Police Officer Accused Of Sexual Assault
PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 12 (UPI) — A Philadelphia police officer is being investigated after a woman accused him of assaulting her while he was on duty, authorities said.
Philadelphia Special Victims Unit and Internal Affairs investigators began looking into matter after the woman reported the alleged assault early Thursday, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
The woman, in her 30s, told police that the officer — whose name has not been reported — picked her up in his patrol car and assaulted her after driving a short distance.
Police said the patrol car in question has been processed as a possible crime scene.
