Accused Killer's 1st Wife's Death Reviewed

METTER, Ga., Aug. 3 (UPI) — Authorities say they are looking into the death of a Metter, Ga., man’s first wife, following his arrest in the slaying of his third wife.
James Lynn Jr., 42, was arrested and charged Saturday after the body of Tonya Faye Lynn, 38, was identified by family members, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
Investigators say James Lynn confessed to killing his wife, who died of blunt force trauma to the head.
James Lynn had been charged with battery in May for pushing his late wife off a mattress, injuring her knee.
Tonya Lynn told police during another incident at her home that her husband “has a violent history,” the newspaper said.
The discovery of Tonya Lynn’s body led investigators to look into the death of James Lynn’s first wife, Julie Johnson Lynn, which had been ruled a suicide. On Jan. 13, 1990, less than two months after the two were married, Julie Johnson Lynn was found dead in her home with a single bullet in her head.
Family members have maintained that Lynn did not take her own life.
James Lynn married his second wife, Tamra Shaw, who is still alive, slightly over a year after Julie Lynn’s death. The two were married for less than three years.
