We’re No Longer A Virtuous Nation

Reports out of Wisconsin indicate that physicians are defrauding the State — and therefore the taxpayers — by issuing fake medical excuses to teachers to give them cover for their “sickout” protests over the governor’s proposals to combat the State’s budget shortfall.

These fake medical excuses will cost the state upwards of $6 million, if press reports are accurate.

If physicians are indeed handing out fake excuses, those doctors need to be fined heavily and their licenses to practice should be revoked or suspended. But don’t count on it happening. Fraud is a hallmark of the government and the medical community, and the act of giving out fake excuses is but an extension of the corruption that infests mainstream medicine. And that’s a fraud perpetuated by the government through the Food and Drug Administration.

Beyond that, it represents a breakdown in our society’s moral compass, which is a direct result of statist and godless policies pushed by progressives and socialists.

In a letter to James Warren on Feb. 12, 1779, Samuel Adams wrote:

“A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they lose their virtue then will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader.”

Can there be any doubt that we are no longer a virtuous nation?

    Congress controls the purse strings of the federal government as do each of the state legislatures. As for school levies, the local “voting” citizens do. Become a self thinker people, vote “NO” on ALL future levies. Get out the vote by talking to your voting age family members, neighbors, acquaintances and friends. Become proactive. Hit the school districts where it hurts them the worst-their pocket books. Any item that means money in their pockets vote NO! Only vote for a levy for building upgrades or replacement but nothing to do with employees and benefits. Vote any state or federal legislator out of office that does not tote the line. If that person states they are a moderate, vote the sucker out of office. NOTE: No legislator says one word about state/federal employee benefits but they are quick to bring up Medicare and Social Security. How many of you know that federal legislators gain full benefits only after being in office for FOUR years? How about your state legislators? Put their feet to the fire. If they are not responsive, fire them at the next election. As for B.O., fire this non-Christian one-worlder. Though he claims to be a Christian, he is not. He does not follow biblical tenents nor God’s Law. He is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. How can anyone who belonged and attended church for 20 years not know the leanings and preachings of their pastor? As the good federal legislator from Wisconsin said, “He lies.” It was backed up, more or less, by a U.S. Supreme Court Judge when he shook his head. People, it is time for each of us to step up to the plate and see that we do not let our Forefathers’ legacy down.

    Samuel Adams statement, wisdom that lasts through the ages and will come back to haunt the people of this nation, unless we use it to forestall the calamity and danger it predicts.

    In regard to MDs writing excuses for teachers, etc as reported, this constitutes fraud and malpractice on this count. If these MDs bill the patients’ insurance company this is not only fraud they are implying they rendered an appropriate examination to come up with a diagnosis. The insurance company(s) billed can come back not only on the MD but on their customer, the teacher, for fraud and for using the USPS/Internet to commit this act. If the insurance companies do not respond on this mass action they become accessories. They can and should loose their license to sell insurance in the state. Not only should this bring in the state attorney general but the state insurance commissioner. Signed: former doctor now retired

    Bob, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that the unions, teachers and “doctors” in Wisconsin find a way to put their fuzzy heads together and decide that the state of Wisonconsin owes these people a BONUS for being “patriots.”
    In this case, it could be that it’s better to be out of the classroom. It’s better to be away from elected duties. It’s better to write illegal excuses for those who violate moral and legal contracts.
    By the way, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Wisconsin students will now have to learn about the history of labor unions in their classrooms. Praise Lenin and pass the paychecks! Crime does pay!

    I am saddened when viewing what is going on in our country. We are rapidly becoming a nation of whiners, entitlement holding, egotistical, closed minded people and it amazes and hurts my spirit.
    How can the people of Wisconsin not figure out who is truly going to pay for all of the demands they are making? THEY and WE are!! No concessions they gain are free, someone, somewhere pays for them and I have no desire to pay more for a state worker’s perks. Don’t anyone tell me that, as Obama says, we must all tighten our belts to bring our country together. BS My 72 yr old husband and I, at 66, after the house payment is made LIVE on $1200. per month. That’s for food, lights, phone (yes, we could do without) gasoline, etc. I challenge very many out there to do the same,,,,maybe some state employees somewhere?
    I still work, am a serious heart patient but must work, not only for the dollars but medical. I feel fortunate and grateful to even have my job and I enjoy it and that’s another thing we are lacking in our country. Feeling fortunate and grateful but we’d better change or we will continue up the chute line to the kill floor and never even know it.

      Wow Mary! You said that well! I agree with all of it. If I found my doctor was one who wrote out sick slips for those who didn’t go to work, I wouldn’t be using that doctor again. I want one who has ethics and standards. Those who wrote out fake sick slips have neither! And that goes for those elected officials who scattered to avoid doing their jobs. Both are horrible examples to children, along with the teachers who didn’t do their jobs!

    I have realized the dangerous erosion of virtue for several years now. My biggest concern was that Americans don’t even know what the word ‘virtue’ means any more. So, I tried an experiment. I asked several people, including my son, under the age of 30 to define the word, ‘virtue.’ The results were shocking – more so the younger the respondent. None had a clue what our Founders understood the word to mean.

    Rather than reciting my results, I challenge all who read this to duplicate my experiment. You will learn more about your younger friends and relatives than you thought you already knew. You will be shocked as well.

    Saw an article about Providence,Rhode Island giving layoff notices to ALL teachers due to pending layoffs and union rules mandating notices by March 1st. Number of layoffs tbd. Layoff the 5-6000 in Wisc. and/or fire any who
    refuse to report to work. There are plenty of people with 4yr degrees that would/could do there job. I wonder how many current teachers would welcome the end of union rule.
    As to the doctors, investigate and prosecute for fraud,etc. As to the Wisc. democrats who ran away, fire them too. Funny how when Odumbo-care passed, the Dems didn’t complain about lack of debate.

    It trully seems that there are no limits to the methods of the progressives to get their own way! All the while they are spewing that it the Conservatives that are corrupt.
    We have George Soros, a person(?) of Jewish desent, who worked with the Nazis against his own people calling the Wisconsin Conservatives Nazis
    Just yesterday we saw Obama declare that a LAW,signed oddly enough by a previous progressive President, was unconstitutional! He appearently feels himself the dictator now and no longer needs the Surpreme Court!
