Obama’s Ultimate Betrayal

January 12, 2011 by

Obama’s Ultimate Betrayal

Welcome to 2011; another year for President Barack Obama, whose energy policies are dictated not from the White House but from Abu Dhabi and Riyadh.

Obama’s Christmas gift to the nation was the December announcement by the President himself to clamp down further on domestic oil and gas drilling. Welcome to the New Year where pump prices now average more than $3 per gallon.

Despite the worst recession since the Great Depression, we are paying the highest gas prices since 2008. All thanks to Obama’s need to go Green, which is enriching Arab oil producers while putting America’s future at risk.

Obama regulators have been busy slipping in ill-advised energy policies. First came the pre-Thanksgiving announcement that oil exploration and drilling in Alaska would be curtailed. All for a good cause, said the Obamaites, to help save vast expanses of polar bear habitat. Then Obama’s Department of the Interior made a pre-Christmas policy change that would further cut domestic oil supplies by making energy-rich lands untouchable.

It seems that Obama forgot that designating Federal lands as wilderness areas was supposed to require an act of Congress. Yet the day before Christmas Eve, Obama’s Department of the Interior did a coup d’état. As a result, the Obama administration alone is able to judge where oil can or cannot be drilled. In doing this, Obama has thwarted George W. Bush’s policy that restricted unilateral action by the White House.

Then there is the drilling in the deep-water Gulf of Mexico. Nearly three months after the Obama administration lifted its ban, oil companies are still waiting for approval to drill the first new oil well in the Gulf. In fact, the petroleum industry expects the wait to continue until the second half of 2011, and perhaps well into 2012.

This long delay by the Obama administration is costing Big Oil billions of dollars that they have tied up in Gulf projects; projects that are now on hold while petroleum companies pay out thousands of dollars every day on rigs that stand idle.

Last week the Wall Street Journal wrote this indictment of Obama’ energy policy:

“Their impact goes beyond the oil industry. The Gulf coast economy has been hit hard by the slowdown in drilling activity, especially because the oil spill also hurt the region’s fishing and tourism industries. The Obama administration in September estimated that 8,000 to 12,000 workers could lose their jobs temporarily as a result of the moratorium; some independent estimates have been much higher.

“The slowdown also has long-term implications for U.S. oil production. The Energy Information Administration, the research arm of the Department of Energy, last month predicted that domestic offshore oil production will fall 13 percent this year from 2010 due to the moratorium and the slow return to drilling; a year ago, the agency predicted offshore production would rise 6 percent in 2011. The difference: A loss of about 220,000 barrels of oil a day.”

All of which leaves America more susceptible to an Arab oil embargo. The last one happened in the 1970s when the U.S. was pumping twice as much oil as it is now.

With the U.S. gulping more foreign crude than ever, Arabs could bring America to its knees. You would think that a President as smart as Obama would understand the risk he is putting the nation in; a nation which he has sworn to protect.

Perhaps the greatest waste of American resources is out West where there is potentially hundreds of millions of barrels in oil reserves and trillions of cubic feet in gas deposits; all of it just waiting to be drilled and pumped to a thirsting nation. Yet our President is obstructing America from meeting its energy needs.

Ben Lieberman of The Washington Times explains:

“Utah is particularly hard hit, with up to 6 million acres in jeopardy of being locked away from development. Rep. Rob Bishop, Utah Republican, told The Salt Lake Tribune, “[This decision will seriously hinder domestic energy development and further contribute to the uncertainty and economic distress that continues to prevent the creation of new jobs in a region that has unduly suffered from this administration’s radical policies.”

But there is more. Two days before Christmas the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) undertook a Pearl Harbor-like pre-emptive attack on U.S. refiners with an order that will place severe limits on carbon-dioxide emissions. The EPA, in language Joseph Stalin would have been proud of, said: “The details have yet to be determined.”

The Moroccan Candidate
The bottom-line is that under Obama, Washington is certain to increase the cost of converting oil into gasoline. If you are looking forward to spending $5 per gallon at the pumps, you will love Obama’s bold new move to make America more green.

The $5 per gallon is not just a number I picked out of the air. The former president of Shell Oil says that’s entirely possible as high demand pushes the price of crude oil higher and higher.

Culminating some time by the third quarter of 2012, retail pump prices in places like California and New York will reach roughly $5 per gallon, said former Shell Oil president John Hofmeister.

Former energy secretary Bill Richardson was asked about Hofmeister’s stark prediction: “I hope he’s wrong, but this is a very volatile energy market and we haven’t moved as fast as we should in America towards reducing our dependence on fossil fuels.”

Hofmeister underscores the urgent need to develop domestic oil production and he even accuses the Obama administration of being anti-oil.

“I have no problem moving beyond oil but not today, not tomorrow, not 2011 or 2012. We can’t. It’s simply impractical and unreal,” Hofmeister said.

Meanwhile, the Department of Energy (DOE) has put out a statement saying it will continue to pursue responsible oil and gas production while focusing on vehicle efficiency standards and investing in electric vehicles, bio-fuels and mass transit.

Obama’s DOE must think America alone can make the Earth green. What the President seems to forget is the fact that China, India and Russia, along with a host of Third World polluters, are using coal and even wood furnaces to drive their industries.

It appears to me that Obama’s Green policies are nothing more than collateral damage to a nation that needs domestic petroleum and the jobs that that industry provides. Instead Obama’s policies seem to be helping Arab oil exporters.

If you think I exaggerate, consider this from the Dec. 29 Economist, not known as a bastion of conservative ideals: “Mr Obama’s team of managing the Middle East is even more inept than Mr Bush’s. The American right and many Israelis think he is too pro-Arab.”

Dubya Billboard: “MISS ME YET?”
People in the petroleum industry don’t believe Obama is pro-North America, at least not when it comes to energy. Canada’s oil sands — which help keep America on the road every day—have been labeled “dirty oil” by Obama Democrats (as if the crude they pump out of the Saudi desert was somehow clean). And given the political realities that exist in many parts of Alaska, Sarah Palin has a greater chance of hitting a gusher with an errant shot from her AR-15 than Big Oil has with a drill-bit.

Despite Bush’s multiple mistakes in the Middle East, he was a patriot who at least wanted to ramp up domestic oil and gas production. That’s not true of Obama, who seems intent on increasing America’s dependency on Arab oil.

As I write to you, oil has topped $90 per barrel. I believe that by summer it will break over $100 per barrel. That makes Big Oil a good investment. But at what cost?

Under Obama’s presidency we are headed for an energy crisis worse than anything President Jimmy Carter could have engineered. Just how high oil prices will go I don’t know. Much depends on what happens in the 2012 election.

Yours in good times and bad,

America voted for this undercover muslim/communist and our country has never faced a more dangerous diabolical enemy. Even more dangerous to our country than Hitler and the axis of WWII or the communist empire that finally collasped. If only there were ONE patriotic secret service who would stand up do the right thing…..

    • Curtis

What exactly are you saying Arthur? You’ve stated that “America has voted for this undercover muslim/communist” and that we have “never faced a more dangerous diabolical enemy”. You’re referring to Obama, no doubt? Then you ask for “ONE patriotic secret service man who would stand up do the right thing”. In a democracy we use ballots to change things… we don’t get other “secret services” to do it for us. The last guy that had an “SS” didn’t last too long.
So Arthur, what exactly is the right thing? Why does it need to be a “patriotic secret service”? With a politician currently in the hospital fighting for her life after an assassination attempt, I find your post highly offensive. I also find the innuendo and double-talk of your post very cowardly and utterly contemptible.

  • Dennis

The blame game, Carter did it, Reagan did it, Clinton did it, Bush did it, and now Obama did it to, And guess what, the next President will do the same thing, what a joke One day you will wake up people and see who’s to blame. Question is will it be to late.

    • Dennis

Opps i left out Bush 1, he did it to.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I dont recall Reagan pointing fingers, nor Clinton, and definately not Bush. Bush never pointed fingers at Clinton. He just went to work. But all I have seen Obama do, is what he did to get elected, attack others and point fingers and tell lies about them. That is all he has brought to the table, and that is why over 60 of his buddies got kicked to the curb, and that is why his worthless butt is getting kicked to the curb in 2012. You cant count on that, so put that in your pipe and smoke it buddy. Its happening soon, in a theatre near you.

  • http://bjwholmes@verizon.net bjholmes

Considering our problems today, anyone who searches the past rather than the present sould be required to “stand in the corner”. What Carter, Clinton, or Bush did is completely irrelevent. Might as well refer to what George Washington did. Obummer is not American and obviously wants to destroy us. He is quite intelligent, some say. Kind of a waste of intelligence, I’d say.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Intelligent? If so, he wouldnt have to have his telestrator tell him what to say, now would he?

  • dave

This country has gone nutso. Why can’t you people see what these crazy’s are doing in D.C.! They are not concerned about the people of this country or for that matter the people of the world. They are concerned only with themselves.Obama is going to destroy the free world and get rid of thoses that oppose them and their agenda. When I say get rid of,it means just that,as in you no longer exist along with your families.Wise up you idiots of the free world this is comming and soon!

  • patrick

I feel the time is right to TAR and Feather Obammy boy! Folks, can’t you see it again today, how Obammy boy is driving our great country into ruins? This is his plan, to turn the United States of America into a 3rd world, Marxist, Socialistic, Communistic nation. He wants Muslims and terrorists to take over and control the USA under Shariah law and bury our Constitution. I still can not figure how these endorsements are allowed to occur each and every day? Is there not one single politican or patriotic American citizen out there that will stand up to these crimes? I keep hearing talk of the new Revolution and i’m willing and waiting to join in, but where do we start? Who will lead the way? Where is the White Power, the skinheads, the military milita groups, Patriots, rebels?

    • Curtis

Gee Patrick… I sure hope it’s not the KKK! I mean how will they lead your revolution looking through those tiny little eye holes in their pillow-case hats? You’re looking to skinheads and racists to save the country? Are you serious?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Ask Robert Byrd, I mean you democrats elected him time and time again, now didnt you? Thats what I thought.

  • Mike

Mr. Myers, while I certainly agree that obama is in bed with Opec, you failed to mention Petrobras. He snuck a multi-billion dollar loan to Petrobras (Petroleum Brazil)for deep water drilling shortly after taking office. Hypocritical to his environmental agenda? You bet. The major shareholder in Petrobras: George Soros. Obama’s covered with slimy big-oil dealings–just not to the benefit of Americans, our economy, or our deluded environmental programs.

As a laid of worker from the Gulf of Mexico oilfields, you might try multiplying the administration’s unemployment figures by twenty. That will give you a more realistic figure of actual roustabouts, deckhands and specialists that were immediately impacted. What that figure fails to incorporate is the ripple effect into suppliers, equipment manufacturers/leasors,direct shore support, trucking and local infrastructure…Let’s remember, of course, that TX,LA,AL,MS, and the Florida Panhandle all voted heavily against Obama.

    • ValDM

This just supports the idea that the American taxpayer is being plundered of his last dollar. We have inflation, higher taxes/fees, and now higher gas prices. Odumbo will NOT stop until we all have nothing.

    • John Myers

Excellent points Mike. Thanks for raising them. I hope 2011 is a better year for you and your community.
      Best,
      John

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Im surprised the liberals havent risen up yet and blamed Noah’s flood on Bush yet. I guess thats coming next.

  • GEORGE BOLTON

I CAN’T BELIVE YOU LIBERAL ASSLES THINK THAT DRILLING FOR OIL IS BAD. WHEN YOU ARE PAYING $5.00 PER GALLON I HOPE YOU WILL BE SMART ENOUGHT TO UNDERSTAND THAT WITH NO DRILLING NO GAS HIGH PRICES. GET IT. OBAMA WANTS ME TO DRIVE SOME LITTLE SHIT BOX CAR THAT I WILL BE KILLED IN. SO I NOW HAVE ONE THAT GETS 7 MILES PER GALLON AND I LOVE IT. “DRILL BABY DRILL”

    • Curtis

You drive a car that gets 7 miles per gallon? You DESERVE $5 gas.

      • Dale on the left coast

Curtis . . . bus rider . . . no car that normal people can afford gets 7 mpg. You are once again demonstrating that you are “Clueless” . . . how’s your buddy fat Al doing? Been to CA to visit his new digs yet” It’s a mantion on the west coast . . . didn’t he tell us the ocean was going to rise 30 feet? Maybe you should take the bus out there Curtis and tell him . . . he’s just a bit senile . . . probabaly forgot about the ocean thing.

    • herman richardson

Hell yeah keep drilling, destroying the environment, why care about the animals, fish, they are the things we eat, go ahead dril drill drill, idiots

      • Dale on the left coast

Hermie . . . thousands of holes have been drilled in the Gulf and elsewhere in the world. One has a problem . . . and you are pulling out your hair. Where was the Pres and the Feds when it happened? Took over 60 days for the WH clown to talk to BP. He turned down help from cleanup experts. Now the oil is gone . . . wow!! What happened to the poluted forever nonsense?
Everything you have today is linked to oil . . . oil is a natural substance created in the core of the earth, necessary for modern life and civilization. There is nothing to replace oil tomorrow, next week, or evern next year. Therefore we will be using it for many years to come . . . so just get over it!!!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Funny how the liberal press was all over Bush when Katrina hit, because it took the national guard 3 days to penetrate the flood to get in there to help, when after this oil leak, Obama did nothing except turn down help, for well over a week, into the second week. And he got a free pass. Where was all the outcry from Ray Nagin and such that it was because the people were black? Where were you Ray Nagin? Why didnt you blame Obama for not getting there and doing something? I know they voted your worthless butt out of office, but you could have gotten on TV and lamb basted the man like you did Bush. Hmmm. I guess we see who the real racist is, Mr. Nagin.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

They will blame it on Bush, somehow, someway. You watch and see.

  • Jules59

There was no need to stop the drilling in the Gulf other than the fact that Obama’s administration could cripple the U.S. economy. If you are paying attention at all to what is happening, most of these crises seem to be manufactured. Planes have crashed and we do not ground ALL planes. Car accidents happen frequently, but we do not put a stop to traffic. This is just part of the liberal progressive plan to destroy America so they can build their “socialist utopia”. How can ANY American support this agenda?

    • steve meller

      Yes Jules,
I am convinced for I have seen the proof that the Gulf Oil Spill was planned and very well executed.
The oil companies, the cleanup companies and inside traders (all of the same people) all got fat at the expense of Mother Earth and the good people in the Gulf region. And the plan continues to unfold.
      Good info from Len Horowitz.http://www.healthyworldmessage.com/archive.php?id=128

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

But notice, that when this spill happened, the liberal press and the greenies were all over this, that it was the armageddon of environmental disasters. Yet you go down there now, other than some slight oil stains on the marshes, you would never know it occurred at all. Not at all. Nature is a lot stronger and robust than anyone seems to give it credit for. Im here to tell you know, that I dont litter, and I try never to pollute if I can help it, but there is no way man can totally screw up the environment as the greenies think. Even if we had all out nuclear war, fact is, nature would clean itself of it. Is man that pompous that he thinks himself great enough to actually destroy this planet that God created? Think again. God has reserved it for destruction by fire, and it will be done by His hand, not ours. And a new earth will be formed here. So there.

      • Mike In MI

Bless you Beberoni; thanks for bringing it back to sense and reason and something that will be a good conclusion – cause after that He’s going to redo it all as Paradise.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Obama had to, because the greenies and George Soros own them, and they have to appease them at every move, or these guys cut their funding to them out, and they cant have that.

Oil prices are more based on the day futures traders. What ever the media gives as their opinion of what oil will be in the future, the traders make it happen.

America is now being destroyed from within. We the people have been asleep too long. We need to get back to smaller government and let business sift out the needs of markets. We need to reduce our dependency on foreign oil. We need a new President that will live by our Constitution. We need to stop giving billions of dollors away to buy favors of foreign governments and support our own people. The past few years have brought American into great danger. The Soviet Union was broken by over spending and its top heavy government. No war could have done it better. The same is now happening to America.
It is simple economics…Who and how will all the government programs be paid for? Taxes? Hidden Fees? Then what? More and more!!!!

  • John G.

Manufacturing Jinrickshaws would be a great business to get in. Then let the left wing morons pull them.

GOod Idea! How do I get this thing going? Give me that electronic Cow Prod, that oughta get this lib going.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Cant. They are too lazy. Most of them sit around collecting unemployment, welfare and food stamps. And you think they would go to work? No way that would work.

    • Mike In MI

Wow, talk about a good way to get nowhere fast. Besides where are you going to find a liberal that knows how to run anywhere except run for office and then run things into the ground, run amok and run for cover?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

        Bullseye on that one.

  • helen

I think the refiners should just turn that right around. Since CO2 is highly used in green plant photosenthesis it should be piped into an on site green house for the production of food. Of course, then you may need a permit to place green houses on the site.

    • Vigilant

There’s little to no evidence that CO2 damages our environment. The largest portion of it gets rained into the oceans.

    • http://personalliberty.com Rolychick

      Helen:

Good idea, but it’s probably not possible. The Food Safety Bill will allow the government to decide who can grow and what they can grow and how much they can grow…with the help of global agencies. (And that was passed by members of BOTH parties!) So, once again, regulation hinders us to find creative ideas to help solve problems.

Sounds pessemistic, doesn’t it? Sorry. I don’t mean to be. I do believe in the power of the people of America, and I hope you do too.

      • Mike In MI

        Hey, Rolychick -
I wonder if government regulation is what will ultimately bring the world to the point of destruction? Thereby requiring that before it’s totally ruined beyond the capacity for life to continue God will have to send The Lord back for his return trip? Then God can reset up His systems of regulating earth that Obama and friends have destroyed.

  • http://personalliberty.com Steve E

I do not agree with much that Obama has done, but there is a need to suspend drilling in the gulf until the govt is SURE what caused the last blowout, and to be s 1000% sure it doesn’t happen again.

As far as atopping Alaskan drilling to save the polar bears, you
will have to show me proof before I buy that BS.

    • Bruce D.

I think your wish has come true Steve E. The oil rigs have moved to locations in other countries not to return for a long time. That is one of the reasons for gas to move to $5 a gallon.

      • Curtis

Another reason for $5 gas is the fact that Americans are energy hogs and waste too much, driving cars that are too big. Do you really need to drive that Hummer a block and a half to the local 7-Eleven to buy that slurpee and twinkie?

      • Bruce D.

Americans do not have to apologize for big cars. Get a life.

      • Curtis

No you don’t have to apologize for big cars… but you don’t get to whine about the price a of gas if you drive a big car.
Patient: “Hey Doctor… it hurts when I do this.”
        Doctor: “Then stop doing it.”

      • Bruce D.

Or for that matter an affluent lifestyle. Only socialists do that because they lack the creativity to solve problems and look to government for answers. Governments answer is always tax more and do with less, the great socialist mantra.

      • Curtis

I enjoy my affluence. I keep my money by taking public transit to work. I could pay $200 per month for a parking space downtown and the $60 per tank of gas and drive in the stop and go traffic that is laughingly called “rush hour” and pay more for car insurance because I drive to work five days a week. OR I pay $100 per month for a pass, and save money on gas and insurance and spend my money elsewhere. Like taking my SUV and going camping, canoeing, hunting and fishing. It has nothing to do with socialism… it’s common sense.

      • Bruce D.

Curtis very few people live where public transportation is practical. In most places it takes $20 to $40 dollars for a taxies after you get off public transit. I would take public transportation if it got you where you want to go. I really don’t like driving in the heavy traffic of the city.

      • libertytrain

Perhaps Curtis still lives in Germany where public transportation is more readily available to most in the country. Of course Germany is about the size of Wisconsin so that might have been easier to provide.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I totally agree. I drive a Honda CRV and I love it. My best friend drives Chevy Avalanche and he loves it. No big deal. If you can afford the gas, more power to a guy. Ive got nothing against anyone driving a big vehicle. If I didnt have to drive 25 miles to work each day, I might, but for now, I go for the fuel economy. The guys crack about people owning big vehicles makes no sense at all.

      • castaway

You are way out of line! This is America by the way! Not communist China.

      • Dale on the left coast

Curtis . . . just a few FACTS!!! The US uses about 25% of the worlds energy . . . the US also has about 25% of the world’s economy. If we are willing to reduce our energy consumption, we must also be willing to reduce our economy. Question – are you willing to sacrifice your job???
How about we just go out a drill, drill and drill some more . . . there are enough oil and natural gas reserves to last over 100 years, IN THE USA . . . we just need to go and get it.
And Curtis – they stopped making Hummers about 3 years ago.

      • Curtis

Dale, you’re making the assumption that energy consumption has a one-to-one relationship or correlation with the economy. I’m not sure I agree with your assumed facts in this case. Energy consumption for manufacturing and delivery wasn’t my point. Wasteful consumerism was target.
As for your other “fact”, here’s the TRUTH… the last Hummer H3 “rolled off the line at Shreveport on May 24th, 2010.” (Roy, Carolyn (2010-05-24 “Last Hummer rolls off line at Shreveport GM plant” http://www.ksla.com/Global/story.asp?S=12533107).

That would be eight months ago NOT three years ago. Either your math or your “fact” is incorrect.

      • Mike In MI

        Curtis -
I see from your posts that, while you have figured out a few good ways to personally do things, your’s is a purely anecdotal situation.
I’m not sure you have any conception how many people who own(ed) their own small businesses need vehicles with power, volume and flexible utility. Are you, maybe, one of those people who wouldn’t believe the truth if it were produced? After all, Why do you need an SUV to go camping? You should ride your bikes and backpack.

      • http://personalliberty.com Rolychick

        Curtis:

The environmentalist wackos are the reason why deep water drilling was initiated in the first place. The rigs were pushed far offshore to prevent spills that would reach the land sooner.

Ironically, fixing shallow well blowouts is much easier than trying to cap deep water blowouts, as we saw with the BP fiasco. Thus, you can thank EPA and other regulatory agencies for the mess.

BTW, where’s the massive damage to the environment that was supposed to have occurred as a result of the BP spill (“the worst environmental disaster in history”)? The libs seem to be awfully reticent about that.

The only damage it really caused was to put thousands more out of work in a socialist-caused recession.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Amen brother. Weve got oil under the ground all over these United States, but the greenies in conjuction with the democratic left have block all efforts to drill it, even after Bush ordered them to start drilling, which by the say, shows that the president cant do anything he wants, without congress going along and saying yes, so those of you that like to blame him, then blame the democratic congress also. Thank you.

      • Mike In MI

        Right again, Beberoni -
And while we’re at it let’s not forget to put these guys fooloin’ around in Washington today on notice that they’re being watched and wil be pushed or putched.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Thats right, as over 60 of them that were just kicked to the curb can attest to. We are watching, and you screw it up, your going out the door at the first possible turn.

    • Illinois Minuteman

Steve, Mexico, China, and a couple other countries are STILL drilling in the gulf. The USA is not. We, the taxpayers, are sending billions in aid to Mexico which is an oil rich country. Guess what Mexico exports to the US? Poverty.

You forgot, Pot, Violence, and BO supporters

      • Mike In MI

        Bill AZ -
Let’s don’t forget, they send our wealth back to Mexico, too. Some of it they earned illegally and some they got from the welfare system…money we paid in taxes.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

And when these foreign countries have a leak guess who shores it is coming up on? Will the liberal greenies attack them when it happens? Very interesting. And its funny, that if Bush was president when the leak happened, they would have been all over him. But since Obama was, he got a free pass for his inaction, and instead the liberal press used big oil as the evil villian, attaching them to the republicans somehow, when it was during Obama that this rig was pulled into the Gulf, and it was under Obama that this well began its drilling, so it was under Obama that the safeguards were not checked. But he gets a free pass. Hmmm. Mighty strange.

      • http://personalliberty.com Rolychick

You know what really bugs me about that? America, with its huge amount of regulation in drilling, would do a FAR better job at keeping things clean than the governments you mention. So there’s another way the drilling ban in the U.S. makes absolutely no sense.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Sure they do. We have safety regulations and controls, and we seem to be the only country that follows them. Just like the overfishing of tuna and things like that, we abide by them, but foreign nations never have to for some reason. And our own government is the worst enemy of our business, with all their red tape and taxes and this and that, it costs us so much more to produce things, because of government interference. If they would get out of the way, and let the free market system work, and quit regulating everything, and trying to get tax dollars for everything, both the tax coffers and the country would be better off.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Again A-hole, you tell lies. Clinton left Bush in one hell of a recession, with a military cut in half, with an intelligence agency that was cut in half. Terrorist running free all over the country, which after, according the the facts, took them 5 years of Clinton sleeping, they pulled off 9-11. You can think Clinton balanced the budget, but he didnt. Heck man, I could walk in there right now, fire half the military and half the intelligence, sell China our intelligence, sell our jobs to Mexico, and cook the books to show, hey, look at all this money weve got. Arent I amazing. Smoke and mirrors pal, smoke and mirrors. The dude was a leper, the worst thing to ever happen to this country. We will be paying for a long time for what Clinton did and didnt do as president. Worst of all, was how he let the terrorists blow up the WTC basement the first time, then the USS Cole, then drag our dead on TV through the streets of Somalia beating their naked bodies. Embarrassing to this United States of America, that our supposed leader allowed all this and did absolutely nothing, but reach for another cigar and another intern. At least Bush showed them we mean business, but now with Obama, they are laughing again, because they know the left are pacifists. They know it. As time passes, more and more comes out, and on Clinton, its more damning day after day. When its all finally revealed over time, we all will know how damning to this country he was, and we still are paying for his misdeeds, and will for quite some time. Your honoring him as something great, shows your lack of disdain for the truth, to which I have to say, shame on you sir. Shame on you.

        Right, Beberoni -
And lest it be left unsaid…again…:
The president only proposes the House disposes. Why not be honest in your analysis, Clarence, and show the gross 8 year record…instead of make it look like what you want to portray. Bush wasn’t doing to bad, considering the things that befell his time in office.
The most disastrous to the country was how much he had to rebuild our force for wars. Then the dumb American people had a snit fit in 2006 like thay had in 2008 with Obama’s election. The Left-dominated House and friends like McCain, Snow and other closet marxists went hog wild with the red ink pen and blamed it on Mr. Bush’s Admin.

I’m with you, John. Let’s not forget the TAXES that the government recognizes from the sale of EVERY GALLON IN AMERICAN. Not sure what it is today, but in 2008, the US Government was making $24,000 EVERY MINUTE in taxes from the sale of gasoline ALONE.

It all sounds like the same old same old. Blame Bush and the oil companies. I don’t recall anyone proving oil usage as destroying the earth. How about we drill for oil and natural gas in our own country and let the arabs keep their oil.

Great post Chip. It doesn’t seem like Obama could possible have the ratings he does now. I know the left can buy votes by redistribution but I still have to wonder why people cannot see past that. If Obama continues to pass legislation to discourage business there will not be any money left to redistribute. I have to think that some think one all two percent of the population can make everyone well off for the rest of their life if you you just confiscate their wealth. This is so short sited Obama’s war on business.

      Bar Stool Economics

      David R. Kamerschen, Ph.D.
      Professor of Economics
      University of Georgia

      Bar Stool Economics

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and
the bill for all ten comes to $100 and If they paid
their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something
      like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
      The fifth would pay $1.
      The sixth would pay $3.
      The seventh would pay $7.
      The eighth would pay $12.
      The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.)

So, that’s what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed
quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the
owner threw them a curve. “Since you are all such good
customers,” he said, “I’m going to reduce the cost of
your daily beer by $20.” so drinks for the ten now cost
      just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way
we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected…They
would still drink for free…But what about the other
six men – the paying customers? How could they divide
the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his ‘fair
share?’…They realized that $20 divided by six is
$3.33…But if they subtracted that from everybody’s
share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each
end up being paid to drink his beer..So, the bar owner
suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man’s
bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to
work out the amounts each should pay.

      And so:
The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing
      (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).

The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before…And
the first four continued to drink for free…But once
outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their
      savings.

“I only got a dollar out of the $20,”declared the
sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man,” but he got
$10!” “Yeah, that’s right,” exclaimed the fifth man.
“I only saved a dollar, too. It’s unfair that he got
ten times more than I!” “That’s true!!” shouted the
seventh man. “Why should he get $10 back when I got
only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!” “Wait a minute,”
yelled the first four men in unison. “We didn’t get
anything at all. The system exploits the poor!”

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn’t show up for drinks,
so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But
when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something
important. They didn’t have enough money between all
of them for even half of the bill!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, journalists and college
professors, is how our tax system works. The people
who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from
a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for
being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore.
In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the
      atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

      Professor of Economics

I’m not sure how many say that global warming is a hoax, there well could be a warming trend occuring. The mis-statement of the progressives is calling it “man made”! Ten thousand years ago a climate change event wiped out many species, mamoth, wooly rhino, sabertooth cat, etc., six thousand years ago, climate change and Egypt is born. Four thousand years ago yet another event and Egypt dies. Several Meso-American cultures spring up, thrive for hundreds of years and then die in other climate change events, none of these “man made” Yet, according to the progressives, this one out of all the others has to be! I find that very foolish at best and criminal at worst!

    • taxpayer

Yes, better yet let’s put big oil out of business or force them to move to China. Wow! We will be free from that awful polluting gas. Then we can work on creating more government jobs and put people to work.

Actually Obama loaned Brazil billions of dollars to drill off their coast for oil so it is not all about the environment. He seems to be going out of his way to destroy the American economy. • Dennis

That wasn’t a loan, it was a gift with no return profit to America, This was a gift with OUR tax payer dollars, a gift to George Soros from Obama, George Soros and China will make all the profit from OUR $2 Billion in tax payer dollars.

      • Mike In MI

Well, Clarence – Look at it this way:
If they strip all the wealth out (not the dollars, but the wealth) of this country who’s going to be able to buy their cheap crap. Greece? England, Ireland, France, Japan?
Just learn to get by on less. What’d the pioneers get out to Kansas, Colorado and California in? SUV’s?
Just prepare yourself for what’s coming if we don’t get our energy pump in gear again. Energy provides some of the cement that holds society together. The biggest thing is a working, energized faith base. If you don’t have that your chances will be feduced dramatically – that’s been proven. (Liberalism is the opposite of faith. So, they won’t be around long to bother us once the stuff begins falling in the oscillating blades.)

      • Bruce D.

Red tape is a hidden tax. By its very nature, government power creates
transactional and compliance costs. Unchecked, government driven
regulatory environments are an ever expanding perpetual-motion machine.
Any bureaucracy is quickly captured by special-interest groups such as the beneficiaries of the regulation. Al Gore would be the beneficiary of green legislation poised to because the first green billionaire.

Cost Burden of Regulation on Small Business “Staggering”
By Jeff Cornwallon November 29, 2010
Winslow Sargeant, chief counsel for advocacy at the U.S. Small Business Administration, recently shared the following facts with the Senate Small Business Committee:

•Costs to meet Environmental Protection Agency rules average $22,000 per employee for a small manufacturing business. This compares to only $5,000 per employee for the large companies they are trying to compete with.
•The average costs for all small businesses to meet federal rules is $10,585 per worker.

•Small businesses face costs of meeting Internal Revenue Service tax regulations that are four times greater per employee than for large companies.
Why was he pointing out the regulatory nightmare for small business? To gain support for getting the federal regulators out of the way of entrepreneurs? Nope. It was simply to support the repeal of the dramatically expanded 1099 reporting requirements that were part of the Obama health care legislation.

      • thinking

        So Clarence
        “Regulation is distraction and scapegoat.
I have yet to hear ONE executive testify before Congress and give Numbers on Cost of Regulation vs Cost Of Labor.”
So required healthcare, required minimum wage, osha, tax regulations, EPA… have no effect on a business bottom line in the USA? So the only reason a company moves is because of labor costs and not because of high taxes? I understand that doctors who take Medicare have to have to hire at least one person to do all the required paper work for reimbursement. That affects their bottom line but government intervention in business does not affect the bottom line? Cool!

California regulation stifles local small business and economic growth
September 2nd, 2010 A recent study released by the State of California tallies the total cost of regulation to business in the State of California at almost 493 billion dollars per year—“almost five times the State’s general fund budget, and almost a third of the State’s gross product.” The result: a loss of approximately 3.8 million jobs due to overregulation, contributing to California’s 10.5 percent unemployment rate which as of early November 2009 became equivalent to federal levels.

Oh Oh might one you are right. We have regulated our country out of jobs, and what party might that be who is doing that? Bush! Right? The Republicans. Our control on oil drilling, that terrible stuff oil which is destroying our country, who is keeping that from being pumped in our country? Who is it that keeps talking about raising taxes more. See Clarence there are reasons for companies leaving our country besides labor. You just have to want to see them. Labor does have it’s problem in our country. No doubt about it. Mr. Know it all how is Obama making that better? Oh that’s right, it’s Bush’s fault, and the Republicans again. Oh by the way how’s that Climate Change Idea working out for our country. Where’s the real facts about that. Don’t give me the Democrats talking points or Al Gore’s b/s either. Just another question. How is green helping us? I think we have increased the CO2 count in our atmosphere just from the b/s that has been spread about this whole idea. Since when has CO2 been dangerous. Tell me how you make and use any energy without making some kind of CO2. How does making alcohol for fuel decrease the making of CO2. This is what we are spending our tax dollars on Clarence.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

The China thing you mentioned Clarence. Thats because CLINTON GAVE THEM OUR TOP SECRET TECHNOLOGY. Pay attention man, your missing a lot.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Clarence you leave out a lot of figures when your attacking big business. Such as, how many tax revenue dollars they create, not only in payroll taxes they pay, both Federal, State, Local, and half the social security we all pay, but all the jobs they hire the millions of people for, all pay taxes and spend money and buy houses and cars, all because big business is around to give them jobs. If people like you had your way, and chased all of them away and shut them down and taxed them to death, we would have the economy of Haiti here. Then what you gonna do Clarence? Blame Bush? Come on man. Big business is the straw that stirs the drink. Without them, this country is done and finished, check mate. And the democrats continue to attack them and demonize them, and make them fold and leave one by one, by either taxing them to death, or sending the jobs off to Mexico, ala Bill Clinton, the leper. Pay attention Clarence, your missing a lot.

      • Joyce from Loris

Obama also gave $2 billion to Mexico, to drill in the SAME AREAS of the Gulf of Mexico that he BANNED from drilling by American companies. Guess we will have to start buying oil from Mexico now, along with the purchases from Canada. Is America not good for ANYTHING anymore??

      • castaway

Yes, but our government ain’t worth a shit. It is killing us. We can no longer survive this government.

      • CLARENCE SWINNEY

        Joyce please.
Mexico is our second largest supplier of Oil to America.
Take out oil and imports from Mexico different picture.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Yeah, and force everyone to buy 65 thousand dollar solar panels to cover the roofs of their houses and their yards, and put up a bunch of ugly windmills everywhere and hope the wind blows and the sun shines everyday, especially when its really cold out. And make everyone buy electric cars that go 100 miles then die and need plugged in for 24 hours to charge. Those are really efficient. Say your driving to Colorado from Ohio on a vacation, you should get there in a month. Maybe. Unbelievable.

    • Doug

Why are they making a obscene profit and why do they charge so much. Gee could it be all the regulations that a bunch on morons that know nothing about oil production or maybe it the obsenene taxes paid to the federal government from the oil companies that the price is so high! But hey you and panty brothers can ride your bikes or walk why dont you be the first to winn yourself of oil now make sure you use no plastics and heating oil or NG to heat your home or cook your food. A good place for that would be some 3rd world country that is still in the stone age just where Obams and liberal communist are taking this country!

      • Bruce D.

One of the many really bad things the environmentalist did was encourage the use of plastic bags. They are not biodegradable. You can grow a paper tree in 3 to 5 years depending on the rain you get. A good business destroyed by environmentalist that only made the environment worst.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

And the ones that bitch the most about the oil companies, are liberals like Barbara Streisand and others that fly private jets from coast to coast, using more fuel in a day than I can in a year, then get to the airport, jump into a Hummer limousine, drive to the venture they are speaking at, tell everyone how evil the oil companies are and that we should just stop using oil altogether, then get back into her Hummer limo, drive to the airport, and fly her private jet across the country. Stinking hypocrites. The left wing consists of them. They are truly todays Pharisees. And for those of you who dont know who the Pharisee’s were, they were these so called high preists and rabbi’s in the Bible, that always wore the most expensive materials in their gowns. And they had the choicest seats at all events, and they were always where they could be seen by the public at gatherings. If they ever did any giving or doing good things, they made sure it was for all to see. But they did their evil behind closed doors, and took bribes and pocketed money for themselves, as they were the “do as I say, not as I do” kind of guys. They forgot that they could hide things from man, but they couldnt hide them from God. When we conduct our daily lives, we all need to keep that in mind. What we say and do, all of it is seen, by someone who can and will hold us accountable for it.

Don’t be fooled. The confiscation of lands and declaring them “federal wildlife lands” is not about global warming or preserving the earth. It is about using the lands as collateral against more loans that “O what a BUMA” wants to take to pay for his pet programs. He is giving the USA away and would like to see a ONE WORLD ORDER with the USA leading the way. He is more for the United Nations than he is for our our USA.

    • Bruce D.

Polski while oil companies do make a lot of money the percentage of their profits is under the norm for business.

      • taxpayer

the cost of regulations and taxes is passed to the consumer! So expect higher costs for everything as it takes energy to make and move products to maket, even if they come from China, good luck on your pay if you have a job paying for all these increases in cost.

    • DudeA

Oh yeah! Let the planet Earth be destroyed……99% of the global warming is caused by the sun. Lets put out the Sun and stop global warming – what a moron. Well why not all of us go back to the stone age and have nil greenhouse gas emissions.

Global warming is a hoax. If it is not why are these so called “scientists” not sharing the raw data. Why was the story about the leaked mails snuffed out?

Obamination cant even produce his long form birth certificate for the simple reason he doesnt have one. He is not constitutionally eligible to be the president. After two years, Obama should be able to stand on his actions instead he keeps driving the car off the cliff and into the Grand Canyon. We should be able to learn from the mistakes of the past and take a path that corrects them.

      • Mike In MI

Just in case everybody forgot let’s remember that all this stupidity about using too much oil was all started because the entire left was jumping into the abyss of “global warming” nonsense. Well, the official marxist spokesman for global warming – Al Gore – officially reversed his position and has decided the earth is “cooling down”. So, let’s all start screaming that we’re freezing and need gas and oil in abundance to get the atmosphere heating up again.
By jingoes it is a wonder how the earth ever made it this far without the power of man to manipulate the temperature of the universe on a moment’s notice.
Either we get rid of the dictator in the WH or he’ll soon be getting rid of us by Executive Directive. Where are the checks ad balances this government is supposed to run by?

      • Granny Mae

        mar,

I’m with you. It is useless to continue to lay blame because it solves nothing ! At this point in time I don’t care who did what, all I care is how do we fix this mess before this country is completely lost. Is it benefiting this country and jobs to continue the moritorium on drilling? How many jobs do we have to give up before someone realizes that to wipe out energy producing jobs and space jobs that pay a real good living and replace them with jos at McDonalds and raking pine straw just isn’t getting it! I hear all this talk about going green and doing the solar pannel thing and how great it is but my husband and I looked into it quite some time ago and it isn’t all it is cracked up to be if you are in the low income bracket. The pannels are very expensive and we were told it would take 20 or more years to recoup our investment. Then there are the batteries that you have to buy and replace every so often and they are not cheap by any means, plus they have a disposal problem. Once we have the house all converted to solar then we have to buy special appliances and the list goes on. I wonder if Obama is going to pay for all this and if he is where is he going to get all the money to do it? All these new so called electric cars that we are suppose to be able to buy and drive around for our needs are electric in town but if you need to drive out on the open road you have to go with the gas! If you have to drive on the open road often like most of us you are not saving anything. I think we should keep improving the green industry but you can’t just stop using oil or even cut back until you have the stuff to replace it at a reasonable price. How do you convert the getto over to solar? Who is going to pay for it and will it even work. Then while all this is getting done how do you continue to take care of the people effected by all the stages of transformation? Someone needs to come up with a good working plan and stop all this big talk ! By the way I understand the majority of solar panels made reasonable today are made in China and not the US. Sure doesn’t sound like a way to creat jobs to me . Well let me take that back, it will creat jobs for China but not for the US !

      • http://att.net joan l mcgrath

Mar, you forgot real fast when Bush went in he had a surplus when he went out we were in debt up to our ears,Obama has worked wonders even though the g o p . has done nothing but hinder him in everything he has tried to accomplish they only want thebig moneyed to get everything when allthe time they were talking about this big deficit. They want Obama to be a1 year presdent out of their own mouths this was told by oconnel and he meant it , he should be ashamed of himself. without Obama they would be in a bigger mess, they do NOT think of you and me only the moneyfor their big business and theirjobs that are shipped out of state so the jobs here are overseas where labour is cheap and the unemployment here is not helped one little bit.

      • AJGS

Obama wants to run again in 2012. He shouldn’t be allowed to run. Anyone who doesn’t uphold the constitution shouldn’t be president. He has obviously stepped on the constitution and the American people.
He should not only be impeached but fired from office along with his colleagues. Lets get our country back.

      • Mike In MI

        AJGS -
Absolutely right. The first of the treason charges against him in his impeachment should be breach of his vows to uphold and protect the Constitution and the second, third, fourth and fifth should be proposing, arguing for and signing legislation that attacks, contravenes and attempts to nullify elements of the Constitution of the United States of America. Or, maybe we should just require Congress to do what they should have done at the outset two years ago – make Obumbler prove his eligibilty for the office. Since it has never been done (and it seems the Supreme Court is being blocked by two Obama appointees who refuse to recuse themselves, in spite of obvious conflicts of interest – Sotomaior and ellen ???Snitschzelsucher) now is not too late a date…like tomorrow!!!

      • Granny Mae

        Mike In Mich

I agree. I wonder if it will really happen though? He is already ramping up his campaign for 2012. Everything is going in motion and congress is so preocupied with the health care bill and so many other things I doubt they will even consider it and Obama is taking advantage of the distraction. Our side needs to be working just as hard right now but I can see they don’t have the funds and I’m wondering if they have anyone that can stand up to the Obama snow job ! I know of several people I might like but I don’t know if they can out do the Obama snow and it is coming soon !

      • Mike In MI

        Well, Granny Mae,
There’s one thing I know we as God and America loving people can do – volunteer to get out and talk. Don’t argue, spit and spout. Take a jar of honey and tell people about the good that can be done by putting better folks in office. Slather them with your sweetness and volunteer, volunteer, volunteer. If they jump at you and attack like Cris Matthews did on Rush and Savage just move on. Bless them and move on.
That can’t cost too much to the people you support and do it expecting to paint the map blue.

      • bobby walker

YOU WANT THE REAL REASON THIS COUNTRY IS IN TROUBLE; ITS THE EPA. WE COULD BE PAYING 50 CENTS A GALLON FOR GAS AND NEVER DEAL WITH OPEC AGAIN. THERE IS MORE OIL UNDER THIS COUNTRY THAN THE REST OF THE WORLD PUT TOGETHER. YET NO ONE WILL MAKE IT PUBLIC TO US, AMERICANS. DRILLING DOES NOT HURT THE COUNTRYSIDE. I LIVE IN AN OILFIELD AREA AND THE ANIMALS, (ALL OT THEM NEED THINNING OUT, ESPECIALY THE DEER) AND THERE ARE HUNTERS A PLENTY AROUND HERE. THE GROUND WATER IS FINE AND THE DRILLING AROUND HERE STARTED IN THE LATE 30′S. READ WHAT IM ADDING TO HIS COMMENT AND CHECK IT OUT YOURSELVES, CAUSE WE COULD BE OUT OPEC AND SELLING OIL WORLD WIDE CHEAPER THAN OPEC……………..

: OIL – you better sit down.

I was surprised by this bit of info. Thats’ not what we have been hearing in the news. Check it out , if you don’t believe it..

        Now this IS interesting!!!

Here’s an interesting read, important and verifiable information :

About 6 months ago, the writer was watching a news program on oil and
one of the Forbes Bros. was the guest. The host said to Forbes, “I am going to
ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer; how much oil
does the U.S. have in the ground?” Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, “more
than all the Middle East put together.” Please read below.

The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April 2008 that only
scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a
revised report (hadn’t been updated since 1995) on how much oil was in
this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota , western South Dakota , and
extreme eastern Montana …… check THIS out:

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska ‘s Prudhoe
Bay,and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign
        oil.
The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion
barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable….. at $107 a barrel,
we’re looking at a resource base worth more than $5….3 trillion.

“When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see
their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.” says Terry Johnson, the Montana
        Legislature’s financial analyst.

“This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found
in the past 56 years,” reports The Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It’s a
formation known as the Williston Basin , but is more commonly referred to as the
‘Bakken.’ It stretches from Northern Montana, through North Dakota and
into Canada . For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead
end. Even the ‘Big Oil’ companies gave up searching for major oil wells
decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up
the Bakken’s massive reserves….. and we now have access of up to 500
billion barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels
will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!

That’s enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years
straight. And if THAT didn’t throw you on the floor, then this next one
        should – because it’s from 2006!

        U. S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World

        Stansberry Report Online – 4/20/2006

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the
largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION
barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In
three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this
motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?

They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders,
than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:

        – 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia

        – 18-times as much oil as Iraq

        – 21-times as much oil as Kuwait

        – 22-times as much oil as Iran

        – 500-times as much oil as Yemen

        – and it’s all right here in the Western United States .

HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the
environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America
become independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of
people dictate our lives and our economy…..WHY?

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we’ve got more oil in
this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION
barrels untapped. That’s more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in
the world today, reports The Denver Post.

Don’t think ‘OPEC’ will drop its price – even with this find? Think
        again!
It’s all about the competitive marketplace, – it has to… Think OPEC just
        might be funding the environmentalists?

Got your attention yet? Now, while you’re thinking about it, do this:

Pass this along. If you don’t take a little time to do this, then you
should stifle yourself the next time you complain about gas prices – by
doing NOTHING, you forfeit your right to complain.

        ——–

Now I just wonder what would happen in this country if every one of you
sent this to every one in your address book.

By the way…this is all true. Check it out at the link below!!!

GOOGLE it, or follow this link. It will blow your mind.

Great and informative post, bobby walker.

FYI, through inheritance, my wife has like 1% ownership in 11 oil wells. Eight of them were capped off, so she actually gets about $200 a month. We spend that much a month on gas just driving locally.

Also FYI, Haynesville, Louisiana, is the site of (get ready for this)the 4th largest shale gas deposit in the WORLD. If every car in the U.S. switch over to LP gas or natural gas, instead of gasoline, there is enough gas in Louisiana alone to run the country for oh, approximately 1,000 years.

I can’t verify this immediately, but I read somewhere that we only take about 5 percent of Arab oil. The bulk of it is shipped to England. So, our troops are over in Iraq and Afghanistan protecting the Kuwait oilfields so Great Britain can have plenty of cheap oil.

Welcome to the New World Order and the corruption and theft of the international bankers such as our own Federal Reserve.

Bush is gone, has been for over two years. Quit blaming him for the current situation. Repeat, he is gone, and has been for two years. Remember the war for oil in Iraq? Hey, were still there. I guess the national press lied about that also now didnt they, unless Obama is waging a war for oil. And Bush’s illegal war, you know, the one all the democrats voted for. Oh wait, its still going on, so I guess its now Obama and the democrats illegal war. Funny I dont hear the liberals calling it that. Hmm. Mighty strange that is indeed. This Obama admin is in power, has been for 2 years, and are still content to point fingers and blame everyone else. Now thats leadership. Not. I cant wait until 2012 when they are gone, because being that they are in power right now, I do blame them, and I can blame them, because they are the ones not doing a damn thing. And thats the truth sir, so pull your head out, quit blaming others, and pull up your big girl panties and join the human race.

Clarence Swinney is a blatant liar. Bill Clinton did not enlarge the FBI budget or intelligence. Rather sir, it is a fact, he cut it almost in half, which allowed all these terrorists to not only enter into the country, but to communicate over a 5 year period, undetected because all the intelligence was cut by Clinton, and they formed and put into action the events of 9-11, the largest loss of life on American Soil, all due to the efforts of one Bill Clinton. You make him out to be tough on terror and your a liar. Not only did he cut our military and intelligence in half and leave us vulnerable sir, he allowed them to blow up the basement of the World Trade Centers the first time, and did nothing. He watched them blow up the USS Cole and did absolutely nothing. And he allowed them to drag our dead naked through the streets of Somalia, celebrating on live TV, and again, he did nothing. The guy was a pacifist loser, whose only striking action came in lobbing bombs all over Sarajevo helping them in their ethnic cleansing. He was a worthless pervert, always has been nothing more than white trash with money, and there is more dirt coming out daily about him every year sir. He had Vince Foster and Ron Brown murdered, and many, many more. Absolutely, without doubt, the worst president we have ever had. And the way you kiss is feet, shows just what a huge ass you are.

In your one post you state that Clinton did so much against terrorism, but you forget that he had a Rep Congress for six out of his eight years. They are the ones who write up all the bills to get all these things done. And if he was obsessed with bin Laden, WHY didn’t he take him out when he had the chance?

In another post you go on about how Fannie and Freddie aren’t responsible for all the bad mortgages they sold. I guess you never read about the CEO from Fannie (Barney Frank’s boyfriend) who cooked the books to make $90 million in bonuses. And I guess you never read about how Reps tried to stop Fannie and Freddie several times, but Frank blocked any interferrence to his boyfriend’s deception! If it’s NOT a Democrat “thing” then WHY didn’t the Dems go after these crooks that caused the meltdown in the first place?

There’s enough “blame” to go around on both sides! It’s not Dem agains Rep, but the people against the government if we want to keep any of our freedoms. When you realize that, the country will be one step closer to getting our freedom back! The more people who wake up to the game that the government is playing, the sooner we can start to recover from their socialist manipulations of our lives!

In my opinion Bush was a player either knowing or not in the scheme to destroy America by the evil forces of the left.

Obama is the end game face and voice of the evil “sinistra” orchastrating the demise of America, to stop drilling for oil, without a solid alternative is at best a national security nightmare, but in my opinion it is huge engineered step to destroy the economy and topple the dollar from its global status thus sealing the fate of America to a second rate country mired in debt and economic collapse.

This collapse will lead to riots and civil unrest, this is when evil commies call in the UN troops,(because Obama either sent ours out of the country) and start shooting Americans. Eventually taking over.

They are engineering a takeover of America – banana republic style.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

That was Clintons idea that everyone should live the American dream of owning a home. Thats fine and dandy in thought, but in reality, one must be able to afford what they buy. But Clinton set up this banking thing with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac funds, and had the government guarantee the loans, so the banks willingly and knowingly lent money to people they knew didnt have a snow balls chance in hell of paying it back. Plus it was run very corruptly by top democrats Franklin Raines and Jamie Gorelick, who were busy writing million dollar bonuses to their democratic friends out of these funds, then a few years down the line, it catches up and the banks collapse, and whoa, its Bush’s fault. Aint that special how the left can spin things and is never, ever, held responsible for their actions by the press. Just like now, Obama gets a free pass on the birth certificate and college papers, when the press should be hammering him on it to fully divulge this stuff, and they should be asking questions as to why he has spent close to a quarter of a million dollars in legal fees to keep from having to show them. If this was a Republican or Libertarian, the press from ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN and MSNBC would be nightly talking about this hour after hour until something was done. But this guy gets a pass. Imagine that.

      Jim,
Excuse me, that wasn’t Bush that raised the price of oil to cause $4 a gallon gas. Bush took action and allowed oil drilling off the coast, which Obama stopped last year. Then the Saudis dropped the price of a barrel of oil and gas went down immediately to $3 a gallon. And gradually went down from there. Where were you when Obama stopped the oil drilling in almost every place the U. S. can drill here. What a complete hypocrite!!!!!!!!!

      • Allen

John, good comments concerning Jim. And, I am happy to see that you could spell hypocrite. That was a word that Capital Letters Jim was unable to spell yesterday.

I am having rememberings of not being able to get gas and when we could it was nearly $5 a gallon, after Katrina, when for whatever reasons NC at least in the mountains was not receiving shipments of gas,

      • Joyce from Loris

You are right! I was in the mountains of NC, gas went to $5 a gallon! We bought just enough to get us over the mountains, but once we were on the other side, it was still $4 a gallon. Several stations were OUT OF GAS. What a mess, and an expensive trip.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

How dare you lay the truth down to the liberal left. How dare you. You cannot speak the truth to them. Now you shall surely be labeled a hater. I cant believe you told the truth to them. For all their days, they will not understand what you have said, because the truth just eludes them. It is a foreign thing to them. But we can try to bring it to them.

    • Dennis

You sound like the typical liberal, always wanting to blame someone, but don’t except blame for what you did. BVush made mistakes, but guess you don’t.The dems and obama are ruining this country with their socialist policies, and people like you can not see for blameing others. The ban on drilling has and will ake us more depemdent on others, green energy is something that needs to be done slowly, it needs to be produced at a reasonable price, not mandated by some goon in Washington, that goon being in the EPA or the White House.

      • DaveH

It needs to be done by Free Markets. The Liberal Greens are actually putting our energy independence further into the future by impoverishing us now. Research takes money. Rendering us poor now means that we will be able to afford less research into green energy when we need it. I think the Liberals know that. I think their real goal is simply redistribution of wealth and total control of our lives.

You can find my numbers on the youtube video (I didn’t make it) called “Democrats in their own words” talking about how the GSEs Fannie and Freddie were sound and didn’t need any oversight while the Republicans were saying they did. Also consider Ron Paul’s bill to Audit the Federal Reserve and ask youself why 135 Democrats suddenly turned their back and vote against the watered down version implanted in a financial regulation overhaul bill. The next thing they want to do is raise the debt ceiling so the government can operate through March. I suggest calling your Congressperson and Senators and telling them not to support raising the debt ceiling.

Then again, they’ll do what they want anyway. The DC swithboards crashed from consituents calling to tell them not to support any bank bailouts only for them to vote for them anyway. I say in 2012, down with both parties. Let’s clean house (and the Senate) and vote in either Libertarians or some random obscure 3rd party and kick these two corporate aligned parties to the curb. Personally though, I’ll vote Ron Paul for President in 2012 and write him in if he’s not on the ballot. It’s as good a start as any.

Clinton disassembled our military. He allowed Osama Bin Laden to escape after he masterminded the first bombing of the twin towers. Our economy was in good shape until the democratic congress took over and Barney Frank and Dodd destroyed the housing market by pushing toxic loans. Bush made his mistakes, but to his credit, he tried several times to put a stop to what was happening in the housing market, but congress would not let him stop the thieving dems.

WHINNEY, YOU ARE SO FULL OF SHEET i BET YOUR EYES ARE BROWN, YOU ARE NOTHIGN BUT A COMMIE MOUTHPIECE FOR THE LEFT, THAT’S CLINTON, OBAMA AND YES BUSH, GO TO HUFF POST WHERE THEY WILL AGREE WITH YOU, YOUR SO CALLED FACTS ARE NOTHING MORE THAN RADICAL LEFT PROPAGANDA

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Lets see. Clinton fumbled, and threw 3 interceptions, and was sacked 10 times. Bush ran for 7 touchdowns and threw for 7 more. Obama comes in off the bench, proceeds to sell his team to his opponent and throws the game, in favor of his muslim brethren. Any questions?

      • mar

good grief, again the long, boring posts about how bad Bush was. Why don’t you tell us how great the present administration is? It is hard even for far left to support with facts what is going on now so they have to continue to try and drag down the past administration. Learn from the past mistakes, whoever made them, and move to improve on the past.

        Clarence -
You got it right. Anybody who questions it just remember that the Bush family is in oil up to their eyebows and had everything to gainby what Clarence has laid his finger on. So, if you’re a Bush lover consider Clarence’s finger in your eye. It’s been due for a long time. In most respects Bush was just foreplay until BO really stunk up the place.

      • Mike In MI

Clarece – just be careful blaming a balanced budget on the president. He’s got zero to do with how much gets spent or where. That’s the H of Reps.

      • CLARENCE SWINNEY

Mike please refer to February Budget Resolution.
The President and Congress agree on TOTAL SPENDING
The President submits 13 appropriation bills inside that number.
each of 13 is massaged–upped downed etc by Congress.
DOA is true for each President.Reagan big Defense request was chopped and changed to social programs.

Still-President is responsible for setting TOTAL goal.

        We spent 6066B from 1930 to 1981
        Reagan 8 totaled ovr 7000B.

      • Mike In MI

        Clarence -
BUDGET RESOLUTION??? Where do you read “BUDGET RESOLUTION” in the Constitution of the United States of America? Maybe the Confused States of Obamadom but that only counts for anything in the places where Sharia law reigns.
The Constiution makes some plain simple statements about the process:
President proposes a budget or recomendations on actions he would like to see taken up. (Do I recall in the early 1980′s Tip O’Neil crowing that Reagan’s Budget was dead-on-arrival?)
Then they treated it and him that way. ’cause they could and they didn’t want to take it up.
Call it “Continuing Budget Resolution” because they never carried out the Constitutional demand to submit, debate, pass and sign something that the American people could get ahold of and read to find out where the money’s GOING.
If you’re an history scholar Id say you never had a student. Student’s study something real and your reality is deeply challenged.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

And what Reagan had to spend cleaning up after the messes that Kennedy, Johnson and Carter had caused, got the country rolling so good, that it took 4 years of Bush 1 and 6 years of Clinton to screw it up, most the last 6 by Clinton. He rode the coat tails of Reagans policies, and we all know that. Clinton screwed everything and everyone he touched, and the others he just had killed.

      • Pete NY “R I P FEDERAL RESERVE BANK”

You boasted: CLINTON AND ENERGY DEPT FOUGHT OPEC
KEEP PRICE $25-30 PER BBL. GOOD PROFIT.
        THEY FOUGHT.

RUBBISH. Clinton admin benefited from the discovery of oil in the North Sea. That alone forced the price of oil down. Fought OPEC, what a laugh!

Today, N. Sea oil is dwindling, see how the price is gradually rising. Clinton was a complete lame brain re: understanding supply and demand. No one wants to develop realistic alternative fuels; but they want to stop drilling. That is so lame.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Here you go A-hole. What did Bush do that was great? After the Arabs set up 9-11 all through the Clinton years, Bush put together a team called Homeland Security, that has kept us safe to this day. There, thats one thing I personally find as being pretty damn great. 2. He freed a country of a couple of million people from a murdering tyrant. There you go, thats 2. 3. He rebuilt our military and intelligence agencies that Bill Clinton had cut in half, leaving us vulnerable, and now, again to this day, we are still safe because of his actions, undoing Bill Clintons inactions. 4. He said what he was going to do when he got elected, and he did what he said he was going to do. Under him, employment in this country was at an all time high, ever. Under him, unemployment was at an alltime low, ever. Under him the stock market reached an all time high, ever. Gee. Best marks of all time in all 3 of those categories. Id call that pretty damn great. Now, you opened your uneducated mouth, saying you would like to know, and sir, now you have been educated, and you know. So be careful what you ask for, you just may get it. Of course, these are just the facts and all truths, if they mean anything at all to you. Being that you are carrying a left wing agenda around though, I seriously doubt if any amount of truth means anything at all to you. But your assessment of George Bush is dead wrong. Did he make mistakes? Sure. They all do. But he did good things during his time. Now I will challenge you the same, and dont lie. We will all know if your lying. What great things can Obama lay claim to? Shoving a non funded health care program illegally down the throats of 70 percent of the people that dont want it, thus endangering the best healthcare system in the world? No sir, thats a sad thing. Giving billion dollar rewards to GM and Chrysler as a reward for failing to run their business properly, thats not a good thing, let alone great. And mind you, its illegal for the government to take over private companies like that. Maybe for using our tax dollars to fund abortions overseas? No, again, thats not a good thing, let alone a great thing. Gee, seems there is nothing. Tell me some lies, what has he done. We are all waiting with baited breath.

Truth is Clarence, and look it up if you really want to know the truth. The economy, at Bush’s lowest point, once he was in office for at least a year, was higher that Clintons highest point. Thats right, Bush’ economy at its low, was higher than Clinton’s high. Put that in you pipe and smoke it Clarence, now go tell you lies to someone else.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You are such a bad liar. Crediting Clinton with peace on earth? Are you on drugs. With Clinton we got the WTC basement bombed. We got the USS Cole bombed. He lobbed a billion dollars worth of bombs aimlessley into Sarajevo aiding their ethnic cleansing efforts. Then he gave China our technology, which they will be using against us one day. Peace on earth, no sir, not this guy. He was a liar, a cheat, a swindler, and he had many, many people killed who were going to expose him. You are a fool to label a leper like him as a hero like you think. A flaming fool at that.

    • Dad

…”Bush letting oil companies”… what are you talking about? The market sets the price based on supply and demand (with the exception of futures traders). Bush tried to drill a miniscule area in ANWAR, alaska national wildlife reserve, and the Democratic congress stopped it. Bush took other actions to bring the prices down… but we are almost TOTALLY DEPENDENT on foriegn oil… this is what the column is about and thst is your culprit. It is written for informed people. There are several in this blog… try to keep up.

The problem with liberals is that they know so much that just isn’t true. Ready to drill yet?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

But how can we possible be dependant on foreign oil. Jimmy Carter founded the Department of Energy back on August 8, 1977, to wean us off of our dependance of foreign oil. Today over 200,000 people work for this department, and we are using more foreign oil than ever. Imagine that.

    • BarbB

More of Bush’s fault. Yes, he made mistakes, but he’s been gone long enough now to focus on the current president. I don’t remember Bush blaming Clinton’s negligence in security which caused 911, do you? It’s all about character and pointing fingers. When you point your finger at one person, notice…you have 3 fingers point back at you. Stop the blame game. Yes NO ONE is without fault. But lets get out of the past in into the future. Obama, in my opinion, is not a good leader. I feel he is very immature and makes decisions based on what he feels people want to hear, not what’s best. He certainly knows how to talk the talk, but doesn’t know how to walk the walk. Well, he does know how to strut! :) . Can anyone come up with a good way to get rid of government? I think that’s where we need to start. It has grown way too big, costing us way too much of our taxes and we have too many politicians unqualified for the job and once elected, they cater to those who will support them…not us. With all their promises to “fix” our oil problem and to rid us of the lobbyists, has anything changed? It’s all about money..greed..corruption. I’m sure God is angry and what we have done to HIS country.

      • castaway

How about a full scale revolution to over throw the White House. Where is the ‘Get er done’ crowd when we need them. I think you all like to bitch, but are afraid of a good fight. A fight is what it will take to get our republic back, and run by the constitution and the people. It will take bullets to get the power mongers to let go! If you do not have the common sense, to see what is happening and what the solution is, then stop bitching.

      • Pete NY “R I P FEDERAL RESERVE BANK”

I make a logical argument in my book that the Big Gov. condition is the direct result of the Federal Reserve Bank. Thus, get rid of that and goverment automatically shrinks down to size like air leaving a balloon.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Bush wasnt perfect, as are none of us. But I remember when he took over for Clinton, we were in a huge recession. I never once heard him, his cabinet, the national press, or anyone point fingers at Clinton and say “Look at the mess Billy left us in”. Not once. I saw a guy and his cabinet roll up their sleeves and go to work, and in two years, the economy was rolling along pretty darn well. These idiots in charge now, and still doing as they did on election day, pointing fingers and placing blame, and instead of being part of the solution, they are the problem. They have taken a hole, and instead of filling it in, they brought in 200 backhoes and escavated it out into this great big hole, and its getting bigger and bigger everyday, and meanwhile, they are not forming any solutions to fill it in, only it seems, trying to figure out how they can make it even bigger. And meanwhile, the liberal press gives them a free pass. It makes me sick.

      • CLARENCE SWINNEY

        Recession under Clinton??

        Began in 2001 under Bushaloon

Alan Greenspan put in six significant interest rate hikes June 1999-June 2000–Tightened money supply

        WHY elect a Republcian.

He did same in 1996 election campaign.

        Seven significant interest rate hikes.
        Hire a Republican. Only reason.

        Alan a die hard R.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

No sir. Clintons last two years spiralled deep into a hole, when all his dirty deeds were coming to a head, and he couldnt ride the coat tails of all the things Ronald Reagan put in place anymore. He rode those good things Reagan put in place, until he rode them into the ground. He left us a huge mess, a huge recession, and he did not balance the budget or have a surplus as he tried to tell us. The dude was the biggest liar on earth, and proved it over and over. And now you really expect us to believe he balanced the budget? He raped social security, he pillaged the military and intelligence, and took that money, and added it as good, and said he balanced the budget and had a surplus, and it was all smoke and mirrors. He left us in dire straights, with our jobs sent to Mexico and our technology sent to China that we still will pay for with many lives one of these days. He sucked, and I know it, you know it, and the American public knows it. He was a perverted little leper, white trash with money. Him and his hillbilly wife.

He also complains the writer failed to make his point because he “layed” out his position improperly. Hey Bmene, when changing lay to layed, it actually becomes laid, something you must have missed in 3rd grade.

Now see, I was going to ask just the opposite, because I deal in reality in truth. When Bush was president, and gas prices started hitting 3.00 and 3.10 a gallon, the press and the liberals were all over his admin, you know, the Bush/Cheney/Halliburton big oil connection thing. That was all I heard from both the national liberal press and all the left wing parrots everywhere. But here we are, and not a stinking peep out of the Katie Courics and Keith Olbermans and the other liberal stink mongers. Why is that? I find it pretty amazing that this guy can stink the place up, illegally take over companies, illegally shove a health care system that will bust our backs right down our throats, give lawyers to enemy terrorists, and he gets a free pass. Where is the press on finding out about his birth certificate and college papers, and why he has spent nearly a quarter of a million dollar in legal fees fighting to keep them hidden? Where are they at? I would really like to know. They seem to have no interest in reporting the truth and the facts, and that is a shame, because that is THEIR JOB. And you Jim, live in a fishbowl with blinders on your eyes and ears, as Bush was crucified over gas prices. Can you not remember that long ago? Wake up man.

And our wonderful press of ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC never seems to bring this up at all. Isnt that amazing? Is it just me that notices how crooked they are? How can anyone honestly believe anything that they report, when they are this way? What a bunch of biased lying jerks they all are. And yet, they still havent figured out why their ratings are going down and down and down. Imagine that.

    • TERRY

Guess what obama was senator when bush was president he helped spend money then that is why Ill going for 66% state tax!!! Gee he couldn’t run Ill and keep it in the black so how in the hell can he run America!!! Gee he can’t look at the deficit now!!! You idiot people who think it is bush’s fault need to go back and get their diploma so they can understand simple economics and running a check book in the black. obama has NEVER ran a business much less held a job and basically doesn’t have experience to run a small business!!!! I definitely wouldn’t hire him to run my business. Now when I interview people to work in my business if they are not qualified I tell them you know I have no opportunity for you but you are qualified to be a Supreme court judge or hey what about President of United States!!!! LOL

    • Tea Leaf

Jim, Just to make you happy, lets all agree that Bush did not do everything perfectly. If you can not see where Obama and the demorats are taking you and all Americans, you choose to be blind. Taking over health-care, internet, media (who disagree with him), Auto industry, Banking industry, Wall street, stealing from medicare, rufusing to stop illegal immigration, prosecuting hate crimes only when perpetrated by whites, using tax dollars to refurbish Mosques worldwide, flying about willy-nilly polluting the upper atmosphere with hydrocarbons like no other President before him, while demanding that we cut down on the size of our carbon footprint. We don’t need him he needs believers like you! Dedicated to blame others.
