Wait Until We Throw These Rascals Out

Wait Until We Throw These Rascals Out

I read a very depressing statistic last week. In a nationwide poll, some 63 percent of adult Americans said they do not think they will be able to maintain their present standard of living much longer, much less improve it.

This made me very sad — and a little bit angry, too. Sad, because for 200 years, this country held out the promise of a better life to everyone who was willing to work for it. We could argue for hours about what America means to each of us. But for all of my life, until now, it meant the opportunity to build a better life — and to expect that your children would achieve even more than you have.

My grandparents arrived here as penniless immigrants. They never took a dime of charity. They would have slit their wrists before accepting welfare. As new arrivals from Ireland in the early 20th century, they saw “Irish Need Not Apply” signs on many businesses. But they took what work they could find, kept all three of their children clothed and fed — and made sure that each of them was raised to believe they could do better.

And every one of them did. My mother was offered a full scholarship to college, but had to turn it down. Instead, her parents gave her a used typewriter for her 16th birthday and told her to go to work. Neither her brother or sister went to college either, but both went on to lead successful, productive lives.

My mother’s passion for this country and the principles on which it was founded was boundless. She was fierce, feisty and absolutely unshakeable. She was a friend to every refugee from communism, helping hundreds of them get settled in Cleveland, Ohio and start building a better life there. If you’ve been reading this column for very long you know I’m also a staunch advocate of the principles she held dear.

But now we’re told that two out of every three people in this country expect their lives to get worse, not better? That would have made my mother angry. It gets me mad, too — mad at the sick ideology that is perverting the American Dream.

I’m referring here to the left’s favorite gambit, the politics of envy. For more than a hundred years, their lackeys in the media, our schools, in labor unions and worst of all, in government, have used class warfare in their effort to divide and conquer us.

They’ve promised that, if someone has more than you do, just vote for them and they’ll take some of the “extra” and give it to you. For more than a century, the left has proven the wisdom of the old adage, he who robs Peter to pay Paul can count on the vote of Paul. As the left has proven, there are a lot of Pauls out there.

Their redistributionist philosophy is nothing more than theft. They steal from you, and from every other productive American, in two ways. First, by demanding half of the fruits of your labors in the form of taxes: Not just the income taxes you pay to the Federal government, most states and many cities, but also in the unseen taxes they levy on everything you buy, use and consume.

But their second way of confiscating your wealth is even worse. It is by creating “money” out of thin air — the massive inflation of our currency that destroys the purchasing power of the dollar. The deliberate debasement of a country’s currency is one of the worst crimes a government can commit against its own citizens.

God merely asks you to tithe — to give 10 percent of your earnings to Him and His works. He promises you a better life if you do, but does not threaten you (at least in this life) if you don’t. Government, however, is far more demanding. You are required to “voluntarily" surrender half of everything you earn. If you refuse, they will harass you, seize your property, confiscate your wealth and even send you to prison.

Ah, but you’ve heard this rant before. So instead of repeating it again, let me share some good news with you. Come next Tuesday, we’re going to throw a whole bunch of the rascals out.

Barack Obama and his supporters insisted on nationalizing the 2008 elections. That is, they made every race for the House and Senate a mandate about “the failed George Bush administration.” They succeeded beyond their wildest dreams, giving them the biggest majorities in Congress seen since Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Ah, but now that snake has turned around and bitten them you-know-where. Thanks to the arrogant overreach of Obama and his allies, next week’s elections have also been nationalized. And a huge number of voters can’t wait to cast their ballots against our socialist president. Count me among them.

I’ve already made plans for the “Take Back America” party I’ll be hosting on Tuesday night. I think we’re going to have a lot to celebrate. I was in Atlanta last weekend for a family affair and loved seeing the headline in the local paper, “Election Day looking grim for Democrats.” The article below said that “Democrats [are] facing the possible loss of the House and trying to hang onto the Senate.” We’ll see, but I for one am hoping their worst fears come true.

By the way, permit a brief aside. For nearly 30 years, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution was part of my daily reading. I hated the liberal bias of the paper, but it was the only game in town. For more than four decades, the AJC tried to out-liberal The New York Times. The Cox family, which owned the paper, along with our largest radio and TV stations, considered themselves the southern Kennedys. And they were as subtle about their biases as their hero, Ted.

Do I expect to see some substantial conservative gains next week? You betcha. But here’s something that may surprise you:

The most important elections next Tuesday won’t be reported on the network news shows.

Yes, the races for the House and Senate are certainly significant. You could even argue that the future of free enterprise depends on them. But consider this: The contests for 37 state governorships and several thousand seats in the various state legislatures are even more important.

I say this for two reasons: One, it is the states that will determine the redistricting that must take place next year. Whatever they do will play a large part in deciding congressional elections for the next 10 years.

You probably already knew that. But here’s something you may not have considered: It is the states, even more than the new Congress, that will decide how far to go in challenging Washington’s enormous appetite for power and pelf.

Already, the attorneys general in 18 states have sued to stop Obamacare in their jurisdictions. But that’s just the beginning. In a couple of weeks, I’ll be writing about one of the most exciting developments I’ve seen in the past 40 years — the growing interest in the nullification movement. Thomas Jefferson had the right idea about how the states could stop an out-of-control Federal government: Just say no!

The revolution starts next Tuesday. I hope you enjoy it.

Until next time, keep some powder dry.

All congressional districts should be nice, even squares, irrerespective of how many people are in each “square”. Anything less is whoremongering for votes.

    • Soldier

obviosuly congressional districts on state borders should be curved to match the contours of the state border on one or more sides of the square, but otherwise as square in shape as possible.

      • Lewis Munn

Why not use octagons? Or dodecagons?? They tile nicely too, and conform much better to the curved parts of state boundaries.

Only problem may be finding public officials who can cope with that many sides!

Also, since many state lines are rivers, how about using the Corps of Engineers to straighten out the rivers to reflect geometric state boundaries? They oughtta be good for something constructive!!

Flushman, did your Blarney doll get too many pin holes in it, from your pin head? Any smuck that voted for Onumnutts sure didn’t read or research the marxist muslim moron, even a 5 minute read at the library! So why don’t all you sorry socialist loving morons, head to any 3rd world reject land mass, I’m sure Mexico, will let you addled drug mind group, a free pass. Everyone knows flushman, will suck on anything to ruin his brain, even if it nano size and under powered.

    Guys,

Everyone needs to work together…Democrats & Republicans…Tea Party…Beer Party would be better…maybe someone should start one…the world has been about power, control and wealth since the day The Great Creator gave our ancestors their way and let people be in control of it…people can be extremely selfish, spitefull, foolish…it never ends…everyone tells only their side of the story to satisfy the world of appearances…abuses of power by leaders lead to disasters in an endless chain…Pharohs, Emperors, Kings, Queens, Prime Ministers, Presidents, Dukes, Duchess, Governors, Senators, Congressman, Mayors, Governmental Bureacrats, District Attorneys, Judges,Religious Leaders(Christians, Jews, Muslims etc.)..abuses of power never end…

If we treat everyone as a true equal…then we do not have any need for all the specialty laws do we?…also, there needs to be a law that gives precidence to doing what is morally correct…such a law would be an override to correct all those would be, could be, should be laws that are nothing but guilt by association and unconstitutional…we are our brothers keeper…we are supposed to help one another only do good things on a daily basis…and to stop one another from doing bad things on a daily basis before things get worse…the whole concept of letting bad things happen…trying to allow more and more individuals get involved in bad things to be able to arrest and convict more of them goes against the teachings of The Great Creator…all religions entail Creation by a single god or at least a group of god`s…then we are all brothers and sisters…the true God or even the idea of multiple god`s being prejudiced against their own creation and instigating evil mistreatment against part of their created family goes against reason…simply, Do Unto Other`s…

What have our economic advisors been doing since 2002?

The federal government, state governments and local governments all have economic advisors that are supposedly to be utilized by those responsible governmental and business leaders to ensure a stable economy…jobs…balanced budgets…just what has been going on?

Everyone needs to work together…common sense needs to prevail…unions need to be fully productive while working safely to ensure that investors make a profit…yes, we have to be environmentally safe…all those who are arrogant enough to argue against protecting the good earth and all the flora and fauna that God gave us will not not be so arrogant when their time comes to answer to God on this subject…I do not object to those investors who seek/obtain wealth reasonably within a capitalist system…I in fact want them to obtain reasonable wealth for their money and efforts…but only in a truly superficial world is gold and diamonds worth more than clean air, water, and fertile land and all the good things that are grown from it…until we ruin things to the extreme and go without these things will everyone truly appreciate them…hopefully, that will not happen…

Everyone needs to be trading apples for apples…if in the USA…we build manufacturing plants…using safe OSHA construction operations…using EPA environmentally safe manufacturing standards…using OSHA safe wortk practices…producing non-toxic goods…hopefully, governmental agencies are doing their jobs correctly…those are all good things…being the best at all those things is why we were # 1 for all those years…good paying jobs stimuilated the economy…the economy grew…we were the world leaders…manufacturing…banking…were we not?

Banking…cash flows…these are items that we were very good at for a long time…what happened?

    GREED!…

You can not take bonuses until all business expenses and taxes have been paid for the business operation in question…also, it is a very good idea to have some money set aside for future maintenance of the facilities etc…business owners/directors need to be responsible and not excessive…labor needs to be in tune with the owners/directors to ensure profits are made…the productivity must be there…business owners/directors must limit their numbers and bonuses…the labor group must not pad the system with non-productive workers…none of this is rocket science…

Now, it seems as if the leaders that were running our country for a long time were at a higher level than the most recent bunch…there have always been crooked leaders…there have always been abuses of power…but overall there was enough common sense and the willingness to share that allowed the USA to prosper…workers will be more productive if they receive a better wage and decent working conditions…tyranny is not as productive as Democracy…Capitalism is the most productive when properly executed…team work is more productive as well…

Now, let our leaders lead…by team work…by honesty and fairness…by openess and friendship…by actually achieving the goals they set as a group…not Democrats versus Republicans but as our leaders…business leaders included…special interest groups need to be reasonable…they can do it…PORK is probably a large amount of these budgets…we have a lot of hard working and talented people in this country…we can do it!

Wouldn’t it be great? It’s too bad it can never happen. In this country there is too much diversity.

      • yoohooti

        Don’t you mean GREED

      • Jana

        Karolyn,
Make up your mind. In the above post you espoused diversity. Either you do or you don’t.

      • Karolyn

Jana, if you don’t understand what I’m saying, I’m not going to explain it to you.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        karolyn,
I can’t help but think the post above that accused you of being a very bitter discontented person was right. You say two different things in two posts and when someone calls you on it you get very defensive instead of trying to clear the misconception up!!!

      • Kate8

JoeH, That’s what happens when one’s concept of truth is always relative.

    • Wayne

Jack54, well said. You will never get those Liberals to work with anyone as they want the govenment to keep them ,and we, the people, are getting sick of keeping them. They have their own strange ideas and they will not falter from their ideology. To work together means you need to share ideas. What functioning ideas do they possess?

  • http://www.America-Betrayed-1787.com Oliver Woods

I’m looking forward to Tuesday evening also. But until there is a fundamental return to the law of God I’m afraid we’re only rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

The National Reform Association, in its founding meeting during the Civil War, declared that “We regard the neglect of God and His law, by omitting all acknowledgment of them in our Constitution, as the crowning original sin of the nation and slavery as one of its natural outgrowths.” Convinced that the Civil War constituted an act of Divine judgment for rejecting the authority of Christ in the Constitution, they proposed that we renew our national covenant with God by the following amendment to the Preamble:

“WE, THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES, [recognizing the being and attributes of Almighty God, the Divine Authority of the Holy Scriptures, the law of God as the paramount rule, and Jesus, the Messiah, the Savior and Lord of all,] in order to form a more perfect union…do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America”.

The great need of the hour is for leaders who will renew the national covenant with god and restore the religious test oath, in which officials must swear to govern according to the Bible (Article VI, Section 3). If national leaders refuse to do this, then it is the duty of state and local officials to call them to account.

That, sir, is inappropriate. We are a diverse nation, not all of whom have the same beliefs.

      • S.C.Murf

Then you need to leave girl. This nation WAS founded on GOD’S principles and the fact that Christ Jesus is LORD. You need to leave

        up the hill
        airborne

      • Karolyn

Well, BOY, I don’t need to do nuthin’! Who made YOU God?

      • Kate8

Karolyn, If conservatives managed to take this country back, and worked to instill our traditional vaues and Constitution as intended by our founders, would you be upset? Or would you accept it?

At least we’d allow you to continue to live as you do and make your own choices. They main difference would be that we would not FORCE our values on you, nor would we allow you to FORCE yours on us. We would NOT ALLOW anyone to take away our personal liberties, as you folks do.

      • Claire

Kate8– I don’t know about Karolyn, but I would accept it.

      • Kate8

Claire, I asked that question because I’m tired of liberals telling us that they are in charge now and we have to do things their way. They expect us to just accept it. Yet, when conservatives win, they scream and whine the entire time.

      • Karolyn

Kate and Claire – I do not “scream and whine.” Somehow, nobody gets what I’m always trying to convey here. I don’t think you will find a post where I slammed any politico, liberal, libertarian, republican or dem. I have to say that I am afraid of republicans, but I’m not a sheep as so many would believe. It’s just not so simple with me. My posts are mainly geared toward trying to show people the other side, which most are loathe to do. Like it or not, there are two sides to every coin; and like it or not, both sides can bge right in many ways. What I’m looking for is a little less anger and hate and a little more optimisim despite appearances. I have quoted before “As ye think, so shall ye be.” What goes around comes around. The more anger and hate spewed, the more anger and hate is perpetuated. Actually, I don’t know why I bother. I’m addicted to this stupid site!

      • Claire

How can you be addicted to something stupid?

      • Claire

I should clarify–this site is not stupid.

      • Kate8

Karolyn, Haven’t you yet figured out that liberals and conservatives just plain think differently? Our values are different, our expectations of government are different, and our philosophical outlook on pretty much everything is different.

On both sides we view the other side as mentally defective. The right wants to be left alone, the left wants a sugar daddy.

As with any ‘sugar daddy’ set up, it only continues until the benefactor loses any use for you. When you rely on the Heavenly Father, you don’t need a an earthly god to look to for sustenance.

The truth is, we will never agree until h*ll freezes over. That is okay unless one side tries to use force on the other side. The Book you disbelieve says that if you want to know who is of good and who is of evil, you will know them by their fruits. To me, bearing the fruits of tyranny are evil, no matter how seductive the package.

If you think any conservative is ever going to willingly go along with coerced governance, you are mistaken. We have the God-given right to our own pursuits unmolested by government. We will never accept being any kind of slave, because liberty is in our spirits. The price of being ‘taken care of’ is just too high.

      • Marie Mandel

to Kate8: what liberties have been taken away from you? You on the other hand are trying to impose your so-called values on everyone and take away personal choices

      • Kate8

Marie, Another stupid, absurd liberal talking point.

I will say it again. Conservatism stands for smaller government. That means government stays out of ALL our lives. You have the right to believe or disbelieve.

You libs, on the other had, want to take away our right to teach our values to our children, take away our right to our own choice of what kind of healthcare we want, are constantly marginalizing Christian values, want to take away our right to keep the fruits of our labor…and generally regulate ever aspect of our everyday lives.

      • Wayne

Are you still here, Karolyn. I would you would have had your bags packed by now, heading for one of thos Socialist countries you mentioned earlier. You have it too easy here, you not going to leave this kind of life, are you?

      • Wayne

Karolyn, I don’t believe I have heard anyone on this forum saying that we should all share the same belief, but we should all want the best for our country, and for our children, and grandchildren who will follow us. Look back through the history from the begining of this country. We have never had Socialism and look at how we progressed. Look at all the great things, and all the great people this country has produced under this system. Great inventions like the Wright Brother’s airplane, Bell produced the telephone, Henry Ford’s mass production of the automobile, Samuel F. B. Morse produce the first successful telegraph. I could go on and on with the great inventions under the free market place where people could work without restraints from the government. Can any of you Liberals discredit what I have mentioned above. We have had the best under a free market place. We should never want NObama or our Congress do away with free people, and the great minds that have shaped this country into a great nation. Who would want otherwise would have to be inbeciles. The things you are enjoying now that most people take for granted like all the things I mentioned above came from a free market place, not Socialism, or Communism. Remember, all of these great things we enjoy came from great people working in a environment of no, or little government intrusion and Liberals want to destroy this concept. I just have to shake my head as I simply cannot believe it. Get on your knees and pray this will never happen. We don’t want to destroy a great system, and great people with principles, that has worked hard since the inception of the great nation.

    • Angel Wannabe

Well said Oliver and God Bless!

  • texastuxguy

Sorry friends, mr is dead right. Part of that agenda I spoke of is term limits. It can be done. Referendums at the state level were started in ’94, but lost steam because the Dems lost the Congress. Little did we know the real enemy was on both sides of the aisle. Career politicians, including staffers and bureaucrats are parasites. The bankrolls for public jobs of all kinds are enormous and their retirement plans are guaranteed to go up regardless of inflation or economic problems. Our public sector produces nothing but a bill taxpayers have to foot. Term limits for all. We should all have to work for a living.

  • mr

Unfortunately, Many people still believe that Obama is the best thing
for us, including members of my family. They still dont see the
damage being done. The subject of Obama is never mentioned in front
of me. They dont believe he is Muslim. They dont believe Obama hates America. They dont see his actions and what they do see, they
justify it or just look the other way. I truly dont understand this mentality.
I have a suggestion for getting rid of Congress. Start with the ones that have been there the longest. They are probably the most corrupt, as they have done NOTHING to make America better. They have sat for years making themselves rich off of our hard earned money.

Limit terms as the longer in office, the more comfortable they get and thats when the greed and corruption begin. Actually, the corruption probably starts on the CAMPAIGN TRAIL.
    GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

    • yoohooti

      I like your thinking

    • Wayne

mr, they are not looking & they are not being objective. They have their eye closed. Don’t listen to what NObama says, watch what he has done, and what he is currently doing. I am surprised what NObama has already done and people still can’t see it. It shows me they are not looking. This is the reason this country is in for a rude awaking as people are still asleep. I can understand you flustration as I have this situation in my own family also. Golly, if they would just wake up and watch him. NObama is not even trying to hide it anymore. I personaly have heard him say he was a Muslim three different times on slip ups. Even George Stephonopolous had to correct him one time. NObama said to George, even though I am a Muslim, George stopped him and said, you mean Christian. NObama looked sheepish and said, yes, I mean Christian. Do you believe that a person could even forgot their faith? I don’t think so.

    • Teresa

I suggest you read the book mafia media…and hand out to your family. Our nation is worse off than anyone realizes.

      • Wayne

Teresa, I doubt they would even read anything detrimental to this president. They have their minds, and eyes, closed. This really irritates the heck out of me for some one to close their mind, and not listen to anyone else opinions. I can remember when O. J. Simpson killed his wife, and her friend. There were people that would never accept the fact that it was indeed, O. J. Simpson who committed this terrible crime. My Mother-in-Law, God Bless her, she died at a ripe old age of 97, would never believe that O. J. could do this. Of course with me being in law enforcement, I kept telling her that in my opinion, and from the facts I had heard on TV, I thought that he was the person who committed this crime. But she just closed her mind down and would never accept it. There again, like the old saying, you can take a horse to the watering hole, but you can’t make it drink.

  • Ram

Auditing the FED, is the only real answer. Of course, Democrats have stopped that from happening for years. To be fair, so have some of the RHINO Republicans. The only real answer we have, is to charge interest on products coming from China, which is almost everything. The keys to this is a majority of Republicans with fiscal responsibility. Congress holds the purse strings, at least until Obama anoints himself king or calls for marshal law. China needs us, and this tax would wipe out our debt faster than anything else this administration has come up with. Of course, their still spending…so that would have to stop, and with a lame duck session coming up…do you think that will happen with Progressives in charge?

    • Wayne

There has been a lot of bad Republican over the years as well as Democrats. This is more of a reason to back the Tea Party, and try to find people with Conservative value that will listen to the will of the people. I think Republican Ted Stevens, from Alaska, was a bad Republican. Remember, he built the bridge to no where. I personally will not stick up for a bad Republican any more than I would a bad Democrat. This is what has happened in our two party system. The Communist and Socialist did not have a ticket to run on so they confiscated, mostly the Democratic ticket, for their platform to run on. If they would come out and say, I am running on the Communist, or Socialist Ticket, who would vote for them? But, since they are masquerading behind the Democratic ticket they stand a lot better chance to fool the people. Well, you can fool some of the people all the time, and all the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all the people all the time. This was Abraham Lincoln making this quote. He was completely a genious when he made this one.

  • Christina

    Fantastic comments by all…
The Financial Mess started under BushJr’s watch in Spring of 2007 & I know this because I was turned down by my Bank of 15+years for an EquityLoan! I also believe that the Federal Reserve under Greenspan’s watch started to collapse when he kept dropping the interest rates! Im with other’s who believe that the Federal Reserve should be audited but Im guessing the Bilderberg’s [the shadow government] does not want this to occur!

ThankGod for Social Security; I turned 62 this October and I can collect retirement benefits! Do I like being ‘beholding’ to the Government no way; but I earned the right to collect having worked for 30.5 years and never once being layed off or collecting unemployment!

    • ValDM

Good luck collecting even a small fraction of what you paid into SS. It’s broke and now Odumbo wants to confiscate 401K’s and IRA’s to make it solvent again. What a deal!!!

      • Buzz75

Actually, Christina will probably collect a heck of a lot more than she ever put into Social Security. Most Americans collect more SS in the first ten years than they ever put into the system. Christina may well live to 85 or 90, maybe longer. That would put her on SS for at least 25 years. She admits she worked 30.5 years, which is almost the amount of time she will be collecting SS. It will be our children and grandchildren, through much higher taxes, who will be footing the bill for Christina and the rest of us.

    • yoohooti

hang on to your hat because you won’t collect for long

    • Lewis Munn

      Christina,

Watch the SS! Gives the government the power now to tap your bank account dry!

And gives them the power over whether you will live or die.

And now they take part of your SS to pay off the illegals and the sneer-do-wells, with a tax.

Be very careful to check fully before you go rock your life away in bliss, believing you are well taken care of. You may just be disposed of!

    • Dale on left coast

Wasn’t 2007 the year the banks ran out of money cause they had borrowed it to all the folks that bought houses they could not afford under the Klinton Community Reinvestment Act? Trillions of worthless loans sold around the world as bogus derivitives.
Bush to his credit tried to stop the insanity on several occasions . . . but Dodd, Fwank, Watters and the rest of the lieberal loonies would have no part of it!!!

    • Wayne

Christina, not every one is sticking up for Bush. NObama promised to unite this country, and promised that the unemployment rate would not go any higher than 8 percent. Since then the unployment rate went up to 9.6 percent, our national debt went up about $3,000,000,000,000 and NObama promised us Utopia. NObama has taken over two car companies, the banks and all the other Comministic things he has done that the liberals fail to see. Where is this Utopia that he promised? I guarantee you, you will never see it. This country is a lot worse today that it was before NObama’s becoming president. I can see this country will be lucky to ever pull out of this mess, even with a Republican Congress, as NObama will most likely block everything. I invite the liberals to open their eyes and be more objective. Open your mind and watch and see what it happening. If you do this with an open mind you will be mad as hell what is happening to this country. Even if the Republican take over both houses this Nov. don’t expect miracles as it is going to take years and years to get this economic mess straighened out. Maybe we can start looking into the future after we fire NObama in 2012.

    • Wayne

Christina, I just heard this morning, by a very knowledgeable person, that this economy fiasco started way back under President Jimmy Carter when he first initiated the CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) which forced the banks to give loans to people who could not afford them. The intent was good, but over the years since than, and through President Clinton years things got worse. President Clinton had the opportunity to change this, but he neglected to do so. The Democrats keep blaming the Republicans for all this econonic mess, but he stated that the Democrats were in involved in this more than the Republicans were. I guess it is like the pot calling the kettle black. A few of the Republicans in Congress do have some blame in this, but the Democrats wants to make out that it was al the Republicans fault. According to this speaker, it is not so.

      • Wayne

I noticed some typos after I made the post, like I normally do, but excuse them.

    • Marie Mandel

      Christina, I second that.

  • texastuxguy

OK GUYS… We need an agenda. The TEA party has one, the Reugs have one, but there seem to be few other alternatives. Let’s start a national discourse on what to do, not what not to do. Let’s referendum the FED into the history books, overturn Obamacare and keep the tax rates as they are for now. Can we all agree on that?

    • Christina

      Sounds like a plan, texastuxguy!!!

    • Teresa

Absolutely, we also need to try to pass law to require you to speak/read English in order to obtain drivers license in the states.

      • Wayne

Teresa, I have always felt the same way. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Why should we be catering to people who do not want to learn our language. Push 1 for English, press 2 for Spanish is a bunch of bull to me. As far as I am concerned when people do not want to assimilate into our customs, this only weakens our nation. It does not strengthen it. Maybe Congress wants to turn this nation into a tribal nation like the Indians were before the white man came over. We, the English, were united in our quest and the Indians were not. This is the the reason we were able to conquer them. Had the Indians been united, like we used to be, they would have kicked the white man’s butt. I have alway liked this old saying, and it is so true. United we stand, divided we fall. What happened that caused the fall of Rome???? I will let you draw your own conclusion on this one. The most of you will know this, but I can see a few on this forum will not be able to understand it!!!!

  • Howard R Gray

It will be great when enough of “them” are out of the doors of the legislature. That being said, there will be much more to do to keep them out for a generation or more. There has always been a ballet between the takers and the makers, that never changes but the ratio between them does. Next week will change the balance for the better. Remember, it is never permanent eternal vigilance is essential, freedom isn’t free we must ensure that the takers are kept out of the trough.

Socialism has been the clarion call of the left for over 100 years and more, when it succeeds the outcome is never good. Nation after nation that adopts the vices of social burglary declines into the slough of despond to quote John Buchan. On polling day you have the power to prevent that decline; go out and vote “them” out of office.

Put into office those who understand that excessive laws, regulation, taxation and inflation kills the wealth of the nation. It really is the time to shut down as much as possible of the kleptocracy, though that will take a lifetime to put right, at least start the process next week. That old Vulcan promise “live long and prosper” isn’t such a bad idea but we have to contribute to the process, that’s a permanent duty. Go vote!

    • Karolyn

Socialism has done just fine in other countries like Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Holland, Austria, etc.

      • Angel Wannabe

        Have a nice trip karaolyn!!!

      • http://yahoo Robert

        Karolyn is correct.

      • Teresa

        ha ha, AMEN

      • Karolyn

I would be nice to live in a country where the feeling is “One for all and all for one” instead of a divisive country like this one.

      • Claire

Karolyn: It is too bad you are upset with our great country. I never want to live in another country. I have never had the desire to leave America. I will be loyal to America and all Americans (excluding politicians) until the day I die. Yes, Americans are divided. We can thank the “noble” politicians for this. Democrats as well as Republicans. Neither party is without fault. We can also thank the MSM, the radical talk show hosts, and the spreaders of garbage. As far as I am concerned this has all been a trap to set the minds of Americans into believing the way they want us to believe. I really think the “goal” was to set us all up to be fighting amongst ourselves. They are all chortling with glee because they know they have accomplished what they set out to do. They know they have upset the hell out of all of us, and that is exactly what they wanted to happen. I will remain neutral, I will not be swayed by any of these so-called idiots. The Democrats are no better than the Republicans and vice versa. I will be voting for a Libertarian and an Independent. Sorry folks, but until such time decent politicians run for an office, I will not be voting for the lesser of two evils. And when a person really stops and thinks about it, this is what we will be doing come Tuesday.

      • Vigilant

        Karolyn,

“I[t] would be nice to live in a country where the feeling is “One for all and all for one” instead of a divisive country like this one.”

You’ll find that in North Korea; a rice paddy is waiting for you.

A Republic such as ours is a messy place in which to be; divisiveness is the product of both free interchange of ideas, and the need to counter the propaganda of the left. Get used to it.

      • Rick Quill

Then move to Venezuela, Cuba, Cnina, or Iran even.

      • Karolyn

Rick, Vigilant, et al – You just will never “get” it. (shaking head) I look to a higher ideal that unfortunately will not be because there is more division than common goal between us. (That common goal being peace and harmony that could be achieved if that WERE the common goal.)

      • Dale on left coast

You must live under a bridge Karolyn . . . Germany has had a conservative leaning govt for severalyears, Sweden just elected to a second term the most conservative PM ever. Denmark is moving to the right. It must be nice living in lieberal la la land . . . just make it up as you go. The USSR was socialist as is Cuba . . . all failed states . . . and you clueless lefties want to try it again. Wasn’t it Einstein that said “repeating the same experiment expecting a different result is insanity”!!!

      • Wayne

Karolyn, then get the h— out of this country, and go to one of these countries if they are better than this country. People like you irritate the, you know what, out of me. We are going to bring this country back to it’s founding principles so you had better leave before then. I know for a fact you couldn’t stand a nation that had values and principles. Good bye…

      • Karolyn

“Wa,wa,wa! You can’t play in my sandbox because you don’t play the way I want you to!”

      • Rick Quill

I wouldn’t want to play in your sandbox because it’s no doubt your “litter-box” too.

      • Wayne

Karolyn, name 10 things that you either like, or hate about this country, and how you would change it. There are soldiers dying to keep your butt safe and sound, and you don’t see what this country has done for you. Shame on you. Don’t aways expect the country, or taxpayers, do things for you, try giving back to your country, you might find it enlightening to do something for some one else for a while.

      • Karolyn

I DON’T HATE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS COUNTRY BUT THE PEOPLE WHO CAN’T SEE BEYOND THE ENDS OF THEIR NOSES!

      • Jana

        Karolyn,
You will have a lot of those where you work.

      • Kate8

Uh, Karolyn, I don’t think socialism has done so fine in those countries. Aside from the fact that they are running out of other people’s money, they are being overwhelmed with Muslims who are intent on bringing Sharia Law.

If you pay attention to what is REALLY going on in Europe you would know that the situation is getting pretty dire over there, and the people are in a great deal of angst. In fact, they are astounded that we are making the same mistakes they made, and they are trying to warn us.

      • Wayne

Kate8, yes, just look at Greese and you will see rioting in the streets. I will take this country over all those Socialist countries anytime. However, we are going to have to take this country back from the liberals, or we may be facing the same thing before too long. This administration, and this Congress, is swiftly moving us in this direction. I just hope and pray that we have enough people with enough common sense to see what is happening and vote for the right people on election day. I still think about the fact that 53 percent of the people voted for NObama. It goes to show that a of of people do not do their home work, and will vote for anyone that appears to be a good speaker. Being a good speaker is not a sign of a quality person. Hitler was a very good, and convincing speaker as well. Just look how that fiasco turned out. Many people lost their lives under this dictator doing WW2. Like I have stated many times on here, Nobama is a Muslim since. I have personally heard him say it, and the fact that he denies it, is unsettling to me. If he lies about this, how can we believe him on anything else. I have heard him say he was a Muslim 3 different times. This is a fact, regardless what people may tell you. I would never, ever lie, even on the people I disagree with.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Wayne,
Let’s not forget the rioting in France!!!

      • Kate8

Don’t forget that a good percentage of that 53% who voted for O were illegitimate votes. That’s what worries me. The democrats are so adept and experienced at cheating. They’ve turned it into a true political art form.

      • Craig

And just think, OUR country is way better than all those combined. We are the greatest nation in the world, because of our freedom and capitalistic economy. Socialism has never made a country great.

      • Vigilant

        Truer words were never spoken!

  • Janice Fortin

“orgasmic” Doctor? really! Have you been on HARD BALL lately? Bush was no prize, but the weapon of mass destruction is now sitting in the white house. Anyone with one oz of any common sense recognizes it
and you don’t have to be Einstein, Doc. THIS IS TYRANNY. Have you heard the czars speak at all? And you do know, huh Doc, they are NOT accountable to YOU or any other American alive, except the very questionable American? in that white house? Doctor, do you even vaguely realize the meaning that president respects the Chinese flag he planted on the white house lawn more than the AMERICAN ONE? that he has allowed muslims “dispensation” from OBAMACARE? Allowed muslims to pray in public street when AMERICA HAS ALWAYS BEEN A CHRISTIAN COUNTRY AND CANNOT PLACE A RELIGIOUS OBJECT IN ANY PUBLIC PLACE? That he has in fact and ILLEGALLY encouraged 11 FOREIGN COUNTRIES to take court action against a STATE OF AMERICA OF WHICH HE HAS TAKEN AN OATH TO DEFEND AGAINST INVASION? NOVEMBER 2 IS TAKE OUT THE TRASH DAY AND LET’S SEE YOU DO IT, AMERICA!

    • http://yahoo Robert

Remember the freedom of speech, part of the constitution? American’s are not all Christians.

      • Christin

No, but you seem to ENJOY the Freedoms, Liberties and Rights endowed by our CREATOR given to you as stated in the Declaration of Independance, Federalist Papers and and set up in the Constitution of the United States Of America…
… or should I say “gave” you, because Godless Progressives have taken over and it looks like we will not able to keep the Republic we were given.

Are you on God’s side, Robert, or satan’s… you must chose???

      • Karolyn

People can believe in God and not be Christian.

      • Vigilant

I thought you said you believed in reincarnation in another post.

      • Karolyn

Yes I do, but that does not preclue a belief in God. Not believing everything the Bible says (or the interpretations thereof) does not mean a person doesn’t believe in God.

      • Vigilant

        Agreed.

      • Christin

        Karolyn & Vigilant,

The Bible is NOT a Cafeteria.
You can’t just go through the Holy Bible, the inhierant word of God… God Breathed… and say: I like this book, but not that verse, I believe that Chapter, but don’t believe that biblical person ever lived or event ever happened.

You either Believe the Whole Bible or Not. Just believing in God does not get you saved/born again or to Heaven. Satan believes in God! And he is NOT going to Heaven. Muhammed believed in Allah, but he is NOT in heaven. Native American Indians believe in the Great Spirit. Many societies believe in a higher power.

A Christian is a Christ Follower:
*Christians believe in God, the Father, Creator of the Heavens and the Earth.
*Christians believe that Jesus, The Christ- the Son of God, was born of the virgin Mary, died on the Cross for EVERYONES sins… past, present, and future,… and rose on the third day and is seated on the Right hand side of God.
*Christians believe that when you chose to repent of your sins and ask Jesus to come into your heart to be the Lord of your life your name is written in the Book of Life in Heaven, ALL the Angels rejoice, and the Holy Spirit lives in you until the day of redemption. (You can not be demon posessed as you are filled with the Holy Spirit.)

If you choose the Holy Bible, and the Trinity: God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit you have aligned yourself with God…

…the rest of you (who deny the those above) have aligned yourself with the devil, aka satan/ the fallen angel, Lucifer and his copycat trinity: The Beast, Anti-Christ, and the False Prophet.

It is as simple as that, my friends.

      • Vigilant

Well, Karolyn, it looks like we are in the same boat here, which doesn’t often happen (:-)

Not to worry; by Christin’s definition, the Founders themselves were Luciferians.

    • Marie Mandel

Why don’t you admit it, that Mr Obama only sin is being black, that is really your problem. You are a bigot and a racist, and that is the bottom line with most of you and you call yourselves christians. Shame on you!

      • libertytrain

Good grief – the race card again and again, please try something a little fresh and real that could be debated.

You know I really hate being a lightning rod. But the simple fact is that most of you have no idea of which “rascals” to throw out, nor the testicular fortitude to accomplish this feat. Its far easier for you to bash Barry O, its almost orgasmic for some of y’all. Marxist this, Socialist that, the left is delusional, liberalism is a mental disorder (ala Michael Wiener). A question: Who is worse… a fascist or a socialist? Perhaps you should take a look at COG (Continuity of Government) and then you can tell again how great Bush and Cheney were for this country. Personally, I can’t wait until you recognize who the true rascals are. Why would you take the Devil as your friend (whether he be a teabagger, indie, repub or dem) when he is your sworn enemy?

    ****************************************************
Dr. Mabuse…………The true friends America has are ethics and honesty which have been abandoned for too many years, most of our others friends are either fighting over seas with their hands tied behind their back and who are also being deprived of their rights to vote and many of the remaining group of our service men and women are not being reconized properly by our society.
As our dear president said to the latinos group he was trying to recruit ” get out there and punish your enemies ”
With just that in mind, who do you think is the real enemy there ???

yOU ARE RIGHT AND I HAVE SEEN THE SCHOOL SYSTEMS IN THIS COUNTRY COMPLETELY FAIL US. I TAUGHT SCHOOL FOR 30 YRS IN THE PUBLIC(NOW GOVERNMENT) RUN SCHOOLS AND THAT IS WHY ALL OF OUR GRANDCHILDREN ARE BEING HOME SCHOOLED. THE SCHOOLS ARE THE WORSE DENS OF POLITICAL CORRECTNESS TO THE POINT OF DISTORTING OUR HISTORY AND POISONING OUR CHILDREN’S MINDS WITH ALL SORTS OF LIBERAL/COMMUNISTS AND EVEN TRASH/GUTTER THINKING WITH PUNISHMENTS IN PLACE FOR ANY QUESTIONING OR NON-ACCEPTANCE BY THE STUDENT. EVEN SOL’S ARE POLITICALLY CORRECT TO THE POINT OF PUSHING LIES AND DISTORTIONS. I HAVE SEEN AS THE PUBLIC SLEEPS THEIR CHILDREN ARE BEING TURNED AGAINST THEIR OWN HERETAGE AND TRUTH, AND THEY ARE BEING TAUGHT WHAT TO THINK NOT ‘HOW TO THINK’.

    • Wayne

Will, you have been there, and done that. I hold your comment in high esteem since I know you khow what your talking about. However, the liberal will let his slip off their back like water on a duck. They cannot see beyond their fingertips. I was in law enforcement for 30 years and I had also worked around all kinds of people. When you were through with the bad students we had to deal with them later. I, for one, despise all the political correctness. I speak my mind. I say Merry Christmas, not Happy Holidays. I call a spade a spade. I don’t write Christman such as Xmas. I try my best to be the type person as the people were when this country was formed. I believe in values, principles, honesty and all the rest. It is too bad that our government has taken all this out of the school system. It not only made your job harder, but it makes law enforcement’s jobs harder as well. We had a teacher friend who taught for 24 years and then took a buy out. I think that is what she called it. She was tickled to death to get out away from all those nasty kids, and some of the hasty parents who would stick up for their kid rowdy behavious, or what ever they would do. Thanks for sticking in there for so long. You deserve a pat on the back.

      • Vigilant

        Will and Wayne,

Thank you both for your service. Your postings are encouraging in the sense that I know there are still real Americans who love their country and still want it to fulfill the promises of the Founding Fathers.

      • Wayne

Thank you very much for the nice comment, Vigilant. I am a country born boy that knows what hard work is all about. Besides, my parents taught me the Golden Rule of; do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I still hold that concept to be true. I have worked hard from a kid up, so I know the value of hard work.

  • Neil A. Dixon

Why do we keep saying “socialist” or “progressive” when talking about Mr. Obama and his comrads? If anyone out there has had even beginning college political science 101, he knows that the actions and agenda of Mr. Obama and his minions has been one of Marxism and Communism. Using labels such as “progressive” or “socialist” is merely putting sugar coating on what people seem to refrain from saying. Their intentions are quite clear even though they have tried to obsfuscate them. Their intentions come through in their words “make fair” or “spread the wealth around.” I would think the refugees or their children that fled from the U.S.S.R. or any communist state to come to the land of opportunity must be quaking in fear. They know what these people are and know what they would do if they had enough power. Hopefully we do cut into their plans on Tuesday the 2nd but we can’t stop there. A vigilant fight must be waged from that point on because even a landslide against them will not be enough to stop them immediately. Every aspect of American life will have to be won back one portion at a time.

  • Orie

We’ve already gone through nearly 2 years of the so called OPR axis
(Obama-Pelosi-Reid) Remember an old Spaniard adage: “If this is the sample, please don’t open the package!” Are we going to risk two more years down the road for their ‘indecent proposal’ to somehow work it all out? As it is now, it’s taking us nowhere but down. Don’t allow America to be the land of experiment rather than OPPORTUNITY! The new 110th (liberal) Congress has only added nearly 4.5 trillions to the national debt since 2007. That’s -by any standards- unacceptable. As Chip Woods put it, “let’s kick the rascals out”. I’ve always believed in the American people’s wisdom and common sense. Let everyone remember that just in case they might’ve forgotten. Aside from my comments, I must confess that it frightens me the fact that an American president (ironically) bears a full Muslem-origin name in times like these. Is it purely coincidental or perhaps related to just fate, even prophecy? You decide. It just scares the hell out of me.

My great-grandfather Patrick O’Malley came to the USA from County Cork, Ireland. He settled in Ohio and worked in the Steel Mills. The Irish were called “Shanty Irish ” or in todays language “Ghetto “. But,with one big difference, the Irish asked for nothing, work hard, parents stayed together and raised families. Four generations of Patrick’s family worked in the Steel mills, with myself being the last.Simple hard work and faith in God and Country has always been the American way.If someone even suggested the idea of redistribution of wealth to my great-grandfather they would have to deal with a strong right hook.

Pat …….Those were the good old days were people were taking care of themselves without so much Government intervention.
A simple handshake was a contract and a simple punch in the nose with the promise or more to come if that contract was broken was pretty much the extent of the drama,,
Then came progress and educated fools the democrats like to take credit for, Lawyers, Unethical doctors, crooked judges and all of the human right organizations…….And here we are,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

      • Pat

        Mick,
You have correctly addressed the good old days when a handshake confirmed an agreement and a punch in the nose solved most problems. But you are wrong about the present and the future. Not all lawyers or doctors are liberal democrats. The very idea of the immigrants who came too America was for there children and grandchildren to become lawyers and doctors, not steelworkers. My daughter is a attorney and my future son-in law is a judge.Neither is a democrat.

Pat ….You’re right ,I should never put everyone in the same bag..
We still have some good doctors and some good lawyers but they’re so damn hard to find.
I am glad to see that some members of your family have retained some common sense..
As for your take on immigrants coming to America for their children and grand children to become lawyers and doctors I frown on a bit, it take more than just doctors and lawyers to create a good society.
I believe most immigrants came to America for a better life and to escape some of their Governments oppression and for the opportunity to succeed which doesn’t necessarily mean to have a profession,,There are plenty simple jobs just as respectable as so called professions…

      • Pat

        Mick,

I believe you have a problem with educated professionals, in our society. I do not,as I have known many successful individuals in my lifetime, many highly educated and some without a high school diploma.
Those without the education have succeeded in starting there own businesses. However, all of them have wanted more for there children in the form of education. All working individuals contribute to the good of our country.I know more good lawyers and doctors, than bad. Where do you live that seems to have so many poorly informed professionals ?

      • http://yahoo Robert

Wake up! Those days are gone. There ARE NOT any jobs here, due to Reagan starting the war, on America’s workers. This started the largest transfer of money, to the rich. The steel, mining, and auto industries, where people with out education could get meaning jobs, are gone. The only jobs left, are service.

      • DaveH

Ah, the magic of envy. It clouds the minds of even intelligent people. While the Government robs us blind, those with the clouded minds blame anybody but the real source of our impoverishment, Big Government. They spend 37% of our GDP. You don’t think that does any damage to the economy? Not only that, but there is the hidden tax of inflation, and the hidden tax bestowed on our economy by stifling regulations.
You are watching the wrong hand!

      • Wayne

Pat, we are glad yours turned out ok. But, you have to admit that there are a lot of crooked judges, attornys, and other professionals out there. There are good one too, I’ll agree that, but the bad ones seem to drag the name of the good ones down. If the good ones are able to, they are going to have to clean out those bad ones. I liken this to throwing all the rotten apples out of the barrel before they have a chance to spoil all the good ones.

      • Pat

        Robert,
Wake up those jobs are gone! Maybe so, but Ronald Reagan had nothing to do with it! We have done away with these high paying ( Union ) jobs all by ourselves. Robert how is that Toyota working out for you? I do not know what kind of car you drive, but a logical guess is that you drive a foreign car. Guess what killed our steel and auto industries? No politician either democrat or republican forced anyone to purchase foreign cars, appliances, construction equipment, or any other steel related products! You dumb asses have caused it by yourselves.

      • Jana

It wasn’t Reagan, it is the unions. If the unions were truly for the little man like they claim then why are their Presidents or whatever they are called so crooked and so rich?

      • Vigilant

        Pat and jana,

You’re both right. The migration of jobs to overseas areas was a combination of things.

Manufacturing is a “dirty” industry. OSHA, EPA and other “big gubment” jerks regulated, fined, taxed and overpaperworked these industries to a ridiculous point, making the cost of doing business in the US prohibitive beyond measure.

The unions killed (and are still killing) US industry by demanding wages and benefits that are disproportionate to the value (and quality) of the products made. Some years ago, they priced their products not just out of overseas markets, but out of their own domestic market as well.

Add to this the fact that corporate taxes in the US are the highest of all indutrialized nations, and you can begin to see why things are the way they are.

It’s no accident that Reagan’s relaxation of onerous government requirements on industry, as well as lowering taxes, ushered in the longest sustained period of prosperity in US history, something the left is loathe to talk about.

      • Claire

Pat–I am inclined to agree with you.

      • DaveH

        Good points, Vigilant.

      • Jana

        Dr. Mabuse,
Have you ever heard the expression of an educated idiot? What you are espousing sure fits that description.
Obama has proudly announced that he has always been enamored by the Socialist and Communist and Marxist ideologies and has surrounded himself with these people. He sought them out as a teenage, and he still surrounds himself with them. He embraces these ideologies and is trying to turn our country into his ideal.

He is one of ours. If we turn on each other, what chance do you think we have? Besides that, he is right. The Republicans have been complicit in building Government since I’ve been politically aware, with the exception of a very few like Reagan or Ron Paul (both really Libertarians). How can we ever get our Freedom back if we keep electing the same kind of people that helped take it away in the first place?

      • Jana

        DaveH,
He may be for us but he sure doesn’t sound like it. He sounds like he thinks he is above us and a smart alec to boot.

      • Jana

        Dave H,
        When he stated
” But the simple fact is that most of you have no idea of which “rascals” to throw out, nor the testicular fortitude to accomplish this feat. Its far easier for you to bash Barry O, its almost orgasmic for some of y’all. Marxist this, Socialist that, the left is delusional, liberalism is a mental disorder (ala Michael Wiener). A question: Who is worse… a fascist or a socialist?”

Someone who says something like this without making himself clear is just not as smart as he thinks he is.

      • DaveH

Yes, Jana, his sentence structure was confusing, but he ended with “Why would you take the Devil as your friend (whether he be a teabagger, indie, repub or dem) when he is your sworn enemy?”
And I am going by his previous comments on other Web pages, where in my mind he demonstrated a pretty good grasp of reality.

    • Dale on left coast

Doc . . . fascists are socialists. Fascism was invented by Mussolini, a devout socialist. He thought the comunists were far to harsh . . . but being a devout follower of Marx and Engles, Mussolini developed a softer form of comunism, called fascism. Winston Churchill was a Conservative . . . Mussolini was far left of Churchill, but slightly to the right of Stalin. You lefties are so adept at distorting history.

      • DaveH

Doc is not a lefty, Dale.
And Fascism is not Socialism. With Fascism the Government works with favored corporations (crony capitalists) and heavily regulates the economy. With Socialism the Government owns the means of production. They are the same only in the sense that both require strong Government control of the people (akin to tyranny).

    • Wayne

Dr. we do not need your credential to have common sense. It seems that the upper class can’t look down, and see what is happening below them. However, we, the common folks can look up and see what is happening, and we don’t like what we see. We are going to make some changes to this country. We are going to take this country back and demand that our politicians listen to the majority instead of the minority groups that seem to squeal the loudest. I guess it is because the silent majority are all working and don’t have the time to squeal as to the minority groups. Wake up America, let’s bring our country back to its founding principles and to the Conmstitution. This is the way I see it. I think the majority sees it this way also.

    • Teresa

Like I said, you like to “sugar coat” your words and think you are above us. There is the difference, you see WE are the foundation of this great country and we do NOT need someone to tell us how to think, how to “re-distribute” our money, how to tolerate others, how to speak and definitely not how to believe in our religion. It sir is because of people like us that there IS even a government…do you understand that statement? Do you really understand it’s true meaning! That is the difference…you actually DO think some are better than others, that is the thinking of Obama and his associates. You all feel threatened because WE actually do know the difference and the rights of the Constitution, the Constitution that WE all are created equally, that WE fought and are still fighting for.

  • Tom

The elections on Nov. 2 are just one small step on the long journey to national sanity on which we have tentatively embarked. I strongly suspect that, given my current age, I will not be able to live long enough to see where the United States is as a nation at the end of the long, difficult journey that is ahead of us.

The republic, a union, or a partnership of fifty states with a federal government as the fifty-first partner, may not arrive intact at the end of the journey. The fifty-first partner has forgotten its role in the partnership and has begun to see itself as the managing general partner or some such.

Members of Congress must find a use for The Constitution other than for conducting swearing-in ceremonies.

The federal government in Washington is much nearer to self-destructing than the majority of people would be willing to acknowledge. In fact, early on in the 112th Congress, perhaps the 535 members as a collective bunch should take a short field trip over to Arlington to begin the process of selecting the most appropriate burial site for Uncle Sam. Perhaps that should be done as the first order of business before beginning the next act of the long-running clown show and before the next inning of their silly damned intramural fantasy league political game.

Hang on tight! The road ahead is likely to be a really rough ride; rough enough that it may very well shake this nation apart at the seams.

    • Wayne

We definitely need term limits in Congress. They should not serve over two terms. Career politicians tend to become to comfy, and dishonest when they are careen politicians. It is going to have to be we, the people, who enforce this, politicians will not. Just vote them out after two terms.

      • DaveH

Wayne, Term Limits sound comfy, like a nice warm blanket, but they are just a band-aid.
Imagine if we had term limits on all the current Democrats. How do you think they’d vote, knowing they didn’t have to answer to the voters?
And if the voters don’t start learning about economics and why Big Government doesn’t work, they will just put another incompetent, self-serving politician in office. There is no substitute for educated active voters.

  • Gary Frasier Gloversville, N.Y.

Folks we now live in the “United States of Wall Street”. Nothing will change until the money (our Money) is taken out of the equasion.Have we already forgotten about the billions of Dollars (our Dollars) that was turned over to the Wall Street thugs because they were “To Big to Fail”. But we weren’t to big to fail were we?

    • Al Sieber

Gary Fraiser, wait until after the up coming Fed. Reserve Meeting Nov.2-3, and watch for hyperinflation to start. Bernanke will be printing up money like it’s going out of style.

      • HFlashman

        Al….don’t quit your day job.

      • DaveH

The difference between you and Al, Flash? Al believes in voluntary contracts and work to make his money. You believe in getting together with your gang of thieves and taking it from others. Oh yeah, I know, they don’t deserve their high pay. If you believe that then start your own company and undercut them. It’s called competition. Something you Liberals try to stifle.

      • Al Sieber

DaveH, thanks, thats how I get work and sometimes it’s tough with some employees who won’t work. I think “Flashman” likes to deny the truth, or is just plain ignorant.

      • Craig

At least he has a job and is not a moocher like you libtards.

  • http://derrick-lewis.blogspot.com/ Derrick

Well Chip, may I call you Chop okay find we have to deal with the hand we are dealt in life I voted for Obamanomics myself had no idea all these things would happen but I came to a realization about this for the first thing he has no power like we think he has most of the power are people around him in the background puppet and puppeteer is what the situation is so this is sort of like JFK situation but the only thing I seem to agree with is that he cut NASA’s budget that is something I have to agree with 100% after that I felt I could breathe a little but there is much more then what we imagine going on in my opinion the Healthcare thing is something we need but we don’t need Government controlling everything because we see whats going on in China and Burma, once Government controls everything these things can happen but when we look at the situation most people just don’t want a man of color representing our nation, my opinion does not matter I think that when Clinton was in office things were smoothly operated but if Hillary gets in office. I have a hunch she will ruin it all as well but she is the only person I see fit for the occasion. Scara Palin is not going to do anything but follow the Bush’s rule and keep us in the dark she don’t know anymore about running a country, it’s like calling a plumber to fix a transmission this is what happens when you take chances. Bush did not do this all by himself if he did think about it why would we as a nation go after Saddam and we were suppose to be going after Bin Laden this made no sense at all and we never know how to read between lines. We are in the dark and this is what has been going on for the past years.

I don’t trust no political leaders at all none of them are in our best interest, we need to wipe out all the trash and start over all of them are crooks, our treasury dept recently gave 400 Oz Troy Gold Bars to China and turns out they were fake gold Bars, and this is insane so this means the price of gold is high and now everyone needs to stack up on it. Never a honest nation what is going to happen to America?

    • William

derrick. get off the KOOLAID. nothing you say makes a damned bit of sense. the only time the clinton administration ran smooth was the last four years when the Republicans controlled the house. the last two years of the Bush administration was controlled by the dumbocrats,

    • Karolyn

Speaking of Palin, I just heard she’s going to have a reality show. I just can’t believe her and her circus. And then she still says she would pick up the ball and run if there was nobody else with her views running in ’12. Wouldn’t that be fun? A reality show about Pres. Palin in the White House. What a joke she is.

      • Wayne

Karolyn, don’t be so jealous. She is a country girl. She is honest and she would make a great president.

      • http://msn.com LeRoy Lyons

Palin would be a good president! She is honest and that puts her ahead of what we have And she is for free America!!!!I think she would clean up the White House to!!!

      • Karolyn

Because she’s “pl;ain spoken” makes her honest?

      • Marie Mandel

        What is a free America?

      • Claire

Palin is okay, I guess. But I still keep hoping for a woman like Margaret Thatcher.
And hell no, I am not jealous, so no one can pin that label on me. I love my life. I am just trying to seek some sanity in this crazy mixed-up chaos.

      • Craig

Honesty is not a trait liberals think is a good quality in a politician.

      • Teresa

Oh green is your perfect color isn’t it…

      • Karolyn

You have got to be kidding me! I am perfectly happy with myself and my life, thank you very much! Why on earth would I want her life?

      • Teresa

No Karolyn, I don’t think you are happy with your life…you show signs of anger and weakness in your character in your statements. You see, you get angry because of personal quotations..it’s all about YOU. We are angry as a whole, about where our Nation is going, that’s the difference Karolyn.

      • Karolyn

Thank you Dr. Teresa for the analysis.

      • Michael J.

        Teresa,
Thanks, I’d say you hit that nail squarely on the head.

      • (WIA) Wild Indian in Action

Karolyn, Show us how good you really are and start your 2012 campaign.

      • Kate8

Karolyn, What is wrong with embracing life and going for the gusto? The democrats tried to destroy Sarah, and all they did was cause new doors of opportunity to open to her and her family.

I don’t blame her for pursuing life outside of DC. She can still be a patriot and inspire us forward whether she runs for office or not. I’m glad to see her having a good time and following her joy. And making some serious money while she’s doing it! Good for her.

Why is it that democrats can do anything and libs utter nary a peep. But let a conservative step outside the box (or stay IN the box, for that matter) and all they get is berated.

I’d do the same thing if it were me in her shoes.

All I hear is how the Republicans are going to change things !! What a joke !
    *********************************
Viktor ,,,If the republicans go back to their true conservative ways and stop compromising their principles simply to be politically correct America still stand a chance, if they haven’t learn from the Democrat’s debacle, they will need to be kicked to the curb as well……..Time will tell but once thing isn’t to be ignored, The democrats are pure poison for this country and people better wake-up to that fact………

    • William

Mick. you are sooo right about the dumocrats being poison. but there are still so many IDIOTS who are brain washed into thinking they are so great because they STEAL from those of us who are willing to work to give to the sorry scumbags who think we owe them a life of ease so they can sit around on their sorry asses doing drugs,

  • Teresa

    THE SIMPLE TRUTH:
You know I am a simple person from a simple family…I have native American roots and my fathers family was traced back to Robert Davis of whom was here 40yr before the Mayflower. My entire family has served and fought for this country so that “WE” shall have our individual freedom. My grandmother always told me speak simple and speak true and honest, do not sugar coat. You do not owe anyone unless they work for you and nobody owes you anything in this world, but you give out of love not greed for the reward is great! You see, when you look at a person you do not judge them by their clothes, their way of twisting words, their choice of college…their character is their true definition of that person. Yes we all as Americans have fell short to an extent in our current state for we were blind to our congress, judges, president, our leaders in whole. WE THE PEOPLE all have to take responsibility and stand together to change the nation we live in. We do have to get back to the basics if we want our children to prosper. I am a single mother and I would stand and fight satan himself for my child, as any parent would. In todays economy is almost impossible. Stastics show that the avg. income is around 45,000. or so…which I must be way below stastics for after taxes I am only bringing home less than 18,000…I live in a state that has no state taxes and our rent is less than most states but I still pay the same bills as everyone else…now consider this…my health insurance I was just informed will be rising from 21.00 a week to 69.86 thanks to the new health care reform. So, I have to tell you in simple terms…how much more CAN we as Americans take? If we are buying oil from a country for 70.00 a barrel sell them pork or wheat for 70.00 a barrel not 4.00. I believe in helping others in time of need, feeding the needy, but children here are starving. If this country ever expects to get out of debt, they need to quit pasifying the other countries and start here at HOME…this is where we need it!

    • Barb

Teresa you are so right. I too have native american roots. Cherokee. and I was raised on a farm till I joined the Army at the ripe old age of 16. turned 16 in october 1951. joined november 1951,

    • DaveH

You are a good woman, Teresa. Keep up the good fight.

    • yoohooti

      amen to that

    • Christin

      Teresa,
Great down to Earth thoughts… thanks for sharing them.

Buying oil from the Middle East countries is nothing more that REDISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH. We are making them filthy rich.

And YES, we have plenty of gas AND oil resources here IN America, but then that would make us rich… Progressives can’t have us successful and prosperoous… they don’t want that. They want to force us to our knees and break us… so we can succumb to the NWO.

Looks like it is time to get on our knees folks and Pray to our Almighty God. He is all powerful and still in control.

    • Wayne

Teresa, I couldn’t have said it any better. Thanks for you well written post.

All I hear is how the Republicans are going to change things !! What a joke !

    • Claire

All I can say is: Really “think” about the person you are voting for. Things could backfire on all of us.

      • Jana

        Claire,
They could backfire on us, but it sure can’t get any worse. Obama wants to punish his enemies. That is you and me, since we don’t support his agenda. How much worse can we get? We desperately need to get people in to REPRESENT us, not dictate to us. We all know this is just a start, and its going to be a lot of work, but we can do it. We have to be as vigilant as they have been, and they have told us about as loud as anyone can shout it, they are our enemy and they consider us their enemy. Obama is not President of all, he went in to be President of a few, and punish the rest of us.

      • Claire

Jana–I believe it could get worse. This is why I think we should all listen up and really think about some of these candidates. In reality, they are beginning to scare me off. Literally.

      • Al Sieber

Clair, I feel the exact same way, it’s been bothering me for awhile.

      • Michael J.

        Claire,
Being hesitant or slightly fearful of casting ones vote for the best candidate is far better than conplacency and unawareness.

      • Claire

Michael J — Oh, I agree with your words alright. I just do not agree with or approve of the candidates that are running for office. I have listened to all of them and I don’t necessarily like what I hear. In some cases, I wonder about the mental stability.

    • s c

VL, you spend WAY too much time in bars and brothels. You need to hang around with people who aren’t always in a ‘protected’ environment. Your friends tell you what you want to hear. And then you throw it back at us in the vain hope that we’ll listen to your drivel.
Spend some of that money you ‘earn’ by being an Obummer parrot. Get yourself a ‘date’ for the evening, and show her (or him) how friendly you can be.
You might meet someone who spends less time in those places than you do, comrade. Play your
cards right, and you might get a chance to unionize some people who work in those bars and brothels. If you’re REAL lucky, you could wind up in Nevada, working around one of your icons [Harry Reid].

      • Strawberry Shortcake

s c…Viktor is right, where are the Libertarians and Constitutionalists? Once again we are voting Republicans in and while some are worthy, most will not be. Look at Scott Brown. I just hope that even with more “conservatives” regaining most of the control we do not go back to sleep and think all is well. I think from here out we need to be on a permanent watch because the beast is not dead and I believe we are in for a long fight.

      • DaveH

SC is going to keep on voting for the same old talking heads that have gotten us into this mess, just because they sport the title “Republican”. I remember when the citizens were very upset with the Democrat caused mess of the Jimmy Carter years. They went to their polling places and “saved” us with the RINO Republicans (the lesser of two evils). Note that I am making an exception for Ronald Reagan who was the greatest Republican in my lifetime (although he really was more Libertarian than Republican). Did it do any good? Not really. Government just kept growing. Because even Reagan was not strong enough to hold back his own Liberal Republicans.

      • Christin

        Dave H.,
If we vote Republican we can unseat CA Dem Nancy Pelosi and NV Dem Harry Reid. The are the EVIL Rulers right now and we NEED to take back our country and we can not even begin to do that if those two are still in power.

Only Jesus is PERFECT, my friend.

We have to settle for the best choice right now… and we will be fortunate if we are even able to have elections that are on the up and up, but I see already they are being fraudulent in 2010 as they were in 2008.

As far a Libertarians go… a vote for them (third party) is a vote for the Demoncrat… unless the libertarian had name recognition and big backing like from the Tea Party.
If it was agreed by conservatives that the Libertarian was the good choice then so be it, but as I see it they are all unknowns, thus the demo wins.

      • DaveH

No, Christin, the politicians win as long as people keep thinking that way. Don’t you get what I’m saying? We tried that approach 30 years ago. It didn’t work. It will probably never work because the Republican Party likes Big Government almost as much as do the Democrats. They just have a different agenda. And although they give lip service to it, Freedom is not on their agenda.

      • Christin

        You are right Strawberry Shortcake.

Don’t know where all the libertarians are.

Evidentally, we have a Libertarian running for Governor of Texas by the name of Kathie Glass, but I don’t knwo anything about her as I only learned about her in the Sept. Liberal “Houston Chronicle” newspaper that I was using to line my kittens’ catbox! I never heard her speak at a debate or rally.

We all know what happens when we vote for a third party candidate that is not backed by a large group like the Tea Party… your vote goes to the Demoncrat.

The Conservative Constitutionalist Candidates are the Tea Party favorites under the Republican banner.

Our Country is MISSING Values and Principles… Honor and Integrity… people just doing the Right thing.

…Like NOT Spending other peoples money… that goes for the Entitlement group, Progressive congress, and big spending Governors.

      • Jana

        Christin,
        I feel the same way.
I did vote for several local libertarians. I did my research and looked them up on the net. Some were not found and I did not vote for them. If they are running as a candidate even for a minority party, then they need to be sincere and run effectively. In MHO they need to have the gumption to get out and make their name and ideas known. If they don’t run a decent campaign, then they aren’t even worth considering as they won’t do a good job in the office they are running for. We have enough lazy and worthless people in office now.

      • DaveH

Gumption has nothing to do with it, Jana. It is difficult for Libertarians to get a name because up until Fox, the people who don’t want Free Markets have done their best to shut out our voices. Very few people understand the Libertarian platform. We need more recognition, and now thanks to Fox and the Internet we are getting more. If you don’t agree with our principles of Freedom, don’t vote for us. But if you do, the best bet for this countrys’ Freedom is for you to help us gain recognition, so we can win more seats.
You throw away your votes when you vote for somebody who has no intention of shrinking Government. The Republicans may be able to win, but you can see by Arizona’s Republican primary choice of John McCain that they aren’t really interested in shrinking Government. And by voting for them, you give support to that. The lesser of two evils is still just evil.

      • Dan az

        Christin
What Ron paul did was changed to republican so as not to loose the votes of those who where afraid to vote third party. If every libertarian did that it would solve the problem just add rep./libertarian to the ballet and they would get the votes that are needed.

      • Christin

        Dan AZ,

Yes, if Libertarians went under the Republican Banner as the Constitutional Conservative Tea Party folks running this time around are doing then the Libertarian WOULD probably WIN!!!

I would vote for them if they had good conservative ideals.

I voted for a third party candidate ONCE as did many others and got burned… the Demo won. I thought maybe I wasted my vote. I now know both the Demo and Repub (that I did not vote for) are NWO folks so my vote was good, but the corrupt system won’t allow the third party candidate to win.

You are right, there are a LOT of Libertarians on FOX… and that is good to promote that Party.
I like that Libertarians like SMALL gov and more Freedom… get out of the way, and don’t tell us what to do, and be VERY limited.
Do they want to follow the American Constitution?

The problem I have with Libertarians is they say it is okay for people to have conflicting lifestyles and live sinfully as it doesn’t affect you or everyone else, but it does. For instance gov under Libertarians wouldn’t tell you “you can’t smoke pot” or “what you do in your own bedroom is your business.” But those things do effect EVERYONE ELSE. Smokers will push their pot on others and kids will be stoners not achieving anything and “in the bedroom anything goes” can be bad if it is not God’s way as gays, bisexuals, transvestites, pediphiles…. are ALL Liberal and will vote Democrat.

So if we do not follow the Rule of Law, and The Constitution, and the Ten Commandments given by God …our society will AGAIN end up here, where we are today with the Godless (marxists) taking over the God based (Capitalistic) America that we were founded on.

That is why I think “Constitutional Conservatives” are best, but DC is BROKEN and CORRUPT and I don’t know if anyone not in the Establishment will win or survive.
Do you see my point, Dan?

      • JC

Libertarians don’t get Federal funding, and they’re too honest for corporate funding.

    • William

viktor the biggest and cruelest joke on the American people was played last election day by a bunch of IDIOTS who fell for obummers hope and change CRAPP. any time a person promises chang without specifying. then you should expect the worst,

      • Karolyn

Change does not happen overnight. But you don’t want change anyway, right? You want things to go backwards.

      • yoohooti

things HAVE been going backwards since 2008

      • Craig

No, things have been going downhill since the chocolate Marxist took office.

      • Jana

        Karloyn,
The change we wanted was honesty. Obama has NOT been honest with us. The change we wanted and what he promised was an open administration. There have been more backroom deals and dishonesty since he became Pres. than ever before. We all hoped he would be a man of his word,. but he has not been. Hmmm, another word for that is a liar.

Now we find that he is talking about anyone not agreeing with him is his enemy and should be punished. And people get mad when Hitler comes to mind.

      • Karolyn

Is it possible for ANYBODY to maintain their equilibrium once they get to Washington?

      • Jana

        Karolyn,
Probably not, thats why we need to keep rotating them with our votes.
However seeing what Obama has done from the very start, we know he was lying to us from the start.

      • Teresa

Karolyn, I have a question for you? Do you as a legal citizen of America believe in the US Constitution and what it stands for? Do you truly believe every word of it? Have you ever took the time to read the Constitution? If so, you need to think long and hard before you answer that…now really think….

      • (WIA) Wild Indian in Action

Karolyn, voting out Progressive/Communist Democrats and Republican Rhinos is not moving backward. It’s called ” Liberation from Big Government “.

      • DaveH

Yes, I want to go backwards, Karolyn. Backwards to prosperity. Not Forward to income redistribution. If you want that, try Venezuela.

      • Kate8

Karolyn, No sane person wants the kind of change your Usurper is forcing down our throats. It has NEVER worked before, and it will not work now. If he succeeds in his agenda, there will be a lot blood on American soil.

I don’t know whether the Republicians will make any difference but
at least we know what the ones in there are. Obama lovers, and stupid!

    • Lewis Munn

The other parties are there. They have been all along.

But the Media never give them the time of day or an inch of media coverage. Unless it is to deride them and poke fun at their ideas, most of which are good ideas for good government if they were honestly presented!

Look at the current big tarring of one group for an assault, without checking all the things that went into it. It was unfortunate, but the whole movement is ridiculed for one assault; how many assaults have happened with major party people and never made a line of print or a word on the TV? Goon squads are just accepted as part of big politics…right?

When the illegals paraded in Washington, and assaulted a media reporter, it was hardly noticed. And Our President merely watched all the illegals go by! No arrests of those who were in the US illegally and paraded that in public!!

We need the government to enforce laws including immigration, but we keep electing those who will not.

By voting for politicians who believe in breaking the laws for their own profits, and stomping the smaller parties who have sincere answers but are suppressed by the media…well, we are reaping what we have sown.

I do not think there is any question of what is going one. I just wonder how anybody can let this go on and then wonder at the results we get? If they are alert, thinking individuals.

Look back to Chester Arthur’s Presidency, for one rather horrible example!

    • Wayne

Viktor, when ever your representatives is voted in, I hope you and all the others watch him like a hungry hawk would watch its prey. Throw him out of office in 2, 4, or 6 years, depending his term of office. We have to get rid of all those bad politicians.

  • Dan az

As far as this state goes Jan brewer is going to make a clean sweep of it and we already know what she thinks of obumer!

    • DaveH

Barry Hess would be better. Not for the government employees though.

      • Dan az

Dave I got him marked!I get it! lol

      • DaveH

I know you said that on a previous comment, Dan. Lol, yes I get it. And thank you for your support.

    • Wayne

I feel sorry for the way the NObama administration, and the liberal courts are treating the folks in Arizona. I am sure in the end, this will all come back to haunt the NObama Administration. If we can just convince the people to vote for honest poiticians this country could get back on the right track again. After putting the politicians in office we definately need to track their voting record. I believe what we need is to require every politician runining for a political office, to fill out an application. This application should require all personal things, such as; are you a United States Citizen, a birth certificate should be attached, do you have any felony convictions, and etc. Before the politicians name is placed on the ballot, there should be a complete vetting of this persons background. This would eliminate a lot of problems now facing this country. If this had been reqired in 2008 there would not have been any question as to whether NObama is a citizen, or not. I hope some of you smart folks out will come up with a way that we can implement this “work application” for every politician. This application should be used from the local level, up to, and including the president of the United States, for all parties. This should be a requirement for all parties running for any political office. Does anyone else agree with me on this? I would like to hear your answers. The way our system is now the Republicans or Democrats can put anyones name on the ticket regardless whether that person has a felony record or not. Look at Marion Berry. He was arrested for selling crack cocaine and then got reelected back to be Mayor of Washington D. C. This is unbelievable and should never have happened. The people who voted for a man with a felony record would be, in my opinion, complete retards for voting for a man of this caliber to represent them.

      • William

        Wayne you are 110% correct,

      • Jana

        Wayned,
Its almost like Obama has a personal vendetta against Arizona. They have dared to call out his name and demand he do his job, and he is mad. This is obviously what he calls “Punishing his eneemies”. He stated this just the other day on a campaign speech.

      • Jana

Sorry I meant Wayne. Typing too fast here.

      • Wayne

Jana, it is ok. I am a forgiving person. Ha. I make mistakes (typos) all the time.

      • DaveH

So true, Wayne. The retarded Liberals want us to turn businesses into the immigration police with expensive background checks to thwart illegals from getting jobs, but they don’t even want a background check for the most powerful man in the country. Talk about hypocrisy.

      • Joyce from Loris

Marion Berry was re-elected as mayor BY the crack heads that were purchasing drugs FROM him. He had a huge customer base!
Our system is so broken, it will take years of diligence to fix it. I hope we are all up for the task. The welfare people of this country are NOT going to allow their checks to be taken away from them without a fight, and those of us who work and are SICK AND TIRED of handing our hard earned money over to dead beats have been so compliant that it may be too late for us.

      • Dan az

        Joyce
There is a really easy way to get them all back to work.Make them work for what they receive that way they can get back into the swing of working again and then start looking for work that pays better and for a reference they could use the state to vouch for them. Some sort of tax break for the business since they would be saving them money wouldn’t hurt either.

      • yoohooti

sounds like a great idea to if you can find a honest polititcian anymore that is coruptted by the educated idiots in WASHINGTON

      • Kate8

All of the people running government are wealthy, largely off our backs. They are in fine shape now, and will be in fine shape in the days to come.

Does anyone seriously think they give a rat’s behind about how WE live? They wake up in their mansions, fly around in jets at our expense, charge everything they eat and do to us, and pass legislation to bleed us further.

They think about our hardship about as much as anyone spends time thinking about animals in feed lots. I would go as far as to say that most of them are part of this destruction of America, and couldn’t care less about suffering. They are deliberately orchestrating it, at the behest of foreign powers.

No matter how bad times get for us, these creeps will continue to extract their pound of flesh from us. They will lose nothing, but will continue to party on our graves.

      • LeRoyZ

Kate, your mention of flying around in jets has reminded me of a couple questions I’ve been thinking about lately. One is, I’m wondering if the new Speaker of the House will give back the airplane, and the other on is, “Are our Congresspersons going to continue to receive ‘death bonuses’ ala the $193,000.00 voted for the family of Robert Byrd just before Congress left for the midterm break, while at the same time the taxpayers’get a ‘death tax’ of up to 55%??

      • Kate8

LeRoyZ – Congress and their cronies don’t live by the same laws they pass on the rest of us.

They are exempt from taxes and have a different set of rules for themselves. Has anyone ever checked to see whether those Congressmen and czars who were exposed for not paying their taxes ever coughed it up? Not that I’ve seen.

This is another outrage. Our kids lose everything to pay the death tax and their families get huge payoffs! And using OUR MONEY!

    • Al Sieber

      Dan, you got that right.

  • Jana

Standards have certainly changed since Chip Wood’s mother was a young girl of 16. Today they have their hands out saying “Where’s mine?” Everyone thinks they deserve it. I remember hearing stories about the Irish being the lowest class around, and not worthy. My husbands family are Irish, and they remember the hardships and the unfairness. However, we notice how the Irish pulled themselves up by not giving up and hard work. HARD WORK has become two bad 4 letter words.
Until we do get Obama out of the WH, we will have a hard struggle. In my estimation he will go down as the WORST President in U S History, and that is saying a lot. He is arrogant, divisive, and the self proclaimed President of only a few as he does not think he is Pres. of all and reminds us of this constantly.
His policies are bad for our country, and although he may be a likeable person we can see him mentality deteriorating. We are his enemies and we need to be punished. Wow actually I would call that delusional.

    • Butch

I thibk you are all NUTS. It was no President Obama who got us into this finanical mess. It was wall street and other other Presidents before him. I feel that we need a chang but not towards a Republician controlled Congress. How about all Independances. When is Congress going to present a bill to get passes without adding PORK to it. I look at this from both sides andNO ONE has a correst answer as to how to get the County going forward. Maybe WE need to look at the past. History does repeat itself. Remember PKEASE no matter who GO VOTE. That vote will help make a change.

      • Butch

        PS Excuse the misspellings…

      • Barb

Butch, your misspellings though many I can forgive, your being so naive or just downright ignorant is what I have trouble with. Of course Obama and his cohorts has everything to do with this financial mess! The democrats were in power in congress for the last 6 years and Obama just simply escalated the spending frenzy to the max and beyond. I agree VOTE but not often, once will be plenty, thank you!

      • Keith

Barb, you truly are an idiot. Open your eyes, and while you are at it, do a little research.

      • Al Sieber

Barb, this financial mess started with the Federal Reserve, our number 1 priority should be to get rid of the Fed. until we do, nothing will change.

      • Barb

This is to Keith: No matter how you slice it or twist it Obama escalated this to epic and horrific proportions in very little time. Obama, Franks, Pelosi, and Reid are the biggest and worst and I don’t need to research that, that is fact Jack…

      • texastuxguy

Bravo Kieth and Al. I’m glad to see that more and more people are getting the role of the Federal Reserve and the hidden puppetmaster agenda. We need to replace the Federal Reserve with an organ accountable to the people of the US. Presidencies are won and lost with money because so many people want it for free. Advertising has become the influencers of the masses and the hidden money men can make anybody look like anything. Stop the FED. and our country may recover. Continue this partisan bickering and we will all be shorn like the sheep we are. How does it feel to be the Bilderbergs ATM?

      • Barb

This is for Al Sieber: The Fed. Reserve has been around since the early 1900′s if memory serves me right. And if I remember my US History right it is overseen by only one entity, oh yeah, the US Congress!!! Interesting! I also remember that it is pretty much it’s own boss however the sitting President can and usually appoints the heads of the Fed to suit him, hmmmm again Interesting! Correct me if I remember this wrong but US History was my strong point and my granddaughter is in that class this year!

      • Barb

This is for TexasTuxGuy: We need an entire government that answers to the people not just the Fed. Reserve. That’s what we’re trying to get accomplished starting on Nov. 2nd. And with God’s grace next Tuesday will truly be the start of the revolution!

      • DaveH

        Barb,
The Democrats have controlled Congress for the last 4 years.

And Keith, you are the idiot for calling Barb names with nothing to back up your personal attack. Of course it wasn’t exclusively Democrats that got us into this mess, but it was mostly Democrats. The main cause of our current economic mess was too much intrusion of Big Government into the marketplace. The Federal reserve was printing too much money, and the Government was coercing banks to lend to unqualified borrowers. My son was a loan officer, and we knew two years before the collapse that the house of cards was going to come tumbling down. Why didn’t the all-knowing Government of ours know this also? Because they were deeply involved on the wrong side, and didn’t want to see reality.
Read Thomas Sowell’s book “The Housing Boom and Bust”, and other articles on the web which explain how we came to this point. If you can’t even get educated on the matter, you certainly shouldn’t be calling other people “idiot”.

      • Jana

        Barb,
Yes, Obama just keeps making things worse. You can blame the Reserve, you can blame the Bilderburger group, but its we the people that have let it happen by sitting back and doing nothing and saying nothing while we saw our Consitution being eroded away.
It is the people that we elect to represent us from the President on down, that matters. We vote in someone like Obama then we deserve what we get. Now that we are waking up to that fact we want to try and save our country and bring it back to the Great Country that we know we can be. No matter what ANYONE says, that includes Flash, Butch and Keith!

      • BigBadJohn

        Barb,

take a look at this chart and pay attention to the years -

        http://futures.tradingcharts.com/chart/US/M

all the damage to our financial system started in 2002

      • http://none sean moor

barb is an IDIOT!! a real IDIOT!!! the federal reserve WAS the begining of all this evil. the bankers own this country as well as the rest of the world.AND the universe as well. there is a book called “the creature from jeckal island” (forgive my misspelling)i forgot the author.but look it up.it explains how the federal reserve came about.and who is behind it. OBAMA IS JUST ANOTHER PUPPET!!!

      • http://msn.com LeRoy Lyons

Barb- You are right all the way! It is the people that are bashing you that are idoits. They eather can’t se past there nose or there welfare checks that Obuma is trying to give this country away and if he isn’t taken out of office quick we will not be a free America for long!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • eddie47d

If Obama is responsible now then Bush was responsible for everything under his watch up until Jan 20 2009. Sadly Americans have short and selective memories The economy collapsed under George Walker Bush so get over it. Saying Obama made it worse (yes) doesn’t take away anything from what Bush did or I should say what he didn’t do. In 2003 I thought people were off their rockers demanding upward of $200,000 above the neighborhood value of their houses. They said everybody could make a killing by trading up. I knew it didn’t look good and thought it all was rather shady. I’m sure others felt the same but no one wanted to challenge those kinds of profits. Greed got a stranglehold on peoples senses. “Nobody” knew that they would all be taken by scoundrels at the mortgage companies, banks, home flippers for they were too fixated by the almighty dollar. That is why I put the collapsed economy squarely on the shoulders of that guy who was in office in 2003. He saw what was happening and instead of cooling the market he drank champagne and ignored the warning signs. Late 2005 the housing bubble started to break and was in full swing within 4 months. The President certainly had to see what those in private businesses were up to and he did nothing. He lost control of the government he was in charge of and let all hell break loose. We are reaping what George Bush sowed and he let it happen before congress was turned over to the Democrats.

      • John

If what economist say is true, (that it takes one term for the economy issues of a president to kick in), then the President who started the whole thing was not Bush, but Clinton.
If you have trouble with that one, write all the economic analysts.

      • Al Sieber

Barb, you need to find and watch the DVD “America: Freedom To Fascism”, by Aaron Russo. it’s the story of the Fed. Reserve. then you’ll know who runs the world. or “goggle” History of the Money Changers” by A. Hitchcock, it starts with Julius Ceaser, then Jesus etc.

      • Claire

I feel like I am beating a dead horse. When are people going to realize that BOTH parties contributed to this chaos??? This subversion of America’s economy has been going on for 30-50 years, no doubt more. This crap didn’t happen overnight. Now everyone expects something to be done about it immediately when it took so many years to get into this mess America is in. Now we have an administration (Democrats & Republicans alike) that will not compromise and work things out. They don’t give a rat’s rump–all they care about is getting the “other” party out of office. All they care about is getting “their” party in office and having all the control. From the first day Obama took office, the Republicans decided they would be against any and every bill that was presented. They have done this for 2 years and the Democrats were just as inept. I resent my tax dollars paying these idiots’ salaries for 2 years when all they did was create more havoc. I have lost respect for both parties–I absolutely refuse to “side” with either party–they are all idiots. Irregardless of who enters Congress and the White House I have my doubts that any of them will have the good common sense to conduct themselves accordingly, to stop thinking of themselves, get down to brass tacks and get the ball rolling in the correct direction. I hear people say “The Democrats will get us out of this mess if they have control” and “The Republicans will do a better job.” How can this be possible when both parties gave America the shaft?

      • http://?? Joe H.

        Claire,
While I’m not saying the repubs are lily white, don’t you think they SHOULD be against nobama care??? Don’t you think they SHOULD be against further uncontrolled spending??Don’t you think they SHOULD be against the things that are NOT health related that are in the health bill?? I haven’t seen one thing this group of progressive liberals has tried to pass that they SHOULDN’T be against!!!

      • Claire

Joe H –My point is—if all of Congress and the President had done the job they were hired to do, American would not have “watered down” versions of any bill or any piece of legislation. No, they all acted like a–holes and American people ended up getting the raw end of the deal. They are thinking of themselves, their party, and gaining control. And if any Republican/Democrat did agree with a bill that was brought up and voted for it, there was hell to pay. Either way, they did nothing for the problems of America. They were all too busy fighting against each other. They did not want to agree on anything. I see 2 years wasted on playing games. I see 2 years wasted because of “policical” affiliations. None of them were/are thinking of America and the Constitution. None of them have conducted themselves with any logic, rationality, and common sense. Instead, they were “campaigning” for 2 years.

      • Kate8

Claire, If the bills they passed were watered down, I’d hate to see the full-strength version. There is so much written into these bills that we don’t know about. It will take a long time before the truth of what’s in them is known.

If you refer to the public option being left out, all I can say is GOOD. It ALL needs to be overturned.

From your comments I gather that you are in favor of national healthcare. Most of us on these threads are not in favor of national anything except national sovereignty and honor.

      • Claire

Kate8– I stated “any bill or piece of legislation” that was passed was watered down–by this I meant the bills/legislation that were passed were not of merit and a lot of them were a waste of time. This includes National Health care. If a bill or piece of legislation is introduced, then do it correctly, honorably, logically, and fairly or don’t do it at all. Too many issues were pushed through as fast as possible without thought to the consequences. My overall complaint was about the politicians and their game-playing.

      • Christin

        ALL, (Claire)

        Obamacare…. not watered down.

        Go to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HnkxIh62dQ

Dr. David Jana, a nationally known health care expert, spoke from Ann Arbor in Saline MI on Oct 10th, 2010. He also testified before congress and this is what he said.

        * 46% of doctors including himself would stop practicing medicine… why?
….. Physicians would get a $100,000 fine for 1st offense if they do not follow the “DC medical advice” (bureaucrats know best, I’m sure)on how to treat a patient,
….. Physicians would get jail time for 2nd offense.

Patients will no longer be going to a certain doctor because he/she is the best for you… as doctors will all be given the same treatment advice by the “health panel in DC.”
Guess that helps inexperienced and incompetent doctors “know” what to do; and guess what… you probably can’t sue the the doctor for gov guidelines in health panels!

        WATCH THE YOU TUBE VIDEO!

VOTE: Constitutional Conservatives better show up to the polls in droves TOMORROW if they haven’t already done so… hopefully your vote will count as many have been tampered with… It’s called stealing the election. One way to compensate for the voter fraud is to have a high voter turnout so that the fraudulent liberal votes are less than the actual conservative votes.

        Godspeed all.

      • Ken Davis Sr

I agree with you, Osama Obama is just the final straw that broke the camels back. Get rid of all 535 in congress, force Obama to fire all his czars, force the closing of 75% of the federal government and then we have a chance. Our only other hope is secession. Long live the revolution!

      • HFlashman

Ken…Secession? Here’s my solution…there’s the door, don’t let it hit you on the way out. I’d say you’d be best in some SA country where the wealthy rule a subservient class of pverty.

      • William

flashman I see you are still on the KOOLAID,

      • DaveH

        Flash,
It is you who wants to subvert the Freedom that this country has embraced for 200 years. It is you who should seek that elusive “worker’s paradise” that you envision. You need go no further than Cuba. Have a safe trip.

      • JimH

Flash, If Illinois would secede from the great state of Chicago, a lot of problems would go away.

      • Craig

That South American country you say he should go to is a socialistic country precisely what he does not want this country to turn into. So why would he want to go their? You ain’t very bright flashdumbdumb.

You morons that would love for Oidiot to turn this country into a socialist utopia are the ones that should leave. Socialism is anti- freedom, anti-liberty. The very things the founders felt were essential for a strong country for free people to live and prosper. You libs hate America and all she stands for, you losers should be the ones leaving.

      • Average Joe

Guys and gals, I have grown weary of arguing with people like Flash. I have a new approach for dealing with the situation. It goes something like this: “Thank you for your input on the subject at hand. I will take it under advisement and look into it asap”. Next, I come back to reality and ignor what was said (90% of the time anyway….sometimes, they actually do say something that warrants looking into). If they want to try to baffle me with BS, I’ll return the favor by killing them with kindnesss….By doing this, it gives them nothing to argue about and the real disscussion can continue unabated by trash talk and name calling….just a thought …..

Always remember, most times it is more about how the message is delivered…rather than what the message actully is…. which determines whether or not the message is listened to.
Always be cordial. Debate is good…arguing and name calling is not.

BTW, Flash, sometimes you do make statements worth looking into or actually do make sense…please do not take this as a personal attack, it is not…I am just tired of arguing with people in general, it isn’t productive. Also, I refuse to debate with anyone that doesn’t bring facts that can be verified…they are unarmed and there is no chance for debate….only opinions….and we all know about those…right?….Again, please be cordial and not combative…. EVERYONE.

      • Cliff

Not the whole 575. I agree with Chuck Norris – line up every politician in Washington and have Ron Paul point out who’s honest and who isn’t. The dishonest ones get choked out by Norris. If people would stand up for their own liberties and rights under the Constitution, they would then know who not to vote for. I am very excited about this coming Tuesday.

      • Wayne

I agree with Barb on this. If the Federal Reserve, is causing this problem, NObama is surely aware of it. NObama and his Democratic controlled Congress should make some changes in the Federal Reserve, or do away with the Federal Reserve all together, if they are the cause. The president and Congress do have control over the Federal Reserve Board, but apparently are too shy to try to make any changes. How can anyone defend NObama, and this lopsided Congress that has has agreed to everything on NObama’s list. I can see this Congress cannot think for themselves.

      • BigBadJohn

LOL that would be a lot of dead bodies – who judges Paul?

      • Earl, QUEENS, NY

I hear you Cliff. Speaking of Chuck Norris, I remember reading Newsmax magazine a few years ago, and I agree with Chuck Norris when he said he wants to karate-chop all liberal laws on the book. That could include laws telling us what kind of light bulbs or toilets we have, what kind of cars we drive, not to mention the disastrous rules by the EPA. There’s a long list of laws and regulations that need to be karate chopped, but it’ll never happen with the leftwing statist democraps in power. Hopefully in 3 days we start to move in this right direction.

      • Average Joe Patriot

Secession? Now there’s a thought. I believe that the AMERICAN citizens of every state (yes, even California, Massachusetts, and New York…I have lived in them all) fundamentally want what’s best for this country. But the District of Columbia is NOT a state. It has no GDP unless you count politics, restrictive laws, and police (I’ve also lived in Falls Church, VA, next door to DC, and they have more different kinds of police uniforms in Washington than I’ve ever seen anywhere–the entire Beltway is rife with control freaks).

Secession? Hmm. I don’t always agree with Mr. Wood, but he has a point in suggesting that people vote locally for people who have the savvy and the backbone to resist Federal abrogation of States Rights, starting with US county sheriffs, local judges, and mayors.

Then perhaps the United States COULD effectively secede…from Washington DC.

Our entire Federal government, the Pentagon, and the Military-Industrial Complex are all about money, and Barb is mistaken. Congress does not “oversee” the private bank known euphemistically as the Federal Reserve (they aren’t “Federal” and they don’t “reserve” anything, what they are is a foreign-controlled Zionist money-changing usury outfit creating and then lending to us our own money).

What we have there is a classic tail-wags-dog scenario. Assuming we actually did “Throw these $#!T#EAD$ out!” in this or any election, the sole criterion for whom to replace them with should be whether said replacements will put their votes to work deconstructing the Fed. Not merely auditing it, not simply limiting it, but destroying this cancer which was permitted to invade our once strong nation in 1913.

And when they accomplish that, the IRS should be next. If they did nothing else (people complain about a “do-nothing” Congress, so a lack of effort in any other regard should be no great concern), turning the clock back to 1913 and reversing the disastrous decision to establish the Federal Reserve and a national private income tax, just these two things should suffice to make taking back America a glimmering of a possibility.

Any person running for office who does not recognize and loudly proclaim that these two efforts are key to turning this country around “Need Not Apply.” Because with the private central banks controlling the purse strings and the IRS looting the purse, our elected officials have very little say in how our nation is run.

      • Wayne

I guess that means the President is not in charge of the Military then if this is the case. This is our country so I know that Congress can, and do make, and pass laws. The Federal Reserve was created, so why can’t it be torn down.

      • Claire

Wayne—Because they don’t WANT to tear it down. They want to keep it along with the pork and the lobbyists.

      • Average Joe Patriot

        Wayne:

Jackson fought the banksters and they tried to kill him. Lincoln fought them, he was killed. Wilson let them in the door, had second thoughts and said so, became a virtual vegetable while still in office. John Kennedy announced he would dismantle them, he was killed. Ron Paul has been thoroughly marginalized, no need for drastic measures–nowadays anyone in politics espousing the need for Congress to take down the Federal Reserve is immediately branded a wingnut by the MSM. The Constitution grants Congress the power to coin money, but with under 10% of Americans trusting Congress to tie their shoes properly, who’s going to give them the national checkbook?

I didn’t say the President doesn’t, theoretically, control the military. What I believe, however, is that the President doesn’t control the presidency. As aforementioned, they killed the last president who entertained such a grandiose notion, and nobody since then has had the temerity to try it again.

We do need a change and it is with the one in the White House. The man should never have gotten in in the first place. He is of questionable origins. He has a Marxist view of politics. You could say communitst view and still be ok. He is seemingly Muslim. ThBible says know Christians by their Fruts. We would say know them by what they do and how they perform. I see Muslim fruits no matter what the mouth says. I have never had such a down- doom and gloom attitude before this guy came into office. I see a big problem with his tactics so far. This country is so GOVERNMENT. They are even trying to legislate how many pets you can have and if you can have them. Everything legislated is taking away our basic rights. In the days of the Irish mother life was more free and carefree. Work was expected. My grandparents immigrated also. they were not handed anything and did not expect it. They could not speak English but when they picked up a phone they did not get “push one for English and 2 for Italian and three for Polish etc. Their rights were totally violated in that the bathroom doors did not have the word in 20 different languages. They lived in NYC by the way. I was in Miami Fla. lately and saw 3 languages by the elevator in the parking garage with instruuctions. I saw English, Spanish and the third one I thought what the heck is that? It was Creole. Imagine that!

Maxi If the Republicans had put a better opponent against Obama he might have won. People are tired of the same old faces like McCains. This country needs some new blood. Not the same shills for big business and Wall Street.

      • Wayne

I was not happy with the McCain pick either. However, I do believe he is a true Ameircan which I have some doubt about NObama.

      • http://yahoo Robert

        Obama is a true American.

      • Personal Accountability

Did you mean to say, ” Obama is a true American”. Or were you being fascious? Sounds Fascious. Obama does not salute servicemen, or the flag, he does not emulate that he is a Proud American. Previously, someone above posted that he is the leader of a few. THIS IS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, LAND OF THE FREE, HOME OF THE BRAVE! Where have all the leaders gone? Internal bickering, while other countries upsurp us: technologically, Scientifically, financially, Health rankings, education, etc, etc. This country needs leadership that can focus our strenghs and put that to work!. Obama is NOT qualified. He has however, succeeded in dividing this GREAT Nation of ours.

      • Vigilant

        Robert:

        Obama is a true American?

To quote Samuel Johnson, “you must have taken great pains, sir; you could not naturally been so very stupid.”

True Americans have no truck with mortgaging the future of the country so our grandchildren have to pay for our excesses and mistakes.

True Americans advocate enforcement of Federal law regarding immigration and sanctuary cities.

True Americans don’t believe in the Federal Government forcing its people to purchase private products (Obamacare).

      • Vigilant

True Americans have no patience with a Congress that votes on major pieces of (destructive) legislation before even reading them.

True Americans do not tolerate a president that divides the people and encourages class warfare.

True Americans don’t characterize people who support the limited role of government outlined in the Constitution as “right wing extremists.”

True American presidents don’t appoint communists to positions of power.

      • Vigilant

True American presidents care about ALL Americans and don’t paint their political opponents as “enemies.”

True American presidents don’t divert taxpayer resources to special interests such as the unions and teachers just to solidify their political power base.

True American presidents don’t apologize for American exceptionalism, much less deny its existence.

And on and on the list could go….

      • Christin

        Love it and agree, Vigilant.
        Write some more!

True Americans don’t sue the states for enforcing the good federal laws that protect our nation.

      • eddie47d

Vigilant; You and everyone on this site paint your political opponents as enemies. You are the pot calling the kettle black and you say much worse. A good President doesn’t sugarcoat American history to only reflect white history or only one side. That seems to scare you. A good Republican shouldn’t divide Americans by class but they have been doing it all my life. When right wingers advocate violence then they are extremists,go and ask Slickporsche A good President doesn’t allow Corporations to buy elections. A good President is concerned about the health of all Americans not just a select few. A good President doesn’t send us to war by lying to Congress and the American people. True Americans don’t bully immigrants and exploit them for monetary gain. A good President wouldn’t have allowed Big Pharma to jack up the prices of drugs beyond the reach of the ill. A Good President wouldn’t have allowed insurance companies to raise their premiums against the American people while their CEO’s raked in Billions. A good President doesn’t give tax breaks to corporations who move their businesses overseas. A good President doesn’t give tax breaks for gas guzzling vehicles and the owners can write these vehicles off (totally) (Hummers).

        eddie:

Kindly don’t mention slickporsche in the same breath with “conservative.” He’s a sick person who believes every problem can be solved with violence. I and others won’t even address his ravings, as he is indeed a right wing extremist.

And kindly don’t imply that we have anything in common with this criminal.

I doubt it. Get the FACTS! I guess you need to be prayed for, you and the likes of you who hide behind religion.

      • Terry

Hi Butch. I have heard your statements before. They are popular, but so is ‘trick or treat’ night. You are correct about previous presidents causing much of the financial mess of today. These are facts-look them up if you are capable-if not, go to your library and ask for help; Pres Clinton (and those of his appointed administration) demanded that banks greatly lower mortgage home loan requirements. This lead to ‘liar loans’, which banks would only make to consumers after Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac promised to buy the loan from the bank. Pres bush let these persist during his first term-not to do so would make him the ‘anti-black, anti-poor’ President. In the 2nd half of his 2nd term, his proposed legislation to stop the Gov’t support of these dangerous liar loans was blocked by the democratic controlled Congress. Not long after that, the mess hit the fan and the financial snowball of defaults got started. So, in review, Clinton made the mess, Bush didn’t clean it up fast enough and was blocked by the Dems when he belatedly tried to clean up the mess. So, along comes the bailout king, BHO and history is made. The Dems made the mess and they deserve to wallow in it, but unfortunately, we all live here and us conservative, fiscally responsible, working 40 hrs/week folks have so suffer along with you entitlement-minded, fiscally irresponsible jerks who think that your free lunches are forever free. Well, guess what! It is time to shut up and pay, so just do it, along with the rest of us taxpayers who didn’t make your mess.
Yea, I know; Personal accountability is a new thing for you, but so is reality. Good luck with handling this new challenge in your life.

        Terry,
Glad to see that some people get it. I would like to add a couple of names however. Cloward & Piven who are the architects of the engineered colapse of our economy that was overseen, propped up and nurtured by Barney Frank and Chris Dodd until the moment it would do the most harm to the Republican Party in October 2008.
What happened was not incompetence, but sabotage and the sabotuers are not done yet. During the upcoming lame duck session of congress, Obama’s recently defeated, walking dead congressional co-conspiritors will add the finishing touches.

      • Christin

        Michael & terri,
A name to add to the list is George soros… he is the evil billionaire who has collasped FOUR economies of four other nations and he has been kicked out of some of them… Ireland, I think is one as they did not want to join the European Union… smart.

G soros has given millions to Demo Socialist Groups in America in hopes of tipping the balance of power and I’d say he’s been successsful and collapsing America, but now he is being exposed and we are making him uncomfortable… KICK HIM OUT AMERICA!

      • BigBadJohn

Terry, it has been proven that that 1997 bill against redlining played only a small part in the whole mortgage meltdown. A much larger factor was the repeal of Glass-Steagall in 1999. Please refresh my memory who controlled BOTH the house and the senate in 1997 and 1999? Yes Bill Clinton signed both of them into law, but it was a conservative house and senate that handed him the bills.

George Bush had a vision that homeowners make better citizens, his “ownership society”, and he pushed the banks to make risky loans to help make his vision a reality. Do you remember GWB bragging about his policies leading to the highest percentage of home ownership in history?

Did you ever even HEAR of a zero down mortgage before Bush?

      • http://stickmewithafork.blogspot.com TIMedWOrk

        Terry,
Clearly, you did do your research. There are links to all the news stories from the New York Times to support each of your points. And you are right: there is a even a link to the New York Times that states that, due to pressure from the Clinton administration, Fannie and Freddie lowered the bar for mortgage loan qualification. According to the tone of the article as it was originally written, the Times clearly thought this was a good thing.
On election night in 2008 most of the people I knew who were voting for Obama did so because they saw him as a black man. Not one of them could tell me of an accomplishment that made him credible in the role. They voted for him the same way the Nobel Committee did: because of his wishes, not his deeds. We can’t run this country on a wish list. That’s for gift-giving/receiving guidance. We need to run American on a list called the Bill of Rights. If a Democrat-controlled Congress continues to write legislation that Obama then gladly signs into law, we can continue to see that Bill of Rights list require a lot less paper to print out.
On election night in ’08 I told those friends and co-workers who voted for the unknown/untested/unproven Obama that if he won, it would likely be the last time we saw a Democrat in the White House for a very, very long time. I told them that if I read the cards right, should he be elected, we would likely all be looking for jobs in the next two years. And I was right. That was, after all, my job as a sales director: to read the future, so to speak. At least I was good at my job. The company liquidated its assets last week; from being in the top .01% of our field to “gone!” in 18 months.
One simply cannot be that condescendingly un-American, as Obama/Pelosi/Reed appear to be, and have the American people go along with it.
It reminds of me of an enlightening moment back in the ‘70s when I worked for a big name, high-end department store in New York. A man and a woman came into the store, took several Big Brown Bags and proceeded to load them up, blatantly, obviously intending to steal. When the woman appeared a bit nervous and was trying to signal her partner that they were being observed, he told her loudly, “Just fill the damned bag! They’ll never try to stop us!” This was true. The manager simply watched for fear of personal injury should all 20 of us try to stop the two of them from robbing us at “P.C. point”, so to speak. Likewise, we American voters accepted a brown bag of who-knows-what, slapped with a couple of brightly colored stickers reading “Hope” and “Change”, because it looked possibly better than the steaming heap we could see, out in the open, as an alternative. We voted for what we wanted him to be, not for what he *proved* himself to be in his resume. All that was evident there were some unsavory associations with known terrorists (Ayers) and shady business/real estate transactions with convicted criminals (Rezko), whom Obama denied knowing personally. Ok, then.
Likewise, our Politically Correct society would watch the pilfering of our futures before we would stop the thieves in their tracks. Mainly, I believe, because decent people just can’t imagine this type of blatant robbery in broad daylight. Our incredulity is the catalyst that allows this type of hooliganism to thrive. Just as it did back then in B’dales in New York. As Edmund Burke said, ‘The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.’ And we continue to prove Mr. Burke to be correct.

Well, from the tone of many who have replied here, the end is coming next week. And none too soon.

Butch, You keep drinking the Koolaid! But if Republicans do not, at the very least, take control of the House, Obama will be unfettered to destroy all institutions that have been established over the past 235 years, and remake this Country into something that is almost unimaginable. He despises what made this country great, and he is absolutely out to destroy our individual liberties. I for one will not allow this destruction to occur, without a huge battle. Let’s hope it can be done at the ballot box.

      • Rick Quill

Ah here we go again……..”blame Bush for everything”. When will you Libretards finally wake up and realize it wasn’t Bush. It was the Demoncrat Congress that got us into this mess. It started with Jimmy Carter when he got the Credit Reinvestment Act (CRA) passed which “required federal financial supervisory agencies to encourage banks to grant loans to people with low income and little credit”.

Add President Clinton to the long list of people who deserve a share of the blame for the housing bubble and bust. A recently re-exposed document shows that his administration went to ridiculous lengths to increase the national homeownership rate. It promoted paper-thin downpayments and pushed for ways to get lenders to give mortgage loans to first-time buyers with shaky financing and incomes. It’s clear now that the erosion of lending standards pushed prices up by increasing demand, and later led to waves of defaults by people who never should have bought a home in the first place.

Now what folks of your ilk either don’t see or refuse to see (and admit) is that the got out of control once the Demoncrats siezed control of both the House and Senate in the 2006 mid-term elections. Barney Frank was put in charge of the House Financial Services Committee which oversees the banking industry to include (do I need to tell you?) mortgage lenders. He was warned when he first took over as Chairman of the committee that the housing industry was in deep doo-doo and was about to implode upon itself. He ignored the warnings and went about his merry way. By the way, he just recently admitted on publice TV and radio that he made a mistake in not taking those warnings seriously. In the meantime, President Bush had been warned about the impending crisis/meltdown and requested, no less than 17 times, that Congress and the Senate do something about it to avoid the impending meltdown that had become quite obvious. But in defense of Barney Frank, he wasn’t the only one complicit (I hope I’m not overwhelming you with some of these words here) in the whole mess. Barney’s sidekick/accomplice in this whole mess was none other than Chris Dodd, who was serving at the time (and still is) as the Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee. Chris and Barney were later found to be Fannie Mae’s, Freddy Mac’s and Countrywide’s best friend and most influential allies in Government. Dodd reaped huge benefits in “special” loans called “Sweetheart Loans” from Fannie and Freddy. All I can think of about what Chris and Barney were doing when they were supposed to be looking out for the American people is that they were taking turns sucking down each other’s smoothies in some back room.

Now we are in 2010. The housing market is in a shambles; the economy has tanked; the stimulus has failed to produce what they promised it would; the unemployment rate has gotten worse; unemploymnet benefits have run out for many; nobody in this administration is talking about jobs and instead are focusing more on how to “grow” the government’s role in our lives by taking over automobile companies, the banking and insurance industries, and forcing a socialized healthcare system down our throats against an overwhelming majority of the American voters wishes (do you “infer” ‘ignoring the wishes of their constituents’ from that?); and finally they are instead trying to force more taxes on us when, historically, every time taxes have been increased it has had a negative effect on business/job growth yet every time taxes have been cut back (especially on big corporations and the high income wage earners) it has had a positive effect on jobs and our economy.

Obama and his cronies (i.e. Pelosi, Reid, et al) have been doing is just the opposite of what has always worked to promote job growth and to grow the economy. They have openly stated that “Capitalism” is our enemy and that the answer is to “spread the wealth”. Pelosi has stated that (to paraphrase here) “foodstamps give the greatest bang for the buck”. Sir, wake up and smell the coffee. What they are doing and what they want to do is called “SOCIALISM” straight up!! Instead of “growing” the government they need to be “downsizing” it and learning to “live within their means” just like every ordinary taxpaying citizen, homeowner, parent and student has had to do in this country throughout history. The concept of a smaller government worked for Calvin Coolidge and Ronald Reagan whereas the idea of a bigger government and “spending our way out of recessions” has always failed us. Franklin Roosefelts Presidency was a perfect example of the last – his policies sent us from a recession into the “Great Depression”. Jimmy Carter almost did the same thing and Ronald Reagan had to save our kiesters from his mess. Now we have Obama who supposedly is sooo smart but obviously either slept through all of his American History classes or just plain didn’t attend them wants to do the exact same thing that never worked before. All he and Pelosi and all their comrades want to do is to “Tax & Spend”. Once you start down that road where does it end? In the meantime they have racked up the largest debt ever seen by this country and they’ve done it in the shortest amount of time. Our kids, grandkids and even their grandkids will be paying off this ungodly debt their entire lives. But you can always look at the bright side I s’pose…..since China owns most of our debt that we’ll never be able to repay it will only be a matter of time before they call in the markers and when we say we don’t have the money and can’t pay they’ll say “well in that case we now OWN YOU”. Nuff’ said.

      • Rick Quill

Just thought I’d mention my previous was directed at Butch and also – insert economy into the first sentence, third para after “Now what folks of your ilk either don’t see or refuse to see (and admit) is that the”.

Mr. Obama was not a major player, but the DEMOCRATS were and are responsible for the economic mess this country is in. You need to get educated on just who drove the policies that have caused this mess. In each and every case it has been and still is the DEMOCRATS. This didn’t start two years ago, this started with LBJ and was accelerated by Pres. Carter with a DEMOCRAT congress. Pres. Clinton then accelerated this again with the willing help of DEMOCRATS in congress in his first term. When Pres. Bush tried to tell congress and the American people that the housing policies in place were not sustainable he was laughed out of congress and made fun of by the left leaning main stream media. Guess waht, just as he said it was not sustainable and it collapsed.
When you discuss Social Security remember LBJ with the willing help of the DEMOCRATS in congress took ALL the money from the Social Security Trust Fund and replaced it with zero treasury bonds. Those bonds pay no interest so they constantly LOOSE value. No wonder the trust fund is broke. He used the money to fund his war on poverty and the Vietnam War both mismanaged and failures do to the DEMOCRATS. There is much more, but maybe you can do some research and educate yourself on who is really to blame for the mess this country is in.

When the Irish and the Polish and the Germans and other immigrants came over here, for one, they came because they wanted to be American’s, and they wanted the opportunities afforded them here. They learned english and assimilated themselves into our culture, and were willing to work to acheive. Todays immigrants come over here, many illegally, and expect us all to pony up the funds to afford them a free life style. They feel we owe them a living, and that is wrong. Our society, with the democrats leading the way, have enable people to make a living off the public dole, with welfare, food stamps and other social give aways, thus keeping these so called poor under their thumbs and dependant on government. Many of our own citizens feel the government should take care of them, and that is a crock of bull. If I can work, they can work. But they feel why should they when old Uncle Sam is going to pay them to sit around and drink beer and smoke cigarettes all day. It needs fixed, but as long as the democrats prey on these so called poor folks, and these so called poor folks are to stupid to see that the democrats are preying on them and keeping them down, its not going to get better. But the dems are not their friends, they are the reason they are where they are at, down and out.

      • Jana

        Dave,
When the Gov’t gives handouts it has strings attached. They in a way financially punish someone for working, so why work when you can make just as much without working?
They ought to change these laws and put a limit on how long someone would receive welfare, and give them incentives to work. This would become a hand up not a hand out.

      • Jeep

DaveH, you know the answer. It’s not about money, it’s all about power. Money is only the vehicle…and, a nice side benefit. Keeping people beholding to you for survival is necessary to keep you in power. The old adage of give a man a fish…teach a man to fish…is a well known axiom. A lib will give a fish now, full well knowing that if he taught the man to fish, then it follows the man will no longer need the lib. BTW isn’t it amazing that the lib always wants to give away someone else’s fish?

      • DaveH

Yep, Jeep, buying votes. That’s all.
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.

A little TRUE HISTORY Lesson from 1608:

“John Smith became president of Jamestown as some of the colonists realized that without him they would all be dead. Some of the men, however, were still a lazy and not willing to work. Both Captain Smith and the other men who did work were tired of providing food for those who WOULD NOT work. Captain Smith made a wise new rule that came from the Bible (2 Thessalonians 3:10)
‘He who will not work shall not eat!’
Then Captain Smith made sure the rule was never broken. Some of the men grumbled. They became hungry, but Captain Smith gave them no food. They soon decided that they must work” {YA THINK} “if they wanted to eat. From then on things went much better for Jamestown.”

From “Our American Heritage: People in U.S. History” by Judy Hull Moore

The 47% Entitlement Group, most of whom are healthy and able to work, need to get off their butts and take care of their own families and work like the rest of us who are paying most of the taxes. The “give me money group” needs to change their hearts!

And our Corrupt Congress can STOP SPENDING money that is NOT THERE’s that WE THE PEOPLE… DO NOT APPROVE of. We can get by with a whole LOT LESS from them. Oust the Progressives (Communist Big Gov) and their “Kill America Agenda.”

VOTE OUT ALL SOCIALIST DEMOCRATS and RINOS NOV 2!

Vote for ALL Constitutional Conservatives and Republicans on Nov. 2nd.

Then we can RESTORE America as a Free Market, Industry Producer (Jobs!… Not just a Consumer), Prosperous Nation following the Rule of Law and The Constitution of the United States of America again!

I was told as young girl by my mother that the Communists would take us over from the inside, not by force from the outside… WELL, why can’t we take BACK America from the INSIDE out?! Getting control of the inner government and working out towards all the tenticals of EVIL. Two can play that game, right?

      • Karolyn

I prefer the Shaker view of feed all whether they work or not. The Shakers were very hard workers and would store up food for the long winter. Invariably, they would be sought out during the winter by those who had not worked as hard to insure a comfortable winter. The Shakers would take them in and feed them no matter what because we are all God’s children. How much or how hard you work has nothing to do with your worth as a person. The most spiritual people in the world do not work at all. Of course, I condemn the users too, but you can’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. You cannot punish a child for the sins of the father.

      • Wayne

Carolyn, how can you make such a stupid statement? I can’t believe anyone would make such a stupid statement as this. I can see you are most likely on some type of government assistance. I personally don’t want to work and keep some lazy abled body person sitting on his/her butt. I like the way the Little Red Hen took care of the problem. She did all the work while all the other animals wanted to play and refused to help. She would not share her bread with all the other lazy animals that would not help her and ate it by herself. This is for you Karolyn, who apparently have never read the little Mother Goose Rymes about the little red hen. I will post it below:

One day the little red hen wanted to make some bread. She picked up some grains of wheat.

“Can you help me plant the wheat?” asked the little red hen.
        “No” said the pig.
“I will do it myself” said the hen.

The hen planted the wheat. The little red hen looked at the sun. It was helping the wheat to grow.

One day the little red hen went down to the garden to pick some wheat. The little red hen asked the pig to help. He grunted “No”, while rolling in the mud. No one helped the hen.

The hen went to get the wheat from the mill.
“Who will help me?” she asked.
“Not I” said the old lazy dog.

The very tired hen climbed the hill to the mill.

“Can you please help me carry the flour?” she asked.
The cat said, “No, I’m too busy!”.

“Who can help me make the bread?” said the little red hen.

The little red hen asked the cat and duck to help her make the bread. The laZy animals didn’t help the hen.

“If you will not help me, I will do everything myself.” said the hen.

The little red hen was making the bread. The hen baked the bread from the flour. She cooked the bread in her kitchen. he little red hen baked her bread very quickly.

The lazy cat wanted to eat the yummy bread that the hen had made. But, the little red hen ate the bread all by herself. She ate the bread with jam. The little red hen’s bread was eXtra yummy.

        Karolyn,

Shaker method is not one I am familiar with, but it sounds okay. You state “they worked very hard” (uh,oh a good work ethic) “and stored up food for the long winter” (wise people who thought ahead and planned for the future.) “and they would be sought out by those who had not worked so hard.” (unwise and not hard working putting off preparing for the future.), but even those WHO DID NOT WORK SO HARD …did WORK!

Unfortuanately, America has many people… 47% (legal and illegal) …that are not even working that are on the Government Entitlements, while the rest of us …43%, are Responsible and working hard trying to care for our families and being forced to care for all of those others, too.

Now I say that is not fair.

The Gov TAKES, but God asks that we GIVE… very different.

      • Karolyn

Wayne – I am not ashamed to say that I have been receiving Food Stamps for five years up until just recently when I finally found employment. And I was not sitting on my butt. I did everything I could to keep a roof over my head (selling various merchandise online and at a flea market). In the five years I’ve been in SC, I’ve had one job that lasted 8 months. I also worked for two of my friends. I did what I had to do, as a single senior woman, to keep food in my mouth. I have no family. I have worked since the age of 14 when I started babysitting. Who do you think you are to stand judge and jury over me? I’m also not ashamed to say that the position I now have is as an AmeriCorps volunteer receiving a living expense wage. Yes, the government is paying me while I help a worthy nonprofit and further my education. I am in the social services field and happy that I can do something with my life to give back and help my brothers and sisters. What do you do for your fellow man/woman besides bitch, moan and complain? Or are you one of these people who only cares about their own? Money means nothing to me other than as a means to live fairly comfortably. I buy all my clothes at thrift shops and am a coupon clipper. I don’t feel that I have to defend myself from your ignorance. I just want to proudly convey who I am and what I stand for.

      • BigBadJohn

Cristin, Care to back up your statements with some FACTS!

46% of Americans do not pay tax, but that does not mean they are collecting entitlements unless you consider all of that free military protection an entitlement…..

      • Jana

        Karolyn,
So you see, there are jobs in SC after all. You have done a lot of them and have you reported your income? Now you have even found one and you said there were no jobs.
You want us to feel sorry for you? There are a lot of us having to scrape and scratch out here to eek out a living. You are not the only one. As far as judge and jury? Evidently you don’t even comprehend what a judge and jury stand for. No one has sentenced you. You have given us a clear understanding of what you are saying unless you are not telling us the truth. You have given us a lot of different things to go on, and from what we understood from other posts you have been proud to be on the government handout.
I will state, that one more thing we are all seeing as you keep talking is, your anger shows more and more, as well as you have a garbage mouth. Remember, a garbage mouth has garbage breath.
You say want to help people but from the way you talk if someone comes in for help from you and they don’t agree with your politics you will curse them out and not help them. I sure hope that is not the case with you, but if you are like Obama, only the Pres. of a few and if you don’t agree with him then you are his enemy and must be punished you still might be in the wrong job.

      • Vigilant

“46% of Americans do not pay tax, but that does not mean they are collecting entitlements..”

That’s about the most perfect example of liberal fuzzy thinking I’ve seen. When they don’t pay what other people pay, THAT’S AN ENTITLEMENT!

Wake up and smell the tea!

Jana – You just have no clue! :-) God bless!

      • Vigilant

Karolyn said, “How much or how hard you work has nothing to do with your worth as a person.”

Oh yeah? When a lazy person who can work, and work is available, doesn’t work because they know they will be provided for…I think it has a LOT to do with your worth as a person.

“The most spiritual people in the world do not work at all.”

…and most of them are charlatans.

      • Karolyn

Vigilant – And you have a teeny-tiny closed little mind. :-)

      • Vigilant

No, Karolyn, what’s exceedingly small is your grasp of reality.

You believe that being lazy and indolent is a virtue?

      • Claire

My Mother is/was my mentor. Living on a farm, I was raised to believe that if a person worked hard, they would enjoy the simple fruits of their labors. My Mother worked hard her entire life. I look back and wish things could have been easier for her. She never complained, she just rolled up her sleeves and went to work. She taught me to be the same way. She taught me that there was pride in doing a fair day’s work. She taught me to hold my head up even though we were so poor. My Mother went to work so that we could get off of ADC. I can remember it really upset her that we were on ADC for awhile. She had too much pride to be on welfare. And I feel the same way. I am a worker, and I have pride in working. I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth and you know what? I would never trade my life. I would never trade the way I was raised. I hope it has made me a better person. I do not covet what anyone else has, I am not envious of what others have. I am content with my lot in life because I WORKED for it. I may not live in a mansion nor do I have money to burn, but I am PROUD and HAPPY with what I have. I have worked my entire life and will probably die at my desk but so be it. All I know is that I am thankful for what I do have. And I am proud to live in America.

      • Claire

There are jobs out there if a person truly wants to work. Hardees, anywhere–if the person wants to work. I know people that have 2-3 jobs. Are they complaining? No. They have too much pride to be on welfare. In this world, there are workhorses and showhorses. Take you pick. I prefer workhorses. I apply this comment to politicians as well.

        William,
        Thats for sure.

      • Wayne

Karolyn, this is another thing that makes me mad. Folks that want to work should be able to find jobs. I don’t blame you for drawing welfare when you are disabled, or when you can’t find a job. Anyone of us would do the same thing. I do believe we, as a Christian Nation need to help those in need. I would not blame any individual, or family for this, but I do hold this government responsible for lack of jobs. I really am honest when I say this. I think the government should be able to see what is causing our manufacturing base to leave this country. I think this NAFTA thing certainly did hurt us. I think that is when this all started to happen, this gave the manufacturing companies a green light by the government to leave the USA. I blame Bill Clinton, and President Bush for supporting this nonsense. Like I have said before, this nation will never recover like it did after WW2. We recoved quickly after WW2 because between England and the US had destroyed all the factories in Germany, Japan, and a few other countries. These destroyed countries did not have much choice but to buy from us. Today with everything being made outside this country that can never happen again. Our government needs to stop NAFTA, do away with corporate taxes, the consumers pays these taxes on these products we buy anyway, and drop a lot of the stringent environmental restriction they have placed on these manufacturing companies. I would rather have some pollants in the air and have a full stomache, then to have no pollutants, and be hungry. I do believe that the government could bring the corporation back to the US they had the desire to do so. Look at China, they have some pollutants in the air, but they are growing at a rate of about 10 percent and we are going backward. It would be nice to have a clean environment and be able to have all our plants back in full production, but I don’t see where this could ever be possible. The unemployment situation should have been President NObama’s first thing on his to do list. He neglected this and spent nearly a year and a half to pass the health care list and the Cap & Trade bill which would have really taken us down the drain if it had passed the Senate. This is the reason I am made at the current president.

        Wayne,
I hate to disagree with you but I know quite a few disabled people that work, myself included. I won’t collect disability, even though I would be able. You know what though? I can look at myself in the mirror and not be ashamed of who I see!!

        JoeH
        Same here!

    • HFlashman

Wow..Jana…between you and Barb, you guys could be roomates in the asylum together. Let’s take a gander at those things most of the posters here shudder when faced with…facts.

In 1980, the average yearly salary of a CEO of a major corporation was 53 times that of the average wage worker salary. Today it’s well over 200 times.

Since 1980, the average wage, in terms of real dollars, has fallen.

Since 1980, taxes for the wealthy have decreased. Taxes for earners under $250,000 have increased. As compared to 1980, taxes for those earning over $250,000 are lower overall in terms of real dollars. Taxes for thse earning under $250,000…increased in terms of real dollars

Do you see where this is pointing? Do you want more stats? Deficits etc..or just concentrate on the economics of the family and small business?

Shall we point to where we were in January 2009 compared to today? Lt’s use unemployment numbers. Janaury 2009, loss of 800,000. This past month private sector jobs increased (fourth straight month). Gov’t jobs…remember, you guys harp on growth of gov’t…fell again and made overall numbers negative.

That Stimulus package? 33% of it went to tax decreases…for the Middle Class and Small Business.

Auto bailout? Kept over 100,000 US jobs AND saved an American auto industry…industry of heavy manufacturing and, if need be in wartime, a base for building armor etc.

      Want more?

Want to tell everyone the specifics of the GOP plans since January 2009? Ummmm…can’t think of anything they said but “no” to every program set up to help and return vitality to our Middle Class and Small Businesses.

Yes…the feeling of Amwericans is life is not going to be better. But blame the Democrats? Wrong villians. Blame the Right, balme the GOP AND blame the Dixiecrats. Pretty much blame those that championed decreasing regulations, tax relief for the wealthy, and allowed unchecked the false mantra given by the GOP every day.

And yes, it’s my guess that includes you. So look in the mirror. That’s who’s to blame. Not this administration.

      • Warrior

Vote out every commie progressive. They are the scourge of this country.

      • Michael J.

        Warrior,
I liked your post and intend to cast my vote as you prescribed.
However, I have cheated by cutting to the head of the line in order to address the rants of HFLASHMAN who has stated that 800,000 jobs were lost in January, 2009 as a result of the previous POTUS policies. I say that the drastic increase in unemployment was a reaction by Americans who were shocked by the threat of socialism which was about to beseige us all.
I won’t justify the rest of his/her propagangized parrotry with a response, except to say that I am cautiously optimistic that the hard work and due diligence of every day American conservatives may soon reap the benefits we have strived for.
Truths are being uncovered each day now that reveal the desperation of the socialist progressives. Whether it be conservative candidates being attacked with no apparent goal in mind, just uncontroled rage.
Or a Florida senatorial candidate coming out of the progressive/democrat closet. Apparently Crist can not decide whether he is a Republican, Independant or Democrat, acknowledging all three designations within the space of one year is enough to make Arlen Spector jealous.
What I see is a democratic party in stampede mode not unlike buffalos unwittingly heading over a cliff. Even if the lead buffalo catches sight of the impending danger, the momentum of the rest of the herd will carry them all over the precipice.
Others of the liberal persuasion who post here, on this site seem nervous and easily perterbed like progressive dinosaurs four days short of an asteroid strike.
At any rate, Nov. 3rd should be a day for celebration, but not vacation. While it’s probably true that Nov.2nd will mark the beginning of the end for progressive socialist, it will at the same time mark only the end of the begining for conservatives. Still lots of work to do, so stay frosty my friends.

Since you just had to slander me in this I had to respond. AND you lefties call me nuts?????? Point # 1: We and all our friends and family (a very large one at that) are middle class, all our taxes went UP. Several friends and family own samll businesses all their taxes went UP!! Point#2:
The auto industry bailout went to one group; Chevrolet Chrysler whisch used to be known as General Motors and is known as Government motors today. Ford Motor co. didn’t take the bailout and are doing just fine actually much better than GM so to say the bailout SAVED the industry is insane to say the least! Point#3 The jobs you claim were saved would have been here all along because GM would not have gone down in flames as they claimed. Meanwhile the unemployment rate throughout the country since your precious stimulus, has increased every month averaging 17000 a quarter lost! If that is your idea of success pal I want nothing to do with it! The leftists socialists Godless wonders are to blame, sorta like you I think!

      • Wayne

Good comment Barb. Thanks. I understand it, but the liberals won’t. There is just something about English they can’t understand.

      • Claire

Wayne–Sorry, but since some of my taxpaying dollars went to bail out GM, I bought a Chevy Impala. I have a different idea about things. I wanted to “support” my tax dollars.

      • HFlashman

Barb…Slander is defaming by verval words. Ah well…now that we have established you have issues with accuracy…

Point # 1: We and all our friends and family (a very large one at that) are middle class, all our taxes went UP. Several friends and family own samll businesses all their taxes went UP!!

Of course taxes went up. Take a gander at the unfunded mandates to the states pushed through by the Bush administration. Bush used the same gimmick as Reagan…they “showed’ a federal tax decrease..sold it to the public. What it did was give the ealthy a helluva huge tax break and shved the burden to the Middle Class and the states. The two worst presidents this country ever had to suffer..and y’all cheer them as heros. jeesh.

Now…point out in the 2010 tax code where it was changed to increase taxes on the Middle Class. 2010 because that was Obama’s budget …2009 was Bush. Oops.

        Point#2:
The auto industry bailout went to one group; Chevrolet Chrysler whisch used to be known as General Motors and is known as Government motors today. Ford Motor co. didn’t take the bailout and are doing just fine actually much better than GM so to say the bailout SAVED the industry is insane to say the least!

Really? So you buck every economist viewpoint. I haven’t seen one which states GM wouldn’t have gone under. What would have occurred had that hapened is the econmist debating point…but no one is saying GM wouldn’t have sunk. Now…go back and read some of the articles at the time. Ford did’t take funds..but it sure as heck supported the GM bailout. Reason why? because that bailout and the “cash for clunkers” program stimulated our domestic auto industry. Saved small feeder industry. Saved jobs. And created a much sounder American market.

Point#3 The jobs you claim were saved would have been here all along because GM would not have gone down in flames as they claimed. Meanwhile the unemployment rate throughout the country since your precious stimulus, has increased every month averaging 17000 a quarter lost!

And as I pointed out…you cry for less government. Where are those job losses from? GOVERNMENT CUTTING JOBS. The private sector gained jobs. So on one hand you criticize the growth of government..on the other you criticize government for cutting jobs.

      • (WIA) Wild Indian in Action

Flushman, I see you are still suffering from cranial, rectal insertion.

Hey flash buddy you are a genius, do not listen to these wingnuts here. But tell me, dude how can I become ”the ealthy” so my taxes will go down? I think the GM/C.M. bailout was good for the unions and screwed the bond holders, who would have gotten something back under Chapter 7, guess the book was too boring for you and you did not make it that far. Like real wealth is created by ‘GASP’ business. The government has been losing jobs because umpteen millions were hired as temp works then let go, in real terms government is hiring like a bee storing honey.

      • http://?? Joe H.

        barb,
your comment is very correct, but the money went to two groups GM and dodge chrysler. They are two seperate companies. The rest of your post is spot on!!!

If you think about it he gave GM a down payment on there business and come November he already made plans to sell it to china.Hows that for creating jobs!

      • DaveH

Look at the historical chart on Poverty Rates that I posted a link for, Flashman, to see where your politics of envy have gotten us.
And you say “Since 1980, taxes for the wealthy have decreased. Taxes for earners under $250,000 have increased. As compared to 1980, taxes for those earning over $250,000 are lower overall in terms of real dollars. Taxes for thse earning under $250,000…increased in terms of real dollars”. Yet they still pay this:
        http://www.ntu.org/tax-basics/who-pays-income-taxes.html

So, the top 1% of the income earners paying 38% of the income taxes isn’t enough for you, Flash?
Perhaps if the bottom 50% paid more than 2% of the income taxes, they wouldn’t be so anxious to support all those overpaid Government employees.

There is a solution, Flash. All you Liberals, who practice the politics of envy, can pool your money and start your own companies to make our country better. Put your own money at risk, Flash, instead of trying to steal it from others.

      • Wayne

DaveH, you just can’t get through the liberals heads what is, and what has caused this problem we are facing. I guess they want to continue to drag the rest of us down with them. I think the problem is, we have to many Socialist and Communist disquised as Democrats and Republicans. I am for the Conservatives that still believes in the free market place and who believe that we should work for our own living, instead of depending on the taxpayers dollars to help us. I heard on television a couple of nights ago that we have lost 45,400 manufacturing plants since 2001. Why is this happening? My thoughts are that the corporations are being over taxed, over regulated by idiots, and the fact that they can do better in Mexico or China where they don’t worry as much about the environment as this country does. If NObama had spent his first two years of looking for a way to create jobs instead of pushing the health care down our throats, and trying to pass the “Cap & Trade” bill, we would all be better off today. Why don’t you liberals google (Cap &m Trade) and see what it would do to you energy bills, if it has passed the Senate. The house has already passed it. You bills, according to NObama would necessarily skyrocket. Are you Libs prepared for that, or are you all rich? NObama should have been getting all the corporation executives together to try and figure out why they have left this country and what we need to do to get them to come back. For one, I would start with eliminating all corporate taxes. We eventually pay them anyway as this is included in the price of the product.

      • DaveH

I would go even further, Wayne, and tax every adult individual the same. That way we would all have equal skin in the game, and we would be a lot more careful who and what we voted for. And then those people who ran into financial trouble and couldn’t pay would be the ones who suffered the task of filling out paperwork to explain why. The rest of us could just cut a check and get on with our lives.

      • Cliff

Government jobs may have decreased but their pay has increased substantially to where their counterparts in the private sector make LESS than them. Obama’s bank bailouts still had the provisions written in that PROTECTED the bonuses of CEOs.

Blame the Rebublicans for the lack of financial regulation that caused the economic collapse? Well, if you watch the videos on Youtube you will clearly see how the Reps were pushing for more regulation and watchdogs over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac while the Dems, especially Barney Frank, say they were fine. And yet we gave them over $700 Billion. Now they’re trying to snow us saying the cost will be only $30 Billion. $30 Billion to prop up two GSEs that hold Trilions in mortgage debt? To use an expression (and no, I am not a racist) – “N-word, please.”

Last year Obama signed HR1388 into law, authorizing the formation of what some term “Obama’s Youth Brigades” in an attempt to spur volunteerism in todays youth, making it mandatory to join if you have received a student loan. There was a man that did this same thing in Germany back in the 1920s, recruiting the youth to do work and eventually making it mandatory for those under 17 in 1939. The name “Hitler” ring a bell?

Today we get to read how the SEIU is already trying to rig the election for Democrats to win among other organizations. And now here you are trying to get us to drink the cool aid. Well, I don’t think the Republicans will do much and the TEA party was hijacked by the message preaching of “God, guns and gays” instead of staying pure to smaller government while preserving individual liberties. If we had that, I guarantee you we’ll have a much safer country and a more prosperous world.

I heard Barney Frank admitting to making mistakes in reference to Fannie Mae and Freddic Mac on TV a coupe of weeks ago. He only would admit to making one mistake though. Who ever was interviewing him must had the record of it in hand for Barny to ever admit to it.

      • DaveH

Where do you get your figures, Flash? From the Hopes and Dreams website?
        Here’s what I found:
In January of 2009 the unemployment rate was 7.6%. It is now 9.6%.
        For the curious:
        http://www.davemanuel.com/historical-unemployment-rates-in-the-united-states.php
Anybody can talk about how many jobs were created, if they use the Liberal technique of ignoring those that were lost. Isn’t it grand to be able to only choose the stats that bolster your point?

      • Doug

Here is a stat Fartman look at the wages and benefits of government employees and unions compared to to the public sector and tell me who is getting the shaft! There is nothing stoping you from becoming a CEO or CFO and so forth but notice all these government experts in Obama circle none of business experience nope just punk ass radicals who don’t what working for a living is. If I start a business and i put my financial wealth and sweet and tears you better believe I am going to reward my self and pay my employees a fair wage. And if my employees don’t think its a fair wage well they have the opition to go work somewhere else. Fartman you are the decease that has been eating at America for the last 80 years.

      • Teresa

Doug is pointless to talk to flash, the only jobs the Obama administration has created is Unionized jobs. As far as the blame game goes the common sense here is this. The government has failed us in recognizing the one fundamental truth to the age ole question. WE THE PEOPLE are paying their salary. We the little people, we the big people, WE THE PEOPLE of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. So when a President and Congress pushes thru bills that we the majority do approve of nor do we have a right to vote upon of course WE THE PEOPLE get upset, but you see the “left” still think that WE need someone to think FOR us! This is where the difference is…government was not put there to think for us, they are there to govern! They will twist the words and try to justify in any ways necessary but that is basically all it comes down to.

      • Jim W.

Yes I see the point, you and your liberal kind are envious of the people who make things happen. If the board thinks those people are worth it they will offer to pay them. The owner/CEO of a company I worked for in Georgia was quite well off, not only did he earn it he provided employment for many people by taking the risk to create and expand the company.
By the way, I don’t hear you carping about what ball players make.

      • DaveH

        or Movie Stars.
Flash just doesn’t get that the owners of the company are voluntarily paying those big wages to the officers of the company. Voluntary contracts just don’t compute with Liberals. They know only force and taking.

    • Karolyn

I saw a chart on tv yesterday showing how the job loss rate had gotten high during the end of Bush’s term and how much it has improved since Obama has been in office. i know that in North Carolina, new businesses are opening up every week. I get an email from Gov. Perdue (democrat) with updates to constituents every week, although I live in SC with a Republican admin and gov. where NOBODY wants to locate their business. The republicans are keeping this state in the toilet.

      • Jana

        Well Karolyn,
All you have to do is open your eyes and look around to see that little chart that you saw was wrong.

      • Karolyn

Oh, but if it was a chart saying what you believe is right, it would be right! I don’t see more people around here losing jobs. All the jobs that could have been lost have been lost. SC has cut the budget so much here that they have closed local employment security offices so people with no jobs or money for gas can’t get to them to look for jobs. That’s republicans for you!

      • Jana

        Karolyn,
Are you smoking your weed again? You aren’t even making sense.

      • Karolyn

What I wrote looks perfectly clear to me. You must be the one who’s high.

      • Jana

        Karolyn,
Ok, lets take your statement that in SC all of the jobs that could have been lost have been lost lost. That is not true. There are still more there that could be lost except for the ingenuity of some of the people doing them. People still have phones, they have internet, and most jobs now are found on the net. They still have electricity. They still buy groceries. Somebody has to have gas money to go to the store. You still get your government checks. You go to school. People still eat out.

Then you blame the Republicans for closing the employment office? Uhhh have you been asleep since 2006, thats when the Dems came into power and started running things into the ground. And they are still doing it.

      • Karolyn

Uh, Jana, we have a Republican legislature here that wants to keep South Carolina the same forever. Keep “good ole boy” politics and maintain the status quo.

      • Robert S

Karolyn Most of your furniture industry has left in the last couple years. Thomasville looks like a ghost town. Was Perdue governor then?

      • Karolyn

        Uh, no.

      • DaveH

        Karolyn,
I posted a web link so anybody can check easily to see the national unemployment rate for any particular month of the year. For your ease, I will post it again:
        http://www.davemanuel.com/historical-unemployment-rates-in-the-united-states.php

      • coal miner

        Karolyn,

You are right.May I add something, all political parties are corrupt.Join the IWW today and make a difference.Anarchy is the best rule, which means no rule. All governments are evil, whether it socialist, capitalist or monarchy.Show me a form of government and I’ll show you a evil corrupt, festering cancer, run by scum bags, like Ronald Turn Coat Reagan,Dick Blood Sucking Cheney, George Scab Bush Sr and his cocaine snorting son,George Scab Jr, that not only exploits the people, but get us involve in endless wars.Governments bring nothing, but misery. It is time for them to go.

      • Doug

Show us the chart Karolyn umm could they be govt jobs. Funny Dems creating jobs that is a oxymoron!

      • Karolyn

I didn’t say anything about creating jobs. I’m talking about job loss. ABC World News (now don’t get all upset)has been doing a fact check each night on popular myths and what is true or false. And they are even proving some pro-Obama administration things to be wrong, so it does not appear to be biased.

      • Jana

Thats funny. You don’t SAY anything about crating jobs and Obama doesn’t DO anything about creating jobs.

      • DaveH

        Karolyn,
Do you know the difference between the number of jobs lost and the job loss rate?

      • DaveH

If you look at the link I provided, Karolyn, you will see that during the Bush years (I’m no Bush lover, by the way) the highest unemployment rates occurred when the Democrats were controlling Congress in 2008. And yet the Democrats tout themselves as the worker advocates.

      • Karolyn

Doug – Of course I know the difference! The chart indicates number of jobs lost at a particular time.

      • Wayne

Governor Purdue (Democrat) Yep! that explains it. Need I saym more?

      • Karolyn

What do you mean? I’m saying NC is doing great with a dem governor.

      • Jana

        Karolyn,
Maybe NC doesn’t have so many government freeloaders.

      • Karolyn

Maybe your wrong, Jana. NC is just more PROGRESSIVE! Charlotte is a very successful city, as what is said to be the banking capital of the US, with Bank of America headquarters, as well as others.

      • Robert S

The Banker crooks found that Charlotte is a good place to hide.

      • John Woodbury

Wow Karolyn, we are all wrong and you are right! The progressive party (commie) is so good for America. I bet even more progressive Hispanic people will move here. If they can find jobs and send money home why can Americans not find them? Maybe it is because we expect to be paid enough that we can get a burger at McDonald’s, a home and a car.

      • Karolyn

Ok, John. What does “progressive” mean? It means “moving forward.” North Carolina is “moving forward” by actively recruiting employers. You people have such narrow views. You take a word and use it in your own way. There is nothing wrong with being “progressive” unless you want to keep the status quo.

      • DaveH

If you want to throw states at us, Karolyn, look at California. They have been controlled by Democrats ever since I can remember. And they’re begging for money now.

      • DaveH

Oh yeah, North Carolina is doing just great:
        http://www.deptofnumbers.com/unemployment/north-carolina/

      • DaveH

        And Karolyn,
When are you going to figure out that Government doesn’t create productive jobs? It doesn’t matter if the leaders are Democrat or Republican. If Big Government created prosperity, the countries at the bottom of this list would be very prosperous:
        http://www.heritage.org/index/Ranking.aspx

      • Karolyn

WOW! You guys are not listening to me at all. I am talking about statistics and the meaning of “progressive.” Progressive is a word that is not necessarily affiliated with any praty. In my experience, I have not seen a republican governor come into a state and be able to show good things happening in that state after a short period of time. I’m not saying they’re not out there. My experience right now is limited to NC and SC; and SC has been locked in place by a republican legislature for some time, while NC has been forging ahead. That shows me that the republicans in SC are too conservative to spend the money necessary for growth.

      • DaveH

I’m not listening to you, Karolyn? You have that backward.
The Government spending money does not create net jobs. Where do you think they get the money from? And who do you think spends the money more wisely – The person who earned the money or the people in Government that take the money from that person? If Government Spending created jobs, there would be no poor countries.

      • Kate8

Actually, Karolyn, the term ‘Progressive’ was used instead of ‘communist’, as that scared people. The Progressive movement originated as the communist movement in America.

It refers not so much to ‘moving forward’ in the sense most people would think of as ‘forward’. Rather, it would be better termed ‘incremental’, as it works according to the boiled frog syndrome. You move toward an agenda that people would reject if you tried it all at once, so you do it in small increments. That way people hardly notice until it is too late.

      • S.C.Murf

Those McDonald’s and Burger King jobs will take your state along way girl. And as far as the unemployment numbers getting better that’s only due to the fact that millions have used up any resources that were available and once they do that they are taken off the list, they are still out of work and hurting. There’s to much evil in this country, the back biting, back stabbing, neighbor against neighbor. We are more alike than different.
        Vote!!!!

        up the hill
        airborne

      • Karolyn

No SC. They’re corporations moving into NC. I live in lowly SC.

      • (WIA) Wild Indian in Action

Karolyn, are your related to Flushman (aka) Fartman or are you his Maiden in the toilet?

      • Robert S

WIA Are you still smoking that peacepipe with the hair around it?

      • http://?? Joe H.

No robert, he was informed that that was your own private stock!!!

    • refuse2lose

I hate to say this but Americans will never live like they have been. We were living beyond our means,as was our governments. Everything was a lie, blown out of proportion by excess risk taken. We are paying the price now.

The election next week is more than just about Obama and his radical agenda,it is about putting into place conservatives in local government that will put loyalty to their citizens b4 DC. Think about this when voting on Tuesday.

    • Randy G

I worked hard all my life & all I got when being laid off is “Your single, you can afford it.” and I am still looking for a first girl friend because you have to be married with kids to get & keep a good job. which is the only way to get a girl friend/wife.

    • Slurry

You are an idiot. The liars and hypocrites are conservative, religious and republican. Screw you

      • John Woodbury

Wow dude, what use of fine logic, the O will proud of you. Get off your lazy, fat, ugly rear end and start working. Working for the commies is not a job, it is political payback. If you do not start working soon, you will regret it for a lifetime, mate. Change is in the wind, and it does not look so good for the givemes and their ‘caring’ party.

      • DaveH

The ‘useful idiots’ like Slurry will be the first ones thrown under the bus after the socialists take over and impoverish our country.

    • Marie Mandel

Jana, you are the only delusional one in this speech, you are completely brainwashed dear.

      • Kate8

Marie, there are far more of us than there are of you.

      • Christin

        Marie,
And I might add from reading several of your posts that you are quite an angry foul-mouthed woman.
Turn the hate down a notch or two would ya?
