MSU investigates racial incidents

MSU's Black Student Alliance was holding a town hall meeting Tuesday to discuss two incidents that occurred in the past week, in which racial slurs were found written on a wall and on a student's dry erase board, as well as an incident last month in which a student cleaning a chemistry lab found a small black doll hanging from a makeshift noose.
"In 2011, you would think this is not an issue anymore, but it is," Mario Lemons, president of MSU's Black Student Alliance, told The Detroit News. "People want it to stop. One thing can lead to another."
University spokesman Kent Cassella said racial incidents "will not be tolerated as they clearly do not reflect the values of the institution."
