Gadhafi Allegedly Threatened Berlusconi
ROME, July 30 (UPI) — Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi says he has learned of a plan by Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi to have him assassinated.
“Because that’s what he decided, he swore to this himself,” Berlusconi told Corriere della Serra.
Berlusconi did not go into detail about where the information came from but said it was from “reliable sources.”
Italy has been involved in the NATO military operation in support of the Libyan rebels. Gadhafi in speeches to the Libyan people has threatened terrorist actions in Europe in reprisal.
