The End of "Olbermania"

November 9, 2010 by

The End of "Olbermania"

With the exception of the occasional troll who bumbles onto our message boards, liberals are few and far between here in the enlightened empire of the Personal Liberty Digest. Therefore, something tells me the number of Bob Livingstonians who bemoaned the indefinite suspension (which NBC has since announced would end today) of MSNBC’s reigning rant-meister Keith Olbermann is lower than the number of transgender census takers working the northwestern Montana survivalist compounds.

As a result, something tells me an NFL-sized crowd is going to object when I say:

MSNBC was wrong to give Keith Olbermann the hook.

To be sure: Olbermann is a supercilious, simpering sleazebag. From his first steps on the national stage as Dan Patrick’s gal Friday on ESPN, to his now-toes-up tenure as the Democrat Party’s high priest of hate on GE’s liberal propaganda outlet, Olbermann has never risen above the minimal standards expected of the shrieking lunatics infesting the mainstream media.

But when did that become a source of concern for MSNBC?

Just days after National Public Radio — the Democrat party’s radio division — gave Juan Williams his walking papers for expressing his opinion, MSNBC announced they were suspending Olbermann indefinitely for donating money to political campaigns in violation of NBC policy. In fact, Olbermann gave the $2,400 maximum to Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) the same day Grijalva appeared as a guest on his Countdown program.

Olbermann evidently failed to report his donations to management, a clear violation of that policy. But Olbermann has been spewing Democrat talking points for seven years; it seems odd that NBC would suddenly decide ethics are important at a network which employs not only a tinfoil hat brigadier like Olbermann, but Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow and Ed Schultz, none of whom possessed journalistic integrity from the start. As for the donations, Olbermann has been the most partisan commentator on cable news for more than half of the last decade. What has the aggregate monetary value of his shameless shilling for liberals been during that period?

To be fair, Olbermann’s financial largesse merely reminded us that he’s a hypocrite. Of course, he’s a liberal commentator, so calling him a hypocrite is like saying the earth is round, or that Joy Behar is an idiot.

According to the free-market economic principles most sincerely NOT espoused by the journalism school factory seconds on MSNBC, the network has the right to send Olbermann packing for violations of his contract, common sense or even common decency.

But why start now? If NBC’s reasoning is that Olbermann’s high-volume vituperation is detrimental to MSNBC’s flat-lining ratings, then I would counter that Olbermann has been chained to the network’s stern since 2003. On many nights, the entirety of the MSNBC primetime sideshow can’t equal the ratings for a single episode of Olbermann’s nemesis, Bill O’Reilly on Fox News.

If their concern is a lack of credibility, then they should lock all four of their primetime anchors in the clown car and push it down to the Daily Kos parking lot. Matthews’s election night “interview” with Michelle Bachmann was so overtly partisan and hostile that it embarrassed even Maddow.

Maddow recently slandered former Rep. Steve Stockman, falsely claiming he had advance knowledge of the Oklahoma City bombing. When she was caught in the lie, she offered the weakly transparent excuse of “an editing error.” She lied — and her excuse was thinner than the poor guy behind Schultz in the line at the MSNBC commissary. As for Schultz himself; in the run-up to Scott Brown’s victory in January’s Massachusetts Senatorial special election, Schultz offered his take:

“…if I lived in Massachusetts I’d try to vote 10 times…Yeah, that’s right. I’d cheat to keep these bastards out. I would…”

And the powers that be at America’s least-watched cable news network are concerned about their ethics? If the indefinite suspension of Olbermann is an effort by MSNBC to reclaim journalistic integrity, I’d say that they’re national debt-late and Janet Napolitano-short. And now that Olbermann’s science project, the ridiculous Maddow, is the de facto face of the network, the effort to boost MSNBC out of “fat kid at the Olympic trials” position in the news ratings is deader than Olbermann’s career.

MSNBC decided to snuggle up with liberalism’s lunatic fringe long ago. It was their right to terminate their own credibility, just like it’s my right to watch something more compelling — like “Not Without My Daughter IV — Sharia’s Revenge” on Lifetime.

While I — and everyone with an IQ higher than Play-Doh — recognize that Olbermann and his MSNBC mouth-breathers for the intellectual dandruff they are, allow me to make a suggestion: Keep Olbermann on MSNBC. Then change the channel.

  • Carlucci

You are 100% correct, Ballpeen. Good on ya!

  • http://www.fromthepublicsquare.com Erica Stuart

Mr. Livingstone: while I don’t always agree with you I read your newsletter with due consideration that people disagree but that does not make most of them irrational. I assumed that, unlike propagandist, you applied your criticism fairly to all as a matter of principle. This article fully changed my mind, not about what you said about Olberman, he has changed since the death of his father with his rather unfitting reading of books, but Olberman has stoop up where other, even Hardball, kept silent. Olberman has supported necessary activities like the Free Clinics and similar effort I have so ofter written about urging Obama to embrace those activities that serve the truly and urgently needy.
That said, however, this is not the reason for my reaction to your article where you descended to the same level as common vicious
propaganda. May I remind you that had you included Fox news in your criticism I would give your article due respect and attention, as it stands I cannot rely on them for facts and rational analysis. Fox News and their admired Internet WND and those writers of fast money books they wrote, makes those underground papers of the Vietnam time counter culture a better option.
If you have applied your judgment to Fox etc. as you have to Olberman I apologize.

    • JeffH

Erica Stuart, if you wanted to be so accurate with your assesment of this article, I would suggest you go back and read who the author was.
Secondly, the author was giving his well founded opinions, specifically about Olberman, MSNBC and the host of liberal suck-up commentators with their love of anything to the left of, say, California.
Thought you might appreciate some help there.

      • eddie47d

You’re the one who needs help Jeff. “well rounded opinion” You have really fallen off the cliff into fairyland. Spread some more pixie dust you simpleton.

      • JeffH

Heh heh you big dummy! “well ROUNDED opinion”? Stupid is as stupid does fits you well. fast eddiot, it’s apparent you still can’t comprehend what you read.

      • JeffH

        Definition for simpleton
        - an offensive term for somebody regarded as lacking intelligence or common sense

That definition sounds remarkably like someone called “eddie47d”! Ya think?

      • Dan az

        So edieeeeee
I thought you said that you work for a living? How is it that you can come here and harass us in the afternoon on tue.?

      • http://?? Joe H.

        JeffH,
Erica got it right! She said Olberman has STOOP up. I can only take it that she means he is so used to kissing something quite low that even when he stands he still is stooped over!!!

    • Jeep

When perusing an article, does not “due consideration” presuppose bias? And, when pontificating in the blogosphere, does this not also presuppose a particular predilection?

Okay, Erica, for those who may be unable to translate…it sounds like you are liberal biased, and you are on a Conservative leaning website, sooo….why are you surprised that the author might conclude that a liberal hack is, well…a liberal hack?

  • jopa

Wow I did not realize there were so many Olberman viewers on this site.I know there will be the caveman who will come out and say “Who is Keith Olberman”?But one more fact about the ratings is MSNBC is not on basic cable and you have to pay a little extra for the good stuff.I am sure he will be thrilled to know he has viewers like you.

  • Ballpeen

Yes, Olberman is worthless as a journalist. So is Glenn Beck. So is Rachel Maddow. So is Bill O’Reilly. Guess what? Every single talking head on every single channel is a joke. And when you watch them, or repeat them, or get angry at them, you become the punchline. All of these people, every single one of them, is engaging in an age-old tactic, divide and conquer. They convince you that your own countrymen are your enemies, that your ideas are incompatible with the other side, and that they are just a humble spokesperson for good and decency. The truth is, is that Keith Olberman represents the bulk of liberal thought about as well as Beck represents conservatives, RuPaul represents women, Flavor-Flav represents black people, and Jeffrey Dahmer represents middle-class suburbia. Love your country? Talk to the people who make it up. Find some common ground with your neighbours, coworkers, acquaintances, and friends. Stop wasting time and energy attacking or defending charlatans who would rape Washington’s corpse on-air if there was a decent ratings share in it.

    • eddie47d

Thank You,Too many talk show hosts are nothing but arrogant charlatans, and there are plenty on both sides. They don’t give the news they shred it. I think most Americans will swing back to the mainstream media where they can think for themselves and form their own opinions. Msnbc and Fox think in terms of left or right and the middle is gutted out.

    • Bob Wire

Ballpeen, LOL! you are funny ! and very accurate with your assessment. Thanks for weighing in.

    • vicki

We found common ground. The Democrats passed health care reform including forcing us at gunpoint to buy insurance just cause we breath the air. Looks alot like the Jizya (poll or head tax) Islam charges the dhimmi (Christians and Jews living in submission to Islam).
      http://www.churchisraelforum.com/the_dhimmi_jews_and_christians_under_islam.htm

      • vicki

hmmm. missed a word. should have read
“The Democrats passed health care reform ANYWAY”

    • http://?? Joe H.

      Ballpeen,
At least Becks facts can be checked and verified!! And not on just conservative sites either!!! To make the likes of Olberman, Couric, and Laurer look bad is easy. We don’t have to resort to the underhanded, factless, and gutless attack that a certain website tried after Glenn Beck exposed Van Jones for being a communist!!

  • 2WarAbnVet

Big whoop, the Obermann suspension lasted two days.

  • marvin

you know if we all where liberal we go nuts for lack of someone to blame, liberals all have foot and mouth disease open mouth insert foot,

  • Carlucci

I cannot stand any of them on any network. They are all highly paid hacks as far as I’m concerned. Bill O’Reilly is an immature arrogant ass with no manners who is always interrupting people, especially people he disagrees with. Yes, I agree – the loony left is totally nuts and full of crap, but they should be allowed to speak because when they do they just show how relentlessly stupid they are. I gave up on Fox when Hannity wouldn’t allow a woman defendant who emerged victorious in a court case with the IRS to talk about it. The “interview” was obviously a set up and a shake down. Hannity (I call him “Nannity”) kept interrupting and belittling his “guest”, because God knows, Hannity was/is a major brown-noser for the so called “conservative” establishment Bush administration/status quo, and had to keep the lie alive about the IRS. Ah yes….can’t get people wondering about one of the biggest frauds ever perpetrated against the American people. I don’t trust ANYONE who advocates for the status quo 2-headed-one-party system who are in bed with the Wall Street gang of criminals. The worthless incumbent Republicans were using the Tea Party to get a leg up and stay in their cushy government jobs. Why doesn’t anyone see that? It is so obvious.

    • JeffH

Carlucci says: “The worthless incumbent Republicans were using the Tea Party to get a leg up and stay in their cushy government jobs. Why doesn’t anyone see that? It is so obvious.”

Gee Calucci, I seem to recall that the Republican Party incumbents have had a BIG PROBLEM with the interfering Tea Party and vise-versa…so tell me how the “worthless incumbents” are using the Tea Party again?

  • Tom from Idaho

Warrior, We can just laugh. Olberman is like the comedy show that was taken off the air for using obscenities and then is brought back – - to try to up the networks’ ratings. I believe that is what MSNBC is hoping. Like in the newspaper business – - conttroversy sells copy, right? Um, probably not this time! I ditto the sentiments of the others in that we need ‘ol Keithy boy in order to expose the lies of the left.

  • Warrior

LOL Ben – this tool was lousy as a sports broadcaster. A demotion to political commentator speaks volumes about NBC.

      objective in a subjective sense.

No one ever watches this hack anyway unless it is a yellow dog dopeocrat from the east coast where they are all brain dead from the lying New York Times!

  • Bob Wire

I like FOX, but allow me to qualify. ~ Some of them and some of their features. But I refuse to endorse FOX or any National programing parcel and sum as that would be most foolish and would be validation I am a fool.

    • Conservative at Birth

      Which parts of FOX?

      • Bob Wire

Much of it really, ~ sets, color, personalities, Fox is more pleasing to the eye ~ and they say what people like to hear. What I really like is that they “STOPPED” stepping on each others dialogue. ~ I hate it when three people are trying to talk at once. In the run up to 08 general election FOX was very bad about this.

It is now MSNBC that practices this awful habit of everyone speaking at once. It’s very disorganized chat! approaches frenzy.

but I’ve all but quit watching the tube since July of this year with the exception of last weeks midterms. Appears little has changed.

So ~ I’m not current or a devout viewer of any, have been put off by them all at one point or another.

    Welcome back Mr. Olbermann,
The only truth can be found on your journalist program.
    Fox and Fools are LIARS.
RepubliCorp (the 3% billionaires) have duped people making under 250k per year into making the rich more money on the backs of the 97% of the middle class.
The have amnesia from the Bush Cheney rip off and are doomed to repeat it because of their racism and bigotry.
    *********************************************************

    jake ,,You talk about bigotry…
A bigot is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one exhibiting intolerance, irrationality, and animosity toward those of differing beliefs.

look at the way you act about FOX,,,,Republicans,,,Bush and Cheney,,,What the hell does it make you ???

    • vicki

Another typical sign of a bigot is that they do not see it in themselves.
I notice that jake calls Fox liars alot but fails to offer any evidence let alone proof.

  • TOCB

As one of those “lefties” I support Olberman 100%. He said he was not aware of NBC’s policy concerning political contributions. I don’t have a problem with companies using discipline to support rules and policies. So, I am ok with a limited suspension. I must say however, that Olberman on his worst day is at least a million times more truthful than those clowns on Fox “News”.

    • CJ

TOCB, thanks for coming on here. Your comments constantly remind us how much we NEED Fox news and their likes. You will either see the light, or subcome to the downward spiral of the left’s agenda. Your choice.

    • Jeep

      Opinion noted….and, dismissed.

    • vicki

I’ve watched Fox and tried to watch Olbermann. I really had trouble with his crass attempts at ridicule and humor so I moved on.

  • Bob Wire

“To be fair, Olbermann’s financial largesse merely reminded us that he’s a hypocrite. Of course, he’s a liberal commentator, so calling him a hypocrite is like saying the earth is round, or that Joy Behar is an idiot.”

To be fair, ? You are inferring all progressives are hypocrites. And that’s fair to you?

Olermann is a little to rich for my taste and often pious retort too much for me to swallow down but he is the alter ego that has been offered as a counterweight to offset the likes of Glenn Beck and Flush Plumbob. ~ I don’t approve of them either. He is affective and exposes more hypocrite then he himself is guilty of.

I was wondering when Cooperate America would attempt to take him out.

This is only a forbearing of things to come, as things are much afoot in the Cooperate World today.

    • CJ

Bob, you can’t stand facts, can you? If you spent the time educating yourself that you use here trying to anoy us, you MIGHT learn how wrong the left has been for over 100 years. Liberalism MAY be good for a VERY short run, but at a high cost. It is not sustainable, stealing from the future to engorge the greedy in the present. It was held at bay up to the late 60′s, but now we are paying, and you refuse to see reality.

      • Bob Wire

On the contra , I enjoy “facts” data , information, anything that offers understanding , to WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, & WHY.

and you have something you wish to share? beside frivolous, pointless attacks?

      • Michael J.

        Bob Wire,
To the contrary, CJ has a point. Stealing from the future to reward the entitlement crowd in exchange for votes that enable the government elite is unsustainable.

      • Bob Wire

“Stealing from the future to reward the entitlement crowd in exchange for votes that enable the government elite is unsustainable.”

I take it, ~ you are excluding tax cut in your supporting banter, Micheal J.?

Yes! CJ has a point and I’d enjoy seeing him develop it into something we could discuss. Entitlement is a wonderful place to start.

      • Michael J.

        Bob Wire,
Tax cuts? Who said anything about tax cuts? The only thing on the table right now is the avoidance of a tax hike! And while we’re at it, why not just shut down the IRS and the Fed? This larcenous and vile symbiosis has gone on long enough!

      • Bob Wire

“Liberalism MAY be good for a VERY short run, but at a high cost. It is not sustainable, stealing from the future to engorge the greedy in the present. It was held at bay up to the late 60′s, but now we are paying, and you refuse to see reality.”

NO, you are right, I don’t see it as I look back 30 years UNLESS conservatism has been profess yet not practiced.

I see a lot of mislabeling , a lot of people wrapping themselves up in National pride and holding the cross high proclaiming to be something that they are not, failing to practice their proclamation.

Are you here to change that? If so, why should I believe you? As all others that’s came before said these same things.

      • Eric Bischoff

The left has always been held at bay, the mess we are in has nothing to do with the real left which has never governed in this country but it sure gets blamed for a lot.

    • Jeep

Bob, my friend…you expose yourself a bit too much with comments like, “Olermann is a little to rich for my taste…” So, what is your definition of too rich? The same as the prez? Do you really disdain capitalism so much? Don’t bother answering, at this point you can only spin your own words, kind of like Olberman does. Class envy is very unproductive, but a well used tool of the left.

      • Bob Wire

unworthy response, try again. Jeep, I am a private independent business man.

      • vicki

Who is obviously rich enough for his own taste.

      • Bob Wire

left to only say, much like yourself, Keith is too crass for his own good and polarizes every time he opens his mouth.

      • Jeep

Bob, I only meant to show you, in your own words, that the agenda you follow is…well, wrong. If you are indeed an “independent business man”, then I would suppose that you are already feeling the sting of this administrations policies. That is if you are successful. But, you seem to dismiss success as “too much” (your words). Therefore, I am left to conclude, in my “crass” manner, that you are either not successful or truthful.

      • Jeep

BTW, isn’t “unworthy response, try again” liberal speak for, “I don’t have an answer…so, just shut up…” I’m just sayin’.

      • vicki

Passing wind in Olbermann’s direction would exceed reasonable recognition of this pukes presence. Talking about him is (IMHO) a waste of text.

  • Michael J.

Welcome back Mr. Olbermann, poster boy of the far, far left. Constitutional conservatives need the likes of Olbermann, Matthews, Maddow and Schultz to ward off our own complacency. We need their current talking points in order to gauge their momentum and direction, which allows us to form a viable offense against it. Carry on MSNBC.

    • Conservative at Birth

      Who actually watches MSNBC?

      • DavidL

College graduates watch MSNBC. Those who just graduated HS, or dropped out, watch FOX.

I wonder if many of the “conservative/Republicans” who write on this site would be screaming about free speech and First Amendment rights, if those who made political contributions working on FOX were fired? Oh, wait a minute, FOX would close down. Fair and balanced? It’s not a news organization. It’s the main political arm of the Republican party.

I can’t wait to read the comments of support and rationalization here after the deficit cutting republican/tea party/conservative “leaders” vote to raise the debt ceiling to over 14 trillion dollars, (increasing the deficit), repeal the new health reform law (increasing the deficit over 100 billion), and vote to reduce the taxes on the wealthiest among us and thereby increase the deficit another 700 billion. ALL ACHIEVED BY BORROWING MORE MONEY FROM CHINA! Conservative? Responsible?

      • Michael J.

        DavidL,
So what you are saying is that college graduates with a degree in socialism are the only ones who can appreciate MSNBC? You may be right, these unaware victims of indoctrination would be prone to following that which is familiar to them. That’s one of the traits of brainwashing, as we called it back in my day. Unfortunately, now it’s revered as status quo. Pitiful isn’t it, Academia churning out useful idiots that their parents don’t even recognize when they return home.

      • Warrior

It seems I missed that poll! Where does one discover that more college grads watch msnbc????? Amazing information can be found on this website.

      • DavidL

No, I’m saying that as a general matter, well educated people watch MSNBC and not as well educated people watch FOX. This is a fact. Research viewer demographics.

You can attach any political “editorial” you want (I’m not sure you mean to suggest that all college graduates are socialists) but all perspectives, yes all, indoctrinate or propagandize. The only question is how. They all have a point of view about what the world is and how it should operate.

A word about socialism: (Government controlled institution)

Which one of our socialist institutions would you eliminated?

        US military…………….Government controlled sing-payer system
        US Coastguard…………..Government controlled single-payer system
        Social Security…………Government controlled single-payer system
        Medicare……………….Government controlled single-payer system
        Police…………………Government controlled single-payer system
        Fire departments………..Government controlled single-payer system
        Public Schools………….Government controlled single-payer system
        Public Libraries………..Government controlled single-payer system

We need a single-payer health care system!!!! Here is why:

Single-payer national health insurance is a system in which a single public or quasi-public agency organizes health financing, but delivery of care remains largely private.

Currently, the U.S. health care system is outrageously expensive, yet inadequate. Despite spending more than twice as much as the rest of the industrialized nations ($8,160 per capita), the United States performs poorly in comparison on major health indicators such as life expectancy, infant mortality and immunization rates. Moreover, the other advanced nations provide comprehensive coverage to their entire populations, while the U.S. leaves 46.3 million completely uninsured and millions more inadequately covered.

The reason we spend more and get less than the rest of the world is because we have a patchwork system of for-profit payers. Private insurers necessarily waste health dollars on things that have nothing to do with care: overhead, underwriting, billing, sales and marketing departments as well as huge profits and exorbitant executive pay. Doctors and hospitals must maintain costly administrative staffs to deal with the bureaucracy. Combined, this needless administration consumes one-third (31 percent) of Americans’ health dollars.

Single-payer financing is the only way to recapture this wasted money. The potential savings on paperwork, more than $350 billion per year, are enough to provide comprehensive coverage to everyone without paying any more than we already do.

Under a single-payer system, all Americans would be covered for all medically necessary services, including: doctor, hospital, preventive, long-term care, mental health, reproductive health care, dental, vision, prescription drug and medical supply costs. Patients would regain free choice of doctor and hospital, and doctors would regain autonomy over patient care.

Physicians would be paid fee-for-service according to a negotiated formulary or receive salary from a hospital or nonprofit HMO / group practice. Hospitals would receive a global budget for operating expenses. Health facilities and expensive equipment purchases would be managed by regional health planning boards.

A single-payer system would be financed by eliminating private insurers and recapturing their administrative waste. Modest new taxes would replace premiums and out-of-pocket payments currently paid by individuals and business. Costs would be controlled through negotiated fees, global budgeting and bulk purchasing.

        DavidL,
I guess if single payer healthcare was good enough for “The Third Reich”, then it’s good enough for us.
I admit that the author of this article is very liberal with the facts, (pun intended) but you must admit to some striking parrallels therin.

Hitler Speaks to Jews about his New One Payer Healthcare Plan

[You may not have noticed the story on April 1, 2009 about German historians finding the script to Hitler’s only speech to a Jewish community. It was an election speech given in Nuremburg, just before the 1932 elections that swept the Nazi Party into power. Below are highlights from that speech.]

My dear Jewish friends and voters, as part of my campaign for hope and change, I come to you today to ask for your votes for members of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (but you can just call us Nazis).

First I want to make sure you know who we are. There have been many lies told about us—some from your own newspapers—so today I want to set the record straight.

Many of you question a party that’s led by me with my lack of experience as an elected official, but I assure you that I’ve had many years’ experience as a community organizer and activist, beginning with my Munich beer hall putsch in 1923.

Since then I’ve been organizing thousands of volunteers to help with community activities, such as getting out the vote, especially for oppressed, under-represented Aryans. You might recognize my volunteers by their distinctive brown shirts. (I got a good deal on some war surplus shirts, but I prefer purple.) I’ve been calling these volunteers my storm detachment (or SA), but I’ve been looking for a more environmentally friendly name—oh, something like ACORN.

I must warn you, if we Nazis are elected, we’ll inherit serious problems from our Republican predecessors. Just look at the hyperinflation caused by the Weimar Republic printing too many Reichsmarks. But we have all learned from this foolishness. I can promise you that the world will never again see such dummkoffs who’ll think they can stimulate the economy by spending their way out of a deficit. (Ach der lieber, what idiots!)

I also know many of you have heard the lies about me wanting to appoint my old friend Ludwig Müller as Reichs-bishop of a new Reichs-church. I can assure you that none of this is true. It is true that I’ve been a member of his church for the last 20 years when he often preached on White Liberation Theology, and he did help me find my Aryan identity, but I can assure you that I paid no attention to any of his messages and so he’ll have no effect on my leadership.

But this is all incidental. As I promised, we are the party of change you can believe in! That’s why I am here today—to announce to you my wunderbar new program, which you and the rest of the Fatherland will enjoy when you vote for Nazi candidates so I can become your new Chancellor. Heil!

Ja! Today I present to you my new single payer healthcare plan. I call it, “The Final Solution.”

All of you will be covered by it. Beautiful new treatment facilities will be built for you at such special locations as Auschwitz, Dachau und Buchenwald.

Nazi scientists are already working overtime on exciting new pharmaceuticals, such as Zyklon B, which has remarkable curative properties. And it’s excellent for removing lice.

If elected, we Nazis will immediately pass an economic stimulus package for new rail stations to provide you with free transportation to these state of the art healthcare facilities. Your future will truly be “shovel ready.” Ja, the world will see that universal healthcare truly provides cradle to grave care.

This final solution is such a wunderbar healthcare idea that I promise you that years from now other world leaders will be copying this same plan.

Our party’s goal is for all Germany to have a complete lives system in which its people grow with natural good health. We want all our citizens to have lives worth living for the next thousand years. Isn’t that what we all want for Germany?

But we need your votes to bring about this change. You can bet your life on that. Heil!

DavidL, A revolutionary and enlightening comment about who watches FOX or MSNBC…WOW! Isn’t that a typical liberal comment, something we’ve never heard before…liberals are “WELL EDUCATED” and the rest of us are undereducated. Yeah, you guys and gals are just the best educated and smartest sheep in the pen…you don’t feed from the dirty ground, you feed straight from the trough!

      • DavidL

I didn’t say anything about Liberal vs. Conservative. I said well educated and not as well educated. I am not a liberal. I am a conservative who happens to be educated.

Here is a question for you:
Which one of our socialist institutions would you eliminate?

        US military…………….Government controlled sing-payer system
        US Coastguard…………..Government controlled single-payer system
        Social Security…………Government controlled single-payer system
        Medicare……………….Government controlled single-payer system

        Fire departments………..Government controlled single-payer system
        Public Schools………….Government controlled single-payer system
        Public Libraries………..Government controlled single-payer system

      • Vicki

We have to keep in mind that “well educated” just means taught to think their way. Thus they can speak the truth without having to bother with the WHOLE truth and nothing but the truth so help me (that word they fear to utter).

        http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/well
As you can see from the many uses of the word that you can use it to say almost anything.

Certainly if I were running a school to brainwash folk and they were brainwashed successfully I could and would say that they were
        “well educated”.

That why when I promise them Hope and Change they will completely forget to ask little questions like what change? Cause they surly got change. And Obama got what radicals like those he ran around with have hoped for.

      • JeffH

Yeah, right and I’m the POTUS!

Not me. I don’t watch NBC News either or any other network news channel. But, when I do watch , I watch Fox. I don’t always agree with all their views, but it is more accurate than any of the other networks. Brian Williams and Tom Brokaw are the most hateful of all the networks. I don’t watch CNBC but I would be willing to bet they all get their news from the same source.

    • http://naver samurai

Who the heck are you calling racists and bigots? If you think for one moment that the last administration was worse then this one, you really need to get off of the kool aid. If you also think CNN, MSMBC, etc, are truthful in their reporting, then you are really uninformed about what is going on in this country these days. You remember last Tuesday when Americans voted? The people sent a message that they didn’t like the direction this country was going and voted many people out of office. As long as there are people like you out there, the good fight will never end. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

      • JC

Samurai…the less intelligent liberal socialists are still using race baiting as a vehicle to defame their detractors, whom are many.
Don’t let the morons bother you, they’re on their way out and we’ll see the beginnings of a responsible Republic taking shape soon.
They won’t go easily though…keep your powder dry.

      • Eric Bischoff

Too many people on this site are racists, bigots and mysogynists. They are also in complete denial or understanding of it.

On the topic of the last administration and who is worse. They did let 911 happen on their watch, they gutted the constitution with the Patriot Act, they lied and started preemptive wars and are responsible for the death of a half a million people and the exile of another 4 million. They are responsible for increasing our insecurity. They kidnapped, murdered, renditioned and tortured. They failed at protecting people after Katrina, they ran up our deficit, spent a fortune on useless wars and destroyed the economy and they are the ones who first bailed out the banks. The current administration is a big disappointment in that they are continuing a lot of the same practices.

On the topic of voting. I hardly would call it a mandate since only a minority of the country bothered to vote probably out of disgust and the minority that voted is clearly split. Sorry but you have to be an idiot to think that this a victory and a mandate for America.

This was orchestrated and funded by some very wealthy Billionaires as in the Koch Brothers and Rupert Murdoch. You don’t really believe that people’s donations paid for all that air time now do you.

Koch Industries responsible for 300 Oil spills in the US
Koch spends more on funding climate deniers than Exxxon does
Koch spent $48.5 Million funding climate science opposition
Koch spent $16,922,000. lobbying the 111th congress
Koch is a major player in dirtiest oil source of all, the Alberta Tar Sands

I am sure they have our best grass roots interests at heart.
        Keep on believing that.

Real American Patriots concerned about real issues…and what? You want them to hug the problem? To just open their doors to Sharia law and illegal immigration?

No way. And it’s got nothing to do with racism…its about policy and our Constitution.

Not to mention the fact that it occured the year after a censis!! 600+ seats, including state and local elections is, clearly historic! Enjoy your delusion!

      • Tom from Idaho

Samuri, Robert & J. C., Thanks for putting our friend Jake in his place. He showed his true colors in just a few brief statements – - the usual tired arguments which have become talking points for the left, they are: class envy and warfare, the race card and, of course, basing all their premeses on lies. The latter of these is the most incidious and what the lame stream press (state-run media)have done to report on a “credible” news story. When they get exposed, it is a complete embarrassment to those who have supported them and sometimes justice prevails, such as when Dan Rather was fired (finally)for his drivel.

Fox News is the only source of sanity and real news and open debate on what is happening in the world. It is thy who are about to point out the purposeful misleading of the public like Oberman. And people are starting to realize this and that is why we as a country are starting to turn around and the majority of people ignore sources such as Oberman, MSNBC and CNN and go to Fox for real honest news reporting without dictation and also open discussion from very intelligent and informed people who simple report the news without trying to indoctrinate the viewers.

Now talk about someone living on the backs of others. Im tired of the democrat voting base living off of my working back. People like you take the cake, as you refuse to get yourselves educated. Your as blind as blind can be pal. Keith Olberman is actually good for the conservative cause though, and Im glad he got his job back. I was a news junky for years. I watched them all. And one day there was a story from my area that I had some personal knowledge of and I realized how different the reporting was. The station that got it right was FOX (this was in the era of Clinton). Soon I was watching FOX the most but still tuned into the others on occasion. The last straw for me was Janine Garafalo spewing her opinion about the Tea Parties. I did not have a problem with her right to speak, my problem was that MSNBC did not give both sides.
FOX ALWAYS at least tries to give both sides – sometimes the libs won’t appear. And one other thing, people like O’Rielly, Beck and even Hannity critisized Bush when they believed he was wrong.
And let me just tell you one more thing. Just before the election in 2000 a story broke about Bush’s use of drugs in his early years. You know who broke it? Carl Cameron from FOX news. Look it up, it’s true. How many of the left leaning news outlets would report on something like this a week before the vote was to be cast on their candidate?
Maybe the others who posted are right – you should get off the Koolaide.

      • 45caliber

I lived in Arkansas at the time of the Central High School fiasco. I would hear on the news something and, from friends, learn everything was completely different. For example; The news media reported one day that everything was calm and the troops and marshalls had been removed. The same day a friend went through 11 roadblocks to pick up his daughter for a dental appointment.

Since then, I’ve tried to make it a hobby to learn what really happened vs. what they tell you happened. (I have more history books than any libarary in the area does.) And it is amazing just what they try to change in history. So when you note a difference between a reported story and what really happened, I’m not at all surprised. All I can say is, check things out for yourself if you can and take everything else with a grain of salt.

    • JeffH

jake is just carrying the little liberal’s blog torch today.
Go get ‘em upset jake…why not a capital “J” as the first letter of your name? Tell me please?

      Jake

PS-Here in Alaska we care for our enviornment we feed liberals to the bears

I’ve been trying to get all the animal-rights people here in the south that are worried about your starving polar bears to go feed them. So far, none seem that concerned about them.

      • http://none Mike

Hope you gave them a bottle of tums after because they sure got indigestion after that meal. And maby a laxitive for all the crap they just swallowed
        Mike L.

Here we send them to the border!

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Wild Bill,
How can you guys be so inhumane to your bears??? I would say try rats but that would be too much like cannibalism!!!

    • Vigilant

      jake,

      “Welcome back Mr. Olbermann,
The only truth can be found on your journalist program.”

If Olbermann’s a journalist, I’m the King of Siam. If you THINK he’s a journalist, you are certifiable.

    • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Linda

THERE ARE NONE SO BLIND THEN THOSE WHO CAN NOT SEE, YOU ARE STUPID AND SOON YOUR HERO IS GOING TO SHOW WHAT HE REALLY IS YOU STUPID FOOL.

  • Jana

Unfortunately Olbermann is getting his job back after only a few days suspension. So what’s new? The left can cheat and lie and get away with it, but let a conservative do something wrong and you would think they had committed the unpardonable sin. Of course any conservative just living and breathing is committing the unpardonable sin according to a lot of the radical left.

    • Harold Olsen

Olbermann’s so-called suspension was just a sham. It was supposed to be without pay, but I’ll bet he got paid for it. MSNBC was just trying to show everyone that they are not biased. Was anyone besides liberals really fooled.

I’ve seen posts on sites touting the fact that MSNBC cannot afford to go without Olbermann. That’s probably true. His ratings are in the toilet but his show is MSNBC’s highest rated.

      • Michael J.

        Harold Olsen,
You seem to be saying that Olbermann is MSNBC’s anchor baby.

      • 45caliber

        That sounds about right.

      • Dan az

        Harold Olsen
I think there just testing the waters then they will flush!

    • eddie47d

Olbermann does have a sharpe edge to him and that is why I don’t watch him. Now Sean Hannity gave $5,000 to Michelle Bachman on 9/23/10 so why isn’t that an issue. Donating money is at the core of the attacks on Olbermann and his suspension. Parent companies CEO’s of Fox and MSNBC can donate all kinds of money to various causes and politicians. So why the double standard? Bash the liberal but protect the conservative that is such a given with Ben.

      • JeffH

fast eddie…did it ever occur to you that the other networks might not have restrictions on employee’s political contributions? Obviously not, you might have had to think and we all know how tough that is for you to do!

As for Olberman, I thought MSNBC was wrong and too tough with that rule and never should have suspended him. Besides, you can’t expect Madcow and “tingle up my leg” Matthews to carry the love all by themselves!

      • http://Alaska Wild Bill

        Eddie47dfg?

What do you not understand about the concept of corporate policy?.Uberman was spanked for violating the “not so transparent” MSLSD policy, the money was not the issue, public perception was the issue–DUH !!

        Wild Bill
        Alaska

      • eddie47d

Then it is a perception for Hannity also,Duh.

      • eddie47d

I thought they were going to take out the trash on Nov. 2.Apparently not, you’re still here. You’re like the talk show babble when they claim they are fair and balanced. You must have went to the same school of liars. The only thing balanced about you is that when you talk it comes out of both ends – Still like that monkey in the tree looking for attention, right Jeff.

      • JeffH

Heh, heh! Still the potty mouth fast eddiot? Are you Dumb or Dumber?

      • Vigilant

        JeffH,

        Neither; he’s Dumbest.

      • Vicki

        I think I found a clue to Eddie47′s nature.

        Eddie47 writes:
“You must have went to the same school of liars.”

It would appear that Eddie47 did not learn native English. The correct phrase (as I used to harrass my English teachers” about) is

You must have GONE to the same school of liars. “went” might be correct grammar but it is not correct English.

      • eddie47d

Always the Parrot; Stupid is what stupid does and Jeff mimics with the best of them. You’re monkey butt is showing or is that your face?

      • JeffH

Oh my, such the potty mouth! A little miffed fast eddiot?

      • http://?? Joe H.

        JeffH,
edduhhh147DUHS! Is just miffed that a bunch of his high flying heroes fell flat on their faces like we predicted they would!!! He was predicting a clean sweep by the demonrats!!

      • JeffH

        JoeH…let’s see…mmmm…does 67 ring a congressional bell?

      • eddie47d

Joe; Why are you trying to be a bigger a..hole than Jeff. I know of no one including myself who said the Democrats wouldn’t loose seats. That was a given, like most mid-terms ,so why don’t you turn your intelligence up a notch. You two look so foolish and clueless.

  • Vigilant

Removing Olbermann from the airwaves is like censoring the lefties that come on his site to spew their nonsense. Olbermann is to be cherished as an eloquent expression of left wing wackiness.

The reasoned arguments of an intelligent liberal are much more dangerous to conservatism than the histrionics of the lamestream media. Similarly, most of the leftist comments on this site (with some exceptions) are testimony to the unschooled and unthinking sheep that fill the ranks of the left. We wouldn’t want to lose their contributions because their screeds confirm us in our confidence that conservative values, and nothing else, will save this great nation from ruin.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I agree. They should put this guy on every channel there is during prime time, and let him expose the liberal left as to what they really are like and what they really think, because this nut case isnt afraid to open up his trap and spew out his vitrial hatred of anything or anyone whose thought process differs from his left wing liberal agenda. Much like a middle eastern terrorist is his point of view. If you differ with him, he would just as least have you killed or silenced, while at the same time, demanding you have tolerance and acceptance of him. Leave him on, and let the world see the true feelings of the left wing liberals. Keith Olberman is good for the conservative cause, because he truly exposes liberals for what they really are.

      • Margaret B

It sounds more like you are decribing Fox News and friends, I’ve watched both and have seen out-right lies From Fox News, MSNBC commentators are more to the facts and the people that run this website are just feeding people propaganda for their special interests, look at the editors on here, and who they are connected with.

    • JC

I don’t believe there’s any such thing as an intelligent liberal…eloquent, yes…intelligent, no.
Their whole huggy feely philosophy is illiogical and can not possibly reach workable conclusions…so how can it be argued for…”intelligently”?

      • Bob Wire

It’s true , intelligence can be perceived on many levels and in many different venues and protracted in many different ways.

Any then there is the “appreciation” of intelligence. The appreciation being “lacking” does not mean intelligence is not there, only that you can’t see it.

The world is flat, why is that so difficult to see?

      • 45caliber

Some are intelligent – if you equate learned knowledge as intelligence – but the really lacking thing I’ve found in most liberals is a good dose of common sense. If you use a little common sense when you are studying what they want to do, you wonder exactly how they managed to survive as long as they have.

      • JeffH

        BINGO!

      • DaveH

Learned Knowledge? Come on 45. All one needs to do is look around the world to know the Liberal ideas don’t work. They haven’t learned anything. They are strictly Hoping and Dreaming.

      • EddieW

Why is it almost impossible to comprehend Liberal thinking? They seem to reject truth totally…if I tell them the truth…at least the ones I know, they denounce me!! How can one compromise with them?
maybe by giving in, but it would be a total violation of all your values! It really seems to me to be a form of insanity, but they think the same things about us!! Really WEIRD!!!

      • James

JC, you are assuming that liberals are making mistakes rather than intentionally destroying our Christian Republic. Our liberal president is eloquent and intelligent. He bows to foreign kings, he promised India a seat on the U.N. Security Council, he apologizes to foreigners for our past behaviour, he is destroying the dollar, and is placing us forever in debt to the banksters. It takes brilliance to accomplish such things without alarming Americans to the point of rebellion.

      • JC

james, I assume no such thing.
I know they are malevolent little parasites and need to be…

      • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Linda

shipped away to the great dessert of Africa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Margaret B

        Oh you sound soooo intelligent!

    • Bob Wire

I always took you for a deep thinker, very good.

      • marvin

        Bob Wire
if it where not for liberals like you, obermann and obama du,what happened, open mouth put in foot life would be dull

    • refuse2lose

When your viewers are less than those watching the Cartoon Network, you become willing to do anything to shake things up. This was nothing but another circus act,MSNBC trying in vain to keep their “doors”open.

    • JeffH

      Vigilant, well said my man.
