PROVIDENCE, R.I., Oct. 19 (UPI) — A Rhode Island man has become a YouTube star with a video of him using a 19-piece band to help him quit his job at a Providence hotel.
Joey DeFrancesco, a former room service waiter at the Renaissance Providence Hotel, has received nearly 890,000 hits on YouTube with a video of him quitting his position at the inn while a 19-piece band follows him playing “What Cheer? Brigade,” WPRI-TV, Providence, reported Tuesday.
DeFrancesco explained in the description of the video, titled “Joey Quits,” that a poor working environment led to his departure from the hotel.
“I worked in this hotel for 3 1/2 years. I worked while going to school full time to pay my tuition and living expenses. This was not a job I had for two weeks before quitting in a hissy-fit. The working conditions in the hotel are horrendous,” he wrote.
