Firm Offers NYC 'backyard Time Share'
NEW YORK, Aug. 4 (UPI) — A New York firm said it is offering 3,200 square feet of grassy space to rent for sunbathing and barbecues for $50 an hour.
Jacqui Kavanagh, 24, the mastermind behind the scheme, said rentals of the 145 Ludlow St. “backyard time share” will begin next week, the New York Post reported Thursday.
“I love New York more than anything — but some days in the summer, getting out to the beach is a hassle and getting to Central Park is a hassle,” Kavanagh said. “I know this sounds crazy at first reading. But it’s one of those things that can only be in New York.”
Kavanagh said her agency will also rent out equipment including $100 for a slip-and-slide, $200 for a kiddie pool and $150 for a barbecue grill.
