Obama's 2nd Amendment Assault

Senator Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) continues to peel back the layers of the U.S. inJustice Department’s conspiracy to send arms to Mexican drug dealers and use those gun sales as a pretext to impose stricter gun laws on the American people.

Grassley has told news agencies that high-ranking Justice Department officials were briefed on Operation Fast and Furious and Operation Gunrunner as early as October 2009. The two operations led to about 2,000 weapons crossing the border while agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives watched.

The operation came to light after ATF agent John Dodson blew the whistle following the death of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry on Dec. 14, 2010. Guns that ATF had let “walk” across the border were found at the scene of Terry’s murder. They’ve also turned up at other crime scenes and have been used in the escalating drug wars going on in Mexico.

While his top agents were busy sitting on their hands and videotaping the sale of large quantities of weapons to Mexican drug dealers in U.S. border States that were then taken illegally into Mexico, President Barack Obama was speechifying that America needed to toughen its gun laws to prevent illegal arms from going to Mexico. And it’s growing more likely that Obama’s Attorney General, the racist and virally anti-gun Eric Holder, probably knew about the practice — and, at the very least, should have known.

You’ll be hard-pressed to find two people more anti-gun than Obama and Holder. Obama has been quoted as telling Sarah Brady of the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence that he’s working behind the scenes to restrict gun ownership.

The scandal grows closer to Holder — and by extension to Obama — with every layer Grassley peels away. If it turns out that Obama knew about the operations — or endorsed them — that will be yet another impeachable offense Obama has committed that a feckless Congress can ignore.

    Let’s remember what the slave-owning Floundering Fathers had in mind when they wrote the ridiculously poorly written Second Amendment: “…a WELL-REGULATED militia…”

      That is not the exact quote but it is close. And it was written by one of the Founding Fathers. It is NOT a National Guard under the command of the Federal Government as many such as you try to insist. The National Guard was not even dreamed of at that time. If you don’t believe that armed civilians can form a militia, then you are wrong. If you believe that they shouldn’t form one, then you need to actively try to get the Constitution changed. But don’t try to insist that our meaning is wrong. You are the one who is trying to change it – not us.

        At one time you could make the argument that the Guard was the militia or a part of it but under either Reagan or Clinton the Guard was federalized and effectively made part of the Army Reserve.

I think you will be embarrassed at the brain-washing you’ve displayed. By the way, America has this really great system that allows you to move to another country and give up your citizenship here. You might want to check that out since you obviously resent the truths upon which America was founded.

        “Well Regulated” as used in the Second Amendment means well armed and ready to report for service in the militia. It has NOTHING to do with control or regulation of firearms by the government.

        Let me put it even simpler for you. It means when a person is called to serve in the militia they are expected to bring their PERSONAL firearm with ammunition for it and be ready to serve.

        Alex, don’t forget the rest of it; “…The right of the people to KEEP and BEAR arms shall not be infringed.” The capitals are mine, and are the operative words here. It is the peoples right to Keep arms. It is the people right to bear arms. These are individual rights by the use and placement of those words. Ask your English teacher.

        Well, Alex, to those of us patriots still hanging on…well-regulated means: well-disciplined, at the top of your game, orderly, accurate, able to take the enemy down with one shot, effective, etc. By the way, did you ever study colonial America? Boys and men practiced, practiced, practiced…drilled, drilled, drilled…no one was dragging them from their beds to do so…these men and boys knew it was necessary to survival that they be accurate and act as a cohesive unit. Some of us still believe in that today…we’ll probably be the last ones standing….

        I don’t think fear enters the equation. I think the proper word is “prudent”. Those who refuse to learn from history are destined to repeat it. Read the founders, Alex. Seriously…they will enlighten you on this and so much more. They weren’t perfect, but they were THERE for the forming of our government and therefore, probably know better what they intended than you would.

        The Second Amendment says we have a right to bear arms. There was no list of exclusions to that right.
        That right was guaranteed because our Founders knew the road to tyranny could only be built if the population was disarmed. The founders were against a standing army. The citizens were considered to be the main line of defense for the country, so it stands to reason that no types of defensive weapons would have been disallowed. Of course, they didn’t have weapons of mass destruction like we now have, so it’s difficult to say if they would have approved of citizens bearing those types of weapons.
        But the Constitution gives provisions for amendment, and those provisions have been used many times to create amendments (much to our detriment in many cases). I know you Liberals don’t need no damn laws. But the rest of us believe that Government should obey the laws like mainstreet Americans are required to.
        So, if you think machine guns, fighter jets, shoulder-packed heat seeking missiles, etc. should be banned from private ownership, then why not do it the legal way and amend the Constitution?
        But then how would the Minority walk all over the Majority? Heaven forbid that we should not just bow down to the Liberal Elite and graciously accept their domination.

      Sowell’s final point is well taken and this: Those who so anxiously want to give back, should give back the truth.

      I couldn’t agree more. Spinning history to grind the axe of self-hatred and to further a political agenda based on myth is not giving back anything. Rather it’s taking, stealing, from the richness of our cultural heritage which, though far from perfect, has given the world a country of unlimited opportunity.

      Slavery was a terrible thing. But far from endemic to our country and England. If you don’t believe Sowell, just ask the people of ancient Sumner, Assyria, Egypt, Greece, Rome, the Nordic invasions and the Barbary Coast……

      While obstructing justice in the Philadelphia Black Panther case Holder shamelessly played the race card – “When you compare what people endured in the South in the 60s to try to get the right to vote for African Americans, to compare what people subjected to that with what happened in Philadelphia, which was inappropriate….to describe it in those terms I think does a great disservice to people who put their lives on the line for MY PEOPLE,” said Holder.

      “Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a NATION of COWARDS,” said Holder.

      In an interview with The Washington Post Holder said that regardless of how “affluent, educated and mobile” a black person becomes, “his race defines him more particularly than anything else.”

        Alex, its all about context…in para 1 he was defending the indefensible. He was “explaining” that because the Black Panthers were black, and the voters were white, then there was no problem. In para 2 he was giving an address celebrating Black History month, and he said Justice Department employees they have a special responsibility to advance racial understanding. Really? The Justice Dept? I thought justice was blind…In para 3, well, I think that says it all.

      How about the fact that DOJ stonewalled the prosecution of the Black Panther Party member who blocked the entry to a polling place because he deemed it “not a race” motivated crime since they were black (his words), or the fact that they will not prosecute black on white crimes related to voting rights. I do believe that that is an expression of racial preference, which is racism. That’s just for starters.

      Testifying before Congress to explain the inexplicable dismissal of charges in the Black Panther case, Holder said: “…to describe it in those terms I think does a great disservice to people who put their lives on the line for my people.”

      In 2009, he claimed that when it comes to discussing race, Americans are “a nation of cowards.”

      He said in a 1996 interview with The Washington Post that regardless of how “affluent, educated and mobile” a black person becomes, “his race defines him more particularly than anything else.”

      Holder’s inJustice Department has ordered the Dayton Police Department to lower its test standards for recruits, requiring only a 58% to pass the test, simply because not enough blacks were passing the test. Not even the NAACP agreed with the inJustice Department’s actions.

There have been some investigations and they found that gun dealer close to the border do not enforce the current laws and sell a majority of their guns across the border.

    Be careful how you interpret “scandals” this close to an election.

      Wrong
      First I was referring to the Iran-Contra scandal. Reagan sold arms to the same terrorists that held Americans captive for over 100 days in Iran.
      The reason was to supply arms to the NICARAGUAN Sandinista.

      He never gave arms to Al Quada, he trained and gave arms to the mujaheddin – not Al Quada, but that was actually started by Carter.
      We should have learned from that lesson. The Russians were defeated because they were an OCCUPYING army – ghee isn’t that what we are now?

      Drug dealers are not going to cross the border to buy guns. There are a lot of greedy people who buy the guns, carry them across the border for sale. These are referred to as “straw buyers”.
      Here is the “official” explanation. But of course if you don’t believe the government, you don’t believe the government. For your own sake – don’t make it about one party or the other – BOTH parties are guilty, the only thing different is the rhetoric.

      The goal of the program, known as Operation Fast and Furious, was to follow the guns, which included assault weapons, up the chain to Mexican drug-cartel leaders.

      It’s unclear, for example:

      - Whether officials could have stopped the sales of guns to suspected straw buyers. Critics have blasted the program because agents sometimes encouraged dealers to keep selling, but Justice officials say Arizona and federal laws didn’t allow them to block such sales.

      - Whether ATF agents would have had probable cause to arrest straw buyers before guns moved south. A Justice official and testimony from ATF agents conflict as to whether agents were authorized to make such arrests.

      - Whether the ATF told prosecutors everything it knew about where the weapons went. An official for Burke’s office said it was assured guns wouldn’t cross the border.

    I think this article is looking at this issue with tunnel vision. The whole thing is not just about 2nd amendment but also about funding counter insurgencies.

    All the way back to the VN war, drugs, money guns and insurgencies were tightly intertwined. During VN there were a lot of stories about the CIA carrying drugs into the USA to fund the Cambodian rebels.

    The war on drugs in south America has also been about pumping money into and propping up governments.

    BOTH parties have done similar things. Reagan sold arms to the same terrorists that held Americans captive.

      The Government is just doing what they do best. First they create the condition, then they offer themselves as the solution to fix the condition. How convenient for them. We need to wake up to the fact that Big Government is the Problem, Not the Solution!
      The simple fix is to get rid of the Drug Wars. Just as ending Prohibition ended the violence in the early 1930s. I can understand people in Government wanting to continue the Folly, as they profit from it, both in money and power. But the citizens? What compels them to buy into the Propaganda that Government can solve our drug problems by force?

        I’ve said all along there is certain percentage of our population that unredeemable, they will do drugs, drive drunk whatever regardless of the laws.
        Give them access to cheap drugs, either they will fit into society or they will kill themselves. Either way we are all better off.

        If there is no profit in it, they will not be on the school yards pushing it. You don’t see guys hanging around trying to sell booze do you?

    Well my opinion is that it comes down to this; It is the Government against the People, not Republicans and Democrats (one in the same against the people). If they get our guns then they have us where they want us. The right to keep and bear arms against a tyrannical government is what the constitution says. I think that the economic situation has been created to make it even harder for the people to get organized to combat the actions of the tyrannical government it has become.

      The First Ten Amendments are UNALIENABLE. They are not “given” to us by mortal man, but they are ours from the Lord Jesus Christ. No paper document gives you anything, and the only reason that the Founding Fathers put the Amendments in the Constitution was to remind the government who serve the governed that these God-Given rights are not theirs to meddle with and they cannot infringe upon them. Too many of us think that these rights are granted to us by the ink on the parchment, and this is what some of the Founders feared would happen to put them into writing. The Constituton merely spells out what is ours as sovereign individuals in this Republic. Our ignorance and complacency is our demise.

      I agree. The BATF has outlived its usefulness – if it ever had one. I think a lot of the problem is that the BATF simply cannot justify its payroll unless it creates problems to “solve”. Just like the FDA, the EPA, the DoE, etc.

        I’ve done business with most of those. One problem with Cheaper than Dirt – they generally are out of at least one item I order so I have to order something else to recover that money send.

        I’ve found the BEST way to order is by telephone with a credit card. I ask if what I want is in stock. If not, I don’t order it. Then I get my complete order.

        I would suggest buying now from most shops before they start asking for id to buy.

        I have houses in NC and SC, but I try not to claim NC…they are going to you-know-where in a handbasket…(forgive my southern expression!)I have held my nose and shopped for ammo at local China-Marts, but they are always low on ammo. They insist they just can’t get it in and keep it. One employee told us that they were rationing it and that a husband and wife trying to buy would only be sold to once in a trip because they were the same household. Of course, we just enter the dept. alone and make a purchase and then send the other one end to do the same. Still, it does seem strange….

        Elevenarrows–Ammo shortage here in north Texas (Dallas, Denton, Ft. Worth) is a thing of the past for the last year and a half. I have never been told at WallyWorld that I could only buy a certain amount of ammo. They have a great variety of what I’ll call ‘standard’ calibers, never anything special like 7.62x54R, 10mm, or 450 Bushmaster, and many others. But, for the most part, any ‘standard’ caliber is usually available. It is important to note that if you are chasing ammo at WallyWorld, it pays to ask the days and time the ammo shipments come in so you can hopefully arrange to be there when it hits the shelves and buy your ammo before ammo hordes move in.

        I asked around here and found NO ONE wanted strict gun laws. Or any at all. But I live in Texas. Few in the South want them. The only person I ever talked to who did was a high school girl. Once she married a trucker who was seldom home she changed her mind and got one herself.

        California (and to an extent the West Coast) and New England are the real ones who prefer strick gun control. Add Chicago to the list. But most else do not.

    Remember Brian Terry!

    Quite apart from Obama’s (peace be upon him) impeachable offense of starting a war without congressional approval is the illegal, stupid, criminal, asinine alleged sting operation conducted by Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, (ATF) under the auspices of Janet Napolitano’s Dept. of Homeland Security, apparently with her approval and now being protected by Eric Holder and the DOJ. The crap on this one is going to stick because no one in the hierarchy of the Federal Governments chain of command can claim that this amateurish scheme was hatched by professional operatives and not ordered by elite incompetents. Field Agents of the ATF warned of the consequences of this illegal operation but were, as is usual when elites know best, transferred, threatened or beat down to achieve their silence. The consequences, intended or not, was the death by murder of Border Patrol Officer Brian Terry, at the hands of Mexican Drug Cartel mercenaries into whose hands the ATF provided weapons that killed him were placed.

    I can see the panic and fear in ATF, DOJ and DHS now as Republican Congressman Darrell Issa of California is applying the screws to the lying, sniveling, finger-pointing incompetents who are supposed to run the Agencies. What is implied but not stated, yet, is that this gun providing sting operation to Mexican criminals, so they could allegedly trace the flow of weapons from American gun shows and illegal gun dealers to the cartels and thus close up those outlets that so freely arms the drug organizations, had a primary, more sinister motive. If you recall, the Chief Office Holder made a public speech last year, in an attempt to ramp up his anti- 2nd Amendment gun control measures and eliminate our rights to self-defense by stating as a fact that it was American guns flowing south arming those dangerous cartels. He didn’t have any evidence for that statement so it had to be manufactured for him through his elite cronies. This whole tawdry business was nothing more then an attempt by Obama (peace be upon him) to disarm America. And don’t forget the back door either with that hack Hillary and the UN.

    The ATF is led by a temporary acting director, Kenneth Melson, a recess appointee by the Chief Office Holder, who is totally without law enforcement experience meaning, he has never been schooled in what one can and cannot do according to the rules and I mean the US Constitution. Melson was briefed weekly on the status of the operation and even watched gun sales and transfers in real time on hidden cameras in cooperating gun dealers facilities.

    Apparently, Brian Terry wasn’t the first officer killed by weapons obtained through this sting operation. In February of this year, ICE Agent Jamie Zapata was shot to death by an ATF supplied weapon in Mexico City..

    And yet, there is still honor among Federal Police Officers. Three ATF agents became whistleblowers. One, Special Agent Dodson, had this to say: “I was involved in this operation, we monitored as they purchased hand guns, AK-47 variants, and .50 caliber rifles almost daily. Rather than contradict any enforcement actions, we took notes, we recorded observations, we tracked movements of these individuals for a short time after their purchases, but nothing more. Knowing all the while, just days after these purchases, the guns that we saw these individuals buy would begin turning up at crime scenes in the United States and Mexico, we still did nothing, allowing loads of weapons that we knew to be destined for criminals, this was the plan. It was so mandated.” Remember Brian Terry! Remember, Freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Go get ‘em!

        Unfortunately, Obama can not be charged with violating his oath of office since he never really took one. As you said, he screwed it up. Plus, he did not place his hand on the Bible when he took it and, being a Muslim, it meant nothing to him. And he IS a Muslim no matter what he and the brain dead media, including Fox, says. After all, on ABC is did say, “I’m guided by my Muslim faith.” A Christian would never make a slip of the tongue like that. Only a Muslim pretending to be a Christian would.

      I doubt very much the dealers were “cooperating” It is my belief that they were coerced into providing the video just like they were coerced into letting the sales go forward.

      The FBI informant was picked up on a DEA wiretap, and forwarded to the ATF.

        The Constitution guarantees a lot of things, but we are slowly losing them. We have a right to own property. SCOTUS took that away from us by saying our property can be taken away. The police aren’t supposed to enter our home without a warrant. The courts took that away recently as well. It’s only a matter of time before they take away our right to own guns. Our politicians, left and right, believe the constitution to be an illegal document. They only care about it when they find something it that can further their agenda.

While I find the Obama’s administrations actions in this case to be criminal, I don’t think Grassley has a constitutional leg to stand on. You all demanded proof of what has been going on for decades and now you have it. The mistakes by the ATF only intensifies the debate and may or may not change the outcome. The Second Amendment needs to be protected and alot of you insist there should not be any gun laws. There is no factual reality to that way of thinking either. The majority of Americans support the Second Amendment. So you do have that in your favor. The majority of Americans also support strict gun laws.So work needs to be done in bridging that gap.

        eddie, eddie, eddie, Fast and Furious happened because there was NO proof of any quantity of guns going to Mexico. The dealers were reporting the straw buyers to the BATF and were ordered to allow the sales to go forward anyway. The whole purpose of Fast and
        Furious and Project Gunrunner was to provide made up “evidence” that5 large quantities were crossing the border when in fact that was not the case.

        Besides it is illogical to think the Cartels to send Pedro across the border to purchase 20 semi-auto only AR-15s or AK-47s when for the same money they could get a couple of hundred or more full auto versions on the international black market.

        eddie the number of weapons bought in the US and carried into Mexico is negligable compared to the numbers brought into Mexico by the cartels that are purchased on the black market. Besides I have never heard anyone claim there were NO guns purchased in the US and taken to Mexico.

Justice officials were tracking two AK47s found at the scene of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry’s death. Federal officials charged three Mexican nationals with Terry’s murder late last week, but Issa said the good news doesn’t lift Attorney General Eric Holder and the rest of the DOJ off the hook.

        “The Justice Department hasn’t said how and why guns purportedly being tracked and monitored by federal law enforcement officials as part of Operation Fast and Furious ended up in the hands of Agent Terry’s killers,” Issa said in a statement. “It angers me to think that this death might not have occurred had it not been for reckless decisions made by officials at the Department of Justice who authorized and supported an operation that knowingly put guns in the hands of criminals. For these officials to imagine that this operation would result in anything other than a tragic outcome was naive and negligent.”

        Dan, you need to bone up on your American history. The Founders were anti-slavery, and this fact would be evident to you if you read their own writings. They considered it an abomination that a man would “own” another man, regardless of color. Do some homework before you repeat something you’ve heard and accepted without question and without doing your own research and forming your own opinions. It’ll pay off for you and for everyone with whom you come into contact.

        Dan, I am not sure if your portrayal of the intentions is accurate, but the outcome certainly is.

        Many, many years ago, I sold real estate in the city of Detroit. I was selling to welfare and ADC mothers because they were easy sales. The more dependent children a mother had the nicer the home she could buy – ON YOUR TAX DOLLAR. I had a “family” Grand mother, mother, 10 kids and they were excited when the 15 year daughter got pregnant – they could buy a bigger house!

        The whole welfare/Aid to Dependent Children program HAS enslaved whole generations to to government hand outs. It has also destroyed the family unit in the ghettos, only single mothers get the big hand outs. I don’t know if this was done intentionally or if it was good intentions gone bad.

        The thing that bothers me is that he may jump the gun on this one and invoke marshal law ahead of time,check this out:
        An Obama executive order that creates a council of state governors who will work with the feds to expand military involvement in domestic security, together with PDD 51, a Bush era executive order that gives the President dictatorial power in times of national emergency, eliminate the last roadblocks to declaring martial law in the United States.

        The new order, which is entitled Establishment of the Council of Governors (PDF), creates a body of ten state governors directly appointed by Obama who will work with the federal government to help advance the “synchronization and integration of State and Federal military activities in the United States”.

        The governors will liaise with officials from Northcom, Homeland Security, the National Guard as well as DoD officials from the Pentagon “in order to strengthen further the partnership between the Federal Government and State governments,” according to the executive order.

        The exective order combines seamlessly with Presidential Decision Directive 51 to hand Obama dictator status in times of declared, and not necessarily genuine, national emergency.

        In May 2007, former President George W. Bush sparked much alarm by openly declaring himself to be a dictator in the event of a national emergency under provisions that effectively nullify the U.S. constitution, but such an infrastructure has been in place for over 70 years and this merely represented a re-authorization of martial law powers.

        I’ve been reading the most incredible book (Apollyon Rising 2012), which reveals an amazingly detailed look into the occult workings of the NWO elite, which goes way back in history. It also give us understanding of why they choose the times, places and events that shape governments and mass thinking. This is information that has never been revealed to us before.

        11 is considered to be an ominous number, as in the 11th hour. It is the last chance to stop an emergency (as 911, 9/11). It is also considered to be a gateway between pillars (or towers), and there three gateways (11, 11, 11). They’ve already taken us through two of them. That is why we need to beware of 11/11/11. Three sets of 11s is 33, the final degree.

        You’ve no doubt heard the warnings about the fall of 2011.

        The symbolism that is everywhere has been lost on the uninformed (or, as they refer to us, the uninitiated). Once we learn what that is, the codes that they use to communicate openly without us ever having a clue, we begin to understand where all of this is really going, and why.
