Ted Kennedy sought prostitutes, communists during 1961 visit to Latin America, watchdog group claimsThe late Ted Kennedy allegedly made arrangements to rent a brothel for a night while visiting Latin America in 1961, according to documents released by the nonpartisan public interest group Judicial Watch.

In June 2010, Judicial Watch filed a claim requesting full disclosure of a 1961 State Department memo after it had discovered that the FBI redacted most of the original information. The organization, which specializes in uncovering government corruption, pursued the rights granted by the Freedom of Information Act and relentlessly requested that the redactions be removed.

In the uncensored version of the report, Judicial Watch found that Kennedy — who was the Assistant District Attorney of Suffolk County Massachusetts in 1961 — allegedly made plans to rent an entire house of prostitutes in Santiago, Chile. Kennedy, who died in August of 2009, was a Massachusetts Senator for 47 years and brother of former President John F. Kennedy.

Furthermore, the documents claimed that during his 1961 trip, Ted Kennedy — whose brother was the President at the time of his visit — requested to meet with communists and other Latin Americans who had left-wing views.

"Our tough fight with the Obama administration shows that it was not keen on letting the American people know that Ted Kennedy, one of Obama’s leftist politician heroes, liked to hang out with communists and prostitutes,” said Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch. "We will continue to investigate why the FBI improperly chose to keep this information secret."

    Kennedy may be dead, but his friends (including Senator Lurch and Congressman Ed “Global Warming” Markey) have already connived to appropriate more than $68 million taxpater dollars for the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for th United States Senate. Isn’t it enough that we have presidential libraries and museums, that we have to start honoring members of Congress with multi-million dollar shrines. The last thing we need is a monument to the “Hero of Chappaquidick,” and the biggest dirtbag in the United States Senate. One can only imagine what an ideological agenda this “institute” will have. Teddy Kennedy did more than any Senator in the past 50 years to undermine this country and pursue his socialist agenda. His vitriolic speech during the Robert Bork confirmation hearings was one of the most despicable in American history. In character and intellect, Kennedy wasn’t fit to be in the same room as Robert Bork.

    I think the real lesson of this article is how much of what our PUBLIC servants do at our expense that is kept secret again at our expense. Is it any wonder that so many of us think the worst when time and time again we find out later that it was even worse than we thought. I don’t believe anyone can stand up clean when held under a microscope but the Kennedy’s prove that powere corrupts and the more power the more corruption. Will Kopeckne ever be freed from the lies?

His moment of decisions came one night in Massachusetts, when he left the scene of an accident, & allowed a young woman to suffocate in the small air pocket of a car he drove into a canal. In the end, he sat in a motel or hotel room, made calls to crony buddies, & he found excuses for why he did what he did, when he did it, & why he did not try to save her or to make emergency services calls to try to save her.
    We all have heard about the Kennedy boys’ propensity to seek comfort w/ women i n bed, whom they are not married to especially. And in truth, there are millions of men in America who do the same thing. Heck in today’s environment, there are many women who do this!! (I know, I know, that does not make it right!)
    That government officials are trying to protect his legacy should show us that they will do anything to protect one of their own. Within the federal bureaucracy, liberals abound & they function to push any & every liberal issue or cause. In this case, they want Americans to believe Teddy was a) one of them and b) was a true & pure public servant! Perhaps we should just forgive & forget. However, you cannot forget what they try to hide. But in addition…. if they will hide this, what else are they hiding from us & is the what else, dangerous to our survival?
    I suspect the answer is, they are hiding much & its all dangerous to our survival!

      The journalistic rule for biographies is that once someone dies you say nothing bad about them – for twenty five years. Then someone will come out with a tell-all book. That will go on for another 25 years. Then they will finally come out with a book that will show the real person, good and bad. When Bush was in 4.8% unemployment was a disaster, now 10% is OK and the economy is “out of the woods.”

It demonstrates how far the Left will go to perpetrate, conceal, and condone bad behavior, and it reveals a sense of what you can expect from others of their ilk. You may say that it’s guilt by association, but when one studies a species, one must look for commonalities of behavior to better understand the creatures. What we’re talking about here is new revelations about a clan member whose clan has been able to keep a lot of dirt covered up, perhaps with payoffs and intimidation, but certainly with the complicity of the liberal press. If you can show new revelations about G.W. instead of constantly repeating the same old talking points, then go for it. Even though I have been a conservative my entire life, I have not tried to cover up anything bad that G.W. or any other Republican has been responsible for, and I have made my objections public at the time of his transgressions. The blind denial of the Left with regard to their own idols is simply irrational.

    Claire, yes, other politicians have done stupid things, but that doesn’t excuse any of them. Funny though how Republicans are often either drummed out of office or leave on their own accord for having transgressed, while Democrats stick in there like gum in your hair, or, as I suspect for those who can’t keep their pants on, scabies in their privates. Everybody’s doing it doesn’t work for breaking ethical and moral codes any more than it works to tell the Highway Patrol officer that he can’t give you a ticket because everybody else is speeding, too. Americans forget it was nuclear deterrence alone that kept the USSR from directly assaulting the USA, now we face a very different game thanks to START 2, where we have to hope Russia is more concerned with competition from China, and oil is the key, namely depriving China of as much as possible to limit their growth, from ANWAR to Libya. Reagan isn’t the subject, so go somewhere else and leave the patriots alone to correct the course this country has taken, moron. Robert always talks about the “reich way.” Remember that Nazism was a socialist type of government, ergo very left of center. I don’t go left like you two. I don’t believe in brown nosing Obama bin Laden like you do. You also sound more like one with your stances on socialist issues (Manditory health care, abortion, etc.) and how you always attack religion (Usually Christians). You sound more like Hitler and Marx every week on these posts. Coal Miner, arming groups to take on the Soviets, yes they were Soviets back then and not Russians, isn’t treason. If it is, then we helping the underground in Europe would also be considered treason. Now, due to this technology, the Chinese and North Koreans have advanced their missile capabilities, now have the Jen 36 stealth fighter (China), and North Korea has nukes and missiles that can reach our west coast. Another thing, Bush may not have been our smartest president, but he always stuck to his convictions (A sign of a strong leader), but he’s a lot better than Obama bin Laden. Why don’t you ask the ones that seem to be leading him in what he does. You know, Bill Ayers, Soros, etc. He’s also a menber of the Bilderberg group with his partner Hillary. At least he can prove where he was born and where he went to school, unlike your “messiah” in the White House. Just like a lib to always mention Haliburton. Remember where they got their start by going overseas with our military? I surw wasn’t Iraq or Afghanistan, it was Clinton’s mess in Bosnia. A place we didn’t need to go. Clinton only went to support the muslims and gain some points in the Arabic community in America. You two nimrods are also wrong about the deaths in Iraq. It is true that there have been many deaths there, but most of them are committed by terrorists from Al Queda or other groups. We aren’t the ones wearing bombs on our bodies, nor are we the ones planting them in cars and setting them off at crowded places. You always talk about name calling, but you two do a lot more than I do. I suggest you take some of your own advise. You know what the patriots are saying on this site is true. Lastly, most people think badly about the U.S. not because of Iraq and Afghanistan, remember many of our allies went with us to these places too, but it is about how Obama bin Laden has been handling things.       It is important for the sake of history.

      We need to know the people who made history and if they were a negative, be able to watch out for similar people in the future inorder to avoid the circumstances they bring about and vice versa.

      And that is why History is needed to be taught in schools and why we need to keep up with current events.

    Wow 1961; everytime I bring up something about George Bush on this site I am chastised for bringing up ancient/irrelevant history. I guess even more ancient history is okay if it used against the other side AND uses possible information on alleged plans as opposed to actual events.

    As for meeting up with communist leaders; every President and many congressional leaders have met up with various communist leaders ever since World War II – it is called leadership.

    What an awfully slanted view this article provides.

      You are forgetting Ted’s letter offering assistance to the Kremlin in 1981-1982 time period when the USSR was preparing to attack (and nearly did Nov. 8, 1983), this shows his association with the enemy was probably established over two decades previous. And any secrets he touched in that time probably didn’t stay secret from the USSR.
      And yes, Bush had many faults, flaws and errors, but handing over our nuclear deterrence, toppling our allies and turning those countries over to radical islam (there is a nice youtube video of an attack by Egyptian muslims with tanks on a coptic church on youtube), were not among them, and neither was tripling the national debt and insisting on spending more borrowed money this year. Bush allowing the Fed to print more money was stupid, Obama allowing the Fed to print even more and monetize our national debt is insane.

      Ted Kennedy was always a bottom feeder in my book…he literally got away with murder when he was drunk out of his mind and ran his car off into the river and instead of helping the young lady with him, he left her to drown while he crawled like a snake back home to sober up before the authorities were called. His dad became rich as a maffia figure during prohibition. These people may be rich, but they certainty don’t deserve any recommendations as being nice people.

        I read a report by the sherrif of that county about a week after the death. The sherrif commented that he had witnesses that had seen them going through town about thirty minutes before the “accident”. Ted was in the back with the girl. Two other men were in front driving.

        Further, he stated that she had told several friends that she was pregnant by him. (He tried to have her body examined to determine that but her family was paid $50,000 to not have it done.) She told them that she had told him that if he didn’t divorce his wife and marry her, that she was going public and ruin his campaign. He told her to give him two weeks. She was all excited about being his new wife. That was about four or five days before she died in the accident.

        The sherrif was asked to resign for his statement to the press.

      Sorry doc, the history of what a person does influence decisions later on, the problem is that it can go either way the person might have an aversion to bad decisions or go with them. The person in this case is one of the left wing gods. Not ted (he had his own problems including at least man-slaughter that was covered up) but his brother JFK. He started the war (WWII) in England (father at court of St. James) was caught passing information to the germans (a women of course) in the 1950′s was caught doing the same with a female agent of (I believe) the NKVD. In the end some people learn from their mistakes some dont most of it is opinion from someone not in a position to know the complete story unlike our subject JFK and his family (who many seem to have a very sorid history indeed)

    Gee, the number of people who think Kennedy didn’t walk on water is growing? Even if old Ted did seek out sidewalk stewies and try to rub shoulders with commies, it might make for an interesting read, but old Ted is gone.
    It would be better to make the case for der Obummer to be shown as a commie sympathizer (or worse). He’s already got a head start, and it’s no coincidence that being a community organizer has much in common with being a closet commie.
    When old Ted was in France, I’m told that one of his ‘dates’ included a session with a woman in a boat on the ocean. The word got back to Congress, and a southern senator said that old Ted seemed to have changed his position on ‘offshore drilling.’ I realize that times change, but I still can’t believe that sex on the high seas is one of the percs that elected types deserve.
    I fail to see how cavorting makes a better politician. Isn’t that like getting paid to get laid while you screw America at the same time?

      It complicates his later treasonous letter to the KGB, which can’t be called just a “spur of the moment” olive branch after 20 years of being in bed with communists. If you judge people or policies by the company they keep, then what is happening to our country since 2008 can be no surprise.
