Police Seek Homes Of Gnomes

HELENA, Mont., Sept. 12 (UPI) — Police in Montana said they are trying to find the rightful owners of several garden gnomes discovered in various locations at a high school.
Noal Petty, a school resource officer at Capital High School in Helena, said 22 gnomes were discovered in various locations, including on the school’s roof, at the end of May and eight of the statues have thus far been returned to their rightful owners, the Helena Independent Record reported Monday.
Petty said he is hoping to find the owners of the remaining 14 gnomes before the items have be turned over to the Helena Police Department as evidence.
“My goal is to get them to their rightful owners,” Petty said.
The officer said he is also looking for information on who stole the gnomes from their homes and glued them to parts of the Capital High building.
