101-year-old Woman Survives Shooting

RICHMOND, Va., Aug. 2 (UPI) — A 101-year-old Richmond, Va., area woman is expected to survive after being shot in the neck during an exchange of gunfire, her daughter said.
Naomi Taggart of South Richmond is reported in stable but serious condition, breathing on her own and trying to talk, the Richmond (Va.) Times-Dispatch reported Tuesday.
Taggart was wounded in an exchange of gunfire between her grandsons who started shooting at each other during an argument over money, authorities said.
Steven L. Taggart, 28, and his brother, Kevin D. McCray, 36, shared a home with their grandmother.
Neither has been charged with their grandmother’s wounding, police said.
Taggart was arrested on an aggravated assault warrant not related to the shooting incident and police are seeking McCray on charges relating to the shootout with his brother, the Washington Post reported.
