Two More Arrests In Birmingham Hit And Run

BIRMINGHAM, England, Aug. 13 (UPI) — Police in Birmingham, England, said two more men were under arrest in the deaths of three men struck by a car during riots this week.

The two suspects are Joshua Donald, 26, from Ladywood — an inner city area of Birmingham — and a 17-year-old whose name was withheld, Sky News reported Saturday.

Two others, both men, were arrested Friday night in connection with the case in which Haroon Jahan, 21, and brothers Shazad Ali, 30, and Abdul Musavir, 31, died while attempting to keep looters away from stores during the riots that spread across England in a reaction to the shooting of a man by police.

In a press conference held earlier, Jahan’s father Tariq thanked the community for the outpouring of support, “especially the young people, for listening to what I have to say and staying calm,” he said.

Adbullah Khan, an uncle of the two brothers, said the family was “in complete shock and devastation.”

He said his nephews were “hard-working young men.”
