The Tea Party May Save Us Yet

November 17, 2010 by

The Tea Party May Save Us Yet

There has been a huge sigh of relief in the corridors of Calgary’s oil towers following the Republican victory in the mid-term election. The GOP win assures much-needed changes in the Federal government’s energy policy; changes that will benefit American consumers as well as Canadian petroleum producers.

It seems certain that climate change legislation in the United States is dead for at least the next two years, and hopefully forever. That is good news for Alberta’s oil sands industry, which has been facing an uphill battle against Greens inside the old Democrat-controlled Congress.

"I think the playing field for Canadian energy will be a lot more level now,” said Republican David Wilkins, the Bush administration’s last ambassador to Ottawa.

Former Canadian diplomat Colin Robertson agrees and says that while special interest groups will still keep up their lobbying efforts against oil sands, climate change legislation is DOA. That closes the casket on what could have become a border levy on Alberta’s oil sands.

A Fresh Look For Oil Sands
While Canadians may hate guns and embrace universal healthcare, many are happy about the Tea Party’s influence. This is true of Canadian petroleum executives who understood the threat of ousted Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). They realize that the 112th Congress will have a far more balanced approach to petroleum. Incited by President Barack Obama, Democrats had been making “clean energy” their mantra.

Finally, some sanity is restored. There is a growing realization that wind and solar power are incredibly expensive and are without significant infrastructure, and an understanding that neither will make a noticable dent in America’s energy appetite before the end of this decade.

This truth didn’t seem to faze House Democrats who wanted a national renewable-electricity standard. They were blissfully ignorant of a fundamental truth — that Green energy is more pie in the sky than it is juice on the grid.

Democrats also misunderstood America’s growing dependence on Arab oil. Consider the Obama drilling moratorium in the Gulf of Mexico following the Deepwater Horizon disaster. Neither he nor House Democrats seem to comprehend that oil from the Gulf of Mexico was helping the U.S. reduce oil imports. And while the largely untested Bakken formation of the Dakotas and Montana is promising, it was Gulf Coast production that was making the difference.

Stopping The Greens Before It’s Too Late
A more conservative Congress can take immediate steps to re-establish offshore oil drilling and open up oil exploration in Alaska. This cannot happen too soon, as America faces an immense energy crisis — one that the Obama administration has recklessly ignored.

The GOP gets it, especially the conservative wing of the Party, which understands that fossil fuels are and will remain essential to America’s national security. Oil will account for more than 90 percent of U.S. transportation energy and more than two-thirds of U.S. electricity through the end of this decade. The newly elected conservatives promise to be an enormous improvement over the previous Congress, which was focused on strengthening the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007; an act which Obama reinforced last year with stimulus money.

What most Americans don’t realize is what folly taxpayer’s money was being spent on. There is a hidden clause in the Energy Independence and Security Act which was signed into law in 2007. It is found within Section 526.

According to that section, all Federal agencies — with the exception of NASA — are prohibited from purchasing carbon-intensive unconventional fuels:

“No Federal agency shall enter into a contract for procurement of an alternative or synthetic fuel, including a fuel produced from non-conventional petroleum sources, for any mobility-related use, other than for research or testing, unless the contract specifies that the life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions associated with the production and combustion of the fuel supplied under the contract must, on an ongoing basis, be less than or equal to such emissions from the equivalent conventional fuel produced from conventional petroleum sources.”

The U.S. military could not get its fuel from Alberta’s oil sands and instead had to rely on oil from nations like Saudi Arabia and Venezuela, two countries renowned for their grassroots hatred of the U.S.

Last month, Energy & Capital pointed out what an obstacle this is, because America’s military is the world’s single largest purchaser of crude oil. Most anyone outside the Democratic Party will take Alberta over Arabia.

That is because most people have some common sense. They understand that having a strategic supply of oil next door in a democratic nation that shares a common language and core values is a good thing. But “most people” does not include Pelosi or Obama.

An Early Thanksgiving
Thank Heaven for the GOP’s victory. Without it, Obama would have been free to sign a climate bill that would have targeted Canada’s oil sands industry. Instead, Obama has been forced to admit that his hopes to put a price on the cost of carbon dioxide emissions — which he and the Greens blame for global warming — will be put on hold for at least the next two years. If you drive a car or heat your home you have to say: Hallelujah and pass the petroleum!

As you know, most Republicans campaigned against a so-called Cap-and-Trade bill that would have put a ceiling on U.S. climate pollution. We have a President that made “Going Green” a priority right after socialized medicine. Obama’s Cap-and-Trade bill was in fact passed by the House, but stalled in the Senate because it was rightfully branded harmful to the U.S. economy by conservatives and others who were not corrupt or feebleminded.

Energy Injustice Derailed
Obama has not given up on saving the environment. The President said he will push for more piecemeal incentives for developing alternative energies that could help the U.S. reduce its “carbon footprint.”

The Greens may get their way if Obama continues forward with his economic policies. A recession turned depression would certainly reduce America’s carbon footprint. It might even make the most radical of the Greens happy.

If you think I exaggerate, consider KAIROS, a coalition of half a dozen large liberal church groups in Canada that includes the United Church, some Catholics, Mennonites and Quakers. They have a staff of more than 20 and an annual budget that exceeds $4 million. Their largest project is called Energy Justice.

According to their Web site: “KAIROS is in the midst of Re-Energize: Time For A Carbon Sabbath, a three-year campaign for personal, community, and political change.”

You might think that Canadian Christian groups might be worried about the lack of democracy or even women’s rights in big Arab oil-exporting countries, some of which are known to finance terror groups like al-Qaida. Instead KAIROS, which unbelievably gets $1.5 million per year from the Canadian Federal government, has set its sights on something it considers far more evil: Alberta’s oil sands.

What is most frightening is that environmental groups like KAIROS have plenty of allies, including Obama, Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.).

Liberty For All
And while many Canadians decry American conservative policies, Canada, too, is reaping the rewards of the conservative revolution spreading within the U.S. Canada is like American liberals who oppose handguns yet sleep better at night knowing that criminals are wary of breaking into their homes because at least a few of the neighbors are packing pistols.

Both Canada and the U.S. need Alberta’s oil sands. Canada has roughly 180 billion barrels of proven oil reserves, second only to Saudi Arabia. More than 95 percent of these reserves are oil sands deposits in Alberta. In the past decade, Canada’s oil production has steadily risen as new oil sands have come on-stream to replace aging, mature fields. This has been fortuitous to the United States, whose own aging fields have been in drastic decline. That the previous Congress thwarted this marriage of necessity borders on treason.

Next week I will be giving thanks with my family that there is new hope with the new Congress; hope sparked by the conservative ideals of the Tea Party, which are arresting the energy idiocy that is Obama and his Democrats.

Yours for real wealth and good health,

    should read:
First…the same proportion of Canadians as Americans “hate guns”.

    • Teresa

But the majority believes in being able to bear our guns ….this is our right that we will not give up!

      • DaveH

I have never been to Canada. I refuse to travel into a country that has no respect for my right to defend myself.

      • Eric Bischoff

That explains a lot about you.

      • DaveH

You’re such a child, Eric. Following me around, personally attacking me. Is that all you’ve got, Liberal?

      • DaveH

Wah! There is no explaining you.

      • eddie47d

Because you follow the liberals around and attack them. Little difference.

      • Eric Bischoff

That’s right I got tired of your crap and thought I’d give you some of your own medicine. How do you like it?’

      • DaveH

All anybody need do is look up the various comments to see whose are mostly personal attacks and whose are mostly supported facts.
And these, folks, are the people who want to make your choices. Good luck with that.

      • JC

Dave, it’s illegal to carry a loaded firearm on your person here unless you are actually hunting or happen to be a Policeman. It’s tricky but you can defend your home from an intruder with a firearm ptovided you can prove (and you will have to) that the circumstances warranted such force. It’s also legal to have a (registered) firearm, a rifle or a shotgun in your vehicle provided it’s not loaded and the ammunition is in a seperate part of the vehicle. (grey area there)
The majority of Canadians I know have no qualms with firearms ownership and that same majority own guns…but then I’m a Libertarian so that will tell you who I associate with.
I’m based out of both Calgary and Phoenix and very much enjoy both places. They’re “western” and people generally don’t like having their lives interfered with. Rather they enjoy independence and free enterprise. You should see the Rockies in Alberta some time…breathtaking.

      • DaveH

I’ll bet. I love the mountains. I live in the mountains. Far away from most of the pushy Liberals.

      • http://none Mike

Would love to see it. I live in the foothills of the smokies and also have a good view of the Blueridge from the vally where I live:)

      • Karolyn

Golly! I love the mountains too! And I know many liberals who love the mountains!

  • JC

    John Myers,
I enjoy dual citizenship and I am presently working as a consultant to several oil companies in the city of Calgary.
First…the proportion of Canadians as Americans “hate guns”. The rest own guns.
It’s actually pretty easy to be a gun owner in Canada and 7 of 33 million Canadians are licensed gun owners, which doesn`t account for an unknown number who refuse to register their guns. You can actually buy assault rifles here that are illegal in the US.

Second: The mood of the oil companies here is towards more responsible stewardship as the Canadian government will hit them with huge fines for environmentl irresponsibility. And I mean huge.
One fellow here, an executive I met had an interesting theory on why<
the oil sands has been singled out for special treatment.

It`s too easy to get the oil out of the ground here.
There are no barriers like terrorists lurking about that require huge military deployments to protect the rigs and equipment.
No need to install friendly governments to protect our interests…over there.

No Halliburton, no Boeing to give kickbacks to Congressman and Senators…just normal business being done at an economically viable rate.

Cheap oil and honest business…God Forbid!

This is not to say that I speak in complete defense of these Oil Co.s
but they are making the effort to clean up their act here.

So why aren`t the watermelons going after Kyrghistan and Nigeria where they are leaving hell on earth behind their oil operationsÉ
    Oh yeah…they`d be shot.

    • Remy

JC, I also have dual – U.S. & Canadian citizenship. It’s great honor in having both. Since you live in Canada do you have a different perspective about America? I certainly do since being here almost 10 years. America a great country, but so is Canada. I find a more worldly view on issues here as opposed to everything being USA!, USA!, USA!, USA! There is nothing wrong with loving your country, but there are 6.5 billion other people in the world as well.

      • JC

My perspective of America comes from growing up on US Navy bases and believeing that we were the “good guys”. That changed somewhere along the way. I still believe that Americans are the warmest most generous people on the planet with a respectful hat tip to the North, but that we’ve lost our sense of morality and values to gadgets and TV.
Doesn’t matter which side of the border I’m standing on people seem to be unaware that they are losing their rights a little more each day.
So, I’m a little angry that we apparently aren’t as enlightened as we like to think we are. But at the same time I see an awakening coming and I am still hopeful, still working to educate others every day.
        Hope you are too. :)

    • eddie47d

Good points JC. Although we do expose oil companies in Nigeria like Shell/Cheveron and Conoco they do not listen. Both the oil companies and the Nigerian government are tone deaf. Right now that government is trying to hold off a civil war and it is a dangerous place in more ways than one.

  • eddie47d

I didn’t care for Meyers quote that “moving away from clean energy is sanity” Just the opposite is true. Then he goes on to slam the Energy Independence and Security Act. I think most people would want that so why attack the whole message if energy independence is what we need. Although drilling can be very safe it can also be very destructive. If there is a major spill in the Arctic bad weather and getting clean up equipment (boats) up there would be tricky in this harsher climate. Also the oil won’t disperse like in the Gulf. Our oil dependency is an excellent reason to bring our world wide troop deployment home with the rising costs. (world’s largest purchaser of crude oil). Canada is a beautiful country and they love their environment. Yet the article went after the KAIROS group of religious folks who are trying to keep Canada beautiful so that cheap shot of bringing al Qaeda into their concerns was slanted and uncalled for. Our voracious appetite for their oil is no reason to take so much from their beloved country.

Knowledge and information often hits a nerve with this crowd and it also brings either silence like it was never there or moronic replies and insults.

    • Teresa

Eric, some of us…unlike others (and please watch what you say for you come across hard on others yourself) really are here for an actual discussion…we are not here to name call…not here to down the other person, I respect ea. persons opinion. We are of course not going to agree on everything but everyone does have an opinion. One thing in life is for sure….you can’t please everyone! But you can be open minded and debate w/equal sides.
I stand firm in my beliefs and principles because I fear God and I want my country to prevail in God’s name and want Our Constitution to be followed not trampled on. I want less government control for they seem to have forgotten they work for US. I want my child to feel safe again when going to school and taught AMERICAN history….I want a lot of things but most of all its what I know….I know what has happen to get America to this point and what America needs to do from here on out…I know what our fathers and brothers and sisters fought for…for US to be the greatest nation in the world and for me and you and all the others on here to be able to debate at all should be something that you nor any of us should be whinning about…how petty is that! Thank a soldier next time you want to trash others for your freedom of speech!

      • Eric Bischoff

I wonder how you’d react if every one around you called you a marxist, communist, idiot, screwed up in the head, and all of the lovely attributes they have been dreaming up? This site is not exactly open mined and open to discussions with people who don’t think exactly like they do. It is short on compassion and long on insults. It has a lot of America love it or leave it. Because God knows we are the best and we are perfect and we don’t need to change a thing.

    • DaveH

Spoken like the Arrogant, Conscending Liberal that you are, Eric. But you know, that is good, as it gives other folks the chance to see how little the self-proclaimed “intellectual” Liberals have to offer.

      • Eric Bischoff

DaveH arrogant and condescending, you obviously are speaking about yourself. I spend a lot of time trying to find something worthwhile from your posts but you are predictably mean, rude and angry. I don’t find that you provide much, if any information, you spend your time making fun of others who have a different point of view. It’s a lovely trait.

Eric, at best you are a “looney tune” and a hack!

Oh, I’m so hurt. Keep posting, Eric. I love your exposure.

  • Dr. Mabuse

Interesting take on the Energy problem Bitter, and I agree with you when you say … “anyone who does I doubt will have a popular answer or an answer with Freedom & Liberty in mind.” This brings to mind one word: Eugenics, an enigma wrapped in mystery with a can of worms thrown in for good measure. Population control is being actively managed by the “Shadow” government. AIDS, spread by the W.H.O. has ravaged Africa, Asia and some of the Eastern bloc countries. Covert sterilization via hormones and flouridation in the food and water supply. Wars and small conflicts financed by Globalist bankers. The fear is that they must step up their timetable of human destruction to meet their goals.

You’re right when you say: “People need to be conscience & responsible and lets face it…not many are going to care about being responsible or thoughtful..”
    This is a sad truth.

    • Bitter Libertarian

I shift my focus towars the population because its not so much what we do, just that SO MANY are doing it is what creates the enviromental problem.

I do not agree with Govt Population control.

However when a Girl can get pregnant and KNOW that if the father does not help take care of her & her child that she can apply for welfare and have the state (me & You) take care of her that is one part of the problem. One hundred and 50 years ago, getting Pregnant was a HUGE planned event and a HUGE big deal for the most part.
Now its an event that you can solve by Legalized Plunder, abortion, or grandparents. All of which are the persons choice, however, each has consequences multiplied by the sheer volume of events.

      • Kate8

Bitter, Don’t you see that this was all PLANNED? By destroying a nation’s moral structure, destroying the tradition of the family and faith, removing God from people’s minds and hearts, forcing them to embrace all manner of deviance and depravity, blurring the sense of right and wrong…turning the whole culture upside-down…

This is why we have rampant birth out of wedlock. And then dehumanize us even more by causing us to accept murdering our own children, sick, disabled and elderly…

We were guided down this road, sytematically and purposefully. And what a grand success it’s been for the evil few who benefit.

There is only one answer, but few understand what it is.

      • http://none Mike

Amen Bitter, We need to go back to some values based education here in the U.S then maby we can stop some of the rampent out of wedlock births out there. Its not going to be easy though just look at popular music and television/movie entertainment and you will see what I mean. Answers are outthere but we need to grow up as a race and start makeing thoes hard decisions about how we want to raise our kids. 70+ years ago my family was a very large one. My grandfather and grand mother were married almost 60 years and had 14 kids. This was mostly because they were farmers and more kids = more help on the farm. Now 14 kids with maby that many diffrent fathers is a welfare bonanza for the mother and maby even some of the extended family.Mike L.

      • eddie47d

My wife’s grandmother had 13 children on mothers side and her grandmother on fathers side had 19 kids. I could never keep them all straight.

      • http://none Mike

Yea Eddie the family re-unions were intersting to say the least right. :) Too bad most of these pre ww2 large families died out before they were able to pass on their wisdoms to say the 4th generation out. Our history suffers for it today.Sad but the old ways of comman sence debate that took place mostly on the front porch or at the barn raisings has died out in the electronic age. Now we resort to lables and disparagements for thoes we dont agree with. Insted of respect and civil dissagreements. Mike L.

      • Angel Wannabe

Mike__ sadly your right on__I was blessed with Dad who was one of 8__and when his Dad died, his Mother re-married a man with 7 children as well. By that time my Mother & Dad were living with them, because the house they were building wasn’t finished yet. There were a lot of Bible studies, Truck Patches were everyone benefited from, Family Reunions, 4th of July and Easter Eggs hunts for the kids!!__All in all at last count 165 of us!___Its been a wonderful experience!!!A lot of people won’t know that kind of life__and it’s sad.

      • http://none Mike

Angel, We came from a background of large family farms here in Tennesse. My grandfather lost his farm to T.V.A in the early 40′s when a dam project backfilled a lake over his properties. He then went to work for them around 50′s. But untill the day he died he maintaind a victory garden (and I think a little shine on the side). It never faild though that every year he was alive we met on the holidays and had dinners and discussions around a big fireplace in the livingroom. So yes I was blessed with being raised in a family that shared and cared yearround not just on holidays. My father passed away at 72 he was the last of that family to go. So call me old fashioned if you want but I am dam proud of my heritage. Mike L.

      • Angel Wannabe

        I’m Hearin ya Mike__God Bless!

  • Bitter Libertarian

The problem the “passionate” Green people fail to fully understand is that in order to support the Worlds current & growing population with energy AND FOOD requires a subsitute that can equal current needs AND handel the population growth. Unless they plan on some how increasing organic farming to match current non organic methods these problems will not be solved. Windmills, solar panels are a warm & fuzzy feel good sales pitch but the CORE of the Problem lies in the Population.

I for one DO NOT Clain to have the answer, and anyone who does I doubt will have a popular answer or an answer with Freedom & Liberty in mind. So my best guess is the answer lies somewhere in a shift in the population itself. People need to be conscience & responsible and lets face it…not many are going to care about being responsible or thoughtful..

    • Eric Bischoff

Well at least not until they are forced into it and I don’t mean by government, I mean by the realities of the planet.

I notice which individuals tell me to get off the planet but fail to lead by example.

Bitter, Actually, it’s the non-organic methods that are causing reduction in food production, especially the GMOs.

Don’t you think nature has our eco-system, including sufficient food, worked out? It is man’s interference for purposes of profit and control that is the problem. If we worked WITH nature, they way she intended, we’d have all we need.

Our food supples, famines, farm production limits, all of it – controlled. Manipulated. We are herded like farm animals. Told what to think, believe, eat, wear, drive, and how much.

The sooner we all wake up to this, the sooner we can free ourselves. EVERYTHING IS A LIE.

When you live in a country with 350,000 million people you can’t survive doing your own individual thing. No matter how self sufficient you think you are we still depend on someone else. It’s near impossible to find a place where you can completely get off the grid. That’s the reality.

      • http://none Mike

Well said Eddie. We may not agree alot on our politics but I think our minds work a little alike on some subjects. We need to develope our own resources here though as a stop gap mesure untill such a time when we can get these new sources online and running. I think alot of these sources are probly not more than 20 years out from being viable(hydrogen and possably fusion)But we need to maintain and improve upon current resources so as not to totally collaps the grid before such a time. I like My grocery stors here in the south we have factory farm products intermingeled with organic ones. Organic is a little more expensive but the fruits and nuts taste a little better freash and locally grown. Mike L.

What did people do before the great industrial age eddie, They used wood, or they chipped off the coal as they needed it and used it. Ireland I believe they still use Peat to heat they’re homes with.
The high costs come from, mining it, to build mills, equipment, storage, transporation, on top of that, theres the unions, EPA, and government regulation. There is nothing today or even in the near furture you going to find that takes the place of fossil fuels. Nothing says you can’t experimentm but you don’t phase out fossil fuel, UNTIL YOU FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO REPLACE IT__ AND THERE ISN’T ANYTHING!

      • Vicki

God would like that. God would not like YOU forcing me to do it. Beg, plead, persuade, but not FORCE.

“Thou shalt have NO other gods before me” I believe is the operating phrase.

I dont know if its actually the Tea Party, thats just a label attached to a local version of what is probably a world wide movement toward Western styles of personal freedom, equal justice under the law, the chance mind you, to excel in your choosen passion in a free society.

People that understand America has borders, has a language, has a culture, and a flag.–thanksMS

If thats just some of what Tea Party equates to, im all in.

I Think this is the right thing to do for American energy, open up the Alberta oil sands and forget Saudi Arabia oil, while Canada is so close to America and we have so9 much oil here mand in Canada lets get itfrom this continent and create plenty of jobs to get the oil we can just built oil pipe lines from Canada to America without going through our oceans.

you racist people are out to distroy america and it aint going to happen, because the true americans whom i served in the military with will come to the rescue of this great country.

    • Dr. Mabuse

      WTF?

  • Dr. Mabuse

The only people that can “save” us are ourselves.
The idea that the Teabaggers may save us in regards to realizing a comprehensive energy policy is over reaching at best.
    The Teabaggers:

    1. The Tea Party movement is a populist,conservative/libertarian, political movement in the United States that grew throughout 2009 into a series of locally and nationally coordinated protests.

    2. As of 2010, it is not a national political party, does not officially run Congressional candidates, and its name has not appeared on any ballots.

    3. The movement’s primary concerns include, but are not limited to, cutting back the size of government, lowering taxes, reducing wasteful spending, reducing the national debt and federal budget deficit, and adherence to an originalist interpretation of the United States Constitution.

Eric Bischoff’s post was directly on point in exposing the sophistry of Myer’s article. Well done, E. The Koch bros. have strategically kept a relatively low profile, while formenting policies in the background.

If they (the teabaggers) were sincere about (not just lower echelon minions of the oil industry) as John Myers would certainly reduce them to) they might look to the Germans and their solar energy policies as a model worthy of emulation.

    1. The “Feed-in Law” in Germany permits customers to receive preferential tariffs for solar generated electricity depending on the nature and size of the installation.

Under the new tariff structure introduced in 2004, the base level of compensation for ground-mounted systems can be up to 45.7 euro cents/kWh. PV installations on buildings receive higher rates of up to 57.4 euro cents/kWh.

The Feed-in Law requires that the tariff paid for solar electricity be reduced by 5% per year, and by 6.5% per annum for ground-mounted systems.

The Feed-in Law fixes tariffs for approved renewable energy projects for a 20-year period from the plant commissioning and will apply incremental price cuts. Tariffs were initially set at 48.1 cents per kilowatt hour for solar energy, 8.6 cents per kWh for wind, from 9.6 to 8.2 cents per kWh for biomass, 8.4 to 6.7 cents per kWh for geothermal and 7.2 to 6.3 cents per kWh for hydropower, waste and sewage gas.

    2. Some 20,000 solar electricity systems yielding an output of about 145 Megawatts (MW) were installed in 2003, almost twice the volume installed in the previous year. With these additions, the total solar electricity capacity in Germany is now estimated at over 400 Megawatts.

Germany saw slow growth in 2006, but still remains by far the largest PV market in the world. 968 Megawatts of PV were installed in Germany in 2006.

The German solar market generated total revenues of over 800 million euros in 2003. The German PV industry generates over 10,000 jobs in production, distribution and installation.
Over 90% of solar PV installations are in grid-tied applications in Germany. The balance is off-grid (or stand alone) systems.

    3. The German Government provided, through the KfW Bank, loans totaling 1.7 billion euros for the procurement of PV systems under the 100,000 Roofs Program, which terminated at the end of 2003.
Loans are still available, but under slightly less advantageous conditions.

The world’s largest PV installation is in Germany, at Hemau in Bavaria. It consists of 32,740 solar modules with a combined peak power output of 4 Megawatts.

Some German states have subsidy programs for PV installations that can be used in combination with the national Feed-in Law.

I know that #3 will have some individuals hollering “socialism” and
“Marxism”. My response would be don’t throw the baby out with the bath
    water.

Listen real close people, we’re 30 years overdue in getting a comprehensive energy policy and system in place. Bucky Fuller in his seminal work, “Critical Path” outlined the steps in the accomplishment of such a policy. It might serve us well to re visit his ideas on this matter.

    • Eric Bischoff

Very well said Dr Mabuse. It’s nice to get a few intelligent facts interspersed amongst insults and idiotic not well thought out comments. It feels like our american society is stuck in a stupid teenager phase.

    • Teresa

I will agree w/your article sir to a point…it does make logic to the sense on one point…but the flaw is the gov. will not allow this to happen w/o them having control, this is where the conflict is. We the people of course would see this as an asset as to save money where the gov. would use this as a way of controlling and more gov. money. And yes the change has to be made w/the individual as you stated.
And yes I agree w/you that the Tea Party is an organization of We the People standing up for the Constitutional rights..not a “political” party so to speak.

    • Chow

Your post is too long, if I want to read an essay I’ll find something more interesting. Keep you comment concise.

      • Dr. Mabuse

Perhaps if you had a attention span longer than a gnat’s, you might be able to get through the post.

      • JC

Re: your point about the Loch Bros…for ever action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Soros One World Control using ecocommies as a weapon Vs. The Koch Boys…both are wrong and self serving.
On another note I’m curious about your fascination with “Tea Bagging” which I am lead to believe is a very different action than a grass roots American political movement….how’s the research going? ;)

      • Dr. Mabuse

Point taken on Newton’s 1st law of motion.
I have no “fascination” as you put it with tea bagging nor the tossing of salad. If I want to disparage something or someone 9 times out of 10, I’ll be quite blunt about it. If you’ll note in my description of the “grass roots” movement I made an factual representation of what the movement is.

      • Allan Halbert

Dr Mabuse- LP’s have certainly shown a clever understanding of what the Tea Party is. Apparently John Stewart is the only LP who realizes what the cost is going to be for disparaging the Tea Party.

      • DaveH

Sorry, Dr. Mabuse, I was wrong about you. I thought you were a freedom lover. Obviously you aren’t.
If your energy schemes are viable, they don’t need the force of Government to succeed. People would accept them voluntarily in the Free Markets.
In Free Markets, you Liberals could get together, pool your monies, and start your own companies to save the world. Put your own money where your mouths are. If your ideas were valid, they would exceed handsomely in the Marketplace. But you know they’re not. That’s why you seek the force of Government to implement them.

      • DaveH

        That is “succeed handsomely”.

      • Dr. Mabuse

Will you take the stick out?
Are you that damn myopic that you can’t see beyond your own nose?
In point of fact, I’m a retributionist with a strong penchant for natural law. I used the German’s solar program as a model, not the end all, be all. Your puerile clinging to this my way or the highway political/social view is beyond sickening. I love freedom just as much, if not more than the next man. I’ve had my freedom usurped by “individuals” who think just like you do. Not a day went by when I didn’t want to show them the exact same consideration that they showed me. Perhaps in your perfect world, I’ll be given the opportunity.

      • DaveH

        If I have a stick, it’s yours.
The German model is Force. It is you who thinks your world view is perfect or you would embrace the voluntary transactions of Free Markets, rather than the Force of Government. Yes, subsidies are Force, not unlike somebody taking your cash money, only more subtly.
So take that stick back and stuff it up your own.

      • Vicki

My way or the Highway appears to be liberal plan. DaveH and others here are quite happy to have the power companies pay us to generate electricity. We do not want the government butting in and telling the power companies what they HAVE to pay us.

      • Dr. Mabuse

        Listen Dave,
If you believe that there’s such a thing as a “free market”
Free from manipulation from so called capitalists, i.e. bankers, cartels and one world order cabals. You’re a bigger fool than the white mouth mule who jumped into the ocean to get out of the rain.
Don’t you know that the globalists work both sides of the street and let idiots like you believe they have a choice and some semblance of “free will” to go along with their “Free Markets” Die in your own ignorance, your not worthy of any more consideration.

      • Allan Halbert

No one here thinks a free market is pure. We just undestand it is better than the alternative.

      • Vicki

Why should your manipulation of the markets be any more desirable than those “evil” capitalists?

Remember there is only one possible benevolent dictatorship. That would be the one with me as the dictator. And I turned down that job.

      • DaveH

Thank you, Mabuse. You Liberal commenters are your own worst enemies. The more you talk, the more the readers of this board can see your true colors.
        Thank you. Please keep commenting.

    • http://none Mike

Dr. While your post is good and for the most part factual. I wouldent resort to name calling. I try in most of what I post to refrain form that. It turns people off that might otherwise listen to your points. I agree that solar is a good alternative but it has its problems. Such as unpredictability. While the sun is shineing there may be excess energy produced which can be fed back to the grid But what happens in extended periods of inclemit weather? Cloud cover and even the season changes can affect solar power in an adverse way and any excess energy is quickly consumed during such times.Untill such times can be compensated for through better storage metheds we are still going to need clean alternatives.I think alot of strides have been made in clean coal technologies and natural gas for power generation. The old methods of coal burning are slowly being phazed out. I know the dangers of bad coal methods first hand I live within 15miles of that coal ash retention pond disaster here in Tennessee. But there is also a plant here that has been fitted with Re-Burners that have cut such ash by 40% and this technology is really just getting off the ground.I have said many times that clean energy is a good thing but untill we can develope sources such as fusion power generation and hydrogen fuel cells for transportation. Lets not try to restrict what we have now. This would be pure suicide for our country and many other countries that rely on us for food production. So Clean energy for all but with a touch of comman sense as well. Mike L.

      • DaveH

There will come a day when the fossil fuel production declines, but in Free Markets the prices would then rise and alternative energies that are now too expensive would become competitive. But we would be fools to rush that event. Wasting more of our financial resources will not be the answer until we reach that point where we have no other choice.
It is a fact that the cleanest environments occur in the economically richest countries. Anybody see the Olympics in China? Terrible smog. But they will eventually achieve the kind of wealth to be able to afford a cleaner environment. Why? Because they are learning the advantage of Freer Markets. Something our Liberals are trying to take away from us.

      • http://none Mike

I agree Dave. The things in development now are exciteing to see though. I am a bit of a science geek so I try to keep track of these things. I would really like to see a dedication here in the united states to develope these things. But from what I am seeing so far canada and switzerland are a year or so ahead of us if not more. Robotics and nano tecnologies they are 10 years or better ahead of us we are starting to lag even futher behind. Soon nations like China and India might even pass us in areas we traditonally led the world in such as manufacturing and communications tecnologies. No we need a whole new outlook if we are going to retake the lead in some of these areas. Not the pipe dreams being foisted on us now. Mike L.

  • William Allen

    Dear John.

It is sad that we trash the idea of renewable clean energy.

Our country can afford a trillion dollars a year to build the most comprehensive global surveillance system to monitor every man, woman and child on the planet. It harvests human beings who stand in the way of global business and creates economic slavery for its consumer citizens, but will not invest in a future that raises the quality of mankind.

Our leaders have reach an extraordinary level of intelligence that defies common sense. As we enter wide scale economic collapse it will be fascinating to see if they can figure out what happened.

Try to imagine a World where it only takes 25 % of an individuals time to earn a living and pay for the necessary support of life. What would humans do with their lives ? What could they create ? What would the world be like without conflict ? When will we embrace that goal ? And why do we accept less from our leaders.

People seem to like the pain of repeatition

    • eddie47d

It’s easier to exploit other nations and even our own resources than take more responsibility in how we get our energy needs. There is a new type of turbine for use with tidal waves. Works better than the old turbines and produces more energy and faster. Coastal states would be wise to check into this. There are plenty of alternatives so let’s keep all options open.

      • DaveH

Where do you get this “exploit other nations” fallacy, Eddie? They trade with us willingly. I know you Liberals have a problem with the “willingly” part.

      • eddie47d

Don’t be so naive Dave. We have done it since our inception and in fairness ,so have many other countries.

  • Paul Voiland

It makes sense to avoid “fouling of our own nest”. National Geographic wrote an article about extracting oil from the Alberta sands. From what they reported, the damage to the local environment there is massive. It may be a way to make money but if it comes at the expense of clean air, clean water and good health what good is it? We have over the last several decades used a collaboration of government Public policy and private business response to the public policy to clean up our air and water. Some states, like California are farther along then others but over all the quality of life in America is better because we have chosen to avoid fouling our nest. It seems a little odd that we are willing to let other countries foul there nests so that we can live happily in ours.
Those who deny that human activity is raising the level of CO2 in the air have their heads in the sand (The oil sands apparently) I am very skeptical of people who are unable or unwilling to understand very basic scientific principles. If they do not understand this very fundamental information, what else have they failed to grasp?

    • Chow

The State of California you use as a model is bankrupt. Is bankruptcy better than developing industries and fossil energy by easing off on environmental regulations?

      • Kate8

Paul, You hold California up as some kind of example? We are a wretched mess because of liberal policies!

BTW, Agenda 21 is in full force here. They are installing smartmeters all over the state. Many of us are resisting because of issues of privacy, control, health and safety, but government is ignoring us and has, in fact, mandated them by law.

Santa Cruz residents banded together and succeeded in getting their city to ban the meters. If only more would do the same. (Interestingly, these folks are mostly far left!)

I have writtin my State and Federal legislators to repeal and/or ban Agenda 21 from proceeding. It is for one purpose, and that is to control our every move. And it makes people sick(er). I advise you all to get busy doing the same, because it has been going in all over the world and is now here. California is first, but it is coming your way sooner than you think.

Please, get busy. The intimidation tactics will increase, and we are told we have no choice. This is America. We have choice. If we don’t want to be bombarded with ever-increasing wireless devices and microwaves we’d better speak up now, because we are being steamrolled.

      • Eric Bischoff

California has problems like many parts of the world right now and because of the bad governing and because corporation like Enron took advantage of them. But when it comes to environmental policies they are a shining example that is admired and is the envy of many states as well as many foreign countries.

      • Jana

        Eric,
Not all of us consider California a shining example. We see industry leaving and hear loud and clearly the complaining of her citizens. That is not an example to most clear thinking people in this country or any other.

      • eddie47d

Good point on Enron. Another “expert” in the energy business who took us for a ride with it’s fancy book keeping and snockering California and others. They were a shining example of how a good capitalist company should work and everyone wanted a piece of their action. In 2008 there were many “enron” stories dragging this nation down. Yet people followed them like sheeple right to the bitter end. Talk about gullible-more like repetitive insanity. We will always need oil for many products yet the alternatives are a good bet also. Each region should use what is best for their area. Wind on the prairies and mountains.Solar where the climate is sunny or even moderate sunshine. Wave turbines on the coast. Even nuclear if a state is brave enough to take care of their own plutonium waste. We can beat foreign oil in a heartbeat and still have a clean environment. Is the willpower there?

      • Kate8

California’s economy has been DEVASTATED by leftist policies. And there’s no stopping them because we can’t get rid of the greedy, ‘I can have mine but yours is bad for the Earth’ politicians who control the voters through entitlements.

Funny things now is that even the lefties are upset about the smartmeters that the LEFTIST powermongers MANDATED on us without so much as informing us, let alone hearing us.

You lefty’s who think California has sound environmental policies obviously don’t live here. You make me laugh – ouch.

    • DaveH

Alleged Environmental Damage, Paul. That is all. The Liberals have been crying “the sky is falling” my entire life. Yet, here we are, doing just fine except for the lousy economy brought on by Liberal Government policies.
Use your “open” Liberal mind to read this (of course I kid about the “open” part):
      http://mises.org/daily/661/31

  • calan

We keep going around in circles with the same old same old.
Your Tea Party,G.O.P…aka..Grand Obstructionist Party,or Demoncrats
can t do much of anything to change what s going on in this country.
Too much big money buys the rich and big Coporate giants whatever
    they want.
Until we get to the root of where the big money comes from domesticaly and internationaly and begin to pressure them by cutting off their incomes by whatever means necessary. You can t stop them from buying off any politicians.

    • DaveH

If you’re talking about Crony-Capitalism, Calan, I’m with you. It doesn’t matter how much they pay the Politicians, though, we can still vote them out of office. The solution to the special protections from competition that are granted to favored companies by the Politicians is to shrink the size of Government dramatically. Get them out of the Marketplace. Let the consumer be king, and let companies compete fairly (that is without the protective force of Big Government).

      • Eric Bischoff

Another well thought out argument because yes government can’t ever be trusted but business can always be trusted to do the right thing.

      • Allan Halbert

Government is no less or more trustworthy than business. The difference is it doesn’t create jobs and has less expertise. So which one do you want to grow?

      • Vicki

Government doesn’t create jobs, has less expertise, costs more and allows no competition. Thus no choice.

      • Eric Bischoff

I don’t know are you saying government shipped our jobs overseas? Are you blaming them for that? Are you saying government sold fraudulent AAA rated securities to overseas pension funds and destroyed entire countries and brought down the world’s economy? Are you blaming government for the BP Deep Horizon well debacle? Are you blaming government for our massively screwed up healthcare system and let’s not play games it was massively screwed up way before Obama ever even got to the senate?

So yeah with your logic govt is always bad and business is always good.

      • Vicki

Government CAN be trusted. Trusted to be a dangerous servant and fearful master. Government can also be trusted to grow bigger if allowed.

      • Vicki

Business CAN. A specific business, like government, possibly not. But in a truly free market where the Customer is King the specific bad businesses loose out when the customer can, has and does choose. Unlike government, with businesses you do get a choice.

      • DaveH

Didn’t say that, Eric. Obviously you can’t read. Of course there are crooked people in all walks of life. The difference is that businesses can’t force us to buy their products.
By the way, you are one of them (the crooked people). You just hide behind the Government thieves that you vote for.

      • eddie47d

No the crooks are Enron,Lehman Brothers,AIG, Citi Bank,Big Pharma, Unitedhealthcare,Keating Savings and Loan,Goldman Sachs,Countrywide, hedge fund managers, and a few other garbage capitalists. Don’t pat yourself on the back praising these liars and cheats because it isn’t going to work anymore. You may want a few government agencies abolished and maybe that could be a good thing. There are also alot of private businesses including oil companies that should be “abolished” and for many reasons.

      • Vicki

Eddie47d. The list you gave is of businesses that never came to me and put a gun to my head and said BUY IT. NOW.

Government on the other hand does and for the first time is NO LONGER EVEN HIDING the fact with obamacare.

As to businesses YOU think should be abolished I accept that you are entitled to that opinion. You are NOT entitled to force them out of business with government force. Unlike obama care you can of course boycott them if you like.

        Try boycotting obamacare.

  • 1956mAGYAR

“jowolo” I second the motion. I have wished the same for Al Gore for many years. — The FUNDAMENTAL problem of most green sources is their intermittent nature and the cost of high volume energy storage. Some greens promote geothermal it may also be environmentally objectionable. Solar and wind farms are usually far from the user, transmission losses may bite into the low(?)cost of clean enrgy sources. Since wind and solar power inputs are not continuous supporting conventional power generating facilities must also be built to provide power during calm and cloudy days. Has anyone published the ENERGY INPUT needed to build the green energy sources AND the supporting back-up power sources (that, by the way, rely on carbon or nuclear based supplies)? Has any PC publication considered the cost of the power conversion installations needed to interface the green power sources with the present grid? Has the public been informed of the REDUCED reliability of a more complicated system? These are simple questions from an stupid old electrical engineer.

    • DaveH

If conservatives had been the originators of the wind-generators and the solar panel arrays, you can bet the Liberals would have been all over them for the eye-sores they are on our environment. It isn’t about making the earth a better place. It is about Power and Control and the money of others. That is all.
      Liberals are hypocrites.

      • Eric Bischoff

With that kind of analogy then conservatives must be paranoid.

  • http://donthaveone Beberoni

And maybe once we start drilling and actually end our dependance on foreign oil, we can disband the Department of Energy that Carter started all those years ago, you know, to get us off of foreign oil. Only now we are paying some 260,000 people in this Department of Energy huge amounts in the billions, and they never did what they were invented to do, wean us off of foreign oil. So lets drill baby drill, get our own oil, and disband and end these billions of dollars we are spending on funding the Department of Energy, and end these billions of dollars we are sending to Saudi Arabia every year. Its just plain irresponsible. Stop the madness.

    • eddie47d

The Dept. of Energy employees 16,000 people. They also contract out 93,000 people. That would be 109,000.

      • Jana

        eddie,
And when you contract out the contractors some have employees, depending on what the job requires. So it could easily be well over 200,000.

      • alpha-lemming

The department was also set up by Carter for…. (ready for this)…

REDUCING AMERICAS’ RELIANCE ON FOREIGN OIL AND MAKING US MORE ENERGY INDEPENDANT!!!!!!

        Ooops.

      • DaveH

The Department of Energy submitted a $26.4 Billion dollar budget request in May 2010. Congress provided them with an additional $38.6 Billion for 2009 and 2010 as a part of the economic stimulus package.
Who cares how many they employ? They are wasting our nations financial resources.
We need to abolish the Department of Energy, the Department of Education, and many others. Let those employees find work in the Private Marketplace doing something useful for our country instead of dragging down other productive people.

  • Richard Dunn

    Absolute crap:

    1. The truth is that the crown owns the mineral rights to all of canada, so the canadians get a pittance, reference cable tv’s movie on eco-refugees.

    2. The cogniscenti know that the arabs have bought out england with oil, this is the reason they are relenting to sharia law and have lost control of our coutnry in parliament. Further evidence is that the most popular name for male children in the UK used to be Jack, it is now Mohammed. Kinda explains Lady Die tipping her hand and dating the Arab and getting bumped off for it; to early.

    3. What we have to do is drill and stop giving up things like the Alaskan pipe line to BP an allowing bidding under the 1842 mineral act at fire sale prices… and oh yeah what about the reserves that are larger than Saudi Arabia at Gull Island Alaska. America does not need foreign oil at all, what we need is educated people that know what is going on and that is not you.

    Mr. Myers:

Informative and interesting article, but one major flaw: The Republicans will NOT control Congress, just the House of Representatives. The Senate and the White House will still be Democratic. The Republicans may be able to block new insanity, but they won’t be able to change damage already done, be it energy policy, Obamacare, foreign policy, or whatever.

    • Robin from Arcadia, IN

Jim P… Not yet… Wait until the next presidential election and see what happens!

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Maybe not, but they can stop them in their tracks, then in 2012 say bye bye to the rest of the losers. They have done enough damage, not its time for them to be silent.

    • DaveH

My prediction is that the Republicans will give a lot of lip-service to Freedom, but that is all. And that will be true even if we get a Republican president in 2012. Just like in the Reagan days. Don’t get me wrong, Reagan was a great president. But unfortunately it stopped there in the Republican party. He couldn’t do it all alone, no matter how hard he tried.

      • Eric Bischoff

Reagan was an idiot who started deregulation, destroyed labor, destroyed our education and healthcare. He is responsible for the the Biush/Cheney/Rumsfeld gang. He should have been arrested for treason the minute he stepped in to the white house for secretly meeting with the Iranians and trying to convince them not to release the hostages while Carter was still president because then he might have gotten reelected. He should have been impeached but hey we are more concerned with blow jobs. It figures you would think he was great.

      • Allan Halbert

It appears that right now, Obama and GW Bush are passing each other in unexpected, but opposite directions on the respect scale.

      • libertytrain

Yes, it sure does — kind of sweet

      • DaveH

Do you ever have anything factual or intelligent to say, Eric?
As anybody intelligent can see, the Democrats have controlled Congress for most of the last 60 years:
        http://uspolitics.about.com/od/usgovernment/l/bl_party_division_2.htm

As I said, Reagan couldn’t do it by himself, though he did issue more vetoes than any President in my lifetime.

      • Eric Bischoff

Really that”s how you read that chart. It seems to me that the important segment is what’s happened in the last 30 years which is when things really went down hill.

  • rosina

    Well said John.
The ONLY reason for these taxes is to make Barmy’s friends, Al Gore comes to mind, even richer so they can continue to FLY around the world, make millions whilst we suckers get poorer and poorer.
The US has no reason nor right, to interfere constantly in the affairs of other nations, such as the friendly Canada!
I would love to put all these so called Greens on a desert island, all together and see what they make of it. No imports, no flights, no cars, just bare desert sand, WOW, sounds good to me.
I am no scientist but learned Geography and Geology at school (is it still done?) and just from studying earth formations, the strata, and the agriculture it is SO easy to see that warm periods and then cold are no phenomenon but part of the cycles of nature.
King Canute of ancient History proved to his nobles he could not control the seas. When they kept on praising him for his works and said he could do anything, he asked for a chair to be brought by the sea. As the tides came IN, he ordered them to withdraw. Of course, they did not. And so he was proved right.
The Barmy one thinks he is the King (hopes)but is only a Calamity Jane without her ability to fire a shot!
Stopping CO as everyone knows is impossible. We breathe it for goodness sake. Without it NO PLANT LIVES. NOTHING.
For those of you interested in this subject go to a somewhat conservative newspaper in the UK. http://www.telegraph.co.uk and look up the blogger JAMES DELINGPOLE. HIS MAIN SUBJECT is this disgraceful twisting of facts. He often receives over 1000 comments, some abusive but many from serious scientists etc that can tell the truth. Also UTUBE-look for “Hide the Decline” a very funny song about how the so-called cheating scientists???? hid the warm spell in earlier centuries—and there were no cars etc then! And less people.
Gore and all would like to kill off half of the world’s population. That is the truth.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Al Gore, is the green Hitler.

      • eddie47d

Now that is stretching the truth Beberoni and Rosina. Rosina, who is interfering in the affairs of Canada? That would be the USA in our demands for their oil. Many Canadians Don’t want us interfering with their natural resources when we are so reckless in our usuage.

      • DaveH

We are demanding their oil? That’s news to me, Eddie. The only “demanding” I’ve seen lately is coming from the controlling Liberals.

      • Eric Bischoff

        You’re like a broken record.

      • Vicki

We could ask Eddie for a cite to validate his bald assertion but I suspect a certain place would freeze over first.

      • eddie47d

More Americans are demanding oil from Canada (Koch Brothers) than Canadians. We think the world is our playground and everyone else has to give in to us.

      • Vicki

Still waiting for a cite there eddie. And when did the koch brothers become all Americans? As far as I know we have oil enought under our land if we would drill baby drill for it. No need to bother Canada. Seems it is the environmentalists who are happy to use oil from OTHER peoples backyard instead of theirs.

      • Vicki

My bad. More Americans can mean simply 2 environmentalists now demanding oil from Canada where yesterday there was just 1.

        Sorry Eddie47d

  • Ben

I am a firm believer in pursuing all form of energy! We also must be realistic in that our economy cannot survive on “green energy” sources only. All you must do is look to the Spanish who’s economy was wrecked by switching to all “green” energy. Green energy sources at this point are not only cost prohibitive but impractical.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You are correct. Green energy doesnt work effectively at all. No sun, no wind, no energy. And all these people buying these battery cars. Just wait a few years down the road when they are finding out the exhorbitant cost of getting new batteries. What a rip-off. Then wait until the find out what it is going to cost to dispose of the old batteries. And just where is that waste going to get stored at? Its not all green now is it.

      • Conservative at Birth

That is the question that has not been addressed by anyone. We all know that a battery has limited life and eventually must be replaced. What are the costs? I know that a lithium-ion battery used for power tools has a life cycle of 1600 to 2000 charges. That is every time you charge the battery whether or not it is completely discharged depletes the batteries life. Where is the cost of replacing these batteries and what is their life span? No one ever talks about that factor.

      • Teresa

Yes I have thought about it, so has the Obama administration I think…
When Deng Xiaoping, the late Chinese leader, stated in 1979 that “The Middle East has oil, but China dominates the rare earth elements” nobody predicted that such statement would come to fruition in the 21st century. Today, China owns the international markets and mines 93% of the world supply.

The recent tensions between Japan and China over the fishing boat accident in disputed waters and the subsequent detention of the Chinese captain by Japanese authorities has again put the spotlight on China’s dominance in the rare earth minerals market.

China banned exports of its rare earth minerals to Japan until further notice and by doing so exposed again the need for a more diversified global supply.

Rare earth metals are actually not rare at all and can be found in many ore mines, but the separation process is expensive and difficult hence the fact that US mining companies halted their own production twenty years ago.

China no longer just supplies raw rare earth materials to the rest of the world, but has also expanded its alloy industry thereby creating higher paying jobs within its growing economy.

Prices have already soared since China cut its exports by 72% last July and the recent export ban to Japan raises extra concerns in the US who currently imports the related alloys from Japan directly for further applications in the automotive and military industry.

A continuation of the ban would force the US to exclusively buy raw and processed materials from China and would further strengthen China’s near monopoly in the market.

Several countries, including the US, are considering filing an official complaint with the World Trade Organization for violating the free trade agreements by banning exports to Japan and artificially influencing the fair market price of rare earth minerals.

Prices have already jumped 32% on average since the export reduction in July and are expected to continue to rise in light of the export ban.

      • Kate8

What about free-energy? I remember reading that Tesla developed a free and perpetual energy system, and it was confiscated and buried by the government because, a. no money for them and, b. they wouldn’t be able to use it to control us.

Others have developed free energy systems, too, and they are either silenced or they disappear.

The government doesn’t care about energy. They care about control.

      • http://none Mike

Kate, I dont know about these other free energy devices but Teslas is alive and well. Tesla had the right idea just about 100 years too early. We are just now starting to develope his wireless energy transmission ideas
        Mike L.

      • DaveH

Not only that, Conservative, but they contain poisonous metals. That will be the next Liberal calamity – poisonous metals leaching into the groundwater from the landfills. They claim to be concerned about the health of the Earth, but don’t mind a bit forcing these half-baked ideas on the rest of us.

    • Eric Bischoff

Wrong! you either have blinders on or you have bought in to the well oiled industry propaganda.

      • DaveH

You are only guessing about our blinders, Eric, but we can see yours. What kind of guy has his picture taken with his sunglasses on anyway?

  • Eric Bischoff

Spoken like a true energy investment specialist John. I love your subtle misappropriation of the language. Do all Republicans go to the same schools to learn how to co-opt language?

A huge sigh of relief” Cool w get to keep destroying the earth so that we can satisfy our addiction to oil but this time it’s with the second dirtiest carbon fuel next to coal. Mountain top removal and all. It’s a beauitiful thing. The sound of dollars for barrels.

“Climate change is dead forever” Unfortunately the only thing that will be dead forever, if we don’t change our behavior, will be us and maybe that’s a good thing.

“Leveling the playing field” now that’s funny. Since when has the playing field ever been level. It’s always for big oil, big coal and big money. It’s never for mother earth. Screw her, we want our profits and we want them now.

” A fresh look at oil sands” and yes what a beautiful sight it is. Have you seen the pictures? Have you seen the damage?

“Tea Party Influence” there you hit the nail on the head. The Koch brothers founders and financiers of the Tea Party are heavily invested in tar sands. Oh what a surprise!

“Stopping the greens before it’s too late” Yes by all means let’s destroy it all as fast as we can.

“The GOP gets it” Yes they get the profit over the people and the earth. It’s the only thing that matters.

“The US military could not get it’s fuel” which it badly needs to continue it’s illegal and obscene wars. Bring them home now!

“Energy injustice derailed” This ones is precious. Oh my god what if alternative energy was really capable of changing things around. Disruptive technologies would put the dirty carbon industry out of business and new clean industries would take over. What will we do. Well John you’d have to learn about new technologies for your energy advice newsletter.

“Liberty for all” to pollute, destroy, oppress, occupy, wage war, and all for greed and profits brought to you by small visionless minds.

Now there’s something to be thankful for.

    • Dagney

Eric, step back from your fear-mongering and get some common sense. For a little, read my post above.

      • Eric Bischoff

Sorry Dagney, we only have one planet, one atmosphere. There is no limit to how healthy we can be but there is a limit to how sick we can be and that is death!

If deregulation works so well and businesses are so responsible, please explain to me how we got to this financial collapse! Please explain Bhopal, Love Canal, BP Deepwater Horizon, Exxon Valdez, Chernobyl, Three Mile Island, Tennessee Sludge disaster, the GReat Pacific Garbage Patch, I could go on but you can look them up yourself http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_environmental_disasters

      • ValDM

        Eric,
You talk a good story, but how would you like to do without all the products that use petroleum? Laundry detergent? dish soap? bath soap? lotions? Vaseline? moisturizers? lipstick? How about having no produce? You see, petroleum is used in each and every one of these products. You, individually may not use all of these products, but I’m sure there’s a woman or women you associate with that would hate to have these products gone. Have you ever been on a windfarm? Do you know how destructive they are to wildlife? Petroleum is now and will always have a place in our lives. Get used to it and get over yourself.

      • eddie47d

Oil and a variety of chemicals have destroyed wildlife also and even our own health. BPA anyone.

      • Jana

        Eric,
Actually since you feel so strongly about it go ahead and show us how its done.
Since you are so smart, stop using anything to do with our current energy and show us how to live without it. Be the example. We are all waiting for better answers, come up with them, don’t just complain about us not having them. Put your money where your big mouth is.

      • Eric Bischoff

        There’s always an alternative!

      • Dagney

The financial collapse was caused by an out of control Democrat party again trying to engineer the outcome and forcing banks to stop “red-lining” which is just another way of saying the banks were using credit history to make good business decisions on who to lend to. Instead, the Democrats, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Barak Obama (yes, he was invovled, too, as a lawyer representing Acorn!) used government authority to force banks to “stop discriminating”. LOL, what a joke. So, what we got was a huge housing bubble that burst and people who were allowed to “purchase” homes they could never hope to pay for. Yes, those people still follow the Democrat party, though they caused all this damage to them because they are the ones hurt the most. The mortgage industry crisis was what caused MOST of the damage to our economy.

In actuality, we have not had a pure free-market economy since 1913. So, stop again with the talking points, Eric. You aren’t convincing anyone anymore. It’s a lost cause. The truth will out.

      • Dagney

Oh, and please explain to us all the PERMANENT damage done by all those disasters? We can’t stop disasters from happening. Innovation does require some trialand error. So, your solution would be to stop innovation so we have no errors? What a great solution you have! Government does not innovate, by the way. They stifle it! Government does not create wealth, they STEAL it! Get some common sense and chuck that marxist education you absorbed in college. Marxism has never worked and leads to untold misery and DEATH. The only true progressive era started in 1776! The truth of the so-called “progressive era” of this last century is actually RE-gressiveness!

      • Bob Echola

If you all remember nothing else, remember this: Those who do not make mistakes, aren’t doing much that is new.

      • Angel Wannabe

Bob__ Your right__wasn’t it Einstein that flunked Math 3-4 times?!

      • Allan Halbert

The financial collapse has been explained numerous times on this site, and government had a hand in it, as has the lamestream media. Individuals misrepresenting their finances, being unrealistic, and misusing personal credit also plays a role. You can certainly keep blaming it all on big business if it makes you feel good.

As far as the environmental disasters go (not including various kinds of sabotage by environmentalists), the “system” we have in the United States is not perfect! There will always be crime, war, disasters, and inequity. It’s just the best balance of that the world has seen. We won’t ever throw it out for the utopian vision of petulant people who want to regulate others. That’s not America. The producers are the backbone of America. Convey your ideas to the producers in a win-win respectful way and you might make more progress with your hopes.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

So have you stopped driving your car and heating your house, and using anything with plastic in it or on it. You are part of the problem them. Welcome to the human race. Now try to enjoy it, instead of being all doom and gloom.

    • Dagney

By the way, maybe new talking points are in order because these are getting very old and are turning people off.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You know Eric, you probably live in a house dont you? And that house sits on a piece of land that was once a forest, which was cut down to build your house. And animals were kicked out of that place, because of your house. And you probably drive a car, and burn fossil fuels and pollute the air. And you probably burn gas to heat your house, or use electricity, which burns coal to produce it. So either you need to tear down your house and restore it to the way it was, get rid of your car and quit driving it, and quit using any kind of fuel, or you sir, are one huge hippocrite. Whats it going to be Eric. You going to live, or you going to tear down your house? Thats what I thought.

      • DAVE

AND THATS THE NAME OF THAT TUNE AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! KILL AN ANT SAVE LIFE KILL A FISH GROW FOOD

      • Eric Bischoff

        Yes, yes and yes.

But I have also planted 30,000 trees on a parcel of land in michigan, they are now 50 feet high. I garden organically for the last 30 years. I also just installed 71 PV Solar panels on my house on Long Island and finally since I was forced to work from home after 911 my team of 10 people made a decision to keep working from home so now we don’t hardly drive at all.

Don’t pretend to ever know who you are talking to. What is your contribution?

      • Dagney

Your choices are wonderful for you. However, you want to impose those “choices” on everyone else by support of a tyrannical government. This is the anti-thesis of Americanism. What happened to those nice “live and let live” 1960′s hippies who thought “the establishment” (which was a much more constitutional government we have now, by the way) was evil. Oh, yes, they took over the government and became the tyrants.

      • Eric Bischoff

I am not trying to impose anything on anyone. If anything I am being forced to live a certain way by society limiting my choices. The dirtiest industries are still being subsidized and that needs to end now.

      • Eric Bischoff

And I am not and have never been for tyrannical government but I do believe that if we are going to have an EPA and an FDA they need to work to protect us the people instead of being loaded with industry people and doing their bidding which is what we have now.

      • Dagney

And, who is the FDA and the EPA to decide what is “protection” and what is actually HARM? They’re nothing but a bunch of government bureaucrats that know NOTHING about what they want to regulate! Less government and regulations and LESS government agencies will make for all of our standards of living becoming the envy of the world again. Then when we are totally free as the founding was intended, we can spread that freedom to other countries to do the same! There is evil in the world. We must attack each evil as it comes up. However, agencies like the EPA and whatever other alphabet some bureaucrat came up with wants to “fix” everything with a one-size fits all non-solution! And, when that doesn’t work, they try another one-size fits all solution. They are the PROBLEM, not the solution.

      • Chow

You think have contributed to the environment because of what you did or doing? No you haven’t. The best way for you to contribute to the environment and not pollute is for you and all humans to be gone from this earth.

      • Dagney

        You first.

      • Vicki

        Good Idea Chow.

        Be a leader. We’re ready.

      • http://yahoo richard

and what about the fumes from all that solder used to make those 71 panels? solder is made from lead!

      • Eric Bischoff

Geez I never thought about that I guess I am going to demand that they build another coal fired power plant in my neighborhood. I think I would rather suck on that.

      • Jana

        Eric,
My hat is off to you. You are out there trying to do something right. Hooray for you. This is what it takes, each one of us trying and working on it.
we are working on it too, but it is on a shoestring, and these things are really expensive.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I would say that if you have enough money to install 71 solar panels on your house, that you sir, are living high off the hog, and need to give back to society. If your house is that big, then you are using quite a bit of energy to heat and cool it, because the sun doesnt charge those things everyday, I know that. And my contribution. I drive a fuel efficient car, and buddy I drive it wherever I want to go. On vacation I drove it up to the Northern tip of Michigan, and I loved it. I bought a new 98 percent effecient furnace and new AC unit for my house, not because I wanted to, but because my old one died, and I want to save money with this new one. I sold my old two story with a basement house, which was only 1700 square feet, and moved into a 1250′ ranch. My contribution, is I fish all the lakes I can and keep the fish populations under control by eating what I catch. I dont believe in global warming , because I know its all a lie, and as more time passes, and more and more lies from the left are being revealed, I know Im right about it. How proud & arrogant can you be that you actually think man can destroy this earth? Do you not know that God himself will be the one to destroy it? Man cant do it, so dont worry about it. But do be a good steward of what he has given you. And if youve built yourselve a treasure on the earth big enough to fit 71 solar panels on it, Id say you need to stop being so selfish with your stuff.

      • Angel Wannabe

        Beberoni, Nice job!!

      • eddie47d

That’s a rather silly analogy. Most folks do live in houses Beberoni and use oil and gas. Good for us, but everyone should do his part in reducing their carbon footprint. That makes sense for a nation who complains about foreign oil and wars for oil and high energy costs. We can be a very wasteful people and don’t even need alot of the energy we use. Saving energy in our personal lives is an excellent form of patriotism and love for those around us.It’s much easier on the wallet too!

      • Jana

        eddie,
I agree that we each need to do our part, but I don’t believe my part is in buying anything from Al Gore to reduce my carbon footprints and watch him become even more wealthy than he is already.

      • Kate8

Jana, Plus ‘ol Al has a REALLY BIG footprint. But then, he gets to buy his footprint, which most of us can’t do.

Hypocrites. Don’t listen to what they say. Watch what they do.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You are correct eddie, but if you read his post, he would make it seem that we are all evil and destroying the earth because we drive to work and live in houses. These are necessary for the world we live in eddie, and you and I know it. But he seems to miss the point.

    • Conservative at Birth

Are you a Communist, or just another Totalitarian?

    • Angel Wannabe

Oh Great, Erics an energy expert too?!, you guys never cease to amaze me, with your tremedous gifts of knowledge!__geez o man!

      • Eric Bischoff

I am sorry if I read too much for your taste. I would be happy to share my library or my bookmarks with you AngelWannabe. And when may I ask can we expect you to start acting more like an angel?

      • Angel Wannabe

Thanks for your concern Eric, I do an act as I wish, and I certainly don’t need your permission!

      • eddie47d

You sound like another selfish spoiled American Angel. “what is good for me”.

      • Jana

No she doesn’t. She speaks common sense and truth. She never said either, that she was an Angel, she said she was an Angel wannabe, there is a vast difference.
I pray daily that I please the Lord my God in every way. That doesn’t mean that I do or have, but that I am working on it. I also pray that when I do something displeasing to the Lord, that He shows me so I won’t do it any more. We are all human, and doing our best.

      • Angel Wannabe

Jana__ thank you and thats exactly what my name implies, an angel I’d like to be, but I know I’m not!_When God sees fit, I’ll get my halo!

      • Karolyn

Angel- What an excuse. “I’m not perfect, so I won’t even try.” Why do you feel the need to challenge someone’s expertise or experience? Is it just to make yourself feel more superior? That’s usually the case in such instances.

      • Angel Wannabe

Ah geez__ if you only knew!!__selfish____LMAO__Go home child!!!

      • eddie47d

Angel, Then don’t act like it then.

      • DaveH

Oh, Eric reads. Swoon! You are my Hero, Eric!
Now, try thinking, Ignorant Liberal. I have two four-year degrees, one in Mathematics, and one in Biology. Seven years of college and graduation with honors in both degrees. I have spent 40 years home-studying economic and political ideas. Still, I would never dream of forcing my choices on other people, like you Liberals do. I know very well how to take care of myself. It irritates me to no end to have a bunch of Ignorant Liberals with less than half my knowledge trying to run my life.

      • Vicki

If Eric reads so much and has all those bookmarks he offered to AngelW why are his bald assertions so… bald. Like most that appear to be liberals here I don’t see him providing cites to backup his claims.

      • Karolyn

Wow, Dave, I must say I am very surprised to hear that you are so well educated. Your remarks very often do not portray you as such.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I find Angel to be much more angelic than you Eric. Angel brings light and understanding and good things, where as 90 percent or more of your posts are doom and gloom and name calling, and chicken little the sky is falling, and nobody is going to take you seriously if you go around talking and acting like Al Gore. Im sorry sir, but thats just the facts. Al Gore is a walking joke. Even his wife realized it and dumped his phony butt. Clinton dumped him. His wife dumped him. His fellow vets dumped him. I mean how much do you need to see to understand what this guy is? Not to say he cant change, but for now, he is a joke. And I do hope he gets up out the mire he is in, and someday soon finds the Truth. That would set him free.

    • DaveH

Yes, Eric, and you speak like a typical double-speaking Liberal. Mostly conjecture, little fact, and half-truths.
We are destroying the Earth? The sky is falling, the sky is falling! In fact, as our nation has become richer, we have had more resources to spend on a clean environment. Our country is cleaner now than it was 40 years ago. We can thank our wealth creation for that.
I wish we could satisfy your Liberal addiction to our money. But we can’t. The more money and power we give you Liberals the more you want. You and your fellow Liberals are destroying our economy with your thieving ways. And you are destroying our Freedom with your controlling ways. That is a fact. You can see it in country after country. Whereas your fantasy of our earth-destruction is mostly just that – fantasy.
You are wasting yours and our time with your fear-mongering about Global Warming. Most of us aren’t afraid to read and learn the truth about the hoax, unlike you “open-minded” Liberals.
The playing field is “level”, Liberal, when people can conduct business voluntarily. I realize that isn’t the kind of Level that you want. Your agenda is not acceptable to most people, so you must make effort to force it on an unwilling populice using Big Government as your Bully Boys.
So you denigrate “profit”, but don’t have any problem at all with the forcible taking of other peoples’ money. Let’s see, who is the most moral? A Capitalist who seeks profit from voluntary purchasers, or the Liberal who seeks other peoples’ money using the force of Government? Duh!
If the Liberal alternative energy ideas had any real advantages, people would snatch them up voluntarily in a Free Market. They don’t, so you seek to ram them down our throats with the force of Government.
You may be having visions, Eric, but I have a cure for that. Stop using LSD.

      • Kate8

DaveH – Yes, our nation was thriving under freedom and capitalism. As is always the case, as Progressives ‘progress’ forward with their proven-to-fail ideals, the nation starts to crumble. They wreak misery and destruction wherever they go.

It’s weird. No matter how many facts you place before them, they won’t see it. Like I said, they are damaged.

      • Angel Wannabe

DaveH,, I love your last sentence!___Good wit!!

      • Eric Bischoff

Your entire rant is based on ASSumptions. You know nothing about me. Actually all of these degrees and still you behave like a moron. How sad, what a waste!

      • DaveH

Of course you offer no rebuttal, just a personal attack. What else would I expect from an Ignorant Liberal?

      • eddie47d

Come on Dave, You call people names and then tell others they shouldn’t do it. What’s with that?

      • Karolyn

Dave, haven’t you just done the same thing?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Again, to eddie this time instead of Eric. Ignorant isnt a name. It is a word that describes someone who doesnt know. Its not calling you stupid or a name. Its making a statement that you dont know. Ignorant means you dont know. Get over yourself. You guys keep calling names to everyone, then when Dave lets you know, that you truly dont know, you accuse him of calling names. Wow.

DaveH – Many of us have repeatedly called the libs on their need to FORCE their ideas on us and control us. I have yet to see one of them respond.

They have no answer. They have complained about conservative and Christian beliefs and how offensive they find us, but we have not FORCED it on anyone, and wouldn’t, because we believe in free will. Yet they DO use FORCE on us, and seem fine with it. After all, they know so much better than us.

They can’t answer because they know it is true.

They are like spoiled children who just have to have their way. Frankly, I have zero interest in anything they have to say anymore. They just aren’t credible or even worth my consideration. They have proven their hypocracy and hostility to true liberty and all things of true value, and also that they cannot be trusted with power.

If conservatives ever return to power I be for steamrolling over them the same way they’ve done to us. The difference would be that they would still be free to speak, throw tantrums and act stupid, or do whatever it is they do. They just wouldn’t be able beat us up anymore, like the bullies they are.

Eric, DaveH has more class and common sense in his little finger than you could ever even dream about having.

      • Karolyn

I have never even thought of forcing my ideas onto anyone else. I speak my position plainly and allow another to speak theirs. There is room for all opinions.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Note to Karolyn. If you support the left wing liberal democrats, then you fully support forcing your beliefs on others, and fully believe that they are not entitled to their opinion. This is one of the tenants of the democrat party.

    • Al Sieber

Hey Eric, please explain how solar and wind power, and alternative energy will save us? I’ve been living off the grid for 13 years, it takes back up power when there’s no sun or wind. like a generator, you know, gas or diesel, when you solve this problem let me know, I’ll debate you anytime, any where, on this subject.

  • http://yahoo jowolo

I can only hope that environmentalists freeze their asses off in the dark. They want to ban anything that works. Just like ddt. It has never been proven to be harmful. Drill baby drill.

    • eddie47d

Go pour some DDT on your pancakes and call us in the morning. DDT could have been a useful chemical if it wasn’t overused at the time.

      • Angel Wannabe

eddie47d, I have a question, you eviros are so concerned about clean energy, while you folks are busy complaining about the fossil fuels, and keep pushing for cleaner energy__have you ever thought about what it’s going to take to create a new form of energy???__Everything we use will be affected and have to be redesigned!!!___lawn mowers <gas powered!< cars gas powered!_tractors, oil fired heat, leaf blowers, chain saws, weedwackers, wood chippers, farm tractors, farm equiptment, irragation equiptment, motors of every kind, anything we used in plastics,_I'm a lot of other folks on here could chime in, I'm pretty simple minded___Are going to use an electric Ups truck to ship across country???___ How about semi's, boats, planes, the list goes on and on. You enviro folks can try and come up with anything at all in clean energies, but you and you eviro friends will NEVER GET RID OF FOSSIL FUELS, PERIOD!!!_-The planet relies on it and there is plenty of it right here!!!!__and ya know what if we run out, then I guess we place our heads firmly between our legs, and kiss our azz's goodbye!__It's not in our control, your bosses, brainwashed you into thinking it was and you fell for it HOOK, LINE AND SINKER!!!

      • eddie47d

Angel, I have stated SEVERAL times over the months that oil and coal will be around for a long time. Nobody is going o pull a switch and instantly change things over. Now if you had been paying attention you would have known that and avoided your “CRITICAL thinking” The change should have started 40 years ago in pushing for alternatives but we know how stubborn some people can be. Your feet are stuck in the Tar Sands and can’t get beyond the oil fever. Try thinking outside the box and help develope a whole variety of new ideas.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Eddie, theyve been looking for alternative energy long before your 40 year window. And they havent found anything as reliable and affordable yet. And if they do, you can bet someone will price it so high, that we will long for the day of 2.50 a gallon gasoline.

      • Eric Bischoff

Progress is a wonderful thing isn’t it. We learn and we apply. We get to invent new things and make them better and better.

Do you really like these 2 cycle engines? Do you like their smell? Their whiny noise?

Gotta love that smell when your neighbor is doing that and you are trying to enjoy lunch on the deck.

Never mind the obnoxious noise and smell, do you know that one hour of mowing and blowing with 2 cycle motors pollutes as much as driving a car 345 miles?

I have switched to electric and since I have solar panels it’s a double win for me.

I don’t know where you’ve been hiding but the technology is there already.

There isn’t just one technology. We need to incorporate all of them. Wind, Solar PV and thermal, Tidal, Hydro, Geothermal, Biogas, Cogeneration, so that we can eventually phase out the polluters. That is if you are interested in breathing.

The Chines are now producing more coal pollution than we are and it is affecting our western shores.

      • DaveH

        Eddie,
You don’t have a clue. The banning of DDT has resulted in millions of people contracting Malaria around the world. The actual dangers of DDT were proven only by junk science and politics, not real science.
For any Non-Ignorant Liberals who truly have open-minds:
        http://mises.org/daily/2236

      • Al Sieber

        DAVE, YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!!!!!

      • eddie47d

Always calling people ignorant which makes you rather unintelligent right there. Yes, DDT shouldn’t have been pulled from the market but it is still a dangerous chemical. If it had been used properly then there wouldn’t have been the controversy and they could have continued to spray for malaria. Both sides blew that one.

      • Karolyn

All chemicals are dangerous. That’s why all the kids are sicker these days. I never knew anybody with allergies, juvenile diabetes, adhd or autism when I was a kid. It did not exist. It’s comin’ from somewhere!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Thanks Dave, for your truthful insight. But dont lay the truth on eddie, you know he cant take it and will reject it. He is ignorant to the truth, and will accuse you of calling him names, when ignorant isnt a name, its a way of life for people like him. They just dont know, thus the meaning of the word ignorant.

  • Barbara Humphrey

Thank you tea partiers. More fossil fuel mining and drilling, more fossil fuel burning. We are so close to the end now, why put it off a few hundred years via clean, renewable energy. Let’s race (on fossil fuels of course) to the finish line of the earth and all that inhabit it.

    • TIME

      Barbara,
I am not sure where you get your intel from on as to how much we do or do not have of any types of fuels.

But lets say that your right, knowing that over the last 40 years people have been working on all types of fuel replacments, yet to date non have been really a 100% total success, why is that? Again we can create Plasma aka something that just 20 years ago was alledged to not exist.

Do you really thank that windmills made in China and then sold to US is really going to make things better? And for whom?
Do you really think that if we use say mass transit thats really going to fix the problems that we are alleged to have?

I ask you to please keep in mind that Government reps who have made claims of we are running out of such supplys would be the same ones that can’t read?
Nor can they understand what they read, and please thats not my words but in their own words, they pass bills and don’t read them as they can’t understand them, and as noted by countless members of both houses, “WHO CAN understand this stuff.”

So based on just that alone it should make one at least start to think about why they say such things based on “Covert FEARS” when these very people stated they “can’t read, nor understand what they read.”

As well then we have to factor in that the Media who reports this intel thats being fed to them by people who again; “Can’t Read, Nor Understand what they read.” Yet – Oddly “the Media fails to do any form of independant research.”

Is it just me or do you also think that this method of gaining intel is rather FLAWED?

As in if, one idiots tells the next idiot that the third Idiots is far more stupid than they are, whos the one thats really has the least IQ?
The leaders or the followers or the despencers of said Intel?

      • Karolyn

We are bound to run out. There certainly are no more fossil fuels being made, are there? hint, hint: “fossil.”

      • Peter

TIME, It’s about time you did some research outside of your navel-gazing! I have this year installed 2.5Kilowatts of solar panels on the roof of my home. The quarter prior to installation, my electricity bill was $258. This quarter? $21.75. That is the very real difference.

      • Eric Bischoff

Congratulations Peter I just installed 16.3K on my duplex and my bills are drastically cut also. We are doing our part to help propel us into a new era.

    • Dagney

Barbara: There’s a difference between free market innovation and tyrannical government forcing innovation and picking the winners and losers. The environmentalist revolution, which began in the 1960′s, has help clear up some problems. However, they are beyond “helping” and are now trying to “put their boot on the necks” of freedom, liberty, and innovation because all they want is power over us now and to TAX our very exhalations (Co2). AND, now they want to PICK which companies will develop “renewable” energies because one of their friends has some sort of interest in that company. Is that REALLY how you want our government run? There is absolutely no rhyme or reason to a tyrannical government and how they choose their pet projects. AND, they write so many laws that NO ONE knows what laws they may be breaking. In other words, they want all the power, but are totally incompetent in running things.

The only solution is for government to be drastically reduced and to step back and let the REAL experts (the businesses who actually KNOW something about their business) take over to invent and innovate. Solar and wind are just big money pits that are pet projects of tyrants because they have so many friends invested in it. And, don’t get me started on Algore. Regulations that are choking off business innovation need to be eliminated immediately! And, don’t give me any straw dog arguments about “evil” businesses. If there are “evil” businesses, I say enforcement of REAL laws (not crony capitalist laws) based on a constitutional civil society must be enforced. NOT new regulations because cronies of the governments who are business competitors that gave enough lobbiest money!

There was a news story out just yesterday stating that pollution in California has been reduced MORE THAN 85% since 1975. The greenies had their purpose, the businesses are aware they must be contientious of the environment. Who, by the way, really, wants to destroy our planet? We all live here and want our children to be able to, too.

Another good bit of reading, “The 5,000 Year Leap” by W. Cleon Skousen and “Liberty and Tyranny” by Mark R. Levin.

      • Angel Wannabe

GDagney , Liberty and Tranny is a lil’ wordy, but a good read.

      • Angel Wannabe

        Crap__I meant Tyranny.

      • sylviam

Thats ok angel, just have another cup of coffee and it will open your
eyes or uncross them, works for me, then again typos do happpen.
        GOD BLESS AMERICA

      • alpha-lemming

????? When talking about progressives, tranny might be more correct than you think. They are especially fond of “cross-dressing” as patriots, Constitutionalists, Americans and similar descriptors that aren’t in their genetic make-up.

      • Teresa

        Very well stated.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Lady, look at the facts, instead of the hype Al Gore got you into you. We can drill and use oil, dig and use coal, and mine ore and rock and stuff, for a million years, and everything is going to be allright. Get over this left wing liberal agenda. They lied and are wrong, and got caught. We need to drill everywhere. Id rather see an oil rig in a field, instead of 500 wind turbines everywhere I look. Those things are an eyesore, and they kill thousands of birds, kind of contrary to the green save the animals and environment thing isnt it? I would think so. Of course on the left only, things are expendable to support their agenda. How silly of me, I must have forgot.

      • Angel Wannabe

        Agreed Beberoni!

      • eddie47d

Th climate change folks did not lie about global warming. It was a computer glitch (human error) that threw the figures off. It was a set back in getting the truth out but that should be expected; and that problem has been fixed.

      • Dagney

        ROTFLMAO! Computer glitch!

      • Angel Wannabe

        DITTO!__LMAO!__Computer glich!!!???

      • JC

Actually the IPCC document that was released by the UN had been so badly edited from the one produced by the scientific groups commisssioned to investigate, that the majority of those same scientists wanted their names removed from the report.
Citing that it was “unrecognizable” from the report they provided to the UN.

      • Eric Bischoff

The glossed over important part of the story is that the anti global warming forces bought and paid for by the carbon industry would have absolutely nothing to counter with if it wasn’t for finding minor errors and blowing them out of proportion. That by the way is their modus operandi in many other areas.

    • DaveH

Thank you, Barbara and your Liberal cohorts, for impoverishing our children and our grandchildren with your hare-brained energy schemes. If your ideas are so attractive, why must you force them on people? Why not present your alternative energies to those of like-mind to buy voluntarily? Of course, that is a rhetorical question, because the answer is that only a few of your Ignorant fellow Liberals would impoverish themselves for your illusary goals.

      • Allan Halbert

Hi Dave- I think their urge to control others comes from a deep-seated insecurity or envy of people who are self-reliant.

      • libertytrain

Allan, I had come to that conclusion as well a while ago -

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

There is no clean, renewable energy that is enough to run anything, than other for a short time. And no one can afford it either. The cleanest energy we have is nuclear, but heavens knows you greenies have already put us 20 years behind the French and other countries that have been enjoying the power it creates for all this time.

  • Angel Wannabe

I’m so damn sick of Green this and Global Warming that, I could puke__and you can bet ur azz, that we’ll be watching the new Congress this time. This pussy footing around with Green House Gases and Global Warming and the EPA, has driven industry off shore. Thers barely anything left in industry!!! While theres nothing wrong with SOME regulation, the restrictions are so tight on industry,it’s left our economy in shambles. The Green Czars, can take they’re carbon foot prints and put it where the sun don’t shine. Ya want better air quality, how about planting plants, trees & shrubs! It’s all here, The Good Lord has provided it, Washington wants to take whats been given freely and complicate it with politics!__and Nothing more__They remind me of bunch of riddlin injected ADD students, with nothing else to do. So they create more problems! Run the damn Country Washington, and stop trying to CONTROL THE WORLD!

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I agree. And in California, they have gone as far as making people pay someone, whom I dont know, but they pay 45 thousand dollars and upwards, to make sure before they build something, that they dont disturb a wooly worm that might be buried in the ground 6 feet down. I think this enviro crap has gone way overboard. Im all for taking care of things, not letting business or people dump stuff into the sewers. Im all for making factories clean up dumping black smoke in the air, and Im totally against people littering, which it seems I am seeing young people just do all over these days. But to where these guys have taken it, is way out of hand. I say drill baby drill, and drill often and drill some more. We have the oil, we have the technology, and we know how to do it safely and effectively, and it is because of these same enviro’s that we were having to drill in 5000 feet of water and bad things happened. It is all the greenies fault, no if’s, ands or but’s about it. Drill on land where it is safe, and get off the foreign oil. And start now.

      • who cares

did you know alaska oil is sold in the open market? usa don’t even get to use their own oil resource because greedy exxon/mobil make more money by selling it to other countries. Did you know tax paying american subsidize oil companies. thats GOP for you saying one thing and doing an other. in others they smile at you, and knife you at same time. if it makes feel good blame the liberal, and democrats.

      • Carl E.D.

        Who Cares,

    • Peter Wacker

The problem is, there is no “good lord” or any god for that matter. The reason we are so screwed is our allowing religion and greed to influence policy instead of science. You can see the results. American students rank 24th in science and 21st in math. They did rank #1 in confidence that they aced those tests. America is full of over confident, mediocre “wannabe’s”..
Global warming is real. The vast majority of climatologists around the world agree on this. The few that don’t are paid by energy companies, or are commenting out of their field. Oh, and esteemed scientist Rush Limbaugh, who doesn’t even have a degree in journalism, let alone any scientific field, knows global warming doesn’t exist.

      • Crystal

Science has become extremely insulting. There was a time when science was worth listening to. Now it’s filled with sceintist looking for 15 minutes of fame; and they don’t care whether what they are throwing out there is accurate or a lie. They just don’t care.

      • Angel Wannabe

Yep Chrystal, nothing but a bunch of worn out actors, who have mainly theories, and are running outta time to lie!!!!

      • Kate8

Angel, These global-warming ‘scientists’ are nothing but shills for the NWO elites. It’s all a sham to scare us and control us. Nothing more. As was said, even if there is any global warming, it is solar and affects the whole solar-system, not just Earth. There are forever cycles of warming and cooling.

Global warming is just another tool to force us in to the NWO. Except that we caught on to them. Many of us NEVER believed it in the first place. All it takes is a little common sense. Unfortunately, that is sadly lacking in too many people, especially of a certain ideological persuation.

The truth is, the elites think that we are using up all of ‘their’ resources, and they are trying to prevent us from accessing them because they plan to use them after the Earth is culled.

      • Angel Wannabe

Your right kate, the idiots saw the cycles of cooling/warming, and they $$$ signs and a dim light brightened, and hoped on the global warming wagon. They did this instead of trying to create a enviroment for a capitalist society to flourish!___NWO right down the line!

      • BrotherPatriot

Good job, girls. Your helping to keep this information fresh in the mind of the public.

Research Jim Tucker & Daniel Estulin & the Venitian Black Nobility.

        God Bless.

P.S. Just found this…it’s a little rambly but speaks about the truth of the equation.

        http://www.rebelnews.org/opinion/history/158634-how-the-french-were-lobotomized

^^ I would say cross research The French Revolution about the truths of the canabalistic feeding of the masses. Seems pretty demonic to me…frying people in butter and feasting? ^^

      • Kate8

BrotherPatriot – Thank you for that. Wow. A piece EVERYONE should read if they want to know what has been planned for us.

I have read many books on the French Revolution, and it’s shocking what a ‘civilized’ people are capable of if motivated by class-envy and entitlement. Just look around at the millions of entitlement-minded and third-world minions in America today and ask yourself if this is possible here. It is, in fact, what they have been brought here and programmed to do. It’s all set up and the time is growing near for them to be triggered.

      • Dick Gazinia

Look at the satellite photos of receding glaciers all over the world, changing ocean currents, and other REAL scientific data and you will see that global warming is real. The only people that deny it are shills for big oil and coal, or believers in a flat earth where Adam and Eve rode to church on dinosaurs 5oo years ago.

If you want true lunacy masquerading as science check out the Creation Museum in Kentucky. The ravings taught as truth are as far from reality as the religion of ancient Babylon.

      • Kate8

Dick – Earth has been around for a REALLY long time. It is actually timeless. Anyway, it has to do with our cruise around the galaxy as it cruises around the Universe. Think outside of your self-centered box and realize that Earth, like every other planet, goes through continual cycles of heating and cooling.

If you read a little further you’d see that science has confirmed that ALL the planets in our solar system have warmed. Big deal. It’s not like they will stay on a warming trend forever. It will swing back.

Science has only been keeping track of temperatures for around 100 years. That means we have a blip of information out of millions (more?) of years from which to sample.

Let’s get some perspective here, and realize that this is something that has been hyped in order to bring about an agenda. Stop being so easily played by those who are laughing at how naieve you are.

      • Vicki

        To Dick and Peter

I have a one word answer.

        Climategate.

      • Karolyn

Climate change may or may not be a natural occurrence, but it can be argued that greenhouse gases are hastening it. Also, previous climate changes occurred when there was no pollution. Sooner or later, we will deplete this planet. Everyone talks about the legacy left for their grandkids as far as economics goes. What about leaving them with an Earth that’s a desert?

      • JC

Dick, what is your point? That the world is changing? Ok sure it is…and it has been doing so for about a billion years. It sure as hell isn’t influenced by me warming up my truck when it’s 20 below.
It’s all happened before and it will all happen again.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Note to Dick Goes In Ya. Nice play on your name pal. On the global warming hoax, how do you explain that the planet has actually cooled since the 70′s, and that the polar ice caps are growing thicker and bigger than they have ever been, and are actually collapsing under their own weight, which is what those pieces you see falling off are. But it is making more than it breaks off. All the geological scientists say so. But you would rather listen to Al Gore’s 7th grade science teacher guy he refers to as a scientist, wouldnt you. And yes, the glaciers are receeding, and they have been since the beginning of when they were first formed. Do you not know that? Its just with new technology these past 20 years so so, they are starting to monitor them, when they didnt before. And so, lets say in 50 years they all recede and melt. Ok, now there is more land showing. Is that all that bad? Animals dont have to trek across miles of ice anymore, they have land right there that things they eat will populate on. Are you really bothered by all the hype of this? And also Dick, be aware, the world is reserved by God do be destroyed by fire, so maybe we should warm up first, you know, to maybe get peoples attention. But it isnt man’s doings that will be warming it up, so dont think so highly of yourself that mere men are powerful enough to do that. They arent.

      • Granny Mae

        Angel Wannabe,

This global warming is like you say a scare tactic. Even if we stopped all the emissions today the amount of change on this inviornment would be next to nill. They all talk about how the Pacific ocean is warming and that it is caused by man. I say BUNK ! The only thing big enough to warm an ovean is all the volcanos under sea that are erupting and spewing lava into the ocean. The rim of fire has been extremely active for the past 20 years. We have been getting more and more sun bursts over the past 35 years too. That is seen in skip rolling on radio signals and the northern lights. One of these days we will probably get a dirrect hit and that is not going to be nice but there will be those out there that won’t know what hit them ! At this point in time there is nothing we can do about it except to keep searching for solutions but these idiots and tree huggers will become such a nusince that they will hinder any progress till it is too late.

      • Eric Bischoff

Personally I have reached a stage where I could care less what happens next due to your denial and inactivity in regards to our polluting the planet and the atmosphere. If the oceans rise and storms become more and more intense and oceans acidify and the food becomes scarce and people die. So be it.. I It’s sad to say but there really are way too many idiots on this planet. We’ve been abusing it and we don’t deserve it.

      • CHARLES BOLLFRASS

Global Warming is not science,,,it’s the result of NSF Money spent on scientific hypothesis and the EPA declaring carbon and CO2 as hazardous substances,,,Buddy

      • Chow

Global warming is due to the sun growing a bit larger, it’s a star after all and someday trillion of years from now it will gobble up this planet earth.

Can you imagine a millimeter increase is the size of the sun increases it’s heat generating reaction logarithmically?

      • http://none Mike

Chow , Wow some of us out there finally get it.I have stated just that fact several times and I get the same answer most of the time. The greenies know about the suns activity but they still say Oh No its really us that is causeing it to be worse. Guess all of us southern fried science nuts who do our research are just nuts right? :) Kinda had to throw that in there because I am a proud southern geek.Mike L.

Duh. Yeah, the weather changes. And that is news how? The question is whether man influences that weather to any significant degree. I always figured that Government would reach the hight of its arrogance when it claimed to know how to control the weather. Here we are.
Only Ignorant Liberals, who refuse to read anything contrary to what they want to believe, can embrace the Anthropomorphic Global Warming Hoax.
There are many factors driving the hoax. One is that the Greens think they have finally come up with a way to force inefficient alternative energy schemes on the rest of us. Another is the lust for research funds by the scientists on the Government Dole. The only way they can get the public to invest in their unnecessary research is to attempt to scare the hell out of them. And finally, of course, Government leaders grow their power and size with each new Imagined Calamity.

      • http://therealbarackobama.wordpress.com/2009/02/21/the-california-water-v-delta-smelt-war/ Gorba

Who Cares, So please tell us all who was responsible for the global warming the last time there was an ice age and it thawed out and melted. Was it the Dinosaurs perhaps? The reality is that we have been thawing from the last ice age, since that last ice age.
The earth has gone through these cycles for millenniums.
The only reason the progressives are pushing the global warming agenda is for power and money. The same bunch of fools were dabbling in banning nuclear power in the 1070s and 1980s.
Take your head out of the sand for once, you may learn something.

      • JC

Well Gorba it’s a little known fact that Dinosaurs were driving SUV’s and…. ;)

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Yes sir. I did talk to God. Rather, He talked to me. Its my job to listen. If I still myself and be quiet and listen, yes, He talks to me everyday and guides my way. He has left me His word, and His word says the world will be destroyed by fire when He comes to reign. It is reserved for destruction by fire, so excuse God while he warms things up, with the sun and wind that HE CREATED, to maybe wake up some folks that its got to warm up before it starts cooking baby. And He will heat it up. I dont know when, only that He will destroy it by fire. And yes, He told me this. Some of us actually take the time to seek out our CREATOR, and try to please Him by finding out what He wants us to do, then do it. Its pretty simple. I dont know about you, but me, Ill guarantee you that a bird didnt poop on a rock, and the sun fermented it and I rose up out of that bird poop. No sir. God created me. And yes, He told me that also.

      • Granny Mae

        Who cares,

Hang in there baby cakes it is coming ! I remember 40 years ago on Christmas the temps. were 75 degrees and we ran around without a coat in the north country, two days later we had 21 inches of snow on the ground and it was 18 below 0. Stayed that way the rest of the winter ! Oh by the way I talk to God all the time. He had a message for you! He said tell him ” I DON’T KNOW YOU !” Jus sayin !

      • Angel Wannabe

Another thing ther Peter Wack Job__The reason why science is so screwed up, is because it’ been infiltrated by a bunch of money hungry corrupt politicians!__That’s why it’s on the skidz!!!Al Gore made millions based on a friggin lie!!!

      • Kate8

Angel, his moniker says it all. It’s obvious where his head is.

      • Jana

Yes, and the only reason he is on here is to cause trouble. He talks just like a communist, so we know where he is coming from. By the way, I would like to be there when he is explaining to God why the all important PW is proclaiming there is no God. He will find out for himself soon enough.

      • Angel Wannabe

Jana, Whew!_-Thats what I’m sayin__I have my own life to answer for, whn I go to meet the maker, but denouncing God, to me its scary and a road I don’t tread!

      • Jana

        Angel,
Me either. In fact I love my FATHER with all of my heart. Some people fool themselves into believing they can take the right away from us to believe in God, His Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. They don’t have that much power! And, when they come on here denoucing God, then you have to know where they are coming from. They open their mouths so to speak and it all comes out. We recognize them easily, it is called discernment.
When someone says something stupid like that, or use bad language, then I have the right to also speak up for the Lord and for Good.

However, not to be dismayed, this is God’s battle, He will handle it, and He will do it well.

JALLELUJAH, which means PRAISE BE TO GOD!

      • Angel Wannabe

Jana well said, “If God is for us, who can be against us!

      • Kate8

        Thanks, Jana. Well said.

We must remember that, just as God has His people, satan has his, as well. And the choice is our own.

To those who say there is no God I recommend Pascal’s wager
For the rest of us, we see the works of God all around us every day.
From the marvelous intricacy of a snowflake to the detail of the laws of physics which our science DISCOVERS not creates.

      • DaveH

Most scientists get their funding from Government Grants. You honestly are so naive as to think they would be unbiased? Our Founders knew that the natural inclination for Government was to grow in size, and they use their bought-and-paid-for Scientists to further that goal.
        http://www.yaledailynews.com/news/2010/sep/30/scientists-fear-funding-cliff-seek-new-funding/

      • Karolyn

Dave – Do you know any scientists? I have met some; and they would no sooner lie about a scientific fact than cut off their noses.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Actually who cares, sincerely about what you say, who cares. But anyhow, I think it was Bush, Cheney and Halliburton that created scientists to lead people like you astray. Yeah thats it, its Bush’s fault. There, I just want to beat a liberal to the punch, because Bush has got to be blamed for this by some liberal sooner or later.

      • Granny Mae

        Karolyn,

There are scientists out there that deal with theroy as though it was fact and it is presented so well that it is even printed in out text books to be taught and taken as fact ! Darwin comes to mind. Remember his theroy of evolution ! Just a theroy but taken as fact ! There are scientist nw that are finding all kinds of holes in his guess work !

        Angel,

Yes he did and he doesn’t mind screwing us one bit ! I never did like that pointy nose crook !

Peter; You are so right. One reason Climate Change is being denied is because of the Koch brothers. They have spent over $50 million in stopping climate change advocates and they haven’t been very pleasant about it. They poured $17 million into the last election to get anti-global warming folks elected. They spent $1 million in California in an attempt to defeat their clean energy legislation. This from a company (Koch Industries)who is responsible for over 300 oil spills. They are hardly guardians of our environment and aren’t too concerned for their damages.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Seriously, you use California as a bastian for clean energy? They have so much pollution out there it is staggering. The dirtiest air Ive ever seen, even worse than New Jersey over the dump. California hasnt a clue of how to do anything, if they did, they wouldnt be in debt up to their adams apples, and the federal government wouldnt be stealing money from all us other states and shipping it to them to try to bail them out. And if they had a clue, they sure as hell would not be electing people like Barbara Boxer and Nancy Pelosi, let alone the Terminator. Gimme a break.

      • Dan Holt

Wacker falls back on the old standard “the vast majority of scientists agree goobal warming is real” when it is untrue. The global warming crowd wants to close the debate with their position winning by default. The fact is that the IPCC, which has directed the global warming scare is composed mainly of non-scientists. The Oregon Petition Project is comprised of actual scientists that were opposed to the IPCC report, claiming it did not reflect the views of the scientists that had been asked to submit papers on climate change. Many of their papers said climate was changing but whether or not man made actions had any appreciable effect was questionable. THey also pointed out that much of the report was falsified, such as the “hockey stick” graph. The Oregon Petition Project has over 30,000 climate scientists supporting its opposition to the IPCC. To me that’s more than just a few. Also, the director of the IPCC at East Angliana has admitted cherry picking data and stiffling opposing data in order to support the man-made warming theory. He has also admitted there is no evidence of rising temperatures over the past 15 years. Climate change is real. It occurs in cycles and is natural. THere is plenty of evidence to support that. I suggest Wacker read the book “Fire, Ice and Paradise” before making anymore statements like the one he just made.

You are so wrong about NO GOD, Sure don’t want to be in YOUR shoes come judgement day. When GOD says go away and he means to HELL. You all believe in a sick god. all the mudering dictators,of this world.cant hold a candle to your sick god. to burn his creation,he claims he loves, and concidered at one point,ALL GOOD!! before he unleashed this evil,in the form of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.because he wanted his creation to have the choice to follow him or not, cause he couldnt decide if he wanted them to choose to worship him or not.IS JUST PLAIN SICK!!! Thats what ruthless dictators do. they love you,if you love them.but that wont stop them from killing you,if they feel its for a good cause.should i say…THEIR CAUSE. and if you disagree with them…THEN YOUR DEAD!!! they will make you SUFFER. but your god is worse, than any dictator that has ever lived. he makes those, that choosed(based on the free will that was given to them)not to follow him.what ever reasons they have, for not believing.suffer for all eternity.BUT HE PLANNED ALL OF THIS IN THE BEGINING!!! regardless of what you christians say.he knew what was going to happen, before it ever happens.HE’S GOD!!!! he knows all and sees all!!!! so he knew this.cause he planned this.SO THAT MAKES HIM THE SOURCE OF ALL EVIL.

      • Teresa

Yes God is real, yes he gave us a choice to come freely. Is sad to hear the hate in your heart. Will be even sader if you keep choosing to deny God. I will pray for you and all the ones who don’t believe, even the ones who hate me…know why…cause the Lord told me to and is my free will! You see, you don’t get it. You will never find peace with yourself. You hear the word christian and you assume everyone should act accordingly…not everyone is the same…everyone is different and has their own personal contract w/God. There is no book of instructions handed to a individual, they ea. have different struggles and trials and God leads that individual down their own path. Even you are in Gods plan rather you like it or acknowledge it or not. You can hate me and every christian around, but we love you, not for you, but for us and God and for your soul.

      • DaveH

        Sean,
I can’t say there aren’t evil religions, but I certainly haven’t seen that from Christians. I have not known any Christians who want to force their way on me, but I have known plenty of Liberals who do want to force their way on me. I am Atheist, but I would prefer to pal around with Christians anyday over Liberals. Liberals are Forcers and Thieves. At least the Christians are trying to be moral.

      • Angel Wannabe

        Teresa__ wonderfully said!!!

      • DaveH

In fact, Sean, Liberalism is nothing more than a religion. Its followers accept on faith doctrines that have been proven by experience not to work in country after country. Take the blinders off, Sean. Learn some real economics from Mises.org, or Reason.org, or Cato.org. Quit sweltering in your Liberal Ignorance.

      • Angel Wannabe

DavH, Well said, I’m the kind of Christian that’ll talk about my Faith if someone wants to, but I won’t choke you with it. On the same token, I don’t want someone keeping me from bowing my head in prayer, or holding my hand over my heart, to say the Pledge to Alligence. I think We can all believe what we believe and get along, if each of us just be respectful.

      • Karolyn

For a different concept of God, read Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsch. It is far different than the view Christians have of God.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

No, your walking in the dark with Satan, and when you live your life that way, and you tell God you want nothing to do with Him all your life, when you die here on Earth, the all Loving and Powerful Almighty God, will give you your hearts desire, and send you to a place where He will never bother you again. So how can you call that hate, when He is giving you what you have always asked for? He will, give us all, the desires of our heart, and we either desire Him, or we desire to be without Him. The choice is yours pal. But dont you label God as something He is not. He is all loving, to the point where He gives us free will to do as we want, without forcing Himself on us. But you forget. He is the creator. We are the creation. When has the clay pot the potter is making, ever looked up to the potter and told Him what to make of it? No, the potter decides what to make of the pot. Our creator will decide, what to do with us, by giving us the desires of our heart. You desire to reject Him, to say he doesnt exist, to deny Him, to want to live without Him, hey great for you. Just be prepared, that on judgment day, He will give you the desires of your heart, and He will send you to a place where you will never hear His name again. If thats what you want, just keep on keeping on. If not, you better start investigating, because there is a lot your missing out on brother. A whole lot.

who and sean, You simply have no understanding of who God is. And it’s not something anyone can tell you. We all have to find it for ourselves.

It is not your fault. You have been damaged by a Godless world. It is sad that so many will soon perish because of lack of understanding…”My people perish for lack of knowledge”…

      • DaveH

        Who Cares?
The only haters I have experienced are the Liberals who want to help themselves to the money of others, and who want to force their agenda on the rest of us.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

God doesnt see in shapes and colors and sizes like you refer to. That is your sin that does that. Understand that. That is from you and man, not from God. God doesnt care where you are from, what color you are, what sex you are, how tall or short or skinny or fat. He could care less. And you cant work your way into heaven and you cant pray your way into heaven, and you cant have other people pray your way into heaven. And you cant out sin heaven. You see, you dont go to hell for being a murderer. Or a gay, or a thief, or a liar, or an adulterer, or anything. You got to hell for what you dont do. And that is failure to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. For to inherit heaven, thats all there is to it, ask Jesus Christ into your life. Thats it. There is nothing you can do to get, its already been done when He spread his arms on the cross, and said I love you this much, and took the nails for you, and I , and for all. Thats it. Wont you come join us, and have your eyes opened so you may see, and your ears opened so you may hear. And yes, it really happens pal. It happened to me in 1990. And yes, now I see, and now I hear. I had read that before and didnt understand it at all. But once I invited Him into my life, it all changed. Now I do see, and I do hear, and I do understand. I wish this for everyone. And its nothing you can hear in a church, or hear on TV, or hear from a person. Its a one on one relationship that God desires for us to have with Him, when He bridged the gap between Himself and us with Jesus Christ. Test Him in this. Call out and ask Him to reveal Himself to you. Invite Him in your life. I know I was once on your side of the fence, and I wont go back over there. Yes, the grass truly is greener on the other side. Try it out. What have you got to lose, besides your soul?

who cares: Like I said…you judge All Christrians by the likes of a few hypocrites….
We do not USE God…HE USES US TO HIS WILL…You need to learn the difference.
I will challenge you…do you have children? If so, and your child was in danger (a matter of life or death)…and you have an athiest standing on ea. side of your childs bed, the doctor asks which of you will be willing to save this child…who do you think will offer to save your child, even w/o knowing your child? Or if someone came into a store and attacked you and your family, who do you think would be willing to die, not even knowing you or your family? A christian already knows where their soul will go.
How do you think we as christians feel KNOWING God sent his only son here to die for ALL our sins!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

So if I went by your thinking, back when Paul in the Bible was Saul, and he used to go around killing Christians and perscuting the church, that I should hate him and all non-believers, instead of exposing the word of God to them, that they may be changed as Paul was, and then live a life of service to people, doing great things, as Paul truly did. That is the difference here, between you and I. You are looking for a reason to hate and attack God and ALL His followers, and Im looking for a way in to show some Love and Mercy that God has to any unbeliever who truly would like a better and more rewarding life. You offer hate, indifference and chastizement, and I offer you a chance to find the One who can bring you love, peace, joy, and everlasting life. And I will continue to offer anyone who wants it, a chance to find these good things. I highly suggest you be kinder to your fellow man also, and lift them up instead of attacking them and tearing them down. I dont have to explain to you just where that kind of behavior comes from. And you know what Im saying.

      • Peter Wacker

As a group, the people with the least belief in god are Nobel Prize winning scientists. I’m proud to be part of that group and not an ignorant red neck who believes everything on this moronic web site.

      • Karolyn

Peter – From what I hear, there are more and more scientists coming over to the idea that there is a higher power, if you will.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Science has spent billions trying and trying to prove evolution Mr. Wacker, all to no avail. To no avail. And they have spent billions trying to disprove God, all to no avail. It cant be done, either way. Do you believe in Nero? How about Julius Caesar? Youve probably heard of them. You know, the old story how Nero fiddled while Rome burned. Well there are factual evidence with manuscripts reflecting these guys names. And there are more than 10 times the amount of historical handwritten documents reflecting Jesus Christ and His encounters with people while he was here. So the evidence is there, and it also is evident in my life, as I am a totally different person since I have accepted Him as my Saviour, and His Holy Spirit has made residence in me. And now I see and now I hear. And yes sir, He is real. I truly hope one day you feel the need to invite Him in, because Ill tell you what. He is standing over you right now, with His arms wide open just waiting for your invitatation. But He wont force Himself on you like Satan does. Nope, He will patiently await your invitation. Think about it.

      • Pedro A Delgado

America is doing so lousy in Science and Math not because religion but because the deliberate “dumbing down” and indoctrination of the Government Schools.

Fifty years ago when Americans used to “fear The Lord” we were number one.

There is still hope if we repent and go back to The Lord and conversely if we do not, our destruction will be total as it will be our suffering.

      • Angel Wannabe

        Amen Pedro!!

      • DaveH

And, in fact, private schools turn out much more knowledgeable students than do public schools, which no doubt is why the Liberals fight so hard against voucher systems. They hate free choice because they know they will lose to it.

      • Angel Wannabe

Your right DaveH, My husband went to four year old kindergarden. By the time he got to public school at fifth grade, he way wasy ahead of the other kids.

      • Angel Wannabe

daveH,__ and by the way I type sometimes, It looks as if I’ve never learned to spell at all!!!___

      • DaveH

Angel, don’t worry about that. I’m not the spelling police. I make plenty of mistakes myself.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

It wasnt so much different back in my day, but Ill tell you, in the last 30 years, what with the liberals getting ahold of the schools and trying to indoctrinate children into their line of thinking instead of teaching them, and since they have removed all discipline from schools, and kick God to the curb, its like a free for all. I still remember going with my kids where the parents sit in the class room, and I couldnt believe what Im seeing. Kids passing around packs of gum, writing notes, and not just sneaking them to each other, handing the whole stinking tablet, then that girl would write her response and they would pass it back across the room to her. I couldnt believe it. As the teacher spoke, other kids in the room were talking to each other, oblivious to the teacher, and evident the teacher oblivious to them. Then when I saw this in class after class, year after year, it is no wonder we are falling further and further behind in education to other countries. And private schools, they make their money actually teaching your kids. And if the dont do a good job, they are replaced by someone else who will. And the children are expected to be on time, and act in a responsible, respectful manner, and all this has been lost in public schools. But like anything else the government runs, it become broken after awhile of being miss ran. And its sad. And their solution is to keep dumping millions after millions into it, and that is the wrong, wrong approach. Finally, here in Indiana, Governor Daniels has said no more. He set them a budget, and told them to live within it, and thats the way its going to be. I suggest other states do as much, and maybe they will start paying attention to things, as heads start to roll as the administrators now arent assured of having more and more money dumped in.

        Peter Wacker,
Your name could have easily been quacker, however it is certain that you are wacked. You have a day for you, it is fool’s day that being the first of April every year. You will come to regret your arrogance against the Almighty God. There is no man made global warming, there is but fools that proclaim it. The scripture is clear your supposed warming will not be the end, JESUS CHRIST returning in the sky will bring the end and the fools will be dealt with according to their folly. END OF STORY………

        Amen Carl E.D!

Man made Global warming is a sham to fleece the richer nations of their money and as a tool for power and control. Humans only produce 1% of the gases that contribute to so called global warming. The majority is H2O in the atmosphere. Humans don’t even make a dent in this carbon problem, which by the way is necessary for the survival for all species on the Earth to survive.

      • Vicki

True but one will never loose money betting on the hubris of man.

      • Karolyn

Are you a scientist? Have you read both sides?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

What actual global scientists have found Karolyn, if your interested in the truth at all, is all these green house gases that Al Gore kept trying to say are man made, and we need to buy all this green technology so he can become a billionaire, are for the majority caused by evaporation of the oceans, rising up into the atmosphere. Now we could always make a giant tarp and cover the oceans up, but I dont see that as being to practical dear, do you? Man cannot cause the planet to heat up. Its just not true, and it has be proven that Al Gore’s boys all lied to work people into a frenzy, as Al Gore and GE and a few other companies had it all set up for them to make a killing, at the expense of all of us, including you Karolyn. Including you. Dont fall for what you hear on the news. Study it, check it out, let a little time pass, and see how they lied. Most all decisions made in haste because a few people said something, always end in a bad way.

      • Vicki

        Karolyn says:
“Are you a scientist? Have you read both sides?”

        Yes and Yes.

      • Vicki

        Beberoni says:
“What actual global scientists have found Karolyn, if your interested in the truth at all, is all these green house gases that Al Gore kept trying to say are man made, and we need to buy all this green technology so he can become a billionaire, are for the majority caused by evaporation of the oceans, rising up into the atmosphere.”

To be a little more specific, Al Gore and Co. want to regulate CO2 emissions. Though it is true that CO2 is released from the oceans it is H20 (Dihydrogen Monoxide) that is by far the largest percentage greenhouse gas. The CO2 released by the ocean tends to be a response to global warming rather than a cause of global warming.

Real, my butt. Anybody who wants to see the political nature of Global Warming can get lots of information from this website:

Or read one of many books that exposes Homogenic Global Warming for what it is – Junk Science and a political tool used by the Greens to force their alternative energies down our throats. There are several by Chris Horner and other authors.

It mentions a Professor Rancourt who say he no longer believes in global warming because he believes there are greater threats. Then this same man says,”The most destructive force on the planet is power driven financiers and profit driven corporations and cartels backed by military might” I couldn’t have said it better, thanks for the link.

Here’s a site I just found that has both sides. (laypersons as well as scientists.) http://www.takeonit.com/question/5.aspx

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Look into what kind of scientists they are. Enough said.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Here are the people on the site Karolyn listed. Those who say global warming does not exist, are much more qualified. Look at their titles. Roy Spence, meteorologist, S. Fred Singer, Expert in Astro Physics, Jasper Kirby – Particle Physicist, B.P. Radhakrishna – Geologist, David Kerr – Geologist, Robert Carter – Marine Geophysical Professor and Tom Segalstad, Geology Professor. These guys study this stuff. Now here is the list of those guys who say there is global warming. Wallace Beeker – Climate Scientist, the guy who coined the phrase “Global Warming”. He is how he starts his argument – “the present cooling change”. Isnt that something. M. Oppenheimer – Physics professor. Ian Enting – Physics Professor, J. Rohm – Physicist, S.Chu – U.S. Energy Secretary, M. Schermer – Scientist. Then of course, it brings in the real authoritys on this, as those who hold that there is global warming, they drop the names of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore and John McCain. Now notice the titles of the first set of scientists, those that are actual geologists and particle and astro physicists. Note the second group, who seem mostly to be college professors that teach their thoughts. Kind of revealing to me.

Religion? The religion that renders American students 24th and 21st in math/science is called UNIONISM.

Global warming? It’s the idea of a man-made global warming emergency that people don’t buy…and you’d better re-check how many climate scientists would bet their jobs and credibilty on it at this point.

Journalism degree? Is that supposed to bestow superior intelligence or honesty or patriotism? You might do some checking on Americans’ current view of the journalism profession.

      • Karolyn

“people” don’t buy? How do you know? Have you done a study?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Because Karolyn, studies have shown over 75 percent of people are not buying into this crap, which even includes a lot of your left wing liberal brothers.

I have an *IDEA*, if the czars and Obama and the rest of the GREENIES, would just sit down SHUT up Take a really *DEEP* breath and HOLD it, WE will tell them WHEN to breathe out, if we get around to it in a year or two. PROBLEM SOLVED.
      GOD BLESS AMERICA

      • Angel Wannabe

Hey sylviam, in two years of holding they’re breath, by then they REALLY WOULD BE GREEN!!!__lol

      • who cares

why is it with you low level thinkers to invoke god at the same time your being hateful and detrying gods earth?

      • Angel Wannabe

who cares__ I’d probably respond more to you, but honestly it’s not worth the effort!

      • DaveH

I haven’t yet read an intelligent statement in your comments, Who. And you think you are a thinker? No wonder the Liberal agenda is so useless.

      • Jana

To me Who Cares sounds like a Muslim, or from another country. Certainly not intelligent enough to be an American.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I have done nothing to destroy God’s green earth. I take pretty remarkable care of it myself. I dont litter, I drive a Honda CRV with great gas mileage, and I only heat my house to 68 in the winter. I dont litter, and I get on them that do. But if my neighbor wants to drive his Chevy Avalance across the country to California and back, and he can afford the gas to do it, hey, more power to him. It’s not hurting a thing. Now when guys in your corner start crying global warming and they burn up the fuel like Al Gore does to heat and cool his larger that it needs to be house, and he flies across the country all the time, then jumps in his limo, and burns more fuel in one day than I can in 10 years, well then son, we got us a hippocrite on our hands now dont we? And its called the liberal left. They want us all to do this and that, and yet they dont lead by example and do it themselves. Au contrare, they burn energy and burn it and burn it, and leave a carbon footprint 1000 times what 100 of us together could make. Yeah, its like that, and I for one have a problem with people who would blindly follow idiots like that. Color me stupid, but Im just saying……………

      • Eric Bischoff

        Who cares.
DaveH, Vicki, Angel, Jana, JefH all back each other up. They have no facts they shop at the same places for propaganda and when you feed them facts that completely contradict what they just spewed out they can’t have a rational discussion, they are not interested in learning anything. That’s when they resort to insults and childish comments. They are so immature it’s scary.

    • who cares

If you believe one fouth of john myers misinfo the you must live in a field of dreames. john gets pay good money to pass misinformation. oil conpany know your gullible. you folks are low level thinkers not saying your dumb just misinformed. hows the weather?

      • DaveH

You can’t even construct a literate sentence, Who. And you have the gall to criticize the intelligence of others?

      • Vicki

Cool and sunny. Thanks for asking.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

john gets pay good money? Dude, they got school’s for you.

    • Peter

I knew this article would display so much blind stupidity it would set me off! It doesn’t matter what you call it, climate change, global warming etc. It doesn’t even matter whether you believe in it or not. The simple fact remains that pollution from carbon monoxide is a massive problem worldwide, and nowhere wore so then the good ol’ USA!
The second thing is, if you’re too stupid to research the unbelievably large amount of damage and primary pollution (at the scene of extraction) oil sands production directly causes, you should not be making comment, because you don’t know what you’re talking about! Fact! Oil sands extraction is the least efficient, highest primary polluting method of oil harvesting. Fact!
It is doing a massive amount of damage in Canada, and directly causing vastly disproportionate levels of pollutant-based illness in the populations who live in close proximity, and yes, they were there first. All this just so the USA can drive a little further for a little longer, and not have to rely on good ol’ US ingenuity to come up with a cleaner, better system of transportation. Pfft!
Human beings cannot continue to defecate in our backyards and expect the poop not to rise! Oh well, I probably used too many big words for most of the folks who ‘write’ here.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Lets say your right about this. How much pollution is caused, when they drill in Saudi Arabia and the middle east, then pump it into tanks, then pump it into tanker ships, then have those ships sail around the world, then pump the oil out into tanks, then pump the oil out of tank into trucks, then have the trucks drive across the country to deliver it. So how much pollution is being made, shipping it around the world, versus having it here and eliminating all that burnt up fossil fuel? Just wondering.

      • Peter

I made no claim about any other form of oil extraction, but I have read up on the oil sands extraction methods, and they are by far the most directly polluting, Decades ago they wouldn’t have been touched because they would have been untenable under older market structures, but now? Desperate times mean desperate measures, and apparently the attitude is, “screw anyone who gets in our way,” because nobody appears to be caring not just for the Canadian environment, but for the people whose lives are directly and very negatively impacted by that pollution. If it were in your backyard and making you and your kids sick, you’d be screaming blue murder. But the Canadian govt is so thickly in cahoots with the oil companies, they’re doing their utmost to whitewash the whole mess.

    • Eric Bischoff

AngelWannabe go ahead and have a good puke. You are toxic. You’ll feel better after you do.

  • http://none Mike

Jhon if only the will prevails and these folks dont buckel to the greenies in their own party it might have a chance. Mike L.
