The TSA, Beetles and Ecstasy

December 16, 2010 by

The TSA, Beetles and Ecstasy

Since the Transportation Security Administration began its Barney Frank Anti-Terrorist Fondling operation, a whole lot of people who heretofore had appeared to be immune to the Tea Party virus have begun to awaken from their Oprah slumber.

By “Oprah slumber,” I’m referring metaphorically to the Orwellian scene that occurred when Oprah Winfrey told a recent audience that each of them would be receiving a new Volkswagen Beetle. As the omnibenevolent queen of mass-audience hypnotism shrieked the good news to her adoring flock, both men and women went into a frenzy that made the reaction to the 1964 U.S. invasion of the singing Beatles seem like a church outing by comparison.

On hearing the news, the lucky folks who had come to the studio thinking they were in for nothing more than a standard dose of mind-numbing talk-show chatter began screaming, laughing, hugging, waving their arms wildly and, yes, crying. Some even got down on their knees, apparently to praise the almighty Goddess of Stuff who giveth free Beetles to total strangers.

After viewing Oprah’s version of Brazil’s Carnival on YouTube, I expressed my bewilderment to a friend, only to have him say, "Hey, I can understand people getting excited about being on the receiving end of a new car. Nothing abnormal about that."

Alas, he missed the point. I, too, can understand why a person would get excited about someone giving him a new car, but what I witnessed was way beyond mere excitement. It was something akin to C.S. Lewis’ pure joy. It was the kind of ecstasy one might expect to see in people who have just been informed that the Messiah has returned to earth.

In other words, neither excitement nor happiness was the issue. The issue was that the reaction was way out of proportion to the news. It bothered me because it was yet another reminder that Americans — and most of what is left of the so-called civilized world — have lost their way (and, one might justifiably argue, their minds).

It was right up there with sports fans wildly cheering multimillionaire athletes, movie buffs worshipping Hollywood actors who appear as experts before Congress and the walking dead who camp out in front of Best Buy for the privilege of purchasing "stuff" as early in the morning as possible.

Following the show, Volkswagen of America CEO Jonathan Browning unwittingly gave an excellent insight into the madness when he issued a statement that said, in part, "Oprah Winfrey and the Volkswagen Beetle are two American icons, so when the Oprah show approached us with this incredible opportunity to share her Beetle experience with deserving viewers, we instantly wanted to be a part of it."

Question: What the hell is a "deserving viewer?" Is every viewer deserving? Of what? Why? The reason an intelligent CEO of a major corporation would say something so eminently silly is that the masses must be constantly told they are deserving… they are entitled… they are, above all, "hard-working Americans" — even if they’re receiving unemployment benefits.

There’s no question that children respond well to this kind of reassurance. The only problem is that these were not children. They were adults!

The whole thing was reminiscent of a scene from Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World when Mustapha Mond, the supreme government power holder, said to the awed and confused Savage from the Indian reservation, "The optimum population is modeled on the iceberg — eight-ninths below the water line, one-ninth above."

"And they’re happy below the water line?" asked the Savage.

"Happier than above it," replied Mustapha Mond.

Those shrieking people in Oprah’s audience are below the water line — way below. And when you’re below the water line, your mind is filled with thoughts of free stuff, today’s reality-show lineup and the latest rumors that Brett Favre will soon be forced into a nursing home. These are the kinds of blissful thoughts that make for a happy savage.

Which brings me back to the TSA’s Barney Frank Anti-Terrorist Fondling operation. When the reality that a Marxist had moved into the White House began setting in with people, millions spontaneously rebelled and became part of a new Tea Party movement.

But millions more refused to come to grips with what was happening before their very eyes. They rejected the notion that Barack Obama was anything but a personable chap who had, bless his youthful heart, simply flirted with far-left ideology as a college kid. Van Jones, Anita Dunn, John Holdren, Mark Lloyd, Cass Sunstein, et al were simply figments of Glenn Beck’s imagination.

Now, however, as a result of the TSA’s police-state tactics, I believe a second wave of people are ripe prospects for the Tea Party rebellion. And it may not be a peaceful rebellion if the Feds don’t reign in the perverts who are molesting our wives, our mothers, our children and our grandchildren.

At the recent New Orleans Investment Conference, I participated in the "Summit on America’s Future" panel discussion with Charles Krauthammer, Newt Gingrich and Dick Armey. When the moderator, Gary Alexander, asked if we thought America’s decline as a great civilization was inevitable, Krauthammer summed it up perfectly: "Decline is a choice. It’s not inevitable."

Meaning, in the end, it’s strictly up to us. We can continue to be the United States of Stuff, with our minds below the water line, or we can wake up, grow up and push back hard against an oppressive government. At the end of the day, it’s a clear choice between submission and all-out resistance in an effort to re-establish the foundations of our once free and proud republic.

Beetles be damned, if we could accomplish the latter, that would be a legitimate reason for being ecstatic.

    Val,

Sure the USA is filled with bigotry and 99% of it resides inside you ;)

  • R

I don’t particularly care for Oprah because her of “new age” worship and Hollywood stance. However, she is free to give away cars if she pleases. The real issue is the overly focused attention that is put on the Hollywood figures. If an everyday wealthy unknown person decided to give away cars to people, it would be a gift or blessing but somehow, it seems almost fake coming from Oprah and the volkswagen folks. But again who cares; Let the people be happy. Would you not take a volkswagen if one was given to you even though you may have a nice running car. You could give it to someone who doesn’t have transportation. The people in this country just need to put all the materialism in perspective. We have more(and then some)
than most people in the world. It’s nice to receive gifts sometimes and then its nice to give to others as well even you are not as rich as Oprah. If we could only get that….

    • DaveH

We achieved that materialistic wealth, not because the Rich have thrown us crumbs, but by the hard work, education, sacrifice, and innovation that was enabled by our Former Freedom. We are losing that environment of freedom now thanks to the Leviathan Government that has been enabled by spoiled apathetic propagandized Americans who are finally waking up. Hopefully it is not too late.

      • R

I realize what you are saying Dave H. and I agree. All I’m saying now is the materialism whether we worked hard for it or not is neither here nor there. I believe that we have overall lost because of our non vigilance and watching the liberals come up slowly and snatch our freedoms. We could as a nation come together and stop spending and I believe most everyone could be happy with what they have if it meant bringing our country back however I don’t believe that’s the goal of the “hope & change” people. Many just don’t see it. I say if they want to stay in line and let Oprah give them something go ahead (its a waste of time). The rest of us need to be focused on how to save ourselves from the upcoming catastrophe.

  • Louie

Just think, when jesus returns, oprah will give him a “Bettle” and that way, he won’t have to ride his Ass anymore! Spot on oprah!!!

    • oldtimeyman

Louie says: “Just think, when jesus returns, oprah will give him a “Bettle” and that way, he won’t have to ride his Ass anymore! Spot on oprah!!!”

Don’t you mean Jesus won’t have to ride his Obama anymore? An ass, after all is a noble, working-class creature!

  • Stephen

I get tired of the complaining. How about some true solutions. It doesn’t seem to matter whether it comes from the left of the right. No one seems to be putting forth solutions that will dis-empower the consolidation of power to just to the elite. Except for Dr. Paul, when he says we need to repeal the legal tender laws.

    • Louie

      Stephen, you are correct!!!

    • DaveH

You are wrong, Stephan, there are plenty of solutions posted on this website. If you like what Ron Paul thinks like, then you would probably like the Libertarian principles. Are you familiar with them? If not, you should quit accusing others of making no real efforts to get our country back on track, and get familiar with them.

      • 45caliber

I susect that Stephen is talking about our politicians not submitting ideas to reduce government. And most won’t. They don’t like small government because it limits their own power and prestige.

    • Angel Wannabe

Stephan, We need a Congress and President who KNOWS and stands up for the Constitution! THE CONSTITUTION IS FOR WE THE PEOPLE,PERIOD!_ I don’t care if your Gay, Straight, Ape, Man, Woman, Muslim, Christian, Hindu, American Indian or a Mud Skipper__The Constitution is for ALL PEOPLE, ONE NATION UNDER GOD!

We need a Congress who’ll stick to the REAL ISSUES, which are TOO MUCH TAX AND REGULATION!

Incentives for Industry, Manufacturing & ENTREPENURES to come back to our shores_ and Pratically instantly That WILL = JOB CREATION!_
CAPITALISM WORKS IF GOVERMENT STAYs THE H*LL OUT of IT!

You have three choices__a Coo___if not, First we need a voting syytem to stop voter fraud (thats funny) and then once thats accomplished, vote everyone out of Congress and Senate & the Presidency and start a new, Holdem all accountable while there in office!
Good Luck with that, this is what we need__ but it’s a dream world!!

  • Al Sieber

Well if people are gonna wake up they better do it quick, we’re out of time it’s 2-minutes to midnight.

  • Eric Siverson

Oprahs empire could now be curtailed . Lets say we take all of Oprahs wealth and devide it up equaly amoung all the people that have been and still are her fans world wide . I doubt if there would be any volkswagons . If she did this ,I might even become one of her fans again . The crowd reminded me of the winners at the casino , Really nothing to jump up and down about when you consider the whole crowds total cost . It truley is sad that many people think thier best chance to become winners is at the game shows and casinoes . Its even sadder to have to agree they are most likely right .

    • Valerie Lacasse

Another jealous soul get you own cash

      • Doomer

        Val,

Are you an ardent Oprah fan?

If so, have you appeared on her show?

      • Valerie Lacasse

No I have never appeared I work, but frankly what had me ticked off
was the dislike and and jealosy she seems to stir up here I am getting annoyed, so I am thinking Yikes I am as crazy as the folk making these offensive comment at least she gives money away even if its because its good business sense, I think that she may genuinly care about some things some make it and keep it at least she share.
I admire here for having made something of her life and no matter what that cannot be taken away from her. I certainly do not agree
with everything she does. I seldom watch her show unless the topic is of interest.By the way I see and hear bigotry often my friends know what I stand for my spouse calls me the eternal optimist so I still think one day this world will be free from it Be Blest at least you have been civil

      • Doomer

        Val,

Yes, just do not take things online postings seriously like the 99% racist comment from me (in jest).

I used to take things seriously, too, in rebutting the others while being angry.

FYI, I am a deaf individual who have seen his share of discrimination in my country and I forgive those while fighting for what is right in God’s eyes. Sometimes I fail at that but I press on.

      • Vicki

Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
(And love is reflected in love)

      • DaveH

Jealous? You are certainly quick to label people, Valerie. Eric was simply saying that if Oprah was genuinely charitable she would give away most of her $1.4 Billion. Instead she supports a president who takes from those who have made the effort and distributes to those who haven’t. That includes many black people who have done the right things and achieved wealth only to see the Liberals take more of their money away directly or though inflation.

      • JC

        Note Valeries response above…

No I have never appeared “I work”,

LOL Says a lot about the people who have appeared huh? :)

  • http://AOL Ron

Has anyone ever watched “The Price is Right”…sameo, sameo. Fools wanting to get there 15 seconds of fame.

    • Doomer

      Yep,

Poor Bob Barker and now Drew Carey when both of em have been under far more ferocious pass rush pressure than any NFL QB.
      :)

    • Karolyn

So WTF is wrong with that?

      • JC

LOL…Would you go on a show like that?
I sure wouldn’t. I am nobody’s monkey jumping and clapping for goodies. haha:)

  • Joyce from Loris

I agree that we are a very materialistic nation. Every day there are commercials on TV about plastic surgery, tanning salons, nail salons, etc. When you drive around our town, there are plenty of yard sales, and majority of what they are trying to sale is CLOTHES! I have never seen so many clothes. I have to admit, I am guilty of having more clothes than I should, but my biggest problem is I never throw my old clothes away. I have jackets that are 30 years old. I’m from the old school who thinks “I might need that someday”. We do need to simplify our lives. I am sadden by the distress of the unemployed (almost everyone I know) when they can’t pay their bills, and their bills consist of LAWN MOWER PAYMENTS! Riding lawn mowers. Credit card bills from buying Christmas presents. They can’t pay for their 52″ TV, they can’t make the payments on their four cars in the drive way. Yes, we are a materialistic nation, but I believe that we all can tough this out. We are all still hardy people, and those who do not know how to do without, will be fine in learning. We are Americans, after all!

    • DaveH

There is nothing wrong with Materialism as long as we achieve those goods with fair, moral practices.

      • Joyce from Loris

Dave, never said there was anything wrong with materialism. I am all for it, and have supported it all my life, but when people drown themselves in DEBT to have that materialism, that’s a problem. When people refer themselves as “down and out” because they can’t go out to eat at a restaurant, that’s a problem. The things that we all considered to be luxuries in the past, are now considered to be necessities. Just because you don’t have a riding lawnmower that cost $2500, doesn’t mean you can’t still mow your grass with a mower that cost $175. That’s the difference.

      • Karolyn

Materialism in the extreme (like in this country) negates what’s really important. Instead of showing love, people BUY love. People fill the emptiness in their gut with “stuff” and more stuff. Then there’s the waste. When I lived in Jersey, we used to go to the town cleanups, where people would put their “junk” out on the street; wnd we’d go through it. I can remember getting a loom, a guitar, coffee makers, toasters, etc. As a throwaway society, we’re filling the earth with our “material.” I can always find what I need in a thrift shop, garage sale or flea market if I’m willing to wait.

      • Wlmitch1

Funny that you mention shopping at thrift stores. A few years ago I bought a 3-piece, high-quality, wool dress suit in like-new condition for $20 at a thrift store. I still wear it for special occasions, and it is STILL in like-new condition. It would cost around $1000 new at a high-priced apparel store! I only buy clothes as needed. I bought the high-end HP printer I currently use at a thrift store for $5.

      • DaveH

Then perhaps you could explain to me, Karolyn, why you advocate for a Political Party that wants to share the wealth of others? Am I wrong? If you don’t even like materialism, why would you support the Democrats who want to steal the money of others?

      • Karolyn

Dave – I don’t think they see it as “stealing.” Actually, at this point, I don’t know who I support. I think I have become more or an independent through this site. I am a very loyal and traditional person, and I think that is probably the reason I’ve remained a democrat. It’s just like how I haven’t been a practicing Catholic for many years; however, I still believe myself to be a Catholic.

  • Louie

What is an Oprah Windfree…Feliz Navidad!

    • JLC

Louie — ¡Y un prospero Año Nuevo a usted también!

  • Doomer

    Bob,

An excellent article. I am guilty of being so overly excited about sporting events in the past which I was a paying customer although beer consumption certainly enhances it.

I would rather be excited over getting a VW beetle than a sporting event alone but you are right that we shouldn’t be excited over material things unless these are essential to our lives such as: shelter, water, food and basic necessities which we can give thanks to God for these.

Every day, I look forward to thanking God for sending Jesus down here as our Redeemer and am learning to rely more on Him regardless of what I am feeling these days.

Krauthammer is correct with his concise quote.

    • Teresa

AMEN! We all fall short of our praises to God and his glory at times and need only to look around for his graciousness to us all. Merry Christmas!

    • 45caliber

I think one reason people get excited is because they are EXPECTED to get excited. My wife won’t take me to a ball game because I won’t jump up and down beside her when someone scores. (And I cheer both sides when one does a good job.) I sit and watch. It embarrasses her when everyone else is jumping up and down and I’m sitting there laughing at them.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Thank you. All this material crap, all that is seen, is fading and vanishing, and it will all go away. All that is unseen, is eternal and last forever. That is truly what our hearts should be set on, because when we leave this earth, all our cars and houses and TV’s and material possession, all stay here for someone else to enjoy, so why should we put so much energy and money into acquiring them? Its silly.

  • ojd

Our government has established the give away programs , not T.V.
40 plus % of us are standing here waiting for a hand out, waiting for anything free from Uncle Sam.. The far left will continue to buy votes through freebees as long as we elect people like Reid , Mr. Frank , the lady that lies to the public, you know the one with the forced smile ,that says its okay to say anything when you are running for election , the one that is losing her jet plane, that only lies when her mouth is open oh yes and then there is Mr. Obama…Have you counted the lies he has stated as truth , oops I mean his mis-statements. I could go on & on..
All I can say is .”WAKE UP AMERICA”
We don’t have stupid stamped on our forehead or do we ?

    • Bill

Yes, like the truth that Obalama said when he was running for president. I have campaigned in all 57 states. Did he mean the arab states, where there are 57.

      • Valerie Lacasse

        Another Bigot

      • 63rdpatriot

There you go again. Someone tells the truth and you call them a bigot. Your stupidity amazes me. I hope you have not had kids. We sure don’t need anymore welfare recipients.

      • Valerie Lacasse

NEVER HAD WELFARE!! What is that You seem to be familiar
I happen to be a useful member of society I just had to reply to some of these comments we all have free speech.Be the solution
I cannot you being a Parent Please thats the problem anone can have a
child but who are realy Parents! Well enough said This was Fun!

      • Doomer

        Bill,

There are 57 Islamic states and not all of em are of Arab descent.

        Val,

Throwing terms like “bigot” around is pretty dumb unless you ask people like Bill if they have anything against a certain ethnic group.

      • Valerie Lacasse

Dumb is ignorant, call a spade a spade Bigotry exist, ethinicy has nothing to do with that Denial is another story USA is filled with it like any where else

      • DaveH

Sorry, Valerie, but you are assuming that Bill’s comment had anything to do with Obama’s color. He was simply exposing Obama’s ignorance. Unless, Valerie, you are assuming that ignorance is race-related, in which case you are the Bigot.

      • Kate8

Valerie – Bigot? Against whom? Stupid people?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

How did he make it to all 57 like that? Maybe he ate at a steak house and saw that number on a steak sauce bottle? How can you be the President, and not know there are 50 states? How can this possible be?

  • David

You just can’t stand it when the unwashed have-nots get something, can you?

    • Valerie Lacasse

Thanks David you were eloguent I saw your comment are writing a whole paragraph in response to obvious resentmen and jealousy
      well done.

      • DaveH

Valerie, pay attention. David’s comment revealed his real character. By the use of the phrase “unwashed have-nots”, he has revealed that he really doesn’t have a high opinion of those people, as is the case with many of the Liberal elitists who could care less about the poor, as long as those poor vote for the Liberal candidates.
You seem to be on the right track, Valerie, from your previous comments that people need to NOT be dependent on Government, but you are confused as to who really is furthering their dependency.
If you really want the poor to have a chance at the good life, which requires education, hard work, and sacrifice, then look into the Libertarian party. We know that the best answer to the oppression by the Elites is to get Government out of our personal lives and the marketplace. Big Government uses their power to stifle competition for their Crony-Capitalists which causes loss of production, loss of Freedom, and loss of opportunities for those folks who would gladly put in the hard work to realize their Dreams if the Government regulations weren’t stifling their efforts.
For Personal Freedom, Personal Responsibility, Free Markets, and Limited Government, Vote Libertarian!
        http://libertarianparty.org/platform

      • David

Wrong. The unwashed masses is how people like Robert group all of us undeserving people who are not wealthy beyond most people’s imagination. If Oprah wants to give cars away to ordinary folks, what is wrong with that?

      • Kate8

David – Same thing that’s always wrong with it. You are so bedazzled by the glitz and the prospect of something for nothing, that you fail to see through to the agenda. There is a man behind the curtain.

There is no such thing as something for nothing. This is proven over and over throughout history, but humanity NEVER learns. And as long as we are given to class envy, we never will.

      • Kate8

A really good example of this is the mortgage debacle. Our “caring” government made it possible for people to get mortgages who could in no way afford to buy homes, knowing full well they would default at some point. Especially when the inflated market crashed. Oh, but the poor should be able to own their own homes!

Of course, the feds also knew that the bottom would fall out, and these people they care so much about would be in the streets. Then they “had” to take over the mortgage lenders, resulting in a massive land-grab by the government. BINGO.

What does it take to get you libs to open your eyes?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

If she wants to do it right, she shouldnt glorify herself in front of millions of people. That is her reward and thats it. Matthew 6:1-5. If she wants to do it heartfelt, buy the car, have it taken to someones house, pay the taxes and all of it, and say it is from Santa Claus or Jesus or someone, just so long as she doesnt get the credit from them for it. Then God will bestow His blessing on her. As it is, she received her blessing on earth, and its over.

      • Kate8

Beberoni – That is an excellent point.

Liberals always do their giving as a photo-op. Make a big spectacle of how generous they are.

If you are going to give, do it quietly. Otherwise, it’s just self-aggrandizement, and is worth nothing in spirit.

      • Al Sieber

Berberoni, good quote from Matthew, if only people followed it.

  • Dave

What “Momma Oprah” (aka. Harpo Works) giveth, she (big money) can take away – the nanny state only works with your money in the form of tax write-offs, innovative book keeping, ‘charity’ giving, etc. This is merely giving us fish while taking away the means to our learning, having the leeway to legally fish and make a profit – aka Capitalism. As Rush says, let’s “QUIT APOLOGIZING FOR CAPITALISM; IT’S WHAT MADE US WHAT WE ARE” Compliments of the Bible (Right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness – aka the right of ownership).

    • Valerie Lacasse

It does not or should not matter smart book keeping or whatever She is rich and most rich people do give their money to charitable causes
Some riuch fol genuinily care the reason I think why some folks struggle because they seem to have hatred for those are making money.
Some more than other resent particularly the Black ones.
I guess it would be better if they were on welfare or on minimum wage it seems a person cannot win well hell there are those who resent Bill gates. I LOVE WWHEN THE HAVE NOTS AND PAST WELFARE RECEPIENTS MAKE IT BECAUSE IT UPSETS SO MANY

      • 63rdpatriot

The more you post, the more ignorant you appear to be. You should stop now before you remove all doubt.

      • Valerie Lacasse

Your response proves who is ,may you rest in peace!!

      • Karolyn

        Your post proves YOUR ignorance!

      • DaveH

I think you missed Robert Ringer’s point, Valerie. His point was not that Oprah wasn’t generous, rather that her gifts did nothing to encourage those people to make the real life-sustaining efforts. As the saying goes “Give a man a fish, and feed him for a day. Teach that man to fish and you feed him for life”.

      • airangel

Now DaveH..you hit that on the head. We are crippling people by not empowering them to be self sufficient…instead of extending unemployment another 13 months, use the money to create jobs so they can get employed and earn a living longer than 13 months and get out of being idle and in the stupor our Government has created….another quote I like besides your Fish quote is “Responsibility leads to responsible behavior”…with so many on food stamps and unemployed, they have idle time to whine and become hateful and resentful

      • DaveH

        I agree, airangel.

      • Kate8

airangel and Dave H – If we were assuming that the goal was empowering people, we could think the Progressives were simply misguided.

Since we know the goal of big government is always DISempowerment of the masses, I’d say their game is working quite well.

      • eddie47d

It’s nice to agree with you Dave H. I also believe Oprah is a great lady (her heart is in the right place) and Robert Ringers analysis was accurate on her situation. We are a nation that wants everything but doesn’t want to earn it. I wish Oprah would stop those insane giveaways. She is defeating the purpose of compassion and helping others. She needs to come back to earth and give up the giveaways.

      • Karolyn

Well, I think they’re all done now anyway with the end of her show. Though what’s wrong with somebody wealthy giving stuff away? I don’t get the animosity some have with that. Jealousy? What? Who cares? I sure would love somebody would give me a brand new car!

      • Vicki

Karolyn. Which would serve you better? Giving you a brand new car or giving you a job (with training if necessary) where you would earn enough to buy your own new car?

I would prefer the latter. Rich people who do this however are vilified by the liberals for their daring to invest their money to make money “off the backs” of others. Bill Gates and the others “giving their wealth” away are the people giving a man a fish. Bill was FAR more effective at feeding untold MILLIONS of people (including me :) ) by creating a little small business many years ago. His wealth under HIS control created more jobs which created more wealth in more industries than all of government since the beginning of this country.

He spread the wealth the most effective way. Not only did he teach a man to fish but he even built the fishing pole (and made a decent profit thus creating more wealth).

Bill was of course not alone. Steve did his part, Meg did her part as did many others.

      • Karolyn

Well, Vicki, of course if I didn’t have a job I wouldn’t be able to put gas in the car; so yes, I would take a job over a car. However, who ever said that her audience was all unemnployed? I love gifts, although I think I love giving more now that I’m older. However, what person doesn’t like a gift?

      • marvin

        DaveH
that is from the bible paul said that as per god

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Amen DaveH. If people could apply that to their lives, they would be so much better off. Learn how to fish and feed yourself, instead of waiting for someone to bring you a fish to eat. So many are so content on others to take care of them, instead of learning to take care of themselves. God couldnt have said it any clearer, could have He? Very good point.

There is much concern with Oprahs tales about growing up. Others, that say they grew up with her, says she tell’s a tale different from what it really was. Regardless, when she goes on TV in front of the world, and makes a spectacle of herself giving the cars away, right there in front of millions, she has just received her just rewards. And if you disagree, you need to read Matthew Chapter 6, verse 1 to 6. Got a problem with it, take it up with God. Evidently He takes issue with self glorification like this. I cannot blame Him.

  • smithington

We MUST awake from this deadly slumber of complacency, materialism and shallow thoughts…before it’s too late, and we are led like sheep to the slaughter. We all must, in a loving, calm way, tell everyone we know of our country’s condition and renew our vows to the God of the Bible who gave us all these blessings so long ago.

  • Mike

People need to get their own life and quit putting people like Oprah on a pedestal. People are like sheep, the Government has these people brainwashed on the fact that the Government can help the people better than they can help themselves. The Government can’t do nothing for me except keep me broke like they are doing. They want people to rely on them for everything. The way they are teaching kids in todays age, they are teaching them to rely on the Government. The Government will control the people of America when all of the people around my age are gone. The kids growing up today are being groomed to rely on the Government. This will be a communist country one day, hopefully I will already be dead. I won’t be controlled by anybody as long as I don’t break the law.

    • Bill

It is more than time for the people to wake up and smell the crap that the government is dishing out. Our fore fathers would make these greedy politicians disappear if they could. Wake up AMERICA before it too late to still be free. Obalama has to go.

    • Valerie Lacasse

Parents and society should be educating their children and the youths not to depend on the Government.
Brainwashing are from various sources Advertising, Politicians and the Pulpit (PLEASE do not get upset about this there are genuine God fearng folks I am one)but some folks use that pulpit as a means to control others. Most people are hypnotized and they are unaware. We should wake up!!The truth will set us free stop the Blame game

      • mickey

And the truth in Wikileaks will set us free? Howvever, our govenment didn’t see it that way.

In general, if we look at the entire mess we are in, we could call it social change. During WWII, women were given recipes to make “quick dinners”. However, when women refused to leave the workforce (in competition with men), recipes became long and time consuming. The men got education and the GI bill.

Next threat came from blacks (taking over jobs). Welfare worked for awhile (still works in the ghetto) and blaming “whitey” for everything.

Next threat, illegals, again taking over jobs. They are also being held back by none other than “whitey”.

As I look back over these generations, I see it as a ploy to keep one sector unemployed while giving another sector advantages. One of the themes is over population, devaluating the wages. First whites stopped having so many children, then blacks, and now we have a third wave coming in.

Each one of these is govenment sponsored in some way. The leftist keep saying “oppressed, depressed, suppressed” while the other side is saying “get off your duff” they will keep you emprisoned for life by giving you bread, not a job.

So here we are with govenment playing all of us on the boardgame, again. As long as govenment keeps giving handouts to those they don’t want to succeed, we will continue to have the same game played over and over.

The problem now is more real than 60 years ago. The government is now in our homes, our everyday (food supply) lives. Conspiracies aren’t conspiracies if they are true.

Illegals go home. You are just an unneeccary pond. We need you to go home and fight with what you know to save your own country. OUr government does not need to be in your right to grow your own food, your water rights, establish jobs within your needs. As long as you, the smoke, stays in the limelight, we cannot take actions that need taken on our side if you are constantly being the smoke.

The lame TSA attempt to take over the airline industry is just more of the government’s attempt to keep us all in line with an agenda used over the last 60 years “we will protect you” (without protecting you at all).

  • Doc Franklin

I wish you were right in your supposition that the American electorate will awaken from their idol induced stupor and realize they are on the precipice of losing their liberty and freedom of choice in all things. Unfortunately the major aggregate are so mesmerized by the “bread and circus” routine that I think this is an extremely remote possibility. As the elitist’s increase their oppressive tyranny, more and more will complain, but nothing will change and this will lead to some incredibly serious options. Do you live with the tyranny and attempt to stay under the regimes radar, or due you call to arms in an attempt to throw of the shackles of societal imprisonment as discussed in the very first paragraph of The Declaration of Independence? Tyranny versus anarchy, neither option leads to anything a civilized society would desire. God help us.

  • OneDamnAngryAmerican

What do you expect from a woman with a Phd, who never graduated from high school? Why not an American product, instead of one from Germany (oh, I forgot, the guy who helped her get on TV is Jewish!)? Or, why not BMW’s? You can bet your butt that the only reason why she did this, was so she could write it off of her taxes, either knowingly or unknowingly, that her best bud, barry, had planned on taxing the k-rap out of rich folks like her, as she did everything possible to get the guy elected. Maybe this is why she closed down her TV show; to avoid commercials that would lure people into buying her products, making her and others like her, pay for the welfare payments of people of other colors. (That was NOT a racist comment.) She was on welfare once, (as was Whoopi, so she could go to acting classes, NOT BECAUSE SHE DID NOT HAVE ANY WORK); do you think she might or they might every find it in their hearts to repay the American taxpayer, now that they are millionaires and billionaires? Keep dreaming! If you saw the orca win-fries “where am I from” PBS DNA special, she had always assumed that slaves came from south Africa, which is the reason why she spent millions on her school there; when in reality, if she ever went to school and learned about history, even history of where she came from, she would have known that slaves came from Libera (north-west Africa and not south Africa), who were POW’s or other undesireables, shipped off to the British colonies. It is a real shame that we have people in this country with so much power. I can see giving someone an honorary Phd. But, someone who never graduated from HS? Sorry, folks, go check out her wiki-bio. It changes like the weather does in New England, in December. SHAME ON ALL AMERICANS. Fooled and tricked by those who want our money. We will all be homeless and living in anarchy in a few years, anyway, so, who really cares? The average American wants everything for free, and they want what you have, no matter how you got it. I am a brain damaged, 100% disabled combat veteran. Members of my own family have been bullying me for years, to give them my disabled placards. Nice, huh? No wonder harry reid and his buddies want to sell US citizenship to illegals for $500.00. That is how cheap being an American is, these days! Think about that as you walk through Arlington National Cemetary or visit any of the war monuments there, and elsewhere. slick willie and barry were right on, when the said seperately, that the average american is nothing but an “idiot” and a “moron.” The only thing, I believe, each has ever said, that was right-on! Thank you, Amerika, for voting for these idiots! By the way, if Johnson raided the SS lock-box to pay for the VN war, then how the heck can slick willie say he balanced the budeget, when the funds to SS (and to the Road-Tax lock-box) have never been repaid? harry reid told the City of Las Vegas, that if they wanted road-tax money to complete a freeway project, that they should put up toll-booths. Nice, huh?

The fact that the folks singled out on having used welfare they are also to be commende for utilizing it to get off.

He has cast no jealousy in his post only his statement to the post and you try to portray him as a jealous rascist…shame on you, and men like him fought for your right to even have the right TO speak freely!

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I dont get too excited when Oprah and her rich friends do things like this, in the public eye, because they are like the pharisee’s, that say “Look at me, look at the good I do”, then they do those evil things in private places when they think nobody sees, but God see’s. In fact, He has written about this (Matthew 6: versus 1-5). When you do this public giving in front of men, where people woo and wow over you, as it is written, you have received your just reward. Give in private, where no one knows, out of the goodness of your heart, in secret where no one knows but you and God. That is where the reward is. Matthew says it pretty clearly in Chapter 6.

  • http://PersoalLibertDigest John

I agree with almost all of this article. The part I did not like, was when to me it seemed you were lumping all of us collecting unemployment. I have worked 50 years and at 70 I would still be working, but #1 employers don’t wait to hire someone my age (they don’t give a hoot how much work & life experience you have) # 2 I am stuck in MI where the last one is about to leave. I would too, but thanks to both the State & Federal governments my pair of shoes are worth morwe than my house. GO TEA PARTY! Let’s get out the TRUE WORD about what we stand for and believe. TIME TO GET THE JOB DONE.” GOD BLESS WHAT’S LEFT OF AMERICA!!!!

    • DaveH

We can thank Government, John, for the Age Discrimination. One potential employer was honest enough to tell me that they didn’t want to hire somebody who would probably be retiring in a few years. And then there’s the fear of lawsuits or other such liabilities that employers incur these days when they hire certain “protected” classes of people (Oldsters, Females, Minorities). And for those who think the employers can’t avoid those people because the Government “protects” them – Think again. Any resourceful employer can figure ways around those laws. Why would any sane employer want to shoulder that extra risk, when there are many available unprotected workers?

      • DaveH

As usual, in that category, as in so many walks of life, the Government has created the illusion of “protection” when in fact they are harming the intended targets.

      • mickey

        Yeah, like the false TSA.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I remember it like yesterday, when I graduated from High School, and I took a few months out, then hit the job hunting trail, back in 1976. Thanks to our lovely government, the first phase of political correctness had started back then. It was called Affirmative Action. After visiting 15 business’s the first day, and another 34 over the next week, and being told by every stinking one of them, that they couldnt hire me, BECAUSE I AM WHITE, I came to the conclusing that prejudice sucks. I often hear people cry prejudice, people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, and Im thinking, I know the government never made a law where someone could tell them they couldnt hire them because of their skin color. So when government regulations get in the way, and dictate to business who they have to hire, or in another extreme, allow them to prejudice people because of their age, this isnt right. I feel for the gentleman in Michigan, as I know people up there and the job prospectus is just horrible up there. And the democrats that have ran the state so long have left it in shambles. Their roads and infrastructures and business’s have been going downhill for years. I myself, If I owned a business, Id rather hire the older guy, that I know would be more responsible, that I know would embrace his job more and do a better job for me. But because of this little bastard thing they call insurance, it tips the scales. Maybe the government should take all this money they keep giving away, and put it into a 50 and over insurance fund for older workers that get hired it, to draw from just in case they have insurance needs. I think that would make them seen much more favorable by the business world. It shouldnt have to be that way, but if were going to spend up government money, lets at least do it in a useful way.

    • Ruby

I’m in the same situation you are, and I’m only 56. After several interviews in the past 17 months, I’m either overqualified or lack the very specific experience being sought. So, I’ll continue to get the only government handout I qualify for (no welfare for me…make too much…what a joke) until I find reasonable gainful employment.

Reasonable? Yes. Employment that pays enough to keep a roof over my head, and food on the table, pay the utility bills, etc. And be able to afford an article of new clothing/shoes at the very least once a year. Oh…maybe go out to dinner once in a while – what a treat!

      • mickey

This sounds like what I went through in the 70′s and 80′s. I couldn’t get a job at McD’s because I would quit when my job called me back. And in the meantime my kids were to go hungry? And didn’t the teen group just quit any time?

I was either overqualified or underqualified. GM was laying off people and lots of engineers (another time) so why should they hire me when they had seasoned engineers to pick from and would work for less than what they previously made (not propped up by unemployment then).

I figure it wise to watch fiscal policy. If they wanted jobs, the emphais would be there, especially after two years. Instead, they promoted unemployment, who knew?

    • Buddy

      John:

I am 84 years of age and still working. How did that happen?, you might ask. Simple – - I am working for the best boss that I could ever get – - myself.

Yes, that’s easier said than done. However, with a bit of imagination, it can be done. Just make contacts and sooner or later something good is bound to happen. Don’t know what your skills are, but with contacts, sooner or later. . .

      • mickey

I would work too if I could find something locally (retired) but I kinda think my neighbor needs any job more than me, right now. However, retirees are good prospects because, until lately, their were no insurance overheads, excessive tax liabilities, and the net of lower wages. OTH it puts the young at a disadvantage.

Think of unemployment this way, the less you make over a lifetime, the less your SSA will be. Think SSA was a Ponzi scheme? Wait until the stock market takes all your IRAs.

      • http://none Mike

Mickey, I agree with Bud and I am 1/2 his age. :) I am in process right now of re-fireing Ideas I had when running my own company a while back. This time around I have the support base I didnt when I tried it the first time. Mainly the people in my church that are un-employed as well. We are banding together and doing something about our situations here in Tn. where real unemployment numbers are near 26%. It may take us a while but I feel the market for our success is there for the takeing if we survive the taxes and regulation we are going to encounter for what we do. Mike L.

    • oldtimeyman

John, I totally identify with you. MI was my birth state and I was forced to leave during the early ’70s during what I call the Nixon mini-depression. I now live in Louisiana. I’m 68 and retired on SS plus a small pension from the Veterans Administration.

My poor wife is handicapped and confined to a wheelchair. I can’t work since I can’t leave her alone for any extended period of time. So, we’re unwilling captives of the NWO posing as our own fedgov.

If the Tea Partiers can’t swing our country around, I fear – and I mean fear – a revolution is brewing. I fear it because I won’t leave my wife behind. We will just have to face whatever comes by ourselves. When and if the blue-helmeted thugs from the UN come to my street, they will be met with my puny resistance and I only hope I nail one or two of them before they get us. But I assure you I won’t go peacefully.

I know it Teresa. It is the very strength that makes it worthwhile to get up each day. I lived in the darkness for 40 of my 52 years. I cannot possible imagine living in this world today without the power of Jesus Christ in my life. I cannot imagine it, nor would I want to do it.

You like many others I know are in this boat. We the people need to help folks like you and your wife. More than the mindless baby factories and lifetime welfare rats that are out there now. My mother is Ill with alzheimers this is my second bout with this diseas my father had it too. It puts a huge burden on a family to deal with this diseas. My mother like your wife cannot be left alone for any length of time so I fully understand your situation.

Pray and humble yourself and you might be supprised at the help you will find. Seek out a local small church not a mega temple and you will find the help you deserve and need.

Praying for you and you family this holiday season. Mike L.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Im not sure what your description of a mega temple is, but it may not be right. Before I moved, I attended a pretty large church 2500 people. But I was there, when it was 24 guys planting a new church, meeting at a YMCA where they let us use a room. Then it grew to 100, then 200, and we built debt free a small chapel. It was alive for Jesus Christ, as all churches should be. Then it grew, and grew, as more and more came to know the Lord. The Holy Spirit ran rampant, and brought many to Himself. We had to build, and decided to do a big metal pole barn looking building from the outside, and put 3 basketball courts in it, so we could start a basketball program they call Upwards Basketball. For church on Sunday, we sit chairs in in, with the stage on one side, and now there are 3 services with 700 to 800 in each service. That church gives thousands of dollars to missions, and charites, and providing for digging wells for those with no water around the world. They mobilized us, where 3 years in a row, all the churches in the city sent groups almost every week to Gulfport Lousiana to help folks rebuild from Katrina. This mega church ponied up most the money for the trialers for volunteers to sleep, eat and study in, then donated them to a place that does this kind of rescue when it was all over. And through this Upwards Basketball, many inner city kids came in to play, and they raved about the place, and they brought their friends, and then their parents came to see what all the fuss was about. Then they brought their friends. They are now having to do another expansion, for the need, not for the greed. This church is hot for Christ, and that is what we are called to do. So dont generalize all mega churchs as bad. I know there are some, who are only out to get cash, so I know what your saying, but I also know first hand, some of them arent. My new church where Im at now in another city, is alive and growing, and soon we will have to rebuild, as we are in a leased building. And, I would also like to add, that all this building and expansion, is done debt free. God doesnt want us to get in debt. You raise the money, then you build. You show me a church that goes in debt to build and expand, and Ill show you a church that is going to crumble, because they are going against God’s word.

      • http://none Mike

Beberoni, I see where you are comming from . But here was my take on the mega temple without nameing names. I came from a small southern babtist background. In 1974 my family joind what was then a mid sized Babtist church that was growing as well.

In 74 through 82 we had a preacher that was a true man of god who preached from the bible and his notes on the bible. This made the electorate of the church nervous because it exposed their hypcrocy. So in 82 he was let go from the church as a pastor.

In his place we got our first pastor who used his pre preparde notebook rather than a bible to teach his doctorin.Lo and behold the church started to attract the attention of the local electorate at the time and started to grow. This was where it first came into conflict with the community. They needed land for a new parking lot and a fellowship hall for wensday night meals and services. The land owner didnt want to sell his home he had been in for 30+ years so the church used its political power to apply pressure to said land owner.

Around 1996 this pastor had retired and the church had grown to around 20,000 members. This was when they brought in their 1 st Televanglist pastor. This is when the growth really took off and the problems began for me.This man was not happy with sprouting new churches if he could help it and this church began an all out growth campagin in the community.

1998-present. This mega temple has grown now to close to 70,000 members. And has also opend an on-sight christian school with a tuition of close to $20,000 a year for students. It has several donation programs for the building fund, lottie Moon missions,Politicle fundraisers,Pastorial houseing fund you name it its a new donation fund every week. I went to work for this church in 2001 in the janitorial service. I started to notice more and more how I and my family as well as some of the other less affluent families in this church were looked down upon for not being dressed as well as the rich people in this church. It all cumulated in 2002 when I tried to attend a wensday evening service(after working all day setting up the service and cleaning classrooms) when a decon at the time asked me if I couldent dress better for services. when I replied that it was hard for me to go home and change between my shift and time for service. I got the down the nose look and the reply well you could go up on the balcony I guess. That ended my participation in this church.

I now attend a small community church where the pastor teaches from the bible. He ask us to help our community as we can and even went as far as to ask the church to let him take a pay cut of 150 a week during this time where his flock has hit hard times. We are growing now too but in the right ways through community service and leading by examples. I dont see this ever happening in my former Mega Temple. Mike L.

There is nothing wrong in giving some help to those that are helpless by accident. Oprah would have impressed me more if she had funded, I think it is Angels, that loan people money to keep their mortgages. Some people need new cars to get to work, you know, the working poor. But I think giving should entail some kind of payback. If I loan someone $500, I expect it paid back. If I have the capacity to give away $5 million, I still expect payback–get a job, pay a bill, buy a lunch for someone. Only this type of playing it forward will keep our self esteem.

The problem with the government giving out unemployment like welfare will only result in more of the same. Once the unemployment runs out, they will switch to the welfare rolls. It is difficult to return to work when benefits pay way more than the cost of transportation to work, the other work expenses, and the lower wages.

I think my generation of getting a second job or a third job to survive are losing ground.

When we were kids, visiting relatives got our beds (adults0 and the kids slept on the floor. Now my visiting relatives go to a motel. They trade non debt to debt. Sad, but that is how we think now.

      • Amren

The thing that Oprah fails to tell all these people that receive her “gifts” is that they have to pay TAXES on them!!!! Is she going to pay the taxes? Is she going to pay for their insurance? I doubt it! What kind of a gift requires you to continue to spend money on it?? A good friend of mine received a new Camaro from his boss as a 20th anniversary present. I was floored to hear that even Social Security wants their share of the value of the car!
Hopefully these folks woke up before the show was over and told Opry to keep her dang P.O.S. foreign car and just give them the cash!

You said it perfectly. Whether or not the lemmings know it, the tax man will be waiting with his hand out and his “color of law” mentality at the ready to take the gubbermint’s share. Maybe some of these lemmings get the wake up call when they realize that their ignorance played them like a nail under a hammer…maybe.

      • eddie47d

I agree with you on your other comment Mickey.

      • Karolyn

You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone with a second and third job these days because they’re just not there.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Im not so sure about that Karolyn. When my daughter, who is now 22, got out of high school at 18, I was kind of worried about her prospects for a job, because she had no idea of what she wanted to do, and up to that point, had shown absolutely no responsibility what so ever. Boy did she ever surprise her daddy and make me proud. Instead of seeking a government handout, she worked three jobs for two years, two as a waitress for like 5 hours at each job, 3 or 4 days a week, then at a credit union on the week-ends. Well, she applied herself, and from these part time jobs, with tips, the kid was bringing home over 500.00 a week right from the start. Now she has gotten the credit union job going full time, and quit the other two, and has advanced to being a loan officer. So the jobs are there if people are willing to work. Unfortunately, as hard as she works, she has a boyfriend who is content to stick his hand out and let the government put unemployment in it, for over a year now, as he refuses to look for a job, for as he puts it “why look for a job when their giving me almost 400 bucks a week to not work”. And then some are in uproar because some wanted to stop the unemployment extensions? Wow!. So I know if my 18 year daughter, who never had a job, can go out and nail 3 jobs at a time, that others can do it also, that is, if they want to. Or they can be like her boyfriend, and cry that there aint no jobs and take the handouts. She has a hard time wondering why I have no respect for him, but Im cordial to him, and Im sure one day she will figure it out.

      • Karolyn

Really, it all depends on where you live. I’ve mentioned before that where I live there is nothing. I went without a job for four years; however, I never stopped working for myself. I applied to WalMart 3 times and gave up. I came to the conclusion that they don’t want intelligent people working for them. Even before the recession our local weekly paper would only have three or four jobs listed, and I would never drive 50 miles to Charlotte for a job paying for just my gas. Been there; done that. You’re lucky to have such an ambitious responsible daughter. Unfortunately, they seem to be few and far between these days.

The Barney Frank Fondling that TSA is giving at airports is another overreach of govt that continues to be bigger and more expensive. It is sad that the 911 Muslim murder supporters will find other ways to engage us with their sick martyrdom philosophy, while TSA and govt flounders around about ways to stop a major threat incident. Well Mr President, how about securing the freaking U.S. borders. There are hundreds of terrorists with their dirty bombs and suicide belts who have sneaked across the porous border along with millions of illegals over the past few years. Also many illegals are transporting drugs from the South American drug cartels using Mexico as a corridor to expand their murder, kidnappings and lawless pursuits which are spilling over the border into the USA. We need to elect a President in 2012 who takes our National Security seriously and appoints someone that is capable and competent to run Homeland Security without regard to politics and profiling. Preferably one that has the intellect, non-partisan ambition and a willingness to make informed decisions instead of being a puppet to a Pander-in-chief and world order sympathizer who does not believe his responsibilities are to protect Americans from all existential threats. When a dirty bomb incident occurs in our country Obama can always blame George Bush for starting the 911 pushback by the Muslim extremists or better yet, it most likely is the fault of Republicans who would not debate amnesty in the compreshensive immigration bill until the borders were secured. Obama wanted to pass amnesty then address border security which is a recipe for failure just like the amnesty plan that Reagan put forth for 3 million illegals way back when. Obama wants to hold border security hostage till the republicans vote for comprehensive immigration reform, which plays to partisan politics while creating a real danger to American citizens especially in border states. Ask Gov Brewer in Arizona about this horrid border security problem.

    • Larry

It seems like whenever anything happens there are always someone in a government somewhere that believes they know better ways to protect people. All of these stupid people does not look to see what has and dos work with the country’s that have already found the solution to the problem. Why do they not use this same method instead of trying to reinvent something that works and is the least expensive way of doing it. But when someone works for the Government they always seem to look for the most expensive way to do it and the most in officiant way of solving the problem instead of finding the tried and true way. But what can you expect from someone in the Government they are not the brightest people in fact they only use that thing between there ears to pound nail into the walls so its a wonder why they can’t figure out why they have a headache all the time.

    • crystal

Oh Danny, what a great point you’ve made here. You only have to look at what is happening to little boys in elementary school, to see what has happened to manhood in America. There’s an excellent book called “The War On Boys” which explains a lot of what is going on. Also, look into the results of “Title IX” and see what it has done to our sons. I took my son out of public school and am working to form sports teams outside of the public school system. We have to save our sons in order to build men.

This is an excellent article and it brings to mind what I began to see shortly after Oprah begin to huddle with those who have no jobs, no desire to be productive, and no self control. The majority of those who worship at the feet of this woman, are simple minded. May the Lord deliver us from such.

    • airangel

Yeah funny how the lefties go after the Rich when some of the richest are in their own back yard with Oprah leading the pack! As for the unemployed, they are just throwing them a bone, a life line to keep them begging for more and oh so adoring.

Problem is, our society is getting lazier and lazier with the doting on celebrities. Our Youth either want to be an actress or actor or a law maker…no wonder China and other countries are smoking us in science and technology! We really need to reform and prioritize what is important and it’s not worshipping celebs!

      • Rick

I agree, and these people are disingenuous phonies. If they truly believe in wealth redristibution, then let them give up 100% of their personal wealth as an example.

      • Lois Davis

All very good comments. You are right no one is perfect but Ophrah & any many other celebs know what they are doing. That’s why liberals stick together. Power over the people who want something for nothing. My grandfather made a statement many years ago that I have never forgotten. He said if the government really wanted to balance the budget & gets things straightened out, they should adopt the position of “no work, no eat”. Of course that did not include those who are mentally & physically unable. One big problem in this country is we have way too many wanting to sit on their butts & do nothing but want a lifestyle of those that have gotten out and worked for what they have.

Im not understand how.

Boy Martin, you need to go on a retreat or something and cleanse your spirit. Hate, hate, hate. Wow, you would have made a good Nazi during the 30s and 40s. Maybe, you still are.

      • DaveH

        Chris,
If you are not a Nazi, you are at the least a Nazi enabler. Apparently you are unaware (as are many propagandized Americans) that the Nazis were the “National Socialist German Workers’ Party”. Get it? Socialists! Like the modern day Liberals or Progressives or whatever other misleading moniker they assume.

      • Kate8

DaveH – Progressivism re-emerges time and again, throughout history, using the same old, tried-and-true tactics. Rewrite history and blame the opposition for all of their disasters.

This is why they always need two generations to pass before they try again. They need fresh minds to corrupt and turn against the wisdom of those who lived it.

      • eddie47d

Sorry to burst your bubble Dave H but it was the socialist party of Germany who didn’t like Hitler and his policies. They didn’t want Hitler to use the name socialist in his new government. They were appalled at what he was doing, but as a minority voice the real socialists could do little to change Hitlers actions. There are many Republics out there who shouldn’t be called Republics, so stop with the unfair comparisons.

      • Vicki

eddie47 offers no evidence of his assertion that the socialist German workers party rejected Hitler and his policies.

I assert that another eddie factoid shall bite the dust. (IE is untrue)

It is a long but good walk.

      • http://none Mike

Vicki, I have to agree with Eddie here. This is why. The socialist party in Germany attempted to have Hitler assinated several times while he was comming to power. He had taken their ideas to extreams throughout his rise to power. They hated him just about as bad as he hated jews and christians for the most part. Hitlers party was a dictatorship poseing as a socialist party. And they knew it maby before the rest of their country.

Eddie is a socialist in the old sence of the term. Not this new display of it.I have seen him admit several times that he dosent agree with most of the steps that Obama and George Bush did. Maby hes starting to realize that Like Hitler this is a dictatorship poseing as a socialist movement? If so we might just need to encourage people on that side of the isle to come to the realization that their ideas are being hijacked again by someone who would use them to gain total power.

I like many conservitives were blinded by the retoric on our side of the isle during the Bush years. He has done many of the same things Obama has just carried through. Homland security was one of these things. Our Beloved Bush could have fought against this with veto power but he did not. I began to wonder why and at some point I had to draw the conclusion. That he like others in our goverment he was only for the advancement of centralized power structure. If we only cared to look the only diffrence between the 2 is slow or fast power grabs. Slow is a little more incidous because like most people we tend not to wake up untill the wolf is at the door.Mike L.

      • Pete NY “R I P FEDERAL RESERVE BANK”

A lot of smoke there but not enough light. Let me point out that Hitler was opposed to the International Socialists, aka Communist Party of Germany. His brand of big government and control was called the National Socialist Party. But no matter what the adjective, BIG BIG GOVERNMENT was what both sides were after. (Patton was right-Allies should have fought the Russians all the way back to Moscow and executed Stalin, et alia.)

      • eddie47d

Vickie; This was taken directly from your Knol report:A quote from Hitler.”The petit Social Democrat and the trade union boss will never make a National Socialist but the communists always will” Several paragraphs later the author says “The German Labor Workers (SPD)rejected Hitlers policies. There was a socialist movement in Germany but it was hijacked by Hitler who turned it into his own gruesome world.

      • DaveH

No bubble burst here Eddie. As so often happens, you have made another unsupported statement as if fact. Hitler was in fact the leader of the National Socialist Workers Party of Germany:

I am glad you took the time to read the cite. I think however you read it in another world as I was unable to find either of the quotes you claim were in the dissertation. I did find this which was sortof like your 2nd quote.

“Modern day Leftists of course hate it when you point out to them that Hitler was one of them. They deny it furiously — even though in Hitler’s own day both the orthodox Leftists who represented the German labor unions (the SPD) and the Communists (KPD) voted WITH the Nazis in the Reichstag (German Parliament) on various important occasions — though not on all occasions. They were after all political rivals. It was only at the last gasp — the passage of the “Enabling Act” that gave Hitler absolute power — that the SPD opposed the Nazis resolutely.”

Of course resisting Hitlers move to officially become dictator would be when you would expect even a socialist to get a clue. Bit late don’t you think.

And while looking into Mikes claim that socialists tried to assassinate Hitler I found this wonderful tidbit.
        http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/episode/cia-secret-experiments-3313/Overview#tab-Videos/05121_00
Due to the source I do not know how much is a hit piece on the CIA and how much is true. But I thought you should be aware.

As to the assassination attempts supposedly by the socialists my original link above clearly shows Hitlers nature as a socialist and Hitler is the evidence of what happens when socialism gets a good strong grip.

Sheeple that’s what the misguided foolish Americans are. We have sold our birthright for a mess of unstable pottage. We have sown the wind and will soon reap the whirlwind of chaos when those who are dependent on the government wake up to the unpleasant knowledge that government can only give them what they have stolen from them and that there is no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Marxists now control nearly every aspect of our lives. What a shame that America which used to be the land of the free has now turned into the land of the slaves. And we have funded this destruction ourselves by our focus on me me me and turning our back on the great gift God has given u: A constitutional republic and the highest level of anonymity and self-government any nation on earth has ever known.

    • http://Illinois'17th William

Lynn pretty much nails it. For what ever reason today’s marxist government began in ernest with FDR who was put there by our grandparents and great-grandparents. It was accelerated with LBJ who was put there by our grandparents and pur parents. These people fought wars (WWII, Korea) against this type of government. Then the me, me, me boomers came along and are now RUNNING the government. (I am a boomer, but was never “one of them”) These were the long-haired, maggot infested, pot smoking, war-protesting degenerates bunch. Remember dick-for-brains, the second president to be impeached? We can clean this mess up, but it is going to take some very serious work by the Tea Party foks. The most improtant task at hand will be removing Obama in early 2011 by unearthing his ineligibilty. We can then continue cutting he head off the multi-headed snake by going after the other complicit individuals involved in this massive fraud.

        …Judges…shall be bound thereby…
…any Thing in the Constitution..to the Contrary NOTWITHSTANDING.

Notwithstanding: that means that no matter what the Constitution says, the Treaty is the ultimate law.

      • Carl

I didn’t want my post to be too long, so I broke it into two parts.

That little discrepancy about the Constitution allowing treaties to replace parts of itself is the problem we are facing with the Small Arms Treaty. The gun-haters have been unable to destroy the Second Amendment by lawful means within the confines of the Constitution, so they are willfully supporting and working for the enactment of a treaty that will automatically nullify the Second Amendment.

The treaty need only be signed by BO and accepted by the liberals in Congress, and one very important freedom evaporates, without our knowledge or consent.

You can sit around and imagine that you “know” that it can’t happen, but reality will bite you when it does happen.

      • Dan az

        Carl
I guess its all in the way you interpet it.It goes on and says(treaties (“made, or which shall be made”) that violate the U.S. Constitution by subjugating the United States to an outside power ARE PROHIBITED, of no effect, and thus, null and void.)

      • Vicki

Carl. I can provide hundreds of cites backing up the obvious assertion that our forefathers would not write the Constitution to be so trivially superseded as to allow a simple vote in the Senate to abridge the limitations clearly placed on government. You can of course refuse to believe but this does not change the self evident fact that our fore fathers were just not that dumb.

Here is a dose of reality from just one other of those hundreds
“Through its verdict in the Reid v. Covert, October 1956, the US Supreme Court stated that the court has been constantly and consistently been recognizing the supremacy of the US Constitution over a treaty.”

oldtimeyman… You are so right! The UN needs to go, the boarders need to be secured, and the IRS needs to be abolished and replaced with the Fair Tax.

      • http://GOGGLE vaksal

What you posted is exactly what has to be done(LONG,LONG AGO),but sadly the crazies have taken over the nuthouse (WASHINGTON)and will make sure their (NWO)agenda stays in place until they are all thrown out by the american voter ,but since all the elections are run by those who have corrupted the very people we have elected,EXAMPLE,today another american citizen,a police officer was gunned down on the border, and those moneys in washington are pushing for amnesty, just shows the kids in government need to get a real good spanking this coming year, but until then, better gear up,for it looks like we truly a nation under seige,by a bunch of two legged rats eating us all out of house and our homes and liberties, the few we can still enjoy, what a mess.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I agree a lot with what your saying. You have nailed the generation thing down to a T. And I do think that things can and will get better, before they get worse. There is a time coming when it will get a lot worse, but I think its going to get better for a time first. I really do.

      • Al Sieber

Berberoni, how will things get better? the dollar is crashing, Russia and China are not accepting our dollar, other countries are talking about doing the same, most of our manufacturing base left the country, they’re printing up more money every day, unemployment is at a all time high, people are losing their homes, everything etc, and this is just the beginning. just because you’re doing good doesn’t mean the whole Nation is. Main Stream Media lies to you, they’re bought and paid for they’re told what to say, it’s just entertainment, they want you to believe everything is ok or there will be riots. do some research please… or go back to sleep.

      • Dan az

        Hey Al
I think there is something wrong there maybe some one else taking his place!

      • Al Sieber

Dan Az, I think you’re right, like the invasion of the body snatchers.

    • Kate8

      Lynn – Well said.

Another thing that demonstrates this mentality is how liberals justify overtaxing wealth by saying the rich should pay more for the privilege of being ALLOWED to garner wealth in America.

We forget that, in America, it is not government that ALLOWS us rights and privileges. It was intended that WE decide what powers to ALLOW government. Our freedom comes from our Creator.

Tyranny always arises when government begins to pose as benefactor. The proverbial wolf in sheep’s clothing. And humanity falls for it, time after time, declaring this time is different.

      • Vicki

Well said. We need to state over and over again that the government has NO RIGHTS. It has ONLY the POWERS we delegate (allow) to it.

Amendments 9 and 10 re enforce this. 9 talks of the rights of the people. 10 talks of the powers the people can allow to state government and the powers that the people have allowed the federal government.

Note there are powers that we have chosen to not allow ourselves to turn over to government even if a majority of us or our representatives wanted to. The Bill of Rights being a good list of some of them.

      • Carl

Assuming that the Constitution will be followed and that we are thus protected accomplishes nothing. Isn’t it already obvious that the government doesn’t believe in the Constitution? How many times has BO stated his disdain for the Constitution? How many Legislators have laughed at the thought of adhering to the Constitution? How many in Congress have voted in favor of laws that clearly defy the Constitution? How much proof does anyone need?

      • Kate8

Carl – We can choose not to comply. Government will usurp, overstep and nudge all long as they get away with it.

How is it that we allow them to step on us, without ever a thought that maybe we don’t have to?

They are the ones who are out of line and in the wrong. We need to stand up and say “NO WAY!”

      • JC

I agree Carl. And just to help prove your point…
“The Constitution is just a damned piece of paper”
        George W. Bush.

        The probelem is “systemic”.

      • Vicki

As Kate8 says we can choose not to comply. Remember they govern only with our consent. If we en masse withdraw that consent they will not be able to handle us.

And of course our forefathers foresaw (clever chaps) that as well which is why the Constitution comes with teeth. I.E. The 2nd Amendment. This discussion (the constitution as just a piece of paper) is EXACTLY why the 2nd is just as relevant and necessary today as it was 200+ years ago. This in spite of gun grabbers claims that the 2nd is no longer valid.

It is much easier to get consent from slaves than freemen.

  • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You say we are oppressed. I know I got real angry when I heard Tom Cruise say that, as I know full well he makes millions in the United States and has life by the tail. He seems really oppressed. Im so pissed by him saying this, that I havent watched one of his movies since, nor will I. Now Im just a middle class guy, who was raised poor, one of six kids, with a father that worked hard and never made more than 10 bucks an hour up to the time he retired in 1990, and he had what was considered a pretty good job then. I do not feel oppressed in the least in this country. I can work where I want to work. I can move to any state I want to move to. I can go in and out of any building I want to. I can vote for whomever I want to vote. I can drink and smoke if I like, or I can be sober and not smoke. I can freely worship the Lord my God, as can others who have a different god. I can drive my car, take a train, fly in a plane. I can leave the country and come back in. I can be good and help people or I can be rotten and take from people. Its all up to me and my conscience as to what I might do or not do. So if your feeling oppressed, while you are raking in your big bucks, you need to do a search of yourself and find out why. But me, Im not oppressed by this country in any way, shape or form. If some of you are, then Im sorry for you, and for those of you who think I am oppressed and dont know it, then you are making a rationalization you know nothing about, as you dont know me and my life. I am fully free. I am free of fear of the government, and I am free of the fear of man. They ever want to come take me out and shoot me, so be it. But I wont be imprisoned by it. Im free. I am a son of God, as He has told me many times in his word. That is why I am free. But oppressed? No, not me, not at all. Nor should anyone in this country be oppressed. All I saying, is if you feel you are oppressed, there is someone you can go to, that will remove it and set you free. But thats up to you, not me.

    • mickey

Actually, I think we are oppressed. We have no control over our most basic of basic needs, our food. We apparently have no control over the vaccines given not only contained in our food nor our kids’ bodies–49 vaccines or they don’t go to school? We have no control over our borders. We have no control over the corps when all this is going on with the consent of government.

We all need to look at some of the documentaries out there on food, immigration, etc. (These are available on Netflix.com, Dr Mercola, Numbersus.org, FAIR, etc.) The SB510 keeps us from growing a garden in our own backyard, buying organic food, a whole host of things just so the big corps don’t have to label what is in their food.

The fact that we can see move around doesn’t mean we aren’t suppressed. They took our houses, even without proof of ownership of the loans.

Yes, we are oppressed, just too many don’t know it–yet.

I haven’t watched Oprah for some time. I don’t agree with the massive giveaway, the money could have gone back into the economy in a much more needed way. I don’t agree with the extended unemployment as not only are these people making more than my retirement, the amount of compensation exceeds the amount a lot of businesses can’t afford to pay to get them off. The government seems hell bent on benefits instead of focusing on putting people back into a work environment.

The only way out of this is to fight and that is a plus for the unemployed because they have idle time.

I think when a major figure like Ted Turner says we need to get rid of 4 billion people, there is a problem.

      • 2WarAbnVet

If folks think they’re oppressed now, “they ain’t seen nothin’ yet”. Next year hundreds of new regulations come into effect, the new school food regulations are only one example. As Michelle told us, what children eat is, “too important to be left up to parents”.

      • mickey

Yes, and follow the money to Michelle.

      • mickey

And 1/3 of the children born after 2000 are expected to have diabetes. Go figure that GM food began in 1998.

      • Joyce from Loris

And please do not forget Autistic children. In 1980, one in every 30,000 child was born autistic. Today, one in every 140 child is born autistic. And they can’t figure out why.

      • eddie47d

Good comments but I do have to agree more with Berberoni’s this time.

      • Richard Pawley

There is much truth in what Berberoi says but also in what Micky says as well. John Milton, the poet, once said, “the mind is it’s own place and can make a heaven of hell or a hell of heaven.” We do have great freedom in this country BUT we are on the verge of losing it. For nearly a hundred years the ideas of Karl Mark have grown in popularity where there are now a hardcore 8% who believe in progressive income taxes (one of his inventions), free sex for all (Marx was opposed to marriage) and the subjugation of the masses for the benefit of the elite (while saying it is all for the benefit of the masses. Ha ha!). Most call it the fight between good and evil and it has been going on since before man began. We now even have a new player called ISLAM which means “submit”. We are on the verge of losing any freedoms, one of which is what we can eat (GMO food is fostered on us all without us being told it is in most of our food. At least in Europe the population is warned as labels are required. Genetically engineered crops don’t produce as much as others and often require 200 to 400% more chemicals to produce anything – by the way they were introduced in the early 1990′s nearly 20 years ago. I go out of my way to avoid any corn, soybean, non-cane sugar sugar, canola, and cotton seed oil products – not so easy to do – unless they are ORGANIC). Even chicken farmers who want to raise free range organic eggs have a hard time finding organic chicken feed unless they grow their own. Most of our congress is either ignorant or bought and sold on these issues. Their beliefs on these issues are not based on facts but on fantasy and for the most part they vote the way they are instructed. In my autobiography, LEAVING SOUTH CAROLINA, I warned about HR4167, which was another food bill power grab which dozens of state attorney generals opposed. Senate Bill 510 was just the latest of these food safety bills that are “for our own good,” but which would have greatly affected the AMISH who use only seeds that God and nature provided and no chemicals. The fact that they have almost no autism is considered some kind of statistical error by those who have no interest in truth but only in birth to death control of everyone but their own fallen natures. So in my mind the FDA seems to be just a tool of big agri-business and their quest to control the food supply of the world along with those things that can actually help people stay healthy. If they do anything to actually protect the public it is all but incidental. In my recent book on the economy and the last days of our great nation (if we keep on the same path we are treading) I mentioned how Canada almost passed a law making it illegal to even give your children the vitamins and minerals that would make them healthy with fines up to $5 million for any mother who dared crossed the line. Thank God for the power of the Internet and the intelligence of the Canadians who learned in time about this and defeated it. Now our government wants to be able to control free speech and the Internet because “to much information is a burden” for us. The only thing that is a burden is TO MUCH GOVERNMENT, but that will soon end as congress continues to destroy the dollar and eventually our economy and then the economy of the world. Who would have thought that such a small percentage of greedy God-haters could wreck so much havoc on the world. I could go on and on. Fortunately the sleeping giant of the slumbering public is beginning to awake. Socialism is not and has never been the key to anything but the control of the masses by the elite, and no American soldier, sailor, airman or marine ever enlisted to fight for socialism. Decent people can not longer fly on public airlines and the government insists that they own our bodies as well. On top of that, they want to control our souls as well and make it illegal for us to even think certain thoughts! Political correctness gone amuck! The pre-colonial Tories have taken over (not to be confused with the present day Tories in England who are in fact the conservatives). Is there hope? Yes, we haven’t lost the country or the economy yet, but we must get our household in order and stop the squandering of borrowed money or we are all going to lament the world wide suffering all this will eventually cause. The hour is late and the 111th Congress is still spending. They were not able to destroy the country in the past four years but they are still trying. No more debt or you will be paying for it in far more than just money. May God bless the United States of America because no one else is going to do so.

      • Kate8

Richard Pawley – Thoughtful and truthful post.

I understand why so many don’t want to face the truth about what’s transpiring in the world, especially America. Such things have gone on in other countries all along, but we’ve always felt protected. Well, it was bound to come around to us eventually.

Imagine if this mentality had prevailed in the colonies. We’d still be subjects of the Crown, and it’s doubtful there would have been our level of liberty anywhere in the world. Thank God we had real statesmen and a courageous citizenry who cared more for posterity than they did for their own lives.

I sure hope we are still the home of the brave. We have largely become the home of the entitled, poisoned, drugged and deluded.

      • Viktor Leben

        Hey Everyone !

The Americans are experiencing alot of genetic mutations. We are becoming sub human. The population is getting dumber …

      • Zeromonet

CODEX!!!! That is the problem and Monsanto!!! I’ve read and researched this and it is bad news for the population. They meet in different nations and decide how much poison, insecticides, etc they should allow in the food supply and now- vitamins. This is insane and should be ended- Now!

      • Bruce D.

If Americans do not feel oppressed by big government, including rich ones, there is something wrong with them. Maybe the only thing you cannot do in America without a license and government permission is fish on the shore of the ocean. Also at the most basic evey day levels police have gone from protecting our neighborhoods to tax collectors on the highways causing traffic jams at peak hours. We were suppose to have basic freedoms where we do not have to be rich to feel free.

      • Joyce from Loris

Mickey, you sure make some very valid points.

Some of your statements make total sense, but some are way out there. Like we cant grow a garden? Excuse me? I can grow corn, tomatoes, peppers, onions, melons, anything I want. If I want to go to the store and buy organic, I go and buy organic. I dont know where you get that from. Maybe your state is like that, but Indiana sure isnt.

      • Carl

You have been able to grow your own garden in the past, but with the new regulation, you will be in violation of the law if you continue to grow your own food. The government is slowly stripping our freedoms from us. The U.N. “Small Arms” treaty, being gleefully pushed by Mizery Clinton, will strip away our rights to own firearms. That, too, is being ignored by the leftist press, but the fact that most people are unaware of it doesn’t mean that it isn’t going on.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

If this is true, I will love to see them try to enforce it. I mean, there are thousands upon thousands of warrants out for peoples arrests, and they dont have the man power to go after them. There are thousand of illegal aliens running around, and they dont have the man power to go after them. You really seriously think that they are going to have a garden nazi going out to tear up peoples gardens? I wonder how many bullets these guys will be willing to take to approach people and tell then they are under arrest for growing food. I may be wrong, and it wont be the first time, but I find it laughable that they can have that many “garden nazi’s) to enforce this stupidity. Im thinking that nationwide, that would be in the thousands. I just dont see that happening.

      • Karolyn

Beberoni is right. I think you’re reading too much propaganda BS by your friendly neighborhood rabble-rouser. I’ve read plenty about the food safety bill, and it says nothing about backyard gardens. Did you contact your senators about it?

      • Kate8

Beberoni – The fines start at $10,000. Not many people can risk that.

With satellite surveillance and GPS devices, they can find anyone they want. Besides, haven’t you heard that Odumbo is expanding the civilian army force.

      • outspoken

Talking about he NEW regs for 2011…..restrictions will be coming from FDA regarding seeds etc. Too many people are NOT paying attention to just what is coming out of washington these days, by the time people wake up it will be too late.

      • Kate8

Beberoni – Haven’t you been following the furor over S510, the “food safety” bill?

It’s not really about safety. It’s about corporate control over what we are allowed to eat. A federal judge even ruled that government DOES have the authority to tell us what we must eat.

And yes, it does lead to the illegality of ALL organic food growing, even backyard gardens.

Get ready for the Food Police.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I would love to be a fly on the wall when the come knock on the door of Wild Indian, or .45 caliber, or many that post here, and tell them they cant grow food. Ive a feeling a lot of these guys would just seem to disappear. When it comes down to survival, people have to eat. And if it comes down to eating and staying alive, or some whack job coming to tell you that you cant have food, well, lets just put it mildly, and say, I wouldnt want to be that food nazi guy. Life will not be to pleasant for him at that point. I assure you that.

      • Kate8

Beberoni – Oh, you can have food. Just only the food they say you can have.

Sooner or later, when supplies are scarce, you will have to wait in line to feed your family, and to get food you must all take the chip.

      • Heidi

Beberoni – you’re right, you can grow a garden – now. Wait a few years though, you won’t be able to. With all the legislation and bio-engineering of our food supply it will become increasingly more difficult to get any seeds that actually produce, and the government will come up with “reasons” to make it illegal to grow organic food. Like, “we’re protecting the public from e-coli infections”. E-coli has been around since the beginning. Why has it become a problem recently? Because it’s a good way to scare the masses into compliance. This gives the elite the opportunity to take control of the food supply. Watch – we will have to take a “mark” to buy and sell food!

      • Kate8

Heidi – They already have a reason, and have used it in court to put good farmers out of business.

It is cross-contamination on patented GMO seeds. So the courts have ruled that the farmers cannot use those contaminated seeds, as it violates the patent-holder’s rights. That being Monsanto.

This means that no one can save their own seed, and organic seeds will be illegal. If you want to grow a garden, you must use GMO seed, purchased every year from Monsanto.

I don’t doubt it! Sad how our society has made “gods” out of people who put their pants on one leg at a time!!

      • Claire

If I were that rich, I would not be giving cars away (however, they can be sold). I would feed the hungry and neglected children in America. I would help the honest charities and the honest poor. To me, that is what true charity is all about. Oh! I would also help the neglected and abandoned animals. I had to add that!

      • Bruce D.

Opera is just adding to the greed and lust in America. She should put her wealth into special education for the black youth in the cities. In 5 or 6 years people will just have an old car. Teach them values and they will have them forever.

      • Copperman

People can make choices, support them to get out of a pinch is okay.
Helping the animals is maybe better, dogs and cats can not open the refigiratoe door.

      • Heidi

Cute – a little humor is always good. You made me laugh! BTW I have three dogs. Not all mine, but I take care of them anyway. They didn’t have a choice – they’ve been domesticated and now we’re responsible! I do support three children abroad – they didn’t have a choice either. I wish more people would give up buying a sweater for their dog and help children who need it (whether in this country or abroad). I’ve been unemployed for 6 months and am hoping I can continue support these children, and the dogs!!

    • Stephen

I am happy for you, not being oppressed and all. It brings to mind a lyric, “You can’t escape if you think your free.”

The United States has become a large cage and you, evidently, live close to the center and can’t see the bars.

      • Kate8

Stephen – That IS the whole idea: happy, willing slaves who don’t know they aren’t free.

      • Claire

I will not become oppressed. I will fight with every bone in my body. I will fight against oppression with all the strength that I have. I will NOT allow it. I will die first.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I agree Claire. When and if I feel oppression, I will take the proper steps to counter it. I am even being pro-active in it. But for now, I am not oppressed what so ever, and many seem paranoid that big old bad government is coming to get them. Many had this cry way back in the 1930′s. Many live in fear all their lives. Not I. I refuse to live in fear, or to live oppressed. Many oppress themselves in this life, and blame others. I refuse to do that. My freedoms are just that, my freedoms, and no one is going to take them from me. Some think me dumb and some thing me blind, but Im free as free can be, and I will remain that way, regardless of the government may or may not do. They wont hold me hostage, and they cannot control my mind or my heart, and that is what sets me free. Some dont understand, but many have chosen to live their life in the darkness, void of light, and it is no wonder they are so full of doom and gloom.

      • Karolyn

Beberoni -Even though we may have some differences in our religious views, I am totally with you on this. We choose whether to be free or to live in darkness.

      • Kate8

Beberoni – I completely understand what you are saying. Until we are actually faced with abject tyranny and misery, though, we don’t really know how we will deal with it.

History is filled with stories of God’s people who suffered under tyrants. Not many had the faith and courage of their convictions, but some did. Even most of the apostles died horrific deaths at the hands of evil, and Christ had empowered them with Truth.

There have also been incidences of God intervening to save some people from disasters. But we don’t know why He saves some and gives some over.

I like to read Psalm 91 over and over again. This holds a convenant, God’s promise to His faithful for times such as these.

      • Karolyn

Give me a freakin’ break! Waaa Waaa Waaa! All you can do is whine and moan about all the bad things there are. Why not focus on some good like Beberoni did. Like I’m sure you have it soooo bad! The more negativity that goes out, the more negativity is created. Go live in Appalachia in a shack; or better yet, see how you like it in China. I never hear any gratitude coming out of the majority of mouths that post here. We are all blessed and very fortunate to be where we are.

      • ONTIME

Are you saying, “You makes your choices and you pays your monies.”? For the most part with the exception of major calamitys, this is most likely the case.

” Decadence is a choice, not a inevetibility.” How true.

      • Karolyn

        Absolutely!

      • Carl

Yes, we “are blessed” to be living here, so let’s all close our eyes and ignore the reality that the government is enslaving us.

      • Kate8

Karolyn – We’re down to constant vigilance and fighting Congress, every day, to try to keep them from taking away liberties, one by one. This goes for trying to protect yours, as well, even though you seem perfectly willing to give up some freedom for som “government help”.

You want to talk whaaa whaaa? How about your victim complex? Your lamenting the “inferior” status of women. The poor, picked on Islamists vs the evil Christians. Shall I go on?

You give me a break. You are guilty of every accusation you throw out here.

      • Kate8

Besides that, Karolyn, many of us come here so we can talk about these issues with others who know what’s going on. It’s an outlet in a world of zombies.

If you don’t like the conversation, there are other places you could go. For the life of me I can’t figure why you libs come here just to criticise and ridicule.

        Easy money, I guess.

      • Karolyn

“Easy money”? What are you talking about Kate. I come here for the same reason that conservatives go to liberal sites. If I can get one person to see beyond the tip of his nose, I’m happy. Unfortunately, most of you do not even want to consider the fact that there could be something we can learn from EACH OTHER. I have.

Karolyn – I lived on your side, for many years. I woke up. I’ve heard, and spouted, most everything you have to say myself. There is nothing you can say to me that I haven’t already been around the block with.

Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt. And I’m not going back. Not in your life.

      • Angel Wannabe

        Kate, You Go Girl!

      • Karolyn

Kate – I know you’ve been here Kate, but I doubt that many people who post here can say the same. I do know that many are senior citizens who aren’t interested in changing or learning new things, so I don’t hold much hope for any change there; however, just as I learned in AA: if I can plant one seed…. I have been an optimist and a student of people, as well as a champion of the underdog all my life; and I’m not gonna change either.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Karolyn,
AA also teaches you to take each day one day at a time. Well if we don’t look to the future and what it might bring then we deserve what we get. Maybe you can beat drinking one day at a time, but all of life isn’t like that!!

      • Karolyn

Joe, You are sadly mistaken. We only have one day at a time, 1 minute at a time, 1 hour at a time.

      • Claire

I am proud to say I am a senior citizen. I voted for “change.” Did I get it? I received “change” alright but it amounted to half-assed change. I listened to the campaign speeches– no more earmarks, no more lobbysists, etc. A half-assed health reform with no public option. What happened to the so-called changes? America is stuck with an administrtion that will be just like the one beginning in 2011.
Not all seniors are “stuck in the mud” without wanting change. Not all seniors are willing to stand by the wayside and do nothing. I do not want a continuation of the past 30-40 years. I WANT to learn new things, I WANT change, but I want it the honest and correct way. Not the half-assed way. If something is to be changed, do it, do it right and for the betterment of America or don’t do it at all.

      • Claire

        Grrrr– “administration”

      • Kate8

Claire – Socialism is definitely not the kind of change we need. And Obamacare, with or without public option (and you can be sure that will come) is socialism. And it isn’t even about health. It’s about control, and I don’t want it.

I don’t use allopathic healthcare, and I don’t want to be forced into buying it. It dismays me that you would have me forced into something I don’t want and won’t (willingly) use.

To do this Congress had to trample the Constitution, and usurp authority. Is this okay with you? You want yet more of the same type of tyranny and intrusion from BigBro? I didn’t think you did, but this healthcare debacle is nothing less than tyranny.

Anyway, seniors will be at the bottom of the priority list for care. If you can call it that.

      • Claire

Kate8–You know me better than that. I don’t want anything “forced” on anyone. Health Reform? Sure, we got it, but a public option would have been better that what we ended up with. Either way, they got it through and I figured they would. This is for starters and I cringe to think what is coming up next. As I said, change is fine, but my last sentences of my post says a lot. If they can’t do it “right” then don’t do it at all. And I am well aware that the seniors will be trampled on too. They already have been.
All administrations have trampled on the Constitution and all Americans in one way or another. Look how they handle each issue—just so each could get what they wanted out of a piece of legislation. They are not thinking of America’s well-being, they are thinking of themselves. Less government and control is needed. The only adage –less is more–applies.

      • Claire

Karolyn: I lived in a “shack” when I was a little kid. No running water, an outhouse, no electricity. I have been there, done that and I sure as heck am not whining. I had a wonderful Mother, she did her best for my sisters and I. No, I will not complain about being raised poor. Instead, I will speak praise for my Mother and how hard she worked for her family. Applachia? Yeah, kinda sounds like how I was raised-right here in Illinois.

      • Bruce D.

Pryer to the 60s being poor did not mean you were a criminal or a beggar. The left has worked hard to give people the feeling of entitlement. The left ideology has destroyed whole segments of the population, one in which it only had value if you earned it and handouts were demeaning.

      • Claire

Bruce D–My Mother taught my sisters and I to be proud even though we were so poor. She said there was no shame in being poor, only in being lazy. She taught us to be good workers, to do our best so that we would NEVER have to be on welfare. She taught us to hold our heads up, and by being hard workers we would reap the fruits of our labor. She taught us self-confidence and gave us self-esteem. She was our rock, our guide, our mentor. She passed in 1991 and is in a better place with God. After all these years, I still think of her every day.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Your dead on correct Karolyn. And you nailed just exactly what is wrong with this country. We have so many freedoms and so many blessings, and have it so easy, compared to most of the world. And people just dont think that is enough. They want more and more, never content or happy with what they have. Always wanting more. And Ive said it once and Ill say it again, as a metaphor because some just didnt understand it the first time. We are born with a Jesus shaped hole in our heart. Until we accept Him, as He is reaching out to us, and place Him in there and fill that hole, we will never be filled. People spend their lives through, chasing after money and cars and women and gold and silver, and basically all the things the world flashes in front of us. All the things that are fading and going to go away. And as long as these things are what people are searching for, they will be forever searching. One should always be thankful for what they have, not in envy of what they dont have. We have the most freedom and opportunity and amenities known to man here in these United States, but to read some posts, you would think we were all hiding in the woods, starving to death, as Stalin and his death crews are out there with flashlights hunting us down like animals. It isnt like that. We are so blessed, so so blessed. But unless someone has Jesus in their life, they arent going to know that. They are going to fear the government, think of themselves first, and be paranoid that someone is out to get them. Funny how satan plays with the minds of those in the dark. But you see, he can, because he still owns them and their souls. They are his property, and he deceives them to the point where they cannot even see the good that surrounds them. Whereas when one invites this Jesus into their lives, their eyes and ears get opened, and they can look around and see the good everywhere, and can pick the bad out of the good and see it clearly. I know we are a blessed nation, and I know I am fully free, and I am not oppressed at all. But there is a day coming, when it will be open day on the Christian. Its coming faster and going to get a lot worse. I expect to be hated on. But I will remain free, because I do not belong to this world, nor am I enamored or imprisoned by the things in this world. Material things mean nothing to me, as they will one day all fade away. I guess some just dont get it, but then again, they cant get it, because satan still has the blinders on them.

      • Heidi

Beberoni – you are right, people are blinded by satan. Many will be deceived. I don’t feel oppressed, but I am aware that there are many out there who are trying to oppress us – especially Christians. Oviously darkness can not destroy light – it is the other way around. I pray for guidance and discernment so I might be able to thwart the schemes of the elite and be a help and a blessing to others. One thing we can not do in heaven is to reach out to the lost. We do need to be wise and alert now!

      • Richard Pawley

Over 150,000 a year have been leaving the USA each year but that doesn’t help us who are left who can’t or don’t choose to leave. If freedom is worth fighting for then we need to vote out every Democrat, Republican and Independent who refuses to vote for what “we the people” want. It is up to us. We can’t just elect them and trust they will be impervious to all the corruption and temptations on the Hill. Most average Americans could not even imagine what they are up against and we can’t imagine what we are all going to have to face if the waste of money is not stopped!

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Richard,
This is my country, I was born here and I will die here!!! whether is is sooner or later is not up to me!! I will defend my country and its way of life till I am no longer part of the living!

      • Bruce D.

Nice post Steven. Another one, “There are none so blind as those who refuse to see”.

    • DaveH

You can tiptoe through the tulips with your god all you want, Beberoni. That does not change the fact that people are increasingly being harrassed and ripped-off by Big Government. Will you still be singing the praises of your imagined Freedom when the Nazis break down your doors to inspect your home for illegal goods (anything the state does not want you to have)?
If we don’t get together and act soon to turn around the cancer that has infected this nation, we will be doomed to tyranny.

      • mickey

DavidH, they are already doing that with the coming of Cap and Trade. Does your utility ask for you to attach something to monitor your power usage? Mine does, but only because it is a coop. City utility people already have this attached monitor (no premission needed).

What about the fly overs for your greenhouse? SB510 allows corps to sue you for patent infringement if you save your own seed, grow or use food you grow or to even share it with your neighbor. Corps are not responsible for over spray, killing your crop, but will sue you if your crops survive.

      • chrome lined

The lemmings who encounter me in conversation get an ear-full of rhetoric that I either preface or close with the simple fact that it is their responsibility to check the facts that my “opinion” just keyed them onto. They have the choice between the proverbial red pill or the blue pill. The kook-aid drinkers are still out there, but those that remain are the morons who have chosen to be slaves and not think for themselves–admitting quite openly that they are incapable of self-reliance and governance, and require another entity to tell them what to do, when to do it, and where they are allowed to do it. I see them as cannon fodder, or soilent green.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

There is no need to be sarcastic Dave. Are you telling me, that Im not allowed to have my opinion? That sound like something that would come from eyes, denniso or flushman. When we are stopped from being allowed to have an opinion that differs from someone, and are punished for it, that would be oppressive. And I am free, and God does provide this freedom for me. I dont fear the government, and I dont fear any man. I dont need to. Man is not in control of things, and I fully know that. God is. There is nothing they or anyone can do to me, without His approval, so you see, I dont need to worry about a thing. He has taken care of me for 52 years, even the first 40 I walked without Him, so why should I doubt Him now. What is going to be, is going to be, and there is no need for me to worry or live my life in fear that the evil government is coming to get me. You may see that happening and that is your opinion, and I fully support your right to have that and feel that way. And yes, I feel many aspects of our government are rotten and need changed, and yes I will do what I can at my level to change it. But Im not going to sit here and worry and play woe is me the government is going to send nazi’s knocking on my door, because I know for a fact, as long as we have an armed citizenry, that isnt going to happen. Its just not going to happen. Attack God if you like, and on that one, I will willingly and knowingly tell you, that your going to lose that one. You can win with men, and convince them of whatever it may be, but God is the truth, and the truth will be, and when you get your chance, and you will get your chance, you can bow there before Him and look Him in the eye and tell Him He doesnt exist. Me, Im not even going there. Ive had the light put in me and the truth revealed, and yes, I want you and all to know it, because without it, and its not my opinion, this one is the truth, you live in a darkness that will eventually consume you. You may be good and strong and moral for now, but there will come a time, without God’s protection in you, the dark will consume you. And this is not to attack you or cut you down in anyway like you are doing to me, this is out of Love I tell you this, as your life depends on it. And I dont mean the miniscule time you spend on earth as your life. This is just one inch on a measuring tape from here to eternity. The rest of the tape you spend somewhere. What you do during that inch, determines the rest of it. The light will set you free my friend, and you can attack it, reject it, attack me and those like me all you want, but there is a day when you will see the light, and it will be great, or it will be too late. That my friend, I have no control over. Only you do.

      • Carl

Beberoni, the government IS trying to make it illegal to have a differing opinion. Whether they call it “Net Neutrality” or “The Fairness Doctrine,” they are trying to shut down any program, especially on FOX, that allows people to express disagreement with the government overlords.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

On the fairness doctrine, which isnt fair, you are confusing the government, with the Democrats. Two different entities. The government, and what they do, is our fault, as we are the ones that placed them there. Without us, the people, they have no power or position. So maybe we should follow the way God set it up, and told us, to “Elect Godly men”. Gee, seems we have pretty much gotten away from that now, havent we. And we wonder why their is so much corruption in government. Pretty easy for me to see why.

      • Kate8

Beberoni – I agree that we should put our faith and trust in God, and not live in fear. One often repeated admonition in scripture is “Fear not!”

Scripture also speaks at great length of the End Times, and most will be unaware and deluded. God commands us to watch and be vigilant, lest we be deceived. He also says that great trouble will come like thief in the night. Remember the story of the man’s house that was broken into by theives? He said that if he knew they were coming, he would have made preparation.

Also, “They will say ‘peace, peace, when there is no peace.” And, “As it was in the days of Noah.” People will be going on with life as normal, and will be struck unprepared and unawares.

By all means, live by faith. It is by facing evil square on that we gain power and overcome fear. It is likewise important that we understand the things that are speeding our way. We may need to take action. The Bible is full of stories of God’s people who fled to avoid death at the hands of rulers. Even Joseph took Mary and fled to safety.

We had a great run in America, and we took it for granted. It is by our lack of vigilance that we are near forfeiting it. The fact that we have not yet felt the full brunt of force yet does not mean we should ignore the fact that evil is upon us. We should all the more appreciate that when we awaken we have another day to be with loved ones and live our lives in relative peace.

Just because we come here to talk about these things doesn’t mean that it’s all we think about, or that we are not grateful for what we have. I actually have very little compared to most folks. In fact, many of those on public assistance have it better than I. But I have more than I need, to be sure, and I cherish everything I have, especially my family and friends.

        But that’s just me.

      • Claire

        Kate8– Good post.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You have a good heart, and God will bless you for it. With Him, you will remain free.

beberoni, i can’t live with my head in the clouds believing that GOD will do anything to keep this country’s government from terrorizing me or my family. you sound like an AA survivor. This can not be the way to change anything. put your head in the ground and pray. that has worked so well in places like mexico and other 3rd world countries. and it isn’t working here either. it is only soothing to you so therefore it must be working. i would like to know how we as an individual and as a group, actually do to keep this terror from happening. at what level do we attack .

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Again, its easy. What you seem to not understand, as it is written, that with men, somethings are possible, but with God, ALL things are possible. And He has told us “If my people pray, I will heal their land”. Are enough of us praying? Many times in the old testament, God’s people rebelled against Him. They worshipped false gods and became decadent. He would have enough, and deliver them to their enemies. But, He always kept a remnant for Himself. The Remnant was the few that stayed true to Him. In the time of Noah, it was no more than Noah and his family. When He comes again, it will only be the Christians that have stayed true to His word. And I do pray that He heal our land. But I also know, there are many that dont. Many are filled with the illusion that they are their own god, and by being a so called good and moral person is enough. Not so. Did the clay make itself into a pot? No, it took the potter to make it into a beautiful pot. The potter molded the clay, which was before just a worthless clump of dirt. God is the potter, we are the clay. Without Him, we are just worthless clumps of dirt. We will be delivered one day into the hands of our enemies and it will be a vicious and savage day for those who do not know God. So you all can scoff and mock me, just as they did my Lord, and He will bless me for it. But I tell you all this for your own good, as it profits me none, it is the work the Father has commission me and others like me to do. He was, He is, and He is to come. And you will all meet Him. Maybe you might want to get yourselves prepared.

        Beberoni
You have just explained to me why the jews gave up and didnt put up a fight. And were led to there slaughter.Didnt get it untill now.Didnt God give them the right to survival by fighting for what they believed in and not to waste their lives by submission? Im pretty sure they had the ability to not martyr them selves for the sake of mankind Christ already did that so are you saying that its just ok with you that what is going on isnt something to worry about?

      • Bruce D.

A little long winded for me Beberoni but I agree that you should be able to say anything you want in a respectfully way and get a respectful answer. When one disagrees it is not always easily to be respectful but it is something we should all strive for. It will make a better society in my opinion and result in better posts.

      • mamabear

The freedom that you speak of is what the founding fathers claimed for our nation. They were confident that theirs was a devine task to create a new nation. Since that time, there have been many fights in which many have given their lives to protect that freedom. We are in the midst of our fight. Each of us will play our roles. While most posts here deal with passing on information and educating people on history, both current and past, your post is more spiritual. Man’s view of his freedom is in the balance of fear. Fear can be a powerful motivator or a crippling stagnator. Thank you for reminding me that I can walk through this dark valley and fear no evil. I am just one of those people who love God, this country and my family. I will keep the light on and the powder dry!

    • American Citizen

Bebe, usually I agree with you, but don’t bury your head in the sand. The government is slowly but surely taking over our lives and if we don’t stop it, we’ll all be slaves to it.

      • eddie47d

I believe Bebe was trying to say that things can be bad but you can still hang onto to your own thoughts and not let the problems of the world overwhelm you. Some folks are put into horrible situations in life and it’s amazing how well they come out of that experience. Bitterness can control a persons life and they can’t see beyond that feeling.

      • Karolyn

Right Eddie. The more you dwell on bad stuff, the worse it will be. I surely won’t be surprised if what these doomsayers say does come true, not because of anything other than they keep pushing it.

      • Carl

That’s how it always happens. People are told to shut up and be complacent, don’t spread discontent. Then, when the government becomes totalitarian, people wonder how it could have happened without them knowing about it.

Im not blind to what they are doing, and the amount of intrusions into our lives. All Im saying is, Im free and not oppressed. If someone wants to understand oppression, be a cuban living in Cuba. Be a woman in Iran, or any of those nations that treat their women worse than dogs. That is being oppressed. Live in the Sudan, where if your a from a certain place or a certain blood line, they kill you. Thats oppression. Just because our leaders are jerks that are greedy and selfish, and are looking out for themselves, does not mean I have to be like that also, or cry oppression. One can only be oppressed here as much as he allows himself to be oppressed. Im not going there. Im free as free can be. And we all are. And yes, for now. It may change. It may not. I like to think on the may not side. And it isnt our leaders that are going to do us in. We move away from God enough, He will be the one to remove His protections from us, and give us over to our enemies, and usually they are a lesser enemy and he uses them to perform His functions. Just as the Greeks, the Romans and the Medo-Persian Empires before us that were huge, they were all given over to their enemies as they became decadent and perverted to where God said enough is enough, and He took them out. And one doesnt have to look far, to see we are on the same path. Then we will know oppression. To cry that now, for me is rediculous. But I fully support their right to have an opinion different than mine. That is what makes this country great. When it comes that we arent allowed to have different opinions, again, that is when we are truly oppressed.

This country is slimed out right now with these starry-eyed, dreamy smiled, I’ve-got-religion types with their “he’s got the whole world in his hands” delusional security blanket and they, and you, are categorically part of the problem, not the solution. I would definitely have the tap water where you live very accurately and impartially analyzed chemically.

      • Karolyn

We are all free inside our own heads and can choose to feel free or to succumb to gloom and doom. I choose to LIVE and be joyful, despite all the injustice and oppression. Just glad I’m not you!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Thanks Karolyn. You are the voice of reason on this one. People can attack God all they want. He welcomes it. He isnt the fuddy duddy those that dont know Him think He is. He invites dialogue. He Loves it when we come to talk to Him. I know He doesnt mind when I get pissed at Him when I see things I feel He shouldnt let happen. He invites that dialogue with Him. Without a dialogue between two, nothing ever gets resolved or revealed. And the great thing is, all these people who say He doesnt exist, even though evidence of Him is everywhere. They all will get to meet Him face to face and give an account of themselves to Him one day. And being the loving God He is, He will give them the desires of their heart, and send them to a place where they will never ever hear His name or be bothered by Him again. So all you that are running your mouths attacking me, keep it up. I expect it, because His word tells me I will have trouble in this world (John 16:33). I am free, and I choose to live free, just as you say you do Karolyn. Why live in fear and worry (Matthew 6: 24-34). Im like you Karolyn, I will live free until its my time to leave. Without the peace of God, this cant be done, as you see by the many posts in here by people that dont know Him.

He has his hand in every aspect of our lives and its only a matter of time now before he closes his grip entirely. This will come in the seizeing of 401k plans and any savings we have left. You see if we dont spend it right away we make too much and can afford to share. Its becomming the U.S.S.A fast now. Lets hope when the new guys get in in January they can put the breaks on this but somehow I doubt it. Every pice is in placs now for that dream communist takeover of our country. Mike L.

Taxes are oppressive ,yes. But there is a way out. Quit work and become a missionary. There you go. Everything on your list has been taken away. So I guess, if we are doing Gods things, the oppression leaves, but when we are on the trail of man, and serving this other god, called money, all these oppressive taxes rear their heads.

      • Angel Wannabe

Beberoni, I get what your saying, we cannot serve two Gods, but we also have to live in this world as well.
I was born in the 50′s_back then we all believed in the same things, the same God, h*ll it was even pretty cool, to go to other peoples churches, just to see how they worshipped. Today a simple gesture of saying Merry Christmas, practically starts WWIII! Even if folks don’t believe in Christ or Christmas, whats wrong with just saying Thank You and going about your business._Or even just a friendly nod of Thanks!__

With all that said___For all practical purposes we need money to live, But God also says, “The “Love” of Money is the root of all evil”__
In other words, We can’t over do it!__We have to know the distinct difference between “want” and “need”!__A lot of folks have a hard time with that one. What we need to live is Food, Clothes, warmth, a Roof and Water! Anything else is material__Insurance is 50/50, chances are you won’t use it__Life insurance you will use at some point.

On another note, Although we a Christians live as spiritually as we can, we can’t turn a blind eye to our surroundings either?!_
Gods says Colossians 2:8 “See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.”
        God also says__

Matthew 25:1 (This is reference to be spiritually and physically ready).
The Parable of the Ten Virgins
(1)At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. (2)Five of them were foolish and five were wise. (3)The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. (4)The wise, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. (5)The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
(6)At midnight the cry rang out: Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!
(7)Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. (8)The foolish ones said to the wise, Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.
        (9) No, they replied, there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.
10)But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.

It’s a choice Beberoni,_ it’s a choice, and balancing act between spirituality and the ways of the World.

      • http://none Mike

Angel, Well said and backed up. Keep hammering maby we can reach some of the borderline people out here. If not we can allways shine the light of truth on them. :) Mike L.

      • Carl

So, what’s a little taxation among friends? As Congressman Weiney says, “Don’t you agree that we need taxes?”

      • Dan az

        Hey angel
You saved it!Good for you and that wasnt the end of it either there is alot more to add!

      • Bruce D.

That isn’t oppression for the left Angel. It is the hope that they can come out on top and get their fair share of the pie as the government has promised them. The top 50% of the wage earners pay 97% of the income tax. Not a bad deal for Karolyn. No wonder she is happy with what is going on. That is what Karolyn wants peope on this site to realize is that you could take a lot more from other people if you just wake up and understand what Obama is trying to do for you.

      • Karolyn

Bruce – I never said I was happy with what’s going on. I just choose to think more of the good rather than the bad that’s going on.

    • Vicki

      Beberoni writes:
“All I saying, is if you feel you are oppressed, there is someone you can go to, that will remove it and set you free. But thats up to you, not me.”

Funny that. And her name is Oprah. As noted in the point of the article we are commenting on. Feeling free and being free are not the same. The government takes by force ~40% of your hard earned wealth. And it is probably higher cause any tax on a corporation is passed directly to its customers. Not a bad take for your Masters. Add the facts that you have to show your papers to drive (complete with random checkpoints), fly and soon board a train and I fail to see the difference between US Circa 2010 and Germany Circa 1935.

No one is more enslaved than those who falsely think they are free.

      http://www.homelandstupidity.us/2005/10/11/why-youre-always-broke-40-of-your-money-goes-to-taxes/

      • Karolyn

You cannot tell me I’m not free! I can do whatever I want. Beberoni listed most of the freedoms we enjoy. Your concept of freedom is filled with qualifications. We are as free as we want to be. Big whoop, we have to pay taxes! That’s life!

      • Vicki

Karolyn demonstrates the accuracy of my assertion:
“You cannot tell me I’m not free! I can do whatever I want.”

As long as you don’t get caught :) Can you possess anything your heart desires and you can create with your own work or grow on your own land? If you like I can give you several examples where you can’t (If you get caught:) ).

Can you give your entire wealth to your children without dying?

Can you move your private property from one place to another without fear of arrest and persecution? Can you openly acknowledge your Creator in YOUR prefered way in the public square? I can go on for a bit but people don’t tend to read long posts.

Karolyn writes: “Beberoni listed most of the freedoms we enjoy.”
Further proof. Beberoni listed a number of things that together amount to less than 1% (way less) of the freedoms that the Creator gave us.

The list of the freedoms given to us by our creator is so long that it makes the IRS Tax code seem like a holiday gift card.

Our forefathers even knew this. That is why the 9th amendment. 10 enumerated rights (with some multiples in them) would not begin to cover all of the rights.

Karolyn: “Your concept of freedom is filled with qualifications. We are as free as we want to be. Big whoop, we have to pay taxes! That’s life!”

Thus demonstrating yet again that the slave that thinks he/she is free is the most enslaved.

      • Karolyn

Vicki – On one hand you talk about our God-given freedoms and then switch over to our lack of freedom. Which way is it? I’m free no matter what the government does. I would be free if I was put in a jail cell. No one can own my mind or control it. “Can you possess anything your heart desires and you can create with your own work or grow on your own land? If you like I can give you several examples where you can’t (If you get caught:) ).
        You said:
Can you give your entire wealth to your children without dying?

Can you move your private property from one place to another without fear of arrest and persecution? Can you openly acknowledge your Creator in YOUR prefered way in the public square?”

        My answer is YES

      • http://none Mike

Vicki, Unfortunately Karol there is in deep. And like most americans dosent even know it. We have been headed this way since the creation of the welfare state followed quickly by the goverment educated crowed. Dum them down and feed them crap and eventually like hamsters they will run around the wheel for you. These people just like your hamster are busy running around the wheel for their masters right now. Ever notice their circular arguments about what they belive is true. They must allways argue back to their origanal statement.Ateempting through repetitivivity to prove it true?Mike L.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        karolyn,
You say you can be free in your mind in a jail cell. Yes, you can, but would you want to live that way?? would you like to live in a 6×6 cage for the rest of your life?? Say just for something the government doesn’t like?? Do you want the government to poison you and your kids with poisons in the food “in your best interest”?

      • Karolyn

Just because I was in AA I have a record? What planet are you from?

      • Karolyn

Joe – I never said I believe in everything the government tries to do, especially when it comes to our food supply.

      • Kate8

Karolyn – You think the government’s intent to harm and control us is limited to food? And deathcare?

        Sigh.

      • Karolyn

Kate, The ontrol part I can buy, not the harm part.

      • Vicki

        Karolyn writes:
“Can you move your private property from one place to another without fear of arrest and persecution? Can you openly acknowledge your Creator in YOUR prefered way in the public square?”

        My answer is YES”

Then regrettably you would be in error.
You can not grow and use marijuana without fear of persecution. You can not take your guns and carry them from place to place without fear of persecution. You can not stand in the public square and just talk about Christianity or Islam. The first 2 examples have the full weight of specific law. The third example comes from the court cases that have required the removal of some religious symbols from the public square while allowing others to remain. And from Dearborn Michigan (that would be USA) we have this lovely tidbit
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUwQVqdOT0U

So tell me again why you think you have those freedoms when I have shown you (with cites) that you are not.

I can provide cites on the first 2 examples if you wish but I kinda presume they are common knowledge.

      • Vicki

        Karolyn writes:
“I would be free if I was put in a jail cell. No one can own my mind or control it. ”

Judging from many of your statements I am reasonably certain that your mind is controlled. Your Creator given freedom to travel would be severely limited if you were held against your will in a common size jail.

      • Vicki

        Mike writes:
“Vicki, Unfortunately Karol there is in deep. And like most americans dosent even know it.”

I know. I am only a little ahead of Karolyn in breaking free of the brainwashing myself. One of the things I really like about our debates here is that it helps me to spot the various chains so I can start chewing on them. (I have strong teeth ;) )

      • Vicki

        Karolyn writes:
“Vicki – On one hand you talk about our God-given freedoms and then switch over to our lack of freedom. Which way is it? ”

        Obviously the answer is yes.

Your Creator gave you a large number of freedoms and your fellow man is trying hard to take them away and has had much success. I have listed several in the past. Here is another

Offensive speech. No such thing. But make the people believe there is and then make it a crime to speak that way (Call it hate speech) and you have a grip on yet another freedom.

      • Vicki

In answer to a question I asked Karolyn
Vicki-”Can you give your entire wealth to your children without dying?”

Karolyn said Yes. She was of course mistaken. The government has a gift tax that would have to be paid. Presumably by the children but that means that less than her entire wealth would be in the control of the children. We are so brainwashed that most of us (including me) just accept that and think the gift got to the children in its entirety. By making us think that way they (the elites) control our anger that they would take our wealth, that we ALREADY paid taxes to get, away from our children.

Our children are brainwashed into accepting that our gift is somehow something the government just gets a piece of.

Notice I originally said without dying. That is because until Jan 1 2011 the estate tax is $0. On Jan 1st it goes UP (That is a tax increase for all you liberals) to either ~35% or ~55% depending on Obamas signature today.

So come Jan 1st our benevolent masters will take 35-55% of YOUR wealth for themselves when you die. You know that wealth you ALREADY PAID taxes on. Multiple times.

Now if your wealth is small enough they will show you their benevolence by letting you give it all to your heirs. Presuming you have a will. (State laws may also vary).

      • Karolyn

Vicki – That’s on estates of $5 million or more. And I think it depends on your state on how you can hand over your money to your kids. My mother put hers in 4 CDs. My two brothers and I each got one, and one was for the funeral. she only had about $50,000. My friend has created a living trust which gets around some things. If I had kids, and I had money, I would probably just give it to them in increments. They could put it under the mattress!

      • Vicki

Karolyn. Very good. You are learning how to “game the system” I wonder how your masters will feel when they find out. Oh wait you are doing exactly what your masters have said you can do. Good. You won’t get into trouble but your masters will still take what they want from you.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        arolyn,
you can do what ever you want? By your own words earlier I get it that you went to AA. do you have a misdemenor on your record? If so go out and buy a gun legally! In most states you can’t!!

      • Karolyn

Joe – The above was in response to your assertion about a misdemeanor.

      • Bruce D.

I would be interested in knowing what you can do without a government license, without a government regulation, or without government permission. You can’t even make changes to your house without asking government. It is not much different from renting. Government controls everything.

      • Kate8

Bruce D. – Actually, we are renting. Just see what happens if you fail to pay your taxes.

We have to “buy” our homes, and then pay “rent” to the government.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Baloney Vicki. I just drove to Maine and back two years ago, and I didnt have to show a paper to anyone. And I flew out west, and I didnt have to show papers to anyone. I dont know where you live, but it isnt the United States. I can go where ever I want here, when ever I want. If that isnt freedom, excuse me. And not one person, place, or thing is oppressing me and stopping me from doing it. If they are you, then something is wrong, and they need to stop doing it, because its illegal and wrong.

      • Vicki

        Beberoni writes:
“And I flew out west, and I didnt have to show papers to anyone. ”

Since you did not give a time frame for your second statement I must presume that it was recently in your timeline. In the main timeline for the United States of America (the timeline I happen to be in) you will not be able to fly anywhere without showing your papers (Government approved ID). In this timeline that situation has existed since at least 2002 and I think way before that. http://papersplease.org/gilmore/facts.html

Now if you have your own wings (attached or like a plane) you can indeed fly anywhere. Well mostly. Once you show on radar you had better chat with the nice folk at air traffic control lest they get upset and fine you for flying without papers. Oh and there are still lots of areas in the US that you are NOT allowed to fly over. Some more well known than others.

So it is all fine that you do not see nor feel your chains. Unless you really are from a different timeline. I don’t much feel mine either but I know they are there.

      • Bruce D.

Come on Beberoni, who can fly without showing papers. Also if driving you better follow every government rule and regulation very closely or you will be asked for papers. Even then there are stops sometimes to check everyone. The only ones not expected to show papers in this country are illegals. If you are walking on the beach at night you have to show your papers as that has become illegal.

      • Karolyn

Big effin’ deal. There has to be some control. We’ve had licensing, registration, etc. for a very long time. I do understand what you’re getting at; however, as long as I’m not breaking the law, I don’t mind showing anything to anybody whenever they want. Big deal. It takes 5 minutes of my time.

      • Kate8

Karolyn – You may not mind it, but it does show that we are no longer free.

We could once go wherever we chose, do whatever we chose (as long as we weren’t harming anyone) and have no fear of being accosted by law enforcement for any reason. Whatever happened to probable cause?

This is exactly why we’ve been conditioned to this slowly, incrementally, PROGRESSIVELY. So it doesn’t seem like a big deal.

To some of us, it’s a VERY BIG DEAL.

      • Karolyn

Kate – I don’t know where you live, but the only time I get stopped is if I’m speeding or some other infraction of the law.

    • Sam

Beberoni: perhaps a sheep like you is not oppressed, one whom, I believe, has a government job and likes the scales over your eyes, but yes, many of us ARE oppressed.

White males are not allowed to have access to higher education. White males are not allowed to have a “good” job. White males are not allowed to own a home. And now, White males are not allowed to marry.

Fantasy? This has been my reality. It took me 22 YEARS just to complete my bachelor’s. I finally had to go to a “for-profit” university, but at least I finally earned my BSIT. It took me way less time to earn my MBA.

I never could have a “good” job, I was forced to work temp. But, I saved my own money, and started my own business. I am one of those single proprietorships your “messiah” Obama considers “rich.”

I was never allowed to own my own home, no matter how much I earned. I was forced to buy through an elderly relative, who served as a “straw buyer.” When she passes away, I have to pay a 35% inheritance tax on my own home.

I met and fell for a lovely Ukrainian woman. Her daughter likes me as well, but more for my ragamuffin dog, whom she wants to adopt. However, the way is blocked by a government that will only allow illegal Hispanics.

I can hardly wait for the rebellion to begin.

      • Karolyn

I don’t know where you live, but I’d move. I certainly have not met anybody, male or female, black or white, who could not go to school if they wanted to. Pell Grants are available to everybody. “I never could have a “good” job, I was forced to work temp” WHAT? You sound like the cartoon character in Peanuts with the black cloud over his head. If so, that’s how YOU made your life! We ALL create our own lives!

      • Vicki

I don’t know where Karolyn lives but in the world I (we?) live in Pell grants are not for everybody. They have a LOT of requirements.
        http://www.thepellgrant.com/pell-grant-eligibility.shtml

      • Bruce D.

People on the left find ways to meet requirements. Lying is part of the greater good.

      • Vicki

The Islam Faith does allow Muslims to lie to the infidel.

      • Karolyn

Ah, Bruce. Anything to get in a dig on the left. Of course, whether one lies or not is not dependent on his political views. Are you perfect, Bruce? One would assume so from your holier-than- thou demeanor. You’re just perpetuating stereotypes (of your making) with slanderous statements.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I am a white male. I have a good job. Its solid, I dont get laid off, and I can help people. I work in an office for a contractor, and used my hands and back the first 10 years here to get where Ive gotten. I didnt go to college, raised poor. However, my nephew, white male, just graduated, will be going next for his masters, already has a job awaiting him at a University in Texas. Were in Indiana. I own a house, a nice ranch, with a 4.5 acre pond in the back yard. Small house, 1300 square feet. I sold my large 2 story and down sized for my older future, so that I and the wife werent climbing steps all the time. So where you get that white men cant have jobs, go to college and get degrees, or own a house, is an out and out lie. And you say my eyes are closed? Satan has the binders on you pal. I know, I recognize them when I see them. How is that? I wore them for 40 STINKING YEARS. Thats how I know. Jesus Christ removed them from me 12 years ago. I now see and hear, and thats why this evil government you all are so afraid of, doesnt fear me at all. They are just men, they can only do so much. They dont own me, they dont control me and they never will. Some say “what if the nazi’s come knocking on your door, what you gonna do?” Well, answer is, who knows, but Im not going to lose my freedom worrying about what might happen in 50 years, or 20 years, or even next year. I may not be here tomorrow. I dont decide of of this, God does, and I fully believe He will take care of me. You can worry your head off and fret about the government, and make fun of me, and say my heads in the sand or Im a sheeple, thats on you. Oh, and by the way, dont group me with Obama and liberals pal. Thats just plain hateful there. Im a Republican through and through, taking a serious look at the Libertarian Party. Anything but a democrat. Lets do get that straight.

      • dawn

i hate converts. jesus freaks that has to impart their relegion in every instance.

      • JC

Do us all a favor…take your “hatred” and work it off somewhere else.
Maybe goose stepping or something. Religious intolerance along with genuine racism are part of what has this country divided.

      • Kate8

dawn – I find your godless liberal drivvel and condescension every bit as offensive as you find Christian conversation, but I do not hate you.

However, you’ve come to this site knowing what bent it takes. You are the outsider here, so live with it or go somewhere more to your liking.

BTW, liberalism/progressivism is just as much a religion as any other. And you liberals endlessly try to force it on the rest of us.

    • Robin from Arcadia, IN

Beberoni… I agree with most of what you posted, however there is a thin line where you can find yourself in denial as opposed to reality. It’s difficult to keep that balance. I, too focus on the things that directly effect me and try to come out believing it was for a reason. God is in control and still on the throne, but He doesn’t expect us to sit on our hands either. Again, a balancing act. We have to stay alert to what our government is doing, but how we react to it determines whether we accept the consequences or rally for something better.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I fully understand what your saying, and you have presently it very gracefully. Thank you very much. I do what I can, by voting out the idiots when I can, and if someone comes along that has good ideals and ideas, then Ill do what I can to vote them in, and mobilized folks to do the same. Absolutely, I dont believe in sitting on my hands and insisting God does it all. Not at all Robin. He wants us be be involved. But Im not going to go on this paranoid “everyone is out to get me” things that I am reading from a lot of posts. I refuse to believe that every single person in government is rotten. Yes there are a lot of them. Yes, the fed is rotten, full of a bunch of foreigners controlling our money that should be rooted out. But I cant run around like chicken little with my head cut off panicking. I can do what I can do, and thats it. But the point of this post I first wrote, is that Im not oppressed. If someone is, I feel sorry for them, but as much as some would like us all to be oppressed, I assure you I am not. I am a free man. And if they come lock me up in a jail cell, I will still insist, Im a free man. Until one knows God, they cannot possible understand what Im saying.

      • http://?? Joe H.

but is that the way you want to live or your family to live?? IE your last sentence!

      • Bruce D.

Beberoni says: “I am a free man. And if they come lock me up in a jail cell, I will still insist, Im a free man.”
That just about says it all. You are a good Obama man. If you were Muslim and felt that way it would even be better.

      • Karolyn

Once again, Bruce, you demonstrate your lack of insight.

      • Kate8

Karolyn – This coming from someone who just stated a day or two ago that you would put a gun to your head if things got bad.

Which is it? Would you still feel free with a jackboot on your neck, or would you crumble?

      • Karolyn

Kate – I believe my response was “I’d probably put a gun to my head” and I was being somewhat facetious. Actually, I might run off somewhere into the woods and live like a hermit. lol I don’t know, Kate. All I know is that no one can take away the real freedom I have in my mind. People can get used to just about anything. Look at Anne Frank. I might kill myself if it was really bad, but not with a gun. It would be fine by me to be released from this body.

    • Jason

You can only vote for who they present to you. By the way, the time is coming when you will NOT be able to live where you want. The same propaganda that Hitler used is what this administration is doing. And yes, FEMA camps aka concentration camps have already been built and ready for use! Time to WAKEY WAKEY and stop believing television life and real life are the same

      • Karolyn

Another psychic. Wow, I never realized conservatives were all psychic.

      • JC

Karolyn, you`re ignorance of REAL events happening now and REAL History are astounding. The correspondence between Hitler`s Germany and the US of today is absolutely uncanny…”IF” you understand the subject matter.
Nothing psychic about it, it`s just too damned simple.

      • eddie47d

Do you want me to throw you a rope Jason and JC for it looks like you have fallen into the deep end.

      • Karolyn

There may be similarities as you refer to; however, we live in different times, so it’s not the same.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Karolyn,
What difference does the times we live in have to do with the evil of Nazi germany??? Pure evil is pure evil whether it is today or last century!!!

      • Kate8

Karolyn – Different times, my foot. History repeats over and over and over again. Humanity doesn’t learn from mistakes.

The PTB are using the exact same playbook they used in Hitler’s time. And the people are falling for it just the same as they did then.

The only difference as time goes by is the size and scope of the weapons and technology. There is nothing new under the sun. People are still the same.

eddie…I won’t be needing anything from you, or your type, now or ever. Never have.
You’re another one that I like to think is doing nothing to protect himself…”when” this socialist house of cards falls, you will be the one needing a rope. And I don’t think it will be there.

      • JC

        Karolyn says:
        December 16, 2010 at 4:47 pm
There may be similarities as you refer to; however, we live in different times, so it’s not the same.

How is it not the same? It’s Worse for God’s sake. The technology being used today is something Hitler couldn’t even dream of.
And it has almost complete control. How could it not be just as evil and just as bad? How?
I really don’t have a lot of time for the willfully ignorant.
But your answer tells me without a doubt…you don’t understand the subject matter.

      • Kate8

Well put, JC. You said it much better than I did.

    • Robert, Combat Seabee Vet. N.Y.

      Beberoni,
No your right. You are not oppressed, but you ARE STATUS QOU!!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I am anything but status quo. Status quot is those that go along with everything. I assure you sir, if you have taken the time to read my posts, you will see that I am quite the opposite of the status quo. The status quo seeks riches and prestige and power and place, and none of those mean anything to me. The status quo seek to go along with everything society projects to them, and goes with the flow. Again sir, that is the total opposite of me. While the status quo dwells on earthly things that you can see, I choose to dwell on the unseen, for the unseen is eternal, and what is seen is quickly vanishing. Understand?

      • Karolyn

YES! Too many people dwell on the physical plane to the detriment of their spiritual selves and then succumb to the paranoia perpetrated by rabble-rousers whose only purpose is to make waves and make money.

      • Kate8

The people making the really big bucks are the ones who are telling us everything is a-okay. Their success depends on keeping us ignorant until they are ready for us to erupt.

Life is all about spirit. Being physical isn’t separate from spirit. We are to learn from physicality, not ignore it.

      • Karolyn

We are spiritual beings having a physical experience, not the other way around. Take care of the spiritual, and the physical follows.

      • Bruce D.

If you were taking care of the spiritual Karolyn you would not be a leftest seeking entitlements from government. The big focus of the left is to get government to steal money and redistribute. If you lust and greed for other people money Karolyn just what does that manifest in the physical for you besides Pell Grants.

      • Karolyn

Bruce – I don’t “lust” after anything, let alone money. As a taxpaying citizen for my whole life, I see nothing wrong with partaking of benefits available to me. Benefits, I might add, that will help more than just me in the long run. (Referring to my ability to help more people when I have a degree.)

      • JC

A self justifying altruistic parasite…how nice and how very liberal.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Berberoni,
Reading your past posts I would think that, yes. But your posts have changed alot from a couple of months ago! It’s almost like you have been threatened or something!

      • Angel Wannabe

That’ll do it Joe, I believe I took a hit about a year ago. I have a blog and made no bones how I felt about the Socialist Obama Team. Within 6 months all of the following began to take place__ I began to have strange links pop on the site, like “Is the Government watching you?”__Strange phone calls and clicking sounds on my phone!__I’m DJ as a Hobby 8 hours a week. On two occasions, Two guys showed up asking weird questions, claiming they were the Fed, they showed no badges, no nothing.__ We have one chopper that flys daily over the field here. Suddenly there were waaaay too many buzzing the house top for about two months. At this same time, A woman was hired as bar manager, where I DJ on saturdays 11 years. She immediately didn’t like me for nothing, did everything in her power to get me fired, and managed it. I’ve since been re-hired, and when the boss talked to me about it, he said “it was almost like she had something personal against me from the get go!”__My taxes were even held up for 7 months!__Now you tell me?_-I told the old man I’m gonna not post on my site for a while and see what happens___I’ve had NO PROBLEM since! Now, was my Free Speech Attacked?__I’m not, nor ever have been the type to be paranoid about anything._-The only other thing I could say that was going on at the time, but it was later, that in a nearby town, they Arrested Jihad Jane. I wondered if the Feds were going after any and all dissidents.

      • Kate8

Joe H. – I’ve been thinking also, ‘what’s up with Beberoni’? You’d think he’s become a different person.

      • Al Sieber

Joe H., you got that right, thats not the same guy that posted before.

    • JC

Beberoni, would you have preferred Tom Cruise to come out and say,
“Everything is great, The Messiah is here and all is well”.
Personally, I like that people with notoriety are speaking up.
We need it broadcast from the streets and the podiums.

      • Bruce D.

I agree with you on that JC. If Beberoni is so free why does he have so much dislike for someone who thinks we aren’t. For the left money means freedom, that is unless you are so full of it like Beberoni that you would like us to believe sitting in jail thinking about the lord is still being free.

      • Karolyn

You just don’t get the concept of being really free in your mind. You are a slave to your mind.

      • JC

What a novel concept. To be “free in your mind”. Boy I’ll bet that would have been huge consolation to the Jews waiting outside the ovens and showers.

        Get a Grip!

      • Kate8

JC – While I do understand what Karolyn is saying, I don’t believe for one moment that she could pull it off. In order to be able to be peaceful in the face of great adversity, one has to be wholly aware of their oneness with God, completely surrendered to Him and to Divine Love, to where there is no perceived separation.

Few people in all of history have been able to accomplish this. While it is true that it is, in fact, what we are, and that if we understood this we could be free at this moment, it is the great paradox of life. Even when we know better, we are still held in bodage to a physical body, and are subject to a tyrannical taskmaster called the conscious mind. It is only through Grace that we can come to dissolve that illusion, and short of that, we’re all in the same boat. More or less.

      • Karolyn

JC – Maybe if you had a little less “grip” you’d understand. Are you afraid of death? Death is release from this plane into a higher consciousness. Have you never seen or read of people facing eminent death who are totally at peace? That is freedom. This world and everything in it are nothing but energy. You cannot kill energy.

      • JC

Ok, so you are advocating that we just meditate and think pure thoughts as our nation, rights and liberties are going up in smoke?
That we should see the possibility of being herded into death camps as a “release” to a higher plain?

        You’re very seriously disturbed Karolyn.

      • Kate8

Karolyn, When I was young, in my early 20s, I found myself in a car, plunging to my death over a cliff. In that moment, all I felt was PEACE. Nothing more. My last thought was, ‘Well, I guess this is it’. I had no emotion, just peace.

I have no memory of what transpired between that time and being back on the road, heading toward town. I started shaking so badly I had to stop for the night at a motel, as I couldn’t drive. All I know is that I experienced a real ‘impossibility’, a MIRACLE. An unseen hand, perhaps. Or a dimensional shift. I have no real clue. All I know is that Spirit is REAL.

Facing death doesn’t frighten me. But I still don’t want to be controlled. Freedom is everything.

    • Steve

Berberoni is correct but also leaves out the fact that things people do here on earth are also oppressive. Christ even gave us an example that it is OK to get upset (but not to anger quickly) when he chased the moneychangers from the temple for what the were doing in his fathers house. After all, the documents that our founding fathers gave us as a foundation to govern ourselves were put in place as inalienable rights given to us by our creator. Those rights are the ones being adulterated to become a form of oppression to those living in our country. Because of peoples turning away from God he is allowing more & more oppression to infiltrate our lives. He also promised us, if we turn from our evil ways he will heal our nation. Your here as your own free agent to decide your Heaven or hell fate. Is your belief in God just a preference or a devotion of true commitment. Just remember the story about Jesus asking the rich man if he would leave everything behind & follow him. You will figure out the answer.

      • Al Sieber

Steve, the Money Changers Jesus drove from the Temple are still with us, they just changed their name to the Federal Reserve. Jesus also said to sell your cloaks and buy a sword, that meant fight back against evil.

    • Al Sieber

Berberoni, yeah, you can still go to the corner store and buy a 12 pack and some cigarettes, go where you think you want with out being stopped for nothing, get felt up at the Airport, without it bothering you to keep you safe, I thought you knew about the Bill of Rights, and the Constitution, or at least read them, or part of them. the Founding Fathers secured our freedom for us, some were murdered, others imprisoned and lost everything so we could be free. what is freedom to you? please explain it to me. watch the mini series “John Adams”, you’ll see what they went through.

      • Bruce D.

Before you get those cigarettes and beer you have to pay a hefty fee in government taxes. Beberoni said he does not have to show identification to fly so he probably doesn’t get his junk played with by government either if he is telling the truth.

      • Bruce D.

I wonder when he flew last.

    • http://randall701jen@charter.net Working Man

I agree with you. I do not watch Tom Cruise or any other liberal
A-list movies. Unfortantly, there is a significant number of hard
working Americans like you and your father that somehow worship
and BELIEVE all the idoitic-nonsense that these celerbites say.
Why do hard-working American people listen to these liberals
is something that I will never know…or understand!

  • Patrick McGillis

    Robert,
It’s called hitting the nail on the head. I don’t watch Oprah, however did see the audience reaction from the news. Children, immature children.

    • http://randall701jen@charter.net Working Man

Oprah, the person, did not give those VW’s to these “well deserving”
people, just like the media hype was in 2004. IT WAS THE AUTOMOBILE
COMPANY GIVING THE CARS AWAY!!! They just had the big O give them
away. I fear for this country as pop culture in all phases is
dumbing down our nation, especially those from 12 years old to
      sheeple in their mid 30′s.

      • Robert Graham

The great sleeping giant has finally “OPENED HIS EYES”

    • JC

After seeing 100,000 people mindlessly chanting “Yes we can yes we can”…nothing surprises me from a Chicago audience anymore.
What is the welfare rate of that city I wonder..

    • Dogma-Free

Lost their minds…or lost their jobs?

Perhaps a free car – which will likely just be sold ASAP – was a possible way of making some house payments, and keeping their houses. Or maybe, it could be sold to free up money to help a struggling relative…

I suppose for a well-paid, far-right minion/mouthpiece, that thought might not ever enter into their propaganda-warped brains, but for the rest of us who live in *reality*, winning some free money (or a car) could make a lot of difference in not only our own lives, but also to help others in our own families…or a neighbor.

And lest we forget, it was your monkey, George Dubya Bush, who set the controls of the country to soar directly into the heart of the crapper…before running off with his tail between Cheney and Rove’s legs…and then handing the controls over to our Muslim hero, Obama.

Merry X-Mas, everyone…and may Allah bless us all! ;-p

      • Jim W.

I find it very interesting that the majority of left wing democrats have absolutely no idea that their own party are responsible for the economic mess the country is in. Either that or you are a bigger lair than I want to say in this media. The beginnings of this mess can actually be traced directly to LBJ, but if you wish for a closer culprit look to Pres. Carter and then to Pres. Clinton in his first term while the democrats controlled congress just like Mr. Obama with Democrat control of both houses of congress. You democrats like to say that the Republicans want to destroy Social Security, but Democrat LBJ with the aid of democrats in congress took ALL the money out of the trust fund to fund his war on poverty and Vietnam while replacing the money with ZERO Treasury bonds that don’t pay interest there by ensuring that Social Security fails. Currently the failure of the Real Estate and Mortgage market can be traced directly to Pres. Carter and the Democrats attempt to force increased minority home ownership whether they could afford it or not. The effort was accelerated under Pres. Clinton and when Pres. Bush tried to warn us that the system was unsustainable the Democrat congress and the Main Stream Media laughed at him and said his was against poor people owning their own homes. Then, just before the end of his second term the market collapsed just like he warned us. The Democrats are the cause of our current economic problems and we will not recover until we get them out of power. Before you shoot your mouth off do some research.

      • Bonnie

It is so sad to read this Repub/Democrat B.S. ad nausium! When are you both going to grow up and realize that there is a ‘shadow government’ and it is neither Republican nor Democrat. The new world order cares not for those labels. Labels are used to manipulate people like you. In falling for it, you are aiding and abetting the goal of this ‘shadow government.’ Sure, there are differences between Republican presidents and Democratic ones, we all know that the Republicans that receive the ‘nod of approval’ tend to be conservative, as in neo-con, and Democrats that receive the same ‘nod’ are liberal. So what! Concentrate on those that are well behind the curtain, pulling the strings of governments around the world, those that the main stream media dare not mention. Those few elites are the ones with blood on their greedy hands. Your ranting and arguing are entertaining, but nothing more!

      • JC

Absolutely right. The Left / Right allegiances are working perfectly to distract from the real issues.

      • Angie

        Reply to Dogma Free:

My sentiments exactly. I sure would like a new car but would probably be forced to sell it to pay some bills too.

      • Bruce D.

Of course Doga-Free, free money is what life is all about from a leftest ideology. Even have to put it in your name.

      • Robert Graham

Of coarse we can get the money from OBAMAS STASH!

      • Michael J.

        Dogma-Free,
Perhaps the atmosphere of despair you decribe where prize winners liquidate free gifts to make house payments to keep their homes or maybe help struggling relatives left you yourself feeling a bit vulnerable to those that would ask, why are these people experiencing such economic depression? That’s when your conscience prompted you to engage the leftist default mantra of “Bush did it”

Reality is, the almost every day calamities that besiege our nation’s economy are the result of decades of pre-planning hashed out in Progressive Marxist think tanks. Once approved for implementation, the plans are presented to the awaiting dignitaries, media moguls, central bank chairman’s, corporate elite and academic scholars attending subsequent Bilderberg meetings in the form of marching orders.

For example, in this case the engineered economic colapse damaged the republican party the most so only the naive would suspect that it was designed by them.

As far as free Beetles goes, the only thing free about it was the free advertizing enjoyed by the car manufacturer. Advertizing on this scale costs millions, yet in this circumstance the car give away was a tax write-off for the manufacturer while they received vast media exposure at no cost. Oprah received the glory and the American taxpayer got the bill in the form of lost revenue to the Treasury Department. In the Socialist society we now see forming, what one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

      • Bonnie

      • patriotpartisan

        Dogma-Free,
Once again, the blame game with a hint of spite, has been played…
it neither is the solution nor is it progressive.

If nothing better, then may someone suggest to quit while you’re behind. W and O are proving to be two sides to the same coin; a coin in Soros pocket… as the tax payers have NO “change”.

Without solution in hand, to bitterly slap down those who express their dissent openly, seems petty and pointless. Perhaps you can suggest a way out of this storm, rather then to add more wind?

      • J. Hyatt

The only consolation here is that the patriot to moron ratio is a good 5 to 1. How does it feel to be a statistic?
You clearly demonstrated the mans point. It’s not our fault that you don’t have what it takes to generate a decent paycheck.
Bitter and stupid is no way to go through life, but that’s clearly your choice. What do you know about charity except how to except it?

      • Dawn

Ah, the classic playbook invocation of the despised name of Bush, plus the de rigueur “far-right” title of damnation. So tired, so cliche.
