10 Years After

August 31, 2011 by

10 Years After

I almost decided against writing a column about the upcoming anniversary of the darkest American day in the past 60 years or so. After all, what could I possibly say that hasn’t already been said? I remember 9/11 in vivid detail, but so does everyone born before 1996. I could scribble some maudlin verse, pulling the drapes on your soul for the day; but with the possible exception of the management of Dailykos.com and some of the population of Dearborn, Mich., everyone finds the memories of that foul day miserable already. Between now and Sept. 11, you’re going to be bombarded with every horrifying image the media can dredge up and plaster across your television screen.

Instead, I’m going to lighten the mood by speaking directly to the perpetrators of those dastardly deeds on that deadly day. Here’s hoping they have Wi-Fi in the caves of Waziristan, Pakistan.

All right, Islamofascists, pay attention when I say 9/11 was a big moment. I’ll admit it: You cleaned our clocks. Your act of bloodthirsty savagery brought the world to a halt. Even the Japanese, who still think World War II ended badly, had to have been impressed. And you have certainly marked us up since then. However, to deploy some of that sports colloquia of which we Americans are so fond: Have you looked at the scoreboard lately?

You blew it. If your goal was to divide us to the point of collapse, then I’ve got bad news, boys: All you did was change the subject. Sure, we’ve wrapped the rope of paranoia around our own necks, but we’ll never choke ourselves out; we’re pulling the noose in both directions. Our intramural fight has been roaring across the fruited plain since long before you waged your first jihad against the kid who took your falafel money back at the madrassa.

You also fumbled in the backfield when it came to scouting. You placed 19 of your best jihadists inside the United States. They learned to fly passenger jets; and even without bothering to learn superfluous details such as taking off and landing, that left a lot of time for strip clubs (which Mohammed Atta and the gang evidently exploited with vigor). Then, they commandeered four airplanes and hit the eastbound prayer rugs one last time before dragging 2,973 accursed infidels into the inferno.

I hate to burst your bubble, guys, but was that the best you could do? Years of planning, doubtless millions of dollars (in singles, of course) and down-to-the-minute execution, and your plan to bring Western society to its knees by striking at the heart of its greatest city couldn’t net a body count higher than the seating capacity at a minor league ballpark? Even factoring in the military heroes who have fallen since we began mowing you down, we’ve still given up fewer people than a good night at Madison Square Garden. In fact, you clowns are no longer a guaranteed sell for the lead story — especially if we’re taking one of our politicians down a notch.

We kill each other over a good place in line for the Thanksgiving doorbuster sale at Best Buy™. About a century and half ago, we fought a war during which we would bury 9/11’s worth in an hour. And that war was an intrasquad scrimmage. For that matter, take a look at our murder rate. For that matter, notice how many of your compatriots we’ve martyred in the past decade. From my perspective, the last thing you want to do when you see two guys outside your weight class throwing punches is to convince them to stop pounding on each other and come after you.

It took us 10 years (actually longer), but we finally treated your MVP to the proverbial dirt nap. Osama bin Laden hid from us in his gilded cage, but despite a national debate which makes your soccer riots look like an argument over who gets the last petit fours at the Junior League social, we still managed to air condition his cranium. We never quit. And we multitask: We stopped swatting at each other only long enough to start swatting you.

Add to that the fact that you’ve pretty much stamped your own expiration date. You either die when the plane hits the building, or you die when your explosives-laden van gets lit up by some Ranger sharpshooter, or you die when the Ranger sharpshooter pings you before you can start the explosives-laden van or, worse, we capture you. Waging jihad against the United States creates a pretty short career arc.

While it is certainly true that our nation is as divided as it has been since perhaps the end of the Civil War, I would venture that that division, while magnified by differing attitudes regarding the best response to Islamofascism, is just that: magnified, not created.

Perhaps that’s the best lesson for the potential terrorists — although, I expect their learning curve is flatter than the ratings curve for a Charlie Sheen comeback. We already hate each other, so trying to spook us with the Islamofascist version is merely going to grab our attention. And trust me, Akbar (or whatever), once you grab our attention, you might as well don the Semtex waistcoat — because not even Allah will save you (not that he was particularly interested to begin with). In a best-case (by your twisted standards) scenario, you only get waterboarded at Guantanamo Bay.

Ten years have passed, and look at what you’ve gained. Thousands of your fellow misfits are ululating in front of Allah. Actually, they probably aren’t ululating in front of Allah, unless he has taken a field trip to the underworld. You’re either living in caves or some godforsaken desert. Every time you leave your yurt, you have to look both ways for cruise missiles before crossing the goat path. The only countries willing to talk to you are hardly countries at all — unless someone did some serious cleanup in Somalia. We’ve made some errors since 9/11, but we can fix those with a relatively nonviolent election next November. I don’t like your odds of surviving to next November.

When I was a wee lad, my grandfather took me down to lower Manhattan to see the World Trade Center. Poppy and I stood underneath one of the towers and marveled at the illusion created by the stupendous height of the building: The tower was actually curving back over us. That was 35 years ago. You knocked down the building, and yet, I still remember that day with my grandfather as if it happened yesterday. You tried to take that memory from me, and you failed.

In response to 9/11, we took some steps which constitute overreaction. We scared the kids — and ourselves — a good bit. We even turned more of our rage against ourselves than is particularly healthy. Some Americans even cheer your madness. But we survived 9/11, and we will survive anything else you might try to hurl in our direction.

So, happy anniversary to Islamofascists near and far. We got you a present. If you peek outside the cave, you’ll probably see the delivery truck. It’s marked “U.S. Marines.” Enjoy.

Wow Ben. You brought out every retard, idiot, conspiracy theorist, etc.! I will say this, as someone who was there in person. It was the planes flown by Muslim scumbags that were responsible. There was no conspiracy. The targets they chose were excellent ones. The intent was to destroy the financial heart of the US (Trade Centers), the Pentagon (Strategic Target) and the White House (which was the plane the passangers brought down in Pa. Excellent target selection. And except for the Trade Center buildings, the balance of the attack was not really successful. Minimal damage and loss of life at the Pentagon, and the White House plane, destroying the White House and the President (although the President was not there) would have overshadowed the Trade Center destruction, had the President been in the White House, and the White House destroyed. Which makes me ask those ‘dumber than a box of rocks’ conspiracy fools – “why would a Government Conspiracy try and kill themselves”? Oh, you couldn’t think that far in advance! You’re still thinking about those evil ‘right wing Republican terrorists’. Oh, by the way – those terrorists are all registered Democrats, not Republicans! Do you know how you can tell instantly? They are the ones with jobs, who are working, and not asking for more and more Government hand-outs. They BOUGHT their Social Security with their own money, which the liberal spenders took, replacing what they took with IOU’s. That is not an ‘Entitlement’. It was a purchased annuity. Medicare is an ‘entitlement’. Food stamps are an ‘entitlement’. Not Social Security. But then, only the people who work know that. The rest of you fools keep drinking the Kool Aide.

Want JOBS? Get rid of the gazillion regulations on business. repeal Obamacare. Get rid of Obama. The economy will BOOM! There are Hundreds of the Steve Jobs types in this country just waiting to be unleashed. Steve, get well quick. You’re a giant of an American.

    • Jim

      spxz,
while I whole heartedly agree with the second half of your post,
why in the world do you think they would be destroying the “financial heart” of america (your words)? Do you think ALL of america’s money, as well as ALL of america’s instruments of trade were stored in those two buildings? Why not hit the Federal reserve building, or the treasury …
You go on to ask why the conspiracists would want to kill themselves?
you said “had the president been there” .. how can you speculate so far out?
THEY DIDN’T – did you notice, none of them were where they could be harmed, especially our military defense …
Yes, the muslims may have flown planes into those buildings, but anyone with ANY sense of scientific curiousity would have understood by now that those planes are not what brought the buildings down!

      • Capitalist at Birth

This has been proven by several scientific organizations. Refuting all of the crazy inside job theories. Popular Mechanics for one. There have been several documentaries where the facts have been reviewed. Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows that a Passenger Jet loaded with jet fuel crashing into a high rise building will cause it to collapse. I was at home getting ready to leave for work, when my wife, who was watching the news, told me to watch it. My first remark to her, was that the building would collapse. My father was an engineer and he agreed.

      • Jim

Capitalist at birth, Please, could you direct me to ONE (1) ONE,
instance in history where ANY airplane took a superstructure down.
How about the Empire State building when it was struck …
oh wait, only minimal damage, oh well..
But please open my eyes to just ONE event …

      • DaveH

It’s like the theory of airplanes popping like a balloon if their fuselage is penetrated by a bullet. People believe what they want to believe.

      • Vicki

        Jim says:
“Capitalist at birth, Please, could you direct me to ONE (1) ONE,
instance in history where ANY airplane took a superstructure down.”

I can direct you to one. Sept 11,2001. Not just 1 but 2 superstructures taken down by crashing 2 airplanes into the structures.

  • OttoV

I am glad Bill Clinton wasn’t the president during 9/11. H would have bombed more Christians in Serbia then sat on his thumb as usual.

    • http://gunner689 gunner689

Monica would have sat on his thumb. where is that little slut these days ? She probably doesn’t have any problems getting a date.

  • 2WarAbnVet

If all that is written in this article is true; then why do we have a government with leaders who stedfastedly refuse to admit that we have a deadly enemy? I believe I know the answer to my question, but do you?

    • OttoV

Yes, Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton

      • 45caliber

Our ‘deadly enemy’ has moved into the White House.

  • Salamidab

Wish we could find Jesus. He was stuck in some hole in the ground too but we have no trace of him. He was dead right? He could give us some answers. Get special forces on that.

    • 45caliber

It isn’t hard to find Jesus. You’re just looking in the wrong place.

  • nick beck

I was in the demolition bus. for 15 yrs. including explosive demo. as A. Lincoln said — you can fool some of the people all the time and all of the people some of the time BUT NOT ALL THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME. I would make the safest bet of my life and put ALL of my estate on the FACT that the 2 planes were incidental to the fall of the buildings PERIOD…..If the population were not so dumbed out and with their heads voluntarily in the sand this would come to light. too many are FOOLS i sorry to say. They insist on swollowing sh. all the time.

    • Connie

Why would it have been an inside job? Do you conspiracy jokers not believe the jihadists could have managed to plant explosives in the World Trade Towers? They have done such as this elsewhere, why not here? These low life killers are quite good at blowing things, and themselves, up – on a regular basis.

      • Capitalist at Birth

World Trade Center Garage 1993. There are probably people who believe that was an inside job too.

      • Mark Are

LOL! The only guy who believes that was a conspiracy is the guy who built the bomb for the FBI and planted it…

      • http://www.ae911truth.org/ Jacques Cuse

Yes, indeed! Please read up on that one and find out how the government let the 1993 bombing happen and how the secret service was actually involved…

The same is true for many other so-called attacks. Take for instance the Oklahoma Murrah Building. The following link is an official report on the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. Which was prepared by Brigadier General Benton K. Partin, USAF (Retired) and dated July 30, 1995.

        http://whatreallyhappened.com/RANCHO/POLITICS/OK/PARTIN/ok5.htm

The report was submitted to the U.S. Congress and is a matter of the Congressional Record. And what do you think Congress actually did whit this outstanding and thorough report? Zilch, Nada!

In my eyes these kind of ‘inside jobs’ can’t even be called that because the U.S. government is actually very much so anti-American. They are working for the puppet masters while their pay-check comes from their lawful employer, the U.S. population. They ought to be hung for high treason, all of’em…

    • 45caliber

As an engineer who designs equipment and buildings, you are wrong. Steel begins to lose its strength at 600 degrees. At about 1200 degrees, it can fail easily.

The burning plane fuel easily heated those columns to well over a thousand degrees. The weight on the floors above it would cause the columns to fail without any difficulty. The hammer blow of the collapse would cause those beams below it to fail, which is exactly what happened.

It didn’t require any explosives to cut those columns as you seem to believe. All it would take is enough heat.

      • CJM

Thankfully, 45c, a breath of freash air—you are correct and what you stated has been proven time and time again. Unfortunately, the conspirator believers have difficulty in dealing with the truth–especially those who support these bullish thugs (I have better names for them, but the monitor won’t allow them to be printed).

      • Song

Yes thank you 45 for being a level head in “conspiracy land”. Your examples and your experience are evident in your posts and carry much more credibility with me than the obtuse attacks against them which hold about as much water as the theory of global warming…

  • Mirage

Yo, President Obama, you’ve been doing a horrible job so far of leading our country, but, Ben ment to congratulate you for having Bin Laden killed on your watch. Ditto for also recently killing their second man in charge. He couldn’t give you credit for anything, because apparently, as a man who puts party first, country second, that would be grounds for dismisal from the grand puppet masters.
Any way, so much for the charge that America is somehow less safe during your presidency than under Bush, or that somehow you’re part of a muslim conspiracy, a Kenyan who was not born in America … intentional hyperbole designed to demonize and deflect serious talk about the real issues.
Now, how about the commulative parties of the D’s, R’s, and T’s focusing less on party agenda, and more on doing something together, for the sake of the economy and the country … as in; WTF are the jobs????

  • Salamidab

The “Fat Lady” is warming up but the factories in Pakistan and China are louder.

  • Richard

One day they can knock on our doors with big guns and say, we are here to help you, we are taking you to a camp for your own good. That is because we are “free and home of the brave” lol

  • Viper

I was particularly interested in the paragraph where noted the fact about the mistakes we have made and how we can easily fix them with an election. (Well said) I urge you Sir to take off the gloves from this point on. Letting the world know what loser’s are what they look like what they sound like unfortunately well they smell like does more harm to trasmed and the boys and rallies our spirits .Well done. Keep em coming until we (WE) right the final chapter

  • Richard

Why in the world would someone want to me micro managed by other people selfish who don’t know or care about them? That’s crazy!!! In society some rules are needed, but when you have too many and they infringe in people’s free choice and will, it becomes tyranny. Some people just tove to live in the cage I guess. People like that should go to a place like China, where big brother even tells you if you sould have a kid or not. So much for land of the free with people like that. lol

  • Earth

Ben Crystal ought to do his homework before writing politically correct articles.
It has been proven beyond doubt that 9/11 was an inside job.
Bush Jnr, the CIA and various Jews concoted this tragedy.
That gave them the excuse to invade any contry that under the false flag as “War on Terror”
The Terror is right here at home.
It is called Bush, Clinton, the FED,etc.

  • FlaJim

Somehow, we’ve managed to avoid another catastrophe like 9/11 for the past year and a half. At least, the Bush administration was vigilent and wasn’t in bed with the moslems, followers of that ‘peaceful religion.’ In fact, we’ve foiled over 40 plots against us since we got our guard up.

The moslems think they may be gaining ground here but they’re sadly mistaken if they’re looking in only Dem strongholds. In the real America, what the elite like to call ‘cross over country,’ we don’t take any crap and we’re well armed.

On 9/11, I was watching the news and became a conduit on line for many who were working and had no TV or radio access. The images from that day are still fresh. I will never forget nor forgive.

Well written, Ben. I’ve forwarded your article to several others.

    • 45caliber

I agree. The MSM says we are terrified and the jihadists believe them. Actually, the only ones who might be terrified are the libs who simply cannot understand why people they are bribing to be friends would do this to them.

  • Moose

Jorge, you can shove your theory up your xxx. I was there ,I watched the planes target the trade center. Go back to what ever hole in the ground you came from.

    • Jack

I guess there is no way we can ever bury all the conspiracy theories, no matter how many times it has been misproven.

      • Jemave

        Jack;

Please who debunk the conspiracy theory?
The biggest conspiracy theory is the one blasted by the government and its slave media for the sheeples to gobble.

      • Libertarian

well, there is NO way one can make eveybody take note of the OBVIOUS!

there are lots of resources out there. Google: “DEBUNK THIS”, both the full movie on line or the individual parts, as well as “33 Conspiracy theories that proved to be right”.

      • Rusticus

        Jack,

There are conspiracy theories. There are also facts that include analysis and information that the govt wants you to ignore. They have programmed you so that all they have to do is call any mention of these facts a conspiracy theory and you will dutifully put on your blinders and ignore them.

The official explanation for 9-11 is crap. I don’t know exactly what happened on 9-11 but I do know with certainty that the govt explanation is a lie.

      • 45caliber

If you want an engineering explaination for the collapse, read my note below.

      • DaveH

If nothing else, watch the collapse of one of the towers early in the film. Note the severe damage at entry point. Note that each floor was engineered to withstand the weight of all above floors. Why didn’t the area at entry point asymmetrically collapse almost immediately after the crash, at which point due to the explosion of the plane the heat would have been greatest? Yet the lower floors start collapsing in an orderly fashion supposedly due to burning jet fuel. Why would heat so intense as to weaken the structural supports, not also blow out the windows and be seen to billow smoke?
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t93pXjBUA7o
Most of all, why are so many people so sheepishly willing to dismiss any evidence of foul play by Governments that have been known to create false-flag events virtually every time they need to rally the support of the citizens for yet another war? It’s gotten so bad now, that a supposedly anti-war President can involve us in an Unconstitutional war with the meekest excuse of the bad guy being an atrocious murderous dictator (and has been for decades), and a large portion of our population meekly goes along.
        Can we say Baa-a-a, Baa-a-a, Baa-a-a?

      • 45caliber

        DaveH:

The reason the floor didn’t collapse at the point of entry of the plane is called “safety factor”. In anything we design, we have safety factors included. Some of them are actually built into the calculations we use – generally a 50% safety factor AT LEAST. We also tend to add our own safety factors. For instance, if I calculate that a 8″ x 60 lb/ft wide flange beam will support some load safely, I will usually use a 10″ beam – which will usually double (at least) the safety factor. We also have “corrosion allowances” and other such safety factors we add in. One thing we don’t want to do is kill someone because we missed a decimal point or because we want to save some money on material (which is the cheapest part of something).

The floors above were still supported by three sides. That will do the job without a problem. BUT … once the beams on those three sides were heated, all safety factor disappeared.

Take a rod and heat the middle of it. If you are pushing on the top end, it will suddenly fold in the middle – and it doesn’t take much of a push once it is hot enough. In fact, with the right heat, it will fall on its own under its own weight. That is what was done – regardless of what you may wish to think. As I’ve heard many times while working as an engineer – “Equations don’t lie.”

Besides, consider the pilot. They would have to know exactly where any explosives might have been installed. They would have to come in at the precisely correct angle on the precise floor. They would have to come in at an exact speed to prevent exploding the explosives early. And so on. On the other hand, if they depended soley upon the heat, none of this mattered. I think they would take the easy way. Further, the only other way would be for someone to run up there and plant some explosives AFTER the planes had struck. And there would have been no time to escape the explosion after they planted them. While I know Americans have done that when they were doing good, I doubt if you could find any Americans to deliberately kill themselves just to help some politician start a war.

      • 45caliber

Also, Dave, heat doesn’t have to shock a window enough to blow it out to heat beams. And smoke doesn’t have to not billow. Frankly, after the strike of the plane, there weren’t that many whole windows on that floor anyway. A window explodes because too much heat hits it too fast for the glass to expand on one side while not expanding on the other side where the air is cooling it. It can also melt it out. You don’t need white heat to heat the steel enough to bend – a normal house fire can do that. Take a look at the wreckage of a house fire some time. There are steel pipes in many of them. A normal fire will heat steel enough to seriously weaken it – and this fire was fueled by jet fuel.

      • Ralph

After the initial fireball ignition which lasted only seconds, the subsequent fires in the building were mostly office fire, i.e. furniture, clothing, floor tiles, curtains, papers, etc and none of these could even hope to weaken hardened much less melt steel

      • DaveH

Safety factors? Oh yeah the same ones that allow jet fuel to leak symmetrically around a building so that the floors collapse evenly and the building comes straight down. Oh, but I forget, the radical islamics were so intelligent that they struck the building precisely at the point where the fuel would then leak just right to bring the building straight down. Just ignore the fact that the strike point was anything by symmetrical.
And then there’s this, Tower 7, not touched by the collisions:
        http://firefightersfor911truth.org/?page_id=158

You’re in the wrong profession, 45. You could save the demolition experts tons of money since their carefully placed explosives are just a waste of time.

      • DaveH

You’re grasping at straws, 45 — “They [pilots] would have to know exactly where any explosives might have been installed”. Oh, they would, would they? And pray tell, why? You really think anybody would notice some prematurely detonated explosives when a plane is exploding into a building?
Yet you think they would count on the randomness of fuel spray from an exploding airplane to bring the building down?
As far as finding people to die, that would be easy. I don’t know why you would assume they had to be Americans. They probably really did think that they were dying for their cause. In fact, according to things I’ve read, most of them didn’t know it was a suicide mission. Think about all the servicemen in the middle east who really believe that they are dying for our Freedom. People are gullible. If they weren’t everything would be wonderful and there would never be tyrants.
I should add that decades ago I remember people arguing vehemently that the Lusitania was not carrying contraband. People prefer to keep their heads in the sand. That is a fact.
And maybe you could explain to me why the vast majority of the perps were Saudi Arabian, yet we left Saudi Arabia untouched?

      • 45caliber

LOL. Dave, you should so some study on engineering. Or talk to a good civil engineer since they design those buildings.

First, how would the pilot know which floor to hit? How would they know they could actually hit that floor? How would they know that the explosives would not go off the moment they hit?

Second, both planes were loaded with fuel. They hadn’t flown enough to use up much of it so there was lots of fuel. Yeah, you’ll get a fire ball – from the vaporized fuel in the tanks. But most of the fuel will remain liquid and will be thrown all over the entire floor. The fire ball (blast) will take out all the walls leaving only the steel. Sheet rock doesn’t stand up to blast very well. The fuel burns – but there isn’t enough wood or other flammables on the floor to make a really good fire.

I know I’m running down the theory you like but it is fact, after all. Even scientists dislike to see their theories go down in smoke because the facts don’t back them up.

      • 45caliber

        Ralph:

If a wood fire in a home can weaken steel and cause it to sag so can an office fire. That’s why they put insulation on the columns in multi-story buildings. They give it an hour to try to have time to get as many people out as possible.

However, the fuel does NOT explode all at once. The fire ball came ONLY from the vapors in the ruptured tanks and what initial vapor was released. You can weld on a tank full of gasoline safely (and we do it all the time when the tank leaks) if the weld is below the liquid level. The liquid will not burn. But it certainly can be spread by the blast to burn. There was a LOT of fuel on those two planes. It would take awhile to burn.

      • DaveH

        45,
Don’t be condescending. You know nothing of my knowledge base. I doubt you could stand up to me in any kind of science test. I WAS an engineer (aeronautical). And I’ve spent a lifetime doing things that were outside the range of my employment discipline (building sheds, furniture, masonry, etc.). I have no mental handicaps.
If you want to get nasty, I would be happy to oblige you.
I thought I made it clear in my other comment that it wouldn’t matter if they set off some of the explosives? For such an educated guy, you can’t figure out that one explosive won’t set off the others? If that were the case, demolition experts would be out of work. Their expertise lies in setting off explosives differentially so that the walls collapse the way they want them to collapse, so as not to damage adjacent buildings. When surrounded by other buildings, they want the walls to collapse inward, so they must blow out center supports first, then outer supports, in a very controlled fashion. If one explosive set off the others they wouldn’t have much control, would they?
Obviously, by your statement that “both planes were loaded with fuel”, I can deduce that you didn’t read the article that I linked to. What? Are you afraid you’ll learn something?

Jet planes nearly full of jet fuel cause explosions that resulted in a little thing called heat transfer, weakening both complete structures, causing them to collapse. For the conspiracy nutcases that do not understand how that works, hold a torch to a metal rod for 20 minutes and then grab the other end. Hurts don’t it?

For the nut who asks why they only hit the twin towers because they are symbols, and why not hit strategic targets, I ask then what the hell is the Pentagon considered to be? Where was the PA plane heading?

DaveH-Totally agree with you. Most Americans believe the manipulated news media and until they realize it,the sheep will follow the lies.

      • 45caliber

        Daniel:

I agree with you. As an engineer I have to deal with steel and heat all the time.

If anyone wants a good demonstation of what happened, all they have to do is go to the local hardware store and pick up an iron/steel rod. Then they heat the middle of it with a torch. As soon as it gets hot enough, it will bend. To make things simple, that is exactly what happened at the WTC.

The columns are insulated – for one hour rating. Heat will transmit through insulation (after all, why does your insulated house get warm in the summer heat without AC?). It just takes awhile longer with insulation. Once the steel is heated enough, it fails. Very simple. But to people hunting someone to blame, it is too simple.

      • DaveH

Did you read the above link, 45?
You are comparing apples to oranges. A torch (depending on type of fuel) can burn at anywhere from 2600 deg F (butane) to 6300 deg F (oxy/acetylene), and on top of that your example is concentrating that torch at a particular spot, neither of which would have been the case with the burning jet fuel.

      • 45caliber

        DaveH:

You are quite correct about the heat of a torch – which is required to melt steel at about 2300 F. Addition of oxygen will burn the steel just as wood will burn – that’s how a torch can cut steel. It actually burns the steel away.

BUT – we are NOT talking about melting the steel for this failure. We are talking about the loss of strength of steel members. There is a BIG difference there. Engineers consider steel to have lost so much strength at 1200 F that it won’t even support it’s own weight. It bends and collapses. Nor does it have to be heat applied to just one point to cause it to bend at that point. If the entire thing is heated (as can be done in some ovens) then where it fails depends entirely upon the actual chemical makeup of the steel at any point. No two steels will bend at the exact same point but they both will bend. In this case, it was almost a classic oven since the fire and heat was sucking in air (oxygen). The beams didn’t need to be heated at one point and weren’t.

In addition, building steel is really the cheapest steel there is. As a result it’s composition isn’t exactly the same from one point to another. Trust me – it collapsed due to heat even if you would like to blame someone in our government.

      • 45caliber

        DaveH:

Want to see an actual failure like the WTC?

Find a company in your area that makes vessels. Most of them will have a heat-treating oven. The ovens are used to evenly heat the vessel steel to a certain temp (which you set) and then cool it off slowly to eliminate any welding stresses.

Make a simply building. All you will need are some rods and a floor on top. You can even weld them together if you like. A couple of floors would be even better.

Then put your construction in the oven and heat it up to see when it fails – and how it failes. You will have duplicated the WTC failure.

But I’ll let you pay for the cost. The only ones who have been willing to pay for this sort of thing are those who do the actual experiments to determine things like the strength of steel at various temps.

      • DaveH

Why didn’t the building then bend and collapse asymmetrically at the point of impact where the oxygen would have been greatest and the heat therefore would have been greatest? Have you ever tried to construct such sample as you described and then weaken the structure on one side? Does it fall straight down?
Did you even read the article I posted about the amount of heat that would have been generated by the worst case scenario?
Your argument doesn’t cut it with me. But feel free to believe whatever you want, 45.

      • Vicki

From the videos I have seen at least one tower top did list to the side as it collapsed.

Jet-a fuel burns in open air (no wind) at about 260-315°C (500-599°F)
        http://www.mepetroleum.com/jet_fuel.htm

I notice from the videos that there is quite a bit of wind at the altitude of the fires. It is reasonable to presume that between the jet-a and the office furniture the temp far exceeded the mere 600 degrees of jet-a open air burn.

Having been to a few big fires (Oakland Hills oct 20 1991 for 1) I can tell you that wood and other assorted items which burn in open air at around 451F get quite a bit hotter when pushed by 60 mph winds down a canyon. Melting aluminum street signs and softening metal of cars are just some of the effects.

      • Ralph

Jet fuel will burn approximately 1100f when it is reduced to a spray form and mixed with unlimited supply of oxygen and ignition last only seconds … like a big fireball and then it’s all over. the reinforced steel was not exposed enough time to become heated much over a few hundred degrees … anyone with a IQ above human body temperature can easily see how the government’s version of 9/11 could not be true.

      • 45caliber

        Ralph:

Jet fuel, gasoline, or any other liquid fuel CANNOT burn in a liquid form. It burns as a vapor. Spill some gasoline on the floor and set it afire. Then take a very close look at the flame. The flame is actually just above the liquid gasoline as it burns the vapor that comes off the heated gasoline.

Liquid fuel CAN burn if it is in an enclosed area and subjected to both heat and pressure. That’s what a motor does. And that is normally the temp that is quoted as the temp a fuel burns.

As I stated below, steel weakens as it is heated. At about 1200 F we consider that steel has no strength at all – and even at 1100 F, that is enough to weaken the steek enough to allow it to bend due to the weight overhead. The steel itself did NOT have to melt, only weaken.

      • Vicki

And there was more than Jet-A fuel in the towers. There was lots and lots of office furniture and stuff to feed the fire long after all the Jet-A might have been consumed.

      • Vicki

Let us look for a moment at a common house fire. Fed by furniture, much like an office fire, The temp can quickly reach 1100 F or even higher. And that is without any wind to accelerate the burn.

Another ref to just how hot and how fast a fire spreads

        The Power of Fire

        http://www.linksabound.com/fss/fss1_ch01.html

search for the words “The Power of Fire”

      • Kate8

        Vicki – That’s true.

Some years back we had a major forest fire here. My boss’s house was the first to go. The burning trees and brush surrounding his house, even though they were cleared back, were so hot that the house simply exploded from the intense heat.

He had a tractor in the lower garage, and it melted to the ground.

      • Ralph

Daniel, chemistry or science wasn’t your favorite school topic was it …. jet fuel can only burn at a certain temperature and no hotter, while steel only melts at a vastly different temperature. The point being that jet fuel cannot melt steel since it can’t reach the higher temps need for melting steel. Reinforced steel inside a fire fed by jet fuel will never melt … even if it last for years. Only a thermite based fire could melt that steel core in the Twin Towers.

      • 45caliber

You are wrong. STeel does NOT have to melt to lose its strength. It can bend due to a loss of strength far before it melts. If you believe it had to melt to drop the weight of the floors above, you are sadly wrong.

      • Ralph

A fireball is just that … its over in seconds and doesn’t have enough time to even get the steel hotter than a few hundred degrees.

      • 45caliber

See my note on it to you below. VAPOR burns and explodes. LIQUID does not. It only spreads out.

      • Vicki

Ralph. Physics and science weren’t your favorite topics in school either were they? As I have pointed out before JetA can burn hot enough to weaken steel but the whole jet fuel argument is a red herring. All the fuel that was needed to reach temperatures high enough to seriously weaken or melt steel was provided by the office furniture and other combustibles that can clearly be seen burning long after the last of the jet fuel would have been exhausted.

See my posts above for examples and links.

After World War II, America should have become neuteral. The western European nations should have united against the former Soviet Union, and the southeastern Asain nations should have united against China. Most of all, our country should have kept its industrial base and strength, and not eventually and gradually transfer and ship its industrial base south of the border to Latin America, and overseas to Asia. This way, our country would have both a strong industrial and military strength. Also and most of all, the United States should have never allowed the United Nations to be established, which resulted in laxing our immigraton policies, especially torwards and with underdeveloped third world nations. This way foreigners immigrating to our country would not become breeding ground for drug and terror related problems, crime and violence. Also and most of all, our forefathers fought and even put their lives on the line for our freedoms, which we know, have and enjoy today. We should not have to change or alter those freedoms, for the rights and liberties of foreign extremists and foreign terrorists to accomplish their means to attack and destroy our nation, and overtake and rule us, most of all.

    • http://gunner689 gunner689

Bill: I sympathise with your ideas. The only problem is what should have happened never would have. Western Europe and all of Asia would have fallen to Communist domination. America and maybe the British Commonwealth would have been left alone in a sea of totaliarn obressive gvts. America took on the mantle as the chief protector of the Free World. It’s been a massive chess game throughout the Cold War and we did make our fair share of mistakes. Now the Western World faces a new threat, that of Muslim domination. The question is that if we, as a free people, have the will to not only defend ourselves but to defeat this new face of evil. A good first start would be to get out of the UN and get the UN off our shores.

The claims make no sense when compared with the videos. So I can’t write a letter to any so-called jihadists when I no longer believe jihadists did it. The culprits are more likely to be found in Washington DC or in their own homes elsewhere in the US than in the Moslem world. • DaveH
      • Kate8

        DaveH – Interesting article.

There is no doubt that the Romans hijacked the Messianic Jewish movement (they weren’t called Christians prior to Constantine) for their own purposes, and made it into something Yeshua wouldn’t recognize. It was either join or be fed to lions. The new church merged with paganism, and is the Harlot spoken of in Revelation, and those offshoots from her, her daughters. It was all for expanding the Roman Empire.

Why does anyone think that Christians have been admonished from the study of any and all teachings of the ancients that might awaken them to their true spiritual heritage, and the Source of power?

No, these people had to be subdued. And subdued they were.

Jewish esotericsm is filled with ancient wisdom. Secrets for achieving mastery over ourselves and our lives (which have been wildly distorted and turned over to Luciferianism). Christians have been robbed of their true heritage and kept from understanding their roots.

        Thanks for that find.

      • Popeye

Kate8 says: “There is no doubt that the Romans hijacked the Messianic Jewish movement (they weren’t called Christians prior to Constantine) . . . .”

Kate8, Where do you get the notion that believers weren’t called Christians until the time of Constantine?

“. . . And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.” (Acts 11:26)

About a 3-century gap here. Of course, I understand the fact that you clearly have your own “Messianic” agenda here.

      • Kate8

Popeye – Prior to the Roman church, being called “Christian” was no term of endearment. These people were not separate from the Jews…they WERE Jews who had chosen to follow Christ’s teachings.

What did Yeshua say when asked how to achieve salvation? “Take up your cross (life) and follow Me”.

He was a Jew, He kept the Lord’s Feasts, he honored Jewish customs. It was the Pharasees he condemned for their hypocracy and legalism.

His followers remained practicing Jews, attending synagogue on the Sabbath, observing Feasts and customs. (The Feasts were given as a prophetic timeline for God’s people to follow, so they would know how to watch for signs.)

The Roman church sought to capture this movement, since they were getting stronger. So Constantine had a “vision”, and because of this he “accepted” Christ (really?) and, together with the Roman leader of the then “Christians” formed an official universal (catholic) “Christian” Church, changing all times, feasts, doctrine and precepts to meld with the pagan gods and festivals. They changed the “sabbath” (which means seventh) to Sunday, the day of Apollo worship. They also put together the scriptures, deciding which of the writings would be included and which would be left out. In other words, THEY decided which ones were “inspired”.

I don’t know what you think my agenda is here. I’m just speaking historically.

Katrina’s flood was the result of failing levies in a grossly mismanaged and corrupt city. Everyone was told to evacuate, but many chose not to. Then, they expected the fed. govt to take care of them and they began looting. The floods in Nashville last year were far worse than the Katrina floods. Did you see looting or people looking for handouts? No. They pulled together to help one another. As far as the Deepwater Horizon spill, Obama is squarely to blame for letting it go on so long. If he had waived the Jones Act, a ship that sucks 750,000 gallons of oil per day could’ve come into the gulf and removed most of the oil as it was gushing. That ship is routinely used in the middle east. There was a spill in the middle east right after DH began that was far worse but was cleaned up immediately and not reported in the US. It wasn’t reported here because then we would’ve questioned why Obama wasn’t using that route. Obama waited until the well had a temporary cap before he waived the Jones Act to let the ship in and at that point it was no longer needed. One of our biggest problems is the news system that distorts or doesn’t report news that doesn’t meet the liberal agenda.

      • libertytrain

Ellen, I’m not a New Orleans fan but in that city in particular evacuating wasn’t easy for everyone. There’s a whole lot of folks that didn’t have a subway to get on, a car to drive out with, etc… And the lousy mayor sure didn’t help.

      • Angel Wannabe

LT, I have to go with poorly mis-managed & corrupt city of NO. Thousands of school buses sat in water up to there roofs, when they could’ve been used to bus the folks out of there, who had no transportation. A LOT of Katrina fatalities could’ve been stopped.

      • libertytrain

Yep, it was that lazy, egotistical mayor. He helped his own people die and all that needless suffering..

      • CJM

Please don’t blame the mayor–he begged and pleaded with the governor of LA to declare a state of emergency and to use the public school busses to evacuate those who had no transportation. The governor would make no move to assist the beleagured mayor of New Orleans–he did as much as he was able and for this, he gets the shaft. At least the people of LA had the fortitude to change governors in the following election.

      • Vicki

Really? Why does the Mayor have to wait for the Governer to evacuate? In fact their very own emergency plan allows the Governer and/or local officials to act.
        —————————————————————————
The authority to order the evacuation of residents threatened by an approaching hurricane is conferred to the Governor by Louisiana Statute. The Governor is granted the power to direct and compel the evacuation of all or part of the population from a stricken or threatened area within the State, if he deems this action necessary for the preservation of life or other disaster mitigation, response or recovery. The same power to order an evacuation conferred upon the Governor is also delegated to each political subdivision of the State by Executive Order. This authority empowers the chief elected official of New Orleans, the Mayor of New Orleans, to order the evacuation of the parish residents threatened by an approaching hurricane.”
        http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2005/9/4/151327.shtml
        ———————————————————————–

Not only that but many of the busses are owned by the CITY. I.E. in direct and unfettered control of the mayor.

        ———————————————————————–
“The city’s plan also specifically called for the use of city-owned buses and school buses to evacuate the population. These were apparently never deployed, though the Parish of Plaquemines just south of the city evacuated its population using school buses.

The plan, written well before Katrina was even a teardrop in God’s eye, was obviously never heeded or implemented by local leaders.”

    To above comment.
Compromising is what got this country into the mess its in.

Not to detract from this article—A big AMEN, to this article.

  • Moose

    Jemave, you are an idiot

    • Jemave

      Moose,
Keep your head in the sand and let play the Elite Chorus as you please.

Obviously your ability to stretch your mind out of being a conditioned mindless sheeple is impossible.

Please Enjoy the Matrix world in the cocoon created by the powers to suck life out of you.

    • Connie

Moose, I concur. It’s the likes of Jemave who keep this country in a turmoil. Some are anti-religion when more than 70% of the population of America openly agree they believe in God. Then some of these idiots blame the Jews for everything. America was founded on Judeo-Christian principals by individuals who were more than a little aware that the Pilgrims came here to have freedom of religion – as in the right to worship in the manner of their choice, not to be free from religion. Then there are the conspiracy theorist who blame Bush and swear there were no WMDs when in fact there were. All one needs to verify this is to have a close friend or family member in the right place when they were discovered.

This country of ours is on the path of destruction, led by Dumbo in OUR White House who is run by his handler George Soros, as a representative of Bilderberg – the small, but elite, group of the most wealthy in the world who want nothing less than New World Order.

      Great article Ben.

      • Jim

Connie, please review all the facts. Don’t be a gov’t led lemming.
Do you really think that 19 men with sheets on their head could defeat the WORLDS STRONGEST military, with intelligence gathering that boggles the mind?

      • Daniel

They DIDN’T defeat us, which was the whole point of the article–which you apparently didn’t read.

      • Nomadr

Daniel, I really hate to burst your bubble but they are still defeating U.S. you just need to open your eyes to see it! I.E. after 9/11 the U.S. spent millions to “Beef up” security at airports, subways you name it! Do you remember a while back when the news reported “terrorist attack thworted”? They had made explosives that fit into printer cartridges that they were trying to sell to U.S. companies and retail stores at a price that “couldn’t be beat” luckily this terrorist threat was “thworted” really? it cost the terrorist less than $4500 to implement that threat, but it cost U.S. millions to defend against! Are you starting to get the BIG picture? Take a good look at the 10 year war against the U.S.S.R. Who led that war? Osama Binladen! Who trained and armed him and his “army? U.S. How did they win that war? The U.S.S.R. went BANKRUPT and had to back out of that war! See things a little clearer now?

      • CJM

In the first place, jim, these terrorists didn’t have ‘sheets over their heads’ as you claim. In the second place, they did NOT defeat us–is your wife wearing her burkkah? Are you praying 5 times a day? Are your sons providing sexual pleasures to the INFIDEL pedophiles of the Middle East? Are your daughters mutilated so that she is unable to enjoy the sensual intimacy of a marriage? Are you committing ‘honor killings’ of your female household members because they somehow offended your male ego? Really, jim–is this true in YOUR household? It sure as hxxx isn’t in mine.

      • http://www.ae911truth.org/ Jacques Cuse

        Connie, you’re contradicting yourself.

The problem is definitely not people like Jemave but braindead idiots who still think that all of it is a matter of republicans versus democrats. Never heard of “Divide and Rule”? Left or right, it doesn’t matter, behind the scenes they’re best friends happily discussing over a glass of $150 wine how they again managed to raise taxes as well as their salaries and benefits whilst robbing your country and its citizens of their wealth. In their game anything goes, up to and including blowing up government buildings (Oklahoma) or crashing airplanes into towers and ‘pulling’ other ones.

        Cheers!
        JC

      • CJM

jc: Evidently it is the likes of you who are a serious problem and it seems patently clear that you are not a citizen of the United States. As an outsider and terrorist supporter, you would want it to be true that our own government had something to do with the Sept 11 attacks—however, it has been PROVEN that these terrorists from the Middle East are responsible. Take care of the mess in your own country before trying to tell the good citizens of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA how to deal with our situation. We the people are much smarter than you foreigners give us credit for. Your own posting tells us that you are not from here–so unless you have something positive to say, butt out.

    Ben, Ben, Ben.
You STILL believe that someone could hide in a cave and escape the surveillance of the mighty USA spy satellites, and transmit and command from that cave without getting a missile down the microphone inlet!!!!!
Of course it was just an illusory miniaturised airliner that made a 4m hole in the Pentagon before it collapsed!!
And the rate of fall of the towers was due to the magnetics in the area suddenly increasing exponentially. And Building 7 collapsed in its own footprint because of fright at the demise of the other two towers!!!!!

I think that the anger and resentment of the 9/11 should be turned to the people in office on that day. Anyone who has done some diligence on the analysis of what really happened on that day looking carefully at the facts and the physical evidences during and left after the horrific event should conclude that it was not the work of a bunch of Arabic terrorist.
When are we going to get after the real culprit? It is time to wipe out the cabal that rules over Washington and other countries at the expense of humanity.
If we finally have the courage to do this, all 9/11 victims as well as the Iraquis and Afganistan war victims will be vindicated.

    • Nadzieja Batki

      Kindly get over being stupid.

      • Tom

I gave up on MSM about 3 years ago. I later gave up on Fox cable news seeing they had an agenda as well. Now after 3 years of 9/11 factual study, I’m very informed on why 9/11 was done and by whom and why MSM ignored and or modified these facts. The wars were required to feed the defense industry and the Pentagon which are working together to destroy our economy and great nation that it once was. It was hate the Nazis, followed by the communists followed by Muslim extreemists and “terrorism”. What will be our next enemy we have to hate and attack and spend all our tax dollars on? China? UFO’s? It’s anybody’s guess. Peace

      • Forrest Gump

Mama always had a way of explaining things so I could understand them.

I for one would like to read your research. If things are truly as you say, everyone needs to know about them, but how to go about reading that research of yours is anyone’s guess. Do you have it all posted in a blog somewhere that I could read it? Please let me know some way to look into what you have.

        Thanks

      • Kate8

Forrest Gump – There is so much information available on 9/ll it can make your head spin. And from every possible scenario.

I don’t know about anyone else, but putting the pieces together of the entirety of the crisis we find ourselves in requires years of diligent research into numerous sources. No one could begin to lay it out for you in one swath, because you wouldn’t appreciate the extent of the research. And, for those like me, much info has gone into the heap of long-lost sources which have built on one another over time, never to be retrieved without a great deal of effort.

So, I suggest that if you want to learn, get busy. Buy a book if you don’t want to do the work. Buy several books. Go on YouTube and sort through the evidence from all possible angles. And there are many, many articles on the internet.

Then, after seeing what’s out there, you decide.

That’s what the rest of us do.

      • http://irishbillydjr.wordpress.com BravoBilly

Hey NamNavyVet, Being an Old Navy Vet myself, I, too, am very cynical about who is behind everything. I have been spending my time learning what both Liberals and Consevatives believe and have become even more cynical. I run into more and more Veterans riding the bus as we no longer can afford to drive or have medical reasons not to drive. What we all have in common, no matter what conflict we have served or fought in, is that we took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution and Our Country. Now I am starting read that.

I am even reading what Al Quaeda is about. Before long, I will some sort of guru full of all kinds knowlege. I hope that the government will have a better communication than it did prior to 9/11 since it seems that the FBI and CIA knew about the terrorists but did not communicate anything since it was not within jurisdition. I suspect, nothing much will have changed, as the bigger a government gets the more bureaucratic it becomes. Hang in there, Brother.

      • CJM

To whom are you referring as being stupid? It appears to me that you are supportive of the terrorists’ attempts to destroy the United States. Get over it lady, it ain’t gonna happen—and I am far from being stupid.

Hear, hear! It’s good to see that there are Americans who didn’t stick their heads in the sand and who have realized that 9/11 was indeed an inside job. The thousands of architects and structural engineers, the chemists, doctors of physics and demolition specialists from all over the world can’t be all wrong.

It’s no longer the so-called “conspiracy theorists” who should have to prove their points and answer questions, it’s the deniers of the obvious to explain to us why and which rock-hard proof is not valid.

Just explain the “pulling” of WTC building 7, without having the weeks or even months of time for the necessary preparation for such a HUGE demolition job. Just like the towers this building was bullet proof and 7 even had reinforced security bunkers for several government services.

      Start informing yourselves here: http://www.ae911truth.org/

The USA has sported a government of puppets since at least 1913 and quite possibly since 1871. These governments have been helping to take the wealth of all Americans and their US treasury as well as those of other countries.

Please wake up, your government is NOT THERE TO HELP YOU!

      JC

      • Capitalist at Birth

It is a very small minority who believe that nonsense. There are people who will buy into any conspiracy theory around without investigating all of the evidence and facts. Evidently you are one of those people.

      • Mark Are

Oh, yes, the people running “your” government are all saints. They would NEVER do the kind of things other people in other countries would do. They all go to church on Sunday and love GEEZUS and would never hurt you or your family. YOU are a pathetic excuse for humanity if you believe that crap. The fact is Mr/Mrs/Ms “Capitalist at Birth” you have been lied to, screwed, stolen from, and it was by the people RUNNING “YOUR” Government. How can you possibly be that damn dumb?
OH yes, I remember, there is a couple of words that describe your mental condition…cognitive dissonance. That’s it. For you and your ilk:

      • http://www.boblivingstonletter.com/ Bob Livingston

        Dear Capitalist at Birth,

There are many more questions than answers about what happened on 9/11 and the months preceding. Not even the members of the 9/11 Commission believe they got anywhere close to the truth. Unfortunately, most people are no longer asking any question. They have taken the story that was spoon-fed them and accepted it as fact. I discussed people, like you, who lack the inquisitive nature to peel back the layers of propaganda and search for the truth in my Monday column http://www.personalliberty.com/conservative-politics/government/prima-facie/. Governments since the beginning of time have counted on the lack of inquisitiveness of its subjects and, for the most part, have been rewarded. In my column next Monday I will ask some of the questions surrounding 9/11 that have not been answered. I urge you to read it. Most importantly, I urge you look beyond conventional wisdom and search the truth.

        Best wishes,
        Bob

      • Kate8

Capitalist – All I can say is, thank God for conspiracy theorists.

Without them, we’d never learn the truth about anything.

I guess you still haven’t figured out that we live in a world of illusion and deception. It’s not about how things are. It’s how they look.

        Kate8,
And, when people call it an inside job, they don’t always mean Bush did it. Things go on in this government right now that even Obama doesn’t know about.

Sometimes our leaders are led around without even knowing who is doing the leading or that they are even being led. People have been infiltrated into just the right places.

      • Kate8

        Very good point, Jana.

And, as humans tend to do, when they get inside the beltway there is a need to be one of the club. You don’t get far in your career if you aren’t.

There’s always “everyone is doing it”, “you have to go along to get along”…that sort of mentality. Standing up and telling the truth, even as one sees it, can be political suicide, if not the real thing.

Heck, after a while they may actually come to believe that what they are doing is the right thing to do…relatively speaking, of course.

      • Christin

Thanks Bob… looking forward to it.

        Kate8,

Don’t you think it odd that the Capital, housing our White House and the president and the Congress of the United States is not in one of the 50 states… that it is a District… and why ‘District of Columbia’… how does that represent America???

I can’t figure out why they AREN’T in an American state under those same state laws… supporting the nation.

      • Kate8

Christin – Well, I suppose the obvious answer would be that the states were set up to be sovereign, separate and distinct from the federal government.

Now, that is just of the top of my head. A bit of research might turn up something.

      • Jay

I think to understand what truly happened is to observe where we STILL find ourselves today, Afghanistan! If the original purpose of our invasion was retaliation to 911, why are we still there? Have we not exacted sufficient revenge? If the original reason for our invasion was to exact the pound of flesh, that would satisfy our sense of justice in proportion to the crime committed, why we are still there? Surely after 10 years of devastating their country, killing untold numbers of their people, should be sufficient by now to satisfy our sense of justice, and revenge! It seems to me, the answers we seek concerning that faithful day, are in plain view!

      • maggie

Evidently you are one of those people who hasn’t even looked at the evidence. Wake up for goodness sake.

      • maggie

You should maybe google Northwoods documents. That will give you an idea of what the government is capable of.

      • DaveH

Even if the events were factual and not a false-flag attack, the Government enabled that day by making airline passengers into helpless sheep rendered weaponless by a Government that promises us safety. They (with the exception of one rule-flaunting passenger) couldn’t even use their cell phones to report the events thanks to ridiculous Government rules.
But Government has shown that they can’t be trusted in every military action the United States has been involved in, including the Civil War.

      • DaveH
      • Mark Are

        THAT’S RIGHT!

      • CJM

Seems to me DaveH, there was more than one ‘rule flaunting’ passenger who used cell phones on those planes—or did you forget that? How convenient of you.

      • DaveH

        And your point is?

      • Jana

        CJM,
If someone has hijacked your plane and you figure your gonna die, I think its all right to as you say flaunt the rules a little and use your cell phone.

      • DaveH

Think a little about the timeline. Less than a month after 9/11 (October 7) our military was attacking Afghanistan. The 9/11 bodies weren’t even cold yet, and our Government figures out in 4 weeks who the dastardly culprits were? Less than 2 months after 9/11 the 4th Amendment-trampling Patriot Act was passed with little debate.
Doesn’t it appear that our Government was prepared to take action awful soon after the attacks? If they could move that fast with their other involvements in our economy, we wouldn’t have anything to worry about, would we?

      • Karolyn

We were already in Afghanistan, weren’t we, Dave?

      • KKuurus

        DaveH
Flight time USA to Afghanistan is under 24 hours in a heavy lifter plane. Army response teams are on and have been on standby since before Korea, response time 1 to 24 hours depending on what they take with them. Marine response is similar Navy can be much faster or slower depending on what they do. The towers collapse was not caused by explosive demolition unless some how they were closed without public knowledge for several weeks. Please try to get Engineering facts not conspiracy theory only. Each person sees what they hope to.

      • Ralph

Absolutely … how can anyone not believe that the destruction of the Bill of Rights was planned with the approval of the Patriot Act in Congress. Just look at our nation today … cameras spying on our own citizens and HSA compiling lists of suspects to be arrested if any domestic insurrection springs up. If anyone thinks the so-called terrorists did this to us they need to turn off the propaganda machine called TV news and learn how to reason and to investigate actual facts.

      • Ralph R.

Super thermite was used to bring down the twin towers, they would go in
and paint it on the pillars, the painters didn’t know they were doing it
they thought they were just painting, layer after layer after layer, they
even found evidence of it in the debris-(thermite)same stuff used for
sparklers you use to celebrate the 4th of July…but they used (Super-

the planes hit the buildings, check out the experiments on (Trutv)

      • Vulpine

Think about what you said, slayerwulfe: “I will never submit to a religion.” Aren’t you doing that when you promote the far right extremists in the Republican Party? It’s time to get away from the extremes on either side and start compromising so our country can again get back to the business of being the greatest country on Earth.

      • s c

First things first. Ben, you can do a lot better than this. DaveH is right on target. 10 years after the ‘event,’ America has something entrenched in bed with us, and it’s polite name is home security. Someone get that damned thing out of the bed, please.
Vulpine, I don’t know what your problem is, but when you can group conservatives and ‘Republicans’ together, and you top it off with a slice of right-wing wacko crap, I suspect that the biggest factor in that scenario is between your ears.
Compromise has had MUCH to do with screwing-up America. The ‘fine art’ of compromise is for lower-life forms (mainly politicians). If you can find ways to be comfy with people who amount to career criminals, I don’t need you ‘on my side,’ I don’t see a whole lot of difference between an Islamofascist and YOU, bubba.
America needs LEADERSHIP, and selling your ass in the name of compromise will keep all potential leaders from being leaders. We need to identify suck-ups, socialists, alinskyites, career criminals who who call themselves ‘leaders,’ wannabe prostitutes of all manner and let them know that their proper place is in another country. This is America. People like Obummer Obummer’s robots , parasites and Vulpine need not apply. You’ve been replaced – at long last.

      • http://www.personalliberty.com Alice

I started to reply to vulpine, then I saw s c’s reply and did not need to improve upon it. There are, indeed, people called “far right” nuts. I do not consider them right oriented. Being on the right means being in the right. Right means: work for yourself and family, carry your own load, limit government and government spending, limit taxes, get back to a constitutional republic. The people called “far right” are not right at all, just stupid. They are, thankfully, easier to recognize than far leftists. Leftists lie to trick people into agreeing. So called far right nuts are out there for all to see.

      • Jim Benat

The mindless primitives in the Mid-East jihad movement are just part of the problem. The Russians and Chineese are supporting them in every way to weaken us. When we have exausted our resources fighting these cave dwellers they will step in and swat the primitives, take thier oil fields and conquer us.
So what’s the answer? As I see it we must get this, so called, “war on terror” over with by taking off the gloves, forgetting about collateral damage and start leveling some cities and turning the rest of thier little oasis into glass. Then crank up our oil, coal and natural gas production so we don’t need the goat herders petroleum output.
Of course it might help to get liberals and muslims out of our government for starters.

“Compromise” has brought this country to its knees! We have compromised our prosperity, our morality, our security, our rights, and our exceptionalism….all in the name of Diversity, Political Correctness and Multiculturalism (all weapons of the progressives)!

There should never be “Compromise,” when doing the “right thing.”

sylviam…”But 9/11 did not do the damage they wanted it to do, so I guess they failed, and NO MARTARDOM there.”

I disagree and think the 9/11 damage was extensive beyond the 3000+ dead and the toppling of the twin towers…PATRIOT ACT, TSA, un-constitutional government intrusion into potentially every facet of every American’s life, ability to travel around the world in peace and the division of the American people over good Muslim/bad Muslim.

Yeah, I’d say they did tremendous damage and the question of an inside job still remains unanswered.

      • Kate8

sc – I was thinking much the same thing. Glad you posted it.

While Ben’s article has a nice sentiment, we’ve gone far beyond that now. It’s just not that simple anymore. There were much bigger forces behind this dastardly false-flag event than a few homespun terrorists.

      • Kate8

        Should have been “cavespun” terrorists.

      • Karolyn

professor – The problem with the “right thing” is that it is a different thing for different people.

      • Karolyn

Sylviam – Allah was not a man but is God.

      • Kate8

karolyn – Yes, in your progressive world of moral equivalence, I guess the right thing would be relative.

The only thing is, how do you have a cohesive society when everyone is playing by different rules?

That, my dear, is called “chaos”. And that is the whole point.

      • http://gunner689 gunner689

Allah was a murdering pig who begat like minded piglets. that’s why they have such an adversion to pork; they might be eating their brother.

      • Karolyn

gunner – You’re confusing Allah with Mohammed.

      • Karolyn

Kate – I guess that’s where compromise comes in. Depending on their point of view and perspective, as well as where they live in the world, eveybody’s right. It really is all relative. Here’s a quote from someone I admire deeply:

“…that you cannot hope to solve any problem using the same energy that created the problem. Whether it’s the endless wars in the world or the unending quarrels and fighting in your own home, the
problem is the same: conflicting energy. If you want to change the outcome, change the energy. The extraordinary aspect of this solution is that you do not have to wait for the other party in order to do it.”

      • Kate8

karolyn – The Left’s idea of compromise is that the Right caves in to their programs. Leftists do not compromise on what they are after. They just wear the other side down, coming back time after time, until they get it.

Also, compromise is what you do when you soften on your convictions for the sake of getting along. The Right has done that all along, so much that the two factions are indistinguishable.

There are some things that just cannot be compromised without losing integrity. Freedom is one. God’s Laws are another.

Compromise works fine in the world of relativism, where nothing is held to be true or sacred. Where no values are really valued.

How does society function when some hold to honesty and trust, and others work by deception and lies? No one trusts anyone, and it becomes each man for himself. That is where we are in America.

BTW, Allah is not God. Allah is a god, the moon god, of the tribe in which Mohammad was born. And he is God’s nemesis.

      • Vicki

        Karolyn says:
“professor – The problem with the “right thing” is that it is a different thing for different people.”

The problem is that people thinking they are god attempt to convince their followers what the “right thing” is. Allah’s followers kill non-believers.

That should be enough of a warning about weather Allah ~= the God of the Christian. Evil people did for a time kill non-believers in the name of Christ. Look around the USA. You will see that Christians overcame the fools teachings of those evil people.

Allah’s followers do not appear to have grown up yet.

Now about the “right thing” I will give you again a method of resetting your moral compass so YOU can understand what is “the right thing” without depending on any man.

“First Principle. Your Creator gifted you with life and free will.
How you use those 2 gifts and how you honor these gifts in others,
        defines your moral character.”

When wondering about “the right thing” ask yourself if it supports First Principle or goes against First Principle.

Consider other religious teachings such as “do unto others AS you would have them do unto you for guidance in applying First Principle.

      • Nadzieja Batki

        Compromise into what. Be specific.
When someone tells you or asks you to compromise they usually mean for “you” specifically to give up what you believe is right or wrong and follow their beliefs. No Individual is value neutral so compromising is giving up your values. Once you compromise you can never regain those values.

      • CJM

Nadzieja: Yes you can recover the values you compromised–it’s done everyday and Americans are revisiting those compromises of the past few years. Compromise, like anything else, can be undone or revised–depending on what the desired outcome is purported to be. Americans have seen what the compromises have dealt us and we are in the process of UNDOING them. Don’t sell the Americans short–we are a very innovative people and yes we will reclaim our standing as the greatest Nation on earth. Don’t believe it? Watch what we can and will do to our enenmies in the not to distant future.

      • Nadzieja Batki

        This reply is to CJM.
Once you set yourself on the path of compromise you can never reclaim the values you set aside to compromise with someone else’s values. Simply it means if you follow a path mapped out by someone else, you are not following your own path. If as you say that in spite of compromise you can reclaim the values, how will you recognize them?

      • Libertarian

        Good questions, Nadzieja!

I’m a bit confused here… 9/11 was an IN-side Job, ALL the evidence LEFT behind indicates that, EVERY perp still walks among us, even publishing books nowadays, and unlike in Germany where reading “Mein Kampf” is NOT promoted, encouraged or allowed to be promoted, that is NOT the case in the Land of the Free…

The US will never return to its status as the greatest country on earth as long as the triple L’s exist. (Liberal, left-wing, loons)

      • CJM

Unfortunately, Kentucky C, we can reduce the effects (and even eliminate some of those effects) of the liberals and left-wingers, but will be stuck with the loons—they exist in everyone’s country, not just in the US. However, we can keep them out of politics by examining our reason for voting for these candidates. People need to stop being enamoured with the rhetoric and treating these blokes as if they were some sort of god (as in odummberbummbers’ case) and take careful scrutiny of what they really stand for. When I followed obama’s campaign, I turned on him when I heard him say he wanted to dismantle the US Constitution and the fact that he admitted to voters that he was NOT born in the US, but was born in Kenya. He then told them where he was born did not matter. In short, study the person who is vying for a high position in government—it really isn’t that hard to do.

      • Janice M Cullen RE Broker

All this talk about whether 9/11 was a success is pure bull crapology.
It was a step towards the overthrow of our country as we know it, whether it was as we were told, or an inside job – doesn’t matter. What matters is we now have a Kenyan born Negro in the white house who was raised as a Muslim, plainly SAYS he will stand with the Muslims, has put Muslims into our Government at all levels. And his minions (such as Negro Eric Holder) have thrown wrenches into our Justice System when it comes to handling Muslim issues (Philadelphia, New Black Panther Party on election day is just one example). In every case where there have been Muslims involved in terrorist activities, investigators have been told to “Back Off” … like the Muslim Doctor who killed 13 people in Texas.

Those of you who voted for Barry (aka Barack Hussein Obama) … you voted for the overthrow of America … realize it or not. Your stupidity is not an excuse. Obama’s private militia is training. Are you? Have you not seen the recent videos showing the Black Panthers training to “Kill Whitey”? Have you not heard speeches by Louis Farrakhan telling his “Private Force” to prepare for taking over America!? You can keep your head in the sand … but that won’t stop it frome being chopped off with a dull blade … the Muslims favorite method of entertainment.

        Personal recovery plan for you:
        1. Choose to stop accepting without question everything our domestic enemies want you to hear and believe.
        2. Educate yourself as to who these domestic enemies are: anyone who breaks constitutional law or advocates breaking constitutional law, has broken constitutional law, and/or who refuses to demand an accounting of those who have done so.
        3. Educate yourself about the constitution, that is, what it demands our leaders to accomplish as a matter of law and sworn oath.
        4. Launch ceaseless broadsides against our domestic enemies with phone calls, petitions, emails, letters, letters to the editor of your local left-wing fishwrap.
        5. Our system is designed to operate properly when the people not only learn what their personal responsibilities are as a matter of duty and law, but they act to demand what the law requires. GET INVOLVED and stay informed.

I hate organized religion as well BUT…only an idiot would deny the existence of a higher intelligent being. Evolution has been debunked. So we look at the options and only Jesus offers what we all need and feel in our hearts is normal and natural. Unalienable rights given by God to life, liberty, and property grounded in the rule of law NOT man. Those laws have been writen for us by that God in the 10 commandments. The legislature is merely moving our laws around within the confines of the original 10 as the world circumstances change. At least that is how it should be working. Our current IDIOTS in washington have perverted the law and that is the mess we are in. Living in submission to a loving, just, true, omnicient, omnipresent, God is perfect in my book. We just need to send the current crop of evil, arrogant, unjust, socialist, bastards packing and demand leaders that submit to the constitution and the original laws that underpin those ideals.

Thank you Ifod, thank you. The major problem with this country and the reason it is on it’s way to hell is because we’ve turned our backs on WHY this was such a great country to begin with. EVERYTHING and I don’t care who you are and what you believe, Everything was based on belief in the teachings of the bible. Our fore fathers lived their lives in a biblical manner. This country has turned their heads away from God, basically killing him and now it’s all about Me, what I can gain, greed, hate, perversion and we accept all this as normal now. Religion..that isn’t what I’m talking about either, it’s faith in Jesus Christ and trusting in the creator of this earth not the created ‘thing’ or even man. Remember when Mr. B.O. was elected? Those people worshiped him and look what they got! Why are our leaders allowing Islam to even be here? Iraq is burning all the bibles and killing the Christians, why do we tolerate that, instead, we open doors for these people and allow them to take over with their Shiriah law. Even Christians here are being persecuted now for their faith, here in the U.S.A. What the heck!!! You wonder why? This is why. God help us all!

It’s hard to discuss issues that deal with different cultures and although Ben Crystal wrote an interesting perspective on radical Islam, I found that many people do not understand the elements of ISLAM because it is not just a religion, its social and political and cultural issues. For example SHARIA law is part of ISLAM, politics is part of ISLAM, cultural issues like dress codes for women is part of ISLAM. Bottom line is ISLAM is not just a religion and thats where the confusion comes in because there are those who radicalize the religion to mean what they want it to mean. For example some of these Jihadist believe that they are warriors of ALLAH that must destroy the infidel to protect the religion. It kind of mirrors St. Michael the Arch Angel who is the protector of the christians but St Michael destroys the forces of Satan and his cohorts, not innocent civilians. The Jihadists take a different route, they destroy innocent men, women and children any way they can with any means at their disposal including any type weapons and dynamite belts. The difference in ideology is mind numbing and because it is part of this tribal mindset of the Muslims radicals and because the women are very much subjugated and the indoctrination in madrassa schools is so ideology intensive, it will be a long time before this murderous ideology is abandoned as a weapon to protect the clan. If there were some way we could convince them that there are no 72 virgins waiting for them in heaven or Nancy Pelosi and Rosie O’donnell were two of the ladies in waiting we could get some rapid movement on at least the latter. I spent 29 years in the military trying to support the Constitution and the laws of the land and it has always been my hope and prayer that I and my countrymen always remained safe and comitted to God, country and family. Everyone has to do their share to keep our country great and Crystal is contributing, but I do not believe the socialist democrats are our friends and will keep us free and safe, but my senses tell me you’ll will fix that problem on 2 Nov 2012.

DaveH’s single paragraph is far more on target than Ben Crystal’s verbose, self-congratulatory blather.

    • Rusticus

      Well put, Dave

Mr. Crystal, I enjoyed your article very much. As a firm believer in Spirituality and karma, Good will trounce Evil because the Laws of the universe are made to which that is so (my belief). As a traveller to Indonesia, the most populous muslim country in the world, I can attest the common muslim practioner detests these fanatical coo-coos as any patriotic American. God bless America, God bless us all. Peace.

I like the article! I like the way Ben, pokes a stick-in-the-eye, of the muslims. They have been “beating their chests” far too long about the success of 911! There is no honor in the killing of civilians, but neither is there honor in hiding behind women and school children, when these cowards get caught in a fight with our military! What they did accomplish was to unleash the American military upon their part of the world. They should be glad that we are not seriously angry (as it seems.) America, with all her might, could level any city in the Middle East..not just a couple of buildings!

What we did get out of 911 is that America finally awakened to the fact that we have a real enemy in the religion (cult) of islam. Yet, we let them live among us and even consider letting them build a mosque at ground zero! Some that call themselves, Americans, are worse enemies than these barbarians!

      • Kate8

professor – Islam is dangerous, to be sure. But not nearly as dangerous as those pulling the strings and manipulating the world’s power structure.

Islam is a tool. The power structure funds ALL OF THE ARMIES ON ALL SIDES, with a definite goal in mind, and they, the NWO PTB, are the only winners.

      • maggie

        Well said Kate8

Right on the bloody mark, Kate!!!

What befuddles me is that in contrast to Pearl Harbor, America did absolutely nothing in the way of retalliation in the aftermath of 9/11. We showed weakness in that situation as we do whenever we fund the UN despite their voting against us at every turn. Muslims are our self-declared enemies, yet we consistently send money to the Middle East to fund their mosques and militias. I could compile a list of weaknesses we show to the rest of the world that would be exponentially long. And the muslims are capitalizing on it every inch of the way, invading our country like a cancer and it seems that nobody is any the wiser.

So you believe that if you are born into a certin ethnic group you can never be a free thinker. Maybe you should rethink that as we all have the power of free will and choice, as given by God in the bible when he created man! Are you sure he did not know what he was doing, or maybe you think you are a higher authority?????????????

      • Lawrence Ekdahl

The enemy is ISLAM, not radical Islam, ISLAM itself. This religion actively promotes violence and murder of anyone who does not conform to their religion.

A combat veterans response to the ban on prayer at 9/11 event

        The liberty of Prayer

Have you ever smelled the cordite
        Hanging thick in the air,
Or seen a rockets fiery light
        Streaking through the air
Have you ever felt the trembling ground
From bombs falling in the night,
Or felt the fear that grips you
You when think you are about to die,
Have you ever wiped a friend’s blood
        From your sweating brow,
Have you ever seen tracers streaking through the night?
Seeking living flesh to deprive it of life,
Have you ever heard a dying man
Crying for his mother or wife,
Have you ever lived the nightmare of taking another’s life?
And knowing that if possible they would not hesitate to strike,
Have you even ever stood on freedoms wall to guard,
        On dark and dreary night,
Have you ever seen an empty chair and know that person
Now Occupies a casket in them there is no life,

Or had child arms wrapped tight around your leg
Say “please daddy don’t go, stay home tonight instead,”
Have you ever looked into to the eye of your spouse prematurely old from worry late at night?
Their once golden hair now white,
Have you ever felt their trembling hand Fearful as they comfort you at night,
Because their rest was disturbed because you in your dreams were in a fire fight,

For generation now men have fought and died to have the right given to them by God
To pray when they desired and to thank there God
For each and every day he gives of liberty and life
Only it seems to be taken by government regulation
On a fateful day when three thousand died living liberty

To Those solders that died they spit upon those graves
They tell them they died in vain for those liberties,
You cannot pray at ground zero for some we may offend
Your sacrifice does not matter, we do not care in the end,
They did not smell the cordite, or hear the wounded scream,
Liberty of prayer sacrifice, for our socialistic end

God has given us the Republic. God has saved us from harm so many times. Do we deserve it ? No way.But He is true to His word. The people (us) WILL AGAIN turn from our wicked ways and do His will. Not our own.

It is very sad that Americans believe this 9/11 was done by the Muslims. When it all seems to be the Mossad working with our own CIA that pulled this off. With the CIA doing their dirty work by using mind control, they certainly succeeded.

The Zionist country of Israel always starts dirty deeds and puts the blame on someone else. Then when the war starts they lay low and act like little angels. The Americans are blaming the wrong people.

Of course when you have deceivers like Hagee, who believes we haven’t done enough for “poor” Israel and that is why the world is having these problems.Hagee is a true Zionist.

Reading all these comments of the Dems blaming the Repubs and Left-wingers slamming the right_wingers,when in fact we should be blaming the Zionists. They control the banks, congress, run all the Gov’t depts.,own or control the manipulated news media, control the UN and if you say anything about the Zionists, you’re called anti-semantic.

Further, when I see people blaming the foreign born Pres.that is currently residing in office for our economic woes,I agree he hasn’t done much,if anything, however, the blame should go to Bush and Clinton and beyond that. One Pres.cannot turn this mess around in one term anyway.

Its easy to point fingers, but one should investigate before writing silly things. If the American people would only vote for candidates that follow the Constitution,we would be so much better off.If they get elected and do not follow it,then they should be ousted and suffer severe consequences. Our Congress, probably 95% should be ousted.
I do not see a true patriot except a handful.Spending taxpayers money over their budget is an example of their violations.

        ’nuff said

      • mimi

The comments of the professor are bold and courageous. As a society we are in bondage evidenced by the average person being afraid to say it like it is, hiding behind political correctness and cultural relativity. They accept what they read and hear as truth and do not test it against a sound moral judgement. Over two thousand people were MURDERED on 911 by men who professed hatred against another people. These murderers where muslim extremest who are protected by muslim who keep silent about this massacre. This silence is telling! In this 911 memorial programing no one is mentioning the murdering of over 2000 people. Everyone is skirting the issue.

Men and women who live in America, who call themselves Americans should transform their timidity and act responsibly by making sure that their vote is to save America by supporting only those who love being an American, are proud of being an American and support what our fore founders professed in preserving our principles. We have men and women in office who what to change who and what Americans are about. People came to American from other countries because of American freedoms, those who feel what they left is better and want to recreate American to be clones of other countries should return to those countries they feel is superior to what American was formed to be and evidenced in our Constitution. I am ashamed that our children are being formed today in an educational process that is void of pride and blind to our heritage. True Americans should commit themselves today to support only candidates that love American and want to preserve freedom at every level.

The first written comment on this page was depressing. Instead of taking to task the ugly terrorists from Islam, the writer decided to use his little bit of posting space to damn the American government. I don’t need to point out to you that this is illogical, but, unfortunately, it is par for the course. During World War II, the American people appeared to function as one, I do not recall any smattering of American haters using the war as a platform for their domestic hate messages. I’m not saying it didn’t happen, I’m only saying that I don’t remember it happening. During this last ten year period, the terrorists from Islam have picked at us, but they have not been successful in determining our fate. We Americans are tough as nails and we can take a beating from time to time without feeling that some enemy force is destroying our civilization. We will never give up. We will never give in. We’ve cleared our minds of pity and prepared to meet our for, the next blow is the only one that we will need to know. We’ve put toether some gumption, audacity, backbone and pluck, we’ve gathered up spunk and courage for the task we have to buck. We’ve showed them what we’re made of and gave them all we’ve got. There was no reason to be timid, we took pleasure in what we sought. We’ve dug down deep within our souls and kindled the flame that glows, we’ve burnt out all the doubts therein and chased away our woes. it’s only a war they say, but to us it’s more than that. We’ve prepared ourselves for battle and we’ll take them to the mat. We’ve built anew our self-esteem and wiped away the fears, we know that we are more than skills we’ve mastered through the years. It’s only a war they say, but we know it’s more than that. We’re giving it everthing we’ve got, we’re not choosing to stand pat. What kind of nonsense is THAT? After 10 years of 911 discoveries, although it took me ONLY one week to know it was an ‘inside’ job carried by Mossad and local traitors, the author still hangs to ‘Muslims did it’ cloud 9? 911 Mysteries, 911 Missing Links, and 911 Zero, is all we need to know Mossad rigged while the Bushes looked the other way. Sick.

We have the muslim brotherhood in the obummers administration helping him to destroy our freedom,of course they have help from “Haarp,”in
our military committing suicide, this is sad for all “Americans”.
Vote American this time around, either Ron Paul or Bachmann,I saw hints of some Americans wanting Ron Paul and Jesse Ventura to run tog-
-ether,they would be a dynamic duo for Americans,no question where
their hearts are and ligit social security cards and not ashamed to
show their “Birthcertificates.” “Americans for America.”
