Oil: Idiocy Or Conspiracy?

Oil: Idiocy Or Conspiracy?

With oil priced at just two-thirds of its highs set three years ago, President Barack Obama launched yet another spend-now-pay-later program. But this time, the President has done it with something much harder to replenish than fiat dollars. He is spilling out the nation’s emergency crude oil reserves.

A year after Obama began limiting domestic petroleum exploration, he has begun siphoning off America’s last energy bulwark — the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). Thirty million* barrels of oil have already been frittered away by Obama, yet oil prices are now higher and supplies are tighter than they were before these precious emergency reserves were drained away.

Obama’s actions are so blatant that I refuse to give him the benefit of the doubt. Not only is the price of crude far lower than it was in the summer of 2008, but there is no physical shortage. Just the opposite; oil inventories in June were close to historic highs. There can be no doubt, however, that they will decline. The President has choked off domestic offshore oil exploration and has refused to open up potential petroleum-rich regions like Alaska for onshore exploration.

Does the President really believe we are in a crisis now? Or does he want to make things worse by throwing away our last line of defense, the SPR?

Crude Oil Prices Light Crude

Last week, Congressional leaders grilled Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke as to why Americans are facing rising prices even in the face of a stagnant economy. Crude oil is traded in U.S. dollars, meaning that petroleum exporters like OPEC are insisting on higher well-head prices for finite amounts of oil in a world where Washington is able to create an infinite amount of dollars. It all translates to higher prices at the pump — if not this summer, then certainly by the end of the year.

Worldwide oil supplies are not keeping pace with global demand. Emerging markets’ demand for oil is rising, while mature fields in Russia, the North Sea and Mexico start to wind down.

Congressman Bill Cassidy (R-La.) along with 26 other lawmakers, signed a letter to the President on the drawdown of the SPR. They openly question why the Administration tapped the SPR without adopting a national energy policy that will lessen America’s dependence on foreign oil. The letter begs the question: Why not develop America’s energy resources and remove regulations on drilling in the Gulf of Mexico?

The letter from those members of Congress states:

It’s time to adopt a national energy policy which develops America’s natural resources, creates jobs and lessens our dependence on foreign oil. By tapping the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, the administration acknowledged that rising gasoline costs and increased dependence on foreign oil are unacceptable. Yet, the Department of the Interior continues to delay the issuance of new permits for offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.

The current energy policies damage not only Louisiana’s economy but also exacerbate America’s energy problems. The president has often expressed interest in alternative energy. These polices can be pursued without ignoring domestic energy resources and the associated good paying jobs.

Is Obama acting out of stupidity or is something more sinister going on? That’s a reasonable question, considering that the President is driving America toward an energy maelstrom.

Obama apologists argue that the President simply doesn’t know better, that he and his team of energy advisers really do believe that the draining off of America’s emergency energy reserves makes sense so that the country can afford one last summer’s trip to Nantucket.

I don’t buy that Obama is stupid, not for one second. Say what you will about the President, but he is intelligent, probably too much so for the country’s own good. Obama is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School. Ivy League universities don’t graduate dummies. I have had two friends who graduated from Yale. Both are remarkably smart.

So what does that leave us with? I believe we have a President who is pressing forward an energy policy that will backstop Saudi Arabia at any cost.

Bandar Barry

Because of the Bush family’s close relationship with the Saudi royal family, Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdul-Aziz, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the United States from 1983 to 2005, was nicknamed Bandar Bush.

And while each President since Richard Nixon has supported the House of Saud, no President before Obama has bowed so diligently and committed so much to Saudi Arabia. It seems the Saudi Kingdom dictates policy to Obama rather than the other way around.

Two years ago, another Saudi former ambassador to the United States, Turki al-Faisal, wrote an essay for Foreign Policy badgering “misguided” U.S. politicians who promote American energy independence from the Kingdom. According to the former ambassador, it is “political posturing at its worst.”

I am offended that our President would take such lectures on decency from a tribal prince living in a brutal Muslim regime.

PhillyBurbs.com had the same conclusion on July 11.

It’s not just that Obama has presided over the near-end or slow crawl of new domestic drilling. The administration has been dragging its feet on approving a game-changing new pipeline (from Canada) that would, according to a December 2010 study commissioned by the Obama administration itself, effectively eliminate our dependence on oil from Saudi Arabia…

Our dependence on, in many cases, anti-American oil — Saudi oil, Nigerian oil, Venezuelan oil and the rest — will continue to rise, transferring our remaining wealth to the stand-out Shariah states, kleptocracies [SIC] and Marxist states of the world, further entrenching that ‘oasis of interdependence and cooperation’ Saudi royals talk about. It’s the Saudi dream come true. But it’s an American nightmare.

I can’t speculate as to why the President of the United States is selling out the nation to appease Muslim oil exporters. I believe Obama’s energy policies are inconsistent with those of a President working for America’s best long-term interests.

Action to take: Obama’s policies are leading to a depreciating dollar and higher oil prices. My expectation is that within the next 18 months, crude will surpass $150 per barrel. I urge you to buy blue chip North American petroleum stocks. Suncor Energy, one of Canada’s leading oil sands producers (SU, NYSE, $39.50), remains one of my favorite picks.

In the end, all of Obama’s horses and all of Obama’s men won’t be able to put the House of Saud back together again.

Yours in good times and bad,

Explore, develop and produce our own energy. This is the only way to maintain our freedom and independence. If we are dependent of others in this regard we can and will be in a precarious position. When Washington leadership depletes our strategic oil reserves, allows our enemies to develop and test nuclear weapons & delivery systems, fails to enforce our borders, attacks our 2nd amendment rights, raises taxes on our job creators, cuts defense spending, phases out NASA and space defense funds, and bankrupts our country by borrowing huge sums of money from China, it is time to read the writing on the wall. How long are we going to keep our heads in the sand?

There ya go! Right on Kimbo!

I question his education, he is hiding that to the degree that it can’t be supported. I think he is a puppit. He is deliberately taking us to our knees and we are just letting it happen. Why doesn’t each industry that has been so negatively affected by this monster get up and shout, carry signs in front of the white house saying we want our jobs back. That at least might make those people aware that the media outlets are not telling the whole story. Thousands of people are out of work in LA, as a result of his “regulations” I listened to them lament on cpan when Rep Issa, called a conference for them to air their complaints BUT NOTHING IS BEING DONE, DAMMNIT. The man is taking us to our knees, he is an angry man with too much power who wants vengence against this once great country. WAKE UP EVERYBODY, DO SOMETHING. KRUPIN

We need to remember that the reason the reserves are called “Strategic Petroleum Reserves” is because the oil is set aside for cases of national emergencies – primarily to mobilize our troops. I do not believe it is to late – it is never to late.

  • Robert Lebischak

Get rid of the emergency reserve and we won’t need a military, without oil it won’t be able to move. Is this an idea that our leader has, makes you wonder doesn’t it?

  • LAW2

I have lived in two oil producing states, Wyoming and Montana, and have witnessed for myself the current oil boom going on in North Dakota, and while gas prices are the same here as elsewhere the effects of this recession are much less noticible in states with strong energy sectors. These are, for sure, dirty, dangerous, and physically demanding jobs out in the oilfields. However, those jobs really support the rest of the economy. The retail stores, bars & resturaunts, motels are all busy. People are holding on to their regular jobs and McDonalds is starting pay at $10.00 per hour and having trouble filling positions because anyone that can pass a drug test is working at $30 per hour in the gas and oil fields. How much longer this will be true is difficult to guage because alot of the oil & gas mineral rights in the West were reserved by the Federal Government during homestead days. If they shut down the permitting process we are well and truely doomed. It (the permitting process) has already been slowed down by environmental groups that sue at the drop of a hat over a birdnest or some other ridiculous issue. God forbid that someone should find an arrowhead! When there is no sanity at the local level, you can bet that there is no sanity higher up the bureacratic food chain. Why are the idiots in charge? Don’t tell me the Ivy League schools don’t graduate dummies….there is always the guy that graduated last in his class, and Ivy League schools are famous for adhereing to the principal of “it’s not what you know as much as who you know”.

    • DaveH

They are not idiots, Law2. They know exactly what they are doing — taking advantage of citizens’ ignorance and greed to advance their own power and perks. Even if they had the best of intentions, the fact is that only the individual knows what makes that individual happy. There is no way that even the most intelligent leader can make everybody happy. Big Government can’t work. The best we could do is get them out of the Marketplace and out of our personal choices, so that the individual can do what it takes to make himself/herself happy without the interference of Government busybodies.

  • Bootsaddle

We only have his claims of being a graduate of Harvard and Yale. The Universities themselves will not release any records attesting to that claim (of course, the universities also will not let US Military Recruiting offices have a presence on their campuses). No other students in either Harvard or Yale remember him – not even the class leaders (who were in the very same classes Obama claims to have attended). The only higher education I have seen verified was to Occidental College under the name of Barry Soetoro (as stated on his application for Foreign Aid to attend the college and a citizen of Indonesia) Obama is, verifiably, using another man’s social security number and an attorney recently uncovered records of a name change that took place in British Columbia, Canada. The name was changed to Barack Hussein Obama. Give me a break – this guy is taking marching orders from someone else (probably George Soros and his minions) to assist them in their attempt to institute Global Governance. In my opinion his hatred for this country is a primary factor for his complicity in what I personally believe is seditious activity. It may be possible for a group of people to get an attorney and sue him for taxation without representation – since he is circumventing our Congress to institute policies which are harmful to our nation and has gone against our Constitution to do so. He needs to have an “opportuntity” to defend his actions, if he can.

      Bootsaddle,
Homework man, homework. The “AP” story that claims “The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program.” was printed on April 1st, 2009. The AP has no records of this story and according to their representative,

“The story purported to be from The Associated Press on April 1 is fake.”

Why do you folks continue to cling to an April fools joke as proof? And who’s SS# is Obama using? Is it Jean Ludwig who died in 1981 in Honolulu HI.? His number started with 045, but Nancy McKiernen, who made this claim on her site “Tea Party Brewing: A Place for Patriots” claims that Obama’s starts with 042? How about the fact that the group credited with getting the information through the freedom of information act, “Americans for Freedom of Information” did not exist at the time? Here’s a press release from May 6, 2008,

“”Americans for Freedom of Information” May 6: We are the Americans for Freedom of Information. We are a fictitious group of individuals; i.e. we do not exist. And yet, for a nonexistent organization we wield great power and knowledge! O Yea, Verily. OK, actually, not verily at all. Anti-verily, as a matter of an utter lack of fact.”

Again, why do you cling to these “facts” when they have been so thoroughly discredited?

“..recently uncovered records of a name change that took place in British Columbia, Canada.”?
Maybe you neglected to read this from birtherreport.com
      [http://obamareleaseyourrecords.blogspot.com/2011/06/attorney-stephen-pidgeon-found-record.html]

“Dr. Corsi: Pidgeon’s name change in Canada hoax traces back to this German website that is still pushing the fake Kenyan birth certificate that Obama supporters two years ago admitted forging in order to embarrass those of us challenging Obama eligibility. Don’t fall for Pidgeon’s ruse without verification from the Canadian provincial government that will never come.”

Just one discredited report after another.

      • DaveH

        Yada, Yada, Yada.
Would you hire an employee, Kinetic, who would not reveal anything about himself to you? I wouldn’t. Certainly the most powerful man in the country should not have such an opaque past:
        http://www.dianawest.net/Home/tabid/36/EntryId/1424/-The-Case-Against-Barack-Hussein-Obama.aspx

      • DaveH

Most importantly, it is extremely hard for me to believe that any man, who has gotten as far as Obama has, could be so extremely economically ignorant. I suspect, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Obama and crew are purposely ripping off the citizens of this country, while double-speaking to those who are indeed ignorant to gain their support. He is the lowest form of Politician.

      • Kinetic1

        DaveH,
        You do enjoy making me work, don’t you. Another fine link full of the birther stories that members of this site love to quote. Let’s look at a few of the listed items in “The Case Against Barack Hussein Obama”;
        1) There’s no question about President Obama’s fathers nationality, so let’s skip this.
        2) The law suggesting that his mother was “too young” is immigration law and would only apply if he were born outside of the U.S., so you would have to prove he was not born in Hawaii for this to be of any consequence.
        3) If you were to listen to the interview of Obama’s Grandmother you might note that the translator makes it clear that she has misunderstood the question to ask where she was at the time of his birth. Many of the claims made in this document link to articles that suggest that no one can recall his being born in Hawaii, but that is not true. In January of 2009, Barbara Nelson, a teacher at the time of his birth shared her recollection of a conversation she had had with the doctor who delivered the young Obama. In fact, her recollection answers several claims since 10 years after his birth she was a teacher at the prep school where Obama was a student.
        9) “Circa 1967 Stanley Ann Dunham married an Indonesian Muslim named Lolo Soetoro” Much is made of this marriage and the subsequent Indonesian adoption of young Barack. The assumption is that, due to his adoption he became an Indonesian citizen or carried dual citizenship, either of which would disqualify him. Based on information acquired from the U.S. Government that I have pointed out several times, the U.S. does not recognize foreign adoptions as an end to citizenship. In fact, it does not recognize a parent’s right to denounce citizenship in the name of a child. The argument that dual citizenship is a deal buster is moot since the U.S. does not recognize anything other than the original American citizenship in cases such as this.
And on and on it goes.
        13) There is indeed a Gary Kreep from the U.S. Justice Foundation, but he has stated that there was no subpoena and that it’s all a hoax.
        14) in essence, no one at Columbia university remembers Obama. That is except for 2 room mates, teachers and those who may have read the piece he wrote for a school magazine called the Sundial. And then there’s the student directory where he was listed, with his address.
        16) Obama has not released his medical records. As a candidate, Obama’s doctor offered up a synopsis of his health saying that, aside from his attempt to quit smoking there was nothing unusual to report. He gave a few details (*Triglycerides of 44(normal under 150), cholesterol 173 (normal under 200), HDL 68 (normal over 40), and LDL 96 (normal under 130). Chem 24, urinalysis and CBC were normal, PSA was 0.6, very good. An EKG was normal.) and let it go at that. Do we really need more?

I agree, it seems odd that there are no records of his parents marriage or divorce. I suppose they may never have been married, but that is of no concern to me. And it does bother me that Stanley Ann’s repatriation records are nowhere to be found, but given that Barack’s American citizenship was never renounced I don’t see the issue here. Sure, I question why President Obama has not released some of the records just to shut people like you up, but at the same time why do we need to see his grade school reports? Why do I care what grades he received at Columbia? And even if he did release all the records in question, recent history shows us that birthers would not accept them as real, so what’s the point? Well, that’s another couple of hours wasted on this clap trap, but at least you can’t say that I refuse to seriously look into your claims.

  • Dsang1

I said this the minute he said he was releasing from our oil reserves. He has no intention of replacing it. He has to put this country on its knees in order to become a dictator and he has to do it before 2012! Things will begin to unravel even faster as we get closer to the election. I get tired of the media giving him the benefit of doubt as to what his reasons are. (or is he just dumb.. no he is not!)

ALLEN WEST for PRESIDENT! He can restore dignity to this Nation… if it can be saved. We all need to be ready to fight for what we believe in if it comes to that.

  • AJ

Yes it does seem that Obama is very friendly to the Islamic nations compared to his own. There are rumblings that he is a Muslum Brotherhood plant. One things for sure, he has an agenda and he is following it to a tee. When it’s all over you can bet that Gorgy Schwartz will have his pockets over flowing with money. Oh I mean George Sorrass.

  • http://msn.com James Smith

I believe he is a muslim and could care less about the American people. He would rather bow to another nation than take care of the United States. What ever happened to By the PEOPLE for the people? It is now by the gov. for the gov. I truly am disapointed in our government, actually ASHAMED.

something sinister BEEN going on, for many, many, many years. And the repukes and dems have all been in on the same game…

vote Ron Paul 2012, if there is ANY chance outside of an actual revolution, it’s going to be through him.

    • DaveH

Ron Paul doesn’t advocate violence, Leona. But yes, let’s vote for Ron Paul. With the exception of Gary Johnson, the rest of the candidates would just take us further down the road to destruction.

  • enufisenuf

Why is the Crumb in Chief allowed to sell the reserves off?? It is my understanding that is to be tapped in time of war and or national disaster. But this fool is bleeding the thing dry for why. Is he stupid yes, and is he up to something – yes. I felt the day he got voted in we were giving the keys to this country to bin Laden and Alqeida and militant muslums and with the building of mosques and now the court systems supporting and trying to enforce sharia law it looks like this poor country is going down that road –
Like Patticake said he has to be taken out of office along with the rest of the useless baggage this government now has otherwise everyone better get used to bowing down in the streets at noon and wearing a towel on your head

    • Kinetic1

      enufisenuf,
“bleeding the thing dry “? Really? The nation’s oil reserves have a capacity of 706 million gallons. President Obama released aprox. 30 million, less than 5% of the current reserve. So by your assessment the blood bank is bleeding me dry when they take 1 of the 10.25 pints of blood in my body.

So, what did Republicans have to say when Bush released 20 million gallons to reduce prices in 2008?

Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., called tapping the reserve an “acceptable short-term proposal,”

Rep. Zach Wamp, R-Tenn. said (President Bush) “could take 25 percent of the (reserve) and throw it on the market, and that would effectively stop (oil) speculation,” “Even though it’s a short-term infusion, it would be such a shot in the arm to supply that prices would come down.”

Nothing about him “bleeding the thing dry”?

      • DaveH

“The nation’s oil reserves have a capacity of 706 million gallons.”?
        There goes your credibility, Kinetic:
        http://www.fossil.energy.gov/programs/reserves/spr/index.html

Do you even know the difference between a gallon and a barrel?

      • Kinetic1

        DaveH,
Yep, you caught me in a typo. I apologize for not paying closer attention. You are correct, it should have been barrels and not gallons, and your site gives a slightly larger capacity than mine, but it doesn’t change the fact that 30 million barrels is not “bleeding the thing dry”. In fact it only strengthens my point, but good on you for catching my slip.

      • DaveH

        Kinetic,
You further weaken your credibility by claiming a whole word repeated twice in your comment is a typo. Come on, Kinetic, tighten it up.

      • Kinetic1

        DaveH,
By the by, why didn’t you question Mr. Myers’ credibility?

      • JeffH

Kinetic1, no reason to question Mr. Meyer credibility. If you care to, please do it yourself.

      • DaveH

It’s no secret, Kinetic, that I dislike Liberals. Maybe if you guys could start using more facts, less conjecture, and less manipulative tactics, I wouldn’t feel the need to correct you.

    • Jim Cumber

It is NOT a “towel”: it is a “sheet”. You CANNOT, therefore, refer to Muslims as “Towelheads”. HOWEVER, you CAN refer to them as “Sheetheads!” ;D

      • JeffH

        :)

  • John

Maybe we should start a voter rebellion. How about a slogan that says ” If fuel remains more than 2.00 per gallon, longer than 30 days, all elected officials are fired and we have new elections” or If fuel at the pump is more than 2.00per gallon, every 30days all federal employees must return 10% of thier net income to the people due to mismanagement, and incompentence in doing thier jobs. It is time that we stop paying for sub-standard work from elected officials and thier employees. Having worked in the Oilfields in the Gulf of Mexico, and knowing where there are capped off wells that would take less than 30 days to open and start producing crude, the entire country is being shortchanged by our polititcians. Oh and for the people who believe the message from enviromentelist that we are running out of oil, you are right, according to studies that are kept secret, the oilfields in the Gulf of Mexico will run dry in a little over 700years at our current useage.

    • Tony

John. No need. 2012 is coming – dangerously late, but it’s coming. Get out there as promote a commitment that ALL who are up for re-election that have been in DC more than 6 years have to go. The only exception would be those that have a sterling record that demonstrates their knowledge of our Constitution and adherence to it. ALL – they simply have to go, left or right, red jacket or blue – it doesn’t matter. The water of the Potomac is obviously poisoned with something that eradicated common sense. Anyone there that thinks they’re smarter than our founders need professional help. They also need a career change. Help them make that happen in 2012.

Every day it’s something else… this man is destroying America from the inside. Why don’t we impeach him??? I just don’t get it – what are we waiting for? This traitor has done more harm to our great country than all past presidents put together. Get him out of the White House while we still have a chance to survive. If we don’t and he finishes bankrupting us, how will we explain our lack of action to our kids and grandkids? Impeach obama NOW!! and get the rest of those fools out of congress!

    • Kinetic1

      Patticake,
Please provide us with a honest, reliable, provable and responsible list of impeachable crimes that Washington might address. I understand that you don’t like President Obama. I understand that, while the majority of those in power have put aside claims that he is not an American or is not American enough you are still clinging to the belief that he is Kenyan or Indonesian. I even understand how you can feel betrayed by his willingness to bow to foreign leaders and apologize for the actions of the last administration, but frustrating as it may be I don’t see where you have a legal leg to stand on when it comes to impeachment.

      • DaveH

Nobody is impeachable if you just keep your blinders on tight. But Obama has been stepping all over the rule of law. This country was established on the Principle that no man is above the law, not even the president. While Obama is certainly not the first, there comes a time when people must stand up and correct the trampling of our country’s laws by power-hungry leaders.
        List of Obama impeachable offenses:
        http://www.larouchepac.com/node/18710

      • Brad

        DaveH,

Lets make it easy for all to see.

        * Most recent is his flagrant violation of the U.S. Constitution and the War Powers Resolution by deploying U.S. armed forces and conducting war against Libya without Congressional authorization or a declaration of war. Indeed, Obama has insisted that a United Nations resolution authorizing “humanitarian intervention” is a higher authority than the United States Constitution.

        * Already in April 2009, Obama was engaging in actions to destroy the sovereignty of the United States, when, at the London G20 meeting, he agreed to actions, including the expansion of “Special Drawing Rights,” which gave the International Monetary Fund increased power over the economy of the United States and other sovereign nations.

        * Obama’s shutdown and destruction of the NASA manned space flight program, on behalf of the British, was what triggered Lyndon LaRouche’s first formal call for the impeachment of Obama, in February 2010.

        * Obama’s health-care plan, modeled on Hitler’s T-4 policy, in its scheme to deny medical care and treatment to certain categories of people, constitutes a crime against humanity under the Nuremberg Principles to which the United States is bound by law and treaty.

        * Obama’s violation of the separation of powers, by means of unilateral executive actions, in violation of U.S. law including treaty law, has exceeded even that of George W. Bush and Cheney in many respects.

        * He has continued the use of signing statements, and has made dozens of appointments of special “czars” and recess appointments, to circumvent Congressional oversight and the Senate confirmation process.

        * He has expanded domestic surveillance and wiretapping, has continued the use of abusive detentions and interrogations of prisoners taken in the “war on terror,” and he has expanded the use of targeted assassinations, including claiming the right to kill American citizens abroad without any due process.

        * He has effectively legalized torture and prisoner abuse in violation of U.S. law and treaty obligations, by directing his Justice Department to cover up hundreds of cases of abuse and torture and even deaths, from the Bush-Cheney years.

        * Most recently discovered Obama is using a Connecticut SSN when he was allegidly legaly born in Hawaii and it’s been determined his LBC had been forged which in itself is a felony.

The rest of you libs out there try refutting all the charges, please try!

      • Dan az

To not respond to the libtards would be letting them know that its time for them to give up disrupting our forum with blatant lies and stupidity.I know its hard because they never bring the facts and we just want to prove them wrong but it is their way of disrupting every article there is, and they are like a mosquito that just wont go away.Every day the same crap from them and I have grown tired of them so please lets just ignore them. When you see their name just skip them and stay on subject Know matter how fun it is to marginalize their stupidity.

      • JeffH

Big Brother Dan, sounds like a plan… :)

      • Kinetic1

        Dan AZ,
“… just skip them and stay on subject…”
The subject is the Obama administrations decision to release 30 million barrels of oil from the national reserve. The article asks the question “Is Obama acting out of stupidity or is something more sinister going on?”.

“Vic” says Obama is an an islamo-communist preparing USA to war with Islam.
“s c” Takes off on Obama’s education, his ability to walk on water and his qualifications as a Walmart greeter.
“Ed Fouts” writes “VOTE OUT THIS POS AND DEPORT BACK TO KENYA IN
THE MONKEY JUNGLE WHERE HE BELONGS”
And when “patticake” calls for impeachment I ask what legitimate charges she has.
So I’m the one who took us “off subject”?

As long as we’re “off subject”
“…Know[sic] matter how fun it is to marginalize their stupidity.” How much fun is marginalizing someone’s stupidity?

Know matter how fun it is to marginalize their stupidity.

WTF is this? “You are posting comments too quickly. Slow down.”

I have posted 5 comments since 12:53 PM…..are we now limited on number of messages we can post? Thanks for wasting 20-30 minutes of time composing a reasonable reply…..since my post went out into La La land…never to be seen again.

Dan, like you , I am tired of the lack of discussion on the boards (not just here….but everywhere)…because we can’t seem to get past our narcissistic inner selves….we all must be right on every issue…facts be damned.
As Douglas Adams stated, “I don’t believe it. Prove it to me and I still won’t believe it!”…We can’t see the truth….because our egos won’t allow it.

TRY TREASON! See Article II, Section 4 and Article III, Section 3 of the US Constitution. SPECIFIC PARTICULARS: 1) in a speech in Cairo, Egypt, on 04 Jun of 2009, he promised to change the US Internal Revenue Code to permit Muslims living in America to pay Zakat, with a tax deduction, which is the Muslim “alms” tax (Shari’ah Law) which is 2.5% of one’s income per year, which is divided into 8 equal parts. Part 7 provides funds for Muslims fighting Jihad! This is “levying War against the United States” and “adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.” BTW, Treason is a capital offense, with execution by hanging or firing squad! 2) Seeking to convert the United States into a “fundamentalist Islamic State” abiding by strict, “Shari’ah Law” through his “Obamacare” Health Law. On page 107 of the Obamacare Law, it provides for Islamic “Jizya” Tax, which is part of “Dhimmitude”: attempts to force conversions to Islam by punitive taxation, of non-Muslims in a State following it’s conquest by Jihad! Christians must pay the Obamacare tax, but Muslims are granted a “religious exemption” from the Obamacare Tax! By thus violating his Constitutional Oath of Office (abolishing First Amendment Freedom of Religion) he is also committing Treason: giving Aid and Comfort to the Enemy and Levying War against the United States.

Let’s set a date to go to Washington DC and tell Obama and all politicans that don’t want to abide by the CONSTITUTION to LEAVE.
It is obvious from the comments in this discussion that millions of
Americans with common sense could step in immediately and stop the demise of our country! What better way to get a New Congress of true Americans on an immediate basis. Why are we allowing our government to continue to run our lives? The Government gives us nothing, they
are only redistributing what they take from us. If we have sense enough to produce it, we have sense enough to know how to properly use it.

What Ohmama’s administration has done was drop the price of gas .20 cents to apease the nation. Draining the SPR is tantamount to treason if the nation can’t recover that oil through our resources then we may be doomed. Today, this country has more untapped oil in the ground then all the middle east and OPEC combined and the greenies/ohmama administration are willing to let the US bleed itself dry.

By tapping into said oil will create probably millions of new jobs nationaly, then selling the oil on the open market will allow the US to pay down the national debt. On another note revenues to the US treasury will increase with added new jobs to include a plethera of other taxes coming into the treasury i.e., ss, medicare/medicade and the list goes on. The national geological society has already determined there’s approximately 100 year’s worth of oil and natural gas still in the ground, we need an administration willing to get this country moving again instead of turning us into the worlds largest third world country!

obama adm. did not lower fuel by twenty cents, it was already comming down in price. Besides, he only released about 1 1/3 days worth of fuel…..that doe’s not equal a .20 cent drop. Oil prices started rising a day or two later.

      • Brad

        jibbs,

you are right but with the drop in gas prices that’s what Ohmama and his administration will key in on, saving you and I at the pump. Yes you are also right, the day after he released 30 million barrels from the SPR the price of oil did jump. It’s my belief he did it as a political ploy to boost his numbers because what good did the release of 30 million barrels of oil from the SPR really do?

  • http://paulitics.us Paul Coonan

Correction. Obama did not release 30 billion barrels, with a ‘B’, he only released 30 million, with an ‘M.’

The US consumes about 20 million barrels a day so it is clear to see why the action taken by Obama has done nothing. It was like throwing a drop of water at a raging forest fire, however the WA Post put out an article and labeled it as “Breaking News” as if it was newsworthy at all.

It was obviously for political gain where most sheeple would see the large 30 million number and assume that is was a lot when in reality, like I said, it was throwing a drop of water at a raging forest fire.

I would humbly like to point out another error. You assume that ‘smart’ and ‘knowledgeable’ are interchangeable. ‘Smart’ usually means the ability to learn. Doesn’t mean you WILL learn a damn thing. I have known many highly intelligent people who were lazy and dumb as a rock. As a graduate of Barnard and a Mensa member (at one time), I have met the ‘upper’ class and find them often to be supercilious idiots.

    • pegasis

Yes, it was 30 million, but the kicker is, he didn’t release it for U.S. consumption, he released it for foriegn consumption on the anouncemenmt from a foriegn national, and without consulting anyone. This ‘President” follows the directives, orders, mandates of foreign government/agencies, and totally ignores the PEOPLE of the U.S., as well as ignoring and/or twisting the Constitution and the Bill of Rights to suit his own agenda.

To tinker with the oil markets solely for political reasons (and no other explanation fits the facts) is not just immoral it is counterproductive. In spite of his own high opinion of himself Barry cannot defy the laws of gravity or economics. His decisions assume that he can control events across the globe and that is the apogy of arrogance. All it will take is another major natural disaster to spin this nation into chaos. Another Katrina in the Gulf or “the big one” in California and this nation will unravel.

He truly doesn’t know any better, because he’s doing what he’s been told to do by his masters (via his handler). Sorry, but Ivy League schools CAN turn out dummies. Selling out the nation is but one of his “duties” as a false prez.
He’s giving America ‘something for everyone,’ and that’s a fact. However, he’s also doing all this (and more) with Prozac methods instead of hot, black coffee. Haavid, it seems, is devolving.
Now, if this prez could walk on water, raise the dead or turn water into wine, perhaps we’d have a reason to get behind him. He can’t even read from that half-assed teleprompter, and so it would be worse than illogical to expect good results from someone who combines mankind’s worst behavior with a hatred of America that he’s known since he was a brat.
I doubt if what passes for a ‘prez’ could make it at a DMV or as a doorgreeter at a WalMart. Thanks for NOTHING, you herds of inbred voters who won’t admit you’re ultraliberal progressives – and worse. Prepare to lock and load, and use banana clips.

Good research Gibbs. But I wish it had put in it to do away with the IRS completely and invoke a flat tax for everyone to have to pay some, the 45% plus who pay nothing now. No wonder we are going broke. I like the prioritize the repayment of the national debt, too. Congress also should stop Obama from going through our national strategic oil reserve when there is no emergency. He has already gone through a third of it for no reason other than to harm the economy more. When are we ever going to get rid of this treasonous monster? four more years and there sill be no country left.Congress should launch an investigation into all the unconstitutional things he has done and to impeach him. It makes what Nixon did Child’s play. And talk about cover up that is an every day occurrence with this administration.

  • pete the simian

    John,

It’s time to go with solar cells. Cut off the oil supply vectors and then deplete any stored reserves. It’s like a siege.

Respectfully submitted, The Royal House of Saud better start converting their dollars to precious metals.

    Solar Cells – that’s the ticket !!!

    • Les

And your engineering degree is from???? Solar on the ground is not even a viable option, if it was we would be using it already. Look up the unit cost for fuel production and you will find that a gallon of gas is the cheapest per unit cost. Wind fits in the same category. That’s why all the wind farms are shutting down.

The only way this works is if you squeeze gas out of the equation by making it unreasonably expensive. And that my friends is exactly what the socialists in control of our country have in store for us. Socialist typically suck at math so it is easy for them to rationalize what they are up to. But they are only doing this for our own good. – rotflmao

Rome didn’t see it coming either….

      • DaveH

It’s even more sinister than that. The Alternative Energy producers exist almost solely on taxpayer dollars and Government protection. Those producers are living off the consumers and taxpayers’ backs. Corporate welfare at its finest.

      • Brad

        DaveH,

Ya think, looking at the ethanol ponzi scheme, it’s takes twice the energy (coal, natural gas or nuclear generation) just to produce one gallon of corn ethanol, plus they are getting subsidies from the, guess who, the guvment. When ethanol is added to regular gas and your vehicle was made before 2004 in time you will be replacing your entire fuel system because ethanol eats away specific rubbers due to chemical reactions from ethanol. The major kicker is that ethanol does not get the same bang for the buck as does gas so, our fuel economy suffers and the Ohmama administrations is caling for better fuel standards from auto industry. What’s next cars that aren’t strong enough to withstand a 35 mph collision becuase they are too light so they can reach that 35 mpg rating, don’t think so.

My energy plan would encourage the drilling of our own natural resources holding 10% in reserve, producing another 50% for domestic consumption then selling the remaining 40% on the open market. In time these new and emerging renewable energy sources will mature allowing the US in time to convert to an alternate energy source for us. So, until that day happens we’re stuck with Ohmama and it’s current administration, holding us down and selling us to the highest bidder “China”.

      • Sue in New York

        AMEN, brother….well said!

Are you smarter than a fifth grader? What you are suggesting, is noway cost effective. If it was, I would have done it already!!!

      • DaveH

The solar panels aren’t free. Not by a long shot. They also don’t work when the sun’s not out, so to have consistent power you must have battery storage (oh the horrors, those poisonous metals) and/or get the connectors to patch into your existing electric utility when the panels aren’t working, which is most of the time.
Pete, do you really think if it made economic sense there would need to be Government subsidies and other Government aid to get people to buy them?

      • pete the simian

You got to adapt ! Why ? Because the government is going to make it harder for you to use cheap coal, gas and oil. And forget nuclear – Fukishima killed that off.

Subsidies for buying solar energy products ? GREAT !!!! Think of it as a tax refund ….

      • always right

so, simian (simpleton?) can you describe to me how your solar panels are going to power my car to get me 126 miles round trip to and from work? That’s where most our gas gets used, my friend; getting to and from work. Can you tell me how your solar panels will move 80,000 lbs of truck full of fresh produce from the central Valey of Ca. to Chicago while the produce is still fresh? How about 100,000 of those trucks? Can you explain how solar panels will move an F-18 Horent off of the deck of the USS Ronald Reagan and how the Reagan ill get from point A to point B? How many solar panels does it take to move a MRAP full of troops from a green zone to a forward patrol area and back? Where do we mount them on a CV-22 Osprey?

      • pete the simian

        Mr. Always Right,

Are you going to pay me $$ to explain and develop all this for you ? I like you, Mr. always right, your a tight wad cheap b@st@7d like me ! But I’m not giving you any “free” technical services…. Go to the public library and figure it all out ….

Hey, don’t blame me – blame the American voters for putting the wrong people into office.

Wait until Obama gets re-elected !!! HA HA !! I hope you guys started building solar panels for your house by then ….

      • DaveH

You really think anybody would pay you for your advice, Pete? Quit monkeying around.

      • pete the simian

        Yup – a Grease Monkey !!

Have you ever thought, if nobody wants to pay, that makes my advice “priceless”….HA HA !!

    • Tony

Pete – not just yet. While solar cells may have a spot in the future, today they cost more than the value of the energy they produce, not to mention the other problems like the sun not always shining. Even when solar cells are proposed in the Mojave desert, the enviro-mental cases pop up like woodchucks wailing about some species of rattlesnake that might be offended and the project is scuttled. We need to keep search and developing alternative sources of energy, but while we do that, we need to extract and use what we have – coal, oil, and natural gas are with us in enormous abundance. Destroying our economy to feed the House of Saud doesn’t get us where we want to go and we can’t say we’ll fall back on energy that can only provide 2% of our needs right now while scrapping sources that provide the other 98%. We have what we need – we just need an administration that allows us to go after it and use it.

      • DaveH

The Free Markets would take care of that peacefully and efficiently. But the Greens just can’t stand it when they can’t force their agendas on the rest of us.

      • pete the simian

        Tony,

I don’t know where you guys get your info ! The fixed cost may be higher – but you better put the solar cells up before the money disappears !

The voters in America don’t want off shore drilling, they want to use up all the Arab oil and the strategic reserve .

You got to be FLEXIBLE ! put up them solar panels – build them yourself and SAVE SAVE SAVE $$$$$$ !!!!!

      • jibbs

I’ve done plenty of reseaech and more research, and calculated how much power I need to operate my home. I’ve looked at wind and solar, even if you build them yourself, the cost out weighs the return. Add in the cost of maintaining/repairing them…..you must have access to free material.

      • always right

actually, simian, the U.S. citizens DO want drilling here at home and offshore and don’t want anymore terrorist oil. 59% in April, 11 supported more offshore drilling. 79% say we’re not doing enough at home to increase our energy supply. 52% say that finding new sources of oil are more important that cutting use. 55% oppose blackbarry’s ban on offshore drilling, including two Federal courts. All numbers are from Rasmussen. Read them and weep, sunshine.

      • pete the simian

        Always Right,

        Let’s be logical ….

If your info was correct why did the American people (voters) elect President Obama and those people in Congress ?

When you get down to the bottom line — the MAJORITY of AMERICANS want alternate energy solutions rather than using fossil fuels …..

Get them solar cells up ! Or pay more for electricity and gas. That’s the conditions – it’s your individual choice right now … ADAPT or GO WITHOUT …

I guess the age of centralized power solutions is being challenge by homegrown power solutions … but the only thing you got to worry about, as an individual, is how are you going to survive.

Just buy them solar cells and solder them together – build your own …. save money …

      • DaveH

If the majority of Americans wanted the Alternate Energies, they would buy them without you Liberals using Government to put a gun to their heads, or taking money from taxpayers to subsidize those Alternate Energies.

      • pete the simian

If what you say is true -then the majority of VOTERS are LIBERAL …

      • always right

so simian, they can rip us off by inflating oil proces and controlling supply, but the reverse isn’t fair? So how are things down at the mosque this week?

      • pete the simian

No one forced you to buy Arab oil ….

Why don’t you go down to the mosque and ask them how things are going, don’t forget to tell them YOU think all Arabs are crooks and thieves .. !!

    • DaveH

Maybe you’re content with swinging through the trees after the Greens impoverish us, Pete, but I’m not. Solar cells are an eyesore. If they were economical maybe some people would put up with the eyesore. But they are far from economical.
For people who seek knowledge, rather than politics:

      • pete the simian

        DaveH,

I’d rather have a FREE energy source using my own SOLAR CELLS and WINDMILL …
Then I’ll save mucho dollars ..

Convert the darn car to electric and plug it in – You need at least two cars – one charges during the day while you use the other ….

Electric Cars – that’s the ticket .. charged by your own solar cells.

      • Average Joe

“Then I’ll save mucho dollars ..”

        If you live long enough….maybe.
I live in Florida and have been looking into alternative energy (solar and wind)for a while now. Most wind generators need at least 6-8 mph wind speed to even start producing electricty and to reach stated output, they need to be running at 12-15 mph and very few places in this country have that kind of constant wind movement (even here in Florida with all of our flat land and sea breezes the average wind speed is around 7-9 mph). Now, running a 1000 watt wind generator at those speeds I can expect to produce approximately 15%-20% of stated output….150 to 200 watts per hour).Next, you must take into consideration Wind and solar panels make DC current which need to be stored in a series of batteries or you must tie them into “the grid”. Now, if you store them in batteries, you will need a converter to change the the current from DC to AC in order to run anything in your home. If you decide to hook up to the grid, you will need a grid tie in kit, proper building permits and hire a licensed electritian to hook it all up and have the power company certify the work before you can even switch it on. Now, considering that A/C and heating units use lots of power (1500 watts plus), water heaters (750 watts plus), Mirowaves (500 watts plus) add to that all of your other appliances, light bulbs etc (even my computer has a 750 watt PSU)…..well, you can see that the offset in power doesn’t amount to a whole lot. Next, solar panels produce about 10% of the power that the wind generators produce (depending on the size of the panel of course). After figuring out what I would need to run my home, a very small home by most standards(Approx. 1000 sq.ft.), I will need 3x 1000 watt wind generators and about 3/4 of an acre of solar panels and at the low,low price of about $30k installed and tied into the grid. Somehow this just not seem cost effective when you consider that I am 55 years old, my home is paid for and I really can’t see taking out a mortgage on the house….when I’ll probably be dead long before I pay off the $30K….plus the interest. You might want to do a bit more research on the feasibility and cost effectiveness of such an undertaking….before you set yourself up for a major disappointment in reality vs. noble endeavor.
As for me, I am going to buy one 1000 watt unit at a time until I have three (over the next two years at a cost of around $7500 [grid tied] ), which should bring my electric bill down by about $40-$50 per month….but I will not even consider the solar panels since they really are not cost effective (pay out vs energy produced).
I just thought that I would pass along my own investigations into alternative energy.

        Average Joe,

        Don’t buy – build !!!

Forget hooking it up to a power grid – get some batteries …..

Take your time soldering all them solar cells together – it’s time consuming work …

      • pete the simian

        Average Joe,

Sell the house and move …

Go shopping for some land where the zoning rules, taxes and permit crap are more lax !
Put a nice low cost Mobile Home and all the solar cells you can build. Get like 5 – 10 acres of land – you could devote an acre to solar cells…..and also raise some pigs and chickens – maybe a large vegetable garden !!!

Hey man … Life is simpler than you think … Voters and politicians make it harder …

      • Average Joe

        pete the simian ,

Why on earth would I sell the house, it’s paid for? Who would I sell it to, nobody is buying?Besides, housing prices are still too inflated in price for me to get someting comparable to what I already own…..and I already own (paid for) 5 pieces of property in 2 states, the largest is 86.5 acres and the smallest is 2.5 acres (with houses on 3 of them them) and I happen to like where I am living right now.
Have you looked at the housing market or the economy lately?Being a Land Surveyor by trade, I am betting that I have a little bit better understanding of the housing market in my area than you do. Besides, I have enough land to put the panels on…but they are not cost effective…..believe it or not…I’ve done my research…as stated above. Thanks for your imput though.

The only thing Free here is your speech, Pete. Did you even read the article I linked to? Some day if the oil and natural gas run out, we may have no choice but to spend more and go with solar power, or wind generators. But right now it’s uneconomical and would send our country further down the road to poverty to force the issue. When that day comes, people would buy those alternative energies willingly without the Force of the Greenies.
By the way, using your logic, driving across country would be Free also, if we could get somebody to buy us the car, the oil, and the gasoline.
This is what one man thinks the Environmental movement is all about, and I agree:

“convert the car to electric”. Ok simian, give me a cost breakdown, a local shop that will do that, the money to do that…oh and, this car needs a 400 mile range @ 70 MPH like my current (no pun intended)vehicles and off-road abilities, as well as the ability to tow a trailer and run an electric winch off of a self-regenerating internal power source, as winches have an enormous electrical draw. I’m in the Victor Valley area of California and will glady take you referral to a local shop, along with your money to do the conversion.

You can explore whatever you want be in reality we have to start drilling. Its been proven over and over again we have plenty of oil right here in America. Why doesn’t this bum let us drill? Tell the damn enviromentalist we are sick of them putting a damned endangered owl or smelt fish above drilling for oil or growing our food! This is outrageous. Right here in California they have stopped farming on some of the richest farm land in America because some a–hole enviromentalist found smelt fish in the water pipes. So now all growing of our food has stopped there. Bet it won’t be long before they use that beautiful rich soil to build houses on for what? More Illegals, more muslims to come here? Palin was right! This article reveals just how much more friendly Obama is to the Islamic nations compared to his own. I seem to remember Obama stating something about his desire to see gas prices reach a level that would be $5, $6, or even $10 a gallon (something like that).

How many more Unconstitutional acts does Obama have to do until Congress says “Enough”! And what about you America? When will we demand “IMPEACHMENT”? America can not afford 4 more years of this Tyrant!!! If you think America just needs to give Obama more time to prove his positions………TIMES UP! FOUR YEARS IS MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME….and frankly, I’m sick and tired of this.

Personally, I would rather never….EVER…see a Democrat or Republican in Congress or the White House ever again!

    • C130 Gunship

Jim…..The reality is we are already paying $10.00 or more a gallon for gas but it isn’t reflected in the pump price. Here’s why I say this; Oil is currently selling right at $100.00 a barrel and after refining sells for approx. $3.50 per gallon for regular depending where you live. However, if you consider that approximately ONE THIRD of our expenditures for the military goes for the safe uninterrupted flow of oil and for the protection of the mid east oil producers, then the real cost per barrel is much closer to $300.00+ per barrel….You’re smart guy, I know you can do the math. So, to sum this up, you pay approximately on third of the ‘true’ cost of oil at the pump, more in your federal income taxes, and the balance via the national debt. Just something I want folks to ponder…….

  • DaveH

“Is Obama acting out of stupidity or is something more sinister going on?”.
No doubt in my mind. It’s the latter.

    • Kara

      Either is scary.

    • http://n/a Anna M

I agree with “sinister”. Have you ever wondered why someone has not started an IMPEACHMENT? And those who made an attempt, have failed to launch it properly? I wonder about it all the time – we certainly have enough reasons and infractions to do so.

      • Kjunme

Obama is not dumb, but is being carefully orchestrated to destroy our county by moneyed interests. he has been groomed for this for a long time now, even before he came here to go to college, (which has no records that anyone knows of). George Soros is behind a lot of it, the richest man in the country, who also has many interests abroad. Read a recent Whistleblower magazine on how many companies, boards, associations he has an interest in. He pays left journalists to sit on his boards so that makes them support him and his causes in the news. He hates America and hates Jews, and is even a Jew himself. If you really want to know what is going on subscribe to the Whisleblower magazine. You will be amazed and shocked at knowing what is really going on. You will never read or hear any of this in any of the main media or on main media news. It is enough to scare your pants off. But so true!!!

    • Ellen

Wasn’t it the Saudi royal family that got Obama into Harvard law school and paid $20 million so he could be editor of their law review? I think there were also fake Columbia credentials purchased at the same time. Obama certainly appears to be working for the Saudis, not the US. Perhaps this will finally be the cause of his impeachment, which is long overdue. As for the question about is he stupid or sinister? I believe he is both.

  • ron

And this has never been done prior to this president? or is it that no matter what he does he has no right to sit in the big chair.Remember the last president was an MBA.

    • Jim

“And this has never been done prior to this president? or is it that no matter what he does he has no right to sit in the big chair.Remember the last president was an MBA.” say ron

It doesn’t matter if any President before Obama did this or not. This kind of misdirection is a waste of time. Stick with the issue!

As to Obamas right to “…sit in the big chair.”…there quite a few reasons for Obama to be impeached! I still doubt his eligibility to have even been nominated…but, again, misdirection from the issue is a typical reaction to anyone who ‘dares’ to say Obama has done something wrong, stupid or unconstitutional!

This brings to mind a quote of Albert Einstein…”Condemnation without investigation is the highest form of ignorance.”

      If the shoe fits…….

      • DanB

“he has no right to sit in the big chair” My answer is yes, he has the right to sit in the big chair.

There are questions of whether he was eligible, but if you are evaluating him based on past accomplishments then I understand why this nation is doomed to repeat history and fall into tyranny. If you are looking for someone highly educated, with a political resume you think exemplifies results in government, then you are looking for a career politician. There are tons of those around. They are also known as Republicans and Democrats, many having served multiple terms in the House or Senate. These accomplished and educated individuals vote for bigger government, lie whenever convenient to hide their agenda (which is why politicians have a reputation of lying whenever they are speaking), and many of them have traveled to foreign countries as representatives of the United States of America. Personally, I think most of their resumes stink something awful and it is a shame that the American people continue to put them back into office year after year. So if that is your qualification, then perhaps President Barack Obama was not enough of a career politician for your tastes before running.

As for being eligible to be president, a janitor is eligible as long as few conditions are met.

        1) Natural born citizen of the United States of America.
        2) Elected to the office of President of the United States or into the chain of command thereof through a Constitutional election process.

There is nothing in the Constitution that says you need to be a college graduate, or even grade school graduate. There is nothing in there that says you need to even pass your classes in school. No IQ minimum. No required wealth. These are all things that our political system has added. And because these litmus tests have been around longer than some of us have lived, we just assume that these are the requirements to be President of the United States of America. Would I prefer that my President graduated high school? Yes. Would I prefer that my President was at least average IQ? Yes. How about a college education? Too many progressives are ivy league graduates. It is as if they were taught how to care for the world but not how to think for themselves. Or, how to steal success but not how to earn or create success.

Now as for Obama and his destruction of our energy sector, I think Obama is brilliant. I think what he is doing is absolutely wrong and will do far more damage to the environment, the economy, and our nation than anyone will admit to. However, Glenn Beck made a point many times of a promise early on by our now President that under his policies “energy prices will necessarily skyrocket.” Looks to me like President Obama is making good on his promises. We just don’t realize it yet. Remember, as pointed out in the article, we have not hit the worst of it. We’ve been through worse without dumping our reserves. So why dump reserves now if it didn’t make a bump in things? Because the end game is probably more important to our current administration. If they condition us to accept this dump of oil reserves now, when the situation deepens because we have halted our own drilling and exploration, won’t we keep dumping our reserves until we have no more and then when prices do indeed “necessarily skyrocket” we will have no recourse at that time. We will be helpless and at the world’s mercy, both on the oil and energy we need as well as militarily (for what do you think the strategic reserves were supposed to be for?).

      • Carole

        DanB,

Yep, I believe you have pretty much hit the nail on the head.
We need to be calling ALL of congress, net just our own reps. and DEMANDING they put a stop to the draining off of our SPR. There can be only one reason Obama is doing this; it is to weaken the country, and our military for the END GAME. Every word out of his mouth is a lie, and every action thus far has NOT BEEN IN THE INTEREST OF AMERICA.

ALSO, we have a complisit CONGRESS. They have let him make them
irrelavent. We need to get rid of more of these PROFESSIONAL POLOTICIANS. We need to get every state demand term limits…ONE (1) TERM. wE ALSO NEED TO ELIMINATE AND MAKE ILLEGAL ALL AND ANY DONATIONS FROM ANY AND ALL BUSINESSES, GROUPS, ORG., ETC. Only the FULL TIME LEGAL RESIDENTS OF EACH STATE MAY DONATE TO THEIR PARTICULAR SENATORS OR REPRESENTATIVES WITH AN ANNUAL TOTAL DONATION LIMIT OF $2500/INDIVIDUAL RESIDENT. That is the ONLY way we have ANY hope of getting representatives and senators that actually WORK FOR THEIR CONSTITUENTS. AND, MAKE LOBBYING OR ACCEPTING ANYTHING FROM A LOBBYIST A FELONY PUNISHABLE BY A MINIMUM OF 15 YRS IN PRISON.

      • P B

Jim, you are correct this idiot does not belong in that “Big Chair” he is to much of an idiotic jerk who is selling out this country and the American people and they are to stupid to see it. I have spoken to people who thinks is doing a wonderful job. But thats from a confirmed democrap, and we all know how they lie. They already have proof he is not a citizen and he admitted the B.C he released is a fake. This guy needs to be impeached and put in jail for the biggest fraud ever pulled on the American people and this country. The democraps were behind this all the way and should be thrown out of congress and the senate. They aren’t going to impeach because they are worried about a black up rising. I say who cares they’re always crying race card anyway, so whats new? NOTHING THATS WHAT!!!

      • clearasabell

Jim…You are correct, let’s stick to the issue. This president has been contriving a plan, with his backers, since before he took office. He has an agenda and it is not to betterment of America. It seems at this point he is just posturing himself for the next election. He is trying to find the one thing that he can use as a platform for that election, because right now he does not look good at all.

    • FreedomFighter

You need to determine logical purpose, rational expectations of action, end result, possible risk and the X factor then you get Y.

Y=weakening of America in an emergency if reserves are not replaced immediatly.

Considering current world events, risk, and the X (xtreme event) factor seem way to high to deplete reserves.

I thought he was aN IDIOT

    • always right

Ron, before this were were allowed to drill our own oil. We had a fall-back position.

Let me lay this out for you: Our oil money is supporting terrorists all over the world; blackbarry’s brother muslims. By depleting our oil reserves, preventing new drilling and the Canadian pipeline, he sets us up to get SLAMMED by OPEC once the draw-down is complete, breaking the back of what is left of the U.S. economy. Further, it will pull the wheels and wings off the U.S. military abroad, leaving our troops stranded and sitting ducks for the tangos we’re supporting with our oil money. With the military stranded abroad, they can be disassembled piecemeal over time by the 0-bomb’s buddies as they will, in effect, have been abandoned by their supply line, like the German army at the Cauldron in Stalingrad, where 290,000 perished. Except this will be several “Cauldrons” at the same time, widely separated by distance from each other and an ocean away for the defenders and in the back yards of the agressors, who have the money, weapons and oil that barry, the CFR and the muslim brotherhood made sure that we purchased for them, right at their fingertips. With no economy, no military to speak of (since so much of our materiel is supporting bammy’s wars abroad, 5 of which are in support of upstart muslim Juntas), we’ll then be ready for the non-negotiable offer by the one-world caliphate, which bo n’ de ho, along with hildebeest, will immediately agree to. Done deal. The U.S. dies with a whimper, not a roar, as the what was once the world’s finest military grinds to a halt, goes to ground, then goes feral overseas. Fait accompli. This will leave Israel alone in the middle east to get whacked by iran’s or pakistan’s, or “whoever”‘s nukes.

      • Wayne A.

You are so right! The first thing you want to do in war or anything conflict is to break the supply line, namely the fuel. Cut the fuel line and the troops don’t move.

    • JonKemp

I find it alarming that Obama has insisted on using strategic reserves while simultaneously allowing only foreign companies to drill. The US is a hard country to bring down but Obama seems to be making every effort to make that happen. More worrisome are those with blind allegiance to Obama who use racism and other excuses to encourage his overt and systematic destruction of our country.

      • Eddie G.

Agree with your position John,Oboy is a paid wrecking ball via George Soros,a diehard Hungarian Marxist Communist. Too bad the average voter is too stupid to intelligently vote. Oboy went Hollywood glamour as a campaign and it amazes me how people really thought he was going to pay off their mortgage and car payments so they could pay off their maxed out credit cards and go play again. They seriously thought that is what he meant by “change”! Add to that you see members of congress who’ve been around since Genesis. The stupids keep voting the same old senility back in and all are so corrupt they forgot when’s the last time they made an honest dollar. The people meanwhile believe everything the media tells them such as Sarah Palin is divorcing Todd and opening a Chicken Ranch in Searchlight,Nevada and upon retirement will give Harry Reid a job as the piano player. 2012 is going to be an interesting year with no economic improvement from the administration and Senator Mitch “Pontius Pilate Kiss Oboy’s Ass” McConnell leading the way.

      • SiliconDoc

Hey at least he gave billions to Brazil so they could help out communazi lib bud open borders Sorros’ investment and drill the “does not exist in peak oil world” gigantic new oil find.

Yep, the libs, nimby *******s who make certain all the dirt they supposedly oppose happens in their own secret hideaways (abortion clinics), or they pay out billions of our tax dollars to other nations to do it (abortion and oil drilling) while making it ILLEGAL for the US CITIZENS to provide for themselves.

This is the insane lib welfare ideology extended worldwide and a master communist administration is running it. It’s like they’re the USSR except a “capitalist” regime supporting all sorts of commies and muzzie islamists because they want to play the big shot “fair ruler”, “get humble”, and get stomped into the dirt, so the new age interpretation of marzist collapse of capitalism before the new world workers commie utopia “brings endless supply and lack of want to all”. Another race card player who refuses to look objectively at the president’s inept or international actions that harm Americas. So you simply attempt to justify his actions by accusing those pointing out his actions by simply implying they are racist. You are the worst type of hypocrite.

      • JonKemp

Huh? You sure are touchy! I simply said that Obama loyalists refuse to see Obama’s obvious undermining of the US because they accuse those who question his actions are racist.

If you think about what this president has done you would come to the conclusion that his goal is to destroy capitalism as we know it. Spend away all reserves and leave the American citizen with government dependence as a last resort. Karl Marx would be proud.

      • SiliconDoc

Well that’s exactly it. I’ve talked to students and they get marxism crammed down their throats and believe the doctrine that the collapse of capitalism will produce utopia for all.
I’d just like to see someone ask these wackadoos in front of those they’ve indoctrinated what the heck they think will produce everything everyone needs when they finally crush capitalism, and no longer have the luxury of riding on it’s back and suckling every last drop of milk they can from all the teats.
I just can’t quite fathom what their coup scenario fallout entails.
Perhaps a daily job card report to the O-Central Czarbama paymaster, with returned directives for the next days people’s production and maybe a food ration 2 pieces fruit bonus and a half gallon carbon gas credit permit if quotas were met and exceeded.

    • Steve

Yes, President Bush is an MBA. He also did not spend almost 3 Trillion dollars in 2 1/2 years, try to destroy the best health care system in the world, ruin our economy with idiotic, pointless, spending on bailouts, or dither, waffle, and make us look ridiculous throughout the world.

Left-wing liberalism is as dead as week-old road kill and it smells just as bad. Those who back obama and his socialism are equally as brain dead and foolish.
