Rick Perry’s Words Get Him In Trouble

August 22, 2011 by

Rick Perry’s Words Get Him In Trouble

On Monday, Texas Governor and recently declared Republican Presidential candidate Rick Perry drew fire for essentially accusing Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke of treason, a capital offense: “Printing more money to play politics at this particular time in American history is almost treacherous, or treasonous, in my opinion,” Perry said. “If this guy prints more money between now and the election, I don’t know what y’all would do to him in Iowa, but we would treat him pretty ugly down in Texas.”

Another Texan Presidential candidate long known for attacking the Fed, Republican Representative Ron Paul, said Perry’s comments make him “look moderate,” according to NBC.

“Congressman Ron Paul wasted no time here joking that ‘some Southern governor,’ (referring to his governor, Rick Perry, but not naming him), makes him look moderate,” the article read. “‘I have never once said Bernanke committed treason,’ the Texas congressman said, chuckling. That was greeted with thunderous applause from the 600 supporters awaiting him at a campaign office opening.”

Some Congressional Republicans, who have their own elections to worry about, are concerned that Perry’s comments could drive away Independent voters.

“You can’t be calling Bernanke a traitor and you can’t be questioning whether or not Barack Obama loves America, that type of thing,” said Representative Peter King (R-N.Y.), according to POLITICO. “I’ve been with Perry a few times, and I can see how he could project, again, if it’s done the right way. But no, if he continues this, he’ll have a tough time.”

Perry, as are most of those entered into the GOP race, is a two headed viper. You know the type…they speak with forked tongue. I’ve read all the stuff about Bilderbuggers. I’ve also read all the crap regarding 9/11 conspiracies. If there are no FACTS, PROVEN FACTs, then it’s all theory and NOT FACT. That said, here are some facts about Perry from a native Texan, a couple of facts about Dubya thrown in.

    1. I wrote to Perry as our Governor 4 times regarding the porous Mexican border and putting Texas Guard and/or Texas Rangers on the border to stop the influx of illegals. Each time came a canned reponse – “that’s the business of the Fed…” And that is true, BUT, if the Fed isn’t doing its job, then it becomes the business of the individual State to protect its citizens.
    2. Perry continues moving forward, if covertly, on the super highway regardless of how Texans vote. By the way, the company that will build this freeway which absolutely won’t be FREE, is headquartered in Spain. How is this perpetuated? Politicians just change the name of the thing!
    3. Perry signed a bill to mandate all parents with adolescent daughters be given the Gardasil vaccine. How’s that for usurping parental authority? Of course, this is Texas and we stopped it – but the idiot tried this!
    4. Finally, at the first Tea Party rally in Austin (think it was late spring 2008), Perry was roundly BOO’D by this group of terrorists. By the way, I am a member of Texas TEA party and I am an Independent voter, so I must be a terrorist.

    Now for Dubya:

    1. In 2001, Bush and his administration warned Congress that there was an economic crisis coming vis a vis Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac. Greenspan concurred and wanted more oversight. Chuck Schumer and Barney Frank told the public these entities were solvent and no oversight bill could get through the Senate. DEMOCRATS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR CURRENT ECONOMIC CRISIS.

    2. Bush took us to war in 2 countries after we were attacked on 9/11 – lest any of you forget that horror. Obama increased military action while stating we would make troop withdrawals and now we have billions being spent in Libya, Pakistan, and other Middle East nations while the Muslim Brotherhood increases its hold on these economies. Congress voted and funded action in Iraq and Afghanistan. Congress passed nothing to fund Obama’s wars, and they are talking about reducing the DOD budget. How is that going to help US?

Just a few things off the top of my head. In sum, we have 435 tax paid politicians of which 95% or unethical and they get life time salaries and benefits while they steal us blind when in office. We have Wiley Coyote in the oval office when we need the Road Runner sitting in the White House. Frankly, I’ll even vote for Daffy Duck and others to rid us of these parasites, but make no mistake, Perry is one of them. And we need to cut the salaries and benefits of Washington politicians to aide in balancing the budget!

    • Lost in Paradise

What you are basically saying, is that our entire government is not interested in the health and wellfare of the people. Treasonous would be the correct term. Paul though not perfect would probably be ok, except he is only one, and he cannot fight everyone single handed. We need a new government, forcefully put in place by the people. The current regime needs to be tried for crimes against America and correctly punnished.

    • Bildeberg Perry

Such a bunch of idiots on this thread. Rick Perry is a DEMOCRAT. He worked for Al Gore’s campaign. The only reason he changed his affiliation was so he could win the governorship in Texas. He remains a globalist, a corporate lackey and his idea of a free market is to give free money to his friends in return for payoffs.

As for the other idiots who have these false notions (lies) about Ron Paul, you either can’t read or don’t have the capacity to comprehend the fundamental premise of liberty. In that case, you are more in alliance with the DEMOCRATS than with a REAL Republican, which Ron Paul certainly is. He is a libertarian Republican (believes in liberty), NOT a Libertarian (as in, “the party”). Such stupidity. NO wonder Republicans have lost their way. They are just Democrat lite and equally committed to big government. There’s the problem…Idiots!

      • newspooner

If you think that Republicans have lost their way in general throughout the country, you ought to see what the anemic Republican Party did to support the good Republican candidates in Taxachusetts in 2010 — ALMOST NOTHING! The state party only helped the elitist rich boy Governor candidate who was opposed to reducing the state sales tax, which we had on the Ballot as an Initiative Referendum. Meanwhile, candidate after candidate who ran on their own for State Representative as Republicans were ignored by their own party. Miraculously, some of them did win, and we now have several terrific state legislators. Now the state Republican Party is trying to take credit for their victories, whereas that credit really belongs to the Tea Party and Libertarian activists.

      • DaveH

You live in Massachusetts? My sympathies to you. It must be rough to be surrounded by Liberals.

  • AJ

Rick Perry is nothing more than a global elite puppet as is our current president. He is being groomed to take the place of Obama and
carry out the same politics as usual and their global agenda. He is NWO.

  • 2WarAbnVet

Is debasing the currency an act of treason? If so, Perry may be onto something.

    • DaveH

It may not be an act of Treason, but it is certainly an act of theft.
Every extra dollar that is created by the Federal Reserve, whether by paper or electronics, decreases the value of our existing savings. By creating the dramatic new flood of dollars, the Federal Reserve is robbing Mom and Pop of the value of their life-long cash savings.

  • Melody

I would have never dreamed that people are going to be afraid of someone standing up and saying exactly what everyone is thinking…. and I mean everyone. Tell the truth…. face it…. deal with it. Love Perry, and a few others who are confident of their beliefs and their sound morals and love of country. Ron Paul is a nut…. and a nut no one wants.

    • newspooner

You really need to meet Ron Paul in person. All politics aside, it is hard to find a saner and more wonderful human being.

  • TheRealBob

Paul is just trying to make points at Perry’s expense and he is a hypocrite because he knows that what Perry is saying is true.

  • Raggs

So Rick gets in trouble for speaking the truth and the leftist communist oblama sits on his duff lying all day long and nothing is ever said!

Sounds to me like something is seriously F-up here.

    I agree with Rick Perry!

  • Billy

Perry is right, Bernanke is a traitor, So is Obama. Where he get in trouble is in meeting with the Globalist to plan our futures. When he looks in the mirror he should see himself standing beside Obama in trying to bring about our demise.

He is not someone who I would vote for as dog catcher, much less as president.

  • Greg T

What is worse, high level politicians falsely calling politically active citizen terrorist, or one politician calling another member of the government possibly treasonous?

Tea Party = media/politicians can say anything derogatory

    Establishment = media/politicians protected class

Hold on tight to your dreams guys. Obama or Perry? Makes no dif’s. They are on the same agenda and will obey or else! Get a texas ranger involved and vote for him – Paul?????

  • Alex

My only concern with Perry and the other candidates is whether or not Ron Paul is beating them, because he’s the only one that matters to me. He is ethical, godly, economically wise, fights for individual freedom, a constitutional government, and has a long history of demonstrating the courage of his convictions.

If it ain’t Ron Paul, it ain’t qualified.

    • crystal

Are you talking about the same Ron Paul who teamed up with a Democrat to write and introduce legislation for the legalization of marijuana?

Are you talking about the same Ron Paul that in the debates was so unsure of himself every sentence he made started out with “We could” or “We could try?”

Are you talking about the same Ron Paul that didn’t have a clue that Polygamist (slavery for women) was being fought for in various states?

Are you talking about the same Ron Paul who believes that just letting people do what they want, won’t have a negative effect on others?

Are you talking about the same Ron Paul who believes so deeply in States Rights, that he ignores the states like California, who have proven they can’t be trusted with States’ Rights?

Ae you talking about the same Ron Paul…

      • TheRealBob

Sounds like Paul is a libertarian rather than a conservative. If so, he is just as much a degenerate as any democrat.

      • TML

        He’s a constitutional conservative.

      • TML

“Are you talking about the same Ron Paul who teamed up with a Democrat to write and introduce legislation for the legalization of marijuana?”

This is a bad thing? Ending the failed war on drugs is a good thing. Prohibition didn’t work with alcohol, and it hasn’t worked with drugs. Freedom doesn’t consist of dictating what people choose to put into their own sovereign bodies.

“Are you talking about the same Ron Paul that in the debates was so unsure of himself every sentence he made started out with “We could” or “We could try?”

Saying “we could” doesn’t imply that one is unsure of himself/herself.

“Are you talking about the same Ron Paul that didn’t have a clue that Polygamist (slavery for women) was being fought for in various states?”

This makes him not a good candidate?

“Are you talking about the same Ron Paul who believes that just letting people do what they want, won’t have a negative effect on others?”

It’s called freedom you depot. If it neither picks your pocket nor breaks your leg, then yes, people should be able to do what they want. The policy of the American government should be to leave it’s citizens free… neither restraining them nor aiding them in their pursuits.

“Are you talking about the same Ron Paul who believes so deeply in States Rights, that he ignores the states like California, who have proven they can’t be trusted with States’ Rights?”

It is sometimes said that a man can not be trusted with government of himself. Can then be trusted with the government of others? You are a blind authoritarian to think that we should abandon the 10th Amendment and States rights, by the (false) allegation that one can not be trusted with states rights.

      • DaveH

        Thank you, TML. Good comment.

        I would like to add:
Crystal, what makes you come to the conclusion that Polygamy is slavery for women? Is somebody forcing these women into their polygamous arrangement or did they freely choose it? The only Force I see is your apparent attitude that you, and others like you, should be able to force you way on women who might otherwise choose to freely engage in a polygamous relationship.

      • Thinking About

Let me put it simply, would you like to be a brother husband? If You were indoctrinated with this as being a normal way of life would you be in a good situation to live your life forever in this manner. Also add lots of children which you have to be dependent on social services to provide for them. Would you like to be expected to deal with rape at a young age because some pervert decides it is time for this to happen. If you don’t think this is not a form of slavery then you might be the perverts taking advantage of children stuck in this life style. Rethink your downplay of the life some are subject to live in.

You are full of it.I agree with Daveh. I do believe in the legalization of marijuana

      • Papa

That’s the same Ron Paul, a man of PRINCIPLES who refuses to condemn YOUR RIGHT to live your own way and believe whatever you please as long as you harm no-one else in the process.

It’s what’s known as LIBERTY and FREEDOM in case your public-school education failed to properly define the principles of our Founding Fathers…

“Are you kidding! ron paul is almost senile. He has too many anarchists tendencies. much better choice is either Bachmann or Palin or BOTH”

You must be senile if you think Bachmann is a good choice. She voted to extend the Patriot Act, the worst bill to trample the consitution in American history.

      • DaveH

        Bud,
Ron Paul is more logical at age 76, then most much-younger people are.
It used to be that people respected their elders for their wisdom. Now, it seems as if most young people want to throw them under the bus.

Pick a topic, any topic Bud, in Ron Paul’s agenda, and I will gladly show you that you don’t know what you’re talking about.

      • DaveH

Here is Michele Bachmann’s issues page:
        http://www.michelebachmann.com/issues/

From her health care statement — “I recently voted for the Ryan Plan to make sure that Medicare is secure for future generations – those now under 55 who are affected by the blueprint”.
I thought she was for Less Government?

From her military statement — “As Commander-in-Chief, I will do whatever it takes to fulfill the federal government’s foremost responsibility under the Constitution: to keep you safe in an increasingly dangerous world. I will uphold America’s values by standing shoulder-to shoulder with those who share those values and our interests and standing tall against those who don’t”.
        Translation — continuing foreign involvement?

She seems to be doing a lot of double-speaking on her issues statements. There was a lot of wiggle-room in her statements. Of course, she was a lawyer, so I guess I should excuse her for that.

Who would know better about treason than secessionist R.P. (Rest in Peace)?

    • DaveH

Before Lincoln stepped all over the Constitution and the Sovereign Rights of Free States, Secession was considered to be a viable solution to an out-of-control Federal Government.
Why should a Free People have to be in a Union they don’t approve of?
I suppose you would outlaw Divorce also?

      • Papa

        Right on!!!

The theory that the Supreme Court has authority to interpret the constitution is fatally flawed. “The constitution, on this hypothesis, is a mere thing of wax in the hands of the Judiciary, which they may twist and shape into any form they please.” – Thomas Jefferson

That’s exactly what both the Court and Professional Politicians have been doing for 200 years and it’s time “We The People” called them on it!!!

  • TheRealBob

Any deliberate act by a citizen that threatens the security of the USA is treason. By that definition, all democrats are traitors. Perry didn’t go far enough.

  • Free Mind

Peter King is a traitor too. Rick Perry calls it like it is and politicians and us have the right to call a spade a spade. Politically correct speech which Peter King thinks is the correct way is nothing more than prohibiting free speech. It is a typical liberal ploy.RINO King

So for the record, Bernanke is a traitor and for that matter, so is Obama. We would probably be rough on them here in colorado too, except we have too many leftist thinking California Transplants here.

Funny, I always thought he was to well dressed. Mike (post below) may have a good point.

  • Carlucci

I live in Texas. Don’t be fooled. Rick Perry talks a good game, but he is a career politician Bilderberg member. He has earned the nickname “The Totalitarian from Texas”. If you vote for him, you are voting to keep the same old status quo, while America continues to go down the tubes.

If anyone on this board wants to know what is really going on, read the Lew Rockwell enewsletter – http://www.lewrockwell.com/.

I just read an interview with Jesse Ventura that was in the enewsletter last week. He has a brilliant, yet very simple solution: Stop voting for Democrats and Republicans (RINOS) – especially the career incumbents. There are a few exceptions, like the Doctors Paul, but overall, we need to clean house, starting at the top. Rick Perry is not the answer.

  • Lost in Paradise

I would have to say that I agree with Greyhawk. Perry does have the right to call anyone anything he feels is appropiate. He is simply giving his opinion, and one that he feels would get wide approval.
I for one, am totally tired of this politically correct bulltweat. Oh You said some thing that hurt my feelings, how dreadful. BIGDEAL!!!! Do not burry your head in your mommies lap and cry. Stand up like an adult and deal with it.

Further more, the American people, need to be doing the same thing that is happening by the rebels in Lybia.

  • Alej

Perry is misunderstood by people who don’t understand the definition of “hyperinflation.”

    Or “10th Amendment.”

Or “illegal alien Marxist hate-white-America Kenyan in the White House.”

    • David Warheit

Hey, Alej, you got one out of five correct (“in the White House”). That’s a pretty good percentage for you.

But who cares about them… just stand with courage and tell the TRUTH.
      Restore America.

HOWEVER, Rick Perry… (it is said that he) is a Bilderberg and I believe he ‘was allowed’ to say that to get the ‘Conservative Vote’ away from Constitutional Conservative Ron Paul.

The Socialist Democrat Party KNOW obama has FAILED and won’t win 2012, unless they create a CRISIS, so the Globalists are setting up a Republican candidate ‘they can accept and control’ to run our country.

I posted a piece already about Perry’s Bilderberg Connections :

“NAFTA Superhighway projects to help with the Bilderberg-supported North American Union (NAU) proposal to merge the US, Canada and Mexico; turning Texas into a sanctuary state for illegal immigrants; and aggressively promoted the ‘Rockefeller Foundation-backed HPV vaccination campaign in Texas that led to deaths worldwide; PERRY ATTENDED THE JUNE 2007 BILDERBERG CONFERENCE in Istanbul, Turkey, and in doing so violated the ‘Logan Act’, a US Federal Law that forbids unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments.”

“While Perry spews Tea Party rhetoric about secession, shooting coyotes and courting the favor of Christian Evangelicals, behind closed doors Perry has been quietly selling out Texas to globalist interests. Look beyond the rhetoric and study what Perry had actually done in his role as Governor – he’s the ultimate globalist.”

Quoted from Infowars June 20, 2011
(I formerly posted the whole piece on Aug 16 under the ‘Michele Bachmann Straw Poll Ames, Iowa’ article on this Personal Liberty site.)

      • Cheryl

Christin, you are 100% correct! I’ve no doubt Rick Perry is involved with Bilderberg, and is only speaking what voters want to hear. Too bad MSM won’t be airing any REAL info about Rick Perry (i.e.-his FORCING of the Gardisil immunization on young girls, etc.)
He is nothing more than another George W. Bush.

Ron Paul has been calling out the Fed on what it is for DECADES, yet Rick Perry gets ‘noticed’ for it? Wake up people!

you can call ben bernanke treasonous if he is indeed treasonous. it’s the same as calling someone a murderer. of course he won’t like nor will the establishment, but it is what it is. when you’re destroying a country with QE’s that destroy one’s monetary unit then you are an enemy of the country. didn’t he admit they, the federal reserve, which is neither federal nor any reserve, cause the depression? should the american people simply ignore this?
    http://www.federalreserve.gov/BOARDDOCS/SPEECHES/2002/20021108/default.htm
In the Conclusion, Bernanke says: “Let me end my talk by abusing slightly my status as an official representative of the Federal Reserve. I would like to say to Milton and Anna: Regarding the Great Depression. You’re right, we did it. We’re very sorry. But thanks to you, we won’t do it again.”

    • Vagabond

Greyhawk I agree with you 150%. Perry gets my vote. hell thats what we need. someone who is not afraid to call a spade a spade,

      • Iva Raggon

Despite his many positive attributes, Perry would make a terrible President. His anti- science beliefs are wrong for the 21st Century. I realize that many here reject the reality of climate change because of a loathing for Al Gore, but the overwhelming majority of REPUTABLE scientists agree that it is happening. All any rational person has to do is look at satellite photos of the polar regions and receding glaciers and the truth is obvious to anyone who cares to see.

His fundamentalist beliefs about creation will make him unacceptable to many voters who understand that to compete in the global economy we need sound education based on state of the art learning and scientific evidence.

Yes, Perry is charismatic, a fighter, and telegenic, but his thinking is a bit too reactionary.

      • Jay

Whether most scientists outside climatology believe that global warming is happening is less relevant than whether the climatologists do. A letter signed by over 50 leading members of the American Meteorological Society warned about the policies promoted by environmental pressure groups. “The policy initiatives derive from highly uncertain scientific theories. They are based on the unsupported assumption that catastrophic global warming follows from the burning of fossil fuel and requires immediate action. We do not agree.” Those who have signed the letter represent the overwhelming majority of climate change scientists in the United States, of whom there are about 60. McMichael and Haines quote the 1995 report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which is widely believed to “prove” that climate change induced by humans has occurred. The original draft document did not say this. What happened was that the policymakers’ summary (which became the “take home message” for politicians) altered the conclusions of the scientists. This led Dr Frederick Seitz, former head of the United States National Academy of Sciences, to write, “In more than sixty years as a member of the American scientific community … I have never witnessed a more disturbing corruption of the peer-review process than the events that led to this IPCC report.”

Policymaking should be guided by proved fact, not speculation. Most members of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change believe that current climate models do not accurately portray the atmosphere-ocean system. Measurements made by means of satellites show no global warming but a cooling of 0.13°C between 1979 and 1994.5 Furthermore, since the theory of global warming assumes maximum warming at the poles, why have average temperatures in the Arctic dropped by 0.88°C over the past 50 years?

        http://www.bmj.com/content/316/7138/1164.1.full

      • Emoke

I have no argument with the statement that the climate is changing. When hasn’t it? What gets me is the further statements that people are causing that change and that we need to set up a system to have everyone pay us (the self chosen) so we can pretend to mitigate that change.

      • Papa

Perry is not anti-science, he’s anti-PSEUDO-science, and that’s an entirely different thing. What he doesn’t believe in is MAN-MADE Global Warming, and you’ll have a hard time proving the existence of such a phenomenon if you care to quote “reputable” earth-scientists.

Of course, if “POLITICAL” scientists aren’t recognized in your world as professional liars, you and Al Gore are in synch so go right on believing whatever you want…

At least he has the balls to say what he thinks and this is refreshing. It is time that the Republicans stop taking the word assaults from the Demorats. It is time to stand your ground as Lt. Col. West did with Debbie Wasserman Schultz when he told her that if she had something to say about him say it to his face or shut the heck up. Finally, someone stood their grounds and you know what, haven’t heard from this foul mouthed woman since then. We don’t have to take the Demorats word assaults anymore.

        wandamurline,
First off, let’s look at what Ms. Wasserman Shultz had to say.
“The gentleman from Florida. who represents thousands of Medicare beneficiaries, as do I, is supportive of this plan that would increase costs for Medicare beneficiaries, unbelievable from a Member from South Florida,”
Not exactly “vile” or “despicable”. You can disagree with whether or not the bill would have this affect, but other than that it’s not much of an “attack”. Now, how did the honorable Col. West respond? He sent out an open e-mail to members of House Republican and Democratic leadership! You know, “right to her face”.

        “From: Z112 West, Allen
        Sent: Tuesday, July 19, 2011 04:48 PM
        To: Wasserman Schultz, Debbie
Cc: McCarthy, Kevin; Blyth, Jonathan; Pelosi, Nancy; Cantor, Eric
Subject: Unprofessional and Inappropriate Sophomoric Behavior from Wasserman-Schultz

Look, Debbie, I understand that after I departed the House floor you directed your floor speech comments directly towards me. Let me make myself perfectly clear, you want a personal fight, I am happy to oblige. You are the most vile, unprofessional ,and despicable member of the US House of Representatives. If you have something to say to me, stop being a coward and say it to my face, otherwise, shut the heck up. Focus on your own congressional district!

I am bringing your actions today to our Majority Leader and Majority Whip and from this time forward, understand that I shall defend myself forthright against your heinous characterless behavior……which dates back to the disgusting protest you ordered at my campaign hqs, October 2010 in Deerfield Beach.

You have proven repeatedly that you are not a Lady, therefore, shall not be afforded due respect from me!

        Steadfast and Loyal

        Congressman Allen B West (R-FL)”

And how is Col. West defending himself? He now claims that the e-mail was supposed to be private and that it was wrong for the Democrats to release it. Hmm, maybe he should have spoken to her directly instead of sending out a “private” open e-mail. Maybe if this was intended as a complaint to the leadership he should have written it as such. Maybe the Col. responded to quickly and without thinking ahead. Maybe the Col. is a bit too thin skinned for a soldier, let alone a politician.

Obviously, if it was a private comment in any form, she would have shared it like she did the private email. She is known for being inflammatory, and she ran into someone who wouldn’t put up with it. With Alan Grayson gone, the Democratic Party picked the next most partisan, antagonistic member as a representative.

Looks like Allen West is the one who is snippy and out of control.

What’s wrong with his email? As best I can tell he responded directly to fact-deficit innuendo rather than relying on “Weasel Words” to get his point across, and the female legislator is worthy of just such direct language.

Kudos to Col. West … keep giving it to them straight…
