5 Dead In Car Crash

RELIANCE, S.D., Aug. 4 (UPI) — Five people died and three were injured in a head-on collision in which both vehicles went up in flames outside of Reliance, S.D., police said.
The crash occurred Tuesday on a rural road, the (Pierre, S.D.) Capital Journal reported.
State Highway Patrol said Tessa J. Crane was driving a 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass with two passengers when she collided with Gabriella D. Laroche, who was driving a 2001 Toyota Corolla with five passengers.
Laroche, 18, of Lower Brule, and three of her passengers, identified as Truman R. Armell, 33, of Winnebago, Neb.; Alvina J. Johnson, 32, and Deja Sazue, 10, both of Lower Brule, died at the scene.
Two young boys, ages 3 and 10, were thrown from the car.
Jessie Hawk Wing, 35, of Lower Brule, who was in the Oldsmobile, died at the scene.
Crane, 18, of Lower Brule and her other passenger, Caleb D. Mills, 22, also of Lower Brule, where taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the newspaper said.
