Livin' For The Apocalypse

Our own preparedness expert Peggy Layton and her family are featured on a new one-hour TLC special, “Livin’ for the Apocalypse,” that premieres Sunday night at 10 p.m. EDT. The show covers four families and the things they are doing to prepare for hard times and protect themselves against the collapse of the economy or civilization. I encourage you to watch it. It’s sure to provide you with some ideas you can incorporate into your own preparedness strategy.

    I finally purchased mine also, glad that I did too.

    The item that I came up short on was a ChainSaw.

    The heavily wooded area I live in experianced 40-70mph winds causeing allot of weak trees to drop branches of upto 10 inches in diameter and upto 20 feet long. Mostly to big to safely drive over, they had to be dragged and or cut up. Yes, I had a chainsaw but it was in need of repair, didnt think about it at the time until I needed it.

    Even if you thought of, and have, make sure its reliable and ready.

    i considered myself a prepper, I have food, silver, guns and ammo. The thing I never considered was a generator. Irene knocked out my power for two days, not a big deal considering that some people still aren’t back on line but it made me realize that I need a generator! Funny, I never even thought of it until I needed it.
