Man Gets Year For Fondling Coma Patient
DETROIT, Aug. 4 (UPI) — A recently released sex offender was sentenced Thursday to a year in jail for fondling a comatose woman in a Detroit nursing home.
Cornell Lowman was also ordered to serve three years probation once he completes his term, The Detroit News reported. Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy urged Circuit Judge Carole Youngblood to hand down a 1-to-15-year sentence.
Investigators said Lowman molested a 65-year-old woman while he was visiting another patient in April. He was convicted of criminal sexual conduct.
Lowman, 49, was convicted of a sex crime in 1985. He was released in August 2010 after serving a sentence for larceny.
