Casey Anthony Not Guilty Of Murder, Guilty Of Lying

Today, the 12-member jury in the Casey Anthony trial returned a verdict: Anthony is not guilty of first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Marie. However, she was convicted of lying to the police and will be sentenced at 9 a.m. on Thursday.

“The verdict means 25-year-old Anthony was found not guilty of all charges except for four counts of providing false information to law enforcement officer. She will be spared a death sentence, but could still potentially face years behind bars in a Florida prison,” the Orlando Sentinel reported. “Jurors deliberated for less than 11 hours over two days, pondering the witness testimony and hundreds of pieces of evidence they were presented with over the several-week trial.”

The trial became a media sensation, with live footage being streamed every day on the websites and channels of mainstream news outlets. HLN TV personality Nancy Grace dubbed Anthony “Tot Mom” and covered the trial on a nearly 24/7 basis.

“Well, I hope this is a lesson to those of you who have indulged in media assassination for three years,” defense attorney Cheney Mason reportedly said after the verdict.

“While we’re happy for Casey, there are no winners in this case. Caylee has passed on far, far too soon,” another of Anthony’s defense attorneys, Jose Baez, reportedly said. “Today, our system of justice has not dishonored her memory.”

    The Trial is OVER ! The State FAILED to proove her or anyone else Guilty of this poor childs death. The MEDIA is creating a VIGILANTE MOB by it’s continuing Rabble Rousing. Our Justice System Worked! I am proud of it. The Jurors should be commended for upholding the Law. She was found not guilty of charges calling for the Death Penalty based on Supposition and Pure Circumstantial fantasy Evidence. Granted she is not to be admired and called the bluff of the ASA threats of Death. The Hardrive Search Programs (TWO) both FAILED to produce Evidence against Anthony until the creator of the newest program arrived and mysteriously discovered the Chloroform and Neck Breaking Searches. BOGUS! Then the ASA was seen mocking the Defense Councils Clsosing Argument by Smirking and Laughing in full view of the Jury. He should have been Fined for Contempt of Court and Conduct Unbecoming. He was not! Why? He violated the Judge’s Orders of Conduct. The idiot that ‘shot the bird’ at the ASA ( Asst State Atty) was Jailed and Fined. The ASA was offended and reported this act. The MEDIA should STOP this sensationalizing (Yellow Journalism) and be held responsible for any harm done to Casey Anthone. She was found NOT GUILTy ! ~Rick Magee, FL

    Of course she will be judged again, and thank God it won’t be on circumstantial evidence. We will all be judged, for every thought and word. How many of us want to answer for our secret thoughts? I think if we remember that, it may help us to be less involved with judging some messed up girl, who’s crimes we can’t define for sure.

    Was it an accidental death? I’m guessing probably, but not in the pool. But I’m guessing and so are you. sure she’s probably guilty of Something, but of 1st degree murder? probably not, according to logic and the evidence. They should have tried to prove she was guilty of gross stupidity, grievous miss judgment, endangering the welfare of a child and covering up a death. THAT they might have won. 1st degree murder was just to much to believe.

    So now any mother can place tape over hers childs mouth. put her in the trunk of her car. Party for thirty days . When the body is finally discovered she is found found guilty of lying about the childs disappearance. look at all the time, effort and money it took looking for this poor child. Only in America.maybe Susan Smith should have been found innocent.maybe her foot slipped on the gas pedal and she feel out of the car when it went into the lake knocking her out and she couldn’t save her children. Believe that one? No! I didn’t think so. I don’t believe Casey either.Like someone said, she will be judged again. They will be no resonable doubt.Guilty or not guilty.

    I was totally shocked at the not guilty verdict, it makes me sick that she got away with murdering that baby. I also hope she rots in hell. I also hope it comes home to those jurors, what goes around comes around.

      Why, a jury must find not guilty if there is reasonable doubt even if they have a gut feeling to the contrary, It is different to sit on a jury and hear and see everything that transpired in the court room as opposed to media accounts that like to sensationalize these matters especially the rants of Nancy Grace who does a great disservice to justice in this country . It is my understanding that the coroner could not establish a cause of death and assumed from the circumstances that it was a homicide in addition there was no evidence other than circumstantial, combine just these two factors and the very real possibility of reasonable doubt which seems very logical. A not guilty does not mean innocent but just that the state did not prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. This is and has been since the country was founded our method of justice and those of us whom believe in the Constitution and in justice to the best of our ability take our hats off to this jury for having the guts to stand up media pressure by doing what is constitutionally required of good citizens. I’m proud of them; I have sat on several juries and found both guilty and not guilty verdicts and never did I find a jury who was interested in anything but determining if the evidence was beyond a reasonable doubt. Could it be that your bitterness and hatred blind you to this reality?

    i cry at the thought of what happen to that baby girl. her mom could have left her with the grandparents they would have taken great care of her im sick to my stomach with this and i dont understand how she sleeps at night

      It was obvisouly impartial people who took their charge seriously. Cause of death could not be proven and all the evidence was circumstantial. When will people get it that the system worked perfectly. She was found “not guilty”, not “innocent.” She will suffer for the rest of her life no matter how much money she makes from thi. How about all the conservatives/Christians thronging her parents’ house and sending them death threats? That’s really thoughtful behavior! What is with people??? Women and children are dying all over the world every day and not a thought is given to them by the majority.

    you cant be serious this girl killed her daughter and lied about it and she gets off??? i dont get the justice system and if she was a black woman or spanish she would have been hung but she is *playing the victim* i hope she rots in hell for what she did and i dont understand how she can sleep or go out and party while her daughter was missing. i wake up every night once just to check on my daughters and when im at work i call my nanny 2 or 3 times just to ask what are my kids doing.. justice was not served today
