Obama's Approval Rating Only 19 Percent

On Wednesday, the newest results from a Rasmussen telephone poll show President Barack Obama’s approval rating at only 19 percent and Congressional approval at only 6 percent, as the public, according to the organization, focuses heavily on the economy.

Related to the dismal economic outlook, another report by Rasmussen that focused on hiring trends found that only 17 percent of those polled — the lowest number this year — reported strong hiring trends in their areas and 24 percent predicted further layoffs from their employers.

The polls also suggest that 62 percent of citizens have little faith in the government to use funds correctly in undertaking government projects aimed at stimulating the economy through infrastructure improvement. Earlier this week Obama appointed Alan Krueger, a proponent of government intervention and project growth as a tool for job implementation, as the head of the White House Council of Economic Advisers. According to Bloomberg, Krueger predicted a slow-moving economy over the long term and advocated growth in government spending on infrastructure last July.

“The recovery does just take time,” he said in the July 1 interview. “There are some things the government can do that would also help, like investing in infrastructure. That would help to reduce unemployment among construction workers and could lead to an increase in consumption and possible [sic] raise confidence and would raise productivity in the future.”

While the U.S. national debt hovers around $14.7 trillion, and could nearly double over the next four years if it continues to follow current trends, an article published in The Baltimore Sun on Wednesday, reports that most Americans have simply lost faith in the ability of government to reverse economic trends.

According to the Conference Board’s monthly Consumer Confidence Index, consumer confidence deteriorated “sharply” this month, bringing consumer confidence to its lowest point in two years.

    19%?? At last, a poll which sounds accurate!! Presumably the 19% are drones and welfare moochers, some of whom don’t think BHO is liberal enough. Of course, Congress’ approval rating should be higher now than it was a year ago, when the Democraps controlled it. At least now the GOP controls the House, and thus can stop the advancement of BHO’s detrimental radical agenda. Now it’s up to you, American voters, to vote for real hope and change. By that , I mean we need to reverse the damage of BHO’s failed costly policies. Remember, you made One Big Awful Mistake America on 11/4/2008. You began to correct it 10 months ago, and must continue corrections in 2012 and beyond. …. And DO NOT ever again repeat the foolish errors you made in 2006 and 2008!!!!!

    the pollsters can make or break a candidate. when you stop and think about it, they poll a person on friday, he slams barry, something good happens over the weekend, a good speech or he doesn’t go on vacation and on monday morning that same person has a good opinion of barry.if the electorate is that weak and can change their mind like the wind, then god help us.

    All these 2008 marinated in a socialistic basket case environment Obama admirers that planted the seeds and waiting for a better tomorrow. They got what they wanted and begin to learn first-hand the meaning and difference between a recession and a looming depression. A recession is when your neighbor is unemployed and a depression is when you are!

    Human beings are going to make mistakes, whether in the market or government. The difference is that survival in the market requires recognizing mistakes and changing course before you go bankrupt. But surviving in politics requires denying mistakes and striking with the policies advocated, while blaming others for bad results. Do you hear me President Obama and listening? I ask you to give some thought to this when you are hitting your balls on the golf course.

    My only question is,”who are the 19% who think Obama is doing a good job?” I would go for an impeachment of Obama,but Joe Biden would be the man in charge! If you added Joe Biden’s IQ with Nancy Pelosi’s,you would still be in the minus catagory! I don’t think there has been two dumber polititians in the history of American politics! I know rocks that are smarter than those two! Obama’s stategy to win in 2012 is to pull the race card! He is already promoting it with the comments of the Black Caucus! These people are almost as despicable as Obama! Their racists comments about the Tea party show they have no real ammunition to fight their losing cause! If Obama is reelected in 2012,our children have NO future! Sad!

    So, when the current wunderkind took office, was he a limp duck or a lame duck? If you will recall, when this circus started, the ‘Dems’ had the W H, the House and the farkin’ Senate. Thank God, that W H boob didn’t get everything he wanted. That’s almost enough to make me think we have a few poeople left in Congress who have a functioning conscience (almost, that is).
    The only way I can politely describe the fakir in the W H is someone who, if he couldn’t hand over America on a silver platter, he’d be the guy who gives Jimmy Carter a reason to know that he’s no longer our worst prez. I find it more than irking that when what’s-his-name leaves the W H, he’ll be RICHER than when he moved into that building.
    Maybe we can float a loan (somehow), and get the W H fumigated. Oh, and if the Obummer clan has any plans for looting the W H the way Bubba and Billary Clinton did, a warrant for their arrest should be issued immediately.

      Don’t know for sure, but I’ve heard that the present fakir has picked up over a billion since he took office. Most of it is kickbacks for the money he handed out – things like stock in the Brazilian oil company, stock in various banks – particularly those in other countries, etc. Most of it is now in off-shore banks like the Bahamas. And he hopes with the new “stimulus” he is planning to pick up another billion to sock away.

    Can we really afford 4 more years of obamatics? I think not. I don’t think many really checked out this guy before they voted for him. I did. Anyone who is funded by George sorossoros. A rich “American hater” and a close associate to Obama. Should have opened more eyes. But this is what we get for ignorance. Hopefully more will do there research before the next election in 2012.

      So our men and women who fought in the 20th century did not fight for freedom against Germany, not once but twice to include Japan and Italy. Finally we have fought and died to prevent the spread of communisum in Korea which was a tie but we lost Vietnam due to politics. We won the cold war, but look at where Russia’s at today, just about ready to go back to their old communist ways.

        Not for OUR Freedom, Brad. The soldiers might have thought they were fighting for our Freedom, but they were fighting for Leaders’ egos and relationships. Who do powerful Leaders hang out with? Other powerful Leaders of course. It’s really no different than if you and your neighbor are having difficulties and a friend joins in on your side because he likes you and wants to help you. It’s just that in the case of a country, the Leaders need to convince the citizens that their cause is worthy. In the case of World War II, for instance, the vast majority of Americans did not want to get involved. But FDR did. So he planed and plotted until finally he provoked the Japanese into a conflict. About 2400 good servicemen died at Pearl Harbor so that FDR could get his wish. Ask yourself, what greater form of slavery is there than to be forced to give up your life?
        And then, after supposedly freeing Europe from the tyrant Hitler, what did we do? We meekly let another Tyrant take over the countries that became satellite states to Russia.

        I don’t make a habit of disagreeing with you, but we had a great number of citizens that wanted to go to war with Germany and aid the free people of this world. We even had people join foreign armies and navies to get into the fight. We had men that went to the aid of China to try and protect them from Japan even before we got involved there, as well!!

    Our county courthouses in Alabama are laying off employees, and cutting hours of operation by 10 hours per week. All the time, our man/child, posing as leader of the free world, is flying on the taxpayer’s corporate jet, extolling how wonderful the recovery is. I wonder if that includes the multi billion dollar bankruptcy of the green company that he said was the future of the country.

      some little pencil necked geek came to my door trying to get support to vote against prop 2 in Ohio today. This proposition takes away the right of public employees to strike. He tried to tell me that this was wrong that they SHOULD have that right.         If he had to rise through the ranks like politicians normally do, going through years of scrutiny, someone would have been able to expose him for what he is, and he never would have run for office.

        No, I believe that the American public were (yet again) played for the fools we are. The dumbed-down masses bought the hype, asked no questions (and silenced any who did), closed their eyes and took the leap.

    Forgive me but really I question if its that number of 10% is to high. We speak with countless numbers of people per week in our job and we find no one – not even Democrats feel Obama is doing anything right. Yet it quite clear that the media is still working over time spinning his praises, oddly thats not even working anylonger.

      Yup! The economy is still a mess for some folks and sunny skies are not on the horizon for those folks. Since Congress approves what get’s done in this country I would say they are definitely not doing their job. The Republicans continually sabotage infrastructure projects as shades of FDR and have the attitude that nothing matters anyways. Obama does need to be more forceful and to hell what the Left or Right thinks. Just get the country moving upward again.

We need smaller government, fewer regulations that styful small businesses, this country is still loosing jobs to china and other countries with cheap labor and taxes. So why don’t you ask GE’s CEO why they moved their head quarters overseas killing some 2000 jobs in the US? Ask why NLRB is trying to tell Boeing they can’t build a new manufacturing plant in NC to employ some 5000 workers.

        Finally Eddie47D why has the Ohmama adminstration in 31 months spent more in deficit spending then Bush II ever did in eight year’s, and answer this why is our un-employment rate at 9.1% when our glorious VP said it would never go over 8% with the passage of TARPII? Since you are so smart when the democrats had controll of congress couldn’t pass a budgit for FY 10 & 11. Remember eddie each budgit is sent to congress in Feb each year and let me remind you the budgit for FY 12 has approximately 1.4 TRILLION in deficit spending proposed.

        When the bubble burst on Bush’s watch 07-08 congress was under democrat control and they pumped Bush’s budgits up into trillion of dollars worth of deficit spending. Wasn’t it Bush’s administration trying to tell congress to reign in Fanny and Freddie as early as 2003. Today both Fanny and Freddie are into the governments pocket to the tune of some 120 billion dollars with no end in sight; in closing it was the banks that bundled that bad debt and sold it as securities, that’s what some call the greatest waist of money in our time and yes it was due to greed. I’m sitting here and I blame all politicians for our Ills today, but they are doing nothing constructive to bring our country out of this problem; Obama and company are just spending us down the road and the CBC is insighting race riots, is this what you want for our country Eddie47D?

        Brad;I will stand by what I said and you can stand by what you said. No hard feelings here just a different opinion on the same subject. I know it’s a tough sell but the government can create lots of jobs if the citizens are willing to pay for them.The same thing with taxes,everybody hates them but those in charge of the financial sector (those who make the decisions)agree that without increases the debt will only grow even with cuts. That includes statewide decision makers. Maybe it depends on which one of us wants America to collaspe and how it will happen. We will have slow growth no matter what is done by either side with lots of up’s and down’s. Bush also encouraged each and every American to own a home and he said that about 2 years before the housing market started to collaspe.So he wasn’t reining in anything just more political bluster.

        any job the government “creates” costs lots of tax money and only brings in a percentage of what it costs. If a business ran that way, they would be in chapter 13 over night, just like that “green” company that Nobummer invested tax money into!!

        Gibson Guitars has had problems before although nothing serious. No criminal charges were filed by the DOJ only an inquiry about the endangered Indian Ebony they were buying.Both side have said they will work this out.

You think it is okay for the Feds to raid a company with guns drawn, terrify the employees, seize construction materials as well as files and computers? On a politicized trumped up charge of illegally importing “endangered species of wood? Other guitar manufacturers apparently use this same type of wood and were not raided. The Gibson company also apparently had all the necessary compliance paperwork. So you must like living in a police state. I don’t!
        Why isn’t this DOJ going after the real criminals? Why is it covering up acting ATF chief Melson by reassigning him to inside the Justice Dept, instead of firing him? These things stink.

        I agree that Obama needs to be more forceful, but the problem is twofold. One is that he has not got the guts and two is that he has to toe the line and our big, very big problem is that whoever replaces him will just carry on as before instituting the same agenda again and again, until it’s all over, whence the Fed prevails and we are all slaves. It cannot carry on like this and we are now caught between a rock and a hard place. We really need smaller government and folks who are in government who have a spine which is blatantly lacking in the present lot. With Krueger installed now, we can look forwrd to more useless rhetoric from one whose track record is indicative of another yes man. Where to from here? – I seriously wonder if we have the will to do what is right and take the measures required to rid ourselves of these imposters who care not a whit for their Country or their fellow Countrymen but only for themselves. We are in very serious trouble with gutless cowards at the helm steering us into very unstable waters and we need to wake up before it’s too late – oops! sorry but it would seem to me that it is already too late! No more words needed, it is time to send these guys where they belong and get some real people in there, to at least do some damage control, or we are headed into the abyss. Are there any such real people out there with the moral fibre to do that? Please enlighten me, because I too have lost faith in the present bunch of liars, miscreants and well educated idiots.

        Congress is not doing its job?? If they approved of what BHO wants to do (that is – to destroy America and its economy!!), then I’d agree they’re not doing their job. But if the GOP controlled House says “NO” to Obama, then they ARE doing their job!! That’s what republicans were elected to do 10 months ago – to stop the failed detrimental policies of BHO and his democraps, which are bankrupting us, and doing nothing for the economy other than make it worse. And as for ‘shades of FDR’, we know that his projects and the New Deal were a failure. Were it not for WW2, the depression could’ve lingered longer for decades to come!!
