Bloomberg Calls For Federal Action On Gun Laws Following Arizona Investigation

February 3, 2011 by

Bloomberg calls for Federal action on gun laws following Arizona investigationNew York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has called on Congress to tighten Federal laws that allow individuals to purchase firearms without a background check. His statements followed a recent probe in which city investigators, who posed as consumers, were able to purchase firearms at a gun show in Phoenix.

According to media reports, undercover video footage reveals that one of the investigators was able to buy a gun after telling a private seller that he likely wouldn't pass a background check. Arizona law says that private gun merchants are not required to run background checks. However, if the seller "has reason to believe" a customer is barred from buying weapons, they are prohibited from completing a sale, according to The Huffington Post.

On Jan. 31, Bloomberg said that the investigation proves that Federal gun control laws are ineffective at keeping weapons out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer defended her state's regulations, and said that she is considering legislation that would further loosen the current policies. According to the Arizona Daily Star, Brewer admitted that she did not see the investigation video but said that the state's laws are "fair and just."

"We're strong people in Arizona," said Brewer, quoted by the media outlet. "We believe in the Constitution, and we certainly support the 2nd Amendment."

Can you spell “SET UP”?… The seller at this gun show was an inflitrator , a plant… I have an idea… why don’t bloom ( ing idiot ) berg move his sorry ass to china where the citizens cannot own firarms to protect themselves against politcians like him.

    • 45caliber

Raggs – he can’t do that! He can’t own his own guns there! He’s not after all guns … just yours and mine.

  • Lray

WoW! New York must be the best run city in the country. They aren’t running in the red likes most cities and can afford to spend a 100 grand in tax money for this nonsense. New Yorkers must be really proud of their elected official that are so carefully spending their tax dollars. Also if these people that bought the guns have not registered them are they not braking the law??? LET ALONE the ENTRAPMENT!!!

  • Michael

Mr Bumberg you should be run straight out of our country due to your complete disregard for our constitution. You sir took a oath to protect the very thing you are trying to take from us. OUR CONSTITUTION IS LAW. Your actions have been border line treason and the punishment for treason is DEATH. Stand by us or leave this country!! We do not need your opinions to tell us right from wrong WE KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. I sir am a Marine Vet and quite frankly I will defend my country again against foes such as you.
    Defend the constitution or leave!!!!

  • Pete0097

I wonder what they did with the guns after they left the show. Did they throw them away? Did they sell them to someone else? Did they keep them and take them home? Did they give them to homeless people? Did they give them to the police to dispose of?

    • 45caliber

Did they even buy them? Or was that faked just for the pictures?

  • Rich1776

Mayor Bloomberg has it wrong again… first the “Ground Zero” Imam and now more Federal gun legislation. This is typical of progressive response to problems… “if something is failing, just make another Federal law!” The government should solve all problems. Why not take this issue to the UN, Mayor?? Or the IMF? Maybe a “new world governance” can solve our problems??

Mayor, how about simply enforcing the law that exists in Arizona. The investigator discovered that one vendor violated the Arizona law. And you conclude we need new laws? How about a call to prosecute the violator of the existing law?

Mayor, your rhetoric is just more of the same old school thinking. Our country needs new leaders with bold thinking about doing legislation right not doing something “we must pass so that we can understand it later.”

    Thanks. But NO THANKS!

    • independant thinker

“How about a call to prosecute the violator of the existing law?”

The so called violator was probably a plant by Bloomberg with instructions to offer to sell the gun no matter what he was told bu the prospective buyer.

  • Robert

Mike Bloomberg should stay in NY and mind his own business. If he is such a great mayor and has all of the answers why isn’t NY city the safest and greatest place on earth? Does anyone think he is going to give up his security people who I am sure are well armed. Most of us can’t afford a private security force and do not have one provided to us at the tax payer expense.

  • Mike Gibson

Bloomberg bought his election like most politicians do. I heard someone say “he is a wild hair in an armpit”. What an idiot. His city residents should sue him for using their taxes to do the so-called investigation.

  • JimH

There was a time when you went to the sporting goods store and you bought a gun and a box of shells and took it home right then. In Illinios you show a FOID(fire arms owner identification) card, there is a call to the state police for a background check, and a 24 hour wait for rifle and shotgun, 72 hr for handgun. Since all this was implemented the crime rate has NOT gone down. In Chicago where the laws are more stringent, the rate has gone up. I keep hearing about “common sense” gun laws, but I haven’t seen any yet. Hindering the law abiding citizen won’t stop the criminal or insane.

    • Patsy

Thank you for your statement and especially for your service to our country.

  • Jack

I would like to tell that DipShit little mayor Bloomberg to keep his stupid fly catcher closed. It is none of his business what any other state or city does in regards to anything. This idiot is possessed with his own self importance. He should worry about his own crime ridden city and work on snow removal. They undoubtedly use Enron accounting techniques to report NYC crime statistics.

    • http://MSN Mike

Right on Jack, the people where so upset with the snow removal(lack of it) that Bloomberg had to have gun control to protect himself!!

  • hoffhack

Mayor Blumberg, do us a favor. Yes, you have the people of New York City and the surrounding counties under your “JACK BOOT” A citizen cannot even get an application for a Pistol license in NYC (unless they are a bonifide democrat, and politcal Pal of his) Even if you go through the un-believeable hassel to get a Licence, (I know, I lived there for 55 years) you cannot carry it except TO AND FROM THE PISTOL RANGE!!!!! AND IN NYC, IT HAS TO BE UN-LOADED AND IN A LOCKED BOX!!! It sounds bizzar, but those are the facts! I never did get a chance to ask the guy that robbed me on the subway platform in Brooklyn, why he did not have his gun in a “Locked Box” And if I had my gun with me, and shot the S.O.B., they would have locked me up! Then, even if the guy got arrested and went to trial, you have “JURY NULIFICATION” IF THE VICTUM IS WHITE, AND THE CRIMINAL IS ANY THING OTHER THAN WHITE, THEY LET THEM WALK! OR THEY WIND UP WITH A SLAP ON THE WRIST AND MAYBE DO A YEAR, AND THEY ARE RIGHT BACK AT IT!! THANK GOD I LIVE IN FLORIDA NOW, AND CARRY 24/7, AND THE ONLY THING I FEAR IS NUMB SKULLS WHO THINK LIKE “MAYOR BLUMBERG!” How come nobody asked why the so called investigator was not arrested. If he knew he could not pass a background check, then buying the gun was a Felony! And if he was put up to it by Mayor Blumberg, that is a Felony too! Hey Mike! Stay in New York and keep out of our business in “Real America!”

    • http://att Shirley

I agree if the Mayor and his gang broke the law why aren’t they being charged?

      • Dan az

        Shirley
Our laws here are what they really are complaining about the law states that Federal law requires anyone buying a gun from a licensed dealer to undergo a background check, but that requirement does not apply to sales by individuals who aren’t dealers. Arizona’s law won’t change that.

  • http://google SUNBUM

I AGREE WITH HIM – LETS SLOWLY PASS LAWS ON GUN OWNERS TILL, FINALLY WE HAVE, UTOPIA! HOW MANY KNIVES KILL PEOPLE EACH YEAR? A FORK IN THE EYE, POISON, STONES, STICKS, HELL, WHY STOP WITH GUNS? WE SHOULD ALL BE FORCED TO BUY A BOX & FORCED TO LIVE IN IT. WHY NOT, FOR PROTECTION?? ARE YOU NOT BEING FORCED TO BUY HEATH INSURANCE. MAN! I LOVE THIS UTOPIA!!! I GUESS THIS IS HOW IT’S SPELLED; I WASN’T RED LINED. GO LIBS!!

    • always right

outlaw boots. boots are used to kick people in the heads.
And since Draconian laws works so well, I guess we have no killings nor rapes in prisons, since shivs and rape are illegal. Funny how that works: even in prison criminals can get weapons & drugs & still commit crimes.

      • eddie47d

Criminals are not criminals until they get caught so they could indeed buy a weapon legally. That means they could do alot of damage after buying that weapon at least until he would get apprehended. At that point he would be branded a criminal.

      • http://?? Joe H.

Now eddie wants to become the thought police!! The man MIGHT commit a crime so we have to outlaw guns.

      • Dan az

Joe I saw that movie does that mean eddiee wants to be tom cruise?

      • JC

        Communist.

      • eddie47d

Fascist liar! You killed that cat yet.

      • http://?? Joe H.

Geesh there goes eddie trying yet AGAIN to get JC to kill someones pet! Eddie, get some help, dude!!!

      • independant thinker

I do not remember eddie ever voicing his opposition to any gun control measure that has been proposed and discussed on this site he always favors them.

      • eddie47d

I support most laws that work and if they don’t work then get rid of them. If gunshows are a problem and you don’t want laws then let’s get rid of gun shows. You can make this difficult or rather easy.

  • J Proci

Michael Bloomberg, you reside in NYC, you should stay in NYC. As a former resident of NYC, I can honestly tell all people, NYC is nothing more than a human zoo. The gun laws there are for the criminals. They are not for the law abiding citizen/s.

    • Dave P

I always thought Bloomberg went against the voters’ wishes and ran for a 3rd term because he actually felt he is indispensible. Now, after the Virginia operation and threats of prosecution, I’d hoped he would smarten up and just be the mayor of NYC. We certainly have enough problems here to keep him busy full-time. The reality is, I think he really wants to be the head of the ATF, since he keeps trying to do their job. I truly hope that next time he pull this crap, his secret agents get locked up (what they did IS a crime) and the locals indict him for conspiracy. He SHOULD be trying to keep NYC criminals from getting guns and let Arizona do the same; I’m sure they are quite capable without Bloomberg’s “help”.

  • Ed

    R
His policies really work well for NYC; just look at their FBI crime statistics. Lets export them to the rest of the nation and achieve the same standard!

  • http://aol.com sean murrey

i dont pay any mind to him he is out of his mind he is like the rest of the commies that want to disarm us the only time you get my gunsc is from my cold dead hands you punk.

  • Charles Dobbins

Since Bloomberg is trying to do so much good, should he also try to get a ban against rocks in Egypt and cars and trucks in the US since they are injuring and killing so many.

Absolutely no common reasoning with these type of elected officials. He needs to be booted out in the next election.

    • Doctor XIV

      CHARLES DOBBINS!

      THUMBS UP!

“Since Bloomberg is trying to do so much good, should he also try to get a ban against rocks in Egypt”

ROFLMAO!!!! Genius, Sir! I forgot about the original murder case. It was the ROCK that killed him! BAN ALL ROCKS!! I want tougher ROCK laws!!

    • always right

WHEN ROCKS ARE OUTLAWED, ONLY OUTLAWS WILL HAVE ROCKS

  • Doug

Well you know if you wanted buy a gun from from someone other than a gun dealer because you were a criminal or mentally ill this would really stop that. Liberals really can’t think just like the war on drugs stop people from buying drugs to because it illegal.

And thats a great idea lets make any govt. employee pass a drug test and a lie detector and have a complete back ground check. The Govt does such a great job at this that why we have and illegal allien sitting in the president seat!

And look at NY they really run a tight ship there don’t they!

    • Doctor XIV

LOL! Only laughing because this resembles something from a Three Stooges movie. (Bloomber, Reid and bo).

When Reagan was shot, did he call for more draconian gun laws? How about Jefferson (I know her wssn’t shot). Gotta wonder about Lincoln, though, Hmmmm? Since the ONLY way to assassinate him was by gunshot. Nope, couldn’t have been anything else. Couldn’t have been a knife, poison, TNT, getting run over by a team of horses, fire, drowning. Those things didn’t exist in 1865.

The important thing to consider: both Bloomberg and Lincoln’s assassin have/had very tiny brains with NO imagination or sense of reality.

I won’t argue about Lincoln’s willingness to have 600,000 Americans slaughtered to “save the union.” It wasn’t about slavery. Congress could’ve passed the Amendment BEFORE the Eman. Proc.

ANYWAY – back to the point: As mentioned above, we really should have background checks before anyone is allowed to run for public office. You can find many examples of EXACTLY THAT in the charters/Constitutions of the original 13 states.

OH, yea , cars. I totally forgot to make cars illegal! They kill more people each year than guns.

Sharks….lightening. Now these are REAL killers. They should be banned. And morticians. And terrorists…no, no, can’t ban them, that would violate their civil rights. Even if they are illegal aliens (not like E.T.), we cannot violate their rights, even if their transcript has courses like “Pipe Bombs 101,” Sniping in High Income Areas,” “747 Simulator Training,” and my favorite, “Hacking the National Defense Files for Fun and Profit.”

The world has, indeed, gone mad.

      • TIME

Doc Dude, LMAO, Great post! Thanks I really needed that.

      • JC

And Doc? What about Doctors? We’re about 9 times more likely to be killed by a Doctor than an illegal gun.
Guess we should outlaw those too eh? LOL

      • Dan az

        JC
        That’s a fact!

  • AnhydrousBob

    The article said:
“On Jan. 31, Bloomberg said that the investigation proves that Federal gun control laws are ineffective at keeping weapons out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill.”
How right he is, if he would just listen to his own words. Does he think different laws would help? Of course he does.
Let’s see, how does the saying attributed to Einstein go: “Doing the same thing, and expecting different results is insanity”

  • 1minuteman

maybe bloomberg is trying to take the focus off his muslim mosque at ground zero by joining the liberal bash party against arizona. they never pass up on a chance to trash the constituion.

    • eddie47d

How Did they trash the Constitution? Breaking the law to sell guns is just that. Buying a gun legally is only a slight burden so why do you endorse those who skirt the law. 63% of those sellers were willing to sell to a criminal so who’s side are you on. Some of those sellers said “it didn’t matter to them”. It’s like someone breaking into your home and steals your TV. Then that person goes to the flea market and there he is selling that TV. He broke the law and making money off of it. Some Americans are tired of both scenario and a gun dealer who breaks the law is no hero.

      • Bruce D.

Eddie unless you live in Arizona you should keep your mouth shut. It is none of your business what they do there. They can take care of themselves without your help. The last thing they need is another do gooder trying to tell them how to run their state. You and Bloomberg are another example of why States Rights are necessary.

      • Al Sieber

eddie, so now the guns are stolen? come on, are you against private parties selling guns also? Bloomberg needs to stay out of my state. eddie, you must love living in N.Y..

      • eddie47d

Bruce; I didn’t know you live there. It’s not important whether you live in Arizona or not.You rather proved Bloomberg’s issue on all the loose State laws and how easy it is to buy and transport guns across State lines. There are 500 other mayors on board with him so it’s not only an issue with NYC. He’s only your scapegoat but he is willing to take the heat in dealing with lax gun trafficking.

      • Bruce D.

I don’t buy what your selling Eddie. Arizonia is a long way from New York. Your logic would have been more in your favor if Bloomberg was investigating NJ or Connecicut. The left are interested in banning guns and their plan is to do that in increments. The right to bear arms is under a constant assault from the left. I am not from AZ but they are trying to defend the country from illegals and libreral leftest policies. I have a duty to defend them and we all should be giving them support in anyway possible, especially public opinion which means a lot in this age.

      • marvin

        eddie47d
more gun control great idea mexico has one mexican citizens can not own or have one so only ones with guns are cops and crooks and it is hard to tell who is who i have a better idea on gun control practice shooting tell you can hit what your shooting at 10 out of 10 times and blumburgler can stay out of alabama and arizona we don,t need people with more money then brains

      • eddie47d

There is a Mayor in Alabama who supports this Mayors’ coalition.

      • eddy james

name the 500 mayors! name 50 of them.there are at least twice that many who would rather see Bloomberg drop dead.

      • independant thinker

“63% of those sellers were willing to sell to a criminal so who’s side are you on.”

How long did it take you to make up this number. The article said ONE seller was possibly willing to sell them a gun it says nothing about how many other potential sellers were at the gun show or how many they talked to.

      • always right

EXACTLY 0% of those sellers “sold to a criminal”, at least from a liabilty standpoint. The NYNY shills were in fact, felons, for possessing & presenting false Az. ID, but the sellers had no way of knowing that. Bloomingidiot should be prosecuted for conspiracy for having his shills acquire and present false AZ ID.

      • independant thinker

        Exactly.

      • eddie47d

Now you are making stuff up. Of all the sellers at this gun show 63% of those confronted would be willing to sell to someone who says they want a gun for an illegal purpose. You should watch the full video. Not all gun sellers were approached so it could have been 63% of 10 dealers or maybe 20. It certainly wasn’t one seller who got caught.

      • Dan az

        Edward
Do you know what our laws are here or what our state constitution says on this matter?
Federal law requires anyone buying a gun from a licensed dealer to undergo a background check, but that requirement does not apply to sales by individuals who aren’t dealers. Arizona’s law won’t change that.
So the fact remains that you need to research before you make hypothetical statements that you have no clue on what your saying!

    • Dogma-Free ‘The Trinity’

@1minuteman – I thought you people were all for religious freedom in America…or is that only for *certain* religions…?

      • JC

“you people”?….just another bigot mouthing off….

  • http://personallibertydigest Frank

Didn’t this piece of excrement from new york get into trouble doing this nonsense in Virginia and wasn’t he also told that if he or some of his investigators did this again, they’d be charged? I believe that states atty. general advised him of this; not to mention the atf as well because of possible ongoing investigations.
Yeah new york city, you got a real piece of work for a mayor. By the way, how much did bloomberg pay to be able to run again? Just asking!

    • independant thinker

You are correct. In fact if I remember correctly virginia passed a law specificaly prohibiting Bloomberg’s type of actions. If his henchmen go there again they will likely spend time in a Virginia prison.

    • eddy james

Good point! I wonder how he got the city council to change a law limiting terms of office that was put into place by the people of New York? I imagine it was the old fashion democratic method of bribes and kick backs. or just ignore the law altogether.Laws who needs any stinking laws when you’ve got billions of dollars, and from whats been reported in the news 15-20 billion more since being re-elected this time…spread it around and you need to obey any laws.

  • Kevin

Here’s the first thing: Why are New Yorkers in Arizona?
    In the videos,
They entrapped the sellers in all cases!
All of them (sellers) asked for an ARIZONA drivers license to validate residency.
Somehow, these NEW YORK “investigators” produced an ARIZONA Id of some sort.
THAT IS ENTRAPMENT. That is lying. That is UNLAWFUL!
If they would have said they don’t have an Arizona Id of any kind, and they still sold to them, then they would have something!
I, for one am sock and tired of reading story after story, where the results of so called “stings” are rigged to the point of american stupidity.
Mad as hell and not going to take it anymore …

    • Fay

      Amen and Amen

    • eddie47d

Yes it was entrapment, but that wasn’t the point and no one was arrested or closed down. It did prove that these sellers were willing to break the law and the next time there won’t be any entrapment. They will use officials from Arizona and it will be done legally then they can prosecute. Kind of a warning “sting operation”. Officials know they don’t get far in court with entrapment but the next time those sellers better watch out. Actually, proving something before you go in and make an arrest is ingenious and smarter police work. Too often police make fools of themselves and cases get thrown out.

      • Bob from Calif

All it proves is that Bloomberg and his flunkies will do anything to further their agenda, including breaking the law.

      • eddie47d

IF they used Arizona undercover officials then it could all be legal. So far it seems they didn’t do anything illegal to get that information. The guys on the other side of the table did.

      • independant thinker

But if they used Arizona undercover agents the guy would be in jail wouldn’t he? Of course he would because being Arizona agents they would have the right and obligation to enforce Arizona law. Since no arrest was made the logical conclusion is Bloomberg used the same NY agents he has used illegaly in other places.

      • eddy james

I wonder if the mayor of New York used any of the 15 billion dollars he’s made off of new York to buy the guns in Arizona or did he bilk the tax payers again. The only crime I see that was committed was Bloomberg and his co-conspirators conspiring to buy firearms illegally and then transporting them across state lines. I wonder if they declared them when they flew back to New York which would be another crime.

    • always right

Possession of a false Az. ID is a felony. False personation, particulalrly false personation with the intent to defraud or commit any other crime, is a felony. I hope Brewer’s AG nails these NYNY scum.

      • eddie47d

If that can be proven you may have a point. They could have hired Arizonians before the sting and made it legal. If you want to play hard ball then how about getting Brewer and the Az Attorney General to follow up and arrest those sellers who were WILLING to sell to unauthorized persons. Both sides could have interesting cases going on. Let us know what you are going to do.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        eddie,
by your own type of reasoning then perhaps the seller DID do a check after saying what he said, or HE would be in jail!!

      • eddie47d

Sure didn’t and that was in the video. They weren’t there to arrest anyone just to prove that they are making illegal sales.

      • Dan az

        Edward
        Go back to sleep!

      • eddie47d

Why, so you can run all over the facts.

    • Aix Sponsa

Geez, look at this troll mess. How did you all come up with the idea that NY people were in AZ? Bloomberg is commenting on an AZ study.

  • Jamie

You mean the way George Bush posed as a Republican??? Bubba?? I’ve never heard of a New Yorker being called Bubba. So Republicans like vidoes made against ACORN but not when it shows them selling criminals guns. Imagine that.

    • Raggs

There is NO proof this video was on the up and up… I figure it was set up…

      • independant thinker

Would not suprise me at all if the “seller” was a Bloomberg plant instructed to do exactly as he did.

      • JUKEBOX

With his billions, that is a distinct possibility. I love the way liberal Billionaires want to run everyone”s lives.

      • Jamie

You mean like the Koch brothers…holding the ultra secret meeting with only the richest of the rich invited…no press allowed…i wonder what there planning?? I’m sure its not to control anything…like elections or nothing like that.

      • http://deleted Claire

Jamie– The Koch Brothers are major contributors to the Tea Party and the Republican party. Apparently you already know that.

      • JUKEBOX

No, I was referring to George Soros, Blumberg, John Kerry, Dianne Blum Feinberg, etc.

    • http://att Shirley

I don’t believe people who are selling guns, are receiving tax payers money, unlike Acorn and Planned Parent Hood that are funded by tax payers money!!!!

      • JUKEBOX

Who has killed more innocent unborn babies, gun owners or Planned Parenthood?

      • Jamie

no one kills babies…they abort a fetus…big difference in a live breathing baby and a fetus.

      • Dogma-Free ‘The Trinity’

I would rather have a fetus aborted, than to have it brought into a world where ‘little rapist junior’ will not be loved and cared for.

Or where the girl/woman with the raped vagina – and subsequent demon-spawn wanting to take up in her womb – would have to live with a constant reminder of what must have been a horrific and traumatic experience for her.
Again, I have never been raped, but I would have to imagine it’s not a joyful, blessed experience.

Now, I know that not every abortion was because the pregnancy was the result of rape.

Some may have been the result of incest.

Imagine for a minute, if you will, that you’re trying to explain to your baby’s daddy was also your own daddy…except that you’re also your baby’s momma…I mean, that might fly in some of the extremely red-neck states, but in the rest of the country, that is considered to be some very messed up sh!t.

      • http://Juno Ken

Jamie shows her ignorance. Fetus is Latin for baby and they are both living souls. A Baby having been birthed can breath on their own, unless while they are being delivered their brains are sucked out for money, while a Fetus is growing, developing for life outside the womb. That is if their can out run the Planned Parent Hood doctors Knife. Its a crying shame that all the people, who support these gruesome, murderous acts currently being carried out on these innocent little ones, were themselves not aborted when their mom’s had the opportunity to do so. Say maybe we could ask Supreme Court to make the abortion law they passed retroactive so the adult supporters including themselves could be lined up and their brains sucked out of their heads seeing how they don’t seem to use it anyhow. Lets remove Bloomberg’s problem with Arizona by giving him to the Apaches and allow them to find a large red ant hill and use loads of sweet sticky stuff to cloth his naked body with. There his problem would be solved.

Dogma – what are the (as you say it in your slurred form) “redneck” states. Do you have these states in your country or are you just slurring ours?

      • http://?? Joe H.

        dogma,
Gee dogma guess what out of 150 million abortions since it passed, the majority of them were just plain “convenience” abortions. No rape, no incest, just “it’s not convenient to have a baby now!!” Then keep your dam legs closed!! and keep junior INSIDE the zipper!!

      • http://deleted Claire

Jamie–You are entitled to your opinion. However, I am a person that believes a fetus IS an unborn human being. I do not believe in abortion-only if the mother’s life/health is at stake, incest, and rape. Incest and rape? This bothers me, I just don’t think I would want a baby out of some lowlife creep. If I was ever in that situation, I may have had an abortion, but then I would think of the word “murder.” Tough call.

      • http://deleted Claire

Rednecks?? Hmmm, I guess I am a redneck too. Especially since I have a lot of friends that live in the southern states. I have been to all the southern states showing my dogs and I have these words to say: Southern hospitality and southern food—wonderful!!
BTW– I am a yankee but I love the south!

      • http://deleted Claire

JoeHH— LOL!!! Good comeback!! Truer words were never spoken!! Good for you!

      • JC

Liberty, Dogma-Fed is a bigot with a really sick mind.
        Pay no attention.

      • libertytrain

Heck, he’s not even an American.

      • JUKEBOX

I guess Jamie didn’t see the news story the other day, where the ABORTION DOCTOR was indicted for murder, where he was severing the spinal cord of his failed abortions with a pair of sterilized scissors!

      • http://deleted Claire

JUKEBOX–Oh, that man should be strung up by his you no know whats! The filthy horrible creep. Give him the death penalty, no that is too easy. He should be made to suffer, and he will when he gets to hell. Dang, I can’t imagine the horrible stuff that goes on.

      • Jamie

OK Jukebox i’ll use your logic…a bad doctor does something he shouldn’t have done so we need to outlaw ABORTION…well way more bad people use guns…why not outlaw GUNS?? No answer…you don’t look at the same way do you…you want your individual rights but don’t want women to have theres…i think thats called a hypocrite jukebox…but i’m sure thats not the first time you’ve been called that…and it won’t be the last.

    • Bruce D.

Let Arizona take care of its own problems and New York take care of their problems which are considerable. Arizona is under attack by the Federal Government, Bloomberg, and others for their desire to protect themselves. Let Bloomburg go live on that border for a while where they are trafficking drugs and illegal aliens and he would not be so arrogant.

      • Patsy

        Agree!!! From a native Arizonan.

      • Aix Sponsa

        That’s “Arizonian”.

      • Mac

Arizonan is correct. Patsy is correct to call herself “Arizonan.”

      • eddie47d

So you want to be tough on illegals but endorse illegal gun sales. Since Arizona gun stores have already been busted for selling illegal guns and those weapons end up in Mexico maybe you are part of the problem. Maybe you need to clean up your illegal gun activity at gun shows and a few gun dealers before you go after this Mayor’s group.( which is a non-profit org.)

      • Brad

You see folks Eddie neglects to mention the drug cartels employ clean criminals to go into legal gun shops purchase said weapon and then turn them over to the cartels and then smuggled back across the border. Sure the sale of weapons has been documented in the US and they have made there way into mexico, but would a legal citizen of the US sell their weapon with the chance of getting caught by BATF or the FBI. Again eddie bring zero proof to the table only his personal opinion, because opinions are just like azzholes, everybody has one and eddie yours stinks. Come back again when you have proof and next time don’t put words into some ones mouth that they didn’t say.

      • eddie47d

I brought that up about a month ago and had proof. You’ll have to do your own research this time.It was about a legal gun dealer in Phoenix(X-Caliber Guns). They were tracing guns found in Mexico back to Arizona and low and behold they came from this store. Surprise,Surprise! So they (ATF) pulled a sting and went in there and bought automatic weapons and even said they would be taken to Mexico. They bought the guns and walked out of the store. Easy as pie and no questions asked. It seems like Arizona has more than an illegal immigrant problem. So you need to read more and surf the net on top of that.

      • Brad

        Edwardo,

Dude if you did your reseaerch a month ago as you claim, you would know the judge in the case dismissed all charges against the owner of X-Caliber! That was back in 2009, BATF tried to retry the owner but the district attourney wouldn’t re-prosicute the case. What I got from the case, BATF tried to go after a legal gun shop owner because weapons he sold ended up across the border and in the hands of the drug cartel.

The truth did come out two young men who bought said weapons were giving them to two brothers who in turn would smuggle the weapons across the border into Mexico. The said delivery of weapons from one party to another who is not authorised to have weapons is illegal. Also since said weapons did cross the border that’s also illegal, so eddie why didn’t you know the truth. Is it just the liberal mind set that a law abiding citizen has to be prosecuted off of the word of a criminal. I read the entire story but there was no video and it stated in the write up I read, during the investigation the kid buying weapons from the owner asked very miss leading questions, hense the gov trying to get an innocent gun shop owner convicted of a crime.

Try again edwardo, lets see what lie’s you can come up with next.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        eddie,
        care to answer that???

      • Dan az

        Brad
I applaud you well done and said and Joe you know the answer to that one.

      • eddie47d

X-Caliber wasn’t innocent just like several criminals get away with their crimes. Poor police work, too costly to prosecute, too much pressure from pro-gun groups.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        eddie, eddie, eddie!!
How about some PROOF on that stance!!!

      • JUKEBOX

There is not one city in our nation that does not have at least one illegal gun sale per day.

      • Aix Sponsa

Maybe Los Angeles. Isn’t it a fact that there is only ONE gun store left in the city proper?

    • Jim

Jamie, where do you get from the article that guns were sold to criminals? The only folks who bought guns were Bloombergs cronies, are you saying they are criminals or just misplaced progressives? The real story should show how the crime rate keeps going up in his city, maybe they should investigate how all those criminals got there guns, I’ll bet the didn’t get them in Arizona.

      • Jamie

The man on the video said he couldn’t pass a background check the the seller said he didn’t have to…he just needs an ID…it doesn’t even have to be a valid ID…just and ID…and no one makes fake ID’s anymore do they. The crime rate in NYC is at a all time low. Maybe there is something to theis gun control stuff after all.

      • Ted Crawford

That’s because the criminals are leaving for California. Bloomberg now takes all the illegal action and money and they can’t get their share.

      • JUKEBOX

I am sure none of those 12 million illegal aliens have any kind of fake ID, HAHAHAHAHA!

      • independant thinker

” The crime rate in NYC is at a all time low.”

The crime rate in ALL of the USA is at an all time low especialy in places with much fewer gun control laws.

      • Jamie

Jim think of it this way…who has a lower crime rate?? NY or Arizona? The last i heard arizona was dealing with much more criminal activity than NY and NY has probably at least 4 to 5 million more people in it than Arizona. Looks like Arizona could learn a thing or two from NY to me.

      • Ted Crawford

The reason for the crime rate in Arizona is illegals. Obama and Janet have walked away from securing the border and left Arizona to deal with it, after first tieing their hands with a law suit!

      • Jamie

So who tied Arizona’s hands before Obama got in office?? Last time i checked Arizona was a free state and could write there own laws. If they want to build a fence and arm it with the Arizona national guard. But like you they just keep making up excuses of why they can’t.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Hey jamie,
Are you that darn dum or is tonight an exception?? Arizona had been begging the feds for years to secure the border and when they finally had enough and TRIED to do something about it the feds, led by Nobummer sued them. Pick your brain up out of the dirt and quit playing with it, dude!!!

      • JC

Joe, jamie is one of those liberals who imagines whatever they have to in order to paint their very distorted picture…in other words, mentally disturbed and disconnected.

      • JUKEBOX

Apparently it was Homeland Security Chief Napolitano, while she was governor and had the power, but not the will to do it. She was always complaining about not getting any help from the Feds during her term.

      • Doug

Hey Jamie how about we put NY on the border and see how you do! I lived in NY you can have it talk about corruption your just behind Chicago you like being a sheepie don’t you!

      • Jamie

I live in South Carolina Doug. Just commenting on the obvious. The GOP wants to give guns to criminals. If they didn’t then they wouldn’t mind a simple backgground check. Talk about sheep Doug. Your party is the party of elites you rail against in this post. The GOP is the reason the top 1% will make 60 cent of every dollar made in the USA this year. In 2000 they made 48 cent of every dollar. Your the sheep here Doug.

      • Jamie

OH and by the way Doug if you knew anything about our country you’d already know NY is already on the border the Canadian border. So we don’t have to move it now do we Doug.

      • Aix Sponsa

Jamie, your dollar viewpoint is grossly overstated. The major question is why are you fending class warfare against the rich? Should they be penalized for the ability to make money? Are you just mad that you are not capable of making money? Be realistic. If the rich didn’t invest their money somewhere or somehow, the country would come to a stop. Their money works for all of us, whether or not the rich just invest it in the market, or actually build infrastructure to create jobs. Taking rich people’s money in order to support big money is like standing in a bucket of water and trying to pick yourself up.

      • Aix Sponsa

That should read- taking money to support big GOVERNMENT. Government doesn’t produce anything tangible. It only sucks up money and recirculates it.

      • JC

jamie? The GOP “wants” to give guns to criminals?
        Having a heavy Meth night?

      • JUKEBOX

Hey Jamie, do you support giving guns to criminals without a background check?

      • 45caliber

        Jamie:

You need to do some more checking. NYC is one of the top crime places in the country and has some of the strongest gun control as well. AZ has crime problems, all right – and most of them are related to the illegals coming across the border with the President’s permission and aid. Many AZ citizens carry and the illegals don’t like it. So they complain and people like Bloomberg listen.

      • Jamie

Listening to your logic i guess the illigals had Bush’s permission and aid to come across too??

      • 45caliber

I don’t know if they did or not. Maybe. However when Oblama gave them an entire national park in AZ to help them get in by forbidding anyone from entering it, I’d say they certainly do have his permission.

      • Aix Sponsa

Let’s cut to the heart of the matter. Impoverished immigrants and illegals of all ilk, ARE the major source of crime throughout the USA. I will not exclude the impecunious illiterate with multigenerational and racial attitude problems. They are the major cause of disruptions in malls, wallyworld, and blocking the doors at the convenience stores, finding it humorous to intimidate people. They demand “equality” as long as it does not mean that THEY have to articulate American English, act with manners, and exhibit personal integrity in their lifestyles. Racist? No, I am a “socialist” = one who abhores their anti-social behaviour.

      • JC

jamie, you shouldn’t use the word “logic” until you know what it means.
All 45 did was state a fact.

      • JUKEBOX

NYC needs someone like Sheriff Joe, not a pacifist wimp.

      • eddie47d

Arizona wasn’t the point of the sting operation. It could have been New Mexico or Missouri. It was to prove how easy it is to buy a weapon and almost anyone can do it. It also proved that gun show seller are willing to break the law to make a buck. They are not as responsible or “law abiding citizens” as you had imagined. Bloomberg’s point in answer to your question is that all handgun murders in NYC come from guns from other States. These guns could be stolen or from gun shows or in some cases immoral gun dealers.Manufacturers of guns are usually not part of the problem. They distribute their product (like any business) to stores. Most are responsible and abide by the local laws. It’s easy to prosecute criminals who use legal or illegal guns but not so easy to prosecute the illegal sellers of those guns. Bloomberg wants those traffickers stopped cold and to keep them from their illicit business. Actually most legal gun owners ,81% support reasonable laws for it helps their credibility in keeping their rights intact.

      • independant thinker

That does not mean that 81% support more restrictive gun laws.

Less than 1% of guns used in crimes come from gun shows.

Bloomberg is so anti private posession of handguns I do not doubt he arranged for the “seller” to be at the show with instructuions to act as he did>

      • Aix Sponsa

Since there is almost ZERO ways to trace a gun, how can anyone make that statement about guns coming from gun shows? The general public has no conception about how the so-called “gun tracing system” works, and what is done when someone purchases a weapon. The GP also is ignorant of what the BATF instant check system actually is. The Arizona Assassin bought the gun legally.

      • eddie47d

That is why they have these surprise stings to prove what they already know. If you want us to believe your version then that will only prove how lax and uncontrolled gun purchases can be.Which means that could be another loophole that needs to be plugged. Now I doubt if that will ever happen but you certainly don’t care who buys a gun or for any reason given. So if guns aren’t traceable then maybe they should be?? I know they can be traced back to the manufacturer but that is not the problem. So what laws do you approve of to catch those “criminals”.

      • JC

There goes eddie with his, check this, tag that register these, chip that…he wants us all to be a herd of sheep that can be tracked down anywhere anytime for any reason at all…good or bad.
        No thanks commie boy.
        Privacy is a right.

      • Dan az

        Edward
Do you think that a criminal will register a gun for his trade? No I didnt think so because he can get one any where he wants to steal it!So you think if it where registered then the owner might get it back after the crime right? How thoughtful of you!You believe that the gun committed the crime so they should all be locked up!The gun is a tool nothing more its only as good a tool as you make it.Now for your question the way to stop the crime is use you tools to stop it in its tracks.Simple really aim between the eyes problem solved.

      • eddie47d

I expected the same lame answer about Rights. Then the one about taking aim and hitting them between the eyes. You brilliance is amazing.

      • TIME

        Eddie,

Gun show sellers will do anything to make a buck!
Wow, so what do you think Governemt officials will do to make a BUCK?

Oh, I forgot, just about anything! To include tax its citizens to death, Make it impossible to work, or start a business, (aka) the American dream to own you’re own business to be independant.
Sell out its citizens for a profit, but thats ok, right?

Yea those damm Gun Show folks, to think that they may wish to make a living or a profit what scum bags they are.

But its ok for Congress & the Senate to steal from you?
Lets see they go to DC middle class and come out with millions in their bank accounts, from Payola.
Plus a ski home, a beach home, plus a new home paid for in full, new cars for life, Oh and a salary of no less than $175K for life with adjustments for inflation. Plus their kids get educated for free, and just about anything they want or need is on the table for thier taking.

But hey those damm Gun Show SOB’S how dare they make a few bucks.

Lets not forget our Great Past Presie Bill Clinton, who left the WH with a Bank accound of just about $53,000.00 yet in just eight short years he and Hillie were able to turn that into $135 MILLION dollars.
Now thats some kind of investment minds there.
So why is it they can’t seem to do that for the country?

So thats ok, right? Even if Bill say was responcible for many thousands of guns being GIVEN away to rebbels in lands that HATE US?

Oh and paid for with YOU’RE tax dollars, So be dammed these SOB’s at gun shows. let’s get out some rope and hang them real high so all can see what happens to them SOB’S.

Put down the bottle of Stupid will you.

      • eddie47d

Remember you are the one who called them SOBs not me. You went so far off the issue so that was alot of smoke and mirrors and nothing else.

      • TIME

        Eddie,

Thats whats known in the real world as “CAUSTIC HUMOR” when I refered them as SOB’S.
But you’re responce back was what is known as “Passive Agressive behavior.” But I am not playing that game with you.

Now how fun is that as well please note I was more on target, OMG ~ I used a bad word, “Target” Now don’t go and shoot anyone Eddie?

That by the way again was “CAUSTIC HUMOR” so I am pointing that out for you so you don’t become confused.

Again I was very on target as a matter of fact SPOT ON.

When you follow CRIMINALS who tell you what behavior is within reason, aka “GOVERNMNET OFFICIALS,” Then you have real problems, but when the media’s complicity with such criminals ~ thats when one needs to have “the clear view from out of the liitle box of sheepie.”

I hope I have made that easy enough to understand.

      • eddie47d

More caustic smoke and mirrors from the king of smoke …and mirrors.

      • TIME

        Eddie,
I can’t help myself so I am responding to yet one more of you’re post saddly its value is spot on.
” It seems you never make a post without subtracting from the sun of human knowledge.”

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Time,
Too late, he drank the whole bottle!!!

      • Doug

Eddie you crawed out from under your rock again. I wish some would just cover it with dirt so idiots like you can’t get out. If someone wants a gun they can buy one any day of the week from the black market you idiot why don’t you worry about why your brain can’t comprehend adult conversation!

      • eddie47d

You must be one of those black market dealers trying to defend your turf. Those dealers are the ones who crawled out from under those rocks.Go join them and be quick about it.

      • JUKEBOX

If guns are banned, I wonder how long it will take Eddie to learn, when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. Probably, when one of the illegal gun owners helps him to his grave!

      • eddie47d

You see how the conversation always goes from illegal gun purchases to banning all guns. That is why you’re not credible. Stay on “target” and you might get somewhere instead of more smoke and mirrors.

      • Bruce D.

There is a reason for that Eddie. Progressives do things in increments to condition the people to their way of thinking.

      • JC

Wow…eddies really been into the cool-aid tonight.
“The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall NOT BE INFRINGED”
        Get it yet, commie boy?

      • JUKEBOX

I believe Eddie is envious of people who can buy a gun legally, or he might be envious of those who can buy a gun illegally.

      • eddie47d

JC;Go kick your dog because I’m not buying your crap.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        eddie,
I don’t think JC or anybody else here but you kicks dogs!! I only say that as YOU were the one to bring up the thought!!

      • 45caliber

Since they don’t sell guns in NYC, I would certainly believe that the guns used there in crimes comes from outside it. Not that it matters. Criminals don’t buy guns from dealers or at gun shows. This is a tool of their business. They don’t want it traced anywhere. Most guns are shipped in from outside the US.

      • eddie47d

Oh Please not that dizzy B.S. story again. Duck and cover-duck and cover!!

      • http://?? Joe H.

        eddie,
the only dizzy BS I see is, unfortunately, YOU!!

      • kate8

eddie, Are you really that naive? That guns are illegally shipped into the US every day is FACT. And the only ones we actually know about are the ones that have been discovered, which are many.

Criminals and militant foreign nationals don’t purchase guns legally, and they won’t turn them in. Who do you think is going to protect you when criminals are the only ones with guns?

This whole argument is stupid. Either we have the right to defend ourselves or we don’t, because taking legal guns will only open a huge playing field for those who don’t give a rip about the law.

      • JC

Note that eddie boy gives no reason WHY that story would be BS?
Talk about “duck and cover”. (diversion tactics)

    • always right

hey jamie, the ACORN swine were actually commiting crimes, i.e., aiding and abetting in child slavery, child prostitution, human trafficking, conspiracy to commit and tax fraud. Selling a gun to a shill who says he “might not” pass a background check is not a crime. There’s a world of difference between committing a stack of felonies, which weren’t prosecuted ONLY because Holder is a black racist and ACORN is a black racist organization who helped to put barry the black racist kenyan into office, and selling a gum legally to some who states that he “might not” pass a background check. “Might not” hardly constitutes a “preponderance of the evidence” nor “beyond a reasonable doubt”.
I think it should be illegal to sell guns to gliberals, NYNY hicks delusional, foam-flecked fools/progressives/Marxists-Leninists/communists/muslims/atheists/socialists/moderates/ demoncraps and demoncrap poll-i-ticians. That would take care of 99% of the gun crimes out there. That boy was one of yours, jamie.

“ad hominem” attack. Did I spell that right?
Ad hominem abuse (also called personal abuse or personal attacks) usually involves insulting or belittling one’s opponent in order to invalidate his or her argument. wikipedia

      • eddie47d

Wow another problem solver and more delusional trash from a trash mouth. Acorn got busted for doing wrong and lost it’s funding. So fair play would be to close down all gun shows and illegal dealers who can’t abide by the laws. Okay Pardner!

        eddie,
Damn man what is it that you hate about peoples pets??? have you always had this hatred? Or did it start when you were a kid and your folks wouldn’t let you have one??

      • 45caliber

The fact that the shill “might not” pass a check was evidently wrong since I’m certain the gun dealer called to check. And if he passed, there was no reason not to sell him one. Now if the shill had said, “I plan to take my gun down to the nearest gradeschool and see how many little children I can kill”, the gun dealer would probably have not sold it to him – and would have called the police.

      • Aix Sponsa

Technically, if a gun buyer says to the dealer, “I’m giving this to my wife for a birthday present”, the dealer cannot legally sell him the gun. If the dealer continues the sale, the dealer is guilty of a felony, and so is the buyer. Read the 4473 Form very carefully.

      • Aix Sponsa

My very good friend is an FFL dealer/store. He goes through every question with the buyer. IF the buyer states that the gun is being purchased for someone else’s use, he stops them. I have heard him tell buyers. “You cannot do that. To protect myself I must ask you to bring your wife in and have her fill out this form.” He absolutely protects himself legally in every aspect of every transaction. period. 20 yrs in business. All it takes is one slip to be wiped out financially and go to jail because of some hot-shot BATF agent.

      • Jamie

Yea he doesn’t like having a black man in the White house at all…he’s to good to have a black man as his leader…he’d rather have a silver spooned D student who would have ended up a homeless man if his last name wasn’t Bush…coked up alcholic could have never got elected president if he was a democrat…but since he’s a Republican the religous right looked the other way.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        dogma,
Oh brainless one, I’m sure you know for a fact that the person you are posting to IS lilly white??? I know Blacks that are saying the very same thing!!! Perhaps it would be better for you to keep your brainless comments in Canada!!

      • http://deleted Claire

I don’t give a damn if the president is black, white, half-black, half-white, or blue. Color makes no difference to me.

      • JUKEBOX

Can any of you pseudo intellectuals tell me what percentage of a person’s DNA qualifies him to be called BLACK? What I have a problem with is his constant refusal to tell the truth about his life before he was a “Community Organizer”

      • http://deleted Claire

Psuedo-intellectuals? Are you talking to yourself again? Get a grip, I didn’t calll Obama black. I didn’t even mention his name.

      • JC

Jamie, the only problem I have with Obama pretending to be black is that he is a racist. He is half white, half black and all about destroying America, which is largely a white nation.
I know a few (actual) black people who also see the Kenyan Imposter for what he is, and it has nothing to do with race.

    • marvin

      Jamie
you said selling to criminals can you prove that with fact or are you like all brain dead liberals

      • Jamie

The man said he didn’t need a background check…meaning he didn’t care if the guy was a criminal or not…as long as he had the cash for the gun…thats all he cared about.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        jamie,
and you were there to know beyond the shadow of a doubt that the seller didn’t do a check anyway???

      • Jamie

No Joe H the dealer said he didn’t need a background check…so why would he do one?? He was only interested in making a sell an moving on to the next customer…like anyone else selling anything else…dim witt.

      • JC

If the so called President doesn’t need a background check…why should anyone else?
(save for criminals and the insane)

  • Bitter Libertarian

Bloombutt needs to Mind his own business and not GRANDSTAND an issue as usual to gain attention. Watch..this scumbag will be the Democratic candidate in 2012 of after..

  • s c

Interesting. So Bubba Bloomberg is worried about ‘criminals and the mentally ill.’ Me, too, Bubba. I’m worried that we have so many criminals and mentally ill folks in Congress that the Constitution is just a piece of paper.
Bubba Bloomberg doesn’t live in a border state. His ‘investigation’ proves nothing, and I’m enough of a doubter that this is his way of positioning his sorry rump to try and get into the White House in the near future.
Imagine that. A progressive who poses as a ‘Republican’ is concerned that federal gun laws aren’t tight enough. Bubba, I know you don’t care. You’re a part of the problem. Whiz off.

    • Fay

I wonder how the People of New York City like Their money being spent like this. what right does He think He has coming to Arizona and telling other People what to do. Bubba fits Him and a lot more. stay away from Arizona if You don’t like Our laws. We do. I won’t say any thing against New York laws that way either.

      • marvin

        Fay
was it not in new york where the cops fired around 25 times and killed[murdered] a blackman holding up his wallet, and was it not in new yuck city where the cop murdered a blackman the night befor his wedding firing about 60 rounds, and him with no gun, my my sounds like blumburgler needs to send his investigators to his own back yard or to atlanta where cop kick the door in on a 82 year old woman murdered her then not finding any drugs tryed to plant some drugs, bad thing she could not see good enuf to hit what she was shooting at the crooked cops

      • Al Sieber

marvin, you got that right, 10 or 15 years ago, I might be a little off on the time frame.

      • JUKEBOX

It would probably be more effective if Blumberg passed a law that required any legal citizen withour a felony conviction to buy and carry a handgun. I know for a fact that this would bring the crime rate down.

      • Aix Sponsa

Fay, the “study” was done in AZ by AZ. Bloomberg is just commenting.

      • Al Sieber

Come on Aix, he should take care of the crime in his own state, and leave us alone.

    • Louie

I don’t really need the Constitution…I was born with my rights. I protect myself. I might become overwhelmed, but I’ll get quite a few of them before they get me.

      • RivahMitch

        Ditto!!

        Churchill said it for us:

“If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed, if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly, you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a small chance of survival. There may even be a worse case: you may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.”

A free man can be destroyed but never defeated.

      • Roger

You have that right. I’m with you.

      • Aix Sponsa

Louie, if they are coming to get you or your weapons, there will be at least 3 in full tactical gear. You won’t get anything but dead. Remember it is usually better to live to fight another day.

      • Al Sieber

Not when they’re coming down your road Aix.

      • Dan az

        Hey Al
You got that right I have yet to see any body armor stop a 50 cal.Have you?

      • Al Sieber

Me either Dan, maybe a 5′ thick rock wall.

    • 45caliber

Bloomberg is supposed to be running one of the largest cities in the country. It also has some of the highest crime rates in the country. So what does he do? He meddles in AZ. I think he needs to take care of his own problems first. Then someone might actually care to listen to him.

      • JUKEBOX

He needs to be made to walk around Tucson, Phoenix, and Glendale with a large sign around his neck saying, “I AM NOT CARRYING A WEAPON”.

      • 45caliber

Let him do that in NYC and see how far he’d get.

      • Aix Sponsa

Or NYC metro area. Just pick a city. They all fit the bill.

      • Dogma-Free ‘The Trinity’

@JUKEBOX – Why would he go through all that trouble?

All he needs to do is have Sarah Palin’s tea-bagging flunkie propaganda team put a picture up on Palin’s website of Bloomberg with a set of cross-hairs over his face or chest, with the caption ‘Take Aim’ on the top.

Then, some mindless far-right minion would take care of the rest.

      • independant thinker

Even more likely to happen if the far left Daily Kos put a target on him and a liberal shot him.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        dogma,
i it was truly a mindless one, it would have to be YOU. They just don’t get any more mindless than that!!

      • http://deleted Claire

I really do not think it is a good idea to post comments about killing anyone, whether they are Democrat or Republican. This kind of garbage talk only incites the wackos out there. I do not want any President or politician to get shot. I would think the recent shooting of Giffords and the other people would make people stop and think about this before they shoot off their mouths.

      • JUKEBOX

Which is worse, to be mindless or to have a terminal case of rectal cranial inversion as you apparently do?

      • http://deleted Claire

JUKEBOX: Are you referring to me?

      • uncldom

Teabagging is a sexual act where a man dips his ball sack in another persons mouth. Both parties practice this. Republicans do it with women and Democrats and Dogma-Free ‘The Trinity do it with another man.

      • JC

There goes Dogma-Fed again…painting his pretty (sick) pictures for us all to see. To see just how twisted an individual he really is, I mean…

  • http://GOGGLE vaksal

WOW,backround checks, maybe when people running or holding political office get one first, and for added value a lie detector test every year in office, opps and a drug test every thirty days, whats good for the goose is good for the gander.i must be dreaming, for all the above will happen only when pigs have wings.

    • Bitter Libertarian

Good Points, all valid and yes I like the idea that politicians need to pass a screeing as well…especially a Failed Business check..anyone who loses their business due to poor financial decisions should not be allowed to vote on spending bills…

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Bitter Libertarian,
I too, agree with Vaksal as if you think about it, the shooter in Tucson was real bad, don’t get me wrong, but it affected how many lives? maybe if you take the shock into consideration, 100 people? If the politicians let 10 dollar a gallon gas happen, how many are gonna starve or at least go hungry?? A few million? If the gun buyers need to get background checks then so should ANY politician and they DAMNSURE should get random drug testing!!

      • Kinetic1

A failed business check? Good idea! That would have saved us from 8 years of Bush.

      • JC

        Psychotically obsessed? (Bush is gone)

      • catchesthewind

Bush my butt. What about obama?

      • Jamie

Yes but the bad joke he played on our country is still going on…and will be until they repeal the Bush tax cuts…the biggest job killer this country has ever known…it killed 8 million job before he left office…and is keeping the country from recovering quicker.

      • JC

Jamie, while I have absolutely no respect for the President who initiated a false war, the Patriot Act, bail outs and said; “The Constitution is just a damned piece of paper”…It can not be ignored that we have gone from bad to much much worse. Obama is doing his absolute best to kill the USA and everything it stands for.
And if he isn`t doing it deliberately…he must be the absolute stupidest man ever to hold the office of POTUS.

      • Ms. Abby

As a small business owner I benefited from the tax cuts. People also have more money to spend. Here’s a breakdown of the cuts and what will happen when they go away. They benefited a great number of American families and individual middle income wage earners.

The 10, 25, 28, 33, and 35 percent rates would all rise. The new tax rates would be 15, 28, 31, 36, and 39.6 percent. This would cost taxpayers about $157 billion per year.

•The indexing of the alternative minimum tax for inflation would end. The AMT, which provides $66 billion in annual relief for taxpayers, attempts to ensure that individuals who benefit from itemized deductions or credits pay a separately calculated minimum tax.

•Taxes on capital gains and dividends would rise, meaning that investors could potentially pay about $35 billion more.

•Married couples would go back to paying higher rates than today, at a cost to them of $32 billion per year.

•Expanded tax credits – such as the child tax credit, which went from $500 to $1,000 – would end. This would cost families $26 billion per year. Some taxpayers would also pay an additional cumulative $1.5 billion in education costs.

•The estate tax, which has already expired, would go back to its 2009 level, costing heirs at least $26 billion.

•Higher-income households would see the dollar value of their personal exemptions phased out and would have a lower value for certain itemized deductions. This would cost those people – most of whom make well over $170,000 a year – about $21 billion.

Then factor in that there are small business owners that fall at the top of the brackets and would perhaps have to go up a bracket, and you are taking money out of our pockets. A lot of time that is not earnings to us, it’s capital for reinvestment in our businesses.

The bottom line here is that these tax cuts put more money in ALL our pockets.

      • uncldom

Name One Of Bush’s Policies That Obama Did Not Continue, Even With a Democratic House and Senate?

      • Ms. Abby

        They can’t…..

    • TIME

      Vaksal, Great post.

Saddly when “Crimminals” run the country we are at their mercy. Now just how bloody sad is that? We have a really screwed up nation as anyone with a nano grain of sanity can clearly see. Rather than look at the TRUTH or FACTS, no they would rather play the “DemO V RebO” game daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and on and on. Whats some more stuff so you stay sleeping? How about a nice bottle of Stupid?

Saddly I don’t think it can ever be repaired. Why, well our criminal leaders have build an Arsenal of weapons so that the citizens would stand no chance of ever winning let alone lets not forget UN TROOPS from say Egypt. Is the bloody light on yet?

This is a rather grim out look I know but really you do the math, the odds are stacked and not in YOU’RE favor. Its all happened while everyone was drunk on the bottle of STUPID. Whats some more stuff so you stay stupid?

Then there is always the possibility that if a large amount of states break away from the Union the union may well dislove, will that really help?
Keep in mind that the same Crimminals that have run the country, they will still be there running each state. So again back to square one. Anyone can make a mistake now and then, thats only human, but to build on the first mistake and keep going time after time, its no longer a mistake its then “deliberate.”

Perhaps as soon as the Middle east is 100% under the Muslim Brotherhoods control and crude is $200.00 plus a barrel from them. Thus making your gas at the pump $10.00 – $15.00 per gallon, thus inturn making your food cost 100 – 1000 Times what they are now.
And you can’t afford to eat even one meal every other day, nor drive to work.
Perhaps then the sheep will stop drinking from that bottle of stupid.

Also MIND YOU – as we sit on more oil and natural Gas and Coal reserves right here under our soil in the United States, again remind me now just how’s that work again?
Do any of You really think that paying some one to rape rob and kill you is in you’re best interest? Why is that?

      Perhaps the gaggle of the American public will wake up from their deep sleep from drinking from the bottle of stupid. You know the ones that are still at the weekend game {the DemO’s v the RebO’s.}

How bloody sad that we as a nation have become “Educated IDIOTS.”

Interesting isn’t it, how the most outspoken trolls offer no viable solution. They just like to rant.

      • Dogma-Free ‘The Trinity’

        VOTE INDEPENDENT!!!!!!!!!

As valiant as an armed uprising might seem, as TIME pointed out, the military here is simply too strong, and too good at what they do, and let’s face it…we’re disgustingly outgunned.

Besides that, why wait until it gets that bad??

It seems to me that by voting either Democrat, OR Republican, is just EXACTLY what *they* (the infamous, *they*) expect us to do. And so it kinda just volleys back and forth between the two, and so blame gets shifted back and forth to either/or, depending on who you ask.

Voting independent would be the one thing *they* wouldn’t expect…hell, no one would expect that.

None of the politicians in the two parties seem to feel the need to be accountable anymore (or maybe they never did, with the exception of Kennedy…and look what *they* did to him), because they know they have a lifelong (cushy) job, and they seem determined to milk it (and the country) for all it’s worth.

The politicians work for us, and it seems they have forgotten that.

Why? Because we allowed them to…because they know they can just run again in 4 years, after they suck up 4 more years worth of taxpayer dollars in their salaries (nice gig if you can get it, I suppose).

I am *hoping* that the independents aren’t that way…that they got into politics because they actually care about the country, and the people, and want to make things better for the whole country, as opposed to just their own companies, cronies, and families.

      • Patriot66

I agree. I’ve been voting for over 30 years now and have never voted for a dem or Rep, I’ve seen the game long ago. As long as everyone keeps voting for these creeps, things will continue as before, towards global enslavment. We the People need to wipe the slate clean and start from scratch. The only way to accomplish this is to get rational minded beings into office who actually represent US, and not just their own political agenda, or that of their financiers. Revolution would be nice too, as long as we maintained freedom after if we won… I don’t think that has been accomplished is man’s history yet. Ever, not even in the U.S.

      • Mary

Solution?. A little to late. We are a broken country in all the aspects.

      • http://GOGGLE vaksal

out spoken trolls, look at the facts, convicted felons are more likely to be repeat offenders, and if this new york billionaire has so much time and money on his hands,he should be taking care of his own bussiness in his own state, folks that call others trolls, evidently have a problem with those who express the real point of the issue at hand, and that is dont ask anyone to do,what you yourself wont do,and that is a very reasonable statement, get the point, free speech.oh and by the way if this liberal communist jerk(bloomberg) looked at the truth,he should look at the border, and get federal troops down their to seal it,but no the answer is abridge the law of the land,(THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION)the 2nd amendment, with more liberal horse poop, and who will be able to say no to them later after the fact of these morons in government who think we the american citizen can be pushed around by these self serving thugs pushing these type of communist agendas, the point is they should be held at the same exact rules as they wish to push on the american people.

The first thing to do is send the 20,000,000 Illegals Home. They are taking our jobs.
Open oil drilling to create and replace jobs lost. this would also wean us off foreign oil, which sends billions of dollars to our enemies.
Build nuclear reactors. France uses primarily nuclear, it is safe and effective.
        Build clean coal plants.
        Restart our steel industry.
Manage our forests. Cut and replant trees. This would prevent forest fires. Lower building costs.Use the underbrush to make cellulose products.Lower polution from the millions of tons of carbon spewing into the air from the ships that transport oil and lumber from other countries.
Get the government out of the way.
        “It’s The Jobs Stupid”.

      • 45caliber

It seems that most liberals, in particular, insist that we must fear the UN troops – and the UN doesn’t have any.

Even if they did, I seriously doubt that we would have much to worry about. Too many of them KNOW that Americans are armed and they have been told from birth about us. I’ve wondered several times if the politicans are not working to lower that awe of us since they tend to want to get into a war and then pull out after our military “loses” the war, trying to get across to the rest of the world that we are not undefeatable. Most forces working for the UN prefer to be safe in some walled area and hope the problem will work itself out without help.

And those blue helmets certainly make excellent targets …

      • Aix Sponsa

You are babbeling Sir. My son is a high ranking US MP for a couple decades, and the blue hat situation is serious. Most US troops covertly refuse to wear a blue hat, even though they have been trained to do so. When the time comes, expect blue foreign troops in your cities. They have been trained in the USA for a couple decades for just that purpose.

      • TIME

        Aix,

Great point, Nostradamus noted that the third Anit Christ would wear a Blue cap / hat. His troops would all wear such too.

Keep in mind Nostradams lived in the 1500′s so what ever he saw he tried to explain in his period words.
Just try and place you’re self in his shoes for a moment. How would you have told others of Air Planes in the 1500?

Folks you all really need to step WAY out of the sheep pen, or what ever you call a place where you keep sheep.

      • JC

Which means that anyone in uniform attcking an American, is not an American; therefore, fair game.

    • Bruce D.

Good one Vaksal. If Bloomburg was trying to help he would be pushing for a background check on Obama. The idea that Bloomberg is sticking his nose in Arizona gun laws only proves he is an enemy of the Constitution.

      • 45caliber

He’s simply interested in getting rid of your guns – not his own.

      • POGO in AZ

Bloomberg needs to stick his nose back up where the sun don’t shine and stay out of things that don’t concern his worthless new york ass. He’s a millionaire who, in his arrogance and ignorance, thinks everyone in the world should live by his arbitrary rules.

    • Al Sieber

Good one vaksal, here in Ariz. I’ve only been asked for ID a few times at gun shows here, you can go to swap meets, or buy from private individuals through the newspaper, so is Bloomberg gonna be watching the want ads in Ariz. Newspapers next? he needs to stay in N.Y. where he belongs. there’s talk in Ariz. about seceding from the union.

      • Dr. Mabuse

        Hey Al,

I downloaded the ebook on the Weimar Republic and its money woes and I also got some very valuable MP3s too. Most Americans (myself included) have had a distorted view of the Zionist question. To be sure, as the tensions in the middle east accelerate, we must be vigilant and armed with the right information. Perhaps when you have time, we can discuss Koestler’s “The Thirteenth Tribe” , as well as any other issues you think might be enlightening. Much respect man.

    • Van

Yes, and we all found out how effective “background checks” are when “American” Major, Nidal Hassan opened fire on a group of unarmed soldiers at Ft. Hood, slaying many, leaving behind countless loved ones and their future generations to grieve. He is rewarded with 3 square meals in a climate controlled facility in Belton Texas, medical care at the expense of the US taxpayer, and the continued payments of his monthly officer’s salary. Is that a terrorist I hear laughing in the background? Oh, and let’s not forget: We, as a country, have a leader who has chosen to release minutia detail – not even a CERTIFIED birth certificate – regarding who he is. No doubt, he would refuse to have a criminal background check. I suppose that’s one of the many perks of running a monarchy in what is supposed to be a republic.

    • JUKEBOX

I agree, and add when we are shown Obama’s genuine birth certificate or any of his passport and school records.

    • EddieW

This corrupt and evil man is intent on destroying this country, in order to bring in the New World Order, which shall bed an old form of Tryanny!!! Even now, we are headed for a POlice State, and DHS is pushing it, doing exactly what both Hitler & Stalin did to bring it in…have neighbor spy on neighbor, and Walmart is pushing it too! The FBI has asked Garbage collectors to also spy on you!!! I hope I don’t live even a few more years!!!

Bloomberg tried the same crap in Virginia. The Virginia Attorney General told him Virginia would arrest any of his “investigators” if they tried it again in Virginia — and that Virginia would sue Bloomberg and New York City. Fight fire with fire!
