Some of you have noticed that lately Personal Liberty Digest™ has been difficult to access and slow to respond. Posted comments are taking longer than normal to appear, and sometimes error messages are popping up.

We’re aware of the problem, and our technical team is hard at work to solve it. I won’t bore you with the details of the bugs we’re dealing with, but I can sum it up succinctly: We’ve outgrown our equipment.

Thanks to your wonderful support and patronage, our subscriber base has grown so large that our site is unable to handle all the traffic that flows in — especially early each morning. That, combined with a growing number of attacks from organizations that hate freedom and want to suppress the truth, has caused our site difficulties. I guess that is what you can expect when you become the eighth most popular Libertarian site on the Web.

Please bear with us. We will get the problem solved as quickly as possible. And very soon you’ll see even more news and new features as we work to provide you with the best, most timely information on the Internet.

    I checked ‘right winger’ on Wikipedia. I know I know. Wikipedia!

    As for the censorship part, that was just jesting. I was willing to bend the rules. I wonder if Libertarians and Constitutionalists are similar. Your thoughts?

    I use to be liberal. I am not, but a right winger? At least it is not a cuss word. :)

        You know Jeff, I’m not opposed to helping immigrants and allowing them entrance into the country. However, at such a low point, and the hardships that our country is experiencing, OB is not helping immigrants, so much as OB is helping himself at the enormous cost to taxpayers. This is nothing more than the criminal manipulation of both. I suppose we can console ourselves with the fact that every despot in history met with a horrible end, but I hope that we can kick his azz to the curb before that day comes. So much the sweeter!!!

        LOL – !! I’m missing this board and everyone on it. I’ve taken a long term temp assignment at an insurance agency not far from home, so I won’t be able to contribute as much as I used to; at least for now.

    Thanks for the “heads up”. Considering the content of this site, I considered the possibility of “dirty tricks” by the opposition as a reason for the technical problems. Paranoid? Yes. Would they? Quite probably. I am pleased that the real reason is the growing popularity of this site.

        I always consider them liberals. Aren’t they?

        B, Libertarians are liberals to a degree, but not as to everything. For example, Rep. Ron Paul is a libertarian, but he certainly believes in the constitutinal restraints placed on Congress. Liberals believe homosexual acts and same-sex marriages are just fine, but they don’t believe one should be allowed to rob banks.

        Keep up the good work, Bob. This website should reflect what it stands for regardless of political views. It’s all about “freedom of speech” and people’s opinions.

        We should be able to express our views or our concerns without being intimidated by ratings. Ratings are childish games.

        Rating and polls are not always accurate, and the media uses them to influence viewers to think the way they want them to.

      Even though there may be some that would blindly follow others to do evil its still small to some extent.Nam had the same effect on some and it still is because we are there and should have not been in the first place.I did go on to read Thoreau’s famous act of civil disobedience.Thanks never heard of him before.It helped lift me back up again.It seems that we are all puppets for the elite like it or not and what you and others here are doing is opening their eyes to it.So as depressing that was it does help others to see behind the curtains.Thanks

      DaveH, you have been a rock solid Libertarian and most certainly are singly resonsible for educating myself about Libertarians and the Libertarian Party. Thank you for the learning experience and for opening my eyes and thank you to all the others for helping to educate everyone that frequents PLD, no matter what your political bent is.

      Most of what is shared here can’t be found on the tube or in the news scribes without the combined efforts to search, share and educate/learn.

        Dave you were the one that turned me from just a conservative to a libertarian I had my doubts when MC Pain got back in but I have stuck to my guns and thanks to you and all that are here I have opened my eyes from when I started here about 2 or so years ago and have learned a hell of a lot that I didn’t want to know.This site has become a family meeting place for me and a new class room that I missed while I was serving and to all of you thanks!
        Now wipe your eyes and get back to work! :)

    Great news,I have been on other sites and I still like this one the best,I like the lay out, the writers, and the people that post here.Your writers have a wit about them and that makes the difference between other sites that only give the news.When you express your self with out constant moderation is far better than most other sites have.The people on here are more like a family that backs up or corrects your thoughts that really makes the difference so you can learn the truth with research rather than take someones word for it.I feel that you will make number 1 spot soon,congrats to all of you!

        If you are truly “an independant thinker” as you say you are, you shouldn’t need like/dislike buttons. You should know it’s about what people think, not about playing games with people’s minds.

        When we don’t like someone’s opinion, we should be able to say so without fear of reprisal.

        It’s my opinion, not about what you like or dislike.

        It is not about annonanimnity or fear of reprisal. If you were a regular visitor to this site you would know no one is shy about agreeing or dissagreeing with either the original article or comments about the original article. The like/dislike buttons would just be a simple way of agreeing or dissagreeing with a comment when you had nothing new to add to the conversation or a particular comment generated so many responses your reply would appear 15-20 replys down the page.

        I used the word “reprisal” in error, that’s not what I meant. What I meant is I do not like liberals or radical people telling me what to say or think by using a rating system. As you said, people should not be here to respond to 15 or 20 postings from liberals.

        We know sites sometimes are hacked or have technical difficulties, and sometimes you can’t even click the direction (up or down) you want.
