The Dream Team

October 27, 2011 by

The Dream Team

During the run-up to the 2008 Democratic Presidential nomination, the relationship between the competing Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama campaigns plumbed impressive depths, culminating in now-Secretary of State Clinton’s poorly worded intimation that Obama might not serve out his entire term.

But President Obama managed to bury the hatchet (although perhaps not in the precise spot for which he was aiming). The two camps put aside their differences with Obama’s nomination of Clinton to the Nation’s top diplomatic post. With Clinton relegated to the State Department, Obama could focus on his top priorities: blaming others for his failures, remaining “unaware” of malfeasance in his cabinet, grubbing for cash with Lady Gaga and playing golf.

Nonetheless, with America waking to the reality that Obama makes Jimmy Carter look like Andrew Jackson, Obama better start bringing his A game. Otherwise, he and Hillary can discuss what might have been over coffee in the Berkeley poli-sci department. Meanwhile, I thought it might be fun to imagine what might be. Therefore, I humbly present my ideal version of the leadership of the nation post-2012.

I did not include the entire cabinet in my musings. On one hand, I suspect most of you share my opinion that the Office of the United States Trade Representative can be filled by almost anyone who recognizes that prostrating ourselves before the ChiComs is a bad idea. On the other hand, in my utopian Presidency, there is no Department of Education, so the Secretary thereof can go back to colluding with teachers’ union thugs.

Meet the Presidential ticket: Cain/Paul 2012. That’s right, I said Herman Cain and Ron Paul, not the reverse. Cain’s close ties to questionable institutions like the Federal Reserve will be reined in by his close proximity to the brilliant Paul, and Cain will present a much more electable face than Paul, who is less palatable to moderates. Cain also possesses a certain presence which Paul — who looks every one of his 76 years — lacks. Additionally, Cain is better suited to the diplomatic obligations of the Presidency. I understand that many of you are die-hard Paul supporters and will, therefore, curse a blue streak at my conjecture. To you, I say: Think of it as a co-Presidency. It could hardly be worse than the last one; Hillary isn’t involved.

Serving at the pleasure of President Cain and Vice President Paul will be the following:

White House Chief of Staff: I could go the same route as Obama did and select a spectacularly profane man who looks like an extra from a zombie film. However, Rahm Emanuel is busy in Chicago, and Carl Paladino would scare off all the interns. I suggest the anti-Rahm: Representative Eric Cantor (R-Va.). Cantor is bright, direct and reliably conservative. He possesses the same grit and determination that Emanuel displays, with neither the crippling liberalism nor the visage of Nosferatu’s younger brother.

Secretary of State: Ambassador John R. Bolton. Bolton possesses diplomatic acumen forged through years of foreign service, and he is specifically versed in the worst of growth industries: weapons of mass destruction. As an added bonus, Democrats so abhor the man for his unwavering belief in American greatness in the global arena that they filibustered his U.N. nomination, forcing President Bush to recess-appoint him. That has to be a plus in any conservative’s estimation.

Secretary of the Treasury: Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.). With both Paul and his father close to the top of the Administration, the American economy will benefit from the presence of not one, but two Horatios at the bridge. Senator Paul is the type who would assign his Secret Service protection detail to keeping a 24/7 watch on the national checkbook. Something tells me he would also revoke the Fed’s visitor passes. At the very least, I’ll bet he can navigate the logical labyrinth that is the TurboTax® software.

Secretary of Defense: former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. If you thought Donald Rumsfeld was tough, say hello to his iron-willed sister. Rice has already proved she knows no fear, and her presence in the Administration will make our more-organized enemies (think the ChiComs and whoever is in charge of the increasingly unhinged Russian Federation) remember their place. Rice engenders universal respect, which is a powerful resume addition when dealing with both military leaders and the lowest-ranking service members.

Secretary of Homeland Security: Joe Arpaio, the sheriff of Maricopa County in Arizona. Give Sheriff Joe six months, and the 38th Parallel in Korea will have to hand over the Most-Heavily-Militarized-Border-on-the-Planet belt. If Arpaio gets the nod, buy stock in electric fencing and anti-personnel mine manufacturers. And gone will be the days of airport security personnel who are fat guys with mustard stains on their shirts. Instead, the guys at the metal detector will be Navy SEALs who will look twice at the dude wearing the dishdasha, but won’t molest your 4-year old.

Secretary of the Interior: former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. We’ve all seen the helicopter-coyote-hunting videos. Who better to handle the trials of wildlife policy than someone who has actually seen wildlife in places other than documentaries? As for resource exploitation: “Drill here, drill now.” Yes, ma’am, Madame Secretary.

Attorney General: For the nation’s top cop, I initially considered former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. However, his views on the 2nd amendment don’t necessarily jibe with mine, and that’s a deal breaker. I want an Attorney General who is tough on crime, tough on terrorism, tough on immigration and will pursue real bad guys without wasting time and tax dollars on harassing the enemies of the President and his cronies.  I wonder if former Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez would consider returning to the Justice Department?

Secretary of Health and Human Services: former Senator Bill Frist (R-Tenn.). He’s a doctor, not a lawyer, which means he’s head and shoulders above anyone associated with Hillarycare, Obamacare or any of the other socialist systems the Democrats seem to have lifted from the let’s-be-just-like-Cuba playbook. Judging by his performance during the regrettable Terri Schiavo affair, he’s also capable of delivering diagnoses via photograph and video. All right, that’s silly; but it’s no sillier than letting the ambulance-chasers take control of the people waiting for the ambulances.

Secretary of Agriculture: Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels. Daniels possesses real executive experience at the Federal level as the former Director of the Office of Management and Budget. He’s the Governor of a grain and farm belt State. In addition, he stood up to the Scientologists, which has no bearing on his potential effectiveness as Agriculture Secretary, but it does mean he’s not big with the Hollywood crowd. That must count for something.

Secretary of Labor: Raymond J. LaJeunesse Jr. Who? Vice President and Legal Director of the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation, that’s who. In the Cain/Paul Administration, the focus will be on productive and working Americans, not union thugs. It’s about damned time someone sat down in the Secretary’s chair who knows that Taft-Hartley isn’t a prep school in New England.

Secretary of Veterans’ Affairs: How many of you were even aware that Secretary of Veterans’ Affairs is a cabinet-level post? The way the Democrats treat the military, I suspect Secretary Eric Shinseki spends a fair amount of time polishing his medals. Let’s replace him with the war hero whom the Democrat-controlled Senate promised not to reconfirm as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff: Retired Gen. Peter Pace. As the old sage says: Send in the Marines.

I am aware that I left a few cabinet posts unaccounted for. Some were excluded for lack of space. Others didn’t make the cut because President Cain and Vice President Paul took the proverbial axe to their departments. Who needs an Ambassador to the U.N. after we evict the U.N. from its cushy Upper East Side digs? And with the Cain/Paul Administration wresting control of the Nation’s education from the grasping paws of bureaucratic functionaries, the Department of Education is rendered as useful as Joe Biden at a Mensa conference.

You’re all welcome, as always, to offer your own suggestions. Mr. Livingston doesn’t delete even the remarkably absurd remarks from the comments section below. After all, this isn’t Dailykos.com. I am aware that many of you will take umbrage with some of my choices. Keep in mind, mine is a somewhat utopian concept of what government might look like after 2012. Think of it as hope… for a change.

@ Thomas B….are you kidding? Mitt Romney’s biggest campaign contributors are the BIG BANKS….DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!! More sell outs. They are all sell outs except RON PAUL..the last true statesman!

    • JeffH

mark, mark, mark…I thought you were going to delete this website?
      Bye, bye!

      • DaveH

I don’t get it. I thought Mark was a flaming Liberal. Is this maybe a different Mark?

      • mark

Everything I stated are what Ron Paul believes in….So Liberal…You can slap any name on it but….I support Constitutionalism

      • DaveH

Are you talking about this particular article, or past articles that you’ve commented on? Because Ron Paul is for Free Markets — you know, Capitalism. In the past you’ve not presented yourself as being for Capitalism.

      • DaveH

But if you’re changing, great, I applaud you for that.

  • mark

I am going to delete this website all together. The thought of a FED insider, dough slinging, double talker becoming President makes me sick to my stomach. For this site to say elect Cain is irresponsible!!! Cain has worked for the FED for 20yrs. I thought the responsible reporting duties were to DO YOUR HOMEWORK before writing on the issue.

  • Alex Frazier

Ben, I don’t disagree in general with your opinion on the winning ticket. Cain/Paul might be more electable than Paul/Cain due to the unfortunate fact that people are stupid and would vote for someone due to a handsome face or because of name recognition. Heck, there are people on these threads/blogs who are clearly politically active, and even they prove themselves to be uneducated. So while voting based on popularity isn’t the wisest thing to do, your plan has some merit. After all, 9-9-9 got Cain to the top of the polls, while Paul, rather than adding an extra tax, plans to get rid of the one we already have by shutting down the IRS and getting rid of income tax (as well as capital gains tax, the death tax, etc.), and yet, we’ve still haven’t had the privilege of seeing him have his day in the sun, except in the Iowa poll when he was second place and only one percent behind Bachman, which the media promptly dismissed.

But make no mistake, Ron Paul is the only candidate who is tested and tried, who has been consistent and constitutional, and who wants to restore this country to what it was. He’s the only one who actually wants to restore full freedom to the citizens of the this country.

I would vote for a Cain/Paul ticket if that was my option, but I have every intention of voting for Paul in the primary and contributing towards a Paul/? ticket instead.

    • Linda

Yes, Ron Paul has proven himself to the people. A man of his word and follows the Law of the Land. What more could you want in a leader? Please open your eyes to the false choices we the people have previously made. Age is wisedom, knowledge, experience and respect! If anyone can find anything dishonorable about Ron Paul, I would like to know.

  • Pat Bright

It is hell getting old. The best and brightest I have known are all deceased. But, the best and brightest currently available are Newt Gingrich/ Ron Paul.I like Cain, but I want a President with experience in handling DC, not pizza pies. I concur with your other choices.

  • Thomas B

You forgot Michelle Bachmann who is a true American, who has great faith in God and is a true patriot. She knows what our country is all about. You forgot Mitt Romney whose business expertise will quickly re-jump start the economy. We need strong Americans with red blood. We must erase any trace or seed of liberal/commie element and exterminate them once and for all!

    • eddie47d

I think flip flopper Romney was deliberately left out.Bachmann would be the Joe Biden of the Republican Party (foot in mouth disease).

      • http://Personalliberty Tony

        To eddie47d:
Actually Eddie, Joe Biden has more brains than Michelle ButtHead and that’s not saying much. Thanks!!

      • http://bellsouth.net Oakley Mann

Tony, Biden is a dumb mutt, period. He is so dumb that he is dangerous. He would not have any problem taking away our free speech or anything else because he doesn’tunderstand. If he is asked a question about a lie he has told, and then stutters and stammers trying to uphold the lie, then finally gets mad and stomps off muttering and feeling ill used, and finally tries to see if the reporter broke any laws or rules so as to punish the reporter any way he could, that is a dangerous man because he is so stupid.
Michelle Bachmann is far and above Mutt Joe’s level as far as smarts.

    • MSgranny

Romney = flip flop, flip, flop
Plus he has no idea what it is like in the world of working men/women.

    • Rhondar

Israel comes first with Michelle….divided loyalties are not needed anymore

  • T. Clancy

Love the article, had me chuckling out loud a few times, and the choices, though I wish there were a place for Newt. His knowledge is too precious to go untapped and unused. Of Newt, Ron Paul, and Cain, Cain probably has the best chance on the “national” stage at the top of a ticket. After Cain/Paul change Washington, they can re-name the Republican Party and disenfranchise all those moderates to go find their own roost.

    • DaveH

Except Cain isn’t going to change anything. At least not for the better. What part of former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City do people not get? Cain is an insider. We can expect nothing from him in the direction of us gaining our Freedom back. He is an Establishment Republican in Black Sheeps’ clothing.

    • Rhondar

Newt is an embarrassment….he got let go as speaker of the house for ethics charges. The Heritage Foundation called him the biggest traitor to the republican party and a Clinton enabler.

  • Dan

Nope, cant get on board with that idea at all. Cain simply is not presidential material and is out of touch with the common man. Ron Paul is the only one who has the qualifications to be commander in chief. he’s got my vote. If he doesn’t get elected, well, don’t blame me when the sh!t hits the fan.

  • fiscalsoundbiteme

bachman trump! aka slice n dice! think about it!!! The rest of the cabinet makes good sense…esp Sherif Joe!~

  • Don

Ben, I whole heartily applaud your candidates. I am writing them down and will have the list with me when I go to vote. These are choices I know I can live with and during their term America will become the country we all know and love.

    Thank you Ben!!

    • Alex Frazier

You don’t vote the cabinet. The president chooses them.

    • Lost in Paradise

Hmmmm, can’t think for yourself? Aye, I rest my case.

  • Jiles

Newt/Cain would be a better ticket!!

    • Patriot Diva

Sorry but Newt is a NWO guy. He’s a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He’s a smart man to be sure, but he supports the New World Order.

    • Lost in Paradise

Ding Dong, Ding Dong, Bing Bong you missed the target! Too bad so sad.

  • http://www.easyinvest.co.za peter

Nice try Ben. Personally I stay with what I said before. The candidates make one stare in to space in disbelief, Between the occupant of the white house and the contenders there is not one worthy of the title President Of The United States. The present occupant shames the Presidency! Still waiting for the FBI to arrive. I think that’s them at the door now. Got to go! Catch you guys!

    • bp

PETER: Wake up! If we don’t evict the current occupant, we won’t have a country to call home in four more years! PLEASE!

  • Rose

    I agree Bob

Having more to do with “birds of a feather flocking together” then brilliance, I would think.

Little question to this illusion of brilliance when applied to self.

Lofty platitudes superseded only by arrogance is Crystal’s
stock and trade offered up in unlimited supply as he speaks of humble opinions.

There is not a humble bone in Ben Crystal’s body as he champions subversion under the guise of personal freedoms in defense of corporate masters and the predatory interest of middlemen.

  • Suzanne

I don’t like Cain either, because of his close ties with the Fed. He’d probably be willing to allow lobbyists to infringe on the Senate and Congress as they do now. Paul has never taken money from Big Pharma, Big Food, Big Agri, Big Biz and never will. That’s great in my book.

    • bp

S: Haven’t trusted Cain since he said he would “change up a little” the ‘Hail to the Chief’ because it’s “traditional”! We need to go back to our Constitution & Founding Fathers’ principles!

  • Fox

Personally, I like your selections with one exception; US Navy Seals are far too valuable to waste standing in an inspection line.

I would suggest using “US Army rapid deployment force troopers” that we don’t need anyway, since we have always had the very best rapid deployment force in the United States Marine Corps.

As for “racial profiling”, what ever happened to the phrase, “If one walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and is seen in the company of other ducks, one must assume it’s a duck.”

    Semper Fi, Mac……..

    • MSgranny

Since all terrorist acts have been done by Muslims, why not just deport them? Then we would not need anyone feeling us up at airports or on highways, proms, ball games etc.

      • Dan

Timothy McVeigh was not a muslim. Dangerous to presuppose that only muslims are capable of terrorist attacks.

      • MSgranny

I stand corrected. Now you can KMA!

      • DaveH

Don’t forget Janet Reno and her terror attacks on the Waco children.

      • JeffH

…and the Weavers at Ruby Ridge in Idaho…

      • moebears

MSgranny obviously does not like to be corrected.

      • bp

Dan; Yes & no. Not all “are Muslim”, but McVeigh & other non-Islamists aren’t trying to import Sharia Law & grow up other terrorists. It’s about loyalty & patriotism. Mosques need to go, too.

    • Lost in Paradise

      Semper Fi! LMAO!

  • voteright2012

I believe you have a commendable approach. I take issue with “Cain’s close ties to the Fed”; Cain was the civilian (non-bank) head of the Kansas City Fed — whose most prominent action (as far as I know) is to host the Jackson Hole Conference. Re: Treasury I like Steve Forbes; he will take the 9-9-9 and morph it into a growth oriented Flat Tax. Sheriff Arpaio — a brilliant choice for Homeland Security — concurrently with securing the border he can eliminate TSA and put profiling as the choice for airline security. For Education I would like to suggest Dr. Larry Arn (of Hillsdale College) with a mandate that he close down the the department and return education responsibility to the States and Parents. For HUD I would suggest Star Parker (the founder of CURE — Center for Urban Renewal and Education). She would also have a mandate to shut down that department and put in place a strong state and local influence for cleaning up the inner cities; in other words get the Feds and Slum Landlords like Tony Rezko out of the picture. I would like Sen. Coburn for Health & Human Services; and Gov. Palin for Energy again with a mandate to make the US energy independent and close down the department in 4 years.

    • ChristyK

I like your list better than Ben’s.

    • Stickwoman Red

My Dream Team for the next Administration would be Bachmann as Pres.; Santorum as VP; Gingerich as Sec’y of State; Guilani as Att’y General; Ron Paul Speaker of the House; Cain Sec’y of Commerce; Palin Sec’y of Energy, Romney Sec’y of Treasury; General Petraeus, Sec’y of Defense; Hoekstra Sec’y of Homeland Security and if we could get Bill Bennett out of retirement, back as Sec’y of Education.

      • Rhondar

Goody…then we can have more wars

  • Ruth

I thought you were a freedom-loving, constitutionalist…but I guess I was wrong. We don’t have to vote for a ‘slick dressing, media pampered front man or woman with no original ideas of their own’ just a liberty-minded genius who can get us out of this mess on all fronts (economic, foreign policy and morally-minded = Ron Paul), right? Right?!! Where is it written that we have to give up our standards to win over those on the dark side?

    • Jimbo

Ruth, I agree. It is the “lesser of the two evils” mentality that has us where we are. A cabinet full of neocons, sprinkled with a taste of Pauls will not work. We need to stand by our principles.

    • DaveH

Ben has leaned towards the military state, Ruth, ever since I’ve been reading his articles on Personal Liberty.

  • terry

I read the above comments, equating Nazism to your article. They are very wrong and you are very right. Ron Paul is who we need to get this Country back to the greatness it once had. Cain, I am unsure of but, with Paul in the mix, I would vote for him.

    • MSgranny

I agree. A Cain/Paul ticket would win in a landslide against Obama.

    • DaveH

      Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Cain is dangerous to our Freedom. Wake up, read his issues page. That man is no Government Shrinker.

  • Thomas

Apparently, Ben, from that list, you’ve stacked the deck with a lot of murdering neocon warmongers. I doubt either of the Pauls would ever consider joining such an administration.

Homeland Security and the whole police-state apparatus needs to be completely dismantled, the Patriot Act repealed, and our fundamental liberties restored. This is not the team to achieve that. It is the polar opposite.

    • Jimbo

      Touche

    • Rhondar

      BRAVO THOMAS !!!! YOU ROCK

  • Mike V

With the exception of Newt’s name,I see only arguments against the choices. No one has offered their choices/substitutions. At this rate there is no party combination anyone will be satisfied with. What happened to “Bring complaints but bring alternative solutions as well”? It is a dying art.

    • Dagney

Actually, any one of the candidates vying to supplant the Marxist in Chief will be an improvement. So, it doesn’t really matter WHO does it, just that it DOES happen.

      • DaveH

Not so, Dagney. If we had elected McCain, for instance, it probably would have been worse for us because he would have grown Government more slowly, less perceptively. And it would have been more likely that the people wouldn’t have awakened as they have thanks to Obama.
We need to avoid any candidates who aren’t going to do the necessary things to shrink our Gargantuan Government. Otherwise it will just keep growing. We no longer have the luxury of allowing any further growth of Government without kissing our Freedom goodbye permanently.

      • Dagney

This is 2010, not 2008. The point is that the people are AWAKE. I actually think that electing BO to office was one of the best things that EVER happened to this country in the last 100 years. Now they actually see what the communist takeover of the democrat party looks like. But, even if we get a McCain re-do now, he wouldn’t be able to get away with the crap that he would have starting in 2008. I repeat, ANYONE would be better that BO.

    • http://www.keysinsurance.com Linda

I wish Donald Trump would reconsider running.

      • bp

Lind; Yes, that’s who I was missing! Donald Trump has international business experience; we need him to receive an appointment as well.

      • Rhondar

        Trump is a crook.

      • JTB

Trump is a crook? YOU want to see a full fledged crook? He lives in the white house and some people call him president, but I don’t and never will! Now there’s a crook! Corruption at its finest!

      • JeffH

        JTB :)

  • Doc Sarvis

You wrote; “Cain’s close ties to questionable institutions like the Federal Reserve will be reined in by his close proximity to the brilliant Paul,…”. Since when has a Vice President reined in his boss the President? I don’t like Cain’s close ties with the Fed.

    • John

The Federal Reserve is not federal nor does it have any reserves, The fed is run by the two international banking institutions, the Rockefellers and the Rothschilds. I disagree with Herman Cain that the Fed can be reformed. It must be abolished and Congress should be in charge of our nation’s money. The Federal Reserve Act Is unconstitutional. Woodrow Wilson Gave in to the international bankers in signing the bill into law in 1913. Ron Paul is right on target about in abolishing the Fed. I want Ron Paul for our next president. The Rockefellers and the Rothschild banking families have the economic power to set up a one world dictatorship govt. via the United Nations run by them to keep people into debt and to promote new wars for them to fight! Thats a awful future if you ask me.

    • Doc Sarvis

Spoke too soon; Cheney. That worked well…NOT.

  • Sal

One never ceases to be amazed … when I volunteerd to join the military I had to produce more identification to join for 4 years of Active Duty, U.S.M.C. 1964-1968 than Barack/Barry-Hussein-Obama-Soetoro has yet to. Who is this man anyway? Where did he come from? Yet now we all know why.

    • Doc Sarvis
      • MSgranny

There a still a few who simply do not have the mental capability to read and understand the Constitution. They can’t understand that it says a president must be born to parents (notice parents is plural)
        who are citizens themselves.
A fake birth certificate does not satisfy the demands of the Constitution.

      • KJQ

I’m Canadian not American, hence no vested interest in the debate about Obama’s place of birth. He may well have been born in the USA, but as an IT professional I’m telling you that I’ve personally examined the birth certificate Acrobat file posted on the White House web site and it’s a FORGERY. Many others with even more expertise than me have published detailed analysis proving the forgery. Add that to his concealing all his school records, and a SSN that is from a state he nor his parents ever lived in (Nebraska), and there are genuine serious doubts raised.

      • Capitalist at Birth

I bet you still believe in the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus, don’t you? Drink your Obama kool-aid like a good little boy, and maybe he’ll put you on his welfare list. Free house, free education, free medical care, everything FREE!! Then you can sit on your a$$ and rot away like the rest of the Obama idiots.

      • johnk

You realize that that BC proves without a doubt that he is a dual-citizen. That point alone disqualifies him from presidency.

      • http://www.keysinsurance.com Linda

He produced a phony birth certificate. He has a phony social security number(s) as well.

      • Rhondar

That b.c. is fake Doc….I’ve got 2 graphic artists who opened it and said it’s a patchwork

      • Jibbs

obamas BC is just another lie behind a trail of many.

    • http://www.daybydaycartoon.com/ Tucci78

      Point of clarification, Ron.

Our Fraudulence-in-Chief isn’t named “Soetoro.” That’s the name of the Suharto political thug who married Stanley Ann Dunham and legally adopted her kid when he was summoned back to Indonesia in 1965 to take part in Gen. Suharto’s coup d’etat.

Understand that the naming convention among Muslim males in Indonesia is to give a boy a single legal name – no patronymic – and then accord him a sort of “semi-official” nickname, used among friends and family.

Thus Soetoro (our Mombasa Messiah’s adoptive father) had the nickname of “Lolo.”

When Stanley Ann’s product of her first alien Mac Daddy was formally adopted by Lolo Soetoro to make the kid a citizen of the Republic of Indonesia (thereby obliterating whatever claim U.S. citizenship the little bastich may have ever had), his given legal name became “Soebarkah,” nickname “Barry.”

Got that? He’s not “Barry Soetoro.” He’s Barry SOEBARKAH.

He’s still Barry Soebarkah. Y’see, after he got shipped back to Hawaii to grow up in the household of his maternal whiter-than-Wonder-Bread grandparents, he never did get his legal name changed back to “Barack Hussein Obama II,” and he never did get naturalized as a U.S. citizen.

“Soebarkah” was the praenomen on the Indonesian passport old whats-his-real-name used to make that trip to Pakistan in 1981. You didn’t know that?

And there’s a whole helluva lot more that us constitutionalists want to know about Barry Soebarkah. Or “Harrison J. Bounel.” or “Jean Paul Ludwig.” Or whatever alias he’s using at the moment.

Birthers, unite. You have nothing to lose but a criminal fraud masquerading as the President of these United States.

        Amen brother!

      • Von Richtofen

Amen!! I wish our media was as profficient at spreading the truth! Oh wait their just Goebbles ( BHO) propaganda machine.

      • eddie47d

Thousands of Americans change their names and many more were encouraged to do so as they immigrated to America in years past. (shorten your name so you will fit in as an American citizen) That shouldn’t even be an issue anymore.

      • bp

eddie47d: La-la liberal! The TRUTH lives forever. Can’t wait to see him on death row for treason & insurrection. The only good news is that everything he signed will be null & void.

  • ron

Ben you are right/ reich where I thought you would be on this issue. Two Idiots and a dummy (the dummy being Cantor) Ron Paul filling our pockets with gold dust and watching for visitors from outerspace and Cain doing the Koch brothers bidding. Then one day he makes the mistake of not doing what the brothers want (Koch brothers) and you Ben convince them to impeach him for not being a good lap dog. Ron Paul resigns when the Koch brothers will not agree to end the use of the dollar bill for gold dust.

    • s c

Good morning, comrade genius. So, give us the benefit of your experience and broad knowledge. If I mention names like Kissinger, Zbig and Soros, do your knees start to knock? When I say Peanuts Carter, do you get a tingling sensation in your legs? Typical utopian. If you were half as smart as you think, you’d be a fricking’ RINO. Whiz off, comrade.

      • John

        Absolutely Clueless!!!!!!

Ron, be a good boi and drink your kool-aide! Then you can talk a stupidly as you’d like…

      • eddie47d

Not much different than the way SC talks but go ahead and spin onward.

    • Alex Frazier

That’s about the most ignorant and uneducated response I’ve ever read. Did you even graduate from elementary school?

    • Patriot Diva

I’d rather see politicians do the Koch brothers’ bidding than George Soros’ bidding any day!

    • Lost in Paradise

      Wow a liberal! How boring!

    • Von Richtofen

You’re an idiot communist wake up, The $ is and has failed. Ron paul wanting to base our money on precious metals is the only sensible idea out there basing the the worlds currencies on credit hasn’t seemed to work has it. Honestly you all better start stocking up on commodities because in the end a bushel of gold won’t be able to by a bushel of wheat. Get ready for a very rough ride regardless of who holds the office in ’2012!

      • Rhondar

Yep…the bible does say men will be throwing their gold into the streets in the end. But for now gold is the only way to shore up the currency and you are right about commodities too…we need both.

    • DaveH

Oh yeah, Ron, we don’t need no Gold standard. I mean what do we want with sound money? Imagine the audacity of expecting to buy as much with our money in 10 years as we can buy now?
We are much better off with the Federal Reserve. Thanks to them, we can now buy 1/20th (that’s right, one twentieth) with our dollars of what we could buy with them in 1913 when the Fed started.
Why would we want to preserve our buying power? It’s not like we can take it to grave with us.

  • Sal

Plausible but highly unlikely, the only one in the group that has the intellect and experience is Newt, that’s a fact.

    • UPCHUCK

Newt is a member of the notorious Council on Foreign Relations.

      • mark

^^^^^^ good work…expose all the corrupt candidates!!!!

    • ChristyK

He also cheated on and delivered divorce papers to 2 different wives who were in the hospital. Does this sound like someone who cares about anyone but himself? Electing the smartest person only works if you can trust him to work for your best interest. We can’t with Newt. He’d make a great press secretary, but I don’t think he would ever consider such a “lowly” position.

      • Rayma Dorsa

You are probley right there, but there is someone else running who they refuse to give media time, who I believe is greater than Ron Paul and that is Buddy Roemer of LA..first one I have heard that would throw out the LOBYISTS.He was Gov and also in Congress..I wish someone would listen to him…

    • theotherrhalf

      LMAO

  • s c

Ben, your suggestion isn’t any worse than some I’ve seen lately. My suggestion to you is that if Paul becomes VP, his main task will be to rip apart the Fed. Anyone who has a reason to continue the Fed’s presence missed a basic lesson in economics a long time ago. Audit fans, quit dreaming.
My basic goal is to see the current W H criminals out of the W H and/or behind bars. Let us save America while we can. There is much damage to be undone, and we have very little time left to do that.

    • Vic Bailey

“RON PAUL OR NOT AT ALL”, what is wrong with these stupid people, I will elect the truth over any other qualifing trait of any candidate, which Ron Paul has the most qualifing qualifications of all the candidates put together and he has proved that since the beginning of his political career, and HE’S NOT A LAWYER, he is a working man! He loves thei country and it’s people and not for the ELITIST! He believes in our Constitution and our way of life! A vote for anybody else is a vote for the DEATH OF AMERICA! Semper Fi.

      • Alice

Amen, brother! Write in Ron Paul, if necesary, and it probably WILL be necessary!

      • 11Bravo

RON PAUL as President, Cain for VP – maybe. But Cain is the Fed. You don’t get to be the head of any Fed Bank without being a banker and government insider.

      • Teresa

Cain was a board member not “the fed”

      • Jason

Why not argue that Reagan should run for a third term? He has as much chance of winning as Ron Paul does. I know this blog is about conservative ideals and all that, but if the GOP caters to you guys you WILL be enjoying another 4 years under Obama. You need moderate voters to side with you or you are done. Especially with mediocre minds like Perry and Cain in the spotlight. Your best shot is Romney, which ain’t saying much.

      • Liberty Minded

Right on, Ron Paul is the only candidate. Herman Cain is so opposite of Paul, Cain wants to fix the establishment instead of restore our country to its original constitutional moorings which Ron Paul will do.

      • Opa

Those of you who scream “Ron Paul or not at all”, will get your wish. And it will be Obama. Do you think that no one else in the republican group is capable of doing good things for this country? Right now, I believe a Cain/Bachmann ticket would be the best for this country. But I would vote for Ron Paul in either position if he were the nominee. Why? Because we have to get rid of the current socialist regime at all costs. Anybody but Obama. If you write Paul’s name in in the general election you are cutting this country’s throat.

      • Rhondar

Nope Opa…that’s the pigeon hole the get us in every time….we aren’t voting to elect someone we are voting against Obama that way. I’d just as soon have Obama as any others but Paul.
Cain is a moron. He flip flops in the middle of a sentence.

RON PAUL OR NOT AT ALL for me !

      • JTB

I agee with you. I’ll vote for whoever gets the GOP ticket. We HAVE TO GET obama and his gangsters out of Washington. We can’t take another 4 years of his corrupt business. Quit bickering about Cain, Paul, Bachman, Perry whoever and let’s stick together to make this happen. The best GOP candidate will prevail!

      • The Traditionalist

Opa: writing in a name is not such a bad idea, especially when you consider that most of the presidential candidates we are being forced upon us by the national media and the socialist dominated Democart and Republican parties. A large number of the presidential candidates are members or former members of globalist organizations such as the CFR or Trilateral Commission. If they are not members of either organization you can rest assured they work closely with people who are members or former members of these organizations. Both presidential candidates running for president in 2001–Kerry and Bush– are members of the Yale secret organization “Skull and Bones,” another globalist organization. In 2007 I refused to vote for either McCain or Oboma– I left it blank. Cain is an insider of the federal reserve, do you think someone like that is is really a genuine American patriot–No way. The federal reserve is an unconstitutional organization that was illegally foisted off on the American public, and organized by banksters of which some are current or former CFR members. Don’t be fooled by high sounding patriotic speeches. Ron Paul is the only gunuine patriot that is running who has the record to prove it.

      • Jibbs

        obama and gang to prison.

      • JoanBarry

Personally I think Gingrich is the only candidate that can deliver on the promises being made by the field of conservative candidates and can beat Obama in any debate. But, Cain has really connected with economic and social conservatives. I’d like to see a Cain/Gingrich or Gingrich/Cain ticket! Although I personally like Dr. Ron Paul, he is against everything and don’t really think he could dismantle our current system of government…we can’t go back to 1776. Bachman would definitely do a wonderful job as President, I personally admire her, but I’m unsure if she could beat Obama…she’d also be a good choice for VP with Cain, since she is so knowledgeable about domestic and foreign affairs.

      • Poorman

Sorry, but I can’t support Ron Paul who doesn’t not have a clue about having international friends like Israel as he is ready to throw them under the bus just like Obama. I agree on dumping our Muslim loving enemies who constantly vote against us and I like Paul’s conservative plans for in country. It is his view of the military and Israel in particular that keeps me from voting or supporting him. I’ll take Cain/Gingrich ticket. Gingrich is the smartest of the bunch and supports the Constitution, but he is not electable. Cain is the business guy (needed in our Gov) and Gingrich steers him through the rat holes of Congress.

      • Truthseeker

Cain is more of the same. Former fed employee, will continue elite establishment rule. They know this and are presenting him in the best format in all mass media. Ron Paul is the only candidate who is not bought and paid for by the establishment elite. Vote for Cain and the mess will continue and the control and suffering will remain. Vote for Paul and we begin to free ourselves from the strangle hold that has been upon us.

      • Rhondar

Our friend Israel bombed the U.S.S. Liberty and tried to sink it …and would have if that Russian ship hadn’t happened by to witness the 3 hour attack….Israel even straffed the lifeboats when our sailors tried to save themselves….with friends like that we don’t need enemies.

Oh yeah…Israel sold our nuclear secrets to China too.

This blind support of Israel is sickening. AMERICA FIRST….ALWAYS

      • JoanBarry

I also do not think Ron Paul should be our candidate because of his statement that he would not support Israel, our best friend and only ally in the middle-east. Also, to turn a blind eye to Iran’s support of terrorism and the growing influence of radical Islam in the area and in the USA!!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Rhondar – Bill Clinton sold our secret technology to China, not Israel. Bill Clinton was the guy.

      • newspooner

You need to read directly what Ron Paul has written on his positions. Also, he has received more contributions from military people than all other candidates combined. He is by far the best choice.

      • Sam

He also couldn’t put two cohesive sentences together. When he isn’t spot on with his comments, he’s somewhere out there in left field. If an electable person stood in his place and stumped for only the achievable half of Paul’s diatribe, I would support the agenda.

      • DaveH

        Sam,
If you’d do more studying and thinking about Ron’s agenda, you would come to realize that he isn’t out in left field at all. Unless of course you think Thomas Jefferson’s ideas were left field.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Sam, I have to disagree with you. Though Im not a Ron Paul guy, he can put two cohesive sentences together, and he doesnt need a dog gone teleprompter to do it. His platform has very good ideas, and if followed through on, would be very good for this country. I am against his stance on military, as I know without a strong military, we are doomed. I could care less about what people say about his foreign policy being lacking, big deal. All these foreign countries need to know, is dont mess with us or we will slap you down in self defense, and there is nothing wrong with that. I agree with his wanting to get us out of these places all over the world, where we are spending billions protecting countries that sponge of us daily, then spew hated against us. Cut that foreign spending, close a bunch of those foreign bases, but still keep our defenses strong. But I totally disagree with you about him putting cohesive sentences together. You are wrong in that aspect.

      • newspooner

Ron Paul is for a strong military — ours! Most of the other candidates continue to be for strong militaries for other countires. We need to stop all foreign aid. Most military people agree with Ron Paul and me. Get the US out of the UN, and get the UN out of the US. Otherwise, all liberty will be lost.

      • DaveH

Ron Paul is the only candidate with a real plan to shrink our Bloated Leviathan Government:
        http://www.ronpaul2012.com/the-issues/ron-paul-plan-to-restore-america/

The rest of the candidates are only promising things to get elected. We have the Establishment Republicans running scared. They are coming up with all sorts of things (999 plan, 20% Flat Rate Tax, etc.) that they have never considered putting on the table before, because they know the electorate is pissed and is not going to accept business as usual any longer. Don’t fall for their scams.
Only Ron Paul has the record of honesty that we can trust.
Note that I think Gary Johnson is also a man of integrity who would indeed shrink Government, but the MSM has effectively silenced Gary, which is just as well for this election because he would just cannibalize Votes that would otherwise go to Ron Paul.

      • ALL AMERICAN

I’ll have to vote for whoever gets the ticket, but don’t you see that the stress of being POTUS would do him in… Isn’t he a little too old to be POTUS for even one term? Herman Cain is not a moron, as someone stated further up. They should do some research. Mr Cain has a degree in engineering and mathematics, plus is a good businessman. We need more of a businessman right now than we do a politician. Mr Cain’s beliefs and values will help out America with what she has lost. Look closer people. Paul doesn’t care about a nuclear Iran or N Korea??? WTF? …BAD JU JU PEOPLE.

      • DaveH

The stress of not having somebody like Ron Paul will do me in. Cain is a Trojan Horse, much like his 999 plan. You need to read some real history books (those not written by Court Historians) to get an idea of just how morally bankrupt most politicians are. This article will give you a slight clue, but you need to dig much deeper:
        http://mises.org/daily/5580/Lincoln-and-Roosevelt-American-Caesars

      • moonbeam

All American, “Mr Cain has a degree in engineering and mathematics,”

Yep, his math is so good that he had to go back and rethink his 9-9-9 plan when it was revealed that the poor working class gets hit, yet again, with higher taxes.

Cain will go the way of Obama and is not what this country needs. Running Godfather’s Pizza is one thing and running a country is quite another. It’s like comparing apples to oranges.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I cannot put my trust in Cain, because of him having been the head of the Federal Reserve bank in Kansas was it? That would mean, no doubt, that he has tie in’s with the Federal Reserve, and we do not need that. We need someone who will oppose them and make them null and void, not someone who is entrenched with them.

      • newspooner

The last time I was with Ron Paul was in early April. He was as mentally sharp as ever, and still does 6 mile bicycle rides whenever he gets the chance. It would be nice if in the next debate they had all the candidates have a pushup contest. Ron Paul would win easily. The Establishment wants all of the anti-Obama people to believe that Ron Paul is too old. We should not proliferate their propaganda.

      • TimN

If Ron Paul gets the Republican nomination it would be a good idea for him to pick Gary Johnson as his running mate. We will have two men of integrity and principle in the White House. They also have the knowledge, skills and motivation to reign in the Federal government. Gary Johnson is also young enough to succeed Ron Paul in 2020 or in 2016 if Ron Paul dies in office or ages too much to run for a second term.

The only alternative candidates for Vice President that I know of are John Dennis and Justin Amash. They too have the knowledge and motivation required to reign in the Federal Government. Alas, I suspect they lack the skills and experience required to be successful as number two.

      • http://bellsouth.net Oakley Mann

Vic, good, I hope folks don’t lose sight of the fact that there needs to be a small step to begin on any path toward righting our Country. What I hope people think about is if their dream team is not the one chosen, who will they vote for? Will the masss be split allowing Obama another 4 yrs and certain ruination of all freedoms we now enjoy. Obama is doing his best to split us all. Remember his form of government by definition and really dig deep to see if that is what want. Thanks
Ineptocracy(in-ep-toc’-ra-cy) a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain thmselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.
Please remember the word diminishing, and remember that folks who are not producers and on welfare or other social programs are the group who Will most certainly elect the next President if We The People can’t come together. We The People have to stick together, even if a small step at a time

      • JoanBarry

All of the candidates are principled social and economic conservatives who have come up with some good ideas on how to get our country back to greatness. I hope they all back the chosen team and continue working for them throughout their term. I agree, we (the people) need to get behind the Republican candidate, even if he/she is not our personal choice. Our vote in the 2011 election is more important than ever. It may be our last chance to change the path that is taking our country down.

      • moonbeam

I will vote my conscience, for the Constitution and for truth, Ron Paul. I will not vote for someone who is not my personal choice. To vote for someone just because he is the chosen of the party but may not be my personal choice is ridiculous.

      • newspooner

At least 3 of the Republican candidates are quite shaky, and possible Establishment plants meant to lead us astray. Remember George Quincy Bush and John Compromiser McCain. Play it safe and support Ron Paul. Even his enemies admit that he is the most honest politicain in America.

      • http://bellsouth.net Oakley Mann

moonbeam, good for you. It is excellent we do not have an autocratic form of government, each of us can try and sway the other to see our way of thinking, but in the beginning and until the end of our lives, we are individuals. Thanks for your input

      • Patriotic nut

Tell us how you REALLY feel there Vic… Mr. Paul has some very intelligent arguments that I agree completely with but also has some ideas that make me go, huh? Legalize pot, leave Iran alone if they want a nuke, get rid of the fed ( what’s he going to replace it with?), close all our over seas bases and cut the military back….

      • Rhondar

Now that’s an ignorant statement. Drugs should be legal because the WAR ON DRUGS IS A FAILURE.

Paul says the states should regulate drugs and I agree. That way we can vote with our feet if we don’t like it….we have more people in prisons than any country in the world….do you by any chance work for the prison industry?

      • realist

I like some of Pauls ideas; I don’t like others. I Voted for his son in both the primary and general election. Not because I liked everything he had to say but because he was closest to what I beleived that was on the ticket. These last three words are critical. Those of you who want Paul or no one are naive and immature. Your argument is right up there with taking your ball and going home. The choice for us as a nation is an electible “R” or Obama. The nation can not handle 4 more years of Obama. Pauls problem is Hubris as is yours. You take pride is being immovable in your policy picks. That is fine in a county or state but will not work at the federal level. The goal is 270, not 27 electoral votes. Paul is not electible. He is admirable, he is principled, but he is not electable. If you insist on carrying out your threat of “Ron Paul or not at all”; all you will be doing is handing the dems another 4 years of blank checks and our country another 4 years of multi trillion dollar deficits. So go ahead and be princilpled; put that head into the sand just a little deeper; but when you come up for air and see the Obama version of the KGB/IRS prowling the streets I think that your many principles will not make you feel any better nor keep any of your tax dollars out of the money grubbing hands of the FED Reserve.

      • Rhondar

What a naive statement…Iran is a signer on the Nuclear treaty…Israel is not. We have never been able to inspect Israel’s nuclear sites. So what if Iran gets a nuke…Russia had over 30,000 and we handled that the right way….the Ron Paul way.

      • moebears

Rhondar, you took the words right out of my mouth. Might I add, what’s wrong with closing overseas bases and cutting defense spending? We are wasting trillions overseas, when we need to protect our own borders, and we’re broke. We have no business, militarily, in other countries. All aid needs to be ended, as well. We’re giving aid to Israel, who can defend themselves very well, and we’re also giving it to Israel’s enemies. How convoluted is that?

      • bobby

I agree that its Ron Paul are none. If you love america, you have to be for Ron Paul. He has great principles and a record that proves that he will stick by them.

      • Roy

I like Ron Paul ! But not all his policies. A lot of them are very good, But a couple of them are to radical. One off them the current adminstration is hunting for vote’s in which he is making the troop’s withdrawel ahead of him, anyway. And by that bad judgement goes along with the point of the presidency. That was one of the worst decision’s any president could ever make. I go along with the troop withdrawel, but let’s not forecast a time, ,and let’s for sure not get into such a hurried position. I guess the vice presidency, would not be that bad, and keep him 2nd in command

      • Mad Max

I Agree. I will not vote for Cain Paul, but that will never happen. What is it with Herman Cain, the guy is as status quo as it gets. His so called 9-9-9 plan would raise aggregate tax revenues for the federal govt. by 26%, as well as instituting one of the most regressive tax plans ever(9 percent federal sales tax in addition to your local sales tax- for me that comes out to 18.25% sales tax- aka no more shopping for me). So no I don’t like Herman Cain, he is a fiscal liberal-flip-flop that is playing the game. I find this article to be inflammatory given Mr. Cains willingness to join the NeoCon Establishment, and forsake all principles of integrity for a step up the political ladder, spend, spend, spend, and then blame Ron Paul, and the media would say poor Herman Cain getting stuck with an old cooke, and Herman would say “I can’t help it some of my supporters would be so unreasonable, but I would be open to getting a new VP”. And, so the status quo would continue, would our economy? Do people really just want a guy that gets an economic plan from his stock broker, because the guy that actually studied economics sounds controversial, well where do people draw the line, I don’t know anymore. If I had the chance though I would Vote fro Ron Paul for President in 2012 hopefully with Gary Johnson the Governor with a real track record for success.

      • Mary

I agree. That 999 will turn in a 666. The only one who will make a different for this country is Ron Paul. We have to take care of ourselves first. Unfortunally we all know the media and the corrupt republicans don’t like him. He won’t be in the ticket against Obama. I don’t substimate the stupidity of the people that’s why I’m not sure about not having Obama for four more years. All the fleabaggers vote. All the people in welfare do too. I believe there is no hope no change in the future. We will have more of the same with or without Obama . The train has no brakes.

      • Phil

Vic, if it’s Ron Paul or not at all, it will be not at all, which means Obama again. I’ll aggree with you about Ron Paul, I wish there were more in D.C. like him. Problem he just can’t win a general election at his age, 77 at election time. Middle America who determins presidential elections outcome, just won’t go for someone as old as he is. I wish he had stayed is congress where he can be effective instead of running for President. We could get much closer to what you and I want if Ron would drop out and support Hermin Cain. Ron would be great in his cabinet.

      • newspooner

Ron Paul is not too old at 77 Can you bicycle nonstop for 10 miles? Can you do 50 pushups? Ron can. I don’t think that Herman Cain can. But even though Cain can’t, that isn’t why I am not enthusiastic about him.. Ron Paul is just so much better than any of the others. We must not let the Establishment con us into helping to spread their anti-Paul propaganda.

    • Mike Houst

Nothing wrong with the audit fans. Most of them also support dissolution of the Fed; but support the audit as a stepping stone in the right direction. Consider the audit a full scale inventory to determine just how much is really missing before we shut down the Fed business. (It ain’t gonna be pretty.)

      • s c

Mike, please reconsider your position whle you can. First, in an ideal world, we can audit the Fed, we can get Obummer to tell the truth, we can force Soros to donate all his wealth to charity and we might even get a wholesale conversion of utopians so they can learn to love freedom and renounce their insane philosophy.
Second, this is not an ideal world. Odds are that the Fed shows our Washington criminals how to properly ‘cook the books.’ The Fed criminals have had since 1913 to cook their books and cover their tracks. They will let the Fed be audited when hell freezes over.
Trying to get the truth from the Fed will be like trying to invent a time machine so we can change history. Mike, an audit of the Fed is a pure waste of time and effort. It will never happen.
I say this in a sincere effort to get you to understand what is involved and why it is impossible. I’m not trying to “preach” to a braindead utopian. If THAT was the case, I wouldn’t bother.

      • eddie47d

SC doesn’t seem like the type of person who would donate anything to charity yet has the audacity to tell others what to do.

In sc’s case, his “audacity” is a sign of boldness or daring, a daring or willingness to challenge assumptions or conventions or tackle something difficult or dangerous.

Your own audacity is called impudence which is a total lack of respect in somebody’s behavior toward another person.

eddie you are exactly what you so often accuse others of being, and you actually believe you’re above all of it. Fortunatel, you fool no one but yourself. I realize opinions are just that, opinions, but you’re constant “do as I say, not as I do” blurbs is nothing more than your own hypocritical bellowing to the nth degree.

      • JeffH

Oh, and before I forget…eddie’s narrow focus was on sc’s comment about “charity”, speaking of not getting it.

      • eddie47d

How many more insulting people are you going to get in bed with Jeff. We know you hop in the sack with hedge fund crooks so it doesn’t surprise me you are charmed by SC.

      • Rhondar

First the fed needs to be audited so we can FINALLY find out what they did with OUR MONEY….then we need to transition them out and repeal the ammendment that allowed them to be created. We need a national central bank….not international bankers.

Never happen….hide and watch….you are the reason they have robbed us blind…submitting to it is weak

      • Mary

There you go. Herman Cain said: Just call the Fed and they will tell all you need to know. This guy is insulting everybody “inteligencia”. Imaging what he’s going to do if he gets the presidency.

    • Vagabond

sc I doint want and or. I want them behind bars at hard labor for 40 years and one day, they deserve it for what they have done to our country and are continueing to do,

      • eddie47d

Then gather up the handcuffs and march into the halls of Wall Street and begin arresting.

      • DaveH

What have they done to you, Eddie? Did they force you to buy any of their products? Did they defraud you? If yes, please tell us how.

      • Rhondar

Are you joking…they defrauded all of us with TARP

      • moebears

TARP was a gift to Wall Str from our very own Fed and D.C. Not that the banksters are angels, by any means, but they took the gift that our govt had no business giving them in the first place. It starts with the politicians.

      • DaveH

All of them, Rhondar? Aren’t you being just a little prejudiced?
I asked Eddie that question, because I want some specific answers on his generalized trashing of all things Wall Street. It seems like you’ve fallen into the same trap as Eddie.
There are market capitalists and political capitalists. The political capitalists (Crony Capitalists) get ahead with favors from their Big Government buds. The market capitalists get ahead by pleasing the consumers. You can’t just lump them all together unless what you’re advocating is Communism, or some other such collective system.
As Moebears said, it starts with Big Government.

      • eddie47d

I gave you answers yesterday Dave so stop being an ignorant trollip. Are you playing dumb or is it for real?

      • DaveH

As usual, a nonsense answer from Eddie the Troll.

      • Tina

Perhaps instead of arresting those who work on Wall Street, maybe we should arrest those who’ve enabled all that people like yourself claim to loathe about Wall Street & Corporate America? Who bailed out the banks with OUR money? DC. Who bailed out Wall Street with OUR money? DC. Who bailed out the auto makers with OUR money? DC. Who began the chain of events that brought us the housing bubble? DC. Well, Slick Willy to be precise. Who warned us about the coming housing bubble & the crisis it would bring all the way back when we could’ve still done something about it? Republicans. Who claimed that there was nothing to worry about & that everything was fine with Fannie & Freddie? Democrats. We see where that got us. Well, those of us capable of critical thinking do.

Now gee – maybe it’s just me, but it would seem that anyone with a brain in their head & a grasp on the reality of the ROOT OF OUR PROBLEMS would understand that DC is the root. Time to rip up the diseased portion of the root so we can get back on track. If the “occupiers” had one shred of a single clue about what is truly wrong in this nation then they wouldn’t have christened themselves “Occupy Wall Street” – they’d have christened themselves “Occupy Washington DC”. But, alas, most of us understand that the OWS crowd are nothing more than a bunch of useful idiots who don’t have the first clue that they are being played & used to further an agenda.

      • moebears

Tina, I agree with most of what you say. My one “complaint” is that it wasn’t the Repubs as a whole who warned us about the housiing bubble, nor the Dems as a whole who defended Freddie and Fannie. It was a select few, Ron Paul chief amongst them, who warned us. Everyone laughed at him, including fellow repubs.
In other words, this mess we’re in isn’t a repub thing or a dem thing, it’s a politician thing. Very little difference between the two parties, that’s why I look at the individual, not the letter after his/her name.

    • Charles

Just think…If Ron Paul is elected as Vice President he would be eligible to be elected as President in the future. This means we would have Ron Paul’s influence and leadership in a Top Executive Branch Position for multiple four year terms (up to 16 years). That’s pretty cool!

      • DaveH

Ron Paul is 76. He doesn’t have that much time left to save us from our ignorance.

      • amagi

        Dear Dave H,
Lost my best friend recently; she was 94 and active, ran her own
businesses, wrote letters to the editor nearly every day. published
two books, one just a short while ago – among other things. Goes to
show that people age differently. Milton Friedman was in his 90′s
too and sharper than most younger people, I’d say. No ? I have seen no
slowing down in Dr. Paul either.
By the way, thank you for many fine comments.

      • Rhondar

This is our last chance….it’s now or never for Paul

    • DavidL

“Corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed.”
      Abraham Lincoln, 1864.

And Teddy Roosevelt, another Republican, had similar ideas…hence the nickname “the trust buster”. What has happened to the Republican Party?

The Conservative/Republicans came to power promising jobs, jobs, jobs. All they have given us is guns, gays, abortion, self-serving political obstruction, and more attempts to accumulate wealth at the top by gutting our social safety net like Medicare and Social Security. 999 guts both. The flat tax guts both.

There is a revolution and a cleaning of the house coming. It just won’t be the one you think. I paid into Social Security for 45 years. It is going to be there for my kids and grandkids, Pal!

      • moebears

Holy Toledo, keep taking the blue pill, pal. Me, I choose the red pill. (A reference to The Matrix, where the blue pill kept you in blissful ignorance, and the red pill freed you to the truth).

Amen s c!!! My thanks for your wise comments at the lead

    • http://bellsouth.net Oakley Mann

s c, my comment to you on your lead statement went way down in yonder somewhere for reasons I don’t know. I said Amen!! I thank you for your wise comments at the lead

    • Old Henry

This morning I heard Representative Ron Paul interviewed on a Chi Ka Go radio station for about ten minutes. It was a fairly done interview and he came across VERY well. His answers all logical and made a lot of sense.

I think he was in town for one of those fund raiser breakfasts.
