And while I am on the subject of Alaska. a little history lesson. When Sarah Palin was running fro Vice President, the media was trying to make a connection between Palin and Alaska’s attempt to secede from the union (United States). Here’s what happened. When AK became a state it had to turn over “X” amount of state land to federal control. At agreed upon designated time periods the Fed was to turn incremental amounts of land back to state control. For years the Fed reneged on the deal and would not turn the land back over. In frustration, the Governor of the state appointed a commission to investigate the possibility of seceding from the union to form its own “country”. The act of appointing a commission scared the Fed into releasing the land it promised to do, back to state control. And the commission was disbanded. Alaskans are a hearty, independent people who refer to the rest of the continental US as “the lower 48″ and themselves as the Last Frontier. And they weren’t going to put up the the Feds broken promises.

Corruption in Alaska is not new. Back story. Alaska’s capitol is in Juneau (southeast AK). The only way to get to Juneau is by air or boat. Which means the state legislators are isolated (protected) from the people. Approximately 30,000 people (out of AK’s 550,000) live there. Their motive operandi on hot issues; if the citizens wished to go to their representatives and have influence on the their (legislators) stance, on the day of the vote they would find an excuse to “postpone” the vote. Thereby costing the citizens a great expense to fly back to the capitol for the “postponed” vote. The citizens said enough of this tactic. They got the signatures to put an initiative on the next election ballot to move the capitol from Juneau to Wassila (near Anchorage) where 350,000 people live. The legislators did not want this. They would lose their isolation/protection from the citizens. So, it’s the early 1980′s and here comes the Nov 2 election. Remember, at that time there was a 3 hour time difference from Juneau to Anchorage. Also remember there was no ban on exit polling and predictions/projections by the media. As the early election results came out,the media was calling for a landslide to keep the capitol in Juneau. The problem was. the early results were from JUNEAU, where their residents did not want it to leave. In south central Alaska as voting progressed in the early evening there was a mysterious “power outage” that knocked out power to the entire Anchorage area. No power, no voting. A petition to the court was immediately put in to extend the hours of the polling places due to the “power outage”. It was denied by the judge. So between the media predicting a victory to keep the capitol in Juneau (influencing the public into a why bother to go vote attitude), the power outage, and the judge denying extending the hours, the capitol stayed in Juneau. Right after the election the corrupt legislature voted to spend some $30,000,000 to “renovate” the capitol thereby ensuring it never would leave Juneau and the representatives would be secure from the citizens. An investigation was conducted on the “power outage”. The result was, seriously now, a bird landed on the wires at a power station (I believe the station on the Old Palmer Highway) and that one bird shorted out the entire Anchorage voting district, for hours. So unless you voted early you were denied your vote that day. I know, I lived in that district at the time.

Murkoski has shown her true reason for not accepting the results of the people’s voting for her opponent Joe Miller in the Alaska primary–she is nothing but a sore loser and really doesn’t care to back the people’s choice unless it is her and her alone. For that reason alone the people should reject her in the November election and send her packing. What a waste of time and money, she is nothing but a cry baby and will never grow up and realize the truth, but will do anything and everything to derail her opponent’s chances of winning by innuendo and insinuation of his character being less than perfect. But it only shows just how desperate and despicable a person she is to not accept the will of the people of her state of Alaska. I wish the best for Joe Miller and if he doesn’t work out in the job then down the road the people have the right to campaign for another Senate candidate. Dave Sanchez.

The Alaska State Militia is a formally recognized militia which is under direct command of the Alaska Governor. It is a professional organization with many upstanding citizens as active members. No, they don’t go running around in the woods on weekends in camo carrying machine guns.

The Blog making this charge against Miller wouldn’t be affiliated with those weasels whose trivial lawsuits forced Sarah to resign as governor ? Among those was that she was wearing a ballcap at a snowmobile race her husband was competing in. It had the make of his sled on it. She was forced to spend over $500,000. to defend against these suits from political hacks intent on destroying her. If this tactic. worked against her they hope it will work against Miller. If Murkowski gets reelected she may well do an Arlen Specter out of scorn.

Anyone the Demos dislike, I feel certain that he/she is an outstanding citizen (just LOOK at the scum we have in office!). I’m not a lawyer but I think there may be a possibility that a case could be made: If the President of the United States of America did not have to release and disclose HIS records before an election – then NO candidate for ANY office can be forced to produce his or her records. I concur with Teresa,if you are an illegal there are no holds barred,but if your are taxpaying citizen beware,I hope very much congress passes a law that says if you run for any legislative office you must provide a legal notorized birth certificate and not to be simply grandfathered in because you have eluded some other roadblocks.And no being a fiscal conservative I would not spend a million dollars or more hiding my birth certificate,in fact I am proud of mine and would love to show it to anyone!This Great Country has been Hijacked my friends!

I find it funny that Miller is being forced to release his records when the President has spent millions to conceal his records! He served in the military, those records should be confidential. The President will not even produce his birth certificate, college records and so forth; what a discrace to the nation.
