Osama bin Laden Killed By Navy SealsIn a hastily-called national television address, President Barack Obama announced that the most wanted man in the world, Osama bin Laden, had been brought to justice. He had been shot in the head by Navy Seal Team Six in a raid on a compound just north of Islamabad, Pakistan, Obama said.

bin Laden was blamed by the United States government for orchestrating multiple terrorist attacks on U.S. interests, including the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001. He was also touted as the head of the terrorist group al-Qaida.

But news of bin Laden’s death at the hands Navy Seals was greeted with skepticism in some quarters because of the number of previous reports of his death from people who would know, including former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, the assassinated former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

Fueling speculation that the bin Laden execution is a ruse is the decision to bury the body at sea in the hours after the attack and the fact that many news organizations ran a photo they claimed to be the face of bin Laden showing  severe trauma even as the White House claimed it was debating whether to release photos of the body to quiet skepticism.

    Actually, since bin Laden didn’t die a martyr, he can’t be “entitled” to 72 virgins. Just another dead, power-mad geekoid who shared similar beliefs with America’s hardcore progressives. Herr Obummer can dare to take credit for the old fart’s demise temporarily, but
    as is the case with poll queens and kings, their hidden agendas will come back to haunt them (paranoid libs who adored Lenin, progressives who wanted to go to bed with Stalin, campus dorks who were in awe of Mao, braindead degree-chasers under the spell of Alinsky, etc.).
    Good riddance to a first-rate jerk who belongs at the bottom of history’s ash heap. And so it must always be to tyrants. A pity that it took so long to rid this world of such a worthless yahoo.

    Good prep and intelligence work by all from the Seals and those watching the courier all the way up the chain to the President. President Obama made a Gutsy call and it was the right one. Bush & Cheney must be red faced (if they were not already) for their failure to get this terrorist top gun. President Obama was cool as a cucumber as he sat at the press club roast all the while knowing what was going down.

      …and then you woke up… What was so “gutsy” about approving the final shot? A caveman could have made the call…a no brainer, just happened on Obama’s watch. ‘Bout time he did something patriotic for a change. As for “cool as a cucumber”, Obama is always cool when he’s waiting for instructions from his bosses. Again, a no brainer for him.

        The call as you call it was the last move after nine months that Obama and others carefully planned for and prepared for the mission he did not just make the decision until they had worked hard on it during this time and even then it was a gusty call that took a lot of courage as much could have gone wrong and if they had failed in any way guys like you would have had a field day ridiculing him and it probably would have handed him a defeat in 2012 with this true mission accomplished under his belt his chances in 2012 are enhanced. This is a moment all should be proud of and judging from the crowds out celebrating in the middle of the night my bet is the vast majority of Americans will be proud of all who participated in this including the President and I’m sure polls will show that. Eat your silly little heart out!!

    There should be no speculation. I heard interviews with neighbors of the house where he was found. They heard the choppers and saw the whole thing. There are pictures of the inside of the house. The pictures that have appeared online are photo-shopped and were used a couple of years ago. I felt no special glee at hearing the news. It really doesn’t make much of a difference except to appease those who seek vengeance. There sure were a lot of people rejoicing all day, though. Each to his own.

    I’m surprised there’s been no word yet from Al Quaeda.

      I just wander why peace nick Obama decided to recant on his promise for a draw down in the middle east. After 2 years he’s a war monger?
      He intentionally blocked the last ten minutes of Trump’s program..coincidence? Oh yeah! We learn that OBL was stormed in a mansion in Pakistan, asked to surrender, he refuses, gets murdered and
      carted off to a ship and no autopsy, 24 hour DNA match, and then dumped at sea wit no evidence to show the world that we got the bastard?
      Very suspicious, I think our president wants to stir up the proverbial Islamic hornet’s nest and this shizze head leaves our southern border wide open. To top all that off Mr president needs another trillion dollar loan to keep his war going and cutting benefits from Social security and medicare. This guy has lied to us since day one, replaced a phony birth certificate with another and he has the nerve to take credit for intel he received to get OSB. That same intel gotten through enhanced interrogation at GITMO!

      DP, couldn’t have been done at all without Bush Jr’s commitment to get OBL, enhanced interrogation practices and GITMO. Credit Obama with the finality, but don’t think for a second that he alone deserves all of the credit. Remember who was going after the CIA interrogators, going to shut down GITMO and who was going to end the war(s)…where has that got us but involved in more conflicts in the middle east.

      I do have to wonder what price the US had to pay Pakistan, who had know about Bin Laden’s existance in the “compound”, for the go ahead on the raid?

        Wow. You folks are ignorant and misinformed. Anyone in the military knows that an operation like this does not happen without the go ahead of the President. I know it is tough for you guys to admit that our President could actually do anything right, but this is ridiculous. Somehow he was the sole person responsible for the Congress’s budget (HE was deciding whether or not to pay the soldiers??) but he oddly has nothing to do with the military that he commands? Trying not to call you names here, but it’s difficult.

        boots on the ground had their pay docked because the budget might not be signed. My respect for congress, senate, president, has greatly diminished these last several years. They put themselves first above all when their duty should be country first, themselves second. They expect that out of the soldiers and I expect it out of them, the politicians… that they are a bunch of wimps is obvious.

      Palin12, I agree, kudos to those involved although I can’t get to excited over it…if he was indeed killed and not already worm food months or years prior. Of course Osama Obama will take full credit as Commander in Chief and spoke proudly of the American resolve to hunt down and kill Bin Laden. I do have to wonder why he didn’t apologize to the Bin Laden family for the killing? Sorry if I sound a bit skeptical or confused about Obama’s leadership. Personally, I don’t trust this Liar in Chief’s word on anything at all.
