it” when they are raped or harassed. However, there are steps they can take to mitigate the chances of those things occurring.

Oh, for Christs sakes Karolyn. True story. Guy says to a girl in the office on a Friday, So, where is the party this weekend? Her reply, In my pants, you wanna cum. Who harassed whom? Did he sue? No, but the gay guy in the next cube heard it and was offended. GET OVER IT. Everybody, get over it. Either stand up for yourself, or sit down and STFUp.

      • Patty

Whatever Karolyn. And when you tell those women, don’t go back to that control freak A Hole, where are you next week? Back at that same door, same situation on my tax dollar. You should see a dermatologist to get that “V” (victim)tatoo removed from your forehead.

      • Old Henry

I LOVE the Womens Movement Karolyn. Especially when I’m walking behind it…

      • Old Henry

        Patty:

“Did he sue? Nope.” I’ll bet he showed up for the party! LOL!

I have also noticed that we have all been mis-spelling the “H” word.

During the 90s the spelling was changed to herassed.

      • Patty

        OH Henry! That’s harassment!! :)

      • http://deleted Claire

karolyn–I remember years and years ago, a friend stopped by to watch me and some ladies bowl– the owner of the bowling alley came up and sat down by this friend. He told her would love to get in her pants–and she replied: Why? did you crap yours? What a comeback!! Crude, but we laughed for hours. It was hilarious. I had never heard such a comment.

      • Patty
      • Patty

Claire – Same story only in a bar. Guy said to his friends in front of the subject “Boy, would I like to get in her pants.” Her reply was “I already have 1 a** hole in there, why would I want another.”

      • JeffH

Claire & Patty… Excellant :) to you both!

      • Karolyn

wow, Patty, you’re a real sweetheart, aren’t you? You just don’t have a clue – like so many people who have answers for everything.

      • Karolyn

Morduin – Absolutely, men get sexuall harrasses and domestically abused, and we would support them just as much as we would a woman. I have heard several stories of men being raped. Of course, what man wants to admit to that?

      • Karolyn

Claire – That’s where it starts. Why do you think there is so much domestic and sexual assault in this country? If people would take the time to actually think about it, it is very logical.

      • http://deleted Claire

At the risk of sounding like a real prude, I think women sometimes “ask” for what they get, they are asking for the “wrong” type of attention. I see young girls waiting for the schoolbus and they look like sluts. Some women/girls are barely covered and leave nothing to the imagination. There is an older lady in my office that wears tops that reveal a lot of her cleavage. And I have heard the men make fun of her. I have to admit I like to dress and look attractive (even at my age) but it is always more intriguing to leave a little bit to the imagination. Why put everything you got on display? I like the feminine look, not the hard core way of dressing.

      • http://deleted Claire

And what about “Opinions are like a$$h—, everyone has one.”

      • http://deleted Claire

I am being a bad girl. Sorry.

      • Karolyn

Claire – No matter how anyone dresses, no one deserves to be sexually assaulted. That is taking the blame away from where it deserves to be – with the man. In essence, it’s saying that men can’t control themselves when faced with sexuality. It’s he way our society is. I had a friend who was a businesswoman and wore tight suits with very short skirts. She sold dental prosthetics and was very successful. Most women shied away from her, but she was my friend. I saw beyond the clothing. She was really quite a prude. You can’t judge a book by its cover. In France there are nude beaches, and their rape rate is lower than here. In the countries that are the least prudish, there is the least sexual assault.

      • JeffH

Karolyn, you seem to either miss or completely ignore the point that Claire was making. In your eyes, men are always guilty first and foremost. As a man, believe me when I say that women are just as guilty as men where sexual harrassement is concerned. I know first hand, flirty eyes, flirty smiles, showing a little more cleavage or a little more skin, suggestive conversation and even lying about pregnancies. Whether you’d admit it or not, It’s a two way street “darling”.

      • Buster the Anatolian

“Sexual harrassment is determined by the victim. What is innocuous to one may not be the same to another.”

Karolyn according to you any verbal interaction between two individuals is potentialy sexual harassment. According to you I cannot even say good morning to a person and let my eyes fall below the top of their head because it could be interprited as harassment.

      • libertytrain

yes, exactly, sexual harassment is in the eye of the purported “victim” – that’s what makes it kind of bogus.

      • Old Henry

I seem to remember hearing a report early in 2009 bout women having a harder time than men in the White House. However, it seemed to drop off the radar.

      • Patty

Why? Was Hillary trying to pick up women, again?

      • Rick

Probably for the same reason a female Chief Petty Officer I worked with was found to be having a harder time than the men on the base we worked… she got caught using a vibrator in the ladies head one day. Ended up not helping her career too much. And this was the same CPO that would get her panties all in a knot if a guy said anything that could be construed as sexual, obscene, or just plain inappropriate. Go figure.

      • Karolyn

Rick – Her using a vibrator was a personal issue and had nothing to do with how she felt about anything else.

      • Rick

Thank you Karolyn, because of you I’ve decided to quit cold turkey.

      • Bill Lee

Our founding Fathers did not endorse legalizing prostitution or drugs like R. Paul does. RP lies, He said he was 100% in line with the Bible. Here’s the ABC ref: http://abcnews.go.com/2020/Stossel/story?id=3970423&page=1
The Bible has clear guidelines for a reason. I have three sons. I want them to grow up in a country where they can learn right from wrong. I don’t need Lot’s wife for a president.
Cain on the other hand is a no nonsense leader who has a proven track record outside of Washington which counts for a lot more in my book than all the professional politicians vying for office and in office now.
This decades old crap being dredged-up matter nothing. It’s sole purpose is meant to derail and get our focus off of the goal of unseating Obama and claiming all three Houses in one year from now. If we respond to it we loose.

      • DaveH

Jesus hung out with a prostitute — Mary Magdalene. What is with you that you feel the need to involve yourself in victim-less crimes? Neither the prostitute nor the john is doing anything involuntarily.
And our founders didn’t say anything about drugs one way or the other because they believed in Freedom. Get it? Absence from Government meddling when somebody does nothing to harm another person.
It also seems strange to me that somebody who professes to be moral would condone military involvement in other countries who in no way have attacked the United States. Herman Cain is big into “National Security”. As if we don’t have enough, he wants more of it. Military involvement necessarily involves picking sides and killing people who have not attacked our country. Why is it wrong for people to murder people in a civilized society, but not wrong to kill them simply because some Government agency calls it War or a Military Action?
Another Cain thing is that he wants to conduct more rigorous anti-drug actions. What? We don’t have enough already? Many of the so-called religious people have no problem with paramilitary drug raids which often terrorize and even kill innocent victims, and for what? To save people from themselves? Or to prevent the possibility of them harming somebody else? So it’s okay to kill people because they Might cause harm to somebody else?
I think it’s time for all good religious people to actually practice their religions.
It’s time to get this country back to Freedom whether the control-freaks like it or not.

      • DaveH

It’s seems strange to me that I live by a more rigorous moral code than any religious people I’ve ever known, and I’m an Atheist. Go figure.

      • Thor

Although there is no Biblical proof Magdalene was a prostitute, your point is well-taken.

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Magdalene

      • Thor

I would also like to note, DaveH, how well you do using only one side of your brain. Think how well you could think once you have experienced the warm sensation of a bi-cameral religious experience that forms the bonding between both sides of the brain…enabling the clear thinker like you to tap into divine revelation.

      • DaveH

        Thor,
I was indoctrinated for 10 years in Catholic School. Logically, I could no longer accept the premises after I reached 18 years old, but still the fear that had been instilled in me by the deep propaganda lingered for years. Propaganda is a powerful thing. Who doesn’t want to believe that there is life after death? The alternative is pretty damn scary. And who doesn’t want to believe that there’s a supernatural being watching over us and protecting us from evil?
In fact it is a very similar thing to that which makes Liberalism easy to swallow. Who wouldn’t like Free money, an easy living, and a pain-free life?
        But it just isn’t reality.

      • Patty

Dave H – I live in MN. You wouldn’t believe how many of my friends are recovering Catholics! The land of 10,000 rehab centers too.

      • Caroline

Ron Paul isn’t for “legalizing” anything. He’s for getting the federal government out of the picture and letting the states make their own decisions on drugs. And the only reason prostitution is illegal is because the government can’t tax it! Two people having consentual sex isn’t illegal but if one person takes money for it it’s illegal? What about corporate America? Sleeping your way to the top? Getting a raise or a higher position in the company because you sleep with the boss? President Clinton and Monica Lewinski? This isn’t illegal! It’s no one’s business what someone else does in private — as long as it is not done in public and is not harming anyone else. The government needs to realize that and get out of people’s personal affairs.

As far as drugs, cigarettes and alcohol are not illegal and they are drugs! It’s also ok for the medical association to fill you full of morphine, vicodin, etc. in the name of “pain killers” but you can’t smoke pot. Now I do not take drugs of any kind — I also don’t smoke cigarettes, so I’m not arguing this for my own sake. The government finally realized that the “war on alcohol” called prohibition did not solve the problem and only made the illegal distribution of alcohol even more profitable (without the benefit of a tax on profits). When will they learn that the war on drugs is no different?

      • DaveH

        Well said, Caroline.

      • Thor

        Agreed…

      • ChristyK

Ron Paul doesn’t want to legalize prostitution or drugs, but he does want to obey the constitution. According to the constitution the federal government doesn’t have the authority to regulate those things (or 90% of the things it does). The constitution is very clear that there are a small number of enumerated powers given to congress. All others are reserved to the states or to the people. Ron Paul believes that the states can regulate drugs and prostitution, but the constitution does not give the legal authority to Congress to do so. Do you want a president that will do whatever he feels is right or do you want a president that will always obey the law? Look at Obama to see what happens when a president does whatever he wants. If regulation is really important, the states can regulate things.

On the subject of illegal drugs. I hate drugs. I don’t even take most legal drugs. I’d rather be in pain than take a pain killer that will space me out, but the war on illegal drugs have caused more problems than it has solved. If you look at the history of prohibition, people saw individuals misusing alcohol, so they banned it (they amended the constitution because they did not have the constitutional authority to do so). All of the people that misused alcohol found a way to obtain it. Terrible people took up the business because they could make tons of money on illegal alcohol. Many people were killed by those involved in the profitable alcohol trade. Crime got so bad that we quickly repealed the ban. Does this sound familiar?

      • Matt

        Marilyn,
You adhere to the great American way, convicted in the press without a hearing, by anonymous accusers, without undefined charges. Sounds like you are profoundly bias towards Rep Paul. Let’s at least wait for all the facts, not just what the drive-by media puts out!

      • DaveH

And it sounds like you are profoundly biased against Ron Paul, who the “drive-by” media tries their best to suppress. Why? What are they afraid of? Could it be that the media moguls are deathly afraid that they and their corporate cronies might have to compete on a level playing-field in the Free Market economy that Ron Paul advocates instead of keeping their positions of power by greasing the right political palms? Of course they are.

      • Patty

Dave H – I found this fishing, thought you might enjoy it. From Ron Paul’s 2008 run. You may have seen it before. I enjoyed it, hope you do to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=mdomRyWT_BI

Catchy tune, Patty. It reminded me of this guy:

Dave H – good one. Did you know that Robert Vaughn graduated from North High School, Mpls, MN?

      • eddie47d

Everyone knows it is happening but not which side is coming for you. That’s about as foggy as a river bottom in who it will be.

      • eddie47d

Excellent video Patty on the money bomb vs the Freedom bomb. “When will we ever learn” from…. Where Have All the Flowers Gone.

      • Caroline

Matt, is being “profoundly biased toward Paul” worse than being biased toward Cain or Romney or any other candidate? Are we “biased” because we BELIEVE that the candidate Ron Paul is the BEST candidate available? Are we biased because everything he has said for the past 30+ years has come true? Are we biased because he is RIGHT about the situation we face in this country? Are we biased because the media would like to ignore the issues as well as Ron Paul entirely? NO, we believe rightly that Ron Paul is what he says he is. There is nothing against him — in all the times he has run for president, the only bad thing anyone can say about him is his age — well, after his experience I see his age as a plus!!! As far as his stand on international defense, he and many others believe that our money would be better spent on defending this country’s borders. The government can molest all the people they want at airport terminals but that will not keep out terrorists that cross our Mexican border daily. Also, why do we not defend our Mexican border but have so much regulation to cross into or back from Canada? Do we have a problem with Canadians crossing into this country and taking our jobs? Selling our kids drugs? Going on welfare? Getting free education? Displaying the USA flag upside-down and burning it, then raising their own flag on US soil? This country needs to “mind it’s own business” literally — both defensively and economically and Ron Paul is the only candidate who is willing to take on the task.

      • Julius Lohr

Sorry Marilyn, but you’re an idiot! Why are Ron Paul devotees completely blind to this man’s borderline senility?

      • DaveH

And why are you completely blind to Ron Paul’s principled stands? No other candidate comes close to the Principles which Ron Paul exhibits. Certainly not Herman Cain.
Herman Cain is an establishment Republican, who like all establishment Republicans will keep on Growing our Leviathan Government until Freedom is just a long-dead rumor.

      • FreedomFighter

DaveH Im sorry to see in an above post you have lost your faith.

22 years ago I was an athiest, did whatever I wanted, had zero belief, nill, none. I thought believers primative fools.

Then in a routine operation, I died for several minutes, I have no words to justly describe the horror of what happened and what I have seen.

My life is now the opposite, firm belief, care for others, I know that I never want to goto that dark pit again.

I was almost OD’d on Sodium Pentathol once. I didn’t have a single thought in my head until 6 hours later when an orderly was jerking me around by assuming the identity of an old friend named Charlie. I guess I was talking in my sleep and he thought it was a good way to bring me out. I didn’t.

      • Old Henry

Let’s hope none of them are named Lilly, Flowers, or Lewinski…

      • Patty

      • JTB

you said it Marilyn he has no experience in politics so then he owes no one get it Marilyn no one! Whether he did what he’s accused of 20 years ago is history! God Clinton did the act right in the white house and got a slap on the hand now if he were a republican the libs would of had him thrown out. I’m not saying what Cain did was not serious but he didn’t even have sex he said somethings that were not appropriate. Back then those things met nothing! No candidate will be perfect so deal with it and get over yourself!

      • Matt Newell

To me that shows people who are looking for a payout. Three women stepped forward (but keep their names out of sight) and make accusations (don’t say what exactly what happened). Sounds like a trumped up charge to me.

    • Vic Bailey

If the TRUTH was known, Cain probably leaked the news himself to get his prediction to come true. He has worked with the Federal Reserve and that is the way they do business, fake the blame on everybody else but yourself! The Federal Reserve is the most crooked bunch of people on the face of the earth! Besides, a vote for Cain is a vote for the New World Order and the UN Agenda 21, he is judt another Nation Builder and a world policeman, which we can’t afford. He would be better off to go back to the Pizza job! Semper Fi.

      • r.p.

Very astute… The same thought crossed my mind. I believe Cain is playing us like a well worn fiddle. Which is exactly what the LSM & TPTB want. Cain couldn’t predict the financial collapse or the housing bubble, but was dead on with this harrassment debacle….VERY SUSPICIOUS!!! Ironically this was brought out at exactly the same time the election commitee began investigations into campaign fraud by the Cain Campaign camp. Hmmmmmm!

    • Old Henry

I truly do not understand all the hubbub about Mr. Cain. After the child-molesting, rapist, dick-for-brains in the 90s I would think the Herminator’s past would be an absolute resume enhancer.

I think Debbie that the American public is seeing thru this disgusting racism. The Cain campaign’s fund-raising has been more successful since the racist smear tactics began.

Back when Justice Thomas was being smeared by the racist Democraps we did not have the alternative media that exists today. Now we can get at the truth. We no longer need the LSM.

      • pacman

Forget the race thing….it’s a diversion used by Cain himself and Fox News. It’s all a diversion!! Let’s get to simple truths. Cain fumbled big time and he had plenty of time to prepare. So why did he fumble….because he comes from an executive level position where what he says rules….and he tries to carry that into the outside world….it’s then called arrogance and most are catching on. Aside from that….he should come out and publicly strongly urge the restaurant association to release the confidentiality agreements and the specifics of the allegations, and if he’s innocent then let the people decide. He hasn’t been vetted by anyone, so it’s time to let the people decide based on the facts of the case rather the everyone trying to play the race card in his defense which is really lame!!

      • Caroline

Why is it everytime we talk against either Obama or Cain it’s a race thing? If you vote for Cain, it’s a race thing. If you vote against Cain, it’s a race thing. We’re talking about ISSUES here people! Race has nothing to do with it. I don’t care about race. I don’t care whether or not Cain molested anyone or “made them feel uncomfortable.” What I care about are the issues. The only solution Cain has come up with is “9-9-9.” This will not solve our problems. And he doesn’t believe the Fed has any problems? He believes as he told Ron Paul, just “ask them” about what they do and they’ll answer. Like that is going to happen! Just look at how Bernanke “answers” questions brought up by Congress. He believes he doesn’t have to answer anything or account for anything. After all, the Fed is not a government-run organization. It’s a private corporation that prints money, then “loans” it to the government for a fee! What a scam! Maybe the “Occupy” groups should occupy the Fed instead of Wall Street and all the other towns they currently protest in. After all, the Fed is nothing but another big corporation making huge profits!!!!

    • moebears

Regardless of whether on not Cain did this, I don’t care. He is a Fed insider, and status quo. Nothing will change if he becomes pres.

    • Void1972

      debbie gore or al gore
Its all the same to me! Take the American public off the true issues and we are where we belong! You dumb morons!

    • Patrick Timmel

Cain isn’t the victim of a high tech lynching like Clarence Thomas. Rather he is a womanizing bum who created victims by his untoward advances. Someone doesn’t buy off an accuser of these actions unless they are true. Fortunately for Cain, though, he wasn’t left out in the cold. He did manage to wrangle a threesome with the Koch brothers for whom he is their bought and paid for whore. His 9-9-9 plan (translation “mine, mine, mine”) would be a disaster for working class Americans and another unwarranted gift for the immoral 1%.

    • Lil

RE: in my view all the rest are your typical ‘politicians’.

Wow, what a statement. Are you completely blind about Dr. Ron Paul ?
You are doing now exactly what the media is doing for such so long.
And by the way, how do you know that Mr. Cain is so innocent after all?
Didn’t we pay enough for Mr. Clinton’s “I did not not have sex with that woman” investigations and embarrassment? Do we need more at this time when the country is in such a crisis?

9-9-9 is a stupid idea which can’t make someone president, just like that.

Mr. Ron Paul is an scientist, a politician, an historian and studies real economics. His morality is impeccable and his views were reflected for years and years in his votes in congress.

To make him part of “all the rest are typical politicians” shows your complete ignorance.

Get educated please. We really need Dr. Ron Paul for president, or this country goes down the drain.

    • Mildred Jacobs

I am an 86 year old thorough bred 4th generation white Alabamaian. Herman Cain is a thoroughbred American; he is thoroughbred Black. He came up in poverty in segretated GA. He makes sense. He recognizes that he has been blessed to live in the USA where he has THIS chance. I would vote for him. I am concerned about his connection with the Fed.

    • ron

Chip; believe me neither Herman Cain nor Clarence Thomas were victims of high or low-tech lynching. Emitt Till was a victim of a lynching. Thousands of black men were the victims of that barbaric act. The most recent act was the Texas case some years ago when the black man was dragged behind a pick up truck. It is important you and others know this because it is apparent Clarence Thomas did not know it then and Herman Cain does not know it now. That both of them Thomas years ago and Cain now are being accused of being horny old men who were willing to be unfaithful to their wives yet willing to lie about it. Or as Newt would say they are being vetted. For you Chip Wood to write about liberals playing the race card well, so far the only one playing the race card is Cain himself. He who said racism cannot hold a person back now days. Clarence Thomas accuser was black so how the hell could he even cough that statement up was disturbing to me. Hell if he (C. Thomas) had been in the loop he would have known that no one was going to bother him (least not conservatives) for a little black on black crime.

Herman Cain has blamed everyone from Rick Perry to Don Vito Corleone. And yes he has played the race card himself as well as Fox the idiots they call news people. So two white women say he is a sexual predator and it’s racism? Anita Hill says C. Thomas harassed her sexually and it’s a high tech lynching. Give me a break. Next he will blame Karl Rove who by the way did a bang up job on John MaCain in 2004. You and others can use Herman Cain to cleanse your souls I’ll pass and look upon him for what he shows
