CNN Poll Finds Some Embracing Libertarian Stances
It appears that some Americans are leaning more toward Libertarian views than they have in the past.
According to a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll, there was an uptick on two answers in the poll that were Libertarian in nature.
The first essentially asked if the government should be doing more to help people, or if problems should be left to citizens and businesses to solve.
Last year, 61 percent of the respondents said the government was doing too much, which is a view shared by Libertarians. This year, that percentage increased to 63 percent.
The second question asked if the United States government should promote traditional values in society or if the government should not favor any set of values. The poll showed an increase from 44 percent to 50 percent saying the government should not favor any set values.
CNN used the Opinion Research Corp. to conduct the poll, which was done June 3-7 of this year and involved interviews with 1,105 adult Americans.
