Pundits Speculate Whether Perry Was Drunk, Drugged During Speech

Republican Presidential hopeful Rick Perry gave a speech in New Hampshire last Friday that pundits have described as being at times incoherent, over-the-top and bizarre; and the video is currently making its rounds on YouTube.

A giddy Perry spoke to an influential conservative group called Cornerstone in a flamboyant tone and acted as if he was privy to a secret that the rest of the audience was missing out on.  At one point, soliciting campaign contributions, the candidate suggested that donations be made in gold.

“Write your checks. Gold is good, if you’ve got any in the back yard, cause, you know, if they print any more money over there in Washington the gold’s gonna be good,” he said.

Some, like the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, have speculated whether Perry was drunk or drugged during his speech, or if he is unwittingly tiptoeing into Howard Dean “yeahwwwaaa” territory.

Perry also said that he loved the New Hampshire “live free or die” State slogan likening it to the Alamo war cry “victory or death.”

“You know we’re kind of into those slogans, man. It’s like, live free or die victory or death. Bring it!” The candidate shouted.

A Perry spokesman responded to inquiries about the candidate’s performance from the Huffington Post saying, “The Governor is passionate about the issues he talks about.”

    If Perry was in an Australia pub hotel the bar person would have to stop serving him alcohol under under RSA Responsible Service of Alcohol in State legislation otherwise both the barman and hotel could face severe penalties and the police waiting outside would beath testing him and if drunk over the limit he would be fined .However Perry would be still considered to be fit enough to continue to gamble his house away in our beer and spirits serving pokie machine establishment. Having said that I’m now needing your help with arguments to extend the responsibility on the hotels to ban gambling whilst under the influence. Now I realise some of you Libertarians would be against my lobby proposals and so will the beer barons but if it is unsafe for drunks to drive motor vehicles, why is it ok for drunks to keep gambling? Would you go to a school examination or go to your drunken broker for financial advice? So I would really appreciate any help with sensible arguments I can use when i contact the media and the politicians to amend their inconsistent State laws.

    The MSM picked and chose short snippets from this speech. I have watched the entire speech, noting that it was very good. It certainly got rousing cheers and applause from his audience! After you have watched the entire 27 minutes, then you may make comments.

    Common ploy used against high profile & no profile people — throw the accusation out when it’s too late for the accuser to prove it & too late for the target to disprove it.

To formulate a true opinion of whats going on turn off your TV, read books such as Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged, and take note of how our so-called leaders attack each other like spoiled little children at the school playground. Don’t vote Liberal of Conservative as those ideas have been sold out on both sides by the self-serving ruling class showing us two faces but delivering the same result. Vote for the Constitution of this country. Vote for Ron Paul the only real American running for office.

      Well , I agree with you Joe. ~ You can be two day ahead of the National Tv news in 1/4 the time if you simply read, while accepting the notion that each of us carries our own bias in spite of ourselves.

      Read what interest you and not whats being trotted before you, explore , ask questions , look for “your” answers.

      DaveH is probably ‘one’ of the best that you will see and hear the most from here on these forum. While he does offers a strong bias, it is constant and understood.

      But as far as Ayn Rand, ~ a great fiction novel writer and deliciously crazed. She was a hard nut to crack and best left for persons in their forming years, people carrying a lite social load, for students that are learning “how to think” as she offers the reader confusion, a lot of soul searching, a “inward” journey to self awareness. “Who are you and what does that mean to me?”, “What is my responsibility to your presence?” All good question but the answers does not come quickly in just the reading of a novel.

      Without a strong grasp and background some anchoring in other teaching, Ayn Rand work could easily create a generation of narcissistic monsters. In fact, it has! I have the utmost for Ayn Rand and consider her work volatile and dangerous in the wrong hands of the impressionable and unprepared, persons the expect the right answer to complex human interaction to be available for the mere reading of it.

      The bible is hard enough to digest, taking years to assimilate, if ever. Ayn Rand work takes much less time, but still it’s years. She simple took great pleasure toying with peoples minds attacking preconceived notions of self.

    I didn’t see the entire speech, but the parts I did see I liked and thought was funny. Was he hammered on either booze, pills, or exhaustion from the campaign? Who knows. I thought he was funny even though I disagree with him on almost all of the issues. People aught to cut him some slack. This social liberal does.

        If this is true, then why was he elected Govermor of Texas and re-elected? What would you say about the voters of the great state of Texas about their choice of leaders? He may or may not be a great orator, but it is the points he is trying to make that are important, not the fluency of his speech. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

      Raggs, when you are drunk and or hight the telepprompter is not much help! In fact Perry is long pass help. Perry probably should retire to Texas buy him a tiny ranch with a horse and a couple of cows and he might be able to handle that, if he could stay off the booze,and or pills!

    The other thing I believe in very strongly, is if you do not believe in the United States Constitution, then you should leave and do not let the door hit you in butt on the way out. If you do not like it why are you here? There are other places to live, that are more socialistic,and would seem to suit you better.

    Please tell us all why you come from all over the world to live in America, if you do not like what we are? Our Constitution is why we are what and who we are. So do not come here illegally, or legally. You are simply a burden on the rest of us.

    In regards to Perry, he is too soft on Islam, and way too soft on immigration. There are several other things that are not very positive about Perry. He is also part of the Bilderberg managery. In general, Americans are such foolish voters. They literally go back and forth between the two parties. When they have the opertunity to put someone in office that is not part of the problem, they will not vote that direction. There have been many independents that would have done a good job, but Americans always vote for more of the status quo types. Always. Ron Paul, is the best choice followed by maybe Bachmann. Everyone says they want change, real change, well there it is, and it is by the United States Constitution.

    “The best candidate is Herman Cain”!?!?!? Tony were you partying with Rick Perry just before Perry’s speech? Cain was a bigshot with the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank – yeah, the same PRIVATE banking cartel that is bringing America to it’s knees! In response to Ron Paul’s strong suggestion that the Fed. be audited, Cain responded “just get on the phone and call up the Fed. and ask them what they’re doing” how naive for guy running for president. Cain is an insider, he’ll keep the status quo chugging right along. RP and HC are worlds apart regarding political views. Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate with knowlegde to steer this country back to it’s founding priciples. It’s simple, good honest to god freedom!!!! Oh… Tommy Phillips, as far the “live free or die” state – New Hampshire no longer embraces that motto for if they did Ron Paul would be polling in first place.     Rick Perry at best is semi-literate to at worst, he can barely complete a rudimentary sentence. His speech in New Hamsphire is indicative of this. He needs basic grammatical training. The best candidate is Herman Cain. Sure, he needs to brush up on his foreign affairs policies and polish is 9-9-9 plan. However, with a little work plus making Ron Paul his V.P. I think he could go a long way. Thanks!!

      Rick Perry has been my governor of Texas for years, and I can tell you that he is not illiterate nor is he stupid. He is not what you woukld call a “seasoned” politician. I like Herman Cain also, notice you already have the Demorats and Nazi news attacking him, but I would prefer to have Allen West as his VP. We not only have to beat Obumer, we have to beat the George Soros owned alphabet progressive liberal news medias, and we will. 2012 cannot get here soon enough.

When the Congresswoman from Arizona was shot, Andrea Mitchell was the first out of the shoot to point the finger at the tea party, who had absolutely nothing to do with it. They pointed the finger at the tea parties when the Black Caucus said we spit on them and called them the “n” word, but even after someone offered money to anyone that could prove this…nothing came forward…why? Because all of it was lies. If Gov Perry is misrepresenting himself as a Christian, the Lord Himself will take care of him. He is still heads and shoulders above the muslim that is sitting in the oval office right now.     Imagine….. Hypocrisy, character assassination, high tech lynching and the word contemporaneous being thrown around when all else has failed to protect oneself, from their dubious distinction of moral right. If we didn’t have the so called mainstream news media; with their agile news pundits practicing their oratory skills and those so called news journalist; all reading from their only friend, their Teleprompters.

    Doing all in their power to cast an ugly light on this or that politico or character of their disfavor; with their clever innuendo and those practiced oratory skills dripping with the dubious venom of deceit and hatred delivered with their intent to destroy any and all not in their camp or in tune with their notion of what’s good for America, I guess we would be at a loss…but what a delightful loss.

    Imagine…this character assassination is being played out on 24/7 stage; by the so called mainstream news media without so much as a single piece of hard evidence, or even a named source of truth, to support their claims of wrong doing, by their intended victim. In my youth, this sort of journalism was considered propaganda, when vile lies and innuendo were used to marginalize any and all not in step or tune with their ideology, or their ideas of how the camp should be run.

    Imagine….I just wonder how much more this generation will have to endure, before taking a deep breath of honesty while looking into the abyss of immoral decay and the morass we Americans seem to be courting with our need for our a quick fix. If it were not so hypocritical and pretentious, it would comical.

    Imagine…. we all have to suffer the foolishness of folks whose gaze into their mirror of choice, somehow changes their warts to their notion of attractive birthmarks. Ain’t life grand in Pixie Hollow? WFR

      Have you ever seen the cartoons from the newspapers in the 1800s and early 1900s regarding politicians? Nothing has changed except that today we really are a little more civilized, actually.

        The cartoons of the 1800′s were great for the most part. The cartoons of that time cannot be compared with the videomania of today. Newspaper cartoons, mostly hand drawn, were the only video available in the 1800′s. The means of communication of a particular time should be judged only on the basis of its own time. The videomania of the 21st century is unique and stands alone. Let it be judged only by the standards of today in the way that it will lead democracy either to its doom or to greater heights.

      Hey-don’t cut him short. He was responding to the notion that he was too stiff. You shouldn’t judge someone for that. He has a very big job in Texas and he does it WELL. I live in Dallas so I know what he’s made of. The presidential bull ring is tough. It demands that a President be strong, but human.

      Like what we have in the White House now?

      Perry is good at what he does, believe me. He’s honest to a fault, competent, thorough, means what he says and stands by his word.

      These people who try to use the HPV vaccine issue against him are wrong. If I had a daughter growing up today, I would more than likely give her the vaccine.

      You have noticed the level of promiscuity today among teenagers and even younger? This vaccine is very effective against the HPV virus.

      I’m all for it if it will help to save lives from cancer.

        Ya know? I agree that you can not please everyone. So don’t even try. After a lot of years of Sales & Management the hardest lesson I had to learn was to not even mention the competition. They do what thry do If the competeition is brought up just mention “I have my beliefs” and they are, as I have stated——. My Sales Reping business took me to New York for a couple of weeks a month where I worked with major department store and my reps worked small stores on the road. My best sales person was an ex-buyer and she would call buyers and ask them abiut their recent shipment abd she would ask them, “did you get it?, is it selling? do you want some more? the point being, if it is selling the customer is making money, and so are we. When I left the Apparel Reping business I told everyone that I was retired. I was not retired I was ELIMINATED. When first fabric production and then the sewing was sent to Asia and entire industry was basiclly eliminated. My point? You can thank the UNIONS
        for raising wages and getting the production, etc sent over seas.
        Result? Lost jobs. Lost tax revenue. Want more? Consider the Airline industry. The Unions Struck — Eastern, Pan Am, Braniff, TWA. Result? Lost jobs and tax revenue. So today the municipalities have less revenue for services, police / fire men / teachers, etc and damn if the unions aren’t want each of them to strike for hirer wages.
        So, maybe a good platform would be to get import taxes and our wages more competitive. Which would bring back the jobs that have been shipped offshore.
