Ben doesn’t really have to concern himself with “the damage done by modern-day higher education.” In his case, the learning didn’t take.

I see we have had our 1/5 of lib kool aid today. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

    • http://Moreexpensive,moreunknowproblems. Lewis Munn

A greater solution might be to have a test on ethics, and there be a limitation on personal wealth.

I suggest that Government Officials be paid the average of what all those under their jurisdiction get in salary or reported wages. No expense accounts!

I wonder if top government folks who now get huge salaries and expense allowances are not getting a “king syndrome” and feel they rule, not serve.

      • Rick

I think I have a better idea. No pay or retirement for congress at all. Instead pay their existing employer for their absence from work for a maximum 3 months every other year. Be sure to throw in term limits too. The last thing we need is career politicians.

  • Carlucci

I posted this link yesterday, but in the event some may have missed it, here it is again:

    http://www.sovereignman.com/

How about we vote these relentless parasites (a.k.a. democraps and repulsivecans) out of office?

    • Gayle

Thanks Carlucci, I joined. I have been receiving International Living for the past several years and this is more informative and helpful. I’ve seriously thought about abandoning USA, but at the same time you folks on the right side keep me sane, as I love this Country and what it is suppose to stand for. Running to something instead of running from is more comforting. Lots of these people don’t get NWO means everywhere. Stand and fight! Thanks again.

  • EltonJ

Politics in this country has run totally rampant.

  • DISPENSER

I would like to see all business taxes repealed. A business, or corporation does not pay taxes. The taxes are simply passed along to comsumers, making yet another hidden tax that we all pay. If everyone was aware of all the taxes they have to pay, more pressure to lower taxes would be put on the politicians.

    • Blueshoes

      Dispenser,

You ARE right but it’s difficult for Democrats to wrap their heads around that because of their ignorance. I’m saying Democrats because most “working class” are Democrats. The fact that ANYONE who has a job of any kind, in my opinion, should be considered the working class, as opposed to those on welfare or who do “manual” labor.

I constantly listen to talk radio, every day and have learned a lot. A woman called in one time who said her grandmother, who was 82 years old, always voted for the Democrat candidate all her life. When the granddaughter asked why, it was because she didn’t know she could actually vote for a candidate of another party. I’m sure this woman is not the only one that believes that and votes that way for the same reason.

    • Wayne937

Dispenser, your exactly right. Some folks cannot see this for some reason. The dick heads in Washington D.C. hope you are too dumb to see it. It’s just another way to rip you off twice so Congress Members can send more of your money to their own state buying themselves more votes. I am beginning to think that most voters are too dumb to vote. I just saw where the United Nations want 73,000,000,000,000. I hope you realize that 20 percent of this will come from the taxpayers pockets over the years. I also heard this AM, that Obama, (though HUD) had just given Acorn (they have a new name now around $80,000. Acorn was the organization that helped put this idiot Obama in the White House.

May I add that when the government creates jobs as though they were a business, they have the ultimate advantage of not paying taxes and are at a competitive advantage to privately owned businesses.
The real remedy is to privatize all government businesses including the Postal Service, and make them and all business tax exempt. Revenue would be generated at the consumer level as well as personal income taxes.

In addition, impose a personal flat tax with no deductions permitted. This,in itself, should generate untold billions in revenue and make it easy for the taxpayer to file a return with little effort.

There are videos explaining what it is and how it would boost our economy and also rid us of ALL types of Income Taxes (and thousands of pages of Tax Code). Just think, you would no longer have to “Do Your Taxes!”, come April 15th. It would be “Just another day”.

Excuse me, It’s way to early on a Saturday morning to listen to an Obama freak! This country needs to get back to the founding fathers principal ideas that this country “WAS” founded on God and Jesus Christ. All of our current problems stend from the fact that the people of the USA have totally gotten away from the blessings of God. Our founding fathers would just roll over in their graves if they knew what was up in the good old USA. I urge every one of you people here, to read Original Intent buy David Barton. You will see how far we have gotten away from God in the first few pages. People, this is not what our founding fathers fought and died for!
Phillipians 4:13 says it all; I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
God will not bless this nation, untill this nation starts blessing and praising His name! Just think about who we have running this great country of ours. Barney Frank, Charlie Rangle, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Barrack Hussein Obama and thank my God and savior Jesus Christ that Mr Weiner left DC on his weinermobile. Thank you also “Glenn Beck” for your tireless work on waking up the patriots in this country.
    Charles

    • Bluebird1995

Progressives have been trying to train us and our kids to accept this kind of Government for the last 70 years. Thank God that quite a few of us were too stuborn to listen.
The only teachers in public schools and colleges that are allowed to stay long enough to get tenure are the ones that toe the progressive party line, and kiss the Union’s behind. We need a National Right To Work Law. Then if an employee doesn’t want to be in a union, they wont lose their job.
The polititians should remember that they work for us, we don’t work for them. As for term limits, we need to remove the lifetime retirement packages from their contracts first, then we can enact term limits.

      • Don

Spot on Blurbird, you are so right !!

  • Bigred43

Ben Crystal you are a Hoot! Keep up the good work, love your prospective of politics.

  • Travis Wise

For those of you who want a detailed explanation of what is happening in this country. Please read The Burden of bad ideas.
by Heather Macdonald. You will come away with a new apppreciation of how we got where we are. More government is not the solution but the problem.

  • Jack

Solution Those who don’t pay taxes and or receive welfare lose the privilege to vote.

    • BruMan

Kind of like that idea, no horse in the race, sit in the stands and watch until you can get back on a horse

    • Blueshoes

      Jack,

I’m in perfect agreement with you but also add this. Anyone who works for the government in any capacity and is paid by the Tax Payers, should lose the privilege of voting because they would (as they do right now) vote for more benefits (welfare, pensions, unions and union dues, vacation pay, etc.) and especially the politicians which, according to the Constitution, should NOT be getting anything more or better than the tax payer (US Citizen, their “boss”).

      • Shibamom

Your suggestion is a bit silly. Not everyone who works for the Gov’t
votes the way you believe they do. I work for the Dept of the Navy
& I care more about the health, security & uniqueness of this wonderful
country than the things you described. Don’t get me wrong, like anyone
else, I too have to look out for my retirement & health care but I won’t
sacrifice my freedoms or anyone else’s to get it. I work with a lot of
very intelligent, patriotic people who actually think about their votes.
Many of them are very unhappy with Obama & the complete sham
he & his minions have made of our sweet land. Why would anyone
Advocate excluding tax paying citizens just because they work for the Gov’t? Kind of silly when think about it eh?

    • Bluebird1995

I agree. If you are not supporting yourself, you should not be able to vote.

      • Jim Cumber

There are some of us who have worked and paid taxes for over 40 years until struck down by ill health, and forced to apply for Social Security Disability, so we are living on money we’ve been paying into “the system” for DECADES! The proposals for this new “poll tax” seems to leave such “unfortunates” OUT OF THE GAME, despite the fact that some are “Iron Rod Constitutionalists”! The “Poll Tax” idea requires some modification to make it truly “fair”…

      • Blueshoes

        Jim,

The last word you used in your post was “Fair”. Do you know anything about the “FairTax”?

If we can get it instituted, it would abolish a slew of taxes and simplify the way EVERYONE is taxed. Check it out. There are videos explaining it at this site:

        http://www.fairtax.org/site/PageServer

As for receiving Social Security, that is NOT working for the government. If you worked, you were forced to “contribute” (that’s the government’s word {and I don’t mean the citizens of this great country but those who WE put in power to run it}) to Social Security. Therefor, you are entitled to receive it (although there is no guarantee by Washington) and not being allowed to vote does not apply in this regard. AND, if the FairTax were enacted, Social Security would be funded through it and would end the solvency issue.

      • Shibamom

Oh by the way…as a Dept of Navy employee, I am subjected to & made
To pay all Federal, State & locL taxes just like everyone else.
Where the hell do you all get off on saying Gov’t workers don’t support
themselves? Plus…I don’t have any power or any avenue to protest
When the president declares a pay & hiring freeze which he has done.
We are currently under a 2 yr pay freeze which will most likely be
extended to 5 yrs & Lord knows when the hiring freeze will be lifted.
So that leaves the rest of us to pick up the slack all the while knowing
there will be no cost of living raise or anything else. But I choose to
not be bitter cause at least I have a job. Don’t put all Gov’t workers in the same category. We’re not all alike in our morals, values, faith or integrity!

      • Blueshoes

        My my Shibamom,

It started out that I was a bit silly to suggest all government employees not be given the right to vote but never said that you, as working for the Navy, should not get what pay increases were deemed fair. But you, in the next breath (your next post), start belly-aching about not getting Cost-Of-Living raises. Individuals who work in the private sector are NOT guaranteed by their individual employers, a Cost-Of-Living raise but you think YOU, as a “GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE”, do. I rest my case.

      • http://naver samurai

I think Bluebird was talking about people who receive welfare checks and don’t try to work or find a job. Don’t read to deeply into a post. This will save you embarrassment. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

    • jibbs

Very well said Jack, yes, yes, yes……..HIGH FIVE!!!

    • Wayne937

Jack, if you took those people away from the voting booth Obama would never have been voted in as the president in the first place.

There are two kinds of liberals:

    1. Those who lead the mob with their evil propaganda that engenders an emotional response from their Coolaid drinking followers.

    2. The Coolaid drinking mob who lack the common sense to realize they are being used and driven by their emotion do the bidding of their evil leaders.

Most of the these followers have a heart but lack the common sense to realize that it is in the wrong place, I think NT1938 is in the second group.

  • GenEarly

Thanks Nit Wit 1938, All this time I had thought NAZI’s were National Socialists!
A further understanding of the meaning of the “ONE” Obama might reveal the unification of Progressive Socialists Communists and Islam (with additional Nit Wits as the obligatory “useful idiots’)

Polls show that a majority of Americans say that both the Republicans and Democrats are doing such a poor job representing the people that a new, third party is needed.

I’ve repeatedly warned that there is a scripted, psuedo-war between Dems and Repubs, liberals and conservatives which is in reality a false divide-and-conquer dog-and-pony show created by the powers that be to keep the American people divided and distracted. See this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this and this.

In fact, the Founding Fathers warned us about the threat from a two party system.

    John Adams said:
There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution.

George Washington agreed, saying in his farewell presidential speech:
The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries, which result, gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of Public Liberty

Without looking forward to an extremity of this kind, (which nevertheless ought not to be entirely out of sight,) the common and continual mischiefs of the spirit of party are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to discourage and restrain it.

It serves always to distract the Public Councils, and enfeeble the Public Administration. It agitates the Community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms; kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which find a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions. Thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another.

There is an opinion, that parties in free countries are useful checks upon the administration of the Government, and serve to keep alive the spirit of Liberty. This within certain limits is probably true; and in Governments of a Monarchical cast, Patriotism may look with indulgence, if not with favor, upon the spirit of party. But in those of the popular character, in Governments purely elective, it is a spirit not to be encouraged. From their natural tendency, it is certain there will always be enough of that spirit for every salutary purpose. And, there being constant danger of excess, the effort ought to be, by force of public opinion, to mitigate and assuage it. A fire not to be quenched, it demands a uniform vigilance to prevent its bursting into a flame, lest, instead of warming, it should consume.

WOW! What a jolt of spit this early (CST) in the morning, NT1938! By the way, what does IT MEAN? Just curious, not that it has anything to do with anything. Where were you conceived? Actually, I got a good belly laugh which is great for the physique. BUT, on the other hand, are you posing to get us jump started this morning? Well, anyway, consider this: ALL OF CONGRESS, THE FED, BO & HIS MOB are putting on a grand play for we poor, poor citizens!!! Can anyone guess at the last ACT coming up?

NT1938, Your rant about Republicans and taxes is incorrect. Our biggest problem is our ‘anti poverty’ programs. Initially, they caused trickle up poverty, but we’ve progressed to gushing up poverty. 40% of all babies born each year in the US are born into Medicaid/poverty. Why? Because our welfare laws encourage and enable that. The upper middle class is labeled wealthy by our foolish president who keeps proclaiming that people who make $200,000 per year are millionaires and billionaires. I’d like to say that is the most moronic thing he has said, but he has said so many moronic things it’s too hard to pick the most ridiculous. Forget complaining about taxes because the ‘rich’ already pay far more than their fair share and the govt always spends far more than they collect. Further, 50% of ‘taxpayers’ don’t pay taxes at all. You can’t run a society where most people don’t pay at all and, instead, collect from the govt. We need to drastically cut govt spending and we need welfare reform to limit welfare immediately. We don’t need tax increases.

    • http://Moreexpensive,moreunknowproblems. Lewis Munn

Amen. We need more real common sense in Washington. We are starting to get it in the state capitals.

    • moonbeam

we also need to stop illegals from all over the world coming here and collecting an SSI check. Case in point:

My sister’s husband’s brother came here from Jamaica, worked 4 1/2 years and now gets a check for $650/month for his “bad back”. He is not a citizen of the USA. He has received more than he has put in.

      Here’s another:

A man brought his mom here from the Ukraine. She did her 3 years residency and became a citizen. She gets a check every month from a fund she put nothing into simply because she is of retirement age.

This is just some of the crap that needs to stop. People can come here from any country in the world and get a check, courtesy of the US Taxpayer.

I personally know of a person (US born) who gets a check for being bipolar schizophrenic. Has said right in front of me “Everyday is a play day for me.” Spends all day drinking beer and smoking weed, has about 5 free cell phones gotten from various programs, gets food stamps, which she sells. Her live-in boyfriend gets food stamps too. Gaming the system like you wouldn’t believe.

As for me? I have to work my rear end off to support all of the above. I could use some free services myself, but get told “NO, Not eligible.”

I have considered changing my last name to Gonzolez or maybe Ramirez and having about 10 babies so I can get food stamps, medical care and a CHECK! Seems the way to go these days and appears to be quite profitable.

My fellow Americans, this is your tax dollars at work and why there will be nothing left when you retire! Oh, my bad. I forgot. The gov’t wants you to work until you are 70 and walking bent over to pay for all the illegals who come here and get a check right off the freaking bat.

      • CJM

Honest, hard-working seniors who paid into the system (SS and Medicare) their entire working lives do NOT qualify for many of the programs that young folks get. A senior citizen receiving $900 (and less) in social security can receive no more than $10/month food stamps or doesn’t qualify at all. My mother was told she had to apply every month for the grand total of $10 in food stamps; her income was $800/month. And did you know that a senior who is still paying on a mortgage CANNOT make interest deductions on their tax return because social security benefits “do not represent an income” according to the IRS? That if a senior citizen needs State welfare assistance, they literally have to sign their property over to the State in order to receive anything? And if they have any savings, those savings must be reduced to the magic number of $5,000 (which must be designated as burial funds) to ‘qualify’ for welfare assistance? Yet an illegal alien or a citizen who never worked a day in their life gets it all. Some government, huh.

      • Void1972

I was just informed tonight, by a Homeland security agent, that for the past two years, we the tax payer have been taking care of tens of thousands of Indian, Chinese and Spanish women in their last term of pregnancy. They fly here in their final month and get the finest hospital care in the world, at our expense. I also understand The child is now a US citizen and receives $1500 in social security check every month when they return home. If anyone has any info on this matter, please let me know about it. Thank you.

    • http://Moreexpensive,moreunknowproblems. Lewis Munn

      Amen, James!

Ever I get to make comments!!

  • Nunchuck

    @NT1938:
First where to start…perhaps on your inability to spell “Nazi” correctly, which caused me to summarily dismiss practically everything you said. It’s obvious that you are completely clueless about global economics and the fact that here in the 21st century, there is a global economy and competition for goods and services exists at the global level.

Yes, let’s go ahead and tax the big businesses out of existence so that unemployment reaches 50, say 75 or maybe even 80%. Real Smart. I suppose that you are blissfully unaware that foreign countries don’t charge businesses that will be creating jobs in their countries any tax at all? I thought not. In case you are wondering about the mass exodus of jobs/businesses from THIS country, it could be that our 35% tax rate on corporations is pretty burdensome, onerous, and automatically places a business at a competitive disadvantage before they produce their first product.

But…please…don’t let me interfere with your perfectly good rant with boring old facts, now. I mean, you’ve got quite a head of steam built up there. But alas, what is steam except condensation and hot air?

    • Bear

Nunchuck, Thank you for confirmation of my thoughts.

    • texastwin827

Nunchuck, I disagree two of your comments, even though you are close.

“here in the 21st century, there is a global economy and competition for goods and services exists at the global level.”

“In case you are wondering about the mass exodus of jobs/businesses from THIS country, it could be that our 35% tax rate on corporations is pretty burdensome, onerous, and automatically places a business at a competitive disadvantage before they produce their first product.”

WE have NO global economy…foreign countries, thanks to the US, have a “global” economy. For too long, companies have been allowed to export jobs, with no consideration to what it is doing to Americans and our economy. This so called “Global Economy” has ONE GOAL. To destroy all middle classes in any country fortunate to have one!

Those workers in 3rd world are so thankful that they actually have a paycheck (albeit a small one..but better than zero) they aren’t going to “buck the system”, making them easy to control. The ultimate goal, is to do the same thing to the middle class, here in the US, thus making us “easier to control. The old adage “you don’t bite the hand that feeds you” comes to mind.

The middle class in America is being destroyed by 1) exportation of jobs (that Amercians CAN & WILL do) and 2) allowing illegals (from every country but primarily Mexico) to come in, without fear of being deported, because they drive down the wages in the fields that Americans work in…like construction, meat packing, etc.

Anyone who believes they only “take the jobs Americans won’t do”, like busboys, maids,ag workers, isn’t living in reality. Drive by any construction job, here in Texas….the majority of the workers will be Mexican and I can promise you, the most, if not all of them, are illegals. At best, the Foreman MIGHT be a Mexican American (because he speaks both English & Spanish) but he also MIGHT be an illegal who has grown up here (like the one we just executed) because he & his family has been here, undisturbed, for several decades.

NT1938…you need a reality check! BOTH parties are destroying this country, not just one! They all have the same agenda. The only difference in them, is simply which group of people they attempt to influence, to gain their power from.

      • 50s cars

The greatest reason jobs actually leave the USA is the Hassle factor. The EPA, the EEOC, ADA, just to name but a very few. the 35% tax on profits is just the straw that tips the scale. Average corporate profits, including oil companies, is about 4% of sales, so 35% of 4% is 1.4% of revenue. However, in addition to the Feds, the local taxation and rules are enough to drive a business owner or manager out of his mind, so when someone offers a way to avoid the regulatory crap that actually does take up his time, he takes the offer. The USA is still the largest manufacturing country in the world. I don’t know what we make, because you don’t find much of it at Walmart, but the dollar value of manufactured goods in this country is actually a larger percent of GDP than it was in 1950. True, manufacturing employement numbers have decreased, but that is called “PRODUCTIVITY”, no shipping jobs overseas.

OPEN YOUR EYES: THERE IS A NATZI ATTEMPT TO TAKE OVER
The Republican Party and the Tea Party are pulling a Natzi 1932 take over of the government. They do not want the wealthy to have to pay their fair share for their raiding of taxes revenue under the Bush Administration. They do not want the courts to enforce Fiduciary laws that were used in 1919 to force Ford Motor company to distribute excess retained earnings to the stockholders. They want the large companies to continue to hoard earnings increase prices under the guise of increased costs not taken place, and the continued over payment of executives of large corporations. The judges do not want to have to withdraw from fiduciary lawsuits, because they received inside information and it will be pointed out to them.
Are the Republicans going to continue to talk BIG and cover up their support of burning the national Houses of Congress, as the Natzi did to control the German national government. Are they going to use the poor facists minorities to rob and kill the public to be able to survive with no jobs. Are they going use their fascist followers to support the attempted conviction of a citizen without enough evidence and due process of law. In the present political situation, it is amazing that a jury refused to convict a person without enough evidence. Most foreign immigrants would have convicted without enough evidence and followed the government lawyers due toi their lack undedrstanding of a democratic system of laws. The government agencies (i.e., United States Postal Service) are hiring foreign immigrants because management can abuse them in the workplace without being charged with abussive management practices. This has been the situation in China when foreign companies use Chinese bosses to force more production from workers without pay.
    WAKE UP
DEMAND THAT THE TOP COMPANIES AND THEIR TOP MANAGERS PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE OF TAXES TO COVER THEIR PAST ABUSES. THE PAYING REPRESENTATIVE IN STATE LEGISLATURES TO GIVE THEM SPECIAL TAX DEALS, WHEN IT IS OPENLY KNOWN TO THE PRESS AND NOT REPORTED SHOULD NOT BE TOLLERATED. ARE THESE FASCISTS REALLY GOING TO PRODUCE A RECOVERY OF DEMOCRACY.

I find those that judge persons thoughts by spelling are usually sheep in thought, so I generally don’t do that. Even if it was to avoid some census on politically correct wording. I don’t buy into the 2 party system as the majority are like 2 sports teams who serve the same masters giving the illusion (and not very well, I might add) that there is a difference. So I will do away with the party bashing and continue on with an old idea, get rid of any unconstitutional laws, including the IRS and Federal Reserve. Get back to state power, cut back the politicians to serving the people and being above the rest of us. So much waste including this life time pension.

Spelling is not the most important thing in the world; however, really bad spelling generally shows a lack of education, and with all the schooling available, should be rare. Plus I look up spellings I am uncertain of in a nice fat dictionary that cost me just a few dollars in a used bookstore.

Lack of education coupled with poor spelling makes it hard to follow ideas and understand them, at both ends of the dialog.

That aside, your system sounds like lawlessness, unless I missed something. Local authorities make up laws as they go along, and the country as a whole has no commonality or even day-to-day consistency. Which, it seems to me, leads to fragmentation and other nations and groups gobbling America up piecemeal, taking over all the good parts.

Can you explain how we can have a coherent country when we all worship differing political gods? Hard enough with two parties taking potshots at each other and at a new rival, and making contradictory claims, mostly unsupported when checked thoroughly.

But your idea, I fear, leads to Balkanization, and enemies picking off all the good parts. Or did you manage to conceal your real practical proposal from my limited comprehension? Maybe try again?

      • Fred

You are far to intellectual for anyone to slip something past your enormous comprehension.

      • Vic

Lee, multi-party system is worse many times over. Consider this, you have two (or more) major party representations, not one large enough to constitute a majority. The rest of the seats belong to small and largely unpopular parties. Then, one of the major parties have to make a coalition with one or more small parties to have a said majority. Now small party present it’s demands to agree to enter the coalition and soon the agenda of this (again, small and unpopular) party goes into life in total disproportion with respect to the number of it’s voters.

Imagine USA adopted multi-party system. Do you want (for example) moslem party to impose sharia as a price to enter into coalition with demorats? Or the amish party making everyone observe amish rules?

      • ELLEN THURMOND

Lee makes excellent points, to which I would like to add—have tort reform, our laws are made for lawyers by lawyers this is never happen as long as we keep electing the same old lawyers.

First of all, the only attempt at a Nazi style takeover is by liberal politicians like our President and his czars and his union thugs. That comes much closer to what you attribute to Republicans. As for Tea Party, that is not a political party at all, simply Americans that see what is really happening in our country. There is no hope for people like yourself, you would no doubt be happier in the old Soviet Union.

The two party system in general is bad. It is so manipulated that we are not free to have all candidates running for an office on the ballot. We only get the hand picked ones from each party. The Democratic party is more “rigged” than the Republic party is because the Democrats go ahead and let the Super Delegates pick the candidate if they don’t like what comes out of caucuses and primaries.

      • Bear

Good points Xmarine, The only Nazis I see here in any arena is George Soros and his hand picks, which include the Clintons as well as the Obamas. Look at Soros’ history. Being a Jew himself, he changed his name from Schwartz to Soros to try to assimilate into a Christian society to escape the Nazi’s wrath and possible death. He then managed to meld into the Nazi movement where he actually helped the Nazis confiscate all property form the Jews and helped to put them into the concentration camps where they eventually were murdered. Why the hell wasn’t he on the list the Jews were hunting down for war crimes? He certainly does qualify.

You are now free to insert your foot!
This letter makes it public knowledge that at the end of June 1968 — 4 months before GCA ’68 was enacted — Senator Thomas J. Dodd, now deceased, personally owned a copy of the original German text of the Nazi Weapons Law.
If you want to compare political partys to Nazi’s, why did Sen. Thomas Dodd model the 1968 gun control act after the 1938 Nazi Weapons Law??

For someone of your age, I would have thought you would be smarter and not say such stupid things. You just proved that “older” doe’s not mean smarter.
      ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Why did Dodd own the original German text of any Nazi law? Why did he make known that he owned it?

The Library of Congress then had (and still has) the ’Reichsgesetzblatt’ in its collection. The Library of Congress translator, Dr. Solyom-Fekete, could easily have used the Library of Congress’ own copy.

Any member of Congress who wanted to read the Nazi Weapons Law need only have asked for it to be produced from the shelves of the Library of Congress and for it to be translated by Library of Congress experts. Why should any member of Congress ever have owned the original German text of the Nazi Weapons Law?

Without access to Tom Dodd’s personal papers, archived under his heirs’ control, we unfortunately cannot offer definite answers.

Dodd could have acquired the German text of the Nazi Weapons Law during his time at Nuremberg. But he had no need to do so.

Dodd did not personally handle the prosecution of Nazi Interior Minister Wilhelm Frick, who signed the Nazi Weapons Law. The case against Frick was presented by Robert M.W. Kempner, Assistant Trial Counsel for the United States (see ’Trial of the Major War Criminals before the International Military Tribunal,’ cited as TMWC, Vol. V, pp. 352-67, Nuremberg, Germany, 1947).

Nor should the Nazi Weapons Law otherwise have come to Dodd’s attention. The Nazi Weapons Law was not used as evidence against Frick (see Kempner’s speech, TMWC, V, pp. 352-67 and ‘Index of Laws, Decrees, Orders, Directives, and the Administration of Justice in Nazi Germany and Nazi Dominated Countries’, TMWC, Vol. XXIII, pp. 430-33). The Nazi Weapons Law is not listed among documents submitted as evidence to the Tribunal by the American prosecutors (see Vol. XXIV, pp. 98-169).

The prosecutors at Nuremberg doubtless knew of the Nazi Weapons Law. They probably saw it in the ’Reichsgesetzblatt.’ On the same day that Nazi Interior Minister Frick signed the Weapons Law, March 18, 1938, he signed another law governing security measures in newly annexed Austria. This law concerning Austria appeared in the ‘Reichsgesetzblatt’ — directly in front of the Weapons Law — and was introduced into evidence at Nuremberg (’Reichsgesetzblatt’ 1938, I, p. 262; the Nazi Weapons Law was published in the same volume, p. 265; see TMWC, Vol. V, p.358 for reference to law concerning Austria).

Thus, the Nazi Weapons Law appeared to have no historical merit at Nuremberg and should not have attracted anyone’s notice, certainly not to the extent of causing anyone to want to keep a copy of it as a separate document.

If Dodd got his copy of the original German text of the Nazi Weapons Law during his time at Nuremberg, it likely was part of a collection of documents, for example, issues of the ’Reichsgesetzblatt’.

But if he acquired the original German text of the Nazi Weapons Law after his service at Nuremberg, he must have done so for a very specific reason. The Nazi Weapons Law plainly did not figure at Nuremberg.

We may safely conclude it had little, if any, interest for those interested in the history of the Nazis’ rise to power. For example, the Nazi Weapons Law is not mentioned at all in William L. Shirer’s very thorough study of Nazi Germany, ’The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich’ (Simon and Schuster, New York, 1950).

At the hearings held by Dodd’s subcommittee at the end of June 1968, Rep. Dingell had objected to the firearms registration provision then being discussed. Dodd may have offered his copy of the Nazi Weapons Law to show that the specific proposal did not resemble anything in the Nazi law.

He may not have realized that he was revealing a broader truth; that the whole fabric of GCA ’68 was based on the Nazi Weapons Law, even if the specific registration proposal was not so based.

Alternatively, Dodd may not have cared whether or not anyone knew that he had the German text of the Nazi Weapons Law. He doubtless knew that months would pass before the hearing record was printed and so generally available for scrutiny. Thus, even if anyone then noticed the parallels between the two laws, the bill would already have become law.

Rep. Dingell does not appear to have pursued the matter: the firearms registration provision was not included in GCA ’68. The Congress was stampeded on “gun control” by public enthusiasm. Martin Luther King had been murdered on April 4, 1968, and Robert F. Kennedy had been murdered on June 6, 1968.

We are not the first to have seen this hearing record. But we appear to be the first to have recognized its importance. This hearing record suggests strongly that the late Senator Thomas J. Dodd (D-CT) himself implanted the Nazi Weapons Law into American law, or, at very least, helped others to do so.

Now you know the ugly truth about the roots of GCA ’68. But you need to see — with your own eyes — the hard evidence of the Nazi roots of “gun control” in America presented in “Gun Control”: Gateway to Tyranny.

If you want to destroy “gun control”, you can use this book to do it.

The Nazi Weapons Law of March 18, 1938, cleared the way for World War II and Nazi genocide against the Jews, Gypsies and 7,000,000 other people.

I am sorry that you are so misinformed about the government, and how it was supposed to work. There is no such thing as a fair share in taxes. If you enjoy paying taxes, please continue to do so. I have a different belief. Unlike you, I have fought the concept of big government, which can only be continued by high taxes. The government produces nothing, it operates in the red, it costs money, and it trys to control the lives of individuals. That is Europe’s way, and the reason our founding fathers left, and wrote the constitution the way they did. The only facist in this equation are Liberals who want a nanny state. Please gather your belongings and move to a country where you can be looked after, and leave the individual thinkers alone so we can shrink the size of government, and rebuild a great nation.

If another republican is elected, Americas demise will be slower then another 4 years of the obama, but will still end the same way.
Ron Paul is Americas only hope, but without the support of congress, his term would also be futile.

Then and only then will humans be free.

      You’re obviously very confused.
Justice dictates that taxation is immoral for all classes.
User fees imposed on various products and services in amounts sufficient to maintain a Justice System, Civil Police Force, a Military to defend the borders and a Constitutionally Limited Government.
In this way we have what we need for basic infrastructure and everyone is free to choose which services they will use, and pays equally.

Liberalism and Neo-Conservatism are enemies of the American way.
Both are based on Communism and are leading us like lambs to slaughter towards…”Globalism”.

End the Fed and Restore the Republic.

Pleeeze don’t be stupid. The massive Fed Gifts to the Chrysler and GM mismanagers were only to save the UAW contracts-in-place. If the “companies” would have gone down when they should have due to crappy management,ALL those contracts would have been up for review. What do you think would have been the outcome? Everyone saying that they need MORE money for turning a nut? Or just for being standing there? The outrage by the public would have been LOUUUD and rightly so!How much smarts does it take to turn a nut until a torque wrench goes “click.” You can buy your own torque wrench for the price of a case of beer.

I consider myself to be a Constitutional Conservative who is VERY concerned with the direction our country has moved since Wilson’s presidency, with each administration (Republican & Democrat) moving us further & further away from our Constitution & the freedoms enumerated in the Bill of Rights.

It is for these reasons that I became a Tea Party participant who votes as an Independent (I’m ashamed to say I naively voted for Carter and proud to say I voted for Reagan. I even voted for Perot, W, & Baldwin.) That you would say, “The Republican Party and the Tea Party are pulling a Natzi 1932 take over of the government”, while giving the Dems a pass, I find totally ignorant & inflammatory. Shame on you!
