The whole debt ceiling is easy – just FREEZE SPENDING at last years level – without the automatic increases. It won’t solve the deficit, but 2012 will.

The tea party started out with the right idea that the government should abide by the (U.S. Constitution) constitutionality of the law.
However, most of them lost sight of this fact and became just as corrupt as most of the elected officials whom they replaced.
Most of them now feel everything has to be their way and there is no room for compromise because they and they alone know what is best for this country and if the people do not like it that’s just too bad.

It is not the size of government that is bad, it is the corrupt individuals within the government that makes the government bad.
The Constitution implies that government was created by the people and for the people to aid them in the conducting of their business.
However, most of our current elected officials now seem to think that the government was created by the corporations and for the corporations to aid them in the conducting of their business instead.

Transmittal letter of the President of the United States to the Senate of the United States:
With a view to receiving the advice and consent of the Senate to ratification, I transmit herewith a copy of the Constitution of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). This Constitution was adopted by the United Nations Conference on the Establishment of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization as a Specialized Agency on April 8, 1979, and signed on behalf of the United States of America on January 17, 1980. The report of the Department of State with respect to the Constitution is also transmitted for the information of the Senate.
The Constitution would establish UNIDO as an independent specialized agency of the United Nations system. It does not create a new entity, but rather revises UNIDO’s existing legal framework in a way that significantly improves the position of the United States and other major donors in budget, program and assessment determinations.
UNIDO’s principal purpose is to foster the industrialization of developing countries. It is currently the third largest executing agency for the United Nations Development Program. UNIDO’s wide-ranging activities are geared to aid developing countries in establishing the technical and institutional skills necessary for the industrialization. Many of these activities are consonant with the United States development of indigenous entrepreneurial and productive capabilities in the private sector. United States commercial and academic interests also benefit from UNIDO activity.
[RM: Among other things, UNIDO provided trained labor, resources and infrastructure to receive American Corporations who would soon be fleeing America after the UNIDO, WTO and NAFTA became law, in favor of cheaper labor costs, lower tax burdens and less oppressive U.S. governmental regulations. And it was done with American tax dollars. Yes, we-the-American-people unwittingly financed our own socioeconomic demise. The fleeing of the American corporations, of course, put millions of Americans out of work. Ronald Reagan was perhaps our most popular Republican president of the 20th century. But look at the socioeconomic damage that he initiated and then caused America with the help of congress, by signing and passing this evil, unconstitutional United Nations Constitution into law. This is what happens when we-the-American-people blindly trust our presidents and congresses to do the right thing and don't maintain the constant constitutional vigilance necessary to protect the U.S. Constitution and our constitutionally protected liberties.]
In recent years, there has been growing recognition of the need to formulate more effective institutions within the United Nations system to deal with the problems of development in an increasingly interdependent world. Such institutions need to serve the interests of all member nations and to be governed in a manner that realistically reflects the political and economic situation in the world today.
The Constitution would give UNIDO a new governing machinery that will make it more responsive to its member governments and that will give greater recognition to the special role of major donors, including the United States, other industrial democracies, and the Soviet bloc. If they act together, the major donors will be able to block decisions on UNIDO’s program and budgets. In this respect, the Constitution is a precedent-setting document.
The Constitution would also provide a specific right to withdrawal for UNIDO if the United States should ever determine that its interests are not served by continued membership. This could not be accomplished under UNIDO’s current statute without withdrawal from the United Nations.
While the Constitution refers to the objectives of helping establish a new international economic order, the United States has made clear its view that this does not refer to any preconceived notion of such an order as outlined in some UN resolutions to which the United States has taken exception.
The Constitution offers the United States important advantages over UNIDO’s current status. It provides an opportunity to increase UNIDO’s effectiveness in promoting economic development in the developing countries and, thus, its contribution to a more equitable and peaceful, international environment. In addition to helping create a better institutional framework, ratification of the Constitution by the United States will be a strong reaffirmation of our commitment to the industrial development of the less developed countries and demonstrate our political will to pursue beneficial relations with these countries.
I recommend that the Senate give prompt consideration to the Constitution and advise and consent to its ratification.

The power to interpret is the power to create law. 2 However, the United Nations Charter (hereinafter “the Charter”) does not provide for one authoritative interpreting body, but rather it is subject to multiple levels of interpreters whose interpretations are not binding. 3 These multiple layers of interpreting acts complicate the process of determining the Charter’s meaning. 4 The Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties (hereinafter “the Vienna Convention”) created rules for interpreting treaties in an attempt to provide consistency and clarity in the interpreting process. 5 However, the Charter is not an ordinary treaty. It is a constitutive treaty, creating a complex of organs similar to those of a state. 6 Arguably, the Charter should be subject to a different standard than that applied to treaties, or alternatively, should be characterized as a World Constitution. 7 Characterizing the Charter as a constitution would allow interpretations of the Charter to keep pace with the changes and developments in international law and the needs of the international community. 8 Such flexibility would comport with the notion expressed above by John Foster Dulles that the Charter must be allowed to evolve with the changing circumstances…

Perhaps he should rally true reps and get some Dems behind him and put the deadhead tea party back on their heels and get this job done. They don’t have the numbers to ruin this great country.

I think we all need to get behind him and write and call him and ALL of our reps, Republicans and Democrats alike and let them know what we the people want.

Claire’s comments spreads further than you think. We need leaders with good stable plans. A few short quips might get attention but does not indicate leadership. Truthful knowledge and skills to carry through on perhaps historical events is needed.

My gut feeling says “beware.” The Tea Party is a debatable organization. In the beginning, everyone told me it was for all people, Liberals and Republicans alike. Hmmm. Seems they are Republican oriented. Now I don’t know what they are and I sure as heck don’t like some of the cadidiates they are pushing. And some of the candidates they promoted did not appear to be too bright to me. Regarding the Tea Party–I will walk softly and carry a big stick. Something is in the forecast and I don’t think it is good weather. For some dang reason I do not trust them or their “backers.” Like I posted before, they ALL want to rule the world. And if this happens, we will all be sheeple. Like lambs led to the slaughter. This is what happens with groups/organizations. The moment they think they have “power” it goes to their heads and they lose sense of direction. I do not want any affiliation with this group or any of the others. I will distance myself from the Tea Party and the rest of the “organizations.”
