A Whole New Ballgame

April 12, 2011 by

A Whole New Ballgame

Note to the Democrat Party: Don’t let the tears fool you. Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio) can play hardball, and he can bring the lumber. And there he was Friday night, with the clock ticking down on the Democrats’ incredibly ill-advised gambit, taking President Barack Obama and Senator Harry Reid (D-Nev.) over the wall.

While there are still I’s to dot and T’s to cross, Boehner has managed to marshal the widely disparate ranks of the Republican Party into just enough of a politically irresistible force to break the lines of the Democrats’ eminently moveable object. While fair criticisms of Boehner can be—and often are—voiced by conservatives, consider his burden in the battle which unfolded last week. While the Democrats enjoyed the placid compliance of sheep, Boehner had to herd lions.

The Republicans lack the blind devotion upon which Obama and his accomplices rely. There is no Republican Service Employees International Union (SEIU), no Republican New York Times and no Republican Michael Moore. The Democrats are about as diverse as the Farrakhan family reunion—not counting the space aliens.

But from the rank-and-file Republicans to the Tea Partiers to the Libertarians, the conservatives are fueled by something the Democrat Party neither knows, nor understands: Righteous outrage (as opposed to mere outrage).

Righteous outrage is a conservative reaction to the President’s willingness to hold military paychecks hostage to abortion-on-demand. Mere outrage is Democrat-endorsed union thugs sending death threats to Obama’s political adversaries. Righteous outrage is conservative recognition that the corpulent bureaucracy of Obamacare is to functional healthcare as so-called “anthropogenic global warming” is to actual science. Mere outrage is a shrieking liberal harpy like Representative Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.) spewing out the kind of defamatory drivel which calls to mind the pedantic pabulum normally vomited up by the idiot gasbags at MSNBC:

“In ’94 people were elected simply to come here to kill the National Endowment for the Arts. Now they’re here to kill women.”

Slaughter was referring to conservative insistence that the Federal Government cease funding abortion outside extreme cases. That’s a fair stretch from Eric Cantor (R-Va.) with a high-powered rifle firing at the Des Moines Ladies’ Auxiliary while they pose for pictures in front of the Lincoln Memorial.

The sort of hubris demonstrated by Slaughter is clearly born of comfort. Democrats from safe districts have become so content that they’ve forgotten most districts are more variegated than the sorts of places which elect crooks like Representative Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) and hypocritical millionaires like Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

Perhaps the Democrats’ overconfidence was born of rosy recollections of 1995. In the months following the Republican Revolution of 1994, then-President Bill Clinton’s refusal to interact with the GOP beyond “triangulating” their message led to the kind of shutdown Boehner and the GOP managed to avert Friday night. Back then, the corporate media was no less prostrate before their Democrat masters than they are now. However, the access to real information was much more limited, thereby producing a population which was far easier to fool. Most Americans still thought the nightly network news was a legitimate source, not DNC-conceived editorials masquerading as unbiased coverage.

Moreover, Clinton had something Obama will never have: Likeability. Clinton is the “buddy you love drinking with even though you know you can’t leave him alone with your wife;” whereas Obama is more of the “buddy you hate drinking with because he sneers at your beer over the rim of his white wine spritzer glass; and your wife hates him because he reminds her of your neighbor who drives a Prius and talks with his eyes closed all the time” type.

And unlike the 1995 shutdown showdown, which Clinton won, the 2011 shutdown showdown will cost the Democrats dearly. Sure, Boehner didn’t get the kind of spending cuts most conservatives were hoping for (taxpayer funding for the now-completely-exposed NPR lucked into a stay of budgetary execution); but he wrangled a widely disparate group into breaking the Democrat Party’s normally solid lines. More importantly, he forced the President and his accomplices to pitch them over the plate, where the conservative bats “took them yard.”

Boehner didn’t get $60 billion plus, but he did force a President who spends money like he’s trying out for a spot on the “Real Trophy Wives of Beverly Hills” to give up more than $30 billion. And according to Boehner’s new editorial in the USA Today, “the next fight will be about trillions, not billions.”

The conservatives are on the field. Let’s play ball!

The real fight for America is now here:

Do we let the Progressive/Liberal-Socialist/Communist left destroy America and then rebuild it into the totalitarian nightmare they want?

    Or

Do we go all out with protest marchs/phone barrages/all manner of mail, litigation, and maybe even extreme measures?

In my opinion they budget battle will determine the future of America, we lose and America loses.

The GOP cannot claim success until the budget is balanced by slashing government and not just the federal government but all government at all levels – from the local school board to the Whitehouse. Americans need to keep the fruits of their labor and the democrat-fed parasites must have their suckers removed from our wallets.

    • Mick

      Bob…………..That’s it…..

The move has already started at local and state levels. At federal level, none but the Tea Party have a clue.

Well? maybe the government needs to take in more, you know that’s the other side to any budget. ~ How about booty of war? Where is it? Did Chaney make off with it?

War needs to return to the old days, when it was a profitable venture.

And the ones that enjoy the most should contribute the most as should the ones that contribute the most should enjoy the most.

    • victoria blood

Hmmm….Bobwire, I have heard estimates 30 million people living in this country without citizenship. Here is a chance to raise alot more taxes. Repeal the 16th amendment. Institute the Fair Tax. Citizens enjoy the benefits. These “non-citizens” PAY. Along with all the pimps, prostitutes, drug dealers and tourists. http://www.fairtax.org

bob wire sticks his foot in it again, with “Well? maybe the government needs to take in more, you know that’s the other side to any budget. ~ How about booty of war? Where is it? Did Chaney (sic) make off with it?”

      (1) No, taking in more is not the OTHER side of the budget to the Democrats, it’s the ONLY side of the budget they have any interest in.

      (2) The comment re Cheney: gratuitous bull$hit.

      • Patty

Ya, it happened on Rumsfelds watch. That particular one anyways. I am sure that there has been more since.

  • H. Kirk Rainer

Aside from specific persons, the process of the budget resolution–as portrayed–leaves much doubt to the reality of any significant, serious reforms in spending. The dollar figure does not even make a dent in the deficit or debt….

Both parties (…questioning another reality of a two-party system) are complicit in deficit spending; and the fact remains that the practice of living beyond our means is momentarily empowering; that is, until the piper must finally be paid.

  • Denise

If we look at the 10th Amendment, the Federal government has exceeded its powers and will continue to do so unless they are stopped. The budget was key to the first step to stop the power grab but it was disappointing that we did not stand firm and shut the government down because giving in to the democrates will weaken the real battle which is the 2012 budget fight. Where is the real leadership to stand tall against all of the adversity and stand tall for what the people who put them in office want — fiscal responsibility. This is not a ball game because if it was the Republicans struck out big time by having bases full and then losing in the end. Shame on them. Have some guts.

    • spitfire

I wish the American people had some guts, so we could take this country back from the criminals.

      • Cawmun Cents

I believe that we still have guts, but too many are too comfortable to do what is pertinent.Take away the beer and the television…..(but beer just until the resistence gets hard after the job!)and we could get it done.

  • Former Walmart person

John Bonehead is a loser. I would have to say there are more liberals on the government dole (in terms of civilian jobs) than conservatives. If the republicans would just hold fast and keep the government completely shut down until the democrats cave, how long would the shut down really last? Who among the people would cave first? The democrats who probably have no storable food, or conservatives more likely to have storable food and less dependence on a government job? Also, if our military stopped getting paid, maybe they would think long and hard about the unconstituional wars. Morale might head for the toilet and some leaders may be more apt to keep soldiers away from IEDs if the military isn’t even being paid. I beleive that if the republicans offered no compromise and no quarter, the democrats would eventually beg for the shut down to end on their hands and knees… Of course many of us know that republicans and democrats are simply two sides of the coin of USA tyranny.

    • Carlucci

Looking to the “representatives” in government to do the right thing is like attempting to pee up a tree. They’ve all got to go. Jesse Ventura is right. Stop voting for democrats and republicans. The status quo has got to go.

    • Carlucci

Can we keep calling him Boner? Bonehead is good, too.

  • Dr. smith

Once again our government has failed us miserably. The spending cuts are a show, a charade. Our budget is $3.6T where T is trillion, as $1,000,000,000,000. 12 zeros. The government takes from us $2T, and yet, despite our outrageous taxes, $2T isn’t enough. Isn’t enough for the massive numbers of Gov. employees, 22.5M, isn’t enough for their high salaries and gold plated benefits. They need to offer more entitlements to unions in exchange for votes. The gov. owes another 14T to foreign countries like China and Japan. The gov. pays $400B a year in interest on these loans.

$1.6T is the deficit, the money we don’t have for all the programs, that’s approximately 50% of the budget. The cuts of $40B, where B is billion of dollars, that’s a 1 with 9 zeros, are only 1% of spending, a cut of 2.5% in the deficit, a 10% cut of the interest of the loans, and only .3% or .003 of the $14T we owe!

Let’s put it into everyday household terms by cropping off 9 zeros from your federal tax dollars. Let’s say your household spends $3,600/month. Your paycheck, after paying your taxes, clears $2000/month. You currently owe $14,000 in loans.

You sit down with your wife and decide to really “tighten the belt”. After wrangling with your wife about frequent trips to Wal-Mart, you comprise and come up with $36 of spending cuts from your $3600/month spending. Remember, you only clear $2000/month.

Is this going to help your financial soundness over the years? This is exactly what Congress is doing with your money, after your 50 hr. work week and how they manage YOUR money! Your dollar buys a lot less because your government prints money as they see fit. I sure wish I could do that at home, print the extra $1600/month I overspend, but for you and I it’s called counterfeiting and we go to jail. For Congress, it business as usual!

We’re suppose to have a government “instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed”. Are you giving your consent for the continued reckless spending that will lead to either financial collapse or our children’s enslavement to government?

    • homeboy

your missing the point they don’t care. they want us to fail . their about control and their reelection. you better hope the bond market doesn’t fail and nobody buys treasuries.

The complete shutdown would have cost the Unions more money than our Pathetic government. There would have been triple the death threats and other Intimidations (Orchestrated by the dark Gnome in the fungus infected white house).

    • Jeff in OH

Jean, The government doesn’t really shut completely down, Just the democraps programs (non essential stuff)Like funding Pland Parenthood, Accorn, Foreign aid to the hamoss so they can kill Israel. And other moslem country’s so they can attack us. You know, stuff like that…

      • Kate8

What I want to know is, if we have so many NON-essential government jobs and agencies, why are we still funding them?

NON-essential means that we DON’T REALLY NEED THEM.

      • spitfire

You mean like 3 wars, and a out landish foreign aid budget??

      • DaveH

        Yes,
And numerous Government agencies such as the Department of Education, which are unnecessary (not to mention Unconstitutional), and even malicious in many cases. And the Government owns 30% of our land and is still trying to accumulate more.
Government spends 40% of our GDP, and wastefully at that.
They are the Biggest Corporation in the land. They are out of control. It’s time to reign them in.

  • Jeff in OH

The shutdown would have killed the Democraps. All there pay-o-la would stop. We wold be better off to shut it down till next election so we can hold what we got and quit paying Obumers constituents

I’m not so sure the will of the people is strong enough to make the necessary changes before the ratio of takers vs. givers has grown to an unstoppable size. Once we reach that tipping point, it will be all downhill until the end. After that, it’s a crap shoot.
We can see from Cuba just how bad it must get before the leaders realize that it’s even to their benefit to give some freedom to the citizens.

Boehner(should be boner-he’s a dick)settled on half of what he set out to do. The gov’t shut down should have happened last week forcing the cuts we need and bringing people back to basics. But it’s all okay because we get to play the same game again this week, like some sort of political baseball game. No runs, no strikes, who’s on first, what’s on second, B.S.

    Ben,
As far as I am concerned, Boehner is still a rookie and has not yet earned the right to wear the conservative jersey. As Tom Hanks is famous for saying… “There’s no crying in Baseball!” The Weeper of the House is still on probation and I would designate Ron Paul as pinch hitter just to keep Boehner on top of his game. With only 1 RBI at the bottom of the first inning, there’s no reason to break out the champaign just yet.

      • DaveH

And Ignorance. Which explains the Liberal inclinations to do away with religion.

    • Vicki

Bob Wire demonstrates his knowledge of the nature of God:
“You are insufferable, sanctimonious and good writer Ben but God is on everybody side and not just the Tea Parties.”

God is not likely on the side of thieves, muggers, murderers or abortionists (Oops I repeat myself), but you go right ahead and believe as you will. God did give you free will so that YOU can choose to believe. Or not.

      • bob wire

God didn’t make evil, God made man and man made evil.

Man is Gods creation, God is man creation.

one cannot disown the other thou they may attempt to try.

Don’t attempt to tell me what I know about GOD you moron of a nitwit.

        Atheist don’t believe in God.

        God doesn’t believe in Atheist.

God made man in his own image (one of pure spirit)

Man made God ( white dude with a long beard that sits on a cloud and runs things)

        Don’t be a dumb ass.

      • Michael J.

        bob wire,
Some men are Atheist because God made them that way.

      • Vicki

Bob Wire tries to impress the heavens:
“Don’t attempt to tell me what I know about GOD you moron of a nitwit. ”

I tremble before the wrath of the wit of the great and powerful OZ.

        Not.

we are in this boat because of selfishness and corruption from top to bottom.

Bottom line is…. Get the government out of my life

    • Doc Sarvis

I hope you don’t use government made roads, or value national defense, or care about clean water and air because government is heavily involved in all of that.

      • Jeff in OH

Gas taxes are suppose to pay for roads, and if they used it for that they could pave every nook and cranny of our country in a year. 2. There cutting defense the real thing the government is suppose to do, and 3. Clean water!! Hell there going to tax the air…

      • Patty

Sarvis-Have you been out of your house? The roads suck, we are in 3 wars, and I have to buy something that purifies the water that I drink. Ya, they are doing a great job!

      • http://Illinois'17th Old Henry

        Patty:

” Ya, they are doing a great job”!

And don’t forget SS, Medicare, Medicade, Amtrack and THE POST OFFICE…

      • Vicki

What about the shuttle program. Oh wait. Those blew up too.

      • Raggs

        Come on doc…

The states take care of their own roads and water!
Defence?… Last I checked ( yesterday ) we are in an ILLEGAL war.

      • Carlucci

And where was the “defense” during 9-11? Oh,wait – it was an inside job/false flag operation.

      • Patty

        Raggs-The feds supplement our roads.
        http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/ohim/onh00/onh2p10.htm
When the bridge collapsed in MN, they were too busy funding a new stadium through the back door to take care of the states infrastructure. The feds paid for a lot of it like 3/4.

And there is operation “fast and firious” where the government agents that are supposed to watch out for “illegal” gun sales tell the seller to go ahead and then watch the guns “walk” to Mexico.

That way the very same agency can “track” gun sales used in Mexican crimes and blame it on US Gun sellers. Then gun control people can point at the info to try and get more anti self defense laws passed.

        Really nice guys.

      • Kate8

Vicki – Always amazing how the facts get twisted to fit an agenda.

      • Patty

And the puppet show goes on and on and on….

      • Michael J.

        Soc Darvis,
“I hope you don’t use government made roads, or value national defense, or care about clean water and air because government is heavily involved in all of that.”

The people built the roads with their own hands and paid for them with their tax dollars. The people man the military and fund it out of their own pockets. The people are stewards of the evironment and do as good a job as anywhere else on the planet and better than most.

Government is just overpaid clerks who excel in spending, hiding, stealing and wasting other peoples money and would be lost in the real world.

BTW, do you work for the government?

        ————————————————————–

The only legitimate government involvement in any of that is in National Defense.
Destruction of the environment should be punishable under a system of Justice, which we don’t have and roads should be privately contracted.

      • bob wire

Then there would be fewer roads, less commerce and less economic growth and most likely speaking Dutch for a national language.

JC, I too was born 150 years too late but I’m not going to insist my views on other people like the Taliban.

      • Michael J.

        bob wire,
There are far worse things than speaking Dutch. If CAIR has it’s way, Farsi may be the dominate language soon. And for our kids it will be off to Wahhabi School. You’ll have to re-learn how to walk without tripping over your Tunik. Maybelline and Max Factor will fold because who needs make-up if your wearing a Burka.

      • Dennis Patrick

        Right on, Bob!

      • Patty

bobwire-Germany has half the roads we have, and not because they are smaller, I’m talking % (and better ones I might add) and their ecomomy is doing a little better than ours.

So you don’t allow for the absolute law of nature that says we will have the roads we “need” and that they would come by way of initiative from those who need them?
Bob I gave you more credit than that. “Government” stifles creativity, production and initiative…it does NOT promote it.

In fact we would be MUCH farther ahead today if not for government “control and extortion” of all human endeavor.

Vig-You could be right. It was a total WAG on my part.

      • bob wire

“Bob, what the hell do the Dutch have to do with anything you talked about?”

I was responding to a poster that wanted the government to be gone! Myself and a few other was pointing out many of the things that government provided we could hardly do without. Such things as roads, bridges, canals, the ICW ( inter-costal waterways) infrastructure that allows people to move about and commerce to flourish, building, manufacturing and products getting to market.

It was the new telegraph and railroad that greatly aided the north to defeat the Confederate South. President Grant’s administration push to link the east and west coast by rail. All projects encouraged and assisted by government.

All of this government involvement is what place us in position to aid in overcoming Germany as she rose up twice! once from ashes!

Without US government perpetration and engagement, it not too far a stretch to speculate the end results.

If all of Americans did as they pleased as this poster suggested we would have never stopped the will and determination of the waring German people.

If not so for America, Europe would look much differently today.

But I do believe if Germany had forced an unconditioned surrender in Europe and England, American’s today would be speaking dutch for they would have came to claim us for the Mother Land.

Adolph was just that kind of a guy, the Germans had to be backed into a corner where they choose to end their life by their own hand. There was no surrender by leadership.

      • Vicki

There are a LOT of things that government provides that private industry has PROVEN it can provide better. Mail and package delivery are just 2 obvious examples. Immediate protection from muggers, thieves, rapists, murderers is a less obvious example.

Remember when seconds count the police are only minutes away.

      • bob wire

For the record, I am German, I have two last names Darwin Winkler (pronounced Vinkler), so no one is to feel I might be racially prejudice to the German people or Nation. I hold no special pride it’s purely a biological fact that holds no shame.

and ~ JC somebody enjoyed your comeback and I see your point but if you wish to look thu world history, government leadership has always required dominion and has been responsible for their greatest achievement and greatest failures by virtue of the collective, common goals and leadership.

This will never change , not on any level you wish to view the subject of government.

      • Vigilant

        bob wire,

You’ve got to be kidding me! Dutch is the language of the Netherlands, not Germany (and you say you are of German heritage?).

There’s a hell of a lot of difference between Dutch and Deutsch!

      • JC

Bob W, you’re mixing up your arguments. The Second World War has nothing to do with government incursion into everything we do.
National Defense IS a Federal function…one of the very few.

      • Vicki

        Vigilant says:
“There’s a hell of a lot of difference between Dutch and Deutsch!”

        True.
        Dutch is English for Dutch.
        Deutsch is German for German.

      • steve

Well said, JC, and thank you!!

Bob – wrong again, eraser breath.

      • TIME

        Doc’e pooooie,
95% of all the water used in the United states is now owned by the French. Oh BTW – they don’t hold US standards mandadted by the Government as rules they need to follow.
Thus your water theory is well, I think we can skip the colorful words.

As to roads these were all paid for by everyone {who pays TAXS} in each state. By the way now even states are thinking about selling these roads to Foreign investors, who by the way will charge YOU & I a Toll to use said roads.

Clean air, perhaps you should look into the Cap & Trade bill, that the EPA is working on shoving down our throats, did you know that you will be charged to breath air. No, thats not a joke.

But you just keep eating the crap samitch and spitting out the perfect recharged Bull Sh!t daily so you can make your self feel better.
Hey BTW – you do a good job of displaying how Ignorant many people are. Keep up the good work bubba you get your rubber boobie stamp for the day yet again. So you wear your Twinkie pants with pride.

Sorry, TIME, that’s a bit of a stretch. Care to furnish your source for that info?

      • Patty

Possible source:Private utilities. About half of American drinking water utilities, or about 26,700, are privately owned, providing water to 11% of Americans served by public water systems.[58] Most of the private utilities are small, but a few are large and are traded on the stock exchange. The largest private water company in the U.S. is American Water, which serves 15 million customers in 1,600 communities in the U.S. and Canada.[62] It is followed by United Water, which serves 7 million customers and is owned by the French firm Suez Environnement. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_supply_and_sanitation_in_the_United_States

      • Vigilant

7 million customers is hardly 95%.

      • Patty

I believe that was from 2007. They could have sold off motre of it since then. I think the bigger point is that a foreign group can run it better than our own?

      • DaveH

        Waah, Waah, Waah.
So how do you propose we ever improve, Doc, once Big Wasteful Government gets its tentacles into every aspect of our economy?

      • DaveH

All of those efforts, Doc, (with the possible exception of national defense) could be done more efficiently with private contractors. The only reason I would hesitate to say that for even National Defense is because of the potential for subversion and using them against the people. But that potential exists even when Government controls the armies.
For anybody who believes as Doc does that privatization wouldn’t work, just read this Free online book and expand your horizons:
        http://mises.org/books/newliberty.pdf

      • Vicki

Just a casual reminder our forefathers were dead set against a standing army. EVERYONE (well originally every able bodied male) was to be proficient at arms and would be called out to enforce the Constitutional law of the land.

That is our protection against foreign invaders and domestic enemies. Unfortunately due to several factors but mostly the brainwashing of the progressives (Gun-culture is bad et all) way way too many of those able bodied folk are no longer able to uphold their duty.

There are ~220 MILLION adults in the US. http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/2084770?ref=W_Ask&utm_source=Ask

        Vicki
I read some where that when obumer took office that gun sales where 300 million and there was a supply shortage and a long wait.

      • Vicki

There was a noticeable spike in gun and ammo sales after the election in 2008. I doubt however that all 220 million Americans all decided to exercise their God given right to defense.

      • Cawmun Cents

Bout a hunerd million of ‘em dont even know how to hold a gun.’Cept what they been taught by watchin’ Hollywood movies.(spits)

      • Cawmun Cents

As I stood in line at the local sporting goods store in Oct.2008,there were twelve people buying firearms. Most of them were purchasing hand-guns of the self loading kind.Personally I dont own one because of the tendency to jam.I was there at the time buying a Benelli shotgun, because(I already own a Mossberg,Remington, and Winchester)and the Super Nova caught my eye.Twelve people purchasing firearms, waiting to be screened. But as I talked to the man who regularly sells me ammunition,he stated rather bluntly that this had been a slow day in the past few months, for gun sales. To make this a further indictment of oddity,I live in a big California city.So I cant say know how the rural folks reacted, but the city-folk was arming themselves. Funny thing is most of those who were purchasing that day were white women. There were only three men there purchasing weaponry.May be that I came in with the stragglers…haw!

      • Cawmun Cents

yeah those congressmen and senators worked their asses off to build those roads, the citizenry had nothing to do with it,right?

    • bob wire

and government is what provides birth certificates and hall of records. Government recovers, does a search for cause of death and family and then buries all the dead and unclaimed bodies that show up everyday.

without this “less then attractive” service of government it would be up to you and I to do or not do, permitting the birds and ants to have a nice meal.

This demonizing of government by Tea Party leadership has planted seeds of contempt on fertile ground. You fit a profile they pander too and make you their puppet to affect their will.

And how might such a profile read? The disillusioned, perpetually, unhappy cynic that was one of the fortunate few American that did well for themselves with the changes made in the Reagan years and now much older sitting on a small pile of loot while these same forces Reagan unleashed now come to claim it?

      Solent Green is people.

      • Patty

Bob Wire – WHAT??? Gov’t. does not do any of that! They keep statistics. Birth Cerificates point of origin is a hospital who with regulations must report the birth to the all tracking gov’t. Private sector buries people. They are called funeral homes. None of which is paid for by our gov’t. They just charge us to track it. You are delusional and have drunk way too much of the kool-aid.

      • TIME

        Patty,
Yes saddly Bob has his highs and lows. But he maintains a constant display of the “what ever” mind set.

Whats so bloody sad is if the Government fails to tell them to get up in the morning I fear what may happen, or perhaps that may be a good thing!

      • bob wire

Right! that why I “make the time to talk to thick heads” ~ I’m attempted to talk you folks down from that loft perch before you fall and bust your assets. If the shooting ever does start, I have spend many hours, listened to you and tried all reason, let the chips fall where they may.

Sure ! I need someone to tell me what to do and how to think! That’s why I’ve been self-employed since 78 and paying taxes since 62. I need somebody like you guys to explaining things, wake me up and put me to bed!

Is that what you think TIME???????????? good god, all mighty!

I severed my country purely in simple honor of family history and blind faith in the notion of what America stood for,” Liberty and Justice for All” so ~ I could be here today so you nice, intelligent, loyal patriots can explain it to me with all your collective insight and wisdom?

Boy did I waste my time or what? ~ I’m really beginning to wonder.

Really, it’s clear ~ I’m wasting my time here, time I could devote to more worthy endeavors. I given you hours of my life and have given me slurs and insults.

I know what you are about now, what drives you, who funds you and many of your objectives. Some of you are very bright and if as a nation we could use hindsight and go back 100 years and reshape somethings it would serve us well to make some changes.

But that’s not the nature of time.

My business is picking up and I’ve ignore my violin study for some time now. I’m going to return to what I enjoy most, making sweet music, money and love , as it clear there is none of that here.

fare well to all, I shall do the worst thing I can possibly do to you and leave you to ~ yourselves.

      • Michael J.

        bob wire,
It’s hard to criticize a man who writes his own obituary. I imagine that after three days you will roll back the stone and rise again like the self proclaimed left wing messiah your mind has conjured up.

      • bob wire

Who do you think control it Patty and who pays for it ~ when no one volunteers? “Government” does. We all do, with tax money and government. ~ Hospitals do keep records many reason, being smart is just one. ~ The County keeps records as well and paid for with Tax revenue dollars.

Don’t go thick on me, you know it is so and there no need to argue about such simple things.

If you are of mature age and lives a life, married, bought houses, raised children, worked, or been self employed you should also know government is everywhere you turn! I hate it TOO! but I not going to completely stupid and think everything in La La land would be wonderful if government might just disappear. ( many times, I too wish that it would)

      • Vigilant

“and government is what provides birth certificates…”

Well thanks, Bob, now we know where to go to get Obama’s birth certificate. Of course, government hasn’t done too great a job of doing that so far, have they?

      • bob wire

Check with the County Hall of Public Records which is operated and maintained by citizens tax revenue dollars of that county. Have you looked? it should be on file there as a matter of public record, a virtue of local government.

Yes sir! I “pander” to the principles of individual freedom, limited government and “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness!” Jefferson, Washington, Franklin, Paine, Adams, Madison, et. al., all “panderers” to the same principles. Not bad company, I’d say.

Talk about insufferable and sanctimonious! Get a life, Bob.

      • Vigilant

Still here? Talk about the long goodbye…

      • Patty

Bob wire – It started a lot further back then that. Try FDR, and then we get those that come in and triple down on that line of thinking, then things get really bad and they elect a couple of republicans that rein it in, and the cycle continues……

      • Vicki

        Bob wire writes:
“This demonizing of government by Tea Party leadership has planted seeds of contempt on fertile ground.”

Government demonizes itself by going far far beyond the limits of the law of the land. Add to that little deals like “Project Gunrunner” and stopping oil drilling by American companies and you have fertile ground for most any seed of distrust to grow.

There are MANY more examples. Just ask any liberal about all the evils of President Bush. Now there is a case of demonization.

    • spitfire

It will take a civil war to do that! Are you ready to put it all on the line? I’am, but most people are not.

      • bob wire

If you you search history and you need not go back any farther then 150 years ~ this cankerous wanker usually takes 2 to 4 years to create a flash point to ignite civil war.

    • bob wire

He didn’t say when Jeff. By days in, he will have done so. He got you 38 today, that’s a good start.

      • Robin from Arcadia, IN

bob wire… I agree. I think if the government would have shut down, the Republicans would have been blamed. By avoiding this, we stand a better chance of getting more of the Dems out next election. I think it is a good start. We will just have to see what happens this next go around!

      • DaveH

Time will tell, but my observation is that Boehner is a weak-kneed RINO who will do only what he thinks is necessary to get him reelected. The Republicans (with the exception of a handful) haven’t got the will for the real cuts which would involve their sacred cow — the military.

      • Patty

Remember this budget could have been passed 6 months ago without a single Republican vote and with NO cuts whatsoever. This is not speaker Boehner fault! This is squarely on the previous speaker of the house, the senate majority leader, and the president. Save the criticism for the 2011-2012 budget! If he stumbles on that budget, I hold him responsible. Not this budget battle.

      • spitfire

Actually Bob, I think they are just playing the numbers game again, as in the past. Cut here, and then raise it somewhere else. We the citizens just continue to get SCREWED. Like the recent news that the price of gas is because of the value of the dollar declining. Even when the dollar was strong the price of crude was going up. They know the American public, is generally naive, and stupid.

      • http://Illinois'17th Old Henry

No Bob. A TRILLION would be a good start.

      • bob wire

Well, with you for a Doctor the patient hasn’t a snowballs chance in hell of survival.

I’m not saying it can’t be done, I saying “that” abrupt of change in funding would start a chain reaction of event that you have yet to consider and actually “put money” out of our pockets.

What we seem to be making some attempt to pay for a 12 year unfunded war while cutting taxes over a 10 year period of time. In fact shift the burden for these wars away from the wealthy as they “appear to be” your hope for generating funds and jobs so the middle can carry the burden.

Quite a plan ~ smooth move EXLAX,

The “HOLY” cow seems to be the military, Social security and the wealthy.

I don’t know about you guys, but SS is holding 1.2 million dollars of my money and I don’t consider it an entitlement in any form or fashion but a agreed commitment and at 63 don’t trifle with me.

      • http://Illinois'17th Old Henry

Well, if we don’t cut about one trillion there is most certainly going to be an abrupt change in funding as the entire system goes up in smoke.

Watch that link Carlucci posted yesterday and you will fully realize why we are not only still in Bushy’s two wars but yet a third of Little Barry’s making. And after watching it you will realize the third is not Barry’s making.

Yep. SS is NOT an entitlement. It was theft at gun-point. I think FDR was a relative of Madof.

SS should not be cut as it is self-funding. Oh wait! Those thieving b*stards in DC have been stealing it blind for 50 years!

      • Kate8

Old H – SS, theoretically, should be self-funding, especially if enough of us die before we get much of it.

The problem is today, there are too many people drawing it and too few contributing into it. Plus, politicians feel free to dip into it for other things.

We just have to face the fact that our system is collapsing. Man never seems to learn that government cannot be the answer to life’s problems. There are always those who look to government as a parent.

      • bob wire

and on a side note; all debt is not bad is in the total scheme of things.

As I understand it, “43′s” administration went in, in 2000 with something like a 7.5 trillion national debt and managed to keep war cost off of the books and to one side.

The current administration has not used this practice of hiding war cost but does offer us a more realistic view in where we stand with budget matters.

I guess everyone remembers Ross and is PIE charts that he used as aids to explain the National debt to us all in his bid for President.

It was a big deal! Doom and Gloom permeated the land like a thick ugly ground cloud, tales of woe was all we could imagine. ~ Funny how quickly this cloud lifted and the sun came out again and all was forgotten.

I believe too many for you have got yourselves all lathered up and excited over simply “business matters” ,

I don’t expect you to believe me, but the SUN will Shine again.

Things are turning around now. ~finally!

The ground is being broken for the next wave of economic growth that’s to come our way.

I love the sound of diesel engines and the smell of new ground being broken. I can smell it and hear it now after 4 years of silence.

      • Patty

Digging mass graves for us is hardly a sign of progess. Figuratively speaking, of course.

      • JeffH

bob, I totally agree, 38 Billion is a start and much, much more than the Dems ever thought. I think the 2012 Ryan budget proposal is where we will find out who is willing to fight and who is looking for re-election. Time will tell which is something our(US)financial future doesn’t have a lot left.

      • http://! Angel Wannabe

jeffh, Totally Agree, Ryans got it going on!

      • Kate8

The thing is, it’s only $38Million less than Obama wanted for this year’s spending. It’s still a lot more than they spent last year.

    • CabotAR

@Jeff is probably correct. Once again, both parties have put on a stage play & then duped us. We fell for the drama & the govt. spent $53b the same week congress was cutting $38b for us.

Now is a good time to read a new book out about Americans finally taking a stand against our corrupt tyranny of govt. It’s about each of us ‘taking a stand’. Maybe, history is now showing us our true destiny in life. I recommend it.

      booksbyoliver.com

Also, Govt. Brown said yesterday that our country is divied as much as it was during the civil war. I tend to agree with that when I see unions fighting those that are suppose to be buying their new cars. And, teachers fighting the parents of their students.

Great article. Sides are being drawn & could erupt right after the presidential election nxt 11/2012 as it did in the civil war.

      • Patty

Yes. And just 200 years earlier we were fighting tyranny from England. War of 1812. Now we are fighting it from our own gov’t. History repeating.

      • Raggs

War of 1812?… we got our independance in 1776… The civil war was from 1861-1865…

      • TIME

        Raggs,
I could be wrong but as Patty has shown she understands the NWO quite well, thus it was the war of 1812 that we lost all the land holding of the US up to that point to the Rothschilds bank.
A little thing called a “loan” to war with the British.

You may have bought your home, and may even hold a title.
But you will note you are a “TENANT” not a land OWNER.
Just miss one TAX payment and you as a TENANT will have your home sold on the court house steps.
BTW – Thats the nice way of saying the land is really not yours.

      • Vicki

Not sold so much as rented to the next tenant. You can tell you are not the land owner by looking at who has the rights to the minerals under your feet.

Did you go to those two links posted by Carlucci yesterday, 4/11? The first was very informative. The second was beyound words. I did not time it, but would guess it runs about 90 minutes.

      • Patty

Old H – Yes I did. It was 1 hr 54 min. fascinating.

      • Warrior

The only reasons there are perceived divisions is because political party’s and frauds like Al Sharpton foster the whole concept!

    • Michael

Crybaby Boehner is just another RINO. Not sure who he bought to get re elected so often, but like so many others, he is now paying his debts. The Tea Party voters were sold a bill of goods, by most and the few who will stand for principles are too few to overcome the morass of good old boys and gals in the Republican Party. Not sure any headway will be made and not sure the true conservatives can get out enough votes in 2012 to truly change the guad.

  • http://www.diyyardandhome.com Dan

Round heals leads to too little too late to make an iota of a difference.

  • Warrior

This situation reminds me of the movie “caddyshack”. Let’s just refer to the whole congress as the members of “bushwood”. Now comes the new guy attempting to become a member, none other than Rodney Dangerfield, played by “The Donald”. Isn’t this whole charade just so much fun to watch?

    • bob wire

Good parody, when you think it can’t more absurd, it does.

I can’t imagine what Trump is up to. Obsessions of a powerful man and bright mind, ~ much like Howard Hughes

well let’s see if “all the kings horses and all the kings men” can satisfy the birth’er question. For now, the State of Hawaii has spoken on the matter.

      • Michael J.

        bob wire,
I don’t view Trump as highly as most. In fact I don’t think he could pass for a pimple on Howard Hughes’s dexterior. No, Trump’s gift is finding a niche, he’s found one in Obama’s lack of a legitimate birth document, Barry’s “Achilles’Heel” so to speak and “The Donald” will play it for all it’s worth.

      • karolyn

And screw himself and the Republican Party in the doing.

      • Vicki

Too late. The Republican party has been screwed since at least the breaking of the “Contract with America” if not before.

      • Cawmun Cents

Dont you mean since McCarthy failed to covince the nation to get rid of scumbag Communists?

      • Vicki

        Cawmun Cents says:
“Dont you mean since McCarthy failed to covince the nation to get rid of scumbag Communists?”

Communists have a right to their speech as well. They don’t have the right to take the power of government to force us to do what they want. That is why the Constitution lists the powers we are allowed to delegate to the government.

Had we adhered to the Constitution and had we taught the Constitution to our young the Communists would have not a chance of doing anything but rant.

      • Kate8

Michael J – I agree. I think Trump is out for publicity, and he is good at getting it. It’s a great gig to get ratings for his TV show, as ratings = money.

He obviously loves the attention, and he’s managed to bring the BC issue to the forefront, forcing even the MSM to acknowledge it.

      • Kate8
      • Carlucci

Wow – could they have trotted out a bigger geek (David Plouffe, —- who is that? Never heard of him) to interview? Just look at that supercilious superior smirk on his stupid arrogant face. And the lame stream media wonders why their numbers are so low.

The fact that the Donald is now front and center and won’t shut up is clearly bothering the powers that be, because now they are bringing out the big “ridicule Donald Trump” guns. Good thing the Donald has such thick skin. They must have forgotten that he is from NYC.

    • Carlucci

Great analogy, Warrior. But you left out the dancing gopher.

How does she think Nazi’s came into power? If an immoral political movement wants to succeed, it has to take small steps to acquire the necessary power before it reveals too much about its true intentions. That’s how the Nazi’s did it, and that’s how our Big Government advocates are doing it.

Jesse is right. We have given Big Government a free pass on obeying laws of morality for too long. It’s time to hold them accountable.

      • spitfire

What will you do Dave? Send them a scathing email? What is your plan for returning power to the people???? By voting??? LMAO that is a joke and they know it but you do not.

      • JC

        Spitfire…what then is your proposal?
Until there is a clear and present physical threat to our personal safety, voting and or protesting are the only non-violent options available to us.

        And here’s some unsolicited advice:
You might want to stop advocating violence unless of course you want to be one of the first people who find themselves waking up to a SWAT members boot on your chest.

As for me and I would venture to say, most of the country, I will reserve the right to defend myself, my family and my property with deadly force when and only when I am positive I’m facing an actual, present danger.

      • DaveH

        Spitfire,
You’re funny. But violence is not the answer. If the vast majority of people were aware that the Leaders are making fools of us, and they voted for the right people, and still the leaders ignored us, then maybe, there would be no choice. But that isn’t the case.
Before anything can happen, the vast majority of people must be wakened from their apathetic stupors. That is our task which is even more important than writing emails to our legislators.
A good start would be to encourage your acquaintances to watch John Stossel, and Judge Napolitano (Freedom Watch), and read websites like mises.org, cato.org, and reason.org to learn the truth about Big Government.

      • http://Illinois'17th Old Henry

        Carlucci::

Thank you for those two web links you posted yesterday! The article was very informational. The video was, ahhh, words escape me. I have been one of “those” people watching the NWO engineers for about 30 years, but what I learned from that presentation was mind boggeling.

I hope many, many others here took advantage of your posting. I emailed them to A LOT of folks and printed them out to hand out.

Once again, thank you so much.

      • Carlucci

Old Henry – You are so welcome and it was my pleasure. Hopefully getting the word out to as many people as possible to spread the word will give us all a chance. God bless you, and all of the other posters on this blog.

    • Vicki

Proof that ANYONE can have an opinion. No matter how useless.

  • Charles

When will the big spenders in Washington and at state levels, hear the cry of the American people??? There is a G_d in heaven watching this and to whom we all will some day give an account.

    • Michael J.

      Charles,
With due respect fellow patriot, this is not Huff-Po. If you mean to say GOD, then spell it out! By bowing to political correctness you become part of the problem.

      • http://! Angel Wannabe

        Hear Hear Michael J!

      • Kate8

Michael and Angel W – In all fairness, G_d is the traditional Jewish way to spell God. It is actually done that way out of supreme respect, not disregard.

I assume that was Charles’ intent.

      • Michael J.

        Kate8,
It is true that Jews spell God G_D, but it is questionable whether or not they do this out of respect.

Others have taken to this practice recently who definitely spell God that way out of blatant disrespect. Their remarks are in the same vein as changing Christmas to Xmas, thus removing Christ name. I am not a proponent of any religion, but would defend to the death people’s rights to practice any benevolent religion they choose. I believe following morally up-lifting, peaceful western style religions is the glue that holds together the moral fabric of this Republic and is exactly why political correctness is focused on destroying it.

BTW, I think Charles is a fellow patriot and meant no disrespect.

    • http://Illinois'17th Old Henry

      Charles:

They heard us. They just don’t care what we think, or want. They either snookered Boehner, or he is in on it and simply trying to put on a good show.

      • lkar

Hold your criticism of speaker Boehner for the 2011-2012 budget. This is 100% the Democrats fault. They could have passed this budget 6 months ago with no Republican votes and NO cuts whatsoever. The fact that Boehner got any cuts should be heralded as a victory (albeit small). This is the former house speaker, the senate majority leader, adn the presidents fault.

      • Carlucci

Not really. They are all terrible, whether dem or rino. The only truly fiscally conservative politicos serving right now are the Doctors Paul. Everybody else is grooving to the same old status quo song of politics as usual. They’ve all got to go (except for the Pauls). If you really want things to change, stop voting for incumbents, and stop voting for dems and rinos.

  • Jeff in OH

I think It’s a disgrace. Every one is cheering him, For What?? Did he even try to refund Obumer care? Did he defund anything? the answer is no. Not even ACORN. I’m sorry but I feel his sorry ass let us all down…

    • J.M.R.

I AGREE WITH YOU JEFF, HE NEEDS TO SEND OUT RESUMES AS I WILL NOT VOTE FOR HIM AGAIN

      • DaveH

I hope so. But I had high hopes that we would put the RINO McCain out to pasture here in Arizona, and those hopes were dashed (thanks partly to Sarah Palin).

      • Kate8

DaveH – I still think there was something wrong with McCain’s reelection.

I think McCain is like Harry Reid, Barbara Boxer…you get my drift. Permanent fixtures, with positions assured regardless of the vote. They are “insiders”.

    • lkar

See response above. Do not blame the Republicans! The Democrats could have passed a budget 6 months ago with NO cuts. The fact that there are some budget cuts should be heralded as a victory. Squarely place the blame on the previous house speaker, the senate majority leader, and the president! The Republicans are trying to clean up the crap they left behind.

  • Vigilant

$38 billion is less than 3% of the 2011 budget. Let’s hope it’s not a Pyrrhic victory.

    • Patriot

The figure is more like 1.5% not 3%, yes really, really bad! 3% out of this years budget would be around $75B, when they pledged they would cut over $100B, this is a far cry! Keep in mind that the $900B from the one time Stimulus (shovel ready projects) is still in this years budget. The starting point should have been $900B then the 3% off this, this is how these radicals change the debate and screw with the numbers. This budget should have been cut by $900B, plus the $109B that was thrown in the Obamacare bill (not sure how many people know about that one) then $38B, so $ 1.05 trillion would have been and should have been the staring point! Many of these people need to be thrown out of house, some should even be in jail! When the dollar collapses and it will we will all be in serious trouble! Throw the bumsp out the country is in serious financial trouble and these people do not care!

      • TIME

        Your dead on dude!

Lets see a $1.75 Trillion dollar budget, and everyone is happy with $38 Billion dollar cut.

WOW thats kind of like a flee hitting a Large Male Gray whale.

      • Bruce D.

1.75 should have been the starting point. The Dems are better negotiators to start at zero. I understand the outcome as the Republicans only control 1/3 of government but it was not a victory for conservatives in any sense of the word. It is little more than business as usual.

      • vicki

Or to put in to single family perspective. That 39 billion cut in a 3,600 billion spending spree is equivalent to a family that is spending $3000 a month deciding to cut spending. So they cancel their $32 a month cable tv bill.

To call that cut absurd is an insult to absurd things.

      • 45caliber

Can’t be the cable bill. That is one of the first requirements in this day and age. Even before beer.

      • http://Illinois'17th Old Henry

Whoa there 45! Cable BEFORE beer? Now that’s a real, real tough call.

How ’bout beer March – November and cable December – February.

Just call it a GOP compromise…

      • independant thinker

Beer was easy to give up it went straight to the belly. Now Jack Black on the rocks, that is a whole nuther matter.

      • lkar

That’s because the gutless Republicans can’t communicate a clear message to the American people (granted the media is stacked against them). Every Republican, every conservative, every tea party congressman should have been blaming the incompetence of the previous speaker, the current senate majority leader, and the president for not passing a budget 6 months ago! They should have been unruely and down right insulting to every opposition of the fact that they had anything to do with this budget. They should have flooded the news shows and sat alongside every Democrat and chided them and made fun of their hypocrisy. They should of corrected/interrupted (and I mean to the point of having their mics muted) every anchor and news pundit that tried to finger the Republicans for the potential government shutdown. The fact that there was any cuts should be heralded as a major victory!!! Even on this board we should be thankful as the lousy Democrats could have passed this 6 months ago without a single Rebulican vote and without a single budget cut! Do not be as ignorant as the liberals and call this action gutless. Let’s reserve criticism of the Republicans for the 2011 – 2012 budget.

      • Patty

I heard them on right wing talk shows only. They are damned if they do, damned if they don’t. The MSM vilifies them everytime they open their mouths and the sheeple swallow it hook, line and sinker.

    • DaveH

The 3% is in comparison to the deficit. In comparison to the actual federal spending it is about 1%.

    • EddieW

38 Billion is smoke and mirrors, and won’t even come close to that!!
If I truly have a set of values, and beliefs, and you do also, but yours is totally opposed to mine…How is it possible that we can compromise? Someone has to give up their integrity!! Congress is used to this, and has NO integrity!! Boehner cannot have much left either!! I know I cannot give up mine, so therefore if you can’t either…there can be no compromise between us!! I cannot compromise with a Liberal!! our belief systems are too far apart!! I have a liberal “friend” we agree on nothing…I sent him a copy of court papers to prove a point..He refused to believe it..BRAINWASHED!!! That is the definition of brainwashed…a mountain of evidence won’t convince him!!!

      • DaveH

And that is what we’re up against. Many people want to believe the Liberal Siren Song, and most of them won’t take the blinders off until they are suffering real pain. But by then, it will probably be too late to avert disaster. The best chance we have is to work hard to get the education choices of the children out of the propaganda schools and into the hands of their parents. That is paramount in our struggle to get our country out of the hands of the Socialists and back to Freedom.
