Hezbollah Offered Billions To Disarm

BEIRUT, Lebanon, Aug. 2 (UPI) — An official of the militant Lebanese group Hezbollah said his party has been offered “billions” to surrender its arsenal of weapons.

Naim Qassem, Hezbollah’s deputy secretary-general, said the group would continue its resistance regardless of the consequences, The Daily Star of Beirut reported.

“Billions of dollars have been offered to us to rebuild the deprived south Lebanon and in return to surrender our arms and stop the work of the resistance,” Qassem said during a ceremony for the eighth edition of his book “Hezbollah.”

“But we told them we’re not in need (of their money) and the resistance will go on regardless of the consequences,” he said.

Qassem described the resistance as a means of achieving liberation.

Rival political leaders have accused Hezbollah of using its weapons internally against Lebanese citizens and as a tool of political pressure.

    Call me a pessimist, but other than the boobs in the W H or some retards in Congress, the only people who coud think up such a twisted idea work in the State Department [aka 'let's buy another friend today'].
    Those who think they can buy friends may have bought some politicians in the past, but this is a new day. While it may come as a shock, some can’t be bought no matter how ‘lofty’ the goal is.
    In the event that it was someone (or group) in the State Department responsible for this insanity, I won’t say I told you so. But it sure will reinforce my low opinion of such quasihuman filth.

    This just shows the intelligents of our gubmnt that would have a terrorist organization give up their out dated arms for billions that could buy more advanced weaponry to kill with.Hey why not offer them a nuke instead?or just let Israel take care of the problem once an for all with out us sticking or nose in.They are far more capable then what you give them credit for.If we would stop giving help to the vary ones that want to destroy them I think just maybe they wouldn’t have as much a problem with them.
