As for your comments earlier concerning “economics”, it all depends on what economic model you adhere too. I am guessing that you are a Keynesian in your economic beliefs ( considering that’s all that liberal colleges teach). Some of us have seen the fallacies in Keynesian “theory” and have begun looking into Austrian economic theory (laissez faire) which has proven to be right (99.9 % ) more often than not. Thanks to Keynesian theory, government involvement in the economy has killed the economy.

In the 2 years the Democrats were in charge (2009 – 2011) the economy was stabalized. Unemployment never went above 10% and the economic mess left by the Republicans was catastrophic. Read your history from 1929 – 1941 when we had the Great Depression…unemployment was over 25%. Since the 2010 elections, the Republicans did absolutely nothing to improve the economy. Now you want to bash the President when nothing in the way of improving the jobs situation was even introduced in the House. Get Real and study history or you will be doomed to repeat it!

Patriot, the economy tanked in 2008 when the President was a Republican. Wouln’t your logic conclude that is is Bush’s fault if you now blame Obama for the problems since he was elected. How can you conclude that the stimulus plan failed if unemployment didn’t even come close to the levels in the 1930′s, and by any measure you can come up with, the situation in 2008 under Bush was the reason we are in this mess now. Please study Newton’s laws that described momentum. Do you really think the economy would completely turn around in just 2 yeasr?

how can he say it failed?? Because Nobummer said we had to pass it to keep the unemployment level below 8% (not 9 or 10, but EIGHT!). It has raised to as high as 9.8% since then and is just over 9% NOW! So yes, it HAS failed!!! Job creation has to be at 75,000 a month just to keep up with graduates and other NEW workers entering the workforce! 100,000 would just start making a small dent in the level!!
Oh, BTW it’s estimated that private employers added 91,000 jobs in August, but that remains to be seen. Next months will be effected by the hurricane damage and tornado damage as well. Those will be temporary till the damage is repaired!!

An update on that Aug job report. It came out today that there were exactly ZERO jobs created for August!! the Market tanked 240+ points on the dow!! Dam that stimulus worked so WELL!!! A zero job rate hasn’t been recorded since near the end of the great depression!!!

On another topic, Government cannot do anything to improve the economy your primise is all backward, stopping looking for part-time politicians to come up with solutions. These people “all of them” are the problem! I repeat “GOVERNMENT CANNOT CREATE ANYTHING” expect possibly misery!

You need to take a course in economics. Government spending, by definition, is a stimulus even if some of it is wastful. I am not advocating chaos in government spending, but you don’t have a clue as to how economics works during a business cycle.

Government spending more then it takes in is by definition treasonus! Yes the government needs to live by our standards, if you spend more then what you have, you go bankrupt. You need the economics lesson more then the rest.

Maybe that is the problem Bear the buck keeps getting passed back and forth and no one owns up to it.The Democrats see the problem with our health care system and are attempting to correct the discrepancies in what hasn’t worked in the past and that were plentiful. The Republicans work tirelessly to sabotage any reform instead of fixing those failures of the past.If the Republicans had worked with private insurers in keeping costs down health care wouldn’t have been such an urgent issue.

Consider the payroll tax cut extension that Obama supports and wants to continue. This would help working class and middle class families. The GOP is opposing this tax cut extension despite all their rhetoric and pledges about taxes. What is with this? It seems that the GOP will oppose ANYTHING Obama supports even when he is doing the right thing. It is time both sides got off their intractable high horses and doing right for the country instead of stubbornly clinging tho their memorized mantras.

And for all those who worship the Constitution and believe that all compromise is evil… do a little reading and you will learn that the Constitution, one of the most significant documents ever created by our species, is a triumph of compromise between honorable individuals with differing points of view. No one doubted that the all loved our brand new country, but had varying views on how it should be structured. It is time to get good faith negotiations back into politics and start putting the needs of the country before petty ideologies.

The country is evolving as human knowledge expands and global circumstances change. We, as a species are evolving (sorry creationists), as technology, medical science, and environment influences impact human life. It is time our leaders started dealing with what our country and our world can become in ways that preserve the best of what we have been and build upon it for the benefit of all.

As a fourth generation Republican, I left the party and became an independent. Most of what I see in local and national politics a scrambling for re-election, vilifying opponents in an appeal to more intellectually challenged constituents, and a cynical dumbing down of political speech into sound bites for the media.

Read the writings of our brilliant founding fathers. Read anything even approaching their command of language and depth of thought lately? Seen any politician on the horizon with their sense of honor? Not too often.

The founding fathers had very different points of view, yet they were able to overcome their differences and create the country we all love. Let us honor their legacy and try to move forward together by rising above petty nonsense an seek real solutions to our country’s problems. All this petty bickering and “gotcha” debates is accomplishing nothing.

While your comment is true concerning Ron Paul, he has never violated his oath of office by violating the Constitution in an way. Can you say that about any other “career” politician? Not likely.You might start looking into their voting records for the answer (in case you don’t believe me).

If Ron Paul is the Republican choice (and we still have a long time) I’ll vote for him, but I don’t agree with him on several issues. If he’s not, then I will vote for the Republican candidate. I’m not writing in anybody’s name because I can’t take another 4 years of Obama. I won’t take that chance.

Even one of the most rabid party line democrats said obama was wrong to schedule the speach opposit the GOP debate. The following two lines show that.

The choice really needs no thought. I am not even a football fan and I would choose football over the current President. Let me see, a game I would probably find little interest in, or a President whose so predictable that he will talk jobs while proposing the very thing that will destroy jobs? Oh wait! Let me listen to another jobs destruction speech… no, not really. How about I spend my time reading about how to really create jobs and wealth instead? Because after our government has driven America into extreme poverty, maybe just maybe, some of us will preserve the knowledge of freedom and how that creates wealth. More government jobs programs, more government regulations, more government jobs, this will all destroy American job creation. Stop creation of the private sector. You know that part of the economy that actually FUNDS government. The more that government gobbles up, the less the private sector grows and eventually it will shrivel up and disappear. Remember what government gives, government can control and take. If the government can force your employer to pay you a raise, or to make someone hire you, then government can control your wages and your job. Government controls you. You only let yourself be deluded into thinking the control stops at your employer.

It’s just going to be another speech, which he is famous for anyway. This country needs less talk and a lot more action! The only problem his ACTION is to put MORE regulations on business and farmers that will cost billions when we are struggling now.
He wants to give another speech oh wow how exciting. I saw a movie RECENTLY that expresses the sentiment perfectly DULLSVILLE.

Well Hooray I just heard on the radio Obama halted this proposal and withdrew it.
That is a great tactic, make up a lot of retsrictions on the businesses and then just to show how really great he is (NOT) he takes them away. That’s right up there with not spending money you don’t have is saving money you don’t have.

The real problem is that ZERO will not be able to watch the Packers and Saints play after he comes in from the Golf Course. HaHaHaHaHa

He is always late for his meetings or speeches so he may have to run late. When someone consistently runs late it shows a blatant disregard for others who weren’t late.
