This Was No Mere Election, It Was A Restraining Order

This Was No Mere Election, It Was A Restraining Order

Because of deadline pressures, I’m writing this Wednesday morning. We still don’t know all the election results. But what we do know is that an amazing change has taken place in the political landscape of America.

Let me note the biggest of them all: In the world’s most important legislative body, the U.S. House of Representatives, Republicans gained more than 60 seats. Come January, they will have a very comfortable majority. This is incredibly significant for several reasons.

First, it means that nasty Nancy Pelosi will no longer be Speaker of the House of Representatives. Of all the results of yesterday’s elections that brought a huge smile to my face. That is the best news of all.

Pardon me for wallowing in a joyous bit of schadenfreude for a few moments, but I can’t tell you how happy this makes me. (In case you’re not familiar with that marvelous German word, schadenfreude means “taking delight in someone else’s misfortune.” This is normally not a very admirable emotion, but in this case, it is 1,000 percent justified.)

Proclaim the news throughout the land: The wicked witch from the West is dead. Well, not exactly dead. But she will no longer be able to call the Air Force and order a luxurious jumbo-jet to fly her and her party back to San Francisco (or anywhere else she wants to go). No, she’ll have to go to an airport, stand in line, and put up with those incredibly invasive security procedures, just like thee and me.

But it’s not just Pelosi who is getting demoted. Beginning in January, every single committee in Congress will be chaired by a Republican. Consider what this means for just one seat.

Yes, the Democrats won all 10 Congressional races in Massachusetts. Yes, that odious liberal, Barney Frank, won re-election for the 17th time. Scott Bielat wasn’t able to pull off the miracle many of us prayed for. But consider this: As of Jan. 21, Frank will no longer be chairman of the ultra-powerful House Banking Committee. In fact, no Democrat will be chairman of any committee!

We don’t know yet who will be chairing the various committees. I hope that when it comes to parceling out key committee assignments, some of the toughest conservatives in Congress will get some of the most important posts. We’ll see. But take heart in knowing that every single Democrat chairman will be forced to relinquish his or her chair.

The new Speaker of the House of Representatives will be John Boehner, a fairly conservative Republican. And while Leader Boehner has not been as tough in the past as you and I might prefer, he will be surrounded by a cadre of very bright, very dedicated and very determined conservatives. When he needs to have his backbone stiffened, there will be plenty of people ready to pour the cement.

And here’s something else that is even more important: Every dollar that the Federal government spends — and folks, it spends a lot of them — must be authorized by an appropriations bill that originates in the House of Representatives.

This means, pure and simple, that no matter what President Barak Obama wants, no matter what the Senate approves, and no matter what the present law says, the House can “just say no!” to spending any money on it.

During the victory celebration I hosted at my house Tuesday night, one of the guests said the best thing we could hope for over the next two years was gridlock in Washington. Yes, that’s an outcome to be very much desired, especially compared to the “ram unpopular legislation down our throats” that we’ve experienced for the past two years.

But I don’t agree. We can expect — in fact, we can demand — better than gridlock. We can expect and demand that the House of Representatives start defunding the left. I don’t think a “bring our troops home” movement will gain much ground in the new Congress. But by golly, a “bring our money home” measure should.

How about slashing foreign aid? Eliminating all funds for “community activist” groups like the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN)? Cutting out all sorts of subsidies and supervision; from farms to schools to banks to automobile companies? Republicans in the House could do all of this and more.

Let the debates begin!

When I greeted our first guests at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, I was wearing a bright-red Rand Paul t-shirt. I’m proud to say that I was one of the very first contributors to his campaign (in large part because of my admiration for his dad, Representative Ron Paul of Texas). His victory over an establishment Republican in the primary brought joy to my heart. His election to “the world’s most exclusive club” means there will be a battle-hardened libertarian in the U.S. Senate. Oh boy, is this going to be fun!

The biggest disappointment of the night was that Sharron Angle wasn’t able to force Harry Reid into retirement. As you probably know, the unions poured tens of millions of dollars into that election, along with enough storm troopers… uh, excuse me, election volunteers… to win World War II. I’m not surprised Angle lost; she had a mountain of difficulties to overcome.

Three days before the elections I had an exclusive interview with former Majority Leader Dick Armey, the chairman of FreedomWorks, one of my favorite organizations. During the interview he predicted that the Senate race in Nevada could be very close. And then he added, “If it’s close, they’ll steal it — just like Minnesota last year.”

I can’t prove that the rabid redistributionists stole the election in Nevada, any more than I could prove it about Al Franken’s victory last summer. (See my column, They Stole That Election Fair and Square, for my comments then). But I’ve got my suspicions. I’ll still wear my Sharron Angle t-shirt with as much pride as the one from FreedomWorks. (Yes, I put on quite a fashion show Tuesday, changing shirts several times during the course of the evening.)

I know the liberals who dominate most of the mass media in this country will try to put their own “spin” on the results. And I’m sure that Obama will do the same thing when he addresses the nation in the coming days. I’ll have more to say about all of that in future issues of Straight Talk.

But for now, let me conclude by pointing out what really happened Tuesday: This wasn’t just a midterm election. No, a majority of Americans did something I’ve hoped to see for years: They put a restraining order on out-of-control government.

If there’s a particular election that made you happier than you’ve been in years, why not take a moment to tell us about it? Just go to the “comments” section below and start typing away. (Not in all caps, please.)

We won a big one, folks. But remember, as important as Tuesday was, it is just one battle in a life-long war. If you want to keep what’s yours and get this country back on the path of leadership and growth, what you do tomorrow, next week, next month and next year will be just as important.

Until next time, keep some powder dry.

Yes we won this round, but the fight has just begun. We must come together for 2010 and win. Those that have been put in office must now realize that we the people will no longer allow business as usual. The defict must come down, jobs must be found, raming laws and regulations down the puiblics throat will no be allowed again. This goes for the Republicans and the democrats. I am glad to see that pelosi is no longer in charge, she really needs to take her face lifts, botox and store bought boobs back to the liberals of cal. or better yet to a socialist country where she belongs.

    • Lewis Munn

Don’t you think Pelosi would look better in an Iranian Burka? She could be a 4th wife to some tribal chieftain!

      • http://?? Joe H.

        lewis Munn,
I know you don’t like tribal chieftains but dam man, P-lousy for a wife??? That’s cruel and inhumane punishment. Man, that would be TORTURE!!! We all know THAT’S ILLEGAL!!!

  • Jim Graham

Your “Restraining Order” is very approble. I just hope the Repubilcan House also has someone who will bring up the REAL problem with the U.S. economy and job loss. We have transferred the wealth of American and future to the Chinese and other countries. So we do need a restraining order placed on doing business with unethical countries who are simply cheating America.

The liberal congress has NOT done its duty in protecting America from its enemies, just the opposite. NAFTA and the sweet heart trade deal with China have robbed American Children of their future. Working Americans with American jobs are what create American properity.

A few years ago in hearings about the sale of American technology to China a Chinesse man said “We were not supprised that you could buy American politicians (we buy politicians everywhere), we were surprised at how cheap they were.”

Our politicians have cheaply sold the proserity of America. Hopefully the new Congress will put a “Restraining Order” on that also!

    • UncleOtto

Well said Jim. The election went my way for the most part here in Florida. However I noticed that all the candidates said they were going to get the jobs back. No one mentioned rescinding the free trade agreements, the major cause of the unemployment problem and everything that followed, mortgage, Homelessness, etc. Even the GUVNAS (polish) could have said they would encourage the state representatives to shoot for rescinding. I suspect that not a few Republicans elected are neo-cons, the color of Bush, and believe that free trade will cause the field of dreams instead of the nightmare that is upon us. I hope I’m wrong but…… Even Ron Paul unfortunately believes in it. The neo-cons also support these wars on helpless countries no danger to us.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Uh, what helpless countries are we warring on? I havent seen that one yet?

      • UncleOtto

Sounds like we have a Neo-con here. Can’t surve 2 masters Mr Israeliphile. One thing in Obama’s favor. He’s reluctant to attack Iran.

    • Wayne

Jim, I could not have said it any better. You are so right. The current president, and Congress, has not done anything at all over the last two years to bring jobs back to this country. They have been to damm busy passing NObama’s “health care bill”, and working on NObama’s “Cap & Trade” bill, or as some call it the “Cap & Tax” bill. NObama would not make a pimple on a good president’s butt. He is inexperienced, a Narcissistic, and good at spreading the wealth, and the BS around, but he is not good for anything else. Why, oh why would any sensible American vote for any man like this. Even after two year, I am still trying to figure it out, but I simply cannot. I feel that the ones who voted for him was not informed very well, or they just wanted a change, any change. I blame most of this on the liberal press instead of the people. People, for Goodness Sake, do you home work in the future, don’t believe the libeal press. Please don’t vote in the future until you have time to research your candidates.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

They have been too busy standing on their milk crates, pointing their fingers at everyone else placing blame, instead of coming together and trying to form some kind of plan to make things better for the country. Instead of being a part of the solution, they are growing the problem.

  • Robert Bryan

The next thing to do is get rid of any and all members of the Senate and the House that are Pro Gun Control Nuts. and vote in a Federal law that imposes a minimum $2500.00 Fee for all the people who refuse to own a fire arm and also require any one who refuses to own a fire arm to register with the federal government with their name date of birth and SS# as a non gun owner so the non gun ownership fee can be collected. This fee then shall be given to local Law Enforcement Departments for the purpose of providing protection for those who refuse to own a fire arm for personal protection.THIS IS A TYPE OF GUN CONTROL THAT MAY BE ACCEPTABLE TO GUN OWERS!!!!

    • Shibamom

So…why would you shove gun ownership down people’s throats?? If you choose to own a gun, then go for it. All I would expect from you is to be responsible, lock it up, and don’t leave it around for an innocent child to get ahold of it. For most of my life, I’ve never felt the need to own a gun although within the last two years of this current administration, I’ve considered getting one for protection because of all the hate and division that has been tossed around our country for the last two years. I may still get one…but don’t impose it on me. Didn’t we all just blog our dislike about having the Gov’t impose things on the citizen’s?

      • Dagney

I believe Robert Bryan was being satirical and making a point. Obviously, you seem to lean left and so, would not get the irony.

      • rosina

        rIGHT ON SHIBAMOM
I have never owned a gun in my life.
Would be even scared to try to shoot.
I recall years ago, in my early youth, being invited by a friend on the outskirts of London, Ontario,(Canada) then a very small town. She had a huge rifle at least, it seemed that way to me, and i was unable even to hit a huge tree trunk, let alone something small.
I believe , like you, NO ONE should be forced to do anything against their will or conscience.

      • Robert Bryan

Mam I own numerous guns and my children have been taught that they are not toys and are to be left alone.Furthermore I am not advocating shoving gun ownership on any one.HOW EVER those of us who choose to own guns have been paying through the nose for years for that privilege it is about time the anti gunners STARTED TO PAY!! THE TAX PAYER PAYS THE SALARY OF THE POLICE OFFICER WHO PROTECTS THEM WHY SHOULDN’T THE NON GUN OWNER PAY FOR HIS OWN PROTECTION!! I OWN GUNS AND CAN PROTECT MYSELF,FAMILY AND PROPERTY

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

But you are wrong in saying people should be forced to own a gun. That is a form of communism, where the government forces you to do something. Its socialism. The government should be in the business of making sure we have a ready army for self defense, and a police force to keep order, and a fire department for safety. A commission to take care of roads and bridges. And all this money would be readily available to have the finest of all these, if they would quit giving it away to terrorists nations and third world countries who hate us and march on our capital, and if they would quit giving handouts to lazy bums who refuse to get a job. Welfare and food stamps were not meant to be a way of life, but folks have figured out how to prostitute the system, and the democrats keep expanding this to keep getting their votes, and to keep them down, and they are too dumb to see that, and keep voting for them. But sir, you cannot force people to have a gun, nor can you force them not to have a gun. Either one is wrong. You cannot force people to eat meat, and you cannot force them not to eat meat. Or to be married, or not to be married, or to go to church, or not go to church. It isnt the governments business to intrude on our lives like that. That is the problem we have right now, in that government has gotten so big, they continually seek to grow and control more and more aspects of our lives. When they start being allowed to pick and choose which banks live and fail, and which business’s like GM and Chrysler that they want to give billions of dollars do, then they have gotten to big and powerful. When you start interferring with the free market system like this, bad, bad things happen. No sir, we need less goverment regulation and interference, not more of it. So you are wrong, very wrong with this idea.

      • vicki

In his plan people are not being forced to own a gun. Just like ObamaCare you have a choice. Buy or pay a fine. :)

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Berberoni,
There is already a town out west that requires you to own a gun if you are to live there! One of the loest crime rates in the nation!!!

      • AnhydrousBob

I know your heart is in the right place, but your mind is not. It is no different for the government to force someone to buy health insurance or a gun. We should be wanting less government, not more government that just suits our own tastes. It Liberty is good, then lets have more of it, and less coercion by the government.

By the way, I’m all for less taxes and pay for fewer police. That is an alternative to your argument, one that would give government less power.:)

      • Wayne

I do not believe in gun control. I understand what is being said here. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t ever want to see a law passed that would force a person to own a firearm. We have too many laws on the books now. I do believe in complete freedom of owning a firearm. Without firearms we would still be living under British Control. There culd never have been a Revolutionary War. Without firearms we could never have conquored the West. Firearms keep us free from those who would like to conquor us. This is a true story: Out in one of the western states a few years back a 13 year old girl was alone in her house. Two illegal Mexicans broke into the house after the father had left for work. The girl was in an upstairs bed room when the two men entered the home. This girl and her Dad were trap and skeet shooters. When the girl heard the men coming up the stairway she got her trusty shotgun and as the two men approached the top of the steps she killed both of them. Thank God this girl had a gun and was experienced in using it, or she may have ended up dead. One of the two dead men had a weapon on him that he had stolen from another house burglary a few minutes earlier. To make this short, it not only pays to have a gun in the home, but you had better learn how to use it, and be able to use it if you have to. I know of several incidents like these that has occurred over the years. Yes! there are tragedies that happen from time to time by sheer negligence of the gun owner. I feel that there has been more lives saved than those accidently killed by firearms.

      • vicki

        Several? Try several MILLION. http://www.akdart.com/gun3.html

      • Lewis Munn

I agree, but we need to allow those who want or need weapons to have them. Taking a gun safety course is not an unreasonable requirement if it is affordable to all. And when guns are allowed, the government needs to stop selling the used military brass to enemy countries and let it be reloaded here for civilian use.

And stop taxing or restricting civilian calibre cartridges manufacturing.

    • Harold Olsen

I’m pro-Second Amendment but I do not own any guns nor do I like guns. Why would you propose such a fascist idea?

      • Robert Bryan

WELL HAROLD: Why should gun owners have to pay exorbitant taxes to buy guns and ammo and be subject to all the regulations that are part of gun ownership when the ANTI GUN NUTS dont have the taxes and regulations? Like I said if a person chooses not to own a FIREARM to protect HIS OR HER FAMILY,PROPERTY,AND SELF and choose to rely on POLICE OFFICERS FOR THAT PROTECTION THEN THEY SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO PAY A YEARLY FEE FOR NON FIREARM OWNERSHIP PRIVELEDGE AND AS SAID THAT FEE SHOULD GO TO PAY THE SALARYS OF THE POLICE OFFICERS THAT PROVIDE THE PROTECTION. THIS IS EQUALITY NOT FACISIM!!!!! HITLER PROMOTED GUN CONTROL CHECK HISTORY SEE WHERE THAT LED!!!!!!!.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Because you have made the conscience decision to buy the gun, so you pay the fee’s and taxes. Im pro gun, but dont ask me to pay for you owning one. Thats insane. My gosh man, you know how much I resent the government making me pay joe crack head unemployement, and food stamps and welfare, because he doesnt want to work for it? Im sick of it. Now you propose that I have to pay, so that you dont have to pay so much for something you want? Thats insane man. You dont like the fee’s and taxes on buying a gun, hey man, DONT BUY ONE THEN. Me, if I want to buy one, Ill pay the fees and the taxes, as I understand that is part of the deal. Come on man. Thats like saying I go to the grocery and they shouldnt be allowed to charge me for my groceries because I dont want to pay for what Im getting. Thats nuts man. Ive got my own bills to pay, so dont ask me to pay your gun fee’s. Geez.

      • usnpops

I read somewhere that in Switzerland every citizen is issued a firearm by the government, and required to have training in the use of firearms.

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_Switzerland

With all the home invasions in our area in the past few months, I am thinking of obtaining a gun.

And now due to budget constraints, and reduction in force, the police are not responding to some 911 calls that are not life threatening. Burglary being one of them. We are instructed to go to the Police Station and file a report, they do not come to your home and investigate. To few policemen to continue that service.

      • Lewis Munn

You forgot, the crime rate is Switzerland is very low also. Criminals do not prosper long where everybody is armed and knows how to use the arms on criminals!

      • Wayne

I carried a weapon for around 30 years in my work, so I had to learn to love them. I respect firearms, and I am not afraid of them when I am around folks who know how to handle them. I will always have firearms in my home for my personal protection. I know of too many cases where folks that did not have firearms in their homes have been killed. I am also aware of many cases where the home owner had firearms in their homes who have had to use their firearms to protect their family members from people who had broken in their homes that were armed. Most likely some of the folks on this forum would have been killed if this same thing would have happened to them. My mott is: learn how to use firearms, then go out and buy yourself a good defensive weapon.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Gun control means using both hands.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Berberoni,
I thought it meant hitting what you aim at!!!

  • Conservative at Birth

Where are all the left wing loons today? Crying in their beer, I suppose.

    • Dagney

Not in California, I’m sad to say.

    • Jeep

I wish that were true…however, I truly believe that the liberal establishment is out there plotting thier next move. The progressive movement is only looking at this as a temporary setback. They don’t care if they have to move the time-tables around a little. We must remain vigilant and realize the fight has just begun. I think Freedom Fighter put it best, “Battle won, war not over.”

    • Harold Olsen

According to a headline of WorldNet Daily (I didn’t read the story) one Democrat is demanding to see Rubio’s birth certificate. I find that funny in a pathetic sort of way.

      • Laura Ayala

Are you kidding me? Oh, that is so typical of the left. I want to see a birth certificate for Obama, one that has the name of the hospital on it, , not just a “copy”, abadly made one to boot. If he were truly a Citizen of the USA, they why spend millions of dollars keeping not only his place of birth secret, but his education, his finances, everything an American is supposed to produce to hold office he has hired lawyers and paid millions to keep his past secret. Oh gee, I wonder how he got away with that.

      • Lewis Munn

Millions of dollars, that is how. They must pay Illinois legislators fantastic salaries for him to have that much money to conceal everything about himself!!

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

They are all celebrating at Barney Franks house, getting to know each other better.

      • (WIA) Wild Indian in Action

I’m sure you meant to say Barney’s house of ill-repute .

      • Wayne

Oh, leave poor old Barney alone. He has enough problems. If you don’t beieve me, ask his boyfried. This idiot, Barney Frank, was the head man over the committe regulating Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, and look what happens to our economy after they bought up all those bad mortages. Imagine that his constituents would vote for him after he had done that? Does’t this make you wonder about their mentality? Could it be all the handouts he gives back to his community that influenced their decisions. I say, make a law that forbids any Congress members from giving millions of our dollars back to their community to buy votes. This is the only reason this man could have been voted back in office. I can’t believe they could be that stupid to vote this man back in again. I hope his voters would come and read some of our post. They would probably wouild be ashamed to say where they are from!!!!

    • Lewis Munn

Maybe they flew West and East for the winter?

  • Vicki

For me the wins of Rick Scott and Marco Rubio in florida mean much to our state. The fact that an outsider can be elected governor is amazing. Evidently Florida spoke!

    • Ellen0

Going to be interesting to watch Marco Rubio. A real rising star. Floridians really got the message.

    • http://www.keysinsurance.com Linda

Vicki, yes it was a great day for Florida with Scott being elected and also Rubio to the Senate. I think both will do really good things for our state.

  • Homer Porter

I was happy to see John Kasich get elected Governor of Ohio because the infastructure of our once great state has been devasted. The only people making money in Ohio has been Auctioners as business owners stand by in tears watching their life’s work and assets being sold with a gavel at a value barely above a gift. I also wish President Obama on his World Tour will be held responsible for his Disdain for the wishes of the People whom are actually Citizens of our country. I believe he is serving without proof of citizenship and should be held responsible for breaking our laws.

Homer….Even though I am from Nevada And not too proud of it at this moment, I was so rooting for JOHN KASICH, out of all our representatives John is one of those people that I trust the most, I believe he has integrity and in my book it’s one of the most important virtue of them all.
I may be wrong but we have to put our faith somewhere and I think I will begin with john…..Time will tell.

      • Lewis Munn

Seems to me the only people making money are the government press operators.

Judging from the History of Germany, we can hope they make lots and lots so we can fire our wood stoves with it! Then we can tell the world our economy is so good we have money to burn!!

    • Wayne

Homer, I agree with you about your new governor. I think he is a fine man and will work for the betterment of all the people in Ohio. I have watched him on televison quite a bit. I think I am fairly good at predicting a persons character. My prediction is, he will be fair and honest, and will make a great governor. Of course, he will need good legislators who is willing to work with him. Governors can have all the best ideas how to get things done, but all this will need approved by the state legislators. It is really more important to screen your members of Congress. and state legistors more closely that the governor, or president, when voting.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Ohio, Michigan and Illinois have be ravaged and consumed by Democrats for so long, that they are in dire straights. Unemployment is rampant, crime is sky high, and its about time they changed pace. Here in Indiana, our Republican Governor has us back in the red after 8 democrat years of being in debt. And his critics cry about him selling the toll road. This thing runs along the far northern border of Indiana, where most of the state never see’s it. Im 52, and live way up north, 30 minutes from the Michigan border, and Ive never driven on it in my life. He got billions from I believe Austrailia for it, and it also alleviated us from paying the millions of dollars annually it took to maintain it. The guy is a business man, and thats what we need. Ohio, Illinois and Michigan need to take note of how this is done, by kicking out the democrats, which they did finally. And more demo’s got the boot in Indiana, which will help Gov. Daniels get more done this time around also. Oh, and back to the plus side of the money he has us in, well all the democrats in the state were trying to get their little fingers in it and spend, spend, spend it, instead of using it for when we might need it, which would have been real soon had not Obama been put into check.

      • Lucybobaloo

I was watching Fox News recently and saw a short Interview with your Gov. Daniels as a possible Presidential possibility for 2012. I was so impressed with what they said about him and what he has been able to accomplish. He certainly has a lot to recommend him and I was so pleased to see you confirm what was said. I spoke with my nephew an OTR Truck Driver about the Toll Road 80/90 running across Indiana, Ohio, etc. headed East as he travels it weekly. He said from his perspective, the rates darn near doubled, but the road is maintained better. His main complaint was that there are so many ‘Smoky’s’ and that he got a ticket from being 2 miles over the limit!! I guess they have to pay for themselves somehow but the Truckers are surely being
over regulated and one wonders how long they will be able to make a living on the road. Yes, Government is way too big!! Oh for more patriots like your Governor.

      • Lewis Munn

You need to try driving the toll roads, with the tiny “european” signs, and many restrictions, and unbelievably dense traffic. The europrans have them signed for cars that can only make 50 mph!

        Lewis Munn,
you obviously have never driven the autobahn!!! The curves would make any professional race driver jealous and when I was there in 68-70 i had cars pass me like I was standing still and I was doing 80!! At that time they didn’t have a speed limit and I saw very few accidents!! It was one of the best highways I’ve ever seen!!

An important election just ended. We don’t need to celebrate. No world-class victory has materialized. Basically, a message has been sent. This could be the calm before the storm, or it might be another round of ‘Business-as-Usual 101, Plan B.’
The enemy still exists. Some of the more disgusting players are still in office. Perhaps the best news of the day is that the Wicked @#^*! of the West has to surrender her gavel (and pull every string she can to stay out of prison).
If there’s any justice left in Washington, investigators should be meeting to INDICT and CONVICT. How can anyone with a thirst for justice not see how Nancy thinks SHE is above the laws of the land?
I’ll believe the restraining order idea when I see bodies behind bars and a certain group of freedom-haters finally put in their place – OUT of America.
    **********************************************
s c…..That would be great, the wench and many others need to be made an example of but we have to keep an eye on the newly elected officials and keep the fire burning under their asses , veering from the constitution is not an option and send them many messages if they go astray with a little note saying ” Remember the Alamo “.

    • (WIA) Wild Indian in Action

Mick, Our local Tea Party and 912 committees are identifying the rinos and progressives for 2012. It will happen again I suggest all of you do the same and start your own local constitutional conventions. Michelle Bachmann is right on spot.

  • FlaJim

As Chip points out, the most important thing is that the Dems no longer control the purse strings. The GOP could present a budget that defunds Education, Energy, EPA, ALL the ‘czars,’ as well as ahost of other useless agencies and offices.

There should be a change or shift in the current seniority system used to put certain members on certain committees. Most of the new GOP members are not babes in the woods who’ll meekly go along with the status quo. Many have years of experience in the real world and know things are supposed to be run as opposed to obscure traditions.

The new GOP caucus will meet in Feb when the entire RNC leadership could be replaced along with the ranks of certain House and Senate leaders who’ve proved ineffective. It would be nice to see people like McConnell, McCain, Graham, Snowe, Collins, and other unreliable RINOs relegated to the back benches. We need dynamic conservative leadership.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

I am certain the only reason McCain got re-elected is the state couldnt bring itself into electing a dumb democrat. He needs to retire and give way to new blood soon, someone who wont bow down to being a RINO.

      • (WIA) Wild Indian in Action

Beberoni, We gave it a hell of a try to elect J.D. Hayworth in the primary, I did not vote for McCain, I wrote in J.D.

      • Wayne

I live in Pa. of course, but I would have voted for Hayworth had I lived in Arizona. I liked what he had to say. I think John McCain should retire, and hand his reigns over to a good Consrvative.

FlaJim, Does Trent Lott come to mind.

  • Gary

My wife and I were delighted that our long-entrenched, (28 years), Democratic congressman in our district of Southwest Virginia was finally thrown out on his ear and off the public dole.

    • JRC

Nope he is not, all you have done is forced him to retire…with an excellent retirement and health care package we the taxpayers will pay for until he finally turns to worm food.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

You are right, and something needs to be done about that. Its not right that these guys have fixed for themselves a 260,000.00 dollar a year retirement package, that comes off the sweat of our brow. Its not right, and it needs repealed and changed real soon. Their pension should not be any greater than the ones us normal working folks get, and this huge couple hundred thousand dollar a year thing is just rediculous.

      • Lewis Munn

Well, as an alternative, can we all vote ourselves similarly configured $260,000 a year retirement pensions, w/COL adjustments semi-annually, and all immediately retire?

  • Steven A

Connecticut’s race for Governor is a great example that illustrates the merit Armey’s comment, “If it’s close, they’ll steal it,” has. CT’s Republican candidate, Tom Foley, was clearly ahead in the numbers all night, on his way to certain victory. And then… the far left machine kicked in! It appears that CT’s three largest urban war zones, Hartford, New Haven and Bridgeport were holding back their numbers. Three cities plagued with corruption that equals any third world country. With clear evidence of voter fraud being displayed all evening, the corrupt liberal machine turned in bogus numbers from these slime infested pits putting their man, Dan Malloy, out front. This move insures that CT will continue its tax and spend practice moving CT closer to California in the sewer pipe. Also, CT will reward the unions for sending out their thugs, oops, election volunteers to help steal CT Governorship from the great people in Connecticut(We are here). The country needs to demand a run off election in Connecticut’s race for Governor.

Chip: You seem to have faith in the new faces in the house, but time will tell. I remember when the new faces had the “Contract with America, it didn’t do what it said, its leader was somewhat very weak. I think Boehner will be as weak as the “Contract with America” leader was, maybe not, don’t know. If these new faces don’t preform according to all the predictions, get ready for a new America with an ugly face?

    • Dagney

Doing the right thing is always the hardest path. We must wait, give them a chance and, when/if they stray, we must send reminders. This is going to take the electorate staying AWAKE and not going back to sleep again. Irradicating Marxism (evil) in this country will be a fight that goes on for many years. Then, we must still stay awake after that to keep the evil out!

    • Wayne

Redfray, if they don’t meet our demands there will be another election coming up in two more years. We’ll get rid of them, and try some one different. I have more faith in this newer group than you do. I think that John Boehner will be a good Speaker of the House and that he will do as he has said he will do, ie, listen to the American People. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see to know for sure.

      • Harold Olsen

It’s nice to be optimistic and I envy your optimism. I, however do not trust ANY politicians. I especially do not trust politicians who, when running for office, claim they are not politicians. Once a person decides to run office he becomes a politician and if he says he’s not one, he won’t get my vote. The new people that just got elected around the country, well, I’ll just wait and see if they allow themselves to be corrupted and whether they will allow themselves to be taught “how things are done.”

      • (WIA) Wild Indian in Action

Harold Olsen and all other reading this, heed the words of Trent Lott, Karl Rove and the RNC establishment.

Obama was this am and said he felt that they spent so much time trying
to “rush” things through that they didn’t realize that they needed
to “Persuade” people more. He still can’t hear! We don’t need to be “persuaded”, we need for him to “Listen”. No one wants his communistic black panther style of leadership of shoving down our
throats his agenda and turning our white families into war zones for
    the sake of his agenda.

    • Patriot

Here is what I learned in 30 years of sales, he who talks the most leaves with the merchandise! Obama keep on talking!

    • Ellen0

Said he did not “explain” enough to the people. He and his teleprompter could be counted on to be “on” almost every day. In the long run that was good — people got a great look at what a bad choice he had been. He was on TV so often that I wore out my mute button. I think he really believed he was the Messiah and right now his head must be spinning. Could not take any criticism — thin-skinned and arrogant. Americans have awakened to what this guy really stands for. His answers to simple questions went on forever and he never really answered the question. True — “You can’t fool all of the people all of the time.” Now we will really see the draining of the swamp. God Bless America.

      • Harold Olsen

I heard someone on one of the cable channels say the other day that even Obama’s answers to questions in his press conferences and townhall meetings are on teleprompters. His people apparently figure out all the possible questions that might be asked and write out the answers for him to give and put them on the teleprompters. When a question is close to one of the answers they’ve come up with, they call it up and he reads it. Just how true that is, I don’t know. It wouldn’t surprise me though. He probably even needed a teleprompter when he proposed to his wife.

      • TIME

        Harold,
The questions are pre given, and if one fails to follow the given questions they are never allowed to ask any questions again.
Thats why the Telie Prompters have the answers pre scripted.

    • Wayne

NObama is a narcissist person, (in love with himself and thinks he is better than most). I don’t see him changing much. It is not in this type of persons make up to change. I have, from the beginning, predicted that NObama will be a one term president. Look what he has done to this country in just two years. I believe he could have finished us off in 4 years had the same Congress members remained in place. I guess the billionaire George Soros has been visiting with NObama several times lately. This certainly does not look good as we know Soros is a Socialist.

      • Bill in Fla

Soros is not only a Socialist, but the puppeteer controlling Nobama, the media and both liberal Republicans and Democrats. The man is scary and needs to be investigated.

    • http://donthaveone Beberoni

And he also said he doesnt think his miserable failed policies had anything to do with all their loses. What an arrogant pompous man. Are you kidding me? It is directly because of him and his failed policies that they got voted out of office. Pretty much the only ones that stayed, were the die hard all the way to the left types, like Harry Reid and Barbara Boxer, where the people that vote for them are so far left they dont even know these people are doing a disservice to them. But it was all Obama’s fault. But on the whole, we need to thank him for exposing the left as to who they really are. They have been trying to hid it for so long, but he has let the cat out of the bag. We see him making alliance with terrorists nations, and turning a blind eye to black panthers intimidating people at the polls, and all in all, him and his parties ideals are being shown, and America is waking up to how they really are.

Just because we won the House doesn’t mean we can sit back!
We are going to have to fight like heck to keep the backbone in our new people.
The old established is going to do all they can to indoctrinate them to their old unacceptable ways. We need to demand no established aids or people that work for the establishment old school Repubs get to keep jobs with the new folks.

    • TIME

      Roger,
How right you are we have made only one small step; now we really need to buckel down and work even harder. We have the nasty inflation issue thats going to pop up within the next few months. Its started but most will not really feel it until March 2011. Keep in mind the fed just printed off $650 Billion dollars, and they are also buying up Bonds by the truck load, so the dollar will drop again in worth.
I also have been told that the fed is going to be printing off yet $500 billon more by January 2011, talk about inflation, hell this is bad very bad news. It will lead to more unemployment, and the dollar being worth even less.

As well we still have many land mines sitting waiting on the Congress and Senate to reconvene next week. Within that mess is a lot of damage that may be even worse that Barry Care. Such as the UNION CARD CHECK bill. And lets not forget Joe Liebermans Internet take over and total control bill.
By the way what the hell is wrong with the people from teh state of CONNnettictcut? They make the wackO’s from Calie look near normal.
I expect this type of cray behavior out of MassAchewsits land of the fruit cakes, and even New Nork where Chuckie Schumer and the new Gov whos family should just be called the I hate anyone who has any money family rather than the Growmo’s. I am glad I left NY when I did.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Inflation is going to have to happen. You cant roll the presses around the clock creating money, and not have inflation hit, as sooner or later that money is going to get spent somewhere. Then the crap hits the fan and makes it worse. And its going to get worse, before it gets better, but we did make a step in the right direction November 2nd, and in 2012 we can get America back to work.

  • Charlotte S. Dearien

Please consider commenting on what happened in Iowa when the citizen-voters FIRED three (3) Supreme Court Judges. Have we, all along, been able to do this to a State Supreme Court? And what would there be to protect the U.S. Supreme Court from being dealt with thusly, especially when they shred the Constitution which they are supposed to uphold?

Thank you for your very informative column. This is my first time to comment.

    • Cindy in Iowa

Charlotte, now we are waiting & watching to see whether our ousted governor, Culver, will appoint replacements for these 3 judges, just giving us more of the same OR if our new governor-elect, Brandstadt, will be allowed to make that decision, which would be fait-accompli.

      • S.C.(Sioux City) Murf

This is what we need to do every time they don’t listen to the people. Even Brandstadt asked them to back off and allow him to appoint the next judges. We’ll have to wait and see if chet will let terry or if he’ll undermine him

    • Wayne

Charlotte, the U. S. Supreme Judges are not voted on. It is setup by law, the Constitution I believe, that they be given this job for the rest of their lives. This is a necessity in this case as when they vote on an issue they can vote on it the way they see fit, and not have to worry about any repercussions later on down the road. This keeps their decisions from being influenced by outside forces which is a good thing. In other words it keeps politics out of their decisions. I know in Ohio that the State Supreme Court Judges are voted on. The state supreme court judges are not quite as important as the U. S. Supreme Court Judges are. I would assume most states are like this.

      • Harold Olsen

I believe that US Supreme Court justices can be impeached. However, I do not know under what conditions this can happen.

      • Wayne

Harold, you are right on this. This is the only way I know of where thay can be forced out.

      • DaveH

Maybe, Wayne, but remember it was politics that got them appointed in the first place.

      • TIME

Dave how right you are, just like Barrys last appoontee who kept Barrys feet out of the fire, it was nothing more or less than a PAY BACK from Barry.

That needs to be stopped, as well she should be removed from the court ASAP. And replaced with someone who has less baggage if thats even possible anylonger.

      • Wayne

Oh yes, Dave, you are right. We, the conservatives, are a lot better off when we have a conservative president, and a conservative Congress when a U. S. Supreme Court Judge retires. Once they are in office, like Harold said, the only way to get them out would to impeach them. However, this is hard to do. I don’t ever remember any getting impeached in my 72 year of age. I just googled here: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/14218 and learned that there has never been an impeachment of a U.S. Supreme Court Judge. Conservative president and Congress appoint Conservative judges and the Democrats picks the liberal judges. I don’t care who they are as long as they follow the Constitution, as written, but the liberals seem to want to change from the way the Constitution is written.

      • David Evans

A Supreme Court Judge can be impeached by the Congress according to the Constitution and removed from office.

      • Kate8

Speaking of Supreme Court – now, I’m talking SCOTUS. Do you all suppose Obama will have any problem getting more liberal judges in should someone retire? Since they are confirmed by the Senate, which retains a dem majority, will we try to stop him? Or cave, as usual.

You know he’s going to try to further stack the Court while he’s in, and the effects of that are for a very long time. It seems that the Court has somehow usurped supreme authority over the ‘balance of powers’ by stealth, thanks to democrats.

        Scary.

      • Kinetic1

Thanks to DEMOCRATS! Are you kidding! President Bush was the first President effectively appointed by a conservative Supreme Court. With his appointments pushing the court even further to the right, Corporations are now allowed to spend all the money they want to influence elections. Evidence can be used, even if the police violated the 4th amendment in getting it! You call this Liberal?

        According to a recent study
“In its first five years, the Roberts court issued conservative decisions 58 percent of the time. And in the term ending a year ago, the rate rose to 65 percent, the highest number in any year since at least 1953.”

“Four of the six most conservative justices of the 44 who have sat on the court since 1937 are serving now: Chief Justice Roberts and Justices Alito, Antonin Scalia and, most conservative of all, Clarence Thomas. (The other two were Chief Justices Burger and Rehnquist.) Justice Anthony M. Kennedy, the swing justice on the current court, is in the top 10.”

That’s right, the swing justice is among the top 10 most conservative. Maybe, just maybe President Obama will have a chance to bring the court back to the middle ground and the American people will come before Corporate America.

      • Brad

        Kinetic1,

So you would rather have the Supreme Court legislate from the bench, surpressing the US Constitution because Ohmama’s last two nominees would rather rule on how you feel not by rule of law. Sotomayor ruled the 2nd amendment does not allow citizens the right to own a weapon, then you have Kagan who changed a medical boards opinion to suit former Pres Bill Clintons abortion agenda.

As for the 2000 election the Supreme Court stopped a whinny Al Gore, lets recount until we get our way, don’t you get it once the vote has been certified its over! The Supreme Court saw what was happening and put all in line in accordance to the constitution, now we need to hold our elected officials to their constitutional oath to support and defend the constitution of the united states of america against all enemy’s, foreign and demestic! If commensence legislation is held up or stopped by the rats in congress and if the legislation makes it to the presidents desk and is vetoed, the rats are going to be defying the will of the people and in two years Ohmama and more rats in congress will be gone.

      • http://?? Joe H.

WAAAAA, WAAAAAAA Bush stole the election WAAAAAAAA!!!

      • Lewis Munn

Unfortunately, since they are appointed by politicians, they come in politically biased and owing return of favors. For a lifetime! Some at least are dishonest and/or deceptive in the statements they make for confirmation.

It was good when Presidents were honest and honorable; now when Presidents are politically motivated to satisfy pressure groups with Supreme Court decisions in their favor, the checks and balances are gone down the tubes.

    • Vigilant

      Charlotte,

      Welcome!

As I know it, each state has a different method of putting judges in office. Here in NY we vote on them, in other states judges are appointed.

The impeachment mechanism is in place for most judges (up to and including the Supreme Court of the US). But we, as voters, cannot touch the SCOTUS judges.

SCOTUS has been regularly writing new laws since the Earl Warren Court, and gutless politicians in the Congress have abrogated their responsibilities by not calling out the court when it does so.

      • Vigilant

Pardon me, I meant “abdicated,” not “abrogated.”

  • joan

Even though I am not an American. You have no idea how happyI was about the results. I stayed up all night in Europe to watch it. God Bless America and all who voted correctly.

    • Shibamom

Hi Joan, thanks for the support. Where do you live in Europe? I’m very new into following politics so I’m curious. Why would our elections make you happy?

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Because even the Europeans see the evil in the democrats.

    • Dagney

Hi, Joan! Thank you for your support! Conservatism is on the rise even in America (where it never should have left)! People who know history and THINK know that socialism is immoral and has never worked. It has destroyed many, many lives.

      • Kate8

We need some help out west! Our conservatives are leaving!

We need some hardy conservatives to come back to California and help us take it back. If we allow these socialist stongholds to stand, they will spread. What happens in California sets precedent.

We need to to pressure Congress to close the floodgates to third-world immigration. STOP IT until we can straighten out the massive cultural mess we have already. This is our only hope, because the million brought in today expand to 2 million quickly, in addition to the new millions brought in. All democrat voters.

Then we need to get busy educating people in what freedom is really about. We need to break the democrat stranglehold on education, and stop the government intrusion (and demise) of private schools.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

California is failed, and is doomed to fail more. The good people with any morals and the successful business’s are fleeing there as fast as they can, to escape the liberal pacifists agenda and the open borders and the lack of morals and the political correctness and the pollution and all the rich hollywood liberals with their agenda. Its been going to hell in a hand basket for years, and people are tired of it, and leaving it to its demise. It wont be long until it is a part of Mexico again anyhow. They already own the southern half. If you dont believe me, go there and walk down the street. Tell me how many people you hear speaking english. I rest my case.

Been there, done that. My wife had to be reassured that we were still in the United States.

      • Wayne

Sorry, Kate8, I am a staunch Conservative, but I live in Pa. I know that California would be a wonderful place to visit, but I would never live there with all the liberal thinking people. Of course the earthquakes, the fires, the land slides would also worry me. I lived in Fl. for nine years and after 4 hurricanes hit the state in 2004, that convinced me to leave, even though we did not have any damage.

      • Wayne

By the way, Kate8, I was stationed in Victorville for a year back in 1956. That tells my age, doesn’t it?

      • Kate8

Wayne, We don’t have those things here in Northern Ca. I live very near the Nevada Border. The quakes and the mudslides are down south.

Until the past few years, my county was also one of the most conservative. Then the Bay Area folks discovered us.

    • Rychka

      Joan, you are so right.
I am an immigrant for 20 years in USA from Russia and I am so happy too and all my friends.
      God bless America!!!

      • Tom from Idaho

Rycha, Joan, If anyone can see the emergence of tyranny, you people surely can. I believe the two of you saw what was unfolding and saw all the “sheeple” going the way of the masses who haven’t seen this destruction coming, who have never studied history. It is very scary when you think about it, how regimes like Hitler and Stalin got started in the very same manner. I believe our current occupant of the White House is the closest thing to a dictator that we’ve ever had in this country and it takes people from outside our country to first recognize it!! The newly elected Marko Rubio (God bless him!) is another great example of this, an exile from the regime of one of Obama’s buddies, Fidel Castro. God Bless the two of you for recognizing this; you two who have lived the experience of socialism and communism and how basic human dignity and freedoms are usurped under such a regime – - very credible voices indeed!

      • Wayne

Kate8, thanks for straightening me out on this. Northern California, undoubtely, is a beautiful area. When I was in the military, back in 1957, I crossed this area, in February, we went past Lake Tahoe on our way to Travis Air Force Base, located near Oakland, Calif. heading to Japan. I have always remarked to people over the years how beautiful this area was. I remember a lot of snow, and the beautiful pine trees which were laden down with snow. I was traveling on a bus, and the highway patrol made the bus driver put on chains at the foot of some hill we were to be traveling on.

      • Wayne

Rychka, I think the folks who have lived in other countries, and came to live here, seem to like the United States better than some folks who have lived here all their lives, Why do you suppose that is? I think it is because they are spoiled brats, and do not accept responsibility. They want the government to keep them and let some one else pay for their keep, or maybe they are just plain stupid.

    • Wayne

Joan, thank you for your concern for our country. We really need everyones prayers, and concerns, that we can get. Our country is going through turmoil right before our very eyes, and even a lot of Americans can’t seem to see what has been happening to this nation, especially for the last two years. Our country is more divided now than I have ever seen. Our country seems to have lost its way for the last 20 or 30 years. We need to reestablish honesty in ourselves, and in our government leaders. Thanks to the Tea Party for trying to bring that back into existence. Thank you again for sharing your concerns.

      Hey Gary,
I had no idea that Grayson was as you put it “odious.”
I became aware of him via youtube when he was questioning Bernanke about where the bailout money went. Whats the real skinny in this guy?

      • Jeep

Grayson is the guy that accused Republican’s of wanting sick people “to die quickly” during the health care debates. His opponent, Webster was a seasoned politician with a reputable war record. Unfortunately for the flamboyant Grayson, he accused Webster of being a terrorist and called him “Taliban Dan”. Grayson was caught lying to the Democratic Underground while fundraising (it was so bad that liberal hack Chris Mathews even called him out on it.) He openly blamed former President Bush for 9-11. And, whole host of other gaffs combined to make it clear that Grayson is unstable and unfit.

      • Wayne

Dr. Mabuse, it didn’t take me very long to figure out that Grayson was a disgrace to Congress. I truly was not impressed with some of the things he had to say. I am glad that this clown did not make it again. I don’t know why the folks in Florida would ever vote for him in the frist place. I guess this is another case of voting for some one when you don’t know who what they stand for. Of course, I am referring to NObama.

There’s another one comming up! Youngstown Ohio’s James Trafficant is going to run in the next election and it wouldn’t suprise me if he wins. He was put into jail for kick-backs and recieving bribes in the form of gifts!!!

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Berberoni,
I guess I was only partly right. He ran this election and lost this time. Not to worry he will be back!!!! Bad pennies always turn up!!

      • Wayne

Marvin, the voters are either misinformed, or very stupid to vote for a man like this. It goes to show that a lot of voters are voting for people they do not have any clue who they are voting for. If both parties would vet their respective candidates, this could all be eliminated. If any person has a felony record, that should disquality them from ever running for any public office, any where in the country. We don’t need this type of person to have power over anyone.

    • Ellen0

I am not only delighted that Grayson is out, I do not understand how he got elected in the first place. However, it did not take long for the people who voted for him to take a good look at this creep and throw him out.

    • Dagney

Actually, since I was born and raised in the beautiful state of California, there is a LOT that could happen to have made this election much more satisfying. Granted, Meg Whitman was not a great choice, but JERRY BROWN again? Really? Oh, and Prop 23 went down in flames, so you can probably already see more businesses fleeing this state. I was very depressed Tuesday night. Why are people so STUPID in this state? However, seeing the results all over the rest of the country, the governorships and states legislatures has been wonderful. California, well, she needs a LOT of work.

      • Vigilant

The governor of Texas was saying yesterday that, since the first of the year, over 150 businesses had left CA.

      • http://yahoo N COOPER

This is true because I work for a California based company that will be moving to another state. They are a very large company. I hope CA wakes up real soon….. I am talking about the corporate office.A worldwide company.

      • Wayne

I just heard the other night on TV that the United States has lost over 45,400 businesses since 2001. Passing Nafta certainly did not help the situation any. President Clinton signed this into law on Sept 14, 1993. This bill was also hailed by George Bush, Jimmy Carter, President Ford and Vice President Al Gore. I guess the Republican had their hands all over this one. I have never agreed with this bill, and I never will. Of course, they said it would help our businesses and manufacturing base. I think it is the reason why all of our manufacturing base left the United States. Shame on the Republicans for backing President Clinton on this.

      • Kinetic1

Of course the Republicans backed NAFTA, it was one of many ideas that Clinton co-opted from them. Remember, it was Reagan who gave us the US/Canada trade agreement and Bush 1 worked up the idea of NAFTA with Canada and Mexico just before handing over the reigns to Clinton in ’93. Clinton mad a few tweeks to “protect American workers” and the congress finally passed it in Nov. of ’93. In fact, the roll call shows that more than half of the Dems voted against NAFTA while only one quarter of Republicans opposed it. Just one more reason to ignore the claims that Clinton was a major Liberal.

      • Jana

I remember Clinton going to Mexico a year before he even became President to work on NAFTA. Hmmmm.

      • Vigilant

The hype surrounding NAFTA is just that, hype.

Studies have shown that congressional votes to approve or disapprove NAFTA originated more from local impact on constituencies than from political ideology per se. To paint NAFTA strictly as a baby of the Republicans is disingenuous. Numbers aside, you’ll find many left-leaning Dems in the “yea” column.

NAFTA’s ultimate impact on the US economy has been shown to be minimal at best. The Unions’ claims that massive job losses would result have been proven wrong. Migration of jobs to foreign countries has been accelerated by progressive, not conservative, policies (over-regulation, confiscatory taxation and environmentalist moratoria).

      • Kinetic1

Yes, those damn environmental standards. Just because China’s air pollution can be found wafting it’s way across the oceans to America is no reason to have high standards here! Take a look at the factories we employ over seas. We would never let our children work under these conditions, yet some of us defend corporations who leave our shores because we expect them to provide safe, clean and responsible factories. Hey, how about we pass a law that prohibits the import of products built in factories that do not meet our nation’s standards, no matter where they are based. When companies abandon us because we expect them to be good neighbors, then they deserve to be cut off.

      • Vigilant

        Kinetic1:

        “Yes, those damn environmental standards.”

You need to make up your mind, old buddy; One of the things that held up quick passage of NAFTA was application of environmental standards. The standards were applied, NAFTA passed. When you diss NAFTA, you’re dissing those standards, too.

My comment dealt with the reasons why jobs leave the US, and those are primarily the result of progressive ideas (like environmental over-regulation). Whatever your feeling about environmentalism may be, at least admit the truth that over-regulation is one of the reasons jobs go overseas.

If you have any lingering doubts about that fact, consider California’s self-imposed nemesis of industry leaving the state in droves: directly attributable to over-regulation and over-taxation.

      • Brad

        Dagney,

I spent a good majority of my youth growing up in California, a product of their school system also. The problem with California, they are still stuck in the 70′s, re-electing the same representation and failed policies that has put the state 120 billion in debt and with over a trillion in unfunded liabilities to unions and retiring employee’s. California has to tighten their belt, cut social spending cut every single union salary by 50% to include making them pay some of their so called benefits. Right now one of the more serious problems in California are the Unions, they have been the cause for one city, the one city I grew up in, to file for bankruptcy protection. I still have friends still living in Vallejo, they have been telling me gang’s, drugs and various criminal elements have taken over the city, the police do not go into certain parts after night. Schools have closed, business has moved out due to the criminals, the military is gone and Mare Island is still undeveloped (thank Boxer & Fianstien). California is still a mess and if the state legislature doesn’t reign in the states spending California may be putting itself up for sale and China may be the buyer, just a thought.

      • Bruce S

Just a thought, why does California allow payments/support for parents of anchor babies? Children born of illegal Mexican immigrants are by Mexican law still Mexican citizens. By the very nature of being an illegal immigrant/squatter, the US immigration laws do not have legal jurisdiction on the family and therefore the family has no rights to any state or federal funds. if california would cut out all these fraudulent and illegal payments, they might stand a chance of balancing their budget. But nooo…., blind is good. Hi i am a whale, i am in a swimming pool, i must be ok. LMAO

      • usnpops

Speaking of California, we spent many years there back in the 60′s and 70′s during my Naval Career. We especially enjoyed our twilight tour in Pt. Mugu California. The Oxnard area was so clean, and beautiful then. There was a feeling of properity and class to the area.

We returned to Oxnard for a few days in March of this year, and it was a totally different place than we remembered. There were buildings closed and fenced off, business’ closed and boarded up, what looked to be derelict travel trailers parked in lots and people living in them. Junky cars all over the place, some looked to be broken down and abandoned where they sat.

And the filth and garbage everywhere we drove was totally apalling. I am not a racist, but the majority of folks we met and saw were Hispanics. Maybe that has nothing to do with it, but????

      • Craig

USNpops. The hispanics have a lot to do with it. Every single city in this state that is over run with hispanics is shit hole. That is what they do.

      • Wayne

I just hope and pray that the rest of the nation does not have to bail California out of this fiasco. They got themselves in mess, and I say let them get themselves out of the mess. I would be very unhappy, as well as most other Americans, if this government ever decides to bail them out. When people have to sit on their own blister after making a screwup, they will have history to fall back on and most likely will not make the same mistake again.

      • Warrior

And this is how the democrat’s patronage system works. Same models in Chicago, NY and the large cities on Calif. Once the army is in place it is literally impossible to compete against. Look at the the absurd results from those places and nothing changed. Three states with massive pension obligations that cannot be met and the party that caused the problem stays in power? Defies logic doesn’t it!

Oblama and his cronies are attempting to take the democrat patronage scheme on a national tour. HC, Student Loans, Banking all have marvelous components of affirmative action which will lead to these industries being huge employers of democratic patronage workers. In fact, look at what happened with hiring of all the new IRS staff to collect all the added taxes to pay for HC. This is the main reason it is critical to disassemble this structure otherwise we will get 100 years of progressive rule. Quite insidious yes?

      • Wayne

And to think, we still have idiots supporting NObama. Incredible, isn’t it?

      • Kate8

Warrior, Believe it or not, many liberals in California actually blame the Republicans for all our problems. Republicans haven’t had any power for what – 2 decades?

Just goes to show how really stupid and ill-informed they are.

      • Brad

        Kate8,

Socialists in California need a scape goat, they would rather point the finger in the other direction instead at them selves. Until the liberals open their eyes, they are going to continue their failed policies until the day comes when California files for bankruptcy!

      • JeffH

Dagney, California’s majority just plain sucks…business as usual or should I say a lack of businesses as usual!
        Stupid is as stupid does!
Californian’s voted down Prop.19, legalizing mary jane…go figure! I do believe that legalizing LSD would have passed by a wide margin had there been a vote for it because most Californians are still “trippin’”.

      • Kate8

JeffH – And I heard that the proposition to delay the green agenda for 2 years failed! This means more rapid job losses!

I can only think that people didn’t understand the wording here. Either that, or they don’t care about jobs, since there are so many here on the dole.

Is there any hope for us here? As long as democrats are in control of the demographics, how can we hope to break free?

      • JeffH

Kate8, the immoral majority in California are just delutional, and that includes some very good freinds of mine. My best freind couldn’t understand why I wouldn’t vote for the $18 DMV fee for the campgrounds because I like to camp. No matter what I said he couldn’t understand my position, and the same with Brown and Boxer. He lives in Berkely and fully supports the Global Warming scam too. he’s let the Berkely mentality indoctrinate him. I’m never talking politics with my freinds again and I’ll start planning on my exit from California within the next year or so.

      • Kate8

JeffH, We need MORE good people, not fewer. Are we ready to concede defeat? Sigh.

Actually, I think about leaving, too. Let me know if you find somewhere promising, because sooner or later all the states will follow suit if California isn’t reigned in.

I love where I live. I love the climate, the flora and fauna, and I’ve spent years landscaping and fixing up my little cottage. It’s just what I’ve always wanted. I really hate being driven out.

I’ve been all over the western US and haven’t found anywhere as nice as where I am. If it weren’t for there being so many liberals it would be perfect.

      • http://none Mike

Come to tennessee we elected republicans across the bord here. And for 8 years before that we had a democratic governer who was actually good. He dissassembled the former governers Ten Care program and saved this state close to 1 bill in unfunded liabilities. :) Mike L.

      • Palin12

        JeffH
During my last year in california I paid $2,400 in CA state income tax. The next year in Nevada I paid ZERO state income tax. A nice chunk of change left in my wallet!

      • Craig

The bill will also be raising our energy cost a lot. Some estimates as high as 60%. The average electric bill may be gong up by $1400 a year.

I say screw them. I urge every Californian to write your legislator and governor. Tell them for every penny, dime and dollar your energy costs goes up due to this bill, you will deduct same amount from your taxes. Time to play hardball with these A-holes.

      • Lewis Munn

Is this why they are called “DEMO-graphics”??

      • JeffH

Craig, I write my federal legislators frequently, Boxer, Feinstein and Nunes along with the state legislators and the governor.
Generic responses from all but Devin Nunes and outgoing Dave Cogdil…the rest could care less what I have to say but I refuse to stop and will continue until I migrate to another state.

      • Jana

        Craig and Jeff,
They need to have their salaries reduced by the amount the electricity goes up. That is what would hurt them the most.

      • Kate8

Palin 12, I have friends who moved to Nevada and, while they saved on income tax, their property taxes nearly killed them. They are reassessed every year and they really got nailed.

Prop. 13 is one of the few things California has going for it. If the democrats have their way, they’ll throw that out, too, and people will really start losing their homes, especially the seniors.

      • Palin12

        Kate
I am sorry about your friend’s property tax. Mine actually went down from $1,300 a year to $800 a year and my Nevada property is twice the size of my former Calif. property.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Because its like living in a bowl of granola – What isnt fruits and nuts, is flakes. You tell me how people in a state can continually elect the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Barbara Boxer? How can you do this to your state? And elect the Terminator as your Governor with no experience? Can all of you not look around you and see whats going on with your state getting flushed down the toilet? Do you all just not give a damn? I dont get it. Kick those out of office that are causing this. You dont re-elect them. What the heck are you people doing?

      • Kate8

Beberoni, believe me, we keep trying.

The politicians controll the demographics by flooding us with illegal aliens and third-world immigrants, as well as unions. With LA and SF pretty much controlling the outcomes, it’s really frustrating.

      • http://poehw@comcast.net Flip one over

Does not anyone get it????. There are more takers in California then there are givers and everyone knows that thats the tipping point. Cal is no longer a state, it has turned into a pot smoking, gimme more freebes, tow in you car and use it for a hotel, Progressive area that happens to be bordered by the United States and the Pacific ocean I do not care how beautiful it is, or where it is located. It has been taken over and I fear that the rest of us who are still givers will have to give some more.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Berberoni,
I think with the Terminator, they voted him in hoping for another actor/governor as in Reagan!! Instead they got an actor/fool!!!

      • Kate8

Joe H. – In all fairness, Arnold went to ‘kick butt’ in Sacramento. Of couse, he was up against a democrat legislature. So he took some good ideas to the people for a vote, and the unions spent millions campaigning against him.

The people who voted him in voted him down. He threw up his hands.

        Stupid, stupid, stupid.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        kate8,
all you have to do is look at who he is married to and you KNOW he isn’t a real republican! She is a member of the kennedy clan! Old Joe Kennedy would roll in his grave if a kennedy ever married a true republican and the ground isn’t disturbed over his grave!! Believe me all he was doing is putting up a front!! He knew before hand that those bills would be defeated!!

      • Wayne

Come on Dagney, we all know why California vote the way they do. You have too many people who are not true American Citizens, too many pot smokers, and too many folks who think the rest of the country owes them a living. California is a beautiful state, but I would never want to live in that state due to the above reason. I forgot to mention the forest fires, the mudslides, and the earthquakes.

  • http://ByGeorge By George

    Rigidity and Saying “No!”

President Obama (may peace be upon him) is hopeful that the new Republican House of Representatives will become so rigid in clinging to its professed conservative principles that it will self-destruct. No such luck there I’m afraid! Here in Gilmer County the local GOP’s efforts to get out the vote and to vote Republican, included among other efforts, installing big signs around the county that proclaimed: “Put ‘NO’ back into November, Vote Republican”. I hope we were not lying to the voters because that cost us some serious bucks. Rigidity, or rather a measure of backbone in our new electees, was the desired goal of that effort. That was the desired goal nation wide too. First, the winning GOP candidates are now faced with a obstacle to test their rigidity in the form of still in office RINO’s who will attempt to co-opt them to the old way of thinking. The answer to that, of course, is “No thanks, go pound sand!”

As for the Democrats, it is now their turn to compromise with us or as Obama (may peace be upon him) so succinctly put it, “we won! so, they can ride in the back of the bus.” Our side should set the premises upon which government policies are based and future actions taken. That will be a really big job because the Progressives have spent decades slowly preparing us to think like them. As good fortune would have it, the Republicans did not capture the US Senate but just enough of it to foul up the works. The next two years can be blissful gridlock or preparing for the next election, the one that will show Obama (may peace be upon him) the road and allow the new GOP to replace Trent Lott’, Lindsey Graham, John McCain, Saxby Chambliss, those two idiots from Maine, and a few others whose names do not illuminate the conservative horizon, and install acceptable conservative leaders in their place.

Our guy’s should stand rigid against any further spending for any more entitlement programs that is not allowed by the Constitution. They should remain rigid against implementing any programs based upon discredited theories of climate change. That tawdry business was formulated by lies based upon false research, indeed manufactured data, that proves no such thing as man caused climate change but that did enriched Al Gore. So, Cap and Trade should be repudiated immediately so it doesn’t rear its ugly head again, ever. I want my incandescent light bulbs back. Earmarks, small as they really are, should also be on the chopping block as should be support of unions. Like climate change, unions are redundant and should be closed.

Another thing the new Republicans should look at is ineffective government management practices. Why for example is $18 million in stimulus funds being paid to dead people? Why is $3.9 million being spent by HHS for heating and cooling costs for dead folks? Why does the Dept. of Agriculture spend $1.1 Billion for dead farmers? (GAO Report, June 2010). By the way, HHS also spends $15.2 million in housing subsidies for the dead. (HUD IG Report 10 Nov 2009) The Medicare subscription plan (Bush’s) pays out over $700,000. in prescriptions for 1800 people ho don’t need them because they too are dead. How about those 1200 dead doctors who are still writing prescriptions? Modern medicine is remarkable, isn’t it?. Well, this list goes on and on and on.

It’s time to seriously get a handle on these spending abuses. Its time for our politicians to remain rigid, uncompromising and to stop adding useless programs to our debt. If we don’t do it, the TEA party will. They have tasted success. It’s their mandate, they are watching and they are about ready to lead. Go get ‘em! (05 Nov 2010)

The elections don’t mean squat. While people are concentrating on the election the Fed is speeding up their agenda to destroy the economy. By the 2012 election the economy will be kaput and money will be worthless.

      • Bleh

That’s when the Sheep will truly wake up and we may see some heads role, literally.

      • Lewis Munn

Yup, the main diet in government circles will become lamb chops.

      • Jana

It seems they already are feasting on lamb chops now. Especially in New York, California and Nevada.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Lewis Munn,
If they mistake me for a sheep, they will find I’m one tough old sheep!!! I’ll be causing a lot of indigestion!!

      • Jana

        Joe H.,
We have a friend that always says in these cases, “I am one tough old goat, and I have horns.”

We have a farm with Longhorns, and after watching them use those horns to pick up a can, and chase off wild animals, I have a LOT of respect for animals with horns. I only go out in the midst of them with my husband as he knows these animals very well, and they know him. He says you never trust a wild animal, and I don’t.

One of my friends took her litle boy to the Arberetum in Austin. They have a cow with smaller horns made out of cement and she had her 3 yr. old son in her arms and was letting him touch her nose and mama said “nose” and the child said “nose”. Then she touched its horns and she said “horns” and the little boy touched her horns and went “honk honk”.

      • Jana

By the way, he is now 13 and very embarrassed by that story.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

If that is true, then we wont have to worry about the democrats buying votes from the unions and all their special interest groups.

      • Wayne

I have been hearing that the Feds were going to do Quantitative Easing. That is they are going to put more money in circulation which will devalue the dollar. As an example: what will cost you a dollar now will cost you around $1.10 more after this is put into effect. Another one of NObama’s fiasco. Prices will rise on all items. You will most likely notice it in the grocery stores first. Below is the defintion of “Quantitave Easing” My wife said she has already noticed it.

        Investopedia explains Quantitative Easing

Central banks tend to use quantitative easing when interest rates have already been lowered to near 0% levels and have failed to produce the desired effect. The major risk of quantitative easing is that although more money is floating around, there is still a fixed amount of goods for sale. This will eventually lead to higher prices or inflation.

      • Wayne

Oh! I forgot to mention. The Democrats will be glad to hear that they will be paying more on goods that they buy, especially groceries. Democrats, this is what your getting for supporting NObama and his policies. Arn’t you so happy now? The only bad thing about this is that we, the Republicans will suffer rightr along with your blunder.

  • J.M.R.

WELL DON’T GET HAPPY ABOUT BOEHNER I;VE HEARD HIM TALKING OUT OF BOTH SIDES OF HIS MOUTH. I WON’T SUPPORT THE RNC BECAUSE OF M STEELE HE NEEDS TO STEP DOWN BUT LIKE THE DICK-TATER THATS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.I ALSO THINK VOTER FRAUD WON A FEW OF THE RACES THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN WON BY REPUBS.ANOTHER THING THAT SCALDS ME IS THE FACT THEY CAN’T SEEM TO SEE THAT OUR SOLDERS DON’T GET THE BALLOTS IN A TIMELY MANNER.

    • Laura Ayala

I read yesterday on one of the political blogs for conservatives that our soldiers fighting were not sent absentee ballots. The first people to be mailed absentee ballots were prisoners.

      • Jana

        Laura,
I heard that too, and that is just plain wrong on the part of the states that failed to get those ballots out. they should be fined and fined heavily.

      • Granny Mae

I agree! Soldiers should get their balots first and then all the rest !

      • Wayne

Yes! of course because because they know that the prisoners would vote Democratic, and the Military would most likely support the Republicans. Most of the folks in the military are responsible citizens so there fore they would vote for the Republican or Conservative party. There is a lot of dirty things going on in the voting booth. I don’t think they want to change it. It would hurt the Democrats.

      • Michael J.

        Wayne,
Right you are about the Military support for Republicans. And that is why our Military is currently being targeted for infiltration by the gay community who predominately vote Democrat. This is yet another tenacle of Political Correctness and its ongoing persuit of the collapse of western society.
Political Correctness also played a part in the Fort Hood massacre when fellow soldiers did not speak out about the actions of Major Nidal Hasan leading up to his shooting spree for fear of being labeled racist.

      • Wayne

Michael J, you are right on. I don’t like to use a strong word like hate, but I hate all this political correctness crap. It is ruining this country and getting people killed as we all know that it got the soldiers killed at Fort Hood. Shortcuts like XMAS, for Christmas, Happy Holidays for Merry Christman is another thing that rubs me the wrong way. Let’s get back to our basic principles, closer to the founders of our great Constitution. With principles we would all be closer, and united, instead of being divided. The old adage again, united we stand, divided we fall. Just look back at how this country was united during WW2. With all the dingbats we have in this country today, I just hope that we never have another war like that, or we would fact certain defeat, and maybe even annihilation.

      • Granny Mae

        Wayne,

I think you are right and I agree with you. We do need to get back to our roots !

  • Anthony

Dave’s right …. only as long as the mandate causes these politicians to do what WE expect of them … will it cause the change WE are looking for.

I do not trust Mitch McConnell – I think he’s a coward (and greedy).
I do not trust Michael Steele – for the same reasons

Only Ron Paul and his Son, Rand … look to have real cajones in DC
Truth is – both Ron and Rand should convert to Libertarian in the near future.

I know I’m not votin’ for either the the Donkey or the fat elephant in the room… any more.

    What say ye?

    • Bitter Libertarian

Its amazing, Americans are forced into “diversity”, multiple choices in just about everything, YET the one aspect that has the greatest effect on your lively hood, finances, and life, they are coimpletely relaxed with 2 choices. Mind boggling!

      • DaveH

        Can you say “baa-a-a, baa-a-a”?

    • hanna

Amen and amen to the one who declared americans to be constitutionally correct instaed of politically correct..you got it!! Oh if everyone would think same. We need to shout that on the rooftops. Lots of wisdom in that sentence.

    • Harold Olsen

I’m with you except for Ron Paul. There’s something about him that bothers me but it’s something I am not able to define. The last time I voted for a Democrat for president was in 1972. Yeah, I was one of the dozen or so idiots who voted for McGovern. I cheered when he lost. Even though I was a Democrat until 1978 I never again voted for a Democrat and never will again. I won’t say I won’t vote for a Republican. I’m an Independent. I would have to see who is running first. I will only vote for someone whom I deem to be a TRUE conservative. Right now, none of the Republicans I’ve heard named as possible candidates are what I would call TRUE conservatives, including Gingrich, among others. My days of voting for the lesser of two evils is over. I’ll be looking closely at third party candidates if I don’t like the Republican candidate and I will vote for the person whom I believe in whether they have a chance of winning or not. I consider voting for someone I DON’T believe in to be wasting my vote.

      • DaveH

        Kudos, Harold.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

My path is similar. I voted and was raised a democrat, until Ronald Reagan came along, then I switched and I stayed there. I still much, much prefer the Republicans to the Democrats, as the liberal have degressed to be very anti-American. And the Republicans much to my dismay did not reign in spending. I was looking at the libertarians, and unlike a lot of voters, I choose to educate myself as to who the candidates are, where they are from, what they stand for, and what their party stands for. I really like a lot of the things the Libertarians stand for, but sometimes it seems on the edge of anarchy on some things, where it seems they want to cut all government controls out, and you cannot do that. Oh yes, it definately needs cut back big time, in a huge way, and no one can doubt that. But there has to still be something to govern and keep things legal and in control. And from all Ive seen, they seem to be fine with kicking God to the curb, and I myself cannot and will not vote for a Godless party, and that is exactly why I dont vote democrat anymore. Its that simple. Give me God and country, and your representing my ideals. Either one of them is missing, and my vote will be missing from you.

      • Lewis Munn

There are more than 3 Parties, organized and functional.

It is just that like my nearby town’s paper, that organized a debate and had it televised, they ONLY allowed Republicans and Democrats to debate, and refused all other organized parties! Period.

        The reason given?

Letting other viewpoints besides the DemoPublicans be expressed would “confuse the public”!!

This is how much the DemoPublicans think of your mental abilities!!!

So why do we vote for them? And not grow the little parties with good ideas with our support and votes??

The ballot in my town used to have space for write-in’s, but now with computerized voting, that space is gone! Computers cannot handle it! Or so the DemoPublicans say!

    • DaveH

      I agree, Anthony.
I used to vote Republican whenever there wasn’t a Libertarian on the ticket. But after the latest round of property tax increases in a bad economy, I emailed my Republican reps (the majority in our state legislature) and told them I was through voting for Republicans. I believe now that voting for them only rubber stamps their bad behavior.

    • Bleh

If they do convert to the L instead of the R they will lose needed sheep votes.

    • http://?? Joe H.

      Anthony,
I’m going to see what happens here and now before I make up my mind on that. If the repubs listen this time I’ll continue to vote them in. If they don’t then I will vote independant. I will, however, take a wait and see attitude for the next two years.

  • DaveH

Like most restraining orders, this one also will be ineffective unless the parties involved have honor and integrity.

    • JRC

And they do not have that, anyone watching and listening to the ads on radio and TV, with an open mind not clouded by party line blinders and personal dislike of people could see and hear the blatant lies that where produced by all parties involved. Unfortunately most of the sheep and this is meant for both sides..did discard the lies, had they’re party line blinders on and went to vote.
Does ANYONE really believe ANYTHING will change? Nothing, absolute nothing will change. The change in the US is not driven by individual politicians but by the people behind the scene that do NOT care about you or me or the million other sheep out there that had the wool pulled over they’re eyes. There will be some bickering going on in DC to appease the sheep and to put up a show, but the direction of this country will NOT change. If you would plot the march of this country toward a one world quasi socialist world order on a graph in a spread sheet you would see that it is essential a linear process…yes there are some wiggles in the curve…mostly to appease the voting sheep if the powers to be went ahead a little to fast….but essentially, the march always continues…..and it is a march we the voters have NOTHING to say about….we are just the pawns in the chess game.
In the end, we will end up with a upper ruling class, a nanny one world government and we the people will be the slaves to be culled to just the right amount to support the ruling class….because if there are too many, there will always be the danger of an uprising. As much as I adore my children, I in a way regret bringing them into this world as there is NO future for them and they’re children nothing but slavery.

      • Bleh

JRC, if what you say is true then all I got to say is they better take the Guns before they seal the deal. Because then the Constitution is visibly no longer valid and there is nothing left but forceful restoration.

      • Lewis Munn

Just read Orwell’s “Animal Farm” and especially “1984″. I think you will understand more of the issues, even tho the books are older.

Some of the equipment Orwell envisioned is already in place; I know because I and other engineers installed it! Just waiting to be activated!

Others is still being invented, but it is on the way. Full wall TV is not far away, nor is 2-way monitoring.

Read them, and see if you weep.

    • Harold Olsen

Honor and integrity in DC? Maybe in some alternate reality but not this one.

      • Granny Mae

Isn’t it terrible that we have come to feel this way? I wish it wasn’t so but I have to agree with you.

  • s c

    • Dan az

      Agreed!

      • BLUEEYESOL

I think they should all be charged with treason and whoever does not uphold their oath to protect and defend the Constitution should be impeached at least and prosecuted at best! Where else can you be in breach of contract or oath and still keep your position of power with no retribution? We the People, especially those in positions of power need to prosecute these treasonist criminals!

My God, please help those of us who still believe in your divine protection and that our rights come from you, not man or government of man, help us rid the country of these betrayers and heathens! Amen!

    • Dr. Mabuse

I knew that hatchet faced witch (Pelosi) was no good. What tipped me off was back in ’06 when she came into power, the 1st words out of her mouth after going up into the White House and polishing Dubya’s knob was: “They’ll be no talk of impeachment.” From that point forward, its been all downhill.

      • Bob Wire

“w” impeachment was not a constructive move. Equal to closing the gate after the cows were already out. Just too late! It would have been a long hard fought process, an embarrassment to the office and the American people. Not to mention we didn’t have enough hard evidence at the time.

More the same with Obama as some call for his impeachment, the evidence just isn’t there. Only the desire.

      • spike

You know, Bob, and others…why do we even talk the “impeachment” talk, because we back it up with nothing. NO-THING! Bill Clinton was not removed from office after he was caught in a huge moral lie, and sexual harrassment, and whatever ACORN would now call it. If that moron was not impeached and removed, then even this purple lipped ass will not be. And he knows it. He swaggered up to the podium on Wednesday to pay “purple lip service ” to the elected, and take his small swipes at the fact that “we’re happier on some days than others”… So, if we have no hard evidence against him, then we’re stuck! So hold these people, and John Boehner accountable! Stop talking about what we DON’T HAVE and celebrate what we DO HAVE!. Enough of the useless bitching! Let’s move FORWARD America. Get our tails out from between our legs, and Move Forward!

      • http://yahoo nick

Spike you are truly a pos and your bigotry screams so. Next time you see purple, look in the mirror to remind yourself of the pos that you are!

      • Kate8

Bob, If you did your homework you would know that the evidence is not only there, but more than overwhelming, against Obama.

They just can’t find a judge willing to risk career (possibly even life) to hear the case. Certainly not more than a handful of congressmen would speak up for the same reason, except to mollify their constituents.

The judges are dangling on strings just like the members of Congress. We’ll see how many of the newly-elected maintain their sense of integrity when the Big Machine starts to put on the pressure.

      • Bob Wire

High Crimes and Treason , Madam/Sir

You know of them? Can prove them?

otherwise, you are kicking a dead horse.

My statements are accurate and represent the views of most Americans, I only need to defend them here among radicals that wish to argue with the devil.

WMD’s was a false pretext for war. The pressure placed on Joe Wilson’s “bad news” and sequential indictment of Scooter Libby was all “cover up” and at this juncture can never be proven with the commuted sentence of Scooter Libby via presidential pardon.

Yep-p’ee Ki-yi Ya! End of story. Not worth the effort to pursue and we have bigger fish to fry.

Man reaches for “Vengeance” when no justice is to be found, but vengeance belongs only to the Lord, man is standing on a slippy slope to venture there.

      • Vigilant

Bob Wire has shown his ignorance again.

“w” impeachment was not a constructive move. Equal to closing the gate after the cows were already out. Just too late!”

You obviously don’t understand our Constitutional system of justice in America. Impeachment and conviction are always and necessarily done AFTER the alleged crime is committed, gate closed. Prior restraint doesn’t allow impeachment based on things you think MIGHT happen (kind of like Obama getting the Nobel Prize for what he might do).

President Bush committed no impeachable offense. You know damn well the Dems would have pushed it if they thought they had a chance of succeeding. And don’t give me this “Patriot Act” BS. Congress voted for it (Dems and Repubs alike), it is Constitutional, and Obama w/ Congress extended it.

Clinton committed perjury, an impeachable offense, and the gutless Democrats prevented his conviction by voting purely along party lines to trash the Constitution.

Obama’s impeachability derives from his wanton disregard for the Constitution, failing to enforce Federal laws (immigration, voter intimidation), and signing into law a program that unconstitutionally forces individuals to purchase a commercial product (health care fiasco).

The only reason he won’t be impeached is that the Dems would again vote along party lines, and it takes 2/3 majority to convict. Some highly principled people, these Democrats!

      • Jana

And don’t forget his relentless attacks on Arizona.

      • eddie47d

Vigilante;yada, yada Get off the Clinton merry-go-round. The whole impeachment issue was a set up and by Linda Tripp and Monica Lewinsky. We all know the Republicans and Democrats had urgent business to take care of but this was just too juicy of an issue to pass up. It became a real headline grabber for the Republicans. Opportunity doesn’t knock often enough for the mudslingers. Obama has been working on the immigration issue. Oh,it’s not to you’re liking so that becomes an impeachment issue! The issue would have been front and center but those pesky little Republicans screwed up the economy so other problems became even more urgent. We’ll see what happens in the coming year. Yes, immigration better be on the table.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        edduhhhhh48DUHS!
Yeah, Monica and Linda planted his DNA on that dress!!! That was one GOOD trick! No pun intended!!!

      • Kinetic1

If Obama could be impeached for “failing to enforce Federal laws (immigration..” then so could Bush. In fact, the numbers show that this administration is deporting more illegals then the Bush administration! Also, Bush admits to ordering water-boarding during his time in office. As that act is considered torture by the conventions we signed, Bush has admitted to another impeachable offense.

As for Clinton, the Republicans spent millions and wasted years trying to find something to pin on Clinton and all they could do was catch him lying about his sex life. That was the most worthless impeachment hearing ever conceived and deserved no more then what it produced.

      • Vigilant

        eddie:

It’e not just the ignorance of the left that irks me, it’s the disregard for the rule of law.

I repeat: Clinton committed perjury, an impeachable offense. It doesn’t matter if it was a shoplifting charge; it became an impeachable offense the moment he lied under oath. And there’s no way out of it!

The repeated attempts by the liars like you to perpetuate the myth that it was about sexual peccadilloes is worse than dishonest.

      • eddie47d

You have no idea what is important and what is truly urgent. Maybe when you look at the economy or al Qaeda as being more important instead of someones sexual act;then I might listen . You hide behind controvsey instead of solutions. That makes you part of the problem.

      • Vigilant

        eddie,

        Your ignorance would fill volumes.

“You have no idea what is important and what is truly urgent.”

Your absolute failure to understand that perjury by the chief law enforcement officer of the United States is an impeachable crime simply proves my point about thick-headed ignoramus’ on the left. When will you and other 4th-grade-educated fools understand that it was about PERJURY, not sex? Never, I guess.

Absolute disrespect for the rule of law is what the left is all about. Don’t use the tools provided by the Constitution to effect change, just bypass, circumvent, sidestep or flat violate its provisions to get your way.

“You hide behind controvsey instead of solutions. That makes you part of the problem.”

And you, my fine feathered friend, hide behind propaganda and falsehoods. Logical discussions of fact are a phenomenon with which you have no acquaintance.

      • Vigilant

        kinetic:

“If Obama could be impeached for “failing to enforce Federal laws (immigration..” then so could Bush.

Yes, and Obama and Holder took it well beyond failure to enforce, they are now actively obstructing justice with their frivolous law suit against Arizona. If you think that is in any way justified, then you have no respect for the Constitution.

“In fact, the numbers show that this administration is deporting more illegals then the Bush administration!”

Odd you should punctuate that with an exclamation point, as if it conclusively disproves Obama’s aiding and abetting illegal immigration. Double a trickle of weater and all you get is a larger trickle of water. To even imply that Obama is serious about our national security in stemming the flow of illegals to this country is worse than disingenuous; it’s intellectual dishonesty!

And then you have the audacity to claim, “Also, Bush admits to ordering water-boarding during his time in office. As that act is considered torture by the conventions we signed, Bush has admitted to another impeachable offense.”

Thank you, Mr. Bader-Ginsburg, for appealing to international covenants and protocols to indict what you perceive as bad behavior. There was an important document ratified in 1789 that lays out what’s legal and illegal in this country. You would do well to read it some time.

      • Kinetic1

        Vigilant,
Let’s see, in the Constitution, Article 2, section 2 clause 2, we have the Treaty Clause. As a result, it is generally accepted that in American law international accords become part of the body of U.S. federal law. Under Article 2, the President must have consent from the Congress to make such treaties, and they must, in general approve the end of an approved treaty as well. I don’t recall Congress giving President Bush the go ahead to torture before or after the fact. Just because Bush felt that he could make law as he went, often using “signing statements” to exempt himself from new laws does not mean that he is not guilty.

We prosecuted Japanese soldiers for torture when they water-boarded Americans during WWII, and just because we decided to change our definition of torture when we wanted to use it doesn’t excuse us. Bush violated the Geneva Conventions, and until the Congress agrees to end our support of that group of treaties, they are part of our American law.

      • eddie47d

Vigilante; You are playing the same game with Obama as you did with Clinton. Destroy, lie, manipulate the facts and then go in for the kill. • Granny Mae

        Eddie

We already have laws in place for the immigration problem , trouble is you precious Obama won’t do his duty and enforce them ! Also the homeland security has the authority to take care of it and Napolitano won’t do her job either ! Because of this Obama can and should be impeached immediately !

      • Vigilant

If I were king for a day, I would mandate that the “enthusiasm gap shall not diminish!” I only fear that American’s will become complacent…again. Liberal’s take note: this was not about electing Republican’s, it was a refutation of the policies of the current administration. Oh yeah, and Republicans should take note as well.

    • Proud to be a Christian

Yeah yeah yeah. I also didn’t know about the committee’s and also the defunding that is marvelous. To assist taking back our country, I have written my congressman on behalf of my voting family and congradulated him on his win and making sure he knew we voted for him and then went in great detail about the things that I am looking forward to him being involved in changing. Believe me it was a long list starting with Obamacare and listing all the things that were in the bill that had nothing to do with healthcare and not to repeal, to throw out because it is unconstitutional and start over. Then I have an email group that I send emails to everyday, some funny, some informative etc., and I asked all of them to do the same and advising they could use my letter and just change the names or send their own. Anyway, we shall see what transpires. My congressman sends at least weekly updates of what is going on in Congress. People don’t forget about Eric Canter, the Senate Whip who has the Youcut program. I am sending him a letter also, that they should look at every program that is presently be funded by the US Goverment and eliminate duplicates, believe me there are many many duplicates, get rid of agencies that are doing nothing. I receive from him weekly, Congressional agenda’s for the week. Believe people it is hilarious. For weeks on end they are busy naming post offices. I couldn’t believe it!!!!!!

I want him tried and convicted for being an enemy of the state. There, that should give you job security for at least 10 years.

Look it up. 14 percent unemployement under this guys tutelage. Shame on you Nevada folks if you indeed did vote for this loser.

      • Wayne

I heard that around 90 percent of the Hispanics voted for Dirty Harry Reid. He doesn’t care about the Hispanic People, he just wooed them to get their vote. Harry is like a snake in the grass. I would not trust him one iota. I guess when Sharon Angle made the statement that she was going to enforce the border laws against illegals this made the Hispanics panick, and vote for dirty Harry. Of course, I am sure Harry feels the same way, but didn’t have the guts to speak his peace.

      • eddie47d

        No eddy,

      • Jana

Sorry eddie, I didn’t mean to misspell your name.

      • Kate8

Everyone knows the elections in places like Nevada and California were dirty. The unions spend huge sums buying the loyalties of weasels like Reid, Boxer, Brown…and outright lying in their campaign ads. Then they intimidate the union members by having big bosses strong-arm the ones who are wavering.

These practices have become acceptable for some reason, feeding people distortions and outright lies and even threats. We need to put a stop to this. People can’t make wise decisions when they are fed erroneous, convoluted information.

Had Meg Whitman won in California, we’d be having people thinking about building businesses here again. We’d be looking at hope for jobs. But because of lies and smears, we’ve got yet another democrat who will continue the downgrade and complete socialist takeover of this state.

We need REAL campaign reform. Beyond that, I don’t know what to do about an ignorant public incapable of reasoning out here. When you have a population of mostly third-world immigrants interested only in who promises the government checks…

I agree with this. I think before a person can vote he needs to be made aware of who is running in his/her district and know something about the back ground of the politician. He should be tested on this. I am sure if the folks had know about NObama’s background they would not have voted for him. I didn’t like McCain very well either, but I cast my vote for him over NObama. At least we knew something about McCain’s background and the fact he was a war veteran.

Katy8, Conservatism is about the four categories of principles, respect for the Constitution of the United States of America, our Republic, respect for Life, less government, and personal responsibility. The key to conservative principles is the ideology of protecting the peoples rights. Any politician that compromises is giving up on his or hers integrity, values and beliefs, in turn yielding to the opposition’s principles.

The only thing I can bring myself to believe is that Mass. just wanted to elect a crook to continue to rob and steal from the federal trough to bring home more illegal bacon.

This election definitely speaks volumes of the character of the people of Mass. I have lost all respect for the people of this state and will never visit there even though a lot of American history comes from there. I am disgusted with their example of politics and character. Spew, spew, spew! uugghh

      • Granny Mae

        Rosina and BLUEEYESOL,

I agree with both of you. If we let non citizens vote in our elections why not just semd ballots over to Mexico and Canada and let them have at it ? As for Barnie Frank ! He is disgusting ! Mass is just doing business as usual. They backed the Kennedy’s forever and now it is Frank. Glad I don’t live there !

      • tony

The reason California keep on backing up the liberats, is that the illegal alien voters are MILLIONS !
ALL YOU NEED TO REGISTER TO VOTE IS A DRIVERS LICENCE, and the illegals have them from the Clinton time when they could get it (and
        many with someone else’s name).
The mayor of Los Angeles is an ‘anchor baby’ who claims that California belongs to Mexico and that the border should be open.

      • Jana

        Wow, that explains a lot.

      • Granny Mae

It sure does. Who in their right mind would take the very thing that makes the US unique and destroy it down to meaningless ? Someone out there in Calif. needs to repeal that decission ! I know that Clinton and Gore did that when he was in office so he could get more votes ! That is criminal and they should both be held accountable for it. If we started procicuting these people for they selfish criminal acts there would be less of them ! A good book to open the eyes about some of these people is called Dereliction of Duty ! Boy it sure opened my eyes !

      • Carol

What do you expect of the state that kept re-electing Ted Kennedy for all those years?

      • Granny Mae

        Carol,
You have got a point there ! I agree !

      • Denniso

What a juvenile thing to do…show a picture of Pelosi painted green. How childish can Chip Wood get? He’s also obviously confused a little when he calls her the wicked witch…has he already forgotten about the actual witch put forward by the vaunted tea party,Christine O’Donnell???

I hope to hell the Dems are tough enough to stick with Pelosi despite the Refubs constant smearing and demonizing of her. To abandon her would be to give credit to the low life attacks and lies about her. The first ever woman speaker should get better treatment from her people than to allow the Refubs to chase her out.

      • Palin12

Pelosi’s face IS green from all the taxpayer-provided booze she guzzles down on those Air Force jets. Someone PLEASE give her a berka!

      • Denniso

Sounding like a smearing liar is not very becoming to you.

      • Palin12

If you don’t like it go back to whatever third world socialist country you came from.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Barney Frank should be in jail, as should Franklin Raines and Jamie Gorelick for their Fanny Mae/Freddie Mac scam that caused the banks to collapse. There is no way they should be walking the streets free with no charges against them, and no way Barney Frank should have even been allowed to run for office, let alone get re-elected. It is testimony of the sad shape of affairs of Massachusetts. But I guess we all knew that already, being that they continually elected one Theodore Kennedy and John Kerry time after time, while these guys levied tax after tax on them. Im glad I dont live there.

      • Denniso

Palin12…you’re the typical rightwinger who has no shame in being a liar and sounding like a real idiot. Sad…

…and you sound like a typical leftwing liar and nutcase
“I did not have sex with that woman; these allegations are FALSE”…Bubba Clinton
“I’m not giving up Obummer’s Senate seat for effing nothing”… Rod Blogovich (sp) D-Ill.
“We can’t put too many Marines on Guam or it may capsize”…Rep. Hank Johnson, D-GA
“There may be 14% illegal alien construction workers in other states, but not here in Nevada”….Dirty Harry Reid, D-NV
“I had nothing to do with the White House travel staff being fired”…Hillary Clinton

How’s it feel now Denniso to be on the losing side? Americans spoke loud and clear last week, not only nationally, but in state houses and legislatures all accross this great land. We don’t want socialism!

      • Denniso

Are you going to fight to get rid of social security? How about Medicare? You should also fight to rid the airline industry of all the subsidies they get along w/ airports. Do you want to make agriculture totally free market and watch the small family farmer dry up and blow away? How about the subsidies to defense contractors? More ‘socialism’?? Why don’t you also get rid of the veterans administration and veteran health care…soldiers are just doing what every citizen should do anyway, defending the country, right? You better not drive on any public highway and call for the destruction or defunding of them…one of the biggest ‘socilaistic’ schemes ever.

You want to get rid of anything w/ a ‘socialistic’ taint, you’ll have to do more than just go after the new healthcare bill. If you people were consistent at least you could be honorable. But no,you want the ‘socialistic’ programs that you demand and also end the ones you don’t like. That’s called hypocrisy, isn’t it?

      • Palin12

You just don’t get it and you never will. I am not against Social Security, I paid into it for 40+ years and I just want to get back what I put into it. And I want the liberals and the RINOs to quit raiding the fund to pay for other junk at the expense of our seniors. You are right about one thing, we want to end Obamacare and we want to do it right NOW. We want the government to quit paying for frivolous expenses such as Michelle Obama’s 21 personal assistants who collectively earn $1.7 million a year in addition to Queen pelosi’s $100,000 booze tab. We the people do not benefit from any of this waste. It doesn’t matter what previous administrations did, the time has come for it to end now. These politicians work for us, they are not our masters and they do not know what’s best for us. Get over it denniso, you LOST! How does it feel?

      • Denniso

Palin12…YOU don’t get it! You stated clearly,as most of fellow sheep do, that you don’t want ‘socialism’. You then say that you want SOCIAL security to continue. Social security, like all the other things I mentioned, are socialistic,in that they are shared and payed by most of society. All things that are done through gov’t w/ people’s taxes are ‘socialistic’ to varying degrees.

That’s where you people are hypocritical…you want some of the ‘socialism’ in the country and then turn around and demonize other ‘socialistic’ programs, only because you don’t like them. Try a little consistency for once. You either hate all things gov’t does w/ taxpayer money, the military included(since it’s a socialistic model for defense),or you drop this dumb socialism cry and judge gov’t programs on their merrits.

      • Palin12

        Loser!

      • Denniso

I know, it’s tough on you people….can’t make a cogent response or point so you come back w/ a childish retort. It shows you for what you really are. Under educated, ill informed and content to rant and smear, but not think. Sad for the country and anyone around you.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        rosina,
I can’t understand how those people got to vote. Here when you vote, you have to get your name checked off and sign to vote! There would be no way for ANYBODY to vote without signing off first and they can’t sign if their name isn’t on the list!!

      • Dan az

Hey Joe they just ruled that next year no one has the right to inspect the citizenship of any voters here.another liberal judge!

      • Granny Mae

        Dan Az,

Someone needs to take that rulling to the supreem court ! If we have to register to vote then they have not just a legal right but a legal obligation to check IDs. Guarding our voting rights and keeping them only for legal citizens is a solem duty of the government. Our young and old citizens gave their lives for our right to vote in this country and no liberal has the right to take that away for any of us any where in the United States ! In my humble opinion !

      • Lewis Munn

In the small town I live outside of, where I am often greeted by name, I still had to provide both my legal ID card, and my voter registration card, which were both inspected by two separate human clerks, and I was checked off on the list of registered voters for my district.

Not sure why this is such a terrible problem for so many people.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Indiana has this right. You go in, and your name is in a book, and they turn to that page, you produce a photo ID, and they do look at you and see that it is you, then you sign, and they compare your signature with your license signature. Once your name is signed, you vote, and you cant come back and do it again.

      • JRC

        Whine whine voter fraud…lmao.
Moreover, NOTHING will change, They will do what they want to do and the sheep voters voting for one or the other party will never know how much wool was pulled over they’re collective eyes.
If any of you believe that the politicians care about you, the last election and the lies coming from “everyone” of them propagated in adds on TV should have opened your eyes…..but unfortunately it has NOT.

      • Vigilant

That’s a really constructive comment. Instead of the doom and gloom of pessimism, do you have anything to offer as a solution?

      • Russ errett

I believe that government welfare and subsidies are unconstitutional. Therefore the promise of “bread and circus” by politicians to buy votes should not be permitted.

You all talk as if there is no good in this country, especially with people of opposing views. Whatever happened to intelligent discourse? – Rabblerousers like Bob Livingston who do it to make themselves feel more powerful and make money. Of course, in the olden days it was done via newsprint. I guess it’s just times in which we live. All about me,me,me.

      • Jana

        Karolyn,
If you will go back and see that I was responding to someone else in the first place (JRC) who started out with and I quote “Whine whine voter fraud…lmao.
Moreover, NOTHING will change, They will do what they want to do and the sheep voters voting for one or the other party will never know how much wool was pulled over they’re collective eyes.- – - – - – -

Talk about sounding like there is no good in this country, this guy was one of yours so talk to him about it.

You state, “You all talk as if there is no good in this country, especially with people of opposing views. Whatever happened to intelligent discourse? – Rabblerousers like Bob Livingston who do it to make themselves feel more powerful and make money. Of course, in the olden days it was done via newsprint. Have you ever thought that this is the intent of Bob Livingston to have an intelligent discourse? There have been amny times that you yourself have come aross as a rabblerouser, and not so nice to someone of opposing views.
Your point about its “All about me,me,me.” Sorry Karolyn thats all we can talk about is our own experience. you certainly have given your (me,me,me viewpoints.

Joe H, thats a low blow to Karolyn, I love it.

To Karolyn, there is no reason to listen to any views from the left these days. They are all one in the same, hate filled, anti-American, anti God, anti freedom propaganda that is damning to this country. So tell me why we should even consider listening to them. Gimme a break.

      • spike

You know what, JRC? I vote any day for what happened Tuesday, then what’s been going on in DC for two years. Obama and his cronies stealing my rights with the keys to the jailhouse are guarded by no one!! you can say what you want, but AT THE VERY LEAST, AMERICA SHOWED IT STILL HAS SOME BACKBONE!!! and make fun of the capital letters if you want, I don’t CARE!!

      • http://wwwroyaltoypoodle.com maxi

This election was a restraining order for me as far as I am concerned. I saw a name on the ballot and did not see any campaign adv. on TV for her and I thought? Who is she??? Republican it says. Good enough for me so I voted for her. It is about platform for those of you who are confused. I never listen to the TV advs. I am a good boy- He is the bad one. This did this dirty I am so good and blah – blah. it goes. The candidates are supposed to do what their party calls for: Democrats (Liberal) Republicans (More Conservative) Democrats believe more in Abortion, Taxation, and government control of everything. Now Take your pick. America just did. I think everyone had enough. They may not have realized the difference but they did not like what they were getting.

      • alpha-lemming

Remains to be seen. Over the last 20yrs… I whole-heartedly agree that the “essentially 1 party” (Full-blown Marxist on steroids vs. yeah OK only sorta Marxist) DC rule has ruined the country for generations. It REALLY feels different this time though.

The T-party movement is the political equivalent of chemotherapy. If it doesn’t rid the Republican party of its’ “progressive cancer” (awful lot of RINOs recently purged), the treatment will kill the patient… the GOP will go the way of the Whigs… and a new party will rise to fill the void. One that hand-cuffs the government and returns it to its Constitutionally mandated purview and scope. I’d be thrilled if that turned out to be the Libertarians but…..

      • http://PersonalLibertyDigest Linda

      • Jana

One of the things we can start out with is to tell the new speaker to ditch the plane that Pelosi used to travel back and forth to San Francisco. Commercial flights are good enough for the rest of us and they will have personal experience when it comes to some of the things they control and vote on with the airlines.

      • Dan az

        Jana
Its high time for all of them to feel the anal probe thats coming there way and to receive the radioactive portraits that we all need to see just what makes them tick.

      • Granny Mae

You know what? I think that Pelosi having to give up her seat in the house and the airplane at her disposal, it like getting a longed for Christmas presant for me !!! Yeah !

        Thanks guys!!

        Linda….. Go go Marco!!

      • JC

Alpha, if anyone can move this country back towards our Constitution they will, by definition, be restoring Libertarian values.
I don’t care what they call themselves, as long as we get it done. :)

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Granny Mae,
I’d pay money to watch them tell her to turn over her gavel!! Hey!!! That’s a way to balance the budget!! charge 20.00 to be there and see it happen!!! There’s enough good conservatives out there that would take them up on their offer thyat the budget would be balanced over night!!! Hell, charge 100.00 I’d pay it!!!

      • barbm

JRC, where did you go to school? it’s their, not ” they’re collective eyes”, and it’s tv ad not “add”. there is a place, they’re stands for they are, their is a plural possessive pronoun. add means addition as in mathematics or arithmetic if you don’t know what mathematics is, and ad stands for advertisement. lmao!! when you learn a few things, come back and talk to us. hard to take you seriously when your ignorance shows so badly.

      • chilipadi

barbm, how about starting every new sentence with a capital letter?

      • Laura Ayala

Oh, please, get off the guys ass for his spelling and use of grammer. Just because one cannot spell, or in excited debate uses a word in the wrong tense, does not mean he does not have a brain or should be insulted. Insult him if you wish for his political views, anthing else is just mean spirited. Enough already. In case your wondering,I was absolutely thrilled with what happend on election day. Now our next step is to force Obama out of office NOW, not in two years. He can do a lot of damage in the next two years with his “Executive Order”. I would think we have enough evidence to impreach him on the grounds of treason. Impeach the V-P also. As far as I am concerned, we should exile Polosi. That woman has definitely earned the right to go live in Cuba, but to leave, she has to turn over her fortune that she has amassed since taking office and sign away her pension. Everybody knows that the Arizona election was rigged. Why would the people of that state re-elect a man who cares nothing about the safety of his constituants from the drug cartels and illegals crossing the borders. All foreign entry into the US should be stopped, at least temporarily. Build walls around our borders and adequately place soldiers at the borders for control. Next, start rounding up all the illegals, put them on army aircraft that will hold more people than public airlines, fly them back to where they belong. Then go back to requiring new immigrants to have sponsors here in the US that will give them housing and food until they are able to get a job. Require that any new entrants have a marketable skill here in the US and of course, require them to learn English! No English, no jobs. That is how it was when my grandparents came to this country and that is how it should have stayed. Take aaway all of these “Lifetime” pensions that are given to our Presidents and other government officials. They want a pension, let them pay into it like everyone else. We have to go back to producing the things we need right here in the USA. There was a time that this country did produce everything. Now, this country is 2/3 a “service” country. Meaning all our jobs are “kiss ass” jobs. We used to make our own appliances and the parts needed to put them together. Same for our TVs, cars, food, phones. Stop importing inferior products from China and Tiwan and Mexico. We have our own oil sources, why are we paying through the nose to import this? We have to go back to what made this country great! Our own ingenuity and talents. And most of all, as stated previosly in other comments stop giving all our money to all these different countries. They don’t appreciate it and it only makes them dependent on the United States. It also makes these countries think that they have a right to more! I am neither a Democrat or Republican, I have always voted for who I think would be best for this country. This is the first time in my 63 yrs. of life that I have ever felt threatened by the leader of our own country. I would at the very least exile Obama, but really feel he should be tried for treason against the USA and approprietly sentenced as our Constituion demands. I am not a predjudiced person. I don’t care what color you are or what country you come from. What I do care about is that my hard earned money doesn’t have to go to support aliens that won’t do anything to help support themselves. When all this occurs, then we can start letting immigrants into our country again, legally. PS. Please excuse any errors I have made in my spelling. At 63, for some reason I am starting to forget how to spell sometimes.

Great post. I agree with you. I feel Obama should be impeached also ! When a president goes out of his way to apologize for this country and then ram bills through that the people of this country have made clear they don’t want and then have the nerve to talk down to us as though we were pee-ons and lie to us! He needs to go and go the hard way ! And he needs to take his boss, Soros, with him !

      • Kate8

Check this out. Talk about the gift that keeps on giving.

Even those surrounding Obama in the WH are getting nervous about his mental state. He was shipped off to India to get him out of the country before he did any more damage to his party. Apparently, from all I’ve been reading, he is really losing it, and his own party leaders are seriously considering having him removed.

He is completely indifferent to what’s going on in America and around the world. Worse, he’s completely incompetent. And he and Michelle are terrorizing the WH, according to staffers.

        A MUST READ.

        http://www.opinion-maker.org/2010/11/white-house-obama-conducting-reign-of-terror/

      • Dan az

        Date8
That one site tells it all obummer is losing it fast thats great stuff!and having biden start the proceedings is even funnier I have to spread this around for all that didnt look at the article thanks kate!
Vice President Biden, under intense pressure from some Democratic Party officials and Cabinet members to invoke Article 25, Section 4 of the Constitution and have Obama temporarily or permanently removed as president because of his mental incapacity to fulfill his constitutional oath as president is reluctant to take such drastic action. Biden feels that the country would “become unglued” after such action and he doesn’t want to be the one who would be responsible for “picking up the pieces,” according to a source who works within Biden’s office.

      • Jana

        WOW Kate8,
I went to that site and was shocked. I have heard rumblings about Obama but this just shows that he is really in trouble. It goes right up there with Waynes Definition of Narcissistic.
This will get out eventually as you just can’t keep it hidden. No wonder there were so many jumping ship. I knew he wasn’t making all of the diecisions, that Annette Jennings was making some, but his mother in law, now this is pathetic.

that why here in south alabama we voted out a first term blue dog dem he was a good man and and a good rep but side with pelosie over 70% of the time he tryed hard but you can only go aginst your party so much, he had a B rating on illegal immigration, and my two senators have an A rating, and if the 1st time in [federal goverment] young lady marth roby don,t do better she is out, hear me now or feel me later, that why we vote,as for tea party people we are conservitive do not spend 100 times more then we make, constitution following, god loving, common law abiding people that want all laws enforced equally and not on skin color or party ,we want illegals deported and their illegally born children to go with them ,we belive famly should be togetter, give them a free ride to the border, and people in goverment that refuse to do their job be replaced from the president down,i learned a long time ago, work do the job you where hired to do, NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO DO,or get FIRED

      • Jana

        Marvin,
        Very good point.
In the last few elections we have been firing these so called Reps. for NOT listening to us. A few days ago we fired a bunch more. We need to write our Reps. and let them know we are paying attention to how they vote and how they do their job. No one is indispensible here.
Now, our job also is to let our Reps know what we think about these bills they are trying to pass or do away with.
Our Reps. aren’t mind readers, they need to hear from us and hear from us often.
These Reps. live in a bubble called Washington Insiders (my term) and they don’t really know what it is to live our here in the real world.

It was never intended for Congress to be in session for more than a few months every other year. These people would then have to get out in the economy and know what the laws they passed do to our country and our people as they had to abide by them too. Now days, they have no clue as they are isolated in Washington. They don’t drive their own cars, nor fill their own gas tanks, nor do they hit the grocery store. They just order it in and don’t even have to pay for it, we the tax payers pay for their extravagances. Nancy Pelosi is a perfect example of extravagant, as well as is Obama. No personal experiences and no clue in dealing with real life or real jobs. Plus they have put themselves above us by not having to follow the same laws they have legistlated for us.

      • Granny Mae

        Jana,

You hit the nail on the head. I have felt for years that there should be somewhere that all the decissions and attendance, and just every move our Reps. make should be posted for all to see so we would know how we were going to vote the next time ! For instance = some idiot in this state has passed a bill making it mandatory that this year every bit of gas sold here will have ethenol in it !!! Real bright and must have been written by a person that has no clue about autos and how they run ! First of all they are complaining about emissions and they demand we put something in our car that will give us worse gas milage and we have to use more gas !!! Second the cars don’t run right on the corn alcohol. The computers in the cars are not made to know when it is running with more alcohol so the oxygen sensor goes crazy because alcohol creats more oxygen. This tells the computer that the car needs more gas so it gets more gas. Now you are going through gas like crazy just because of the corn ethenol ! I don’t know about you but at the price of gasoline, and it is going up, I would like to get what I’m paying for , not a bunch of alcohol ! It is not just cars that are being effected by this. Anything that runs on gas is effected ! People are throwing away lawnmowers because they start then stop and won’t start again because of the ethenol. The alcohol is eating up hoses and coroading metal parts. I don’t know about you but I sure can’t afford to replace all these things and pay high gas prices all because of some mamby pamby politician that has no clue about what he is voting on or how things run or how his decissions are going to effect everyone in the country ! This is just plain stupid !

      • Judy

        Good Post! Thanks!

      • Kinetic1

        Granny,
Good information. It’s a shame more people don’t know about the effects of ethanol, but the Farming industry has been pushing corn ethanol for decades now and hiding the true cost of production. Even though the Government (we) subsidize growing and producing this snake oil, it’s still expensive. And those who claim it is a viable way to reduce oil imports are either in on it or don’t have very good information. In 2009 we were on a pace to produce 14 billion gallons of ethanol and that was only enough to make all gas pumped E10 (10% ethanol, 90% Gas). Now consider how much more we would need to produce to achieve E85, added to the fact that you need 10% to 30% more fuel running through you injectors and, well Granny made the point well.

You’d think they would have been uncovered by now, but politicians know that if they want to win in the farm belt, they have to support ethanol. It’s a boom for them! Not only has it driven up the cost of corn, but the reduction in available fields for other crops is driving up the price of wheat and soybeans. In fact, I recall this subject being part of a West Wing episode where the candidate knows the truth and refuses to support ethanol in an Iowa caucus speech, but buckles under political pressure. The information is out there. Yep, if you want to drive on crops your better off running a diesel on used cooking oil (refined of course), but that’s almost free to make at home and this is all about money.

if that turns out to be the case then invoke the second amendement.

        Hey Granny
Im impressed not to many people know that about computer controlled cars Wow where did you learn it I cant see you being a wrench so it must be hubby but to understand the principals as well as you do really is great! And yes you are right on that is the problems of the gas today what people dont understand is that alcohol evaporates and what is left is water in your tank.

      • Granny Mae

        Dan,

LOL. I do understand a few things in the line of cars. My husband has been in the mechanics field since he was 13 and in the electronics field since he was 26. He is now 73 and still going at it ! When we were first going together we spent most of our dates in his garage working on care!! I was always up to my elbows in a tub of gasoline washing parts for him. Time goes by but nothing changes ! I love cars right along with him and in fact did a little minor drag racing in my day. Still watch the races on the TV ! Some of this stuf with the laws being made today by politicians that have no idea of what is going on in cars just makes me mad ! It would be like me making medical decissions and laws and I’m no doctor or have any idea of medicine ! Stupid if you ask me !

      • Granny Mae

        Dan,

I need to refraze that statement.about drag racing ! It wasn’t minor it was down right illegal ! With my hubby behind me I was hard to beat ! LOL ! Not any more ! This mobility chair of mine doesn’t go fast enough for me to even get to the phone before people hang up ! DRATS !

      • Dan az

        Hey Granny
I could fix that with a harley motor for ya!

      • Granny Mae

        Hey Dan

ALL RIGHT !!!!!! Yea. Thats what I’m talking about ! I only have one problem though. The old guy is already acusing me of doing burn-outs !

      • Granny Mae

Oh Crud ! I have to go find a way to put a 35 pound turkey in the freezer ! The old guy did some butchering today and now I have to figure out what to do with it ! If it were a few politicians I know I would know just what to do with them !!!!

Another one of NObama’s stupid, stupid ideas. This man has got to go in 2012. I am certainly glad that the Reoublicans have a majority in the house that can block this maniac. I hope that the Republican Party are smart, and cunning enough to outwit this idiot. NObama is very cunning so they will have to watch him like a hungry fox would watch a chicken. I hope they will not let him pull a slick one on them. I am attaching a message written by the editor of the London Daily Telegraph about NObama to show what other nations think about NObama.

“Let me be clear: I’m not normally in favor of boycotts, and I love the American people. I holiday in their country regularly, and hate the tedious snobby sneers against the United States. But the American people chose to elect an idiot who seems hell bent on insulting their allies, and something must be done to stop Obama’s reckless foreign policy, before he does the dirty on his allies on every issue.”

One of the most poorly kept secrets in Washington is President Obama’s animosity toward Great Britain, presumably because of what he regards as its sins while ruling Kenya (1895-1963).

One of Barack Hussein Obama’s first acts as president was to return to Britain a bust of Winston Churchill that had graced the Oval Office since 9/11. He followed this up by denying Prime Minister Gordon Brown, on his first state visit, the usual joint press conference with flags.

The president was “too tired” to grant the leader of America’s closest ally a proper welcome, his aides told British journalists.

Mr. Obama followed this up with cheesy gifts for Mr. Brown and the Queen. Columnist Ian Martin described his behavior as “rudeness personified.” There was more rudeness in store for Mr. Brown at the opening session of the United Nations in September. “The prime minister was forced to dash through the kitchens of the UN in New York to secure five minutes of face time with President Obama after five requests for a sit down meeting were rejected by the White House,” said London Telegraph columnist David Hughes. Mr. Obama’s “churlishness is unforgivable,” Mr. Hughes said.

The administration went beyond snubs and slights last week when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton endorsed the demand of Argentine President Cristina Kirchner, a Hugo Chavez ally, for mediation of Argentina’s specious claim to the Falkland Islands , a British dependency since 1833. The people who live in the Falklands, who speak English, want nothing to do with Argentina. When, in 1982, an earlier Argentine dictatorship tried to seize the Falklands by force, the British — with strong support from President Ronald Reagan — expelled them.

“It is truly shocking that Barack Obama has decided to disregard our shared history,” wrote Telegraph columnist Toby Young. “Does Britain’s friendship really mean so little to him?” One could ask, does the friendship of anyone in the entire world mean anything to him?

“I recently asked several senior administration officials, separately, to name a foreign leader with whom Barack Obama has forged a strong personal relationship during his first year in office,” wrote Jackson Diehl, deputy editorial page editor of the Washington Post, on Monday. “A lot of hemming and hawing ensued.” One official named French President Nicolas Sarkozy, but his contempt for Mr. Obama is an open secret. Another named German Chancellor Angela Merkel. But, said Mr. Diehl, “Merkel too has been conspicuously cool toward Obama.”

Mr. Obama certainly doesn’t care about the Poles and Czechs, whom he has betrayed on missile defense. Honduras and Israel also can attest that he’s been an unreliable ally and an unfaithful friend. Ironically, our relations with both Israel and the Palestinian Authority have never been worse. Russia has offered nothing in exchange for Mr. Obama’s abandonment of missile defense. Russia and China won’t support serious sanctions on Iran. Syria’s support for terrorism has not diminished despite efforts to normalize diplomatic relations. The reclusive military dictatorship that runs Burma has responded to our efforts at “engagement” by deepening its ties to North Korea.

And the Chinese make little effort to disguise their contempt for him.

For the first time in a long time, the President of the United States is actually distrusted by its allies and not in the least feared by its adversaries. Nor is Mr. Obama now respected by the majority of Americans. Understandably focused on the dismal economy and Mr. Obama’s relentless efforts to nationalize and socialize health care, Americans apparently have yet to notice his dismal performance and lack of respect in the world community.
        They soon will.”

        Wayned,
This was a very good and informative post. The only ones I really see Obama reaching out to are the Muslim nations, not any others. He has as you said in your post been rude to other nations heads of state, and obviously considers them his enemies too, just like he considers us the conservatives his enemies, and we must be punished.
He is a rude crude person who has a rude crude wife, who thinks they are put in the White House to have fun fun fun and go on expensive vacations.
Wow, the news this morning said that he has secured 50,000 more jobs for Americans because of his trip. Hmmm, sounds more like the bailout monies that was spent, one million dollars spent per job saved.

Millions of people aren’t just whining. They are contacting their Senators & Congressmen. Politicians have witnessed what the American people can accomplish when made mad. It’ll happen again if they don’t listen. How can you believe all the lies told about every candidate? This was the biggest hate bash in many years during elections.

Millions went into the democrat campaign by unions. When people hear so much trash, mostly lies or part truths, they don’t have all the facts. This makes it very difficult to know who to believe. If you noticed in Calif. when voters had information on all the propositions & understood it, the right choices were made. Two propositions didn’t make themselves clear intentional or not & people weren’t sure what would happen if they passed or didn’t. Wrong choices were made due to lack of information & understanding.

If all Americans had truthful information about all candidates, we’d know exactly how to vote. We need a website with candid, truthful info on all politicians now & for the future elections.

      • eddie47d

Rosina; We know that Republican leaning companies make the voting machines so how about you starting there. Better yet to make it fair maybe we should outsource the equipment. How about India? Since you are on the same page as Chip in calling Democrats who won as being handled by unions and stormtroopers. Then what do you call it when Republicans win? • Laura Ayala

My husband has been a union worker his entire life. His family and I are very greatful for what the union made possible for us. However, today, I do feel that the unions of today care nothing about its workers, just the fees that keep the unions going. Unions do serve a good purpose when they are getting fairliving wages for jobs and making sure that their card holders are getting proper health care and humane working conditions. Please remember, that if it weren’t for unions, generations would have had to work under inhuman circumstances. But like our government, they are getting out of control. They think less and less of the Ameriacan people that made their existence possible. Unfortunately, they are behind bringing in all of these foreign workers every month. So, just like the government, we have to remind unions that they are working for us, not for themselves.

Regarding the comment on pot. Oh Please!!!!Rehab for Pot??? If you believe that garbage or are soooo misinformed. The only reason that pot is not legalized in this country is because the people who make the laws and have most of the money are the ones who are paying for all of this to come into the country. They don’t want it legalized because then they would not make any money on it. Alcohol is 100% more damaging to the user’s body and to the public than pot could ever be. My God, over the years I have smoked Pot with lawyers, Judges, cops, doctors, priests. It is lproven to medically helpful for many physical ailments. People who don’t drink while having the responsiblity of caring for children or the public, won’t smoke pot during these times either. If you drink and put others at risk because you drink, you will do the same thing with any substance that they chose to favor. It is not the choice of the substance, but a choice of character.

      • Jana

        Laura A,
I agree with you about Unions. They truly used to be a good thing and served a good purpose but now the only ones benefitting and getting rich off of unions are the union bosses.
They have reached their hands into your retirement pensions and used the money for other things. They have spent a couple of billion dollars on the campaigns during this voting season alone. If they are hurting so badly, how can they afford that?
Also, let your husband try and leave the union and continue to work. It won’t happen. That is not freedom. They are also trying to make union voting open now so everyone will know how everyone else voted, which sounds hugely like intimidation.
You lost me however on pot. I don’t drink regularly, in fact I haven’t had liquer in any form all of this year, and I don’t do pot. I have a neighbor whose son was doing pot and has serious health problems because of the fermaldehyde that was put in it. It is evidently cut? with a lot of different things to add bulk to it. I thought this was only with the white powdery type of dope (sorry, I can’t think of the name of the white stuff that looks like powdered sugar). Shoot, I am having a blank moment here. However, I found out that wasn’t so. Thankfully he is off of that stuff, but is still having problems.

      • Jana

        Wayne,
My husband has the same sentiments about union workers. He has worked with some that flatly refuse to do more than the ONE thing they were hired for. Where my husband used to work they worked all over the plant, not in one little spot. Then when he became Foreman, and then General Foreman he still had to be able to do all of the things than anyone else could do. He said anyone that he ran into that used to work for a union was worthless on the job. I am sure that isn’t 100% across the board, but it sure was for him. We don’t have much respect for unions or those who work or worked for them because of their attitude.

Laura, I also agree with you about he unions being a good thing when they were first formed. I believe that they hsve emerged into something that is not good for the companies they work for, the country, or for themselves. I worked with a man one time that had worked in a union. He told me that he was working in a sheet metal shop using a drill. He had accidently cut the cord. He was qualified to repair the cord, but as he was repairing the cord, a union boss walked by and scolded him for doing this as he was not an electrician. He statd that the union boss told him to call the electrical shop for a repairman. The gentle said he had to sit on his butt, and wait about 4 hours become the electrician came to repair his cord. Just think, he was being paid for 4 hours of work sitting on his butt and not doing anything. I don’t care what anyone says, this is not right. The man wanted to work, but he couldn’t because of some stupid union rule. This is why some people don’t like what the unions are doing. They have also driven up cost on products for their own benefit, and not for the comsumers. I also believe they have driven up the price of the automobile, considerabley, over the years, putting them out of the reach for a lot of consuemers due to the high cost. The automobiles that were made through the 60′s, 70′s, 80′s and through part of the 90′s were junk as far as I am concerned. The automobile companies did not start to improve their vehicles until the Japanese started out selling them. In this situation competition was a good thing. I do believe that the quality of the autobobiles made in the country, like GM and Ford are now compatible with those being shipped in from other countries. However, it took overseas competition to do this. Competition is a good thing as it improves the products we pay good money for.

I agree with you wholeheartedly about election fraud in CA and Nevada. I was at the GOP Victory party at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas on election night. Before our returns started coming in, the networks showed a graphic on exit poll numbers, showing Angle 53% and Reid 39%. Suddenly, when the results started coming in it showed Reid ahead. Several people have testified they voted for Angle but the printout said Reid. There is also a shortcut ballot here, if you want to vote straight Republican push “R” and then the printout said all democrats. Union intimidation and coercian also played a big roll. I’ve heard one suggestion to boycott all the MGM and Harrah’s casinos as they are the ones with the union thugs who perpetrated this fraud.
Overall nationwide I am pleased with the results. We sent a clear message to Obummer, who was thumped. But has he listened? Hell no, he’s going off on a $2 billion tour of India and Asia with a delegation of 3,000. When will this jerk stop wasting our money?

      • Dan az

        Palin12
If some one would check the facts I think that with just that vacation it exceeded the national deficit at one time not to long ago!

      • Kinetic1

Once again some right wing blogger reports on an unsubstantiated claim (this time from the indian press) and Rush, Beck, Hannity and even politicians like Bachman run with it like it’s fact. Yes, the President is going on a good will tour of Asia as part of a G20 meeting. Yes, it will be expensive as Presidential trips always have been. But all this noise about 20 million dollars a day, 34 navy vessels, fighter squadrons etc. is just that, noise. It’s no more credible than Bachman’s claim that the census will be used to round up Republicans in re-education camps.

      • Palin12

You missed the point Kinetic. This trip to India is the epitome of wasteful government spending. Bringing that huge contingent and staying at 5-star hotels for all of them is a waste of taxpayer dollars. Goodwill tour, my ass.

      • Jana

Yes, and he wasn’t even in the country very long and just like that with the snap of a finger he created 50,000 jobs for Americans. I do hope that is true, but when we see it I will believe it. How much did it cost to create these jobs? What was the deal? Was it more of the same ole same ole similar to the bail out money.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Jana,
This trip accomplished something I thought I’d never see or hear! I heard on the radio today that one of the accomplishments of this trip to India has resulted in Harley Davidson opening up an assembly plant in India! Harley Davidson!! An american Icon down the drain!!!

      • Kinetic1

G20 meetings have always required a huge contingent. Presidents bring staff along to continue the work they would normally be doing in the White House, and the G20 adds to that number. As to the 5 star accommodations, again we are depending on the information provided by one foreign reporter. Show me some proof and a cost comparison to past presidential trips before you waste my time with unsupported accusations.

      • Palin12

Regardless what past administrations have done, the time has come to reign in unneccessary wasteful government spending. It has to stop sometime and that time is NOW. Obummer is defineatly adding to the deficit with this unnecessary trip which is nothing more than an expensive vacation for himself and his loyal cronies. We the People have had enough and we let it be known Nov.2

      • Kinetic1

Here’s a bit of news from the UK about President Obama’s “wasteful trip”…

“American firms are set to finalise deals worth around $10bn (£6bn) with India that will support 54,000 jobs back home, senior White House aide Michael Froman told reporters.”

“Some 20 deals are in the pipeline, including an engine contract for General Electric and a $2.7bn commission for passenger aircraft from Boeing for one of India’s fast-expanding private airlines. However, the $4.5bn sale by Boeing of C-17 military transport planes is still being negotiated.”

That’s $10 BILLION being negotiated for the U.S. economy. I know you want to find fault in everything President Obama does, but sometimes there is a good reason that is just beyond your grasp.

      • Palin12

And why would anyone at all, expect Nevada to be on the up and up? Its not like they are exactly a state of people and government with morals. Look at the national statistics in the following categories – Murder, Rape, Bankruptcy, Spousal Abuse, Divorce, Fraud, Robbery, and there are a few others I missed here. Nevada is in the top 5 in all this stuff, and the leaders in more than a few of them. Even their commercials on TV tought sin. “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”. Satan has a stronghold on this state, and he definately owns their politicians also. Why else would a state with a rampant run away unemployement rate of 14 percent and rising, re-elect the guy whose policies is a direct cause of it? Why? Corruption at its best.

These two above things were his pet peeves that he wanted to pass right away before the people could figure out what was taking place. These two bills will be disasterous to our wallets. Fortunately, he did not have time to ram the Cap & Trade bill through the Senate. This should go to show you, and others, that NObama is a Narcissistic person by wanting to get his own way first, and everyone else comes last. If you can’t see this, you are totally blind and beyond any help.

Just an aside: a group of Minnesotans (I live here) went through each ballot to check them out and seems as though a lot of incarcerated men were somehow allowed(?) to vote. After their votes were removed from the total, Al Franken lost the election by many more than enough but, the powers-that-be could not change the results so far after the election.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Al Franken. Now there is a piece of work. The guy sucked as a comedian, and it continues to this day. Scary that there are that many nut jobs in Minnesota to even make that a close election. Scary. But then again, people were stupid enough in New York to vote for Hillary Clinton to come in and jack up their taxes and loot their state. And Nevada was dumb enough to vote for Harry Reid. And Massachusetts and Barney Frank? Well, they did vote that druken Ted guy in time and time again, along with Herman Munster.

      • Kinetic1

Boy I get tired of setting you people straight. The Bush administration spent 5 years investigating and prosecuting voter fraud. In all that time they only found 128 cases to prosecute and of those only 84 lead to convictions. Voter fraud is not rampant. It is a straw man being used to convince you that the Democrats can only win by cheating. Sorry kids, it plays both ways.

Why are you screaming about things you have no proof of and ignoring the 2004 election where an Ohio precinct worker was seen dumping ballots into a dumpster behind the polls? How about this Washington Post article from 2008 that reads
“A voting system used in 34 states contains a critical programming error that can cause votes to be dropped while being electronically transferred from memory cards to a central tallying point, the manufacturer acknowledges.”
These are the real stories of election fraud and Republicans are not without fault.

      • Lewis Munn

The fact, alleged or proven, of problems in the past does NOT excuse problems in the present!

We should be learning, and improving. And I do not meaning making the errors bigger and costlier!

      • Kinetic1

Agreed. Dump the touch screen voting and return to good old pen and ink. There have been problems and there will continue to be problems, but all the noise about groups like ACORN submitting registration forms for Mickey Mouse or dead people is childish. The only people being cheated here are the groups who pay registration workers on a per person basis as those names rarely make it onto the voting roster. In the mean time, fear of just such a fraud epidemic is used by people like Katharine Harris to purge tens of thousands of legal voters from the rosters, claiming they are all felons. That activity didn’t stop after 2000.

      • Wayne

Kenetic1, I did not always support everything that President Bush was doing, but NObama would not make a good pimple on George Bush’s behind.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Wayne,
I think he’d make a good boil on SOMEBODY’S azz!!!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Thank you Wayne, for pointing out the truth.

      • Jean Murphy

Many people making comments are right on point. There most definitely was Vote Fraud in Nevada & Calif.. Go to the Secretary of State site in both states. There’s a pdf form for complaints about vote fraud. Download it, print it & fax it to the Sec. of State. Make them investigate. If the Sec. of State is Democrat, demand an impartial party oversee the recount.

Boxer & Reid should never have won elections. This country has been hell bent on not re-electing incumbent Democrats. Harry Reid played a lot of dirty tricks on Angle. We all know he could not have won honestly.

The Administration couldn’t afford to lose the largest Democrat state, which is Calif., hence vote fraud. And the Unions poured $90 million into the election for Democrats in Calif.. Fight it people.

We do need our new Congress to pass a law that NO UNION is allowed to fund any campaign. First of all they use union dues. Who pays those dues? Hard working people. Most certainly they are not all one party & had no say whatsoever where their dues went or for what party.

More than one person agrees that EVERYONE voting must prove who they are & if they are an American Citizen. I agree as well. One more thing Congress needs to address & pass a law on.

Democrats need to stop whining & start working with the Republicans. Take their heads out of Obamas a$$ & work for the American people. No more party ego trips. For now they all should be called the AMERICAN PARTY.

There’s many issues we want Congress to address & fix, but they need to hear from all of us. They want to stop the spending & help the economy. One way they can do this is to cut all Federal Employees Annual income. Obama gets $400,000 a year & a $50,000 monthly allowance for some crap. The average annual income is between $150,000 to $193,000. We are the employers, they are the employees. We want to downsize, hence cut all salaries by 10% until unemployment in every state is below 5%. Cut Obamas’ income by 20%. Just about all his expenses are paid for, so why should he get so much? Who cares he’s playing the roll of president? I sure don’t.

Another way to cut is Michelle Obamas’ aids. She’s hired 28!!! Hillary Clinton only had 3 as first lady & all the rest had less. Fire them.

How many companies outsource jobs? If that’s how they want to work it, then they need a wake up call. Congress can impose a major hike on the IMPORT TAX. It’ll cost them tons of money to get their products back into the US to sell. Automobile manufacturers. Duh. How many jobs were lost because they have cars build elsewhere. How about a 70% import tax on every vehicle? Allow them to have parts made in other countries, but demand all vehicles be assembled in the U.S?

There’s so much our new Congress is capable of doing. I know you think that Obama can just veto whatever they try to do. But, did you know that a majority of votes in Congress & the Senate can OVERRIDE HIS VETO?
Yes they can………. This is why Democrats must now work with the Republicans if they seriously want to help our economy.

We all need to tell them that’s exactly what WE WANT THEM TO DO. If not, they must not care about their jobs much. We can fire a lot more of them in 2012. Tell them that too. Obama thinks that the American public is stupid, ignorant. He has not learned to LISTEN. We see that more clearly than he thinks. Who’s the idiot?

Folks, if you want proof that Obama is or is not legally our president, we all need to tell Congress to compel him to produce his long form birth certificate & all other documents he’s been hiding. They alone cam force the issue. We don’t want him impeached. We want proof that he has no right to be our president. Then everything he signed is repealed automatically. Not legal. Abolished.

God Bless you all & America

    • Robin from Arcadia, IN

Dan az… I didn’t know that the chairmans of the committees would change either! Oh happy day! But, like most others, I approach all this with caution. We need to hold our elected officials feet to the fire and they must be accountable for whatever they do. Nancy couldn’t ‘drain the swamp’, but with this huge change, somebody should step up to the plate and get er done!

      • Dr. Jerri Wilson

I totally agree. And, if our newly elected officials will LISTEN TO “WE THE PEOPLE” Perhaps all of us will see the BEGINNING of a return to The AMERICA I Have KNOWN And LOVED for the past 72 years !

      • Wayne

Dr. Jerri Wilson, Those dumb Communist Congress Members that ran on the democratic ticket, like Barney Frank and Harry Reid, and so many others, will not allow this to happen. I think they are too much like NObama, narcissistic. Ramming the health care bill through is a prime example. After reading the information following the end of this sentenence I would like to know how many agrees with me:

      • Michael J.

        Wayne,
Yep, sounds like Obama, and her husband too.

      • Wayne

Sorry Michael. I should have mentioned Michelle, but it was inferred to include her as well.

      • Granny Mae

that hits the nail on the head for Barak, Michelle and Nasty Pelosi . Humm might as well include Harry and Barnie too !!

      • Dan az

        Hey Robin
I agree with you I feel that the democraps that are still in there will be singing a new song this time around.Ron paul is going to chair the finance committee and is going to sopina the feds so lets just hope for the change that is really needed.

    • Dagney

I love the picture of Nazi Pelosi all in green. Not only is she the Wicked Witch and she’s now “dead”, she’s green with envy that she’s lost her very important role in destroying this nation! That picture made me laugh.

      • Harold Olsen

Ditto!! I noticed she is giving interviews in which she says she has no regrets about anything the Democrats accomplished. In fact, she says she’s proud of what they did. I wonder if she’d be saying that had she not gotten re-elected.

      • tennislady

I wonder if she would be saying that when the musllims came to get her and put her in a Berka(?) and made her live by Sharia Law? As the idiot “O” wants us to be! Or if we won’t belive in the war cry, just simply kill us!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

That Berka thing I was always against, but if it would hide and shut up the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Barbara Boxer, it might not be such a bad thing. Can we have selective Berka’s?

      • http://poehw@comcast.net Flip one over

Berberoni. I do like the way you think.

      • Palin12

        Beberoni
pelosi is so ugly she needs two berkas, in case one of them breaks.

      • Granny Mae

        Tennislady,

Every time I think about the Muslims and the Berkas I laugh because them boys don’t have a clue as to how to handle us American women ! You never know what we might have under that Berka ! Also, they have to go to sleep sometime, and a lot of us are real good cooks ! If you get my drift !!! LOL !

      • Kate8

Harold, Pelosi was not up for re-election this time. She only stood to lose her speakership. Now she is just a bottom-grubbing Senator from San Francisco.

      • JustJeff

Better check your ‘facts’ before you spout them…. Miller ran up quite a tab trying to get her out of office……

      • Kate8

        JustJeff – I stand corrected.

I guess it is because I am not in her district that I didn’t hear of any campaigning for her.

She sure didn’t seem concerned about it at all. But then, in CA most of the foreigners simply check the ‘D’ to keep the payoffs -er, payments coming.

      • Art

Excuse me? Pelosi is Speaker of the House. I will be looking forward to her demotion in the coming year.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

Hopefully the people of San Francisco will deposit her to the curb next election, but I doubt it. California people are a different kind of cat. They re-elected that worthless Barbara Boxer, and they probably will keep Pelosi, because they seem to fail to look around them and see what these so called leaders have done to their state. Its high time you Californians woke up.

      • Kate8

Art, Yes, Speaker. But not for long.

I guess my head was not on straight this morning. Corrected on all counts.

      • Ann

….and she is not a Senator!

      • Jana

        Kate8,
I didn’t realize that she was up for reelection either. I thought it had to be the next time as I didn’t hear anything about her running again either. We both had an oops moment here.

      • http://poehw@comcast.net Flip one over

Beberoni, When you said it was “high time” were you refering to all that pot smoke that California used to replace the smog?

      • Palin12

House of Representatives is a 2-year term. All of them are up for reelection every 2 years.

      • Kinetic1

She may seem like just a “bottom-grubbing Senator from San Francisco” to you, but just wait until she is voted in as minority speaker. Don’t count her out just yet. She knows how to get things done and the republicans are non to happy that she’s still around and wielding power.

      • Vigilant

        Kinetic:

“She may seem like just a “bottom-grubbing Senator from San Francisco” to you, but just wait until she is voted in as minority speaker. Don’t count her out just yet. She knows how to get things done and the republicans are non to happy that she’s still around and wielding power.”

Oh contrare! The Repups are stumpimg for her to take that spot!

She’s the best person from their point of view to further erode the
Democrat’s numbers in the House. As they put it, she’s the best thing that’s happened in giving unemployed Republicans a job.

And I, too, say “keep her there!” She’s more responsible than almost anyone in this corrupt administration for the turnover of 600+ seats in state legislatures, and the largest change of Congressional numbers since 1938. You go gal!

      • Kinetic1

And again, Vigilant, I will point you too the fact that very, VERY few progressives lost their seats. The majority of the losses were Blue Dogs from Conservative areas. They were reluctant to go along with Pelosi or even Obama for that matter. The Republicans may be asking for her return, but I don’t believe they are all that happy.

      • Granny Mae

        Kate8,

The only reason I knew she was in the race is because I recieved several adds for donations to help her aponent beat her, but you never heard anything about her ! Guess I should have sent more money !!!!

      • Vigilant

        The plot thickens!

Fox News reported today, “In a letter written to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, House Democrats who lost in last week’s elections ask her to step aside, saying they were ‘victimized by a national wave of resentment’ over her policies.”

Isn’t that delicious? Not only that, the sore losers, like so many on the left, now consider themselves “victims.” This just gets better and better! Stay tuned……

      • Jana

        Vigilant,
That is just how out of touch these people are. WE are the victims of their dictatorship policies.
You are right, this is juicy and even slimy stuff.

      • Jana

        Harold,
She did say she was proud of what she did. One of the things she did was get a lot of her own party fired. They deserved to be fired for not listening to their constituents, and listening to her.
Unfortunately, she was not up for re-election at this time, but she is from California and would probably have won hands down. There are some stupid acting states out there and Nevada and California are among them.

      • Laura Ayala

California – these people don’t know how to work, only play. That is why they don’t mind Mexico invading our country. They are so used to having Mexicans to do all their work, they can’t survive without them. A company I worked for had a branch in LA. I have never had to deal with such a bunch of stupid people. As for work performance, maybe they worked 10 hrs. out of every 40 they were paid for and when they did get some of their work right, they always had to have a celebration luncheon or party, or time off. Look at their commercials promoting CA. They advertise the fact that “we don’t work, we play”.

      • Dagney

She is Speaker of the HOUSE. That means she is a Congressperson, not a Senator and must stand for re-election every 2 years. I’m in California and I heard NOTHING about her opponent. But, to beat her in her looney district in San Francisco, it would take a VERY strong Tea Partier to crack through all the Communist noise up there. As I said, I am from California and I have been Conservative all my life. It pains me, but I’m considering leaving this beautiful state.

      • Jana

        Dagney,
I knew she was in the House, I just didn’t realize that she was running for re-election at this time. I just thought since I hadn’t heard her talking about it or anyone else talking about it that she must not be. As I said above to Kate8, this was an oops moment for me.
I won’t forget this lesson every 2 years, every 2 years. Got it.

      • Kate8

Dagney, Of course I know Nancy Pelosi is SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE. I live in California.

I can’t believe the flack I’m getting for a brain glitch. Like my late hubby always said, “Did’ja know what I was talkin’ about?”

I am not stupid, but I am getting old. Sometimes my brain slips. Of course, I realize it after posting, but then it’s too late for anything but to catch the flack.

Wait until you younger folks start experiencing ‘senior moments’. It’s embarrassing, but what’cha gonna do?

      • Granny Mae

        Kate8,

Don’t worry about it, even when we are right someone will read the post wrong and give you flak for it! Hey at my age I don’t give a fat rats, you know what, if they like it or not ! If I screw up today , chill out because it will most likely happen again tomorrow !!! The brain thinks one thing and the fingers type something else, or I can’t see the keys so it’s anybodys guess which one I hit ! Figure it out or pass me by is what I say ! Sometimes I spell things right and some times I hit the wrong keys and sometimes I don’t hit the key hard enough so I end up with a letter missing! Like you said, what you going to do? It’s life !

      • http://?? Joe H.

        kate8 & grannie Mae,
As I tell my wife, I may not always be right, but I’m never wrong!!!

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

To Kate8 and Granny Mae. You two are very intelligent truth speaking sincere women, and I appreciate your posts, because they are all truthful from the heart, and the things you two post are all backed up by historical truth and cant be denied, well, except for by the liberal left who have no place for truth in their lives. But to me and the rest of us that appreciate the truth and people actually educating themselves to subjects before they speak on them, thank you.

      • Wayne

Just think, the Wicked Witch will not have that big fancy plane that she bought to fly back and forth to her home in San Francisco each week.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

And to think, that her and Barbara Boxer say that we need to do more to help these illegal aliens that have bankrupted thier state, so maybe now she can take the money that she used to spend on the plane, and give it direct to them. Oh here is a real good idea Nancy. If supporting them is near and dear to your heart, use your own money and put your own money where your mouth is, not OUR money. Leech.

      • Peter Wacker

As a lifelong Democrat, I dislike her because she refused to Impeach international war criminals Bush and Cheney. Maybe now we will see Justice Roberts impeached for lying to congress during his conformation hearings, or is impeachment only for blow jobs, black men daring to be elected president and Democrats?

      • Vigilant

Advice: change your monicker to Peter Wacko.

“Lifelong” Democrat proves that stupid is incurable.

      • Michael J.

Peter Wacker, I am quite sure you are holding your own against all threats of impeachment. Weren’t you posting last week as Peter Sotini?
You should try a new handle, one you could really sink your teeth into.

      • Granny Mae

        PW.,

Get a life ! War is hell and most of us know it, the point is to win and win anyway you can so you can go home ! I am sick of hearing about poor innocent people getting killed ! It is that way on all sides! Why don’t you just come out and say you are for the other side and then we can try you for treason ?

    • Wayne

Amen. I feel the same way about Pelose as you do, Dan. She is not only a witch, but she is a spoiled witch…

    • Harold Olsen

I read something the other day that one Democrat, I don’t remember which one or which committee he chaired, was going to demand, based on his seniority, that he keep his chairmanship. He claimed that just because Democrats are no longer in charge Republicans have no right to strip them of their chairmanships.

      • Kate8

Harold – Where is this mentality coming from? You lose, you go. That’s it. We get to decide (theoretically).

While it’s mainly democrats who have this concept of entitlement (they think that if they’ve held seats they own them), just look at the Republican incumbent in Alaska. Another mess that will have to be fought out.

We need to teach our kids about sportsmanship. When did we stop doing that? What’s up with all of the sore losers?

      • Vigilant

        Kate8:

“We need to teach our kids about sportsmanship. When did we stop doing that? What’s up with all of the sore losers?”

I’m afraid most decency is out of fashion these days (it’s called the liberal influence on culture). Sore losers and bad behavior became “de rigueur” when Jerry Springer hit the airwaves.

      • http://donthaveone Beberoni

They are following the lead of Al Gore.

      • Judy

That’s because they just can’t face it. They’ve ridden on the crest of the wave for so long, they can’t believe it. Too bad, go home!

      • Granny Mae

        Kate 8

The problem with these people is they are part of a generation that believes in just letting your kids do their thing and if they are upset they have a right to be. There is no restraint today, no manners, no eticut and no sense of right from wrong ! I know of a young girl that just announced on the net that she was PG and oh by the way I’m getting married ! Her family found out about it and saw it on the net and now she is in big trouble and just can’t figure out why ! Her defence is, so what everyone is doing it and I’m not hurting anybody but myself so ! This is her second without a father! She is on welfare and is getting some support from the first guy, who knows about this guy ? The thinking of people is all screwed up now days! Should be a lot less spareing of the rod and a lot more using it ! We people support abortion over prevention there is something wrong with that picture! This world is messed up !

      • Granny Mae

        correction!!

It says We people and it should say When people ! sorry !

      • Kinetic1

        Harold,
If you can’t find the proof, don’t post the claim. I have searched and searched and the only thing I can find is some debate over a state Dem party leader who doesn’t feel the need to step down. Could you be talking about Pelosi’s decision to run for minority leader in spite of calls from Blue Dog Dems for her to sit it out?

      • Jana

It could be here in Texas. The State House leader thinks he will remain in power even though he is now in the minority. The Republicans are saying differently.

      • Kinetic1

I don’t think so. Joe Straus is the current speaker and he’s a Republican.

      • Jana

well, my batting average isn’t doing too well on my states. Thanks for the correction.

      • Michael J.

        Harold Olsen,
I firmly beleive that the limelight addicted, power glutonist Nasty Nancy will give up her gavel only when they pry her cold dead fingers off of it.

      • Kate8

Michael J. – Wouldn’t that be a dream come true.

Ding dong, the witch is dea…

    • http://yahoo nick

Just a reminder: When Obama took office our country was bleeding 700,000 jobs per month. Over the last 9 months our economy has been adding jobs albeit at a slow pace but still adding jobs not losing jobs. Fact! Obama stopped the next Great Depression with his stimulus and TARP..Please note that TARP was Bush’s legislature! If the Tea Party were in office 2 years ago we would all be standing in soup lines, our bank accounts would have been wiped out with every ATM across this great country. Bailing out America and its financial institutions was a bitter pill to swallow but anything less would have been futile. Fact!

      • Vigilant

        nick,

The campaigning stopped on 2 November (except for Obama, who’s never been able to switch out of campaign mode). the American people voted and guess what? They didn’t believe your nonsense either. Get over it, you guys lost BIG TIME, and that makes most of us very happy!

      • Jana

        nick,
Reread Vigilant’s post again. That goes for me too.
Finally the people woke up to the truth and are not buying the lies any more.

      • Kate8

Jana, Vigilant, I just read this morning on Newsmax that, in spite of Odumbo’s comments about civility with Congress, he told the folks at MoveOn.org that he would not compromise one bit on his ‘core principles’. He said that the left has always had setbacks, and always rises up again to push further.

The difference now is that the people are catching on in a big way. Their only hope is that those coming out of colleges and the continued influx of foreign welfare recipients will boost their voters.

That’s why I say we need to halt immigration, both legal and illegal, and revamp the education system. We should be able to do this if there is the will.

      • Kinetic1

Please note that only 3 Progressives lost their seats in congress. Most of the Dems ousted were Blue Dogs, and we don’t miss them either. In fact, this may mean that the Democrats will be more united behind Pelosi.

The Tea Party didn’t do as well as you might think either. Less than 50% of the TP candidates won, and many of these so called “new” candidates are long time Washington insiders. It will be interesting to see just how many betray the Tea Party, and how much those who hold to their TP ideals can get done.

      • Jana

        Kinctic,
It isn’t about the TEA Party. It is about the normal every day ordinary citizens of this country who know and remember what this country was founded on, and the freedoms we espouse. Not all of us are Sr. citizens either. I have not gone to a TEA Party, but I support the gathering of citizens to stand for our great Constitution and freedom.
Sadly this is what the Democratic party used to stand for too, until they allowed themselves to be taken over by Socialist and Communists.

We are trying to work in and with the system that we have, and reclaim the Republican party for the goodness that we know can and should be had. I personally have written off the Democrats.

      • Vigilant

Kinetic opines, “Please note that only 3 Progressives lost their seats in congress. Most of the Dems ousted were Blue Dogs, and we don’t miss them either.”

That’s about the sorriest and most laughable of sour grapes gripes I’ve seen. You’ve been caught putting lipstick on a pig, my friend.

And then you say, “The Tea Party didn’t do as well as you might think either. Less than 50% of the TP candidates won, and many of these so called “new” candidates are long time Washington insiders.”

Another attempt at smoke and mirrors. Roughly 50% for a movement that’s only two years old is damned impressive. Face it, you lost, and you might accept it with grace, but that’s beyond the capabilities of a far leftie.

BTW, how many of the lefties are “Washington insiders?”

      • Kinetic1

        Vigilent,
It’s not about sour grapes, it’s about the reality of the situation. Day after day I read complaints on this site about RINOs who should be thrown out. The TEA Party cheers every time one of their candidates wins a primary over a moderate, even if it mans the Republicans will loose in the election. So why should you be surprised that I am happy to see the Blue Dogs go? For 2 years the press hounded the Dems because they had a “Super Majority” but still couldn’t get bills through. That was the Blue Dogs! Without them we are more united. Without them we have a chance to stand as a solid block of Progressive ideals. Yes, of course I would prefer not to loose, but what good is winning if you don’t actually have any power?

As to Washington insiders, Progressives aren’t the ones complaining. We see the value in a seasoned leader who knows how to get things done. We’ve seen the lobbyists dragging the freshmen around by the collar and we don’t like it. So let the TEA Party bring in candidates who don’t know their way around a law, we prefer a candidate who doesn’t need a corporation to write laws for them.

        Nick misplaces a few facts
“Fact! Obama stopped the next Great Depression with his stimulus and TARP..Please note that TARP was Bush’s legislature!”

That the next Great Depression has been stopped is yet to be proved.
That the legislature that voted for TARP was Bush’s
That TARP was Obamas though in a rare display of decisevness Obama did vote “Yea” instead of “Present”.

Nick also mentioned an increase in jobs but fails to account for the increase in “official” unemployment.

      • Jana

        vicki,
He also didn’t state the FACT that most of these created jobs were in the Government.

      • http://poehw@comcast.net Flip one over

What none of the Dems talk about is the true unemployment rate, Let history tell the tail, Obama will replace that peanut farmer (nothing against farmers as I to am one) as the worse pres in the history on this here USA.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Jana,
One thing I don’t understand is if all these jobs have been produced over the last 9 months, then why is the unemployment rate still 9.6%???

      • Jana

        Joe H.,
Exactly. This just shows they still have lost many many more jobs than they even thought of creating. Of course we know Obama tells us what he wants us to think.

      • Kinetic1

        Jana,
You stated that “most of these created jobs were in the government.” Actually, while this may have been true during the census, the most recent numbers showed a lower than expected rise due to falling government employment. The real growth was in the private sector.

      • Jana

        Kinectic,
Well Praise the Lord! That is good information.

      • Kate8

Do any of you guys ever watch Jesse Venura’s “Conspiracy Theory”?

Last night he had a show on the Bilderberg, who they are, and what they are doing. He also had a show on the planned economic destruction of America. And Obama is definitely part of it, slowly taking ALL the money from us and giving it to the elite banksters.

        Great documentary shows.

      • Vicki

        Joe H. says:
“One thing I don’t understand is if all these jobs have been produced over the last 9 months, then why is the unemployment rate still 9.6%???”

        2 reasonable (and scary) possibilities.

        1. the number of unemployed is just THAT big
        2. The government (this is a government statistic. Right?)
        is not competent.

        You choose :)

      • Jana

        Vicki,
I choose C. ALL OF THE ABOVE

There was little credible information to comment on, and the closing sort of summed up where this rant was coming from, but if you insist….

“The so called stimulus package was actually a Government take over. Just like when Castro took over Cuba. The ideal in America is opportunity! If you make lousy decisions in your business, then your business or bank deserves to fail.”

Yes, the banks did deserve to fail, but the economic impact on the world would have been devastating. To let them go down would have been the proverbial “cutting off ones nose to spite their face” and besides, many of these “Bailouts” have been repaid with interest.

“These banks and businesses chose to make sub-prime loans to people they knew would not be able to pay. At least Obama could have swept house when he took these businesses over and fired all of the executives that approved the kind of business they were doing.”

Right, just like he did with GM and we know how well Conservatives accepted that. No matter what he did, President Obama was going to get grief for it.

“Now Obama is still talking about taking over our medical care.”

Yes, and if the Blue Dogs had just been more receptive, if Obama hadn’t been so concerned about bipartisanship and let the Republicans drag out the process and tear it down in the media we would have the universal care that most Americans favored in the beginning. (2007 AP poll, 65%, Feb 2009 CBS/NYTimes 59%)

“What do you call Obama wanting to take over the 401k’s and IRA’s of private citizens?”

An attempt to prevent the catastrophic losses we incurred under Bush from ever happening again. Thank God Bush didn’t get his way with privatization of Social Security!

“To pay off the countries debt. That is dicatorship(sic). Do you know nothing about how Cuba was destroyed? Now everyone drives cars that are 50 yrs. old, stand on lines for food, can’t work at what they want to do, but what the government wants them to do.”

        I won’t waste my time.

“There would be no problem with Social Security if our government had not raped the Social Security Emergency Fund to pay for their pork projects.”

True, if Reagan hadn’t started the ball rolling by taking $94.5 Billion to cover up some of the debt he incurred by cutting taxes and overspending on defense, If G.H.W. Bush had not followed suit by stealing $211 Billion to cover his butt, if Clinton hadn’t taken $99 Billion in 1998 (and more throughout his 8 years) to show a surplus, and if Dubbya hadn’t doubled down by cutting taxes while taking the whole pot, some $1.4 TRILLION DOLLARS while still running up a national debt in the Trillions, we would be in MUCH better shape.

“The economy is so bad, yet Congress voted themselves a big raise! They knew they were going to get their ass kicked so they made sure they upped their salaries so when they got kicked out they would have a bigger retirement. Hell it would not surprise me at all if Obama had Bin Laden hidden in one of our governmental bunkers!! He hates Americans, hates whites.”

And finally a justified slam on Congress if they allowed the automatic raise to go through, and then the suggestion that Obama is a Muslim sympathizer (if not a Muslim himself) and a accusation of racism. Sure, why not go after the guy who took over for Bush. Why not make baseless accusations about his failures while he tries to deal with a bank bail out (Bush’s) an auto bailout (started by Bush) and a record debt with massive unemployment (left over from Bush). Why didn’t he fix a Social Security system that has been bleed dry over the last 28 years? Why didn’t he fix everything in two years with the Republicans yelling “Hell No you can’t” even when he was proposing bills the Republicans sponsored just a year or two earlier? Obviously, he hates America and whites!

So yes, I had something to say about this whole rant, and I might have taken it more seriously in the first place if not for the final racist accusations. I feel the same way about those of you who keep calling the President “old Purple lips.” If you can’t control your racist feelings, don’t expect to be taken to seriously.

        Vigilent,
Whoops! It’s late and this should have been posted further down in response to your “race card” comment. Sorry folks.

Ah yes, President Obama is a foreign Muslim racist. Have you been listening to too much Beck again?

      • Vigilant

And you, sir, decided to throw the race card instead of addressing the facts Laura presented. Have you been reading Saul Alinsky again?

      • eddie47d

Vigilante; Laura says, HE hats Americans ,hates whites. That is playing the race card.

      • Vigilant

No, that’s called “telling it like it is.”

VIGILANTE; A bigot is a bigot so take a breather and stop supporting bigots.

        Nick
FACT: the only jobs that where created was the government jobs Get your facts straight!

      • Wayne

Yes they have. Minimum wage jobs for teachers, and other professionals at McDonald’s and other fast food restaurant. These are great jobs. Where have you been Nick, sleeping under your bed for the last year?

      • Granny Mae

        Woah !

Back up Nickie boy ! You don’t have a clue of what you are talking about ! Florida has just lost thousands of jobs just with the lay-offs at the Space Center ! That place is like a city of it’s own and when they start closing down your talking jobs from as far away as Palm Bay and Orlando and Daytona and all the little burgs in between. So when Obama lies about all the jobs he has made you better check his figures twice! Another thing about the Space center is when jobs there go it effects the Space program in several other places Like Calif. Texas and Huntsville Ala. and several other places not to mention all the small places that supply support and parts for all the supplies for the Space center ! So when someone says they created so many new jobs I guarentee you they didn’t creat as many as they did away with ! This job creation is BS ! If the gov.wants to start creating jobs they need to start funding the Space program again and put those newly laid-off people back to work. That Space program is responsible for many of the things that we take for granted today like computers, calculaters and many new medical technologies and even freeze dried food that most of us survivalists use for storage ! To do away with that program shows Obama is brain dead !

Just think, the next time Obummer gives the state of the union message, we won’t have to see pelosi in a borrowed red pantsuit from hillary bobbing up and down like a Jack-in-the box puppet after every sentence Obummer reads from his 2 teleprompters.
